I disagree: Direct Democracy works – it functioned for Switzerland and it functions for Iceland and Venezuela…plebiscites…
The central point is: Decentral organisation – no Centralism as the Federal Reserve System of the FED, fought by Ron Paul and his son!
The key to success of direct Democracy is: Strong Federalism!
The present European Union EU is a centralistic construct, a non democratic buerocracy concentrated in Bruessel….as in former Sowjet Union with Moskau and Eastern Germany with Eastern Berlin…it should be a European Union with strong regions and national staates as independent republics, like the members of the EFTA (Switzerland Norway, Iceland…)….

The Scandinavian states have a successful Economy with a strong middle class, where most people are working and generating the most jobs…
Another sucessful economic example is Switzerland, and is Iceland and is Canada…or Chile…
protectionism works better than neoliberal free trade and Monetarism of Milton Friedman…or the proven wrong economic politics of austerity!

Direct democracy doesn’t work either – look at CA. It sounds lovely and is a great concept and has been successful for a country with 8M people, but there is no way it translates to a society with 300M. Apples and watermelons my friend…

Uh, I don’t remember mentioning Africa.

The big problem that most people giving me a interesting time here are failing to realize is that the LGBT community is being tracked and scrutinized because of the HIV outbreak. That’s what disturbs me. The other disturbing problem is the LGBT community as a whole is not taking precautions that led to the outbreak.

As for HIV’s origins or being a biological weapon; I’m not concerned about that possibility. More concerned about what it’s doing and what civilization can do to beat it. Besides, HIV seems more likened to the black death that wiped out half of Europe in the middle ages. This new outbreak of Ebolavirus is transmitted in similar ways to HIV and the black death. Some folks of European descent have been known as immune carriers of HIV; believed to come as a leftover from surviving the black death.

If the LGBT people (they are people) need to be tracked to save lives, then I think some more honesty about such programs and actions is definitely needed from the agencies and govs to prevent abuse.

Uh I hate be the bringer of bad tidings dude but what this guy said is true. It goes on in Cali already and in fact it is just “coming out” ha ha. You won’t believe me but they fund these think health tanks and then they used to give free gift cards and other goodies and then track them and send to NSA Law Enforcement also.
It is ongoing and relates to other “projects”.

You know exactly what I said. If you have a problem with what I said, then contact CDC, WHO, State of New York, and State of Illinois as to why they must track the LGBT citizens. You can add your math of HIV and AIDS in the general populace as an extension of my post, which is fine.

There are approximately 10.8 million (3%) LGBT people in the US, compared to about 350 million heterosexual people. I’m sorry, even if every LGBT person had an STD (which they don’t), that still would not overcome the number of heterosexual people with STDs. The math just isn’t there. Nice try though.
