The United States is in the middle of a devastating long-term economic decline and it is getting really hard to deny it. Over the past year I have included literally thousands of depressing statistics in my articles about the U.S. economy. I have done this in order to make an overwhelming case that the U.S. economy is in deep decline and is dying a little bit more every single day. Until we understand exactly how bad our problems are we will never be willing to accept the solutions. The truth is that our leaders have absolutely wrecked the greatest economic machine that the world has ever seen. Most Americans just assume that we will always experience overwhelming prosperity, but that is not anywhere close to the truth. We are not guaranteed anything. Our manufacturing base has been gutted, the number of jobs is declining, more Americans are dependent on government handouts than ever before, our dollar is dying and as a nation we are absolutely drowning in debt. The economists that are trumpeting an "economic recovery" and that are declaring that the U.S. economy will soon be "better than ever" are delusional. We really are steamrolling toward a complete and total economic collapse and our leaders are doing nothing to stop it.
The following are 24 more signs of economic decline in America. Hopefully you will not get too depressed as you read them....
#1 On Monday, Standard & Poor’s altered its outlook on U.S. government debt from "stable" to "negative" and warned the U.S. that it could soon lose its AAA rating. This is yet another sign that the rest of the world is losing faith in the U.S. dollar and in U.S. Treasuries.
#2 China has announced that they are going to be reducing their holdings of U.S. dollars. In fact, there are persistent rumors that this has already been happening.
#3 Hedge fund manager Dennis Gartman says that "panic dollar selling is setting in" and that the U.S. dollar could be in for a huge decline.
#4 The biggest bond fund in the world, PIMCO, is now shorting U.S. government bonds.
#5 This cruel economy is causing "ghost towns" to appear all across the United States. There are quite a few counties across the nation that now have home vacancy rates of over 50%.
#6 There are now about 7.25 million less jobs in America than when the recession began back in 2007.
#7 The average American family is having a really tough time right now. Only 45.4% of Americans had a job during 2010. The last time the employment level was that low was back in 1983.
#8 Only 66.8% of American men had a job last year. That was the lowest level that has ever been recorded in all of U.S. history.
#9 According to a new report from the AFL-CIO, the average CEO made 343 times more money than the average American did last year.
#10 Gas prices reached five dollars per gallon at a gas station in Washington, DC on April 19th, 2011. Could we see $6 gas soon?
#11 Over the past 12 months the average price of gasoline in the United States has gone up by about 30%.
#12 Due to rising fuel prices, American Airlines lost a staggering $436 million during the first quarter of 2011.
#13 U.S. households are now receiving more income from the U.S. government than they are paying to the government in taxes.
#14 Approximately one out of every four dollars that the U.S. government borrows goes to pay the interest on the national debt.
#15 Total home mortgage debt in the United States is now about 5 times larger than it was just 20 years ago.
#16 Total credit card debt in the United States is now more than 8 times larger than it was just 30 years ago.
#17 Average household debt in the United States has now reached a level of 136% of average household income. In China, average household debt is only 17% of average household income.
#18 The average American now spends approximately 23 percent of his or her income on food and gas.
#19 In a recent survey conducted by Deloitte Consulting, 74 percent of Americans said that they planned to slow down their spending in coming months due to rising prices.
#20 59 percent of all Americans now receive money from the federal government in one form or another.
#21 According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average length of unemployment in the U.S. is now an all-time record 39 weeks.
#22 As the economy continues to collapse, frustration among young people will continue to grow and we will see more seemingly "random acts of violence". One shocking example of this happened in the Atlanta area recently. The following is how a local Atlanta newspaper described the attack....
Roughly two dozen teens, chanting the name of a well-known Atlanta gang, brought mob rule to MARTA early Sunday morning, overwhelming nervous passengers and assaulting two Delta flight attendants.
#23 Some Americans have become so desperate for cash that they are literally popping the gold teeth right out of their mouths and selling them to pawn shops.
#24 As the economy has declined, the American people have been gobbling up larger and larger amounts of antidepressants and other prescription drugs. In fact, the American people spent 60 billion dollars more on prescription drugs in 2010 than they did in 2005.

And Benocide Bernankebub over at the Federal Reserve will keep running his printing presses and helicopter drops to the banksters at full throttle.
This guarantees that food and energy prices will continue to skyrocket, economically devastating the 40% of Americans on the low end of the economic scale.
What is needed are indictments, trials, convictions and lengthy jail sentences for people like Greedscam, Bernankebub, Paulson, Geithner, Summers, Blankfein, Dimon and Mozilo.
Only when those who are responsible for the economic devastation in this country are called before the bar of justice will we have any hope of true recovery.
That hopey changey just hasn’t kicked in yet. Once it does it will be a golden socialist collective utopia with government checks and debit cards for all and those evil rich whiteys will get taxed good and hard for the good of the collective.
These are 24 signs of the economic and financial COLLAPSE of the United States, not decline.
The $64 Trillion question is this: When and where will the United States wage WW III?
The human race always was a self fulfilling prophesy in that it would destroy its-self by its own means. I am 53 years of age and the last generation of human beings on this planet. I’m afraid most humans will remain delusional until the end, Human beings are a mistake and are total alien to this natural habitat. This is the true story of the bible, the trials and tribulations of mankind and then the end.
For the USA to get OUT of this economic mess, it is first important to recogzine how we got IN to this disaster. That will allow the changes necessary to right the ship of state. Do not look earlier than Jan of 2001 for the evil that has wrecked America.
If they have still money to spend on drugs and gasoline, it can’t be THAT bad.
Gas price in Germany is 1.60 Euro per litre, in Hong Kong it’s 15 Hong Kong Dollar per Litre. 1 USD=7.8 HKD.
5 Dollar per gallon? That’s still extremely cheap.
And how many Americans eat still so much that they can’t walk a mile by themselves? No wonder they all go into debt for big trucks (to carry their weight) and gas.
Young people should go to the library and start reading. This is not the first depression and there are numerous records about previous ones.
If America does not need all that gas from Arabia, it can do away with thay HUGE Army and Humungous Navy to secure the shipping routes for Exxon & Co. And all that money can go into public transport. Trains and MAGLEVs connecting all cities. Electric cars connecting all villages to cities and train stations.
And then that money doesn’t go up into smoke and explosions, but is still around in the form of hardware to generate revenue.
Keep the money in the country. Invest locally with the smallest, not the biggest company around.
Ain’t the ‘leaders’ that ruined America, its the “welfare mob” that ruined it. And what I mean by welfare mob are the people who think they are entitled to receive other people’s money just for existing – basically, legal stealing. Its the old ‘entitlement mentality’ of the majority of American citizens, or of the ‘welfare mob’. Its the welfare mob that gangs together to elect politician who pander to them and give other people’s money to them and cuts their tax rate to zero. And that mob is now at or just over 50% of the voters, and when 50% or more of the voters can vote themselves more money for nothing and no taxes, then they rule – the welfare mob rules America. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, are the ‘Godfathers’ of the welfare mob. Obama is nothing more than a Godfather shaking down those that produce wealth and giving that stolen property to those that do not produce wealth, ie, the welfare mob. This welfare mob is only going to continue to grow as America declines. Look at Great Britain to see our future. It once was the dominant empire not too long ago, and was replaced by America. We are still the dominant empire, but not for much longer if the current trend continues – we will yield that position to the Chinese. This is not an endorsement for China because for as much as I admire the Chinese people for their work ethic, that work ethic and way of life is forced upon them by the communist/socialist Chinese govt. One day I pray for the Chinese people to be liberated from the stranglehold of a Govt that dictates they can have no brothers or sisters. Gary2, I’d like to see your whiney-little *ss over in China doing 12 to 14 hour work days for one tenth the pay of McDonalds. That would solve your problem and mine – so pack your bags on a one-way ticket – please. You would get the govt you want, a socialist/communist dictatorship. And I would get the benefit of having one less person in the ‘welfare mob’. In fact, why don’t all you people in the welfare mob just head on over to China, or Cuba, or any other country with a socialist/communist utopia – go enjoy the govt of your desires.
The so called leader of American are all bought and paid for, this is all part of the Great Game go look it up, you will find out that this has all been planned MANY years ago. The few who rule the world what a NWO, but they will not achieve this in the end. But in the meantime much destuction is about to happen and soon.
The world’s economic depression is not a side effect of poor economic planning…it is the intended purpose of the central banks created by their elitist members. The mega international banks and corporations have never made more money than they are right now.
The only way to stop the implosion is through a united international effort. That is not going to happen. Economic implosion is imminent.
Load up.
When SHTF, I would hate to be in inner-city Philly, ATL, Los Angeles or Chicago. I suspect the collapse will take place on a weekday afternoon in the next 6 months. Get regular news alerts to your phone and stock up in the meantime.
Why do republicans spend one trillion to give tax breaks to the rich and want to get rid of medicare?
Ha! The S&P rating agency ‘threatens’ a down-
grade? WTF! The U.S. is already bankrupt, it
basically defaulted on it’s debt already when
it started printing it’s own dollars to pay for
it’s bills. We should be sporting a ‘——–
FFFFFFFF’ rating! The U.S. is toast!
Oh, BTW, I don’t think it’s just the ‘young’
people who are going to be displaying ‘random
acts of violence’…..there are a lot of people
out there of all ages who’s ‘frustration is
growing’!
[The economists that are trumpeting an "economic recovery" and that are declaring that the U.S. economy will soon be "better than ever" are delusional.] Anyone remember the Bush tax rebate in early 2008? There used to be a video online in which he was visiting a business in northern Virginia (the owner is a party bigwig – I know his brother) and Bush was stating that, not only would his tax rebate turn the economy around, but soon the economy would be better than ever! Happy days are here again! Amazingly enough, the party faithful believed it then, and they’ll believe it the next time, too, despite all previous experience to the contrary.
Just read an article that 10 US senators are visiting China. Poss to ask them to continue to buy US treas. Wonder what China will want in return?
Any other country that got a negative rating on their debt would have had their AAA rating dropped some time ago. Why is USA still AAA?
One thing I can not get-were not these the same ratings agencies that rated all the wall street crap as AAA? Who gives a rip about what they say now? Am I missing something on this? They have no creditability.
With 25% of our children living in poverty it is really sick that we are discussing giving the rich another tax cut while cutting programs that help these children to pay for said tax cuts for the rich.
Whether or not you like it the rich will be taxed hard and the wealth spread around more evenly by funding programs to help the poor. When 80% and rising of the people agree it will happen. Its just a matter of when and not if. Obama will cream the rich in 2012 on this one.
I think I’m going to shoot myself after reading this. None of these things can be stopped. Pandora’s box is open. Good luck everyone, my sure your right with God!
I know you are joking Kevin, but there are a lot of people out there that are really hurting.
Suicide is never the answer.
There is always hope.
Michael
This reminds me of a Gerald Celente prediction made in 2009: that Christmas of 2012 would see Americans giving FOOD to one another as prized gifts. I’m wondering if he should have forecast this for 2011 instead.
Meanwhile, our current White House occupant continues to burn down our economy, culture, traditions, and morale; and Chairsatan Bernanke desperately tries to hold up this house of cards for a while longer (to enrich his bankster buddies and other cronies and prepare the way for the NWO).
Amazingly enough, most people I know (including some very smart folks) are still pretty much oblivious to our impending collapse. There will be many millions of sheeple with stunned “deer in the headlights” looks when the SHTF.
In Australia 1 Australian dollar will now get you 1.07 US dollars. The Australian dollar hasn’t been that strong for so long, or the US dollar hasn’t been this week.
Another sign of the economic decline are lists longer than 20 items.
All kidding aside, I hadn’t heard of people selling their fillings. I’m sure grave-robbing is next.
I’ve got millionaire friends and super-arrogant Ivy League executive-type friends. When I bring up these dismal stats/collapse they waive me off with such arrogance.
While I stock my shelves, I ponder how that Cornell/U Penn Law Degree and $50 mil bank account of worthless greenbacks is gonna help them when they are starving to death in 2012.
Tried to warn ‘em so…….F#CK ‘EM! LOL
Like the man that fell from the top of a 100 story skyscraper, half way down a office worker had their window open and saw the man and asked him. ” How is it going, falling to your certain death?” The man answered honestly. “So far it ain’t been too bad”. This is where our nation is at this point in time, over the edge, not speeding toward the cliff, not approaching the cliff, but freefalling. The fall won’t kill you but the sudden impact certainly will.
Question. I am recenty trying to open a small thrift store and can’t find ONE space that is resonable or anybody who is willing to rent it on a month to month basis at a price that reflects the economic downturn. They do not even appear to understand the risk involved today of opening ANY business. There are many, many retail spaces available but not ‘affordable’ For instance, $1500 for 700 sq ft in a run down area. We are talking about the Florida panhandle that is caving everyday. I also checked Virginia Beach, ************ the real estate is horrible! Just for even a room in someones house for rent is upwards of 600-700 dollars! What the hell I am seeing here?
Everybody better be ready for
BEN-FLATION!
Michael,
Is there always hope? I’m at the end of the road myself. I keep trying but I can’t detect anything to be hopeful about. I have $3 left, a quarter-tank of gas (in a car that will be repo’d as soon as they can find it), no prospects, no family that can help etc. My last hope is a job that I’ve successfully interviewed for… they haven’t decided yet. If the answer is no, I may run the exhaust into the car and take a nap. There isn’t ‘always’ hope.
Cosmo:
No matter what you can always turn things around. There are always people that will help you.
Yes, things are hard right now, but we have to remember that our lives are not about what the world system gives us.
There are many, many stories of people who have been homeless that have gone on to great things.
But we should base our happiness on the things that we own anyway. The truth is that Jesus was even homeless.
If you are looking for meaning in life, I encourage you to read the following article….

No new taxes. Cut the spending cut the size of government. Get off the back of business and we can heal.
michael
I notice a lot more advertising on your site. Congratulations. Hope it won’t come at the cost of human life. Twenty screaming articles each summarizing twenty reasons to believe we are doomed cannot be balanced by one little reminder that we are humans with souls that can survive together. Everyone has a different breaking point and each of us has responsibility for other. Some of us have a bigger responsibility than others. I hope you are not going too far. I will say a prayer for you.
You only live one day at a time. It is never so bad, that you can’t get through one more day.
The Sun will rise in the morning. Tomorrow is a new day.
As our host said: If you are trying to figure it out, turn to the Lord. Not religion, but to the Word.
With that said, I will address the “tax the rich” stupidity.
You do not get more of something, by taxing it.
If you lived in a neighborhood, where everyday you got robbed, how long would it take you to leave that place?
You really think that the “rich” are going to stay here? get real.
I would like to know, how do you inform your friends and family of the impending collapse and to prepare for it with out looking crazy. Most people I speak to think that I am a conspiracy nut. All the signs of hyperinflation, are all around us. I guess the few of us who see’s what is happening will be ready and prepared and everyone else will end up suffering the consequences.
Believer:
That is why I quote so many statistics in my articles. When you come to people with hard facts and hard numbers they may be more likely to listen to you.
Michael
Oh my, which is worse, the well crafted global fiat paper implosion or the stasi fascist homeland nazi tyranny structure ready and willing to stomp you in face-forever? I just can’t seem to decide myself. So much to choose from, low level street dealers serving years for a pocket full of blow or Wachovia Bank laundering 378billion in drug cartel cash and receiving only a 110million dollar fine(sickeningly hilarious don’t you think?). Or how about the ‘Green Police’ checking your rubbish bins and waste cans to make sure you are recycling properly, or the U.S. led NATO forces firing depleted uranium rounds by the ton in every nation we seem to end up in? Or how about those pesky mujahideen fighters we were bombing and chasing in Afghanistan and Iraq or the very same mujahideen we are arming in Libya and providing air support and minute by minute intel via our beloved CIA? Up is Down, War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery…..if this society doesn’t drive you crazy, well, then obviously you already were to begin with.
I’m with Charlie Shkleen on this one. The rating entities have no real credibility. They only have imputed credibility, out of habit and inertia. Hardly a sound basis for plotting our economic probabilities. How can anyone offer up the ratings of these raters with a straight face?
These 24 points can be summed up in part as follows: Faith in the American economy is collapsing, and unsustainable disparities have developed in wealth, power, and access to the fundamentals.
Matt…..why don’t you do the corporate welfare speal for us please………..the Robber Barrons are back with a vengence and if yoiu are not part of that cabal then you are a duped shill for them.
Believer in Christ….Hyper inflation is not the problem, Inflation is too many dollars chasing too few products. The price increases in food and fuel is robbery giving the feel of inflation. We are in a deflationary depression which is worse and it will be the biggest shock this world has ever seen………..I know what you mean by not trying to sound crazy, my family will not listen.
Matt-you are 100% wrong on everything you said. It is your side that has destroyed this country with your selfish I got mine and the hell with you.
Just about everything that is wrong in this country is the result of conservatism. I am not saying this to make folks mad I really believe it and fortunately a lot of other people do also.
One election and recall at a time we will take back our country from the right with President Obama leading us into a much brighter future. Single payer, secure retirement and a more Scandinavian type of social safety net.
When we had control of the government we did not go far enough in this direction. We will not fail in this again. With the Ryan plan for destruction the right is toast. And the best you have is the train wreck donald trump? How many times did he go bankrupt?
If the rich do not want to be taxed they can move to Somalia. They will then not have to deal with the pesky government taxing them. Good Riddance!
Looking at unemployment stats in the manner you did here – simply as the portion of people (or men) working – is the only sensible way to look at it. That gives us the real picture, as opposed to the ridiculous “% of people working that are currently ‘looking for a job’” that Big Brother uses.
As for that Atlanta gang attack… well, I’m not so sure those zombies have any idea what’s happening to the economy. That’s just pure evil in action. It could have happened at the height of the dot-com boom too. But will that sort of thing become more common? Oh yeah.
Hey Matt,
This is the welfare mob you talk about:
Filthy rich pricks, who don’t want to pay their FAIR SHARE of taxes, LIKE they SHOULD. Yes, if you make over 250G a year your taxes should be higher. Why? Because first off, the system has always been like that(more you make more UNCle sam takes. its the sign of a just society that those who reap the benefits of their often handed down riches share them with those who have not had those benefits), second the wealthy always lower their tax rate with massive deductions and never pay on their full income. Plus, We need taxes to run shit, and if we stopped pouring it all into MILITARY SPENDING we’d have some money to spend on fixing our schools, repairing our roads, funding real health care.
A few quick, if not easy, solutions to fixing america
1-CUT MILITARY SPENDING, banish the military machine and stop getting involved in wars, for profit and oil. Cut out companies like Haliburton. WAR is the only commodity the US now produces. We love killing and all the monies that come with weaponry and arms.
2-DISMANTLE the EVIL MIDDLE MAN- Health INSURANCE COMPANIES AND SET UP A ONE CARE PAYER SYSTEM WHERE DOCS GET REIMBURSED DIRECTLY BY THE GOVT.
A-our taxes pay for this. We pick a doctor of our choice call and make an apptmt. NO approval by health insurance companies, who soak us. Health should not be a for profit industry. Docs are compensated well for neccessary services rendered
3- The monies we could save by downsizing, if not eliminating, the military would pay for all health care, education, road repair, job creations.
4-TAX THE hell OUT OF US COMPANIES THAT TAKE THEIR BUSINESS OVERSEAS AND DESTROY THE AMERICAN LABOR FORCE. tax them at such high rates that it will be cheaper
to hire US Workers, instead of exploiting those overseas so these greedy pigs can fill their pockets thousands time over.
A-BOYCOTT those companies that choose to continue do business overseas, so their profit margins become losses.
5-RAISE TAXES. Yeah, I said it, nothing comes for free. But like in Europe we would at least get something for our tax buck.
Early retirement, health insurance, protection against poverty.
Call it SOCIALISM. I call it FAIRNESS AND HUMANISM.
The rich are getting richer and majority of folks are getting much poorer. This can’t continue too much longer until things get out of control.
I see a day where masses of people descend on Wall St. and cut the throats of all the bankers as they exit their offices. It will be a day of
reckoning.
All is not lost. There is still hope to save the country we knew and loved in our youth. It’s not the same place today. Time is getting very, very short.
Cosmo: Even when you’re down and out and feel life is hopeless, there is still a light at the end of the tunnel (and no, it’s not an oncoming train). I’ve been unemployed for a good while now, and have gotten to the point where printing out resumes only results in having to buy new printer toner cartridges every 2 weeks. And yet, I press on. Not much else to do.
Tax the rich. Yea I am sure that will solve everything. There are so many nice tax free countries. Now would be the best time for the wealthy to get the hell out of dodge. They will just move and be living fat and happy in the Cayman islands.
Raising taxes on the nations employers should do the trick of finishing off what is left of our economy.
More brilliant solutions from the ignorant left.
Tax the corporate profit, increase minimum wage.
Then the company is threatening to go abroad?
LOL. Let them go. Let them go to Libya, or to Yemen, or Saudi. Or maybe even to China or India or Vietnam.
Globalisation also means one thing: it’s everywhere the same.
Believer
I buy and stock food. I just don’t tell my family. I hide the food between my books, and tools, boxes that held magazines before now hold packs of rice and cans of veggies that expire in 2014. All looks the same, just like before.
I just found another possible location: behind the panel under the bathtub.
And I sell my books. One crime paperback brings me 2 pounds of rice, hidden in a box under the bookshelf.
My CDs lose their plastic cover. the space won is filled with cans.
The home did not change, just don’t open any drawer.
Believer
You said, “everyone else will end up suffering the consequences”.
If this plays out as many expect (and more or less the math shows) it will get ugly for everyone. There is no way the quality and availability of everything will be there even for those with “real’ money. Much of the economy would not function simply because “they” did not prepare. Their consequences have become your consequences.
You can’t store but so much. Fighting to protect what little you have is one hell of a way to live.
Wait until the fall heating season kicks in. Oil is so high right now because of inflation. Now there are talks of Obama meddling with Syria. Any type of oil disruption will cause the dollar to drop and the price of oil to skyrocket. What is Obama’s answer to all this? put his 40 mile limit electric cars on the road and fill your yard with $40,000 in solar panels. http://www.shelter101.com/obama-with-empty-energy-solutions.html
The destruction of this country is entirely purposeful, and since that is beyond the sheeples imagination, it will work.
Excellent article as usual!!! To the believer in Christ!! I’ve learned over the course of my life and I’m 60 years old is too live the life of Christ as our example and not push our beliefs on anyone else!!! If they are interested after watching your life in FAITH, they may begin to ask some questions!!! We must remember that the Holy Spirit does not force anyone to believe in Christ, but will continue to strive and impress righteous thoughts to a individual so they can make a conscience choice to either know and believe in Christ or take the way of the world. Michael has many good things too say because he backs them up with statistics and investigation, and there is a group of people that will only listen to cold hard facts!!!
Karen is right.
Gary2 will not get what he wants as more of us drop out of the above-board economy and tax revenues fall (the only winning move is to refuse to play).
I always like to hear the rich holleyweird stars et al preach wealth redistribution (just not THEIR wealth).
The S & P announcement means nothing. They are blessed by the gubmint and were in on the MBS swindle. The USA’s creditors will provide the real rating downgrade.
I suspect that most of us are not as “prepped” as we would like to believe but every little bit helps.
12/21/12 google it
Is there a particular reason Gary2 still has his Cookie Monster icon and the rest of us are ASSIGNED these stupid cartoon ones? I want a Godzilla icon!
I bathed today in a GI canteen cup with Campsuds, hot rain water, and bandana – good feeling to be clean. If that’s not economic collapse…..well living in the national forest is better than public housing ghettos.
Its funny how some of you here.will sit and mock the sheeple and then turn and make your argument a political rant. They are the.smoke and mirrors… Both parties got us into this mess…
It really pisses me off because its like you almost get it but youre.still so ********** clueless and you probably will never quite get there.
A full 72 percent of adults approve of increasing federal taxes on households making more than $250,000 starting in 2013, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
Fifty-five percent of Republicans want the tax hike, along with 74 percent of independents and 83 percent of Democrats.
In case you need more convincing, an ABC News/Washington Post poll released this week asked a similar question. The results: Seventy-two percent of respondents want to raise taxes on the rich to help reduce the deficit, with a similar breakdown by political party.
ITS COMING FAST AND HARD! THE RICH WILL BE TAXED!
The mega corporations and banks (elite) have manipulated and polluted the politics and economics of every major country. They have also corrupted our schools, our entertainment, our laws, our sovereignty, almost everything…
Why?
Because by destroying all that is good (of God) in this world they believe they can control everything.
A nation that has no God is easily controlled.
A nation under God will fight for liberty and justice.
To bad the rich that will be taxed are the small business owners, doctors, lawyers, so on. Meanwhile those that make millions and billions will not have to pay taxes.
Wake up they want to tax people who keep what little life blood there is in this economy. The super rich just sit on their money. Those makeing $250,000 put money in the economy.
Meanwhile the super rich will not pay any more when they raise taxes. They do not pay what they’re suppose to as it is right now. The millionaires and billionaires pay less tax than someone making $250,000.
I want some food !
Send me some food.
Gary2
Ok so the rich get taxed. i have no problem with that. Now explain to me the long term fix. Not the tax the rich and give to social programs but the traditional creator of wealth by making things.
Things are bad in America. After having just visited Florida, I agree that the US is in a downward spiral…
Personally, I don’t know what can be done to make things better. Is this my generation’s depression?
Both parties contributed mightily to the coming economic collapse. The Democrats are somewhat worse in their ignorant economic actions. Taxing the rich will not solve the problem.
Americans are good people as a whole, however, they are just to trusting! The US government is corrupt as it can get. Tell the voters what they want to hear, then do what they please.
I think we will experience a dollar crisis anong with multiple crises at one time in our near future.Governments around the world keep sweeping their problems under the rug. Although, one day there will be just to much dirt under the rug, and that´s when the crises will be apparent to general population of the world – mostly US citizens.
This will not end in a pleasnt fashion. I foresee, a possible world war, and or an econimic world war – which I beleive we are in the midst of.
The so called rich folks didn’t get that way by being stupid. I’m more than sure that most of them already have exit strategies. In any event, you can tax all of the rich 100% and it wouldn’tcome close to solving the debt problem. How bout doing away with waste like the dept. of energy. It was started under carter to get us off dependance to foriegn oil. That worked well. They employ around 30,000 people. FOR WHAT? Wake up folks runaway govt is what is killing us.
The economy will not get better any time soon, get use to it. Times will only get better after a total economic collapse. When the illeagal immigrants quit getting the handouts and return to their homeland, when the legal immigrants quit receiving more money from Social Security and welfare programs than I do after I pay my taxes. When the lazy quit getting rewarded for being just plain lazy. AND MOST OF ALL!!!! All that same CRAP comming from Washington that I’ve been hearing for 40 years changes, it will not get better. As I said at the beginning, Get use to it. The big one is on its way!
