Children are always the casualties who never get heard. I think articles like these are very important because it shows up the lie that this nation is truly wealthy and shows that GDP is a very dishonest way of measuring economic success.
It’s enraging how the President can act like he loves children in the aftermath of tragic events like school shootings, yet not contribut one iota of empathy for America’s children in need. Pity.
I’m gonna do my best to help those around me, friend, enemy, or stranger. Ya’ll should do the same

Your right our food bank has many that don’t even know how to make veggie dishes. They pass on the good food.

To bad that 55 million they need to fix up GITMO couldn’t be used to feed people.
I think buying bulk oatmeal and beans and rice is a good idea. Many poor people I see buy boxed ready made food. Wich tastes horrible and costs more.

I see two large problems. One is the disconnect between government policy makers and the people. The government seems trapped in their agenda which seems to have little to do with human needs.

Parents fail also. They don’t seem to have any investment in their children, or at least not enough. Most needed skills can be provided by parents. Parents, also, seem to perpetuate what their parents provided as skills.

Both problems need intervention. Government needs to start paying attention to citizens. Parents need to become parents rather than just the producer of more babies.

Aside: I find it amazing to go to a grocery store and have the checkout clerk ask me what a produce items is. Huh? We are too far from our food.

Last year I took bushels of fresh peppers to my local food bank . When I went to deliver more they said no thank you . They could not give away the peppers they had.

And, if the Obamas were REALLY looking out for the children, they wouldn’t spend a billion dollars taking long, costly vacations. Some more money could go to their supposedly healthy school lunches, so the kids would have enough to eat.

The Obamas are the most self-indulgent people we have had in the White House since I started voting 50 years ago!
