Everything Is Going To Be Alright?

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Is the U.S. economy going to be okay?  Well, if the only source you listened to was the mainstream media, you would be left with the distinct impression that the U.S. economy is heading toward a full recovery and that everything is going to be alright.  Unfortunately, that is not the case at all.  The United States is rapidly becoming poorer as a nation and less competitive in the global marketplace.  At the same time, consumer debt levels are rising, corporate debt levels are rising, state and local government debt levels are rising and the U.S. government is indulging in a debt binge unlike anything the world has ever seen.  Considering the insane amount of money the U.S. government has been pumping into the economy, we should have seen a much more robust recovery by now.  Instead, the employment statistics have barely moved and government dependence is at an all-time high.  That is really sad, because this is as good as “the recovery” is going to get.  The next major economic downturn is just around the bend, and in future years millions of us will desperately yearn for the “good old days” of 2012.

Below, I have compiled a list of things that I have entitled “Everything Is Going To Be Alright?”

It is composed in the form of a song, but it really isn’t meant to be sung.  It is probably actually more of an economic horror poem than it is a song.  What I have tried to do is to point out the absurdity of what we are all being told by our politicians and by the media.  Hopefully you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it….

Don’t worry about a thing – Harry Reid says everything is going to be alright.

Home prices in the United States hit a 10 year low in the month of January.  They are now down 34.4 percent from the peak in 2006.

Don’t worry about a thing – Barack Obama says everything is going to be alright.

The average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States is rapidly approaching the $4.00 mark.

Don’t worry about a thing – Anderson Cooper says everything is going to be alright.

Median household income in the United States is down 7.8 percent since December 2007 after adjusting for inflation.

Don’t worry about a thing – Barack Obama says everything is going to be alright.

When Barack Obama first took office, the number of “long-term unemployed workers” in the United States was approximately 2.6 million.  Today, that number is sitting at 5.6 million.

Don’t worry about a thing – Nancy Pelosi says everything is going to be alright.

The U.S. government will add more to the national debt in 2012 than it did from the time that George Washington became president to the time that Ronald Reagan became president.

Don’t worry about a thing – Barack Obama says everything is going to be alright.

The U.S. national debt is currently increasing by about 150 million dollars every single hour.

Don’t worry about a thing – Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says everything is going to be alright.

The Federal Reserve bought approximately 61 percent of all government debt issued by the U.S. Treasury Department in 2011.  This is a Ponzi scheme that will completely collapse at some point.

Don’t worry about a thing – Barack Obama says everything is going to be alright.

So what is your opinion?

Do you believe that everything is going to be alright?

Please feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts below….

  • …and if you’re still worried despite all the reassurances from the Very Important People, then ask your doctor for prescription Prozac. That will help you with your anxiety.

Granted, you’re still going to lose your job and your home, but at that point you really won’t have anything to worry about, since you officially won’t exist anymore. All the drugs really need to do is tide you over until you become an un-person.

  • mondobeyondo

Well done, Michael! I’ve been thinking along the same lines, actually. They say if you tell a lie often enough, people start to believe it’s the truth. Barack Obama is trying his hardest to do just that.

If you’re broke and you know it, clap your hands…
If you’re broke and you know it, clap your hands…
If you’re broke and you know it,
And you aren’t afraid to show it,
If you’re broke and you know it, clap your hands…

    • Michael

      Thank you Mondo. 🙂

  • Like the sand in the hourglass so are the days of our lives.

  • Benjik

As if U.S. companies needed yet another reason to ship jobs out of the country, we now hold the highest corporate tax-rate in the world.

Don’t worry about a thing – Jay Carney says everything is going to be alright.

    • Snow White

That is completely untrue (until Sunday)!

    • Gary2

we now hold the highest corporate tax-rate in the world.

That no corp pays. turn off fox.

      • Syrin

BWHAHAHAHAHAA !!! Yeah, no one pays corporate tax, so might as well make it 100% right MORON ?!?!?!

Care to explain whjy CEO’s keep saying they can’t compete with international companies because our taxes are too high? Yeah, keep watching Joyless “Call everyone else a Bitch” Behar and being the brain dead drone Lenin would be proud of

      • Rodster

Hey Gary2 how about talking to your liberal buddies like Jeffrey Immelt who works for Obumma and runs GE. His company made billions in profits and GE paid ZERO in taxes.

        Lets start there.

        • Gary2

immelt is a fool and obama a fool for appointing him to anything.

I do not think that lower house prices are a bad thing. People keep on saying that the prices must go back to where they were at the peak of the market. This is flat out wrong. The price of real estate has to reflect the amount that the buyers can pay. You will only see housing prices going up a lot if we have wage inflation and since much of the rest of the world is lower than us and we compete in the global market place for many items wages are not going up alot anytime soon. So instead of crying about your retirement from the sale of your house being gone, we will have to come up with another plan to improve our lives. That means that we Americans will need to quit asking for a government handout every chance we get and start working with our hands again from the ground up. Sorry to tell you that the promises made for social security are gone and also all of those electric scooters that cost several thousand each need to go away. A basic wheel chair can get you around. Health care the way it is given away in this country is not a right. Why should the taxpayers pay for a new knee replacement. Save up and pay for it yourself. If the government did not pay for it the cost of health care would drop to what the population paying for it could afford to pay. Just as house prices are lower now health care costs will drop. With less government our lives will improve over time.

    • Snow White

Housing prices were at insane levels. The huge increases were a mirage all along. I had long wondered how “subprime” mortgages could be marketed ad AAA investments. By definition, these mortgages were taken out by people who did not pay their bills.

    • Joanie

Mark, what planet are you living on??? It surely isn’t earth.

      • mark

Are you refering to housing prices or that the cost of health care would drop without the government driving up the costs or that maybe you should quit asking for handouts from the taxpayers? This planet is earth as you can’t go to any others yet.`Many of us elderly own our houses and yet we demand that the younger generations pay for our scooters, etc. This is not right to turn the young people into debt slaves so that we do not have to use our own funds to take care of ourselves.

    • CL Walker

Rich Republicans broke this country, yelling for even more wars to feed military contractors. Romney beating war drums. Will take Obama any day as Republicans will double down on killing what they started.

      • Rodster

Care to explain how Obumma has started more wars than Bush dumbass? 😉

    • Gary2

if the free scooters go away how are the ************ going to get to their ************ rallies???

      • Gary2

Mike-why the censor of the word ********************??don’t think people can handle the truth??

        • Michael

Gary you know what it means. 🙂

          • Gary2

ok then members of the tea party. But YOU know what I really mean.

    • A. Lowe

Save up for a knee replacement? Are you serious? When the doctor tells you that you require a knee replacement, you don’t exactly have a whole lot of time to save up money. Not to mention the fact that if your knee is bad enough (which it probably is because the good doctor is recommending a knee replacement) you won’t be ab;e to work because of your bad knee. Kind of a vicious circle isn’t it…

      • mark

Look, the tax payers are not responsible for all of the health care wants of everyone. People do not die of a bad knee. We should not pay for viagra. It is one thing to treat a heart attack or lung problems to save a life and a different matter to have the tax payers shell out for lifestyle improvements. Like it or not this country is deep in debt and the government can’t pay for all things. That is why many seniors have worked and saved for their old age. I have not said that seniors can’t have the new knees or viagra for that matter. They just need to pay for those things themselves or their families can chip in if they feel that it is needed.

  • Nick

Everything will be all right in the end, if not before.

The sun will still rise and set. The tides will still come in and go out. Life will go on.

Perhaps things won’t be the way we want them to be, but since when does anyone have a clue about what they want?

Think of it as an adventure; you all live during an amazing time. The most powerful empire the world has ever known is collapsing before our very eyes.

    The status quo is finished.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

We were all on borrowed time from the moment we were born, no reason to dwell upon it. Just do your best.

    • Jazz

      What are you smoking?

    • a cruel accountant

      Nick is right.

  • i’vegivenup

My screen name should tell you how I feel…

    • Alasha

awwwwwwww. well, if you need help with something, i hope you do not hesitate to let someone know.

(Psalm 55:22) Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, And he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to totter.

(Philippians 4:13) For all things I have the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me.

  • Ken

Yep, everything will be alright. That is only because I have been saved by the blood of the Lamb, (Jesus). No matter how bad things become here on earth, one day Jesus will come and take me home! I have a future and a hope in Christ Jesus. No matter how severe the economic collapse is, Jesus will be with me all the way through it.

    • Benjik

That is the TRUTH, Amen brother! Just a thought, ever notice how the more people turn from God the higher the demand for antidepressants?

    • Tapper P.

No, he won’t. Stop farting around and start preparing.

    • Cherri

    • Amen!

  • Benjik

Here’s a few other song titles that relate to the current economic condition:

“The Fed ditched the gold mine and we got the shaft.”

    “Rollin’ in the deep….debt.”

    “Bye, Bye Miss American Dream”

“Barack and Roll nightmares come through”

“The house of the rising debt”

“I fought the law and the law tasered and pepper-sprayed me.”

On a music-related side note, it is being reported that Carly Simon is undergoing a series of psychic ability tests at an undisclosed location. The myth of who the iconic hit “You’re so vain” references has officially been declared to be none other than the current President of the United States.

    • Michael

      That made me smile. 🙂

    • mondobeyondo

Carly’s so vain. She didn’t know this post was about her.

Don’t laugh. Most of America is just as vain.

    • jaxon64

“House of the Rising Debt”.I know that one, I think it goes like this………

There is a house, in New Orleans,
      that’s under-water 200 grand.
It’s not the ruin of Hurricane Katrina,
but from what Frank and Dodd had planned….

thank you, thank you…I’ll be here all week

( unless of course Homeland Security decides its time for me to disappear under the new NDAA laws)

      • Benjik

        Right on!

  • nowwthen

Mortgage the house and buy some survival land with the proceeds. When it all goes bad let the bank come for the house you put up for collateral. You won’t want to be there anyway – that’s why you bought the land.

Move your money from a 401k into a self directed IRA. When you withdraw from a 401K 20% is withheld for federal tax. IRA distributions are of course taxable but nothing is withheld at the time of withdrawal. This may vary from plan to plan so verify that this is the case for your plans if you decide to switch.

    • Benjik

We had bought a house on 3/4 of an acre at a state-sponsored tax auction a few years ago for under $1000.00. It isn’t pretty, but it’s solid. It’s in a very economically depressed but virtually crime-free rural village with an elderly population. Yearly taxes are under $500.00. It’s by far the BEST insurance we’ve EVER purchased.

    • Prepared Pastor

If one cannot liquidate a retirement account because they’re still employed, perhaps they can borrow against it. This is tax free as long as you make the monthly payments and what I did to buy silver a couple years ago when it was $16 per oz. I only did this after getting my survival land and the materials for my solar-powered cabin, a year’s provisions, etc.

    • Tapper P.

Better to cancel it entirely, take the hit, and buy physical silver. Better yet, food stores, tools, real things. All paper is going to burn.

“They are coming for your retirement money and they’ll get it too, because they own this f-ing place.” – George Carlin

“This is not amerika” my all time fav…

Everything is fine today, that is our illusion….Voltaire

  • Glad to see you include the BRIC issue.

I think the BRIC’s and the use of SWIFT as a weapon against Iran are shaping up to be two of the biggest turning points for the US in terms of currency dominance. And what comes as a result doesn’t look good long term.

South Korea also this week announced that they were reducing their exposure to US holdings.

Vote out all incumbents both left and right. Put new citizens, not attorneys in our government. File complaints and demand investigations in to the crooks in office. Buy precious metals Brass and Lead. Remove the lefties from your city council and county offices. Remove all incumbent Judges. Any vote for an unconstitutional law is TREASON.

Weimar Republic, Argentina……….Hunger Games. The end game is totalitarian government.

  • Sid Davis

In a monetary system where money is created out of thin air and loaned into existence individuals, businesses and governments become indentured servants to the Commercial banks. Debt grows and if the economy grows the system can continue because the indentured servants can by working create enough wealth to both support their lives and to pay the banks interest.

But the system has one inherent flaw and that is the drag that debt repayment places on economic activity; when debts are paid money goes out of circulation; payment is the opposite event to borrowing newly created money, and has the opposite effect (create new money loaning it into circulation = economic stimulation / repay existing bank loans taking money out of circulation = economic drag). The banks must create new money at a fast enough rate to keep the economy stimulated and to fund the ever growing drag of principal and interest repayments, else economic activity slows down, as we are experiencing now.

There have been many instances of bank credit being created that results in boom followed by bust, but if left to unwind the bust is over quickly as debt is cancelled via default, foolish borrowers and lenders go belly up in bankruptcy, and the pieces are picked up by those more prudent in their dealings. But when government interferes attempting to prop up the debts and prevent their liquidation, the drag on the economy continues and recovery is delayed.

But this time there is an additional factor, aside from the monetary system and its flaw. That factor is the end of cheap energy. For the last 400 years economic activity has had the benefit of exploitation of fossil fuels which allowed for steadily increasing industrial output. We have hit the wall as per capita energy has begun to decline. Instead of operating in a background of ever increasing energy, the future is ever decreasing energy.

Against this new reality of long term economic contraction, the monetary system based on debt and bank credit becomes impossible. The energy constrained economy will not provide enough output to sustain 7 billion people, much less sustain them and provide sufficient output for the banks to take what they are owed. This will be the cause of not only collapse of the financial system, but revolution as the majority will no longer be able to carry the burden of supporting themselves and the elite who plunder and control them through government.

It is true that any recovery will be temporary only to be followed by increasing economic contraction. Nothing will be well until the population comes into line with the ability of an energy constrained economy to provide for the survivors; nothing will be well until we throw off the chains of the current fascist system where politicians and corporations collude to rig the former free markets in their own favor at the expense of the majority; nothing will be so long as those in power quit murdering foreigners in order to take their resources; nothing will be well until the system of government forced charity (welfare) is ended in favor of the compassion of private charity.

But even in a perfect world of actual free markets, peace, honest money, and respect for private property, we cannot invent energy out of nothing and we will be forced to deal with the rule of nature that limits human population by the resources available to sustain us.

    • Brandon

Finally, someone around here mentions the energy side of things.

Any idea on a timeframe for how things will play out?

I find it impossible to get any definitive answers regarding where we are on the peak energy/resources curve…

  • Pete

Crazy…how many of you think that before this big crash, we will have a huge stock market bubble? Bubble 2.0 social media pump and dump?

  • Mikeisalways

Where exactly are we all going to live when we all lose our houses?

  • Snow White

I stopped throwing money down the 401K rathole a long time ago. My coworkers look at me like I have three heads. when I called TRP to stop contributions, the schmuck on the other end of the phone pleaded with me to not stop, basically told me I was stupid, and all but refused to stop contributions. It’s amazing how happy people are that their “investments” are almost back where they were in 2008, and don’t seem to think four years of spinning their wheels matters. When they boast of 8% yearly gains, I like reminding them that those dollars are losing at least 10% value per year.

  • mondobeyondo

If I were Weird Al Yankovic (I am not!)- I’d write a parody song called “Decapitation” (sung to “Anticipation” by Carly Simon)…

    “You trusted politicians
But they screwed you over instead…
    They’ve lost their minds
And now you’re gonna lose your head!

    De-capitationnn… De-capita-ta-tionnn…
    Oh, you’re losing your head….
    [drum solo]
    Losing your”

It’s a work in progress. Don’t worry, it’ll never hit the Billboard 100 charts.

  • davidmpark

    Let it collapse.

We are ruled by those who believe faithfully in communism, Marxism, fascism, etc.

The laws are perverted to favor the thief and murderer over the producer and gentleman.

The dollar is not fitting the definition of money: an agreed upon medium of exchange with its own intrinsic value. It worthless paper backed by trust and threats.

Christ Jehovah is not welcomed in many places here anymore.

    Sodomy and filth is fashionable.

What we are experiencing is the fulfillment of natural laws; laws meant to ensure our survival and progress. We brought this upon ourselves. We gave it our sanction for over 100 years. This is what we wanted.

Sorry to say it, but it’s true or we’d have done differently.

Yes, things are bad… will get worse; all the more reason to adapt, rediscover good morality, and return to building and producing again for the sake of charitable prosperity.

  • Dr Biek

Alright is not yet a real word, is it? All right? *** But things are NOT going to be all right. *** The last 2 things that have to be removed by those in power who want a new world order run by unelected elite bureaucrats are 1)individual guns and other rights and 2) Christianity — the only 2 pillars of America’s founding that still stand. *** It will take more courage by most of us than we have ever had before to keep and expand these 2 valuables and try to recover all the other pillars of our founding. All hell will break loose trying to take them from us. We almost all need to make our free will choice to do as much unselfish good and as little selfish harm as possible to overcome our enemies even in the worst scenarios. *** Very challenging times are ahead. Thank God for real Americans with what it will take to win the days ahead.

    • Annette

I hear if Obama is re-elected, he is taking the guns away…by Executive Order!

  • Lynn

My trust is not in Obama, Nancy, Harry, or any of the rest of these people. My trust is in my Lord and my God who created this earth and everything in it. He is still on His throne with His Son who died for each of us sitting at His right side. When we stop trusting in man and put our trust in Him we will find that peach that surpasses all understanding and finally live our lives as God intended.

    • Annette

We won’t be here in 10 years. Draw close to Christ. Be a “wise virgin” and keep your lantern filled with oil. Don’t look to anyone or anything other than Christ Jesus. Study the Word. Love Him. He’s preparing a place for us, and we’re going to be having supper with Him soon!

  • Pat

People in Europe have no idea what prosperity or abundance means. They have never had it. Will America learn to be just as helpless.

    • Joel

Pat, that is a little bit of a generality.
Some part of Europe knows perfectly well what prosperity and abundance is : UK, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Danemark, Island, Switzerland, Austria, Italy…
Never make generality because it gives a wrong image.

And saying that Europeans NEVER had it is a complete lack of knowledge of European History.

It’s time for the American people to stop thinking that the phrase “USA is the richest country that the world has ever seen” is true. Every Empire use the same kind of propaganda to his people. Before that the British Empire, the French Empire, the Spanish Empire, and bla bla bla Empire, all those Empire said something of the kind… which create a feeling of pride, which also blind the eyes of people about reality.

My toilet got plugged and I kept saying everything was going to be alright. But you know what? It wasn’t going to be alright and it didn’t work out so good. There were problems that had to be dealt with…once they were dealt with……THEN, everything was going to be alright.

Right now what you are seeing and hearing is people that are just wanting to flush the thing and think positively. HELLO!! cross your fingers and flush again has NOT been working.

And just who is this “Barack Obama” that you keep refering to????? Is he in the yellow pages under “plumber” or “more of what you have too much of already”?

  • Stan

    “Alright” is not a word.
All ready and already are words.
All together and altogether are words.

In short, “alright” is not all right.

The day the money died….. by Zedge Hero

    Long Long Time ago…..
    I can still remember
How that money used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my choice
That I could hear those peoples voice
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

But September 08 made me shiver
    And I began collecting Silver
    Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

    I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about the housing slide,
But something touched me deep inside
    The day the money died.

So bye-bye, to the American lie..
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall Street boys were thinking risky with lies
Saying’, “this’ll be the day that we die.
“this’ll be the day that we die.”

Did you write the loans for the Bank,
And do you have faith in Ben Bernank,
for if the Government tells you so?
Do you believe in too big to fail,
Is you house or car now up for Sale?
And can you teach me how to refinance real slow

Well, I know that you’re still in love with this
cause I see it in your complete abyss
    We really both can choose
Man, I hate those derivatives too.

I was a lonely disgruntled American buck
With a sick sensation that started to suck
But I knew I was out of luck
    The day the money died.

    We started singin’,
    “bye-bye, to the american lie.”
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall street boys were thinkng risky with lies
Saying’, “this’ll be the day that we die.
“this’ll be the day that we die.”

Now for four years we’ve been on our own
While Bank’s got fat on a rollin’ loan,
But that’s not how it used to be.
When geithner says live within our means,
As a puppet from the powers that be
But a silence came from you and me,

Oh, and while the US was looking down,
China is stealing it’s thorny crown.
    Europe union was adjourned;
    Another bailout was returned.
And while Obama read a book on marx,
The occupiers protested in the park,
And we sold gold in the dark
    The day the money died.

    We were singin’,
    “bye-bye, to the American lie.”
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall street boys were thinking risky with lies
Saying’, “this’ll be the day that we die.
“this’ll be the day that we die.”

bets, and debts in a summer sweat.
The stock fell off cause of European debt,
World Markets high and falling fast.
It’s still too high for the price of gas.
The politicians debt bill did pass,
With downgrade rating in a flash

Now the European air was filled with fumes
All the riots were just starting to exhume.
We all got up to fight,
Oh, but we never got the right
`cause the FED tried to print some more
The money they added was making us poor.
    Do you recall the horror
    The day the money died?

    We were singin’,
    “bye-bye, to the american lie.”
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall street boys were thinkng risky with lies
Saying’, “this’ll be the day that we die.
“this’ll be the day that we die.”

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
401 k’s all lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: Ben be nimble, Ben be quick!
The Federal Reserve and that magic stick
Cause the printing press is the devil’s only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
    No angel born in hell
    Could break that Chairmen’s spell.
And as the Gold climbed high into the night
To light the path that was actually right,
I saw Bernanke laughing with delight
    The day the money died

    He was even singin’,
    “bye-bye, to the american lie.”
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall street boys were thinkng risky with lies
Saying’, “this’ll be the day that we die.
“this’ll be the day that we die.”

I bought some gold and sang the blues
    Hoping for some happy news
Banks got tired and burned away…….

I went down to the old coin store
Where I’d bought silver years before,
But the man there said my money wouldn’t pay.

And on Wall street: the brokers screamed,
The CEO’s cried, and oil creamed.
    But not a word was spoken;
The global markets all were broken.
And the two men I admire most:
Ron Paul and the Thomas Jefferson’s ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
    The day the money died.

    And they were even singin’,
    “bye-bye, to the american lie.”
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall street boys were thinkng risky with lies
Saying’, “this’ll be the day that we die.
“this’ll be the day that we die.”

    they were even singin’,
    “bye-bye, to the american lie.”
Drove my stock to the top,
    And the market went dry.
And them Wall street boys were thinkng risky with lies

“this’ll be the day that we die.”

  • From my corner of the web I view the “improved unemployment figures” as thus: A political contrived move designed to influece voters during this election year. How?

If we place all the unemoployed on a 99 week continued payment plan, when this runs out the unemployed are no longer counted in this time frame and mid point grouping apears to coincide with the election – followed by the mantra from D.C. that the “sun is shineing and a chicken in every pot” drivel.

I wish you wouldn’t delegitimize your arguements and points by making it ALL such a slanted partisan issue with all blame on just the Democrat thieves (while also forgetting to slam Chris Dodd or Bill Clinton as the sleaziest Dems to hit the inner or outer beltway in many decades).

The Repubs since Reagan (including Bush Sr. {a.k.a. Herr Bilderberg Bin Laden and we can’t forget good ole Phil Gram) have played huge instrumental and fundamental roles sealing the doom of this country. And let’s face it, the current contenders for the 2012 election are each clearly and breathtakingly batsh#t crazies with not one of them offering any alternative economic plans other than slaying and sacrificing those currently hanging on by their very tired, worn and bloodied fingernails by cutting off the shreds of America’s already relatively tiny safety net to somehow survive in our society with NO RESOUCES WHATSOEVER!

I’m reminded of a comment from a cab driver made to me in New York in the early 90’s that really stuck with me. He was a recent Russian (Soviet) immigrant who’d been in America for about a year. When I asked him what he thought an how it was going his reply was “this place is more cruel than Stalin’s Soviet Union”.

Of course I should mention he’d also been a highly skilled engineer back in the old country and was driving a cab here.

Just sayin… What do we plan to do – as a society – with the millions of formerly middle class masses now succumbed or succumming to lives of abject poverty that is spreading through the whole country? Are we going to just ignore the urban Appalachia looming over our future while we bicker it’s “the Democrats” or “the Republicans” or “the President’s” faults? We’ve elected each and every one of these crooks into office. We’ve sheepishly (or lemmingly)accepted such distortions of our precious and mallable Constitution over the years by the politacal, justice and financial systems we can hardly blame anyone but ourselves. The founding fathers who wrote the Constitution are all rolling over in their graves, whether they were Jeffersonians or Hamiltonians. America has not only established a rigid and entrenched aristocracy (or plutocracy) but it has also established the banking industry as the rulers while encouraging religious chest thumping as a force-fed diversion of the seething masses.

America has been “over” for a long time now. We’re just in the adjustment period now to what will slowly descend to a new and squalid reality. If somebody would just send out an official Wall Street or government (redundant)email or tweet acknowledging this we could maybe start to fix things and begin rebuilding.

Fat chance of that, thoug. It’s just not how history “happens”.

  • WVBORN56

Good article Michael. It is sad to see what is happening to our Country. The Bible predicts a one world government and economy in Revelation so this has to occur at some point for that to occur. It appears the stage is being set pretty quickly of late. The sad thing is our politicians seem to be part of sell out in America. I certainly prefer freedom to totalitarianism. It is sad to witness yet as a washed in the blood of Jesus believer I have hope, forgiveness and purpose and best of all a coming King!

The Fed has tinkered too much with the economy in the hopes of saving it. In business school you learn that your first loss, once you recognize it, is your time to take it and move on or you will usually end up losing more over time. All we are doing is “kicking the can down the road”, hoping we can outlive the issue and dump it on the next generation. Greece, Spain, EU, what is happening there will happen here and most people here in the states don’t have a clue as to the conditions in these countries.
With so many brillant, educated people in high level positions in government and business and the wonderful opprotunities that our leaders could have taken to avoid todays issues I have to question “Why has this happened?”

Time to adjust national and personal psychology. Learning to live with less AND appreciating what one has will be a good start. If no one has noticed: It’s a war of the rich against the rest of us and thus far, they’re winning. They want it all and will do anything to get it.

  • Syrin

Sad thing is, liberals believe Obamugabe and are so economically illiterate that they have no earthly understanding, or perhaps even the capacity to understand, what Obamugabe’s regulations and taxes have done to this nation.

Our list of business regulations is now 160,000 PAGES long and growing. Yeah, REALLY hard to figure out why all our businesses are going overseas.

The good news? Tomorrow we officially have the highest corporate taxes on the planet making us EASILY the most taxed nation on the planet. The GARYS of the world pay ina pittance but demand more while the productive members are getting aboslutely crushed. The economic figures speak for themselves. This is what happens when a gov’t wages war on prosperity, productivity and freedom. Any questions GARY ?!?!

    • Gary2

      Any questions GARY ?!?!

The FACTS about the US corporate taxes. I know the right does not like facts (they watch fox after-all) This puts to rest the crap about the USA having too high corporate taxes.

Reality Check: Effective U.S. Corporate Tax Rate Much Lower Than Most Other Developed Nations

This is constant refrain from Republicans, who then blame the supposedly high U.S. corporate tax rate for discouraging job creation. But as we’ve noted time and time again, while the U.S. has a high statutory corporate tax rate (meaning the rate on paper), U.S. corporations actually pay incredibly low taxes due to the ever-proliferating loopholes, credits, and deductions in the tax code and the use of overseas tax havens.

U.S. corporate taxes that were actually paid (the effective rate) fell to a 40 year low of 12.1 percent in fiscal year 2011, despite corporate profits rebounding to their pre-Great Recession heights. The U.S. both taxes its corporations less and raises less in revenue from corporate taxes than its foreign competitors.

As you can see the % of gov corporate taxes pays for has been steadily declining.

I know all you right wing nuts don’t believe in facts and I am beginning to think Michael doesn’t either. Some of the above was cut/paste from different web sites.

  • Syrin

Oh, and to make matters even better, we have this bit of news. Care to comment GARY ?!?!?!? GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM!!

“Two years ago, when introducing then promptly enacting Obamacare, the president stated that healthcare law reform would not cost a penny over $1 trillion ($900 billion to be precise), and that it would not add ‘one dime’ to the debt. It appears that this estimate may have been slightly optimistic… by a factor of 1700%. Because coincident with the recent Supreme Court debacle, in which a constitutional law president may be about to find that his magnum opus law is, in fact, unconstitutional, someone actually read the whole thing cover to cover, instead of merely relying on the CBO’s, pardon Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs’, funding estimates. That someone is Republican Jeff Sessions who after actually running the numbers has uncovered that the true long-term funding gap is a mind-boggling $17 trillion, just a tad more than the original sub $1 trillion forecast. This latest revelation means that total underfunded US welfare liabilities: Medicare, Medicaid and social security now amount to $99 trillion! Add to this total US debt which in 2 months will be $16 trillion, and one can see why Japan, which is about to breach 1 quadrillion in total debt (yen, but who’s counting), may want to start looking in the rearview mirror for up and comer competitors. And while Obama may have been taking creative license with a number that is greater than total US GDP, he was most certainly correct when saying that Obamacare would not add a penny to US debt. Because the second the US government comes to market to fund a true total debt/GDP ratio of 750%, it is game over, and the Fed will have its hands full selling Treasury puts every waking nanosecond to have any time left for the daily 3pm stock market ramp.

But just listem to economically illiterate but absolutely feral GARY demand more from the few who contribute while telling us the problem isn’t spending.

Watch “The Hunger Games”. THAT is the end game of the liberals and GARY

    • Gary2

When you respond to my other posts where me and many others called out your stupidity I will respond to your posts. When I beat you in the argument you simply “take your toys” and run home.

I really don’t blame you as I best you in every argument we have.

Its so easy to show up the conservatives/libertardians

      • knightowl77

Calling someone “stupid” is not a winning argument no matter how much you believe it is…

The only way you “win” a la Charlie Sheen is by out insulting the people you talk with….Again an “insult” is not a winning argument….

The same goes for you knightowl77 when you make insults to people that have a different viewpoint than you. I am correct when I say that you’re an hyprocrite because you support Mitt Romney and make insults yourself. So once again, my friend, you’re an hypocrite.

      • davidmpark

Gary2, it was only you and sometimes another person who tried to argue with Syrin – I looked it up. Not “many others”.

Syrin did not pack up his toys and go home, he baited you and you took it hook, line, sinker. Instead of openly debating the data; you accuse him of acting like a child, which he is not.

It’s called social pressure and projection: pretend that a majority of peers are against a target, and then project the things the accuser has done wrong onto the target. It’s classic Leftist behavior.

You took the bait, Gary2, you couldn’t argue the data, and looked weak. Your fault. Deal with it.

        • xander cross

Just like how ron paul supporters act like when they are presented with the facts of him working with Mitt Romney and his racist newsletter that he wrote and then lied about. You just like knighowl77, an hyprocrite.

And it wont be long now.

I know a guy who works for the City of New York–loyal Democrat, adores Obama, thinks the economy is picking up considerably, claims the media has exaggerated the severity of this economic downturn, and believes that if people are broke, it’s because they aren’t working hard enough. Can you say…..TOTALLY CLUELESS? Sure, the economy is great if you have a nice cushy city job that includes high pay and generous benefits. For millions of others, The Banana Republic of America (formerly the USA) is a country that is in serious decline on so many levels. I think the seeds of our destruction were sown in 1973 when the Godless liberals took over the supreme court. Our governments (local, state & federal) have been on a quest to kick Christianity out of the public conscience ever since. They had a lot of help from the likewise Godless liberal media. We’ve destroyed 50 million of our own people, and no society can long survive like that. We didn’t think there would ever come a day when we would sow what we have reaped? The Lord God almighty says he is not as a man that He should forget. Assuming Americans will refuse to turn back, it’s only a question of how hard we are going to fall and when.

I remember some great times in the 60s, 70s, 80s, & 90s though my friends.

Syrin–I think you must be drunk.

And yet another study showing conservatives to be dumb.

Admit it conservatives–to think the way you do is not too smart. cutting taxes increases revenue, trickle down crap and all that.

Don’t Drink and Vote: New Study Says Alcohol (And General Thoughtlessness) Makes People More Conservative

Getting drunk is known to cause erratic, irrational, and, overall, thoughtless behavior — public urination, bar fights, tears in the streets. Now, go ahead and add political conservatism to that list.

A new study, published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, tested whether low-effort thought promotes political conservatism, and part of the study measured alcohol’s effects on political positions. Researchers found that the higher the blood alcohol content, the more conservative the views on sex, education, and political identification became.

Researchers hypothesized that drinking turns people Republican because political conservatism arises in the absence of deliberate thought. People with a lot on their minds, under time constraints, or told to respond in a cursory manner, rather than think deeply and use “recognition memory — an indicator of effortful thought — were also more conservative.

“Together these data suggest that political conservatism may be a process consequence of low-effort thought,” the study concluded.

The less you think (or more you drink), the more conservative you become? Shocker! Cheers to the right-wing.

      Hey GARY.

Actually, Lincoln was a Republican and he won the war against the confederates.

Lincoln was a tyrant! This whole mess started with HIM…….our first dictator who trampled on the Constitution and gave our gov’t its first taste of absolute power. You’re right that 2012 is going to look like the good ole days. With Baby Boomer spending dropping off in the next few years, Gen X can’t make up for the enormous shortfall in consumer spending, because they are 30 million smaller in number than the Boomers, plus they don’t have the cash/credit that the Boomers had. We are going to have to seriously adjust to a new normal, and I’m thinking that much of America will look like Brazil or Mexico.

Gary 2, You are in the majority of Americans who blindly “believe” in their party rhetoric. BOTH parties are in it for themselves. Power=corruption and by giving stupid Americans an “illusion of choice” by having this 2 party bogus system, nothing will ever change. The Federal govt. just grows along with congressional power and perks. We are living in a fascist country, soon to be a police state.

You gotta get off of that repub. vs. Democrat thing. They are both traitors. PERIOD!

    • Gary2

there is a lot of truth to what you are saying!

  • Traveler

At some point it is going to be worked out that a government, any government is not really able to make any nation prosper. It is the common citizens of a country that make things happen, the most a government can do is get them all pulling in the same direction.

Much of what has happened is a result of tying everything up in so many regulations that the common citizen is unable to function while some large corporations have legislated themselves exclusive monopolies over a market that has been plundered of all its money. After it has all collapsed the hive mentality will fall as well allowing the people to pick up the pieces and start over.

  • Maybe it’s time to come to Jesus. He said He would never leave us – He would never let us go and He would never let us suffer beyond what we could bear.
I heard the other day that O’Bama’s net worth was now around 7 or 8 million dollars. What was his net worth when he took office three years ago?
How many maids does his wife have and who pays for them? How about previous Presidents wives?
I hear all the time about 180,000 an hour trips on Air Force one but I don’t recall one helicopter ride to Camp David yet?
If you are convinced in our current administration then maybe start watching Fox News on T.V. and reading WND on the innernet daily.
I’m now 71 years old and the last generation to witness World War and my dreams and hopes is in “God We Trust” and it is time that we find people who will be a voice of the majority who still are Christian and the family unit and a Democracy not an Emperiorship.
God loves you and so do I but do you love Him?

There are only 2 types of people who go to church (mosque, synagogue etc.):- the intelligently subnormal who believe what they are told there and buy into the whole thing (heaven and hell, 72 virgins, karmic reincarnation etc. etc.)and the state tools that run the operation who tell the 1st lot that they should be ashamed of being human and then extract an extra religion tax out of an already overtaxed demographic. It is no wonder that congregations are often referred to as a ‘flock’ – think about it!

    • Annette

Hey, Charles! Let’s pray for the Rapture to happen soon. I know that is harsh, but when we are gone, they can have their world their way. Even when the judgements of God happen, they are not going to repent. They are just going to spit in God’s face. Let them have the world they created. I want to be with Him!

  • Rachael

The comments here are pretty much on track until some idiots begin playing the name blame game. That’s because they can’t think on their own, so they just conjure up someone else to blame. They aren’t old enough to remember more than two presidents. They don’t understand the reason why there is a dem. in office today is because the Reps were so durn bad back then. Ah, but the Reps got into office back then because the Dems were so durn bad! **********. Wake up folks! This 2 party system is faulty, always has been. Read your history. And it’s the PEOPLE who are to blame. No one can do anything to us unless we let them. We sit idly by and allow these “elected officials”, the “mainstream media”, the “corporate junkies” run us into the ground. What are we to do? Well, think about it for once. Get your noses out of your blackberries long enough to look up and around you. See what’s happening! You’re gonna trip over your chains pretty soon.

  • greg

Why does everyone blame the politicians the citizens are the ones to blame we gave up are freedoms and decided to run are kids to soccer games and let them make our decisions for us and we did nothing now those are blaming politicians
the citizens need to participate in govt all the time not just bitch when we see the writing on the wall no matter who is elected we will not pull out of this with out pain are only hope is that we elect some one who can soften the landing
we have nobody to blame but ourselves

  • Bernie

We are already seeing the “Balkanization” of the United States. In less than a century, probably a lot sooner than that, we will see this country divide on racial lines. Of course this will be preceded by civil war 2.

[The average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States is rapidly approaching the $4.00 mark.] In the Virginia suburbs of DC I’ve seen prices of $4.29 lately, and those will undoubtedly go higher. Amazingly enough, on TV and radio news I’m told there’s not much Obama can do about rising gas prices, yet at the same time he and his band of war profiteers have surrounded Iran with military bases in adjacent countries and threaten it with a massive attack that could easily result in the closing of the Strait of Hormuz. Thanks, Barry!

    • Gary2

      4.19 in the milwaukee area

      • SandraO

Gary2 should welcome higher gas prices because BO and the Democrats love it! BO and the Democrats plan to raise gas taxes even higher so they can funnel the tax money out to phoney solar companies in California that will go bankrupt before giving the tax money back to the re-election campaigns of BO and the Democrats. It’s called crony capitalism that benefits the corrupt Democrat elite.

Upset the flow and supply. Let’s have all out boycott days. Even if we only get 50% participation, let’s fight back in anyway legally possible. Don’t take this laying down. Walk, bicycle, carpool, work from home or just take one day off per week. If needed, then we boycott two days a week. Do as little driving this summer as possible. Stick your oil wells where the sun doesn’t shine you greedy pirates.

  • Gary2

    Libertarians–your bull crap is exposed:

The Self-Made Myth exposes the false claim that business success is the result of heroic individual effort with little or no outside help

It takes a village to raise a business—it’s time to recognize that fact.

    • greg

Gary pls explain how the village raised my business

      • gary2

If it needs to be explained then you will not get it anyway. Think of all the gov help (educated workforce/infrastructure/resounses etc) that you used along the way.

I should not need to explain the obvious

        • greg

Gary you and i and all the rest payed for these services nothing was given to us we gave the govt the money to hire a contractor
to supply these things and what RESOUNCES are you refering to its a little general i send all my employees for further education
the income i produce supports the infrastructure we all use even if some of the some of the people dont not provide tax revenue my company also employs 15-20 people in which i pay 1/2 of ssi 401 k 12.6 % unemployment 12.5 % comp w no claims I PUT MY OWN MONEY IN THIS AND TOOK ALL THE RISK ive never been late on pay my average hrly wage for employees is $22.50 hr not to mention $500.00 per employee avg for health ins per month if i dont succeed you can bet the village and and any other debtor will take everything i own which makes matters worse is the games the govt is playing with your and my money you obviously never owned a business because your statement is blatantly stupid and whats your next talking point WE WILL JUST GROW OUR WAY OUT OF THIS DEBT

  • Gary2

Michael–I posted this a few posts ago but its more applicable here.

Instead of bashing Obama why don’t you give some thought to this:

This is how I see the election boiling down to these choices:

If you want higher taxes for the poor and middle class and less taxes for the rich, vote for Romney and the Republicans. If you want Voucher Care instead of Medicare where the elderly and the disabled will virtually have no insurance, vote for Romney and the Repubicans. If you want higher budget deficits, vote for Romney and the Republicans. If you want a war on women and women’s health, vote for Romney and the Republicans.

If you think that healthcare should be available for all Americans, vote for Obama and the Dems. If you think that the middle class deserve tax cuts and the rich should pay their fair share, vote for Obama and the Dems. If you think that women should have healthcare that doesn’t put the government or their employer between them and their doctor, then vote for Obama and the Dems. If you believe that the LGBT community has rights and should be treated equally, then vote for Obama and the Dems.

The choice is clear to me.

    Comment from Huff post copy/paste

    • greg

Gary you seem to be repeating what you hear have
you done any research? or do you have any facts?

      • MB92083

He admits he is regurgitating bull crap from the Huffington Post. I bet thats where he read his favorite article that conservatives are dumb.

  • Gary2

Yes we can tax the rich and fix the deficit/debt. They have more than enough money!

But now, a growing body of research suggests not only that the government could raise much more revenue by sharply raising the top tax rates paid by the richest Americans, but it could do so without slowing economic growth. Top tax rates could go as high as 80 percent or more.

Nonetheless, the research suggests there is much more money available to close the budget deficit than we previously thought, if only we were willing to raise tax rates to where they were back in the early ’70s, in the administration of Richard M. Nixon.

    • davidmpark

It’s not your money. You didn’t CREATE it.

I know the Left thoroughly believe that all wealth belongs to the state: the ‘rich’ are the thieves that stole it. Leftist doctrine also says that all individuals are property to the collective; that an individual, as such, is a sinful chaotic nothing that can only gain their salvation from the sin of being through sacrificing to society’s will and pleasure. If the individual does not succumb to the will of the commune, then social justice is necessary to purge the deviant from the memory and physical state of the collective being.

My parents are National Socialists, grandmother was a communist, uncles are Marxists: I know the whole thing. And it’s evil. It only leads to death, mindlessness, and actual sins.

      • gary2

It’s not your money. You didn’t CREATE it.

yes it is our money. Generally speaking the rich got that way by exploiting others and using government systems (patents etc), bailouts, corporate welfare to get rich.

Time for them to pay back.

let me repeat–yes it is our money.

        • SandraO

Gary2 is fricking fool for the left. BO and the Democrats in Congress are Communists who live like royalty at taxpayer expense. They hang with rich wall street bankers, Silicon Valley billionaires and the rich hollywood leftist elite like AlecBaldwin. There is no way in hell that BO his Democrat cronies are going to raise taxes on their rich campaign donors. It’s their money and they aren’t about to share it with a Wisconsin cheesehead like Gary2.

        • greg

Gary our currency is fiat money theres only an illusion of wealth based on what your saying no effort would be put forth and the fed prints money and justs hands it out equally to every citizen I wish the fed could do that my life would be a whole lot easier I want a million dollars a yr where do i sign up but id rather have my freedoms
to run my life the way I choose I guess its ok if they take other peoples money you give them the right to do that they will be after yours next if you think we can grow our way out of this or tax your way out of this your wrong we are headed for some rough times ahead the question we need to ask is how long can the fed monetize our debt when that stops were in trouble all the fed is doing is doing is pushing our problems down the road both parties are to blame why should you pick one party over another you should be pissed at both because its me and you and every other citizen that will endure the hardships brought about by the mismanagement of our govt but the fact is the citizens feel asleep at the wheel we let them take away our rights we let them spend us into oblivion we as a country found it was easier for us to let them make decisions for us and this is what happens when we let them govern unchecked we as citizens fight each other over party talking points over whose right and whose wrong were both wrong just look at the state of despair alot of people are in. its time we start talking about how we can get out of this mess which I believe is not going to be easy we will probably go through extremely hard times and I would rather have a neighbor that can help than argue over whose party is better

      • mondobeyondo

It IS our money. We earned it. They created it.

    • bringonthecollapse

Yep Obamacare is for all but it doesn’t say it will cover everything. The IPAB (if you actually read the bill) has no power to change anything except the reimbursement rates for procedures. If they say the goobermint will only pay $150 for a hip replacement well I can guess how many hip replacements will be done.

As for tax the rich to solve the deficit… I had to pick myself up off the floor from laughing so hard at your comment. Duhhh. Let us see. Let us assume for the moment that the rich paid all of the tax receipts (they don’t but the math is easier for you). Each year the goobermint has been getting between 2.0 and 2.5 Trillion dollars. With the current level of spending, and no increase in costs or curret programs (not including Obamacare yet either) you would need to raise the tax rate on the “rich” from 35% to 52%. Yepper that will spur the economy just like raising taxes in Greece and Spain and Portugal did. Wait a second. They increased their taxes and saw a decline in tax revenues.
Aside from those little things call facts and simple numbers I support those for voting for Obama. The quickest way to eliminate the liberal progressive mindset is to collapse the economy and the Obidiot would do that. I am highly amused by how many libs don’t understand that. I am also amused by how many repubs and conservs think that by just winning the next election will change our course. I have not heard a single viable candidate, on any side, with a plan to avoid the cliff (Ron Paul is brilliant on domestic spending policy but aside from that the rest from him is scary and idealistic). woo-hoo. Obama will be the fastest way to social and economic armagheddon. Sorry but financial facts are facts. You can not spend your way out of bankruptcy. Try it first in your personal before suggesting the government can do it. Don’t go to the CBO website and look at things like deficit costs in the next 10 years or projected tax revenues etc. The CBO is what Clinton, Bush, and Obama currently use for their numbers. Bad thing is almost always their numbers are low. Check out what their projections are for the debt payments for the next ten years then get back to me.

    • TtT Engine

If Bill Gates donated his entire fortune and you add in the Waltons fortune to the U.S. Government [a liberal utopia], it would cover the U.S.debt, on current obligations only, for about 25 days. Raising taxes on the rich, is a drop in the bucket. I suggest you go to “”. I hope you are sitting down when you visit this web-cite. The U.S. government has become a ponzi scheme. I will never see any of the thousands I’ve paid into Social Unsecurity. I saw my dog eating a lot of lawn grass today. I pray it is not a foreshadowing of the future. Blessed Holy Week and Easter !

    • Redstatelady

Why don’t we look at the 50% that don’t pay taxes and ask them to “contribute” some. Boy are you bitter and full of names to call everyone. I work very hard for what money I have and have worked multiple jobs at the same time to make ends meet. Hard work is what helps you get along in this life. You have the opportunity to succeed, it isn’t handed to you, you have to work for it. I, for one, am sick and tired of supporting everyone who doesn’t want to support themselves.

  • J

    Gary –

That is not true at all. You are falling into this trap that the mainstream media has set for you. You are angry at business owners, but you should be angry at big businesses that care nothing about the stakeholders (ie, people, the environment). Do not put down small business owners, they ALL, except for people that inherit, work very hard to keep their businesses alive and somewhat successful everyday, which is harder and harder to do. Very ignorant comment on your part and I hope you realize that we need to be more discerning in who we blame. If we go and blame small business, what will be left of the world? Capitalism is not bad, it’s us and how we use it that are bad. It’s US, that allow the GE’s and Monsanto’s to get away with what they do. Remember, who we are fighting, it’s not the guy who worked hard his whole life to open a small business of his own.

    • gary2

I generally agree its the medium and big businesses that are the problem. Do not think that small businesses are without fault. They would do the exact same thing the larger business do if they could.

Yes small business creates most new jobs but they also loose most new jobs so its a wash.

  • nick

Good use of facts but the “Don’t worry about a thing…” mantra became a bit tedious by the 10th line. Poor writing.

Show a liberal true reality and facts and they scream racism, global warming, or it’s propaganda. On global warm why did alot of the evidence get destroyed? The recent well-publicized episode about the JetBlue captain losing it got me thinking.

A guy boards a plane. He notices a good friend also boarding the same plane. The friend’s name is Jack. Upon recognizing him, the guy shouts, “Hi, Jack!”, and waves his arms frantically to get Jack’s attention.

You don’t have a crisis yet.

After reunification in Germany, 3 thirds of jobs in East Germany were destroyed.

Some cities hat 65% unemployment. They are down to 16% now.

Fuel price was DEM 1.50 per liter.
    Now it’s EUR 1.50 per liter. (2001: 1 EU ~ 2DEM)

Wages in East Germany are still 68% of wages in West Germany.

20 years after unification People are still leaving the area of former East Germany to work in “West” Germany or abroad. If you ask a German Manager or Engineer in China or South East Asia where he is from he most likely will say: East Germany.

Berlin has started to tear down residential blocks years ago because they stood empty.

In East German cities you get the first 3 month rent free, when you sign a lease.

There is hardly any foreigner living in East Germany, but the highest concentration of Neo Nazis whining that the foreigners are taking their jobs.
A right-wing terror group was systematically killing foreign fast food shop owners in the last years, and the police looked the other way, intensifying monitoring of the left.

The most striking feature in East Germany: People always look angry. Nobody smiles. Nobody smiles at you.

My opinion is that this blog mostly cries wolf whilst blaming the wrong people.

Why don’t you point out the actual underlying problems (like the stranglehold corporate America has on the Republican Party) and target those responsible (like wealthy so-called ‘conservatives’ and their pet politicians)?

Oh wait, I know: it’s because you’re selling gloom and doom (literally, all your ads are for products of paranoia) and trying to drum up more support for whackjobs like Ron and Rand Paul.
