Doom And Gloom

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Have you noticed that most Americans seem to know far more about American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Justin Bieber and their favorite sports teams than they do about world affairs?  Most Americans cannot even find Tunisia and Algeria on a map, and if you told them that food riots are happening in those nations right now most of them would not even care anyway.  We have become a very self-centered, self-involved and self-absorbed nation.  Quite a few people have accused this column of being obsessed with “doom and gloom”, but the truth is that the world really is falling apart out there.  What are we supposed to do?  Are we all supposed to stick our heads in the sand and pretend that everything is going to be okay?  Should we all not try to warn others so that they can prepare for what is coming?  Until people understand that we are facing absolutely massive problems they are not going to be motivated to take significant action, and hopefully those of us that are proclaiming “doom and gloom” are doing a good enough job of describing what is really going on out there that some people are starting to wake up and actually make changes.

Most Americans may not care, but the food riots that are starting to erupt around the globe are actually very serious.

Do you remember what happened back in the summer of 2008?

That summer, the price of oil spiked to an all-time high of $147 a barrel and that caused a substantial increase in the price of food all over the globe.  Suddenly millions of poor people couldn’t afford to feed themselves anymore and food riots erupted all over the world.

Well, here we are in 2011 and the price of oil hasn’t even reached $100 a barrel, and yet the food riots are already beginning.

Violent food riots are being reported in Tunisia, in Algeria, in Chile and in Mozambique.

In Tunisia, the riots have been so intense that the President of Tunisia, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, has been forced to step down and flee for his life.

Yes, that is how serious things are getting already.

Unfortunately, it looks like the global food situation is only going to get even worse.

Australia is a major food producer and right now they are experiencing flooding of Biblical proportions.  In fact, it has been reported that at one point the flooding covered an area greater than France and Germany combined.

In Brazil, another major food producer, horrific flooding has killed more than 500 people so far.  This flooding is being called the “worst-ever natural disaster” in the history of Brazil.

Meanwhile, record cold temperatures and record snowfalls are playing havoc with winter crops all over the Northern Hemisphere.

But even before all of these weather disasters struck the price of food had been going up significantly.  The UN recently announced that the global price of food hit an all-time high during the month of December, and world leaders all over the globe are openly expressing concern about what 2011 is going to bring.

Sadly, the truth is that there has been a trend of rising food prices for quite some time. According to Forbes, corn is up 94% since June, soybeans are up 51% since June, and wheat is up 80% since last June.

As one of my readers recently pointed out to me, it usually takes about six months for the prices of agricultural futures to filter down into the supermarkets.  So the very high prices for agricultural commodities that we are seeing right now should really start to be felt around the globe by the middle of 2011.

In addition to everything else, reports continue to come in of thousands of birds and millions of fish suddenly dying all over the globe, and nobody seems to really know what is causing it.

Do you want some more doom and gloom?

*There are reports of “panic buying” of silver and other precious metals right now.

*Investors are bailing out of municipal bonds at an absolutely staggering rate.

*S&P and Moody’s have both warned once again that the United States is in danger of having its credit rating slashed if it does not get government debt under control.

*U.S. housing prices have now fallen further during this economic downturn than they did during the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Meanwhile, America’s economic infrastructure continues to be taken apart piece by piece.

The United States is losing more jobs to China.  In fact, the United States is losing more high technology “green jobs” to China.

Evergreen Solar, a company that manufactures solar panels, is closing their factory in Devon, Massachusetts and they are moving their production facilities to China.  This is going to result in the loss of 800 good American jobs.

The following is what the company had to say in a statement about the move….

“Solar manufacturers in China have received considerable government and financial support and, together with their low manufacturing costs, have become price leaders within the industry.”

Is it any wonder that a recent survey found that 47 percent of Americans now believe that China is the world’s leading economic power while only 31 percent still believe that the United States is the world’s leading economic power?

As America continues to lose good jobs, millions of Americans find themselves simply unable to pay the bills.  In fact, at this point one out of every six Americans is now enrolled in at least one government-run anti-poverty program.

As things have fallen apart in the United States, many private citizens have tried to step forward and do what they can to help people, but now in many areas of the country the government is actually stepping in and shutting down these private avenues of assistance.

For example, in the city of Houston, Texas a couple named Bobby and Amanda Herring has been feeding homeless people for over a year.  They never left behind any trash and no trouble was ever caused.

But now the city of Houston is shutting them down.

Because they don’t have a permit.

So will they be able to get a permit?  Well, it turns out that city officials are saying that this “Feed a Friend” effort most likely will be denied one.

Apparently the city “officials” believe that the homeless “are the most vulnerable to foodborne illness” and that therefore the warm meals that the Herrings were providing for them were potentially dangerous.

Can you believe this?

This is what happens when political correctness and bureaucracy get wildly out of control.

Now it is illegal to go out and feed homeless people?

What is American turning into?

As the economy continues to fall part, the iron grip of the government is likely only going to get tighter as it desperately tries to keep order.

But do we really need to be giving tickets to 6-year-olds?

Yes, you read that correctly.

According to one recent report, police in Texas have given “1,000 tickets to elementary school children in 10 school districts” over the past six years.

For more examples of how America is turning into a police state, please see my recent article entitled “Almost Everything Is A Crime In America Now: 14 Of The Most Ridiculous Things That Americans Are Being Arrested For“.

America is rapidly becoming a very dark place.

The truth is that there is a reason why so many websites are now reporting so much “doom and gloom”.  Things really are getting bad out there.

Sadly, most Americans have only known tremendous prosperity all of their lives, so they can’t even conceive of what it would be like to go through difficult times.

Most Americans have been conditioned to believe that while we may have brief “recessions” once in a while, in the end our economy will always get better and the good times will continue to roll.

But the good news is that an increasing number of Americans are waking up and are trying to warn their family and friends about what is coming.

So do you believe that the food shortages and the food riots are going to get even worse throughout the rest of 2011?  Please feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts below….

Ten thousand years from now, who’ll remember or care?

  • I couldn’t agree with you more and I do the same but we are speaking to the choir. Those who were going to listen already have and the rest won’t know what hit them.

  • A Dodgy Bloke

A couple of things one there is something about the mass of modern humanity that for some strange reasion refuses to prepare for anything no matter how obvious the threat. Two westerners in general and Americans in paticular have had it way to easy for way to long.

I’ don’t think this blog is gloom and doom maybe the rhetoric is a little over the top sometimes, but you always have sources to back up your arguments. There’s a lot to be worried about and if you’re not at least taking a long hard look at your options you’re not paying attention.

Jack Spirko of the Survivor podcast once said it’s not the disaster that is the problem but how people react to it. Anybody who is semi prepared caught in a major city even if they have a fairly food group around them, will have to contend with not only those self absorbed fools who didn’t prepare, but state local and federal Government willing to grab anything of value, on any trumped up pretence to stay in power one more day.

Nice dose of the truth, my wife is one of the type’s who choses not to accept reality. Evidently the emotional stress of what’s going on is to enormous for some folks so they retreat to the Bread and Circus routine. Mainstream garbage TV and petro chemical GMO garbage snack processed non-food abound for the fat slow people who choose this path. Good luck to the few who remain in reality, any attractive green eyed blond Russian women out there that want to escape with me to Alaska or Idaho/Montana, please drop me an email.

Max Keiser just had a great show on the commodities rise …

What we are seeing is a shortage of product and a lot of “hot money” seeking yield …

  • The real Doom and Gloom is no one is preparing for the changes that are going to happen. The Federal Reserve has pinned this country down so bad that there is no way out. Our economy is basically a catch 22 now. Your screwed if the Federal Reserve gets the debt ceiling increase and counties dump the inflated dollar, and your screwed if they print money to pay off the interest on Treasuries by hyperinflation kicking in. I have this bad feeling the remaining 98% unprepared will starve or die from the looting. There is only one way out and that is a balanced budget, and that will not happen. I think 2011 or 2012 may be a year marshal law is imposed.

We will…when standing before God. Our actions will echo for eternity, our anscestors understood this more clearly. Sadly, slick advertising and numerous toys keep us perpetualy insecure, confused, and wanting more.

    Ten Thousand Years?

At our current rate of earth abuse we will be lucky to last 100 years.

  • flubadub

Imagine for the sake of argument that the automobile was invented in 2010 and its inventor was trying to get approval to operate his 4,000 lb. vehicle at 45 mph ten feet away from pedestrians on the adjacent sidewalk. In our current regulatory invironment? Not a chance. How about an invention that packed 300 people into an aluminum tube to be jet propelled coast to coast flying over heavily populated cities in the process? No way. OK then maybe we can pipe explosive gas throughout the continent and into millions of homes for the purposes of heating and cooking. Well, no that’s also too dangerous. Well can we at least get permission to give a starving homeless man a bowl of chili? Preposterously risky!
Fact is, we couldn’t even have begun to develop as a society if today’s powerdrunk bureaucratic dictators reigning over the subjects in their fiefdoms were empowered during our Country’s heydays. What can’t be legislated is regulated and we’re gradually being regulated out of even basic human compassion.

  • It it possible that the world’s explosive rate of population growth just might have something to do with the world having fewer resources per capita and thus higher prices for commodities like oil and for stuff like arable land and freshwater? Is it possible that Malthusian concepts also apply to humans and not just to the populations of wolves and rabbits?

  • gloomy future

‘Ten thousand years from now, who’ll remember or care?’

The Clock of the Long Now will remember. Stu Brand et al (Wired Magazine guy) have built their 10,000 year mechanical alarm clock to remember! Then they just have to let Derrick Jensen (read his books like “Endgame Vol 1&2”) come in with Anarchists and
Black Panthers (vol.1 p.250) to take down the power grid and kill off 2/3 of the U.S. population. The Clock will be all that’s left to remember!!

The reply from Tatiana is atypical of a solution for the dark state of America. Yes indeed it is a dark time for America, because we have mindless individuals similar to Tatiana that can’t or won’t contribute to the possible solutions of getting us all out this hell hole that is coming down upon us every second of the each day that passes.

My question to Tatiana is real simple: Do you care that you will be soon (or perhaps you already are) sailing down the river with out a paddle or paddles?

I agree that 10,000 years from now, who’ll remember or care, but is that really relevant Tatiana? What then is really relevant?

Is it the fact that we’re fighting illegal wars over in the Middle East?

Is it the fact that Hank Paulson stole $200 million from the Treasury of the United States while he was the Secretary of Treasury and nobody says anything about it? He walks scot-free? I heard his testimony on CSPAN with my own ears and eyes. Al Capone must be rolling over in his grave thinking, “Why the hell didn’t I ever amount to something and become the Treasury Secretary? What else is relevant?

Oh, what about the 28 Trillion dollars that was pumped out from the Federal Reserve to banks all over the world and Ben Bernanke tells Congress, “No, we’re not going to tell you where the money went.”

What about the 2009 Christmas Day Underwear Bomber snafu? Two lawyers testified that the underwear bomber was let on the plane and subsequently it was later admitted by a State Department employee that yes indeed, the underwear was let on by an unknown intelligence officer. I guess that is not relevant?

What about the obvious rise of a Police State in America?

What about all the unemployment and U6 and other unemployment data that is no longer used to calculate true unemployment?

What about the Copenhagen summit last year and the hard core evidence that was released proving that there was clear fraud in the measurement of global climate within the past 10 or 15 years, perhaps longer?

What about Phil Jones from the East Anglia University who admitted (in quotes) “For the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.”

I could go on and on Tatiana, but like you said, “Why should you give a damn.” That’s really what you meant to say. Beleive me Tatiana, you’ll give a damn when you’re sailing down the river without a paddle or paddles. Beleive you me, I say!

  • copan_dan

I would rather be at least half way prepared for doom&gloom than be completely blind sided.

Obama has been the harbinger of doom for me. His hard right solutions to America’s woes put the nail in the coffin for even a quasi democracy in America.

I’m completely cynical now and see all of Washington working for the plutocratic/military complex. I believe this plan has been in the works for many decades and Bush’s 8 years of destruction, catapulted by “Made in USA 9/11”, laid the ground work for the big push to police state. Obama appears to be speeding up the process as if they expect a bunch of people to wake up soon.

The story of the Houston couple being stopped from feeding the homeless is extremely troubling to me. It reminds me of what Israel does to the
Palestinians by blocking supplies there by keeping the people weak and demoralized and easy to control.

Indeed, “What is American turning into?”

Someone please tell me I’m wrong.

  • Christine

And we are all but a vapor…

  • D Rumsfeld

‘So do you believe that the food shortages and the food riots are going to get even worse throughout the rest of 2011?’

    Much worse.

  • mondobeyondo

    Typical American consumer’s mindset:

“Who cares about the rest of the world, as long as I get what I want!”

  • Bill Thomas

That may be true, but if everyone thought like that there would be no universities, hospitals, great works of art and literature, medical discoveries, etc. The thing is, man(and woman)need something to do between the time they’re born and the time they die.

  • Since the Fed is giving away trillions to mega banks in bailouts it’s not so much about the money anymore. It’s about control, control over the people. And how do you do that? Control the food. The reason corn and soybean prices are doubling is Monsanto has nearly total control over these products. They are GMO’s and only grow if sprayed with Round-Up and are terminator seed technology. Fifty farmers per day commit suicide in India (drinking Roundup) because their cotton crops are failing. They are failing because they were forced to use Monsanto GMO cotton seeds. This is happening around the world, just look at the food riots. Being denied to feed the homeless in Houston sends the message to all Americans now that the Fake Food Safety Act is law. Don’t mess with the food! Government rrrrr Monsanto controls the food now, and we will feed you when we want, not when you want.

Taxes are just too high, and are going up, only to make things worst. Some places are raising property taxes by 70%, some are raising income taxes by 70% to pay for their excesses with no end in sight! “LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS! TAXES SHOULD BE LOWERED INSTEAD!

  • VegasBob

Michael asked: What is American turning into?

The US is turning into a Nazi police state. The police state is supported by both political parties, albeit for different reasons. The Democrats want a nanny state to control people’s lives while the Republicans want a religious state to control people’s lives.

History shows that countries which undergo profound economic decline always turn into totalitarian police states. The Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and Red China are three of the biggest examples.

As for the US, this summer we will see the return of $4 gasoline, and food prices will continue to skyrocket. At some point the US government will lose all credibility as to its fiscal stability. At that point, when soldiers patrol the streets, looters are shot on sight and food and gasoline are rationed, most of us will come to believe that we have lived just a little bit too long.

  • Michael

Hey Tatiana Covington, will there be anyone LEFT in 10,000 years from now who will not remember or care?

  • Tatiana, that is not the point, as I’m sure you know. What does your question have to do with the price of tea in China? Not a damn thing. We live in the here and now, not 10,000 years from now. We have to find a way to work through the here and now into tomorrow and the day after without too much of a struggle, especially those of us with children…that we would kind of like to survive if you don’t mind. Not one of us has a thing to worry about 10,000 years from now. Not even your stupid question, thank god. What a joke.

  • No way am i going to go to florida for a holiday with the way things are going in the states that looks, not like, but worse than 1930’s Germany unless i find a fetish for having my bit touched by the TSA guards.

TPTB are doing all they can to control the internet and this is our platform to fight back aginst these facist corporations that bribe our politicians and judges.

I have been buying up physical silver on the dip in prices like many others around the world and you can tell j.p morgan is playing ball because the more people buy, the more the price goes down so lets keep playing this game and see where it all ends.

Also i’ve been keeping a good stock of food in the house but because our goverment here in the UK fears its own people I am only able to keep a pea shooter for self defence in the house whilst our facist police now think they are so powerfull that they can simply ban any protests and no one would turn up.

  • Jack E.

The opinion from Tatiana Covington is typical of the majority of Americans that play like children while their future burns along with their children’s future.

I know many adults that say this same thing and refuse to take any kind of action at all to Make a better life for their families and instead of taking a little time to help with this depression just sit back and wait for their welfare check to arrive so they can go and buy another toy that was designed for a child to entertain them self with. It seems that Americans grow up today in body but their intelligence is left in the day care center.

  • david

I certainly agree with this website as usual that the serious crisis is ahead, no doubt about it. Anyone with an educated guess should agree that The United State of American is in trouble and so as the rest of the world. Doom and Gloom are about to unfold themselves!

And as for the awareness of American people, I have to admit the majority of people in this country are basically dumbed down.

So many stupid dumb F%&$· people in this country——Late George Carlin, Comedian.
No disrespect to anyone, but I think it is time to wise up, wake up and realize what is going on around the world and be prepare for what should come ahead!

I’ve been watching this coming our way for years. Please go to this link: Listen to the past podcasts. Jack is a fabulous speaker. You’ll be hooked with the very first one you listen to. Also join here: to learn about peaceful solutions to all of this.

Yes as insane as it sounds things are clearly getting bad. It is a slow motion train wreck. Every day we see another small business gone. Another vacant store front. It is in slow motion but it is really getting noticeable. The banks financing these commercial buildings are rapidly getting into trouble. Soon the banks will start to fail at alarming rates. My adult kids (25-30) are not even aware this is happening. Too busy with the bar scene, what color underwear that Paris Hilton is wearing, Tanning, fingernails, It’s a joke. Meanwhile the slow motion train wreck continues. Personally I am ready and unknown to my kids I have been secretly stashing away, guns, silver, food, fuel, and medicine. When the time comes we will be ready, we will survive. I hope the head of families across our country take this situation seriously, because when everybody realizes that we are in trouble, it will be too late. Unfortunately that day of reckoning is almost here.

  • Ryan

I love your site, keep it up. I always try and forward your posts to friends and family – who knows if they actually read them. It’s unfortunate that you MUST keep preaching the DOOM and GLOOM all the time because you are one of the only ones out there telling the truth! God bless you, and thank you for keeping us who care, informed.

  • Laura

How much of this food inflation, I wonder, is the result of the Fed printing dollars and exporting inflation?

  • Jeremiah the Biblical Prophet must have been a lonely man. Noah was ignored. Most of the prophets of old were persecuted for their message. Adam and Eve ignored the warning given to the by God. It seems we never learn or listen to warning, we ignore that is right before our eyes. Christ have mercy on our people.

  • BJ99-MD

Most Americans aren’t remotely aware of what is happening in this country. We are being told everything is slowly getting better. The few that bother to watch the news are getting bombarded with celebrityitis, fashion, diet, cooking, and “reality” show super enthusiasm. Everything except relevant news. What is really happening is being kept hidden — so people won’t panic.

  • bobschaeffer

I work for a bridge company and I will attest to the fact that america is crumbling. We do not have the money (the state). The general thought is we will never be out of work. But this is the thinking of those that dont think farther than sunday football. We are broke!
Excellent site and article. My comment is most people don’t wake up until they feel the PAIN. thank you for the work

  • Kerry

I think you’re half right. It’s the younger generation who is lacking the empathy and who can’t find countries on the map. We babyboomers received good educations and morals from our parents. This nation is falling apart just as much a the rest of the world. With attitudes like Tatiana’s (above) our futures are in for a world of hurt.

  • I think this to be a timely article. Only yesterday I commented on the food shortage issue in an e-mail I send each trading day to Subscribers to, a website focused on Resource Stocks Research. I made my comment under the heading “Food Shortages and Consequences”. My comment was: “I think it worth your (our Subscribers) while to read an article titled ‘Price Shocks, Food Shortages and Global Economic Riots in 2011?’ – reading time 4 minutes. While one might argue that the article sets out a somewhat extreme view, I think it worthwhile to consider that it might not be doing that. There is little question the world’s population continues to grow exponentially, and that much of the world lives in poverty. Like many articles generated in America, this article ( in my view focuses to much on what the factors it cites may mean to Americans. In my view it is more important to think about what lack of food, bad weather, world population growth, resource prices, etc. may mean on a world scale. In my opinion a good article to read and think seriously about, irrespective of whether you invest in precious metals and resource equities, and equities generally – although it strikes me that the trends discussed in this article may well bear positively on many commodity prices, and hence on the shares of the companies that produce those commodities”.

I enjoy the comments on this ‘Doom and Gloom’ blog, and often recommend it to my readers. I also tell my readers to read extensively on macro-economic issues and then ‘form their own opinions and adjust their opinions as world economic circumstances and events unfold’.

ten thousand years??? How about next month?? You wont be alive in thousands of years, as the man just said, Americans are more worried about the biggest loser or american idol, than what is happening right across the border in Mexico. I think americans have been greedy and nefarious in using their wealth to kill and grab other peoples goods. the time is coming, and that time right soon, when what goes around, is going to come around to the USA.

Good article. Much food for thought in these “interesting times.” The self-absorbed are not going to act until it is too late. They will just change the channel on their remote and have another beverage until the trouble comes through the door. This is our country, our respective states, our communiities, our neighbors and friends who will be affected. We must continue to tell folks the truth. True enough in ten thousand years, who will care? Somebody who holds time in his hands and will judge our actions– he cares. What you sow so shall you reap.

    Note to Tatiana:
Unfortunately, we are not living “ten thousand years from now”
We are living right now and the wheels are coming off.

We are suffering from the common human malady – normalcy bias. We somehow believe that the bad things we see on TV just can’t happen to us, thus we fail to make any real effort to minimize our downside exposure (prepare).

WE have an excellent opportunity to help the unfortunate overseas, but an even greater one to connect with and help our neighbors prepare. If we do the easy things now, the hard things won’t be so hard later.

    It’s getting rather late…

As the economic pie contracts individuals, corporations and government fight over the remaining slices. Any guess in what order who or what will retain the biggest pieces the longest?

  • John Smith

good point tatiana. it won’t matter a bit. that being said, it matters now because if you are on the wrong side of the fence, it’ll be painful, and nobody likes to suffer (i mean, no one who doesn’t suffer from some psychopathology that is.) either way, this is so big that if all the doom&gloom reports are true, your only chance at maintaining your current standard of living is to be already positioned in such a way as to enjoy some measure of financial or political leverage (this means you can acquire assets that won’t devalue and which will enable you to continue providing for yourself and family when everyone else will be broke and begging). short of that, you’ll be part of the poor masses huddling together for warmth and shelter under some nondescript bridge.

“We have become a very self-centered, self-involved and self-absorbed nation.”

Thanks Tatiana for proving the above point.

  • Michael2

A quick comment about the phrase “New Normal” many media talking heads are using lately. It is what I like to call the mainstream media’s psycho-babble-double-code-speak and it means, “We got ours, F*ck You”.

On to the topic at hand, I must admit I am a little sensitive about criticisms leveled against every day Americans. So when I read Americans are “very self-centered, self-involved and a self-absorbed nation” I get a little defensive. I think the state of mind of many Americans could be better described as possibly naïve, gullible and having a case of misplaced trust. In my opinion Americans have been left down by at least the 109th, 110th, and probably the 111th Congress too. The last several Presidents, including the current one so far, fit into this category as well. Many trusted and believed in what they were told, they believed in law and order. Many thought America had strong leaders that would keep the things that are happening, from happening. American’s were led to believe, that leaders believed in what they were saying and the American credo. Many believed the leaders were doing what they said they were doing. Most American’s thought they had leaders that were smart enough to realize that ultimately their best interests lie in having a successful America. Most Americans also thought the leaders had enough commonsense to realize the future success of their own families and friends ultimately was and is tied to how well they did their jobs. I would say to a degree we Americans are self-centered, self-involved and a self-absorbed nation but I think the above holds more true, than this phrase of adjectives.

As far as ‘doom and gloom’ America clearly has an increasing 3rd World feel and atmosphere to it. It seems to me we average Americans are being treated more and more like the Native Americans were treated. People are loosing land, homes, identities, rights to natural resources and more. To be honest, it increasingly feels like the power structure could careless how many of us suffer at this point. Millions of Americans are and millions more to come, will be homeless just like Haitians. The violence level and societal discord looks more and more like what is going on in some parts of Africa as well. Many police forces have also been largely militarized. It also seems like they feel they cannot build enough prisons, fast enough, to put us in. Our education system is in rapid decline. And given the state of medicine, it seems like the power structure could careless about how many of us get sick or dies either.

Granted America is not as bad off yet as some of the above countries. And I still think many would rather have tough times here in America, rather than any were else in the world, including me. But there are too many issues, I think, in the scenarios that define 3rd World status, which we are fast approaching a tipping point in and we could end up as bad, if not worse than some of the countries of the 3rd World. Some people are thinking things are going to get so bad that governments, scientists and private citizens have contingency plans like space stations, seed vaults, genetic arc’s and underground bunkers. If earth becomes that bad that we need another “Noah’s Arc” I for one, would rather be dead. I personally think these contingency plans are fool’s missions and those efforts, funding and talents could be better used to help establish a better reality. I’d like to know if the earth is in shambles; a resource depleted, war torn and a toxic waste land, how do we support a space station on a “save humanity mission”? I’d like to know how long those who seek escape in underground bunkers expect to live there after a nuclear holocaust, when earth’s surface would be a radio active wasteland for decades, if not centuries. And I question the whole ‘genetic arc thing’ too, not so much for the other creatures but for us. I am not so sure a future earth would not be better off without us present!

For humanity being a self proclaimed higher intelligence and superior species, the ultimate center piece creation of a higher intelligence, we sure seem to be going out of our way to destroy every thing like a fatally flawed and inferior species. In this scenario what person or groups justly gets the finger of blame pointed at them for the state of affairs on earth?

Some people care, some people don’t. I care.

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
    is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom

  • It’s very sad to see people hiding their heads in the sand and not wanting with their own free choice to just how bad things really are! Things are going to get very bad in 2011 to the degree that there will be major rioting in the U.S. over the escalating price of food!!! This is exactly what is foretold in prophecy about the closing moments in Earths history before Jesus Christ starts the Great Tribulation!!! A possible date of interest according to prophecy is August 24th, 2011 which the day, month, new moon, year, and millennium all line up for a possible start of the Great Tribulation!!! All we can do is wait and see, but please, please prepare in the meantime and go to: and for serious information about this coming Prophetic collapse of Earth’s history while you can!!!

The situation is going to get so ugly in the US that is possible a massive outflow of US citizens to Mexico. Buy gold and silver while there’s still time, the profits will be talk about for generations.

Apparently the best way to avoid illness from food-born disease (according to Houston city officials) is to quit eating.

  • Piglet

The real reason Houston doesn’t want homeless people fed is because they would prefer the homeless to leave town in search of food. They way they see it, feeding them is like feeding stray dogs and cats – it only encourages them and increases their numbers, which the city sees as mostly black and Mexican, two groups they’d like to see decrease. Hard to believe? Come now, this is Texas, folks. Take a hard look at the history of civil rights in Texas.

  • Matt

Well, you might care in one year from now when you have nothing to eat.

The sooner the economy collapses the better, so a new economic system can be put into place (most likely managed by the IMF under a new world reserve currency). At this point ordinary Americans should start preparing themselves for the demise of the US Dollar.

  • RobertTheGreyBeard

Not sure what your point is. Really, what is the point of life anyway. For me, there are times where it does seeming meaningless and a cosmic waste of time. However, given the fact that you and I are here, involved in this discourse, short of killing myself, the other alternative is to try to make the best of it.

Somewhere in-between having one’s head in the sand and drinking the Koolaid is the reality of what the next few years will bring. I’d rather at least try to make some preparations rather that simply allow myself to be washed away by the tsunami.

    Doom And Gloom?

Sure maybe now, but things are looking up. The Bank of China has just decided to allow anyone in the United States to open a bank account in Chinese currency at their United States branch. Now Americans won’t have to depend on the worthless Dollar and can get on with their lives and have some hope – the perfect solution to all the problems we only thought we had.

Now everyone, not just sophisticated Forex traders will have a choice in currencies. It will be simple enough for the average American to understand and participate in – I wonder which choice Americans will make – Yuan or Dollars? Soon the natural progression of things should lead to the same type of accounts being available at American banks. And even better yet, after a short while Yuan (or whatever) will only be available in digital currency making it a lot more convenient for all approved users.

But hold on a minute, if the accounts become available at American? banks, wouldn’t it have to be the U.S. Banking Authorities that would have to allow that?

Probably – since it is also the U.S. Banking Authorities that would have to allow the initial accounts at the Bank Of China AND NOT!!!! the Bank Of China that would allow those accounts as was stated in the deceptive lying treasonous Main Stream Media news article where I found out about this!!!!

But maybe I’m wrong – it could be that the Bank OF China already has that authority – what do I know? Maybe my U.S. Representative didn’t vote the way he told me he would, or maybe a vote was not even needed for this – what do I know? Or maybe all of the regulators are in someones pocket – what do I know? Or maybe everybody in Washington D.C is a corrupt NWO traitor to the principles that made this country great and hate those principles – what do I know?

The Chinese have the patience to spend 30 years sticking to their plan of incrementally invading and conquering our country economically and through immigration – it’s just like watching the water creep up the banks of a tidal creek as the tide comes in and is only made possible through the traits of the American Elite which make it possible for them to sell their own mothers for a quick buck.

The ones that make certain the Elite are free to follow their instincts are NWO leaders – many of whom are well known established, respected, and even beloved American leaders who will use and already are implementing the Chinese Police State as their template for world government since their is no opposition preventing it.

I don’t think it will be based along the lines of Our U.S. Constitution where there is supposed to be Liberty and Justice for all and no taxation without representation. That we already know.

I am an “American exceptionalist.” I believe that The Banana Republic of America (the Third World horror movie formerly known as the USA) is exceptionally broken, exceptionally dysfunctional, exceptionally corrupt and becoming exceptionally poorer and exceptionally more repressive and violent with each passing day.

Here are some of the things that Americans can look forward to in the future:

    1. Food riots and widespread hunger
    2. Hyperinflation and an ever-weakening currency
    3. A repressive police state on one hand, and an abundance of violent crime on the other
    4. Shantytown slums and favelas galore
    5. The total annihilation of the middle class
    6. Sweatshops and neo-feudalism
    7. Decreasing life expectancy thanks to an ever-worsening, hopelessly broken “health care” system
    8. Millions more medical bankruptcies
    9. Civil war
    10. Home-grown terrorism
    11. Christian reconstructionists (the BRA’s version of the Taliban) trying to establish a theocracy and murdering anyone who doesn’t share their warped jihadist perversion of “Christianity.”
    12. A crumbling infrastructure
    13. Senior citizens freezing to death in the winter
    14. Senior citizens eating dollar store dog food before they freeze to death in the winter
    15. Taxes bleeding small businesses dry
    16. Draconian property tax hikes
    17. Millions more foreclosures
    18. The prison/industrial complex becoming even more tyrannical and abusive

Alex Jones was absolutely right when he said, “We are in deep tyranny….deep, deep, DEEP.”

Gerald Celente is absolutely right when he says that “fascism has come to America.”

Libertarian/paleoconservative Katherine Albrecht is absolutely right when she says that repressive police states ultimately kill a lot more innocent people than terrorists could ever dream of killing (Stalin, Hitler, Polpot, Lenin, Mao).

Benjamin Franklin was absolutely right when he said that those who are willing to sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither (yes, neocon bastards, I’m talking to you).

God help the rotting, decaying, collapsing Banana Republic of America.

  • The person above is an unmitigated idiot & no doubt an immature fool who gets everything from parents or the government.

Something tells me they would certainly care if food was scarce, clean water was even more scarce and medical care was non-existent.

10,000 years from now, nobody will remember the stupidity of the leftists who have done their best do destroy our society. Sad thing is they may very well have succeeded. 🙁

Game over!!! Time is up we are past the point of no return. It’s time now to turn your back on politics and get as prepared as possible in the short time that is left…beans, bullets & bandaids…we are headed for a time of pain and suffering not seen in generations of Americans, and the world is in worse shape than we are….unfortunately we enjoy a quality of life that will be affected greater than most as we have the most to lose…it’s been a heck of a dance, now the party is over and it’s time to pay the band….good luck to you all. White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, liberal, conservative, independent, Christian & atheist…whatever are differences, we will all be united in suffering.

  • I know what Tatiana is saying, and she’s right. She’s being very philosophical, and too many of you are taking it too literally. Now, back to present realities…

I think the very biggest obstacle of all in terms of dealing with this mess is the fact that the people making the policies and laws etc. are all in their own world–and it’s NOT the world you & I live in! All of them are, at least relatively, rich people. Even if prices go up, and there are fewer jobs, THEY will still have $ and other resources. THEY don’t feel your pain…ha! Their whole focus is all on the game that they play, day-in and day-out, in Washington, the State capitols, etc…trying to beat the other party! They’re still arguing ideology, when it’s clear that effective, PRACTICAL measures need to be instituted YESTERDAY! They just keep huffing and puffing, unwilling to cooperate or compromise. Sorry if YOU get foreclosed on, or lose your job, or have no prospects for retirement; THEY will still be able to send their kids to private schools, have vacation homes, etc.

The 2-Party System: worst thing that ever happened to America.

  • A true story of what’s going on around us…
Given today’s global economic conditions, politician on both sides don’t give a rats ass about the people in this country. Both sides are spending billions on attack ads, so they can be the one to run this country into the ground. Have the nation’s problems gotten fixed yet? I mean, with both political parties SO concerned over the American public’s welfare, somebody should have solved at least ONE problem. Hasn’t even one problem been solved?

What happened to Tunisia could trigger chaos elsewhere!
A fruit seller who caused Revolution in Tunisia!
Al Bouazizi was a poor 26-year old Tunisian who could not find a job after finishing college. He refused to join the “army of unemployed youth,” as it has become known in Tunisia, and instead started a small business as a street vendor, selling vegetables to support his family. It is a hard breaking story. Please follow the link for the entire story.

The only thing – the ONLY thing that has prevented the U.S. from already becoming a police state, is the Constitution.

The elite desperately want to tear it apart. They can’t do it overtly (that would be unconstitutional!), so they do it by stealth. Little by little, so the sheeple won’t get too alarmed. A little TSA search here, a little jaywalking offense there. Whip up an excuse to start a little war against a helpless country, because they need to be “free” and “liberated”.

According to the Constitution, only Congress has the power to declare war. This was supposed to be a safeguard against the president getting too much power. But, the last time Congress declared war was in 1941!

The Founding Fathers wanted a balance of power, between executive, legislative and judicial. They knew what could happen if one branch got a little too heavy handed with power. Unfortunately, their fears have come to pass. George W. Bush basically said, “9/11 is a national crisis! Terrorists! We must destroy them, and I’m in charge! I won’t bother asking Congress, because I know they feel the same as I do. Invade Afghanistan and Iraq!” And it was done.

Wake up!!! Before the Constitution is taken to the paper shredder. If that ever happens, all is lost.

  • Kevin

Like a fire in your home things going to hell are a possibility and one plans accordingly. Most of the stuff a prudent person would have in event of an economic collapse are the same the government recommends for a disaster. The only difference is watching your finances which one should do regardless. We’re unwilling to move to some nowhere place but neither are we in a city. The years worth of food is out of the question but having enough to avoid the public for a couple of months and a functioning large garden offers benefits beyond disaster planning with increased quality. The Achiles Heel is health care especially if you have a cronic condition. Bringing a few chickens and some gold/silver coins for a $200,000 multible bypass is not much of an option.

  • The Baroness

Keep up the good work! I am tired of trying to wake people up. My husband and I are only concerned with ourselves (and others who have seen the light). The collapse is coming and its going to be BAD.
Instead of spending $500-$1000 on Atlanta Falcons tickets (yes we had friends that spent that last night for a football game) we took that money and bought more PM and supplies. Its called priorities.

Natural Disaster in Australia, Brasil . . . .are the signs of time my friends. In the news, in Arizona, USA, people rushing to get guns to protect themselves and the numbers are staggering! Europe is in chaos . . . .American is in chaos, Middle East is in chaos. Those who know what is coming, are the ones can survive because only one third of the world will survive according to Bible! So be smart and be prepared to be among those one third of the world who can make it.

  • mondobeyondo

If you’ve ever read “The Great Gatsby”, there is a sentence that says, “The rich are different from you and me”. I believe it’s in the second chapter of the book – it’s been a while since I read it.

Indeed, they are. Even F. Scott Fitzgerald knew this back in 1926.

Rich people don’t clean their houses. They have servants for that. Most – NOT all, but most – care only about themselves and their friends. Those who do care about their fellow man/woman, are silenced or ostracized. Personas non grata. They get defeated in the next election (just look at those campaign funds evaporate!!) Vultures of a feather hang together.

Wealthy elite bankers and their pals run this country, not Obama, or Congress, or the military (thank God!). Politicians don’t care about their constituents. They care about political action committees, special interest groups and their lobbies. That is who they work for, not We The People. Why on earth would a presidential candidate spend millions and millions of dollars, to get elected to a post that pays $400,000 a year?

Until you realize that, nothing else makes sense. Once you do realize it, though…

Obama’s hair is getting increasingly gray, just like every president who is in office for at least 2-3 years. Why? What’s the worry? What gives? He’s got a lovely wife and children, and lots of perks – he can pick up the phone and chat to world leaders whenever he wants to.

Sure it’s a stressful job. Chances are your job is stressing you out too! (Reminder – have you checked your in-box lately?! Your company’s CEO just sent you a message.) That is, if you’re lucky enough to even have a job. The President can press a button and launch a war in 15 seconds. He lives in a giant White Castle (no, not the burger restaurant, but you’re close!) He’s in charge of the biggest superpower on earth. Riiiight???

I know, I’m rambling. Need to watch some football like a good American consumer, and later pop in a DVD of a Justin Bieber concert. It’s the pinnacle of songwriting. Baby, baby, baby! (Repeat 4 times.) I miss Britney Spears. Oops, did she do it again?! Ha!!

That undesciplined money management put many people in a poor position to weather any storm. We have people in our family that went through everything to find gold and silver to exchange for “money”. We heard about it ex post facto or we would have bought it ourselves. Their thought process produced this piece of logic at the Thanksgiving dinner table, “If people don’t have enough money the government should just print more”. What is frightening is we share DNA with these worshippers of the sphere.

  • Whomever said Tatitlana (whatever the hell that dumb B’s name is) was being philosophical is also a dumbass. What she’s being….IS A NO-GOOD COWARD! Running from problems which we can overcome if we embrace the kind of courage being shown by Gov. CHRIS CHRISTIE of New Jersey. We must confront the challenges, enforce Constitutional RULES for LIMITED GOVT and tell people “tough shit” if they don’t like it.

What happens in 10,000 years is IRRELEVANT. Hell, the planet may not be here by then.

It’s what happens over the next 20 years which is relevant. Why? Because most of the people on the earth today (and posting in this forum we should hope) will be here in 20 years. We will be experiencing the suffering!

    This “dumb B” isn’t being philosophical, she’s being non-sensical.

  • mondobeyondo

It’s been a while since I read this, so it’s solely by memory, and probably not accurate…

Democracy – You have a cow. You buy a bull, and let them breed. Sell their offspring to your neighbors and friends. Everyone benefits.

Communism – You have a cow. You’re not allowed to have a bull. The government takes your cow, and sells the milk to the people. You may go hungry, but you won’t go thirsty.

Nazism – You have a cow. The government shoots it, and kills you for owning a cow.

Totalitarism – You have a cow. You must worship it, because it provides all your needs.

I currently live in Northern VA, right outside the nation’s capital, and in Loudoun County the richest county in the US. The economy is doing great here, very little foreclosures, stores and restaurants are prospering on every corner, and the unemployment rate is low. Its hard to believe this doom and gloom theme, when WE are living the American dream!! Are the people commenting from debt stricken states with high unemployment rate and massive foreclosures? Is this doom and gloom mentality just local?

The only decrease I have notice, is the down-sizing of Americans moving in the area. It has been a large amount of Mid-East foreignors taking over the area and taking every professional job. Should we not be afraid of this take-over!! This is the doom and gloom in my particular region……..

  • Well now, I live in Arizona, in fact Tucson, Our Governor now has DEATH PANNELS as people waiting for transplants are kicked off so money can repair roofs for un-used gov buildings and bridges for squirrel protection,
Phoenix is a major Crime city and now the Water is safe. Tucson was a peaceable middle city.(city voted for OBAMA).
If you listen to cable news and believe what you hear you are a FOOL!!!
Unemployment dropped by 150,000 sure it did but WHY? Part-time Xmas help!
Texas is ready to lay off 8,000 workers to control their budget – New York just laid off 6,000 workers So the #’s just don’t add up!!
We are being lied to everyday!!!
    Check out this website:
    See the Truth no jobs=no homes=no spending=no food=more homeless!!!!!

  • I just laugh at these gloom and doom forecasts because people want only certain kinds of apocalypses to happen which support their beliefs, and dismiss other people’s apocalypses as nonsense or superstition. Believer in the Austrian Apocalypse (hyperinflation), for example, dismiss global warming as Chicken Little stuff. Christians who believe in the “end times” dismiss the Islamic version, even though Jesus shows us as a Muslim and Muhammad’s helper in the latter. And believers in the Singularity AI Apocalypse dismiss the religious apocalypses as woo-woo.

What if it turns out that humans will do what we do best, namely, just muddle through? We show some progress in doing that, as Matt Ridley points out in his book “The Rational Optimist,” p. 42:

“. . . the price of wheat approximately trebled in 2006-8, just as it did in Europe in 1315-18. At the earlier date, Europe was less densely populated, farming was entirely organic and food miles were short. Yet in 2008, nobody ate a baby or pulled a corpse from a gibbet for food. Right up until the railways came, it was cheaper for people to turn into refugees than to pay the exorbitant cost of importing food into a hungry district. Interdependence spreads risk.”

This is a Crisis By Design. It started with the dumbing down of America and the Bankers getting the Fed started in 1913. Then they passed the 16th amendment. Then the APA started to drug everyone as the new treatment for mental anguish with thorazine. Then the CIA got LSD pushed into society, they got us off the gold standard in 1971. LBJ got us into war to help the bankers make billions (war is all about money for the bankers) Psychiatry made up hundreds of disorders to drug America into a stupor and now the bankers wanna take out the dollar and collapse the american way of life. Morals have gone by the wayside due to the drug culture (if it feels good do it mnetality still is prevalent). so we have jersey shore as one of the most popular shows (disgusting).
America is on its way out for living a life of excess and being sold a bill of goods to borrow borrow borrow, drugs drugs drugs.

  • Total Vindication

    Excellent critique of the situation.

No you should not worry about any doom and gloom coming to your neighborhood. 90% of the residents in your neighborhood owe their high standard of living to high government salaries, limitless government spending, and free money – part of which is provided at the expense of these people speaking of the doom and gloom, and the other part provided at the expense of people in other countries who are experiencing far greater doom and gloom and don’t even have a clue that they are indirectly supporting the high standard of living of the people in your neighborhood.

The ones you hear speaking of doom and gloom are feeling the doom and gloom due to the actions of the people in your neighborhood who take orders from the most powerful people (worldly power only) in the world who live in N.Y.C. and London, and this doom and gloom is going to increase drastically in 2011 for these you hear speaking of this strange doom and gloom – it has been planned especially for them.

But even so, you don’t have to worry that these you hear speaking of this doom and gloom are going to come after the ones in your neighborhood that cause the doom and gloom to forcefully put an end to it because they would prefer to support the people in your neighborhood over the only other available option due to their obedience to God and their love for the ones in your neighborhood. Their obedience to God is the reason the doom and gloom has been planned for them. Most of them will probably die from the doom and gloom and you will no longer have to worry of any possibility of them coming to your neighborhood – your neighborhood will be just fine for a long time.

But the day will come when it will no longer be fine – and it will arrive all in an instant – and there will never again be seen a light burning there, and all of the ships captains at sea will see smoke rising from your neighborhood, and businessmen the world over will weep because the end will come to the generation of the great wealth they gained through the trading of every possible luxury with the Great Prostitute – and they will say – “that place is dead, you can believe that.”

As far as the Middle Eastern immigrants taking over all the jobs of the Americans – we’ve already adjusted to that, what’s the big deal?

  • Lennie Pike

    And Israel.

Either you are all wrong, or you’re all right! I feel like I’ve been living in a real thick fog for a few years now, and I really can’t make sense or see, what is ahead of me. I’ve always been very independent, and now,,,I just don’t get it, I don’t know which way to go or turn. Like John Lennon said” How can I go forward when I don’t know which way to turn??”

10,000 is definitely a long term view. I am convinced that the issue is indeed a matter of one’s perspective, or worldview. And I am convinced that unless one has the correct perspective (and there is only one that is correct), one will not really understand what is happening. Take time for instance, does mankind really have an unlimited time on this globe? Can we really expect to be here in 10, 000 years even if we are well behaved? My worldview tells me no we will all be elsewhere and that will be a whole lot sooner than 10,000 years. If you are interested, there is a pretty niffy timeline that explains the worldview to which I, and many like me, subscribe at — check it out. Peace be with you as you journey through a very tough time in history. And may you be singing with us when it is all over, “When we’ve been there, 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun. We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we first begun.”

  • Your articles remind me of the Plain Truth magazine printed by the Worldwide Church of God of a generation ago. Full of doom and gloom articles about how the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Unfortunately they were ahead of their time by about 40 years and people grew tired of the magazine when the stuff did not come to pass in the time line that the magazine predicted. Fortunately or unfortunately I think the day of SHTF might be upon us. Hopefully we can kick the can down the street for another forty years.

This article is spot on! There is no time to waste and fret over if it’s going to happen. The time for preparedness is RIGHT NOW PEOPLE!! We are at a crossroads of human existence. The cycle of time and the ancient civilizations all prophesied this to come about, and it is here.

The planetary changes that are upon us, the the solar activity that is coming, will put an end to society as we know it. If you don’t have food, water, and a way to barter for goods, you will not survive the coming events!

The time for watching TV, and being brainwashed by the evil forces at the top of this holographic fiat monetary system are over. Their time is ending. There is no way to stop the impending collapse of the entire world economic system. It is over, and the governments of the world know it, they will not tell you this, but it is over.

It is time to prepare for the dark times ahead, but to fear not what the darkness has in store, for if you believe in the love of the human heart, which controls the whole universe, then you will realize our time is nearing for a new age of existence, where money, politics, and religion will not interfere with the destiny that is ours.

We are almost there, and they know this. They are the frightened ones, for the control they have over us is about to END! So follow your heart and believe in yourself, and the most wondrous journey awaits us!

go right ahead and stock up on gold and silver……it will be hard to eat though. maybe some boiled down gold and rock stew sounds good to alot of people but not I. the 2 main things I have been stocking up on are ammo, and FOOD!!! If i have food I can get the gold or/and silver. Just a little side note for anyone who is a prepper(to be), ya might want to think about getting or making (like I did) a wood-burning stove. It will probably come in handy when TSHTF!!! Thanx!!

Food shortages are definetly on the way. At the minimum, prices will double in a year. The best invesment most can make right now is loading the house or apt up with everyday needs.

There is no such thing as hoarding when the store shelves are full. But when the panic begins, overpurchasing is hoarding, which is a big moral no-no.

Get ahead of the curve and buy now. At the very least you will probably double your money. At best it may save your and your families necks.

  • Things everywhere you look are this bad, be it the economy, politics, the weather or even our own personal lives. Most people don’t realize, the hell they’re going through right now is the same hell everyone else is facing…the only difference between “us” and “other people” is we aren’t taking anti-depressants to “make it all better”.

The solar eclipse on Jan 4 marked the beginning of the end of this “fog” that’s been hanging over the nation since 2008.
It wont be long before we see clearly what kind of mess we are really in – there will be much crying and gnashing of teeth!

It’s the sign of the times, people are so narsacisistic it’s sickening. Even when you speak to people in your church they just look at you with a blank stare and they think your nuts. but with the other side of their face they state, wow things don’t look good and go right about their business as usual as if everything is just honky dory. god is good, the food is good, the people are good. it’s almost like they are in a drunken stupor and have not awoken from their high.

It makes me sick to think that so many Americans call themselves patriot Americans and then they live for today only and not worry about what is coming down the road. I just want to shake each and every one of them and ask them if they really know what is going on right in front of their eyes. I guess one of these days when the idiots come out of the inner city and start breaking into their house they will finally get the message, although it could be too late for them then. I’ll close with this thought: Those who are in denial better give their hearts to God because the thugs will have their ass.

Here’s the problem. You may be totally right but there is nothing we can do as individuals to do anything about the world. We are not going to reach some critical mass of knowledge and then take control of governing any differently. Just ain’t gonna happen..

So what does that leave us? It’s every man for himself and you need to get yourself protected against the anarchy about to hit us. You need to prepare yourself for a major food shortage. You need to prepare yourself for no electricity. Everything you need to sustain you and your families life you need to be working on securing. Otherwise you are just along for the ride until you don’t have food and you die. Period.

  • I Think a lot more people know that we are in big trouble than we would like to give them credit for. The real problem is that we have more than enough voices shouting out what the problems are. The real problem is that none of the voices are shouting out any real solutions to move us forward. None of them present a new vision for the world or even this country.

Here is my shout out to the United States and the rest of the world.

Understanding these events will be very difficult without examining them through the spiritual biblical lens. This website explains what is coming:

In order to endure, the wise ones will prepare spiritually as well as practically.

Only those with commen sense will see this coming today, and any with a pure conscience yet are the ones to know by the spirit of God what to do to help others with wisdom.
Face reality and exspect the worst, work for the best. Get some seeds and food set asside. Exspecting to harvest your own seeds out of your own garden.
The scriptures say give and it will be given to you. Jesus warns of a shaking that will be greater than any previous, national shakings, weather shakings, heavenly shakings, earthquakes, tornatoes, valcanoes, floodings,
Only if you seek God and His terms will a purpose be set for you to understand and how to live in this dire time we have entered. Eternaity is before everyone and backslidden christains need to get back with the Lord, on the road where they got off. You are forgiven if you confess your fault to Jesus. Any unsaved and know they need to be save, ask Jesus to save you, repent of your sinfulness and ask for a new life in Christ. Life in these days happens to be at the time of the tribulation, get ready as one can, just knowing this is a great part of being ready , now to face it and adjust the best you can, letting God do the rest, rest in God, know jesus. Pastor Craig Nelson.

  • There’s no place called “Devon, Massachusetts.” I’m presuming this company leased space on land that used to be part of the Fort Devens Army base, probably with a subsidy from the People’s Republic of Taxachusetts to get them in there in the first place to boot. A subsidy I’m guessing is either running out or not attractive enough. Fort Devens is mostly in Ayer, FWIW, so I’m presuming that’s technically where the manufacturing space is/was.

BTW, is this a kraut company, or subsidiary of one? (The English/Deutsch choice on the website makes me think “yes.”)If so, the irony abounds, given that Fort Devens was one of the main processing stations for US draftees during World War II in New England. It was where my Dad first reported in 1944, if memory serves, though he did his basic in the South. Also where my (god rest his soul) father-in-law shipped out to Korea. But to quote the philosopher Steely Dan “Those days are gone forever, over a long time ago, oh yeah”.

And what a relief. Who needs this pesky manufacturing stuff anyways? This means Ayer can get back to its primary calling as a home for fast-food joints, Indo-Pak convenience stores and more liquor stores and check cashing places than you’d ever think a town that size could support.

And maybe they can stick a plaque somewhere for all the American boys whose last contact w/US soil was ol’ Fort Devens? Not that anyone will bother reading it. Might make ’em late to get home to watch Dancing With the Stars or something.

  • I know for sure it will get even worse than it is now. This is simply the tip of the iceberg. These are birth pains just as Jesus foretold as the signs of His second coming. It is going to get ugly like we never seen ugly, and the only way to escape it is if we die before His return. If these Babylonian American christians think they are going to be secretly raptured up and escape the tribulations, they better rethink and do more studying in the owners manual (AKA) The BIBLE. They are not getting out that easily. So buckle your seat belts everyone, this world will come to an end like it or not. If you doubt these words I simply say study it for yourselves and please do not take my word for it.

  • Many people believe that what is happening to our country is the result of deliberate criminal activity within our government. In order to solve a crime, law enforcement tries to establish the “means, motive, and opportunity” of the perpetrators of the crime. “Doom and Gloom” writers have lots of material to write about when it comes to “means & opportunity” when describing the present dire consequences to our country. There is much speculation as to the motives of our politicians for creating this sorry state of affairs in our country. Some believe that it is just a bunch of inept micromanaging control freaks that are attempting to run our country. Others insist that this is only a temporary “phase” in the life of our country. Still others believe that this is a long-term plot by socialist leaning politicians to do away with our Constitution in order to convert our country into a socialist paradise. The major obstacle to all of these ideas is the fact that most of the major policies being forced upon us are clearly not sustainable. The socialists and political control-freaks would be insane to support policies that would leave them with a ruined economy even if they won their goals of absolute power over our country. These people are, in many respects, naive in the idea that they can make a flawed system work that has always failed in all of history. However, they are not insane or totally lacking in talent. Nevertheless, they are acting as if there is no tomorrow and there will be “no consequences” to themselves for printing money like mad and ruining our economy. So, what is their motive for doing what they are doing? What do they know that we don’t that is motivating them to enact these apparently suicidal policies?

    To GRODOY:
I happen to believe in the Pre tribulation rapture. It is really sad that you talk about Jesus and then insult other believers in the same paragraph is not how A believer should act. And is baffling to me. We as believers are supposed to be Meek. Whether you believe in the Pre trib rature or not holds no merit. The fact of the matter is if you believe in Jesus Christ you should not fear these things. Yes it is a good idea to prepare yourself but there should be no fear in your heart since this is all foretold by Almighty God.

I believe the “doom and gloom” reporting is appropriate and justified for what is coming. More people are aware than what some readers may think.

I know prices of food have gone up substantially in the past six months. It only requires a little knowledge to compare what you paid last week, last month etc. to know the facts. It is prudent to buy extra supplies, food, water while you can.

Talk to your family and friends and leave it up to them to believe or not believe. In the future you will feel no guilt at keepingthe warning to yourself.

I’m incredibly sad at what is to come, especially for my grandchildren. I buy food for them, also. Think of others whom you can help.

Thanks to the writer/writers of this site for putting the proof/statistics, etc. along with their views online. You are appreciated by most of your readers.

It won’t matter how much food, water, ammunition, etc. you stock up on…when the seabed of the gulf of mexico collapses from the BP disaster…agriculture will be dead around the world. We will fall into an ice age that will eliminate 90% or more of the population. This is the REAL threat to humanity. Even the world governments will suffer greatly!! Knowing that not even the ELITE will escape this disaster might give us a little peace of mind.

  • Blammo

Well. I got a little leaf cutter ant problem in my bean field. It’s 348 AM. I reckon I’ll grab a cup of homegrown coffee, saddle the horse and go take care of those ants.
On the way back I’ll stop by the barn and pick up 6 quarts of Jersey milk, run by garden #3 and pick a batch of spinach, and get wifey to make some cheese for tonights lasagna. Then I have to feed the hogs, chickens, rabbits and tilapia. Y’all have fun and say hi to Oprah.
    Pura Vida.

  • Toni

If you have the land to grow some of your food. You better be doing it this season. Not only because of prices going up, but the fact you may not be able to find basic food on the shelves. The prices are already showing signs of disaster.

The SCOTUS has made-it-up that corporations are individuals and have a right to contribute to political campaigns. Why is it so difficult to track who “owns” these corporations. If a corporation is owned by a foreign entity, should they still have the right to support our politicians? Before we can fix anything, we need to know where the big money is coming from and put a stop to it. Only Americans should participate in the fate of Americans. We need to find out who is really controlling our politicans/Congress/America. Only then will be be able to do what is best for the citizens of this country. Also, every local, state and federal entity, that our taxes support, should publish their budgets. Let the taxpayers decide what waste needs to be cut — that way, the cuts won’t be on our backs 100% of the time.

the book will answer all the mystery behind the rapid change of development happening in the world today. the doom and gloom is not question or an aspect. it is to the world leaders to decide what kind of system of govertment is aplicable in this times, but there is alternative i tell you.

all of you in the first world must adjust bec the system you insist is no longer workable but inadequate .it must renew, alter or change before ist to late

Peak oil……… need I say more?

The economy, gold/silver, republicans, democrats, obamacare, declining home prices, unemployment, etc… are the mere side effects. Bottom line is we’re in Iraq for a reason, and it’s oil. The world is figuring out there isn’t enough to go around, and since the worlds economies were built upon it, they are all collapsing. Hello everyone. I am accused of being a “naysayer” because we are facing brutal reality. My husband says I am nothing but “gloom and doom.” Sadly, most everyone I know is not paying attention to what is happening in our world. Almost everyone I know is worried about “American Idol, Fantasy Football, Sports of every kind, and the politicians.” Mention one world of the chaos we are in, and you get that blank look. What is wrong with the American’s minds? Are they in a worldly stupor, or plain just don’t care? I see folks in the super markets, nonchalantly pushing their carts around, and acting as if nothing is amiss in the world around them. I want to sound the “BUGLE” loud and strong, to wake them up. I see folks walking around with plastic faces. There is no emotion showing on their countenance’s. When the “Feds” come through their doors like gangbusters, then they will awake and see, that things really are “very” bad in their world. America is no longer “land of the free.” We have become a “Police State.” The majority populace has not realized this, yet. We need to stay close to God, He is our “Shield and Buckler.” He will come to take His people home with Him. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

It is true, people would rather watch american idol than learn. my friend asked me why i didnt like obama. a lot of people ask me that. i spew out all the things they have done with our economy, than they just call me a negative person. what’s so negative about doing research and knowing what is going on? not just that, but what our country was founded on is being ripped apart. but oh no, dont worry about it people who call me negative. keep talking about these reality shows and spend your day googling prince harry and celebrities. i think the day things collapse for real is when people might wake up more. on a bright note for them, the government said jobs are looking better 🙂 NOT!

The Wisdom of Preparing / The Foolishness of Delay
    Proverbs 22:3 (King James Version)
3:A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
    Genesis 41:48-54 (King James Version)
48:And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
49:And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.
50:And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
51:And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.
52:And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
53:And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
54:And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
    Matthew 25:2-9 (King James Version)
2:And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3:They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4:But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5:While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6:And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7:Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8:And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9:But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

Unfortunately, as I watch the panic on tv tonight about a gov’t shut down it is very apparent that the majority of these people have no idea of what is coming. I thought about calling in on Washington tonight to give my opinion and then thought better of it. Our gov’t is bankrupt, and the credit card is about maxed out. The trigger will certainly occur within the next 24 months, 36 if the govt is lucky. My guess is that the system will become overwhelmed and we will be the only buyers of our treasuries.

My brother in law believes he is safe with his navy pension. All the social security recipients, medicare, etc. When an economy fails, hyper inflation persists. Sure, they may still get their 1500.00 monthly checks, but it will be useless against thousand dollar weekly grocery bills.

I think the gov’t needs to get out of the way and let the collapse get started. It is coming anyways. The sooner it starts, the sooner, the new systems can take over. When assets collapse to dirt, the investors go broke, but new investors buy the dirt and start over. We need to get started. The longer we wait, the longer we will be in the greatest inflationary depression the world has ever seen.

Collect your gold / silver / by seeds and hang on tight.

IF you are to survive, it will be up to you. Do not pray for divine intervention or gov’t help. It won’t be coming.
