At the moment, I'm still fighting bed bugs.
A few months ago I was going to sleep and I feeling something crawling on me, I just figured they were food crumbs since i'm just a lazy bum of a teenager, so I ignored it until finally one day, I saw it.. That brown, disgusting parasite called a bed bug crawling on my black sheet. I screamed as nearly any other teenage girl would do, then proceeded to check under my top mattress (I had 2). The sight was absolutely horrifying, there were huge spots in the seems of my mattress where adults were just crawling around like one of us on a walk through the park. it was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in my room. I never noticed and red bumps on my arms and legs, and it never itched until I discovered them on that night 4 months ago. So we took that mattress, threw gasoline on it, and burned it. I enjoyed watching them burn, thinking about all the parasitic bugs that would be metaphorically screaming for mercy. I sprayed my room, scrubbed my carpeted floors, swept the whole house that had no signs of any bugs, and set off a "bomb" of pesticide in my room. Once everything cleared out, I put my room back together. A few restless weeks pass and I finally begin to sleep a little better. i still woke up screaming and itching, and then I'd basically cry from the lack of control of myself. it was pathetic. I couldn't even sleep unless I called someone who talked to me until my body finally shut down for a bit. Of course, since I didn't find any signs of any bed bugs, I started to sleep better. Then one day, I just casually looked over and saw an adult crawling on a box of tissues, I instantly threw my sheets into the washer, and checked my bed. sure enough, they were there. So the tedious and tiresome process began again. I sprayed, cleaned and squished, making my own blood they feasted on spattered onto a tissue. I still cleaned, I thought this would be the final time. Maybe it was just the babies I didn't kill? Well, of course I was wrong again. A week later, there were nymphs crawling on my bed. The process happened again. The same cycle over and over and over again. Now, last night I found more. I found a massive female surrounded by my blood that was turned into fecal matter, and a few nymphs. I sprayed and stuffed fabric softener sheets everywhere. (they actually work on keeping them away) Even in my pillow case and on top of my blanket. Instead of sleeping in my shorts and tank top, I'd keep on a pair of skinny jeans and a tank top. Tomorrow I'm suppose to be doing a full clean through again with my dad. He said that if this doesn't work then we are just going to throw out the final mattress/box spring and buy a new set.
Which, I'd be okay with if we weren't in the economic situation we are currently in. I feel like a bother to my parents, since we need the money to pay off my car, their car, insurance, bills, utilities, and more bills. Even though, at the same time I'm sick of this. My once safe haven of a room doesn't even feel like my room anymore. So, now I've resorted to praying this last time will work. My hope has perished, but right now I'm hopeful that after this one last time, they'll be gone and I'll never have to be filled with anxiety before sleeping and downing melatonin to get some shut eye. I just want this to end. I wouldn't wish this upon anybody. Nobody deserves this anxiety, restless nights, money wasted, trashed dignity, slashed hope and slaughtered happiness. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.
Isn't it amazing how such a little bug can be such a big problem?

Thank you for this article and the comments were informative as well. I just want to correct one thing, though. Bed bugs are not actually completely harmless. They CAN kill. My nephew almost died after going into anaphylactic shock from a bed bug bite. It may not be common, but it can happen, so people should be aware.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/52538874@N05/7318050308/ If, you can kill the eggs at your bed, that is the key. If you determined heat treatment is too dangerous or expensive, now what ? The big picture is you have a ranch, your're raising Bed Bugs and using your bed as a corral. First, spray your bed or encase the bed to kill the eggs so you won't be overwelmed. Second, Make sure there are no problems with your bed. Nothing about your bed can be allowed the touch the wall or floor but the caster wheels. Third, the new corral for the Bed Bugs is a dim light going 24/7 where the Bed Bugs can be drawn to and removed with masking tape. Fourth, you spray the ceiling-wall line on two of the most distance walls from the dim light to move the Bed Bugs toward the light ,. Notes: Do not spray near the dim light or any other location, that will create a barrier to keep them from coming to the light. This dim light is most likely for life. As new Bed Bugs arrive at your home they will go to the light. Bed Bugs are drawn to you like Bees by your Co2. A fan moving air near your bed will mix your Co2 evenly in your bedroom, making it hard for Bed Bugs to find you. Every other day a light spray on your bed caster wheels will protect you. Those in the Bed Bug business won't be needed anymore. Please beware of baised replies from them. This method seems to be the "Silver Bullet" for Bed Bugs. This lure will provide detection, control for the home and car. The poorest people will be able to handle their infestions. This DIY project can be done for a very small cost of parts. This is a very "Green" method. For all living places and whole house treatment, the hallways will become giant traps. The lights are there, a $5.00 dimmer switch is needed and spray. Lightly place DE on hall traffic areas where people put their foot down. Careful: My new kitten made a mistake, near the light. I moved the litter box there. Later I found a live Bed Bug in it. When the Bed Bugs stop coming to the light they're gone, for now. If you have total control, you'll have complete relief. The Dim lights double for night lights and Bed Bug Control.

Hi There Theeconomiccollapseblog,
Cool Post, I have started off noticing some tiny bugs on the bed. They you should not search whatever like mattress bugs. This has commenced occuring now during winter. When I pulled the mattress to the aspect, most of them ended up hiding on the facet of the mattress which is to the wall.
Inquiries:
What style of bugs are these and are they unhealthy?
I schedule to maintain the bed in sunlight for a day?
Would that be enough to get rid of them?
What are your thoughts on how to clear this mattress so that I can resuse it?
Nice One!

Iimmigrants (legal or illegal) and refuges are not inspected for parasites, disease (malaria,TB)or any health issue. This has certainly led to the spread of bed bugs as well as intestinal parasites. Garments, sheets, and anything manufactured overseas is a probable source of these bed bug infestations. People open new packages of sheet thinking they are clean when all the while they can be and are infested with bed bugs. New clothing whould be cleaned or washed several times before wearing.

The worst infestation we are dealing with in this country is liberal politicians/activists who have nothing better to do than make life difficult for others with their ridiculous regulations. Eradicate all the liberal politicians from office for the next 20 years and see if this problem does not diminish within 5 years...Bedbugs are a minifestation of a bigger problem. Immigration and refugee laws must be changed not only from a health standpoint, but from an economic one.
