Now THAT Is Cold – 19 Signs That America Is Becoming A Very Heartless Place

The economy is not the only thing that is wrong with America.  In order for a society to function smoothly, people need to be able to trust one another and be able to expect that most of their fellow citizens will behave in a somewhat civilized manner.  Unfortunately, we are starting to see the very fabric of our society slowly unravel all over the nation.  The truth is that America is becoming a very heartless place.  People simply do not care about one another the way that they used to in this country.  Of course there are many exceptions, but the reality is that millions of hearts are going cold from coast to coast.  In America today, we are more self-absorbed than ever, more self-centered than ever, and we are more isolated from others than ever.  Just think about the number of people that you personally interact with on a regular basis.  Unless you are involved with a very large organization such as a school or a church, it is probably a very limited number.  Our addiction to entertainment gives us the illusion of being connected to society, but the truth is that Americans spend less time personally interacting with one another than ever before.  Meanwhile, Americans are seemingly becoming more arrogant, more prideful, more angry, more brutal, more greedy and more addicted to pleasure than ever before.  When you combine millions of very cold hearts with an economy that is rapidly crumbling, that adds up to a whole lot of trouble in the years ahead.

Even government authorities are becoming heartless.  TSA agents and police officers are actually trained to "act tough" and to bark orders at us.  In the old days, you could reason with a police officer, but these days if you try to talk common sense with some of these thugs you will get tasered before you even realize what is happening.

The American people can see the deep corruption in Washington D.C. and throughout most of our other major institutions and they wonder why they should keep trying to do "the right thing".

If our leaders are selfish and heartless, then it is only natural that millions of average Americans will follow their examples.

In America today, we are taught to hate one another.  Democrats are taught to hate Republicans and Republicans are taught to hate Democrats.  We are a deeply divided nation and our hearts are getting colder with each passing year.

Parents are becoming more cruel, thieves are becoming more bold and thugs are becoming more brutal.  Hate, anger and frustration are fueling some really twisted behavior all over the country.  America is changing, and not for the better.

The following are 19 signs that America is becoming a very heartless place....

#1 At one airport in Hawaii, TSA agents recently required one new mother to go to a public restroom and fill up the empty baby bottles she was carrying with breast milk before they would allow her to get on to her flight.  The following is how one local news station described the incident....

She claims agents told her she couldn't take the pump on the plane because the bottles in her carry-on were empty.

"I asked him if there was a private place I could pump and he said no, you can go in the women's bathroom. I had to stand in front of the mirrors and the sinks and pump my breast in front of every tourist that walked into that bathroom. I was embarrassed and humiliated and then angry that I was treated this way.

When the bottles were full, she was allowed back on the plane.

#2 One way that a society is judged is by how it treats children.  Unfortunately, stories such as the following one from Texas are becoming increasingly common in America today....

Texas authorities said Tuesday they removed 11 children from a crowded home where a registered sex offender lives after they found eight confined in a small, dark bedroom with restraints tying some to their beds.

Along with the children, 10 adults were living in the one-story, 1,700-square-foot home in Dayton, about 30 miles northeast of Houston, Child Protective Services spokeswoman Gwen Carter said. One month after a raid on the house, authorities are still trying to determine how the children are related and why they were there, she said.

#3 Across the United States, there have been an increasing number of reports of teens randomly attacking people on the street for no apparent reason whatsoever.  In some cases, the victims are actually being pulled out of their vehicles.  The following recent example comes from Philadelphia....

IN A HORRIFIC assault in Center City on Saturday night, three teenagers who were spouting racial slurs pulled a man out of a cab to beat him. And when the cabdriver intervened to stop the assault, the teens turned their rage on him, police said yesterday.

#4 One man down in Arizona was recently charged with skinning and eating a cat.  He told authorities that he did it because he was "hungry".

#5 In the Detroit area, an 86-year-old World War II veteran was recently brutally carjacked in the middle of the day at a gas station.  His leg was broken during the assault, and as he slowly crawled across the concrete parking lot many people walked by him and drove by him as if he was not even there.

#6 One 69-year-old woman down in Texas recently went without running water for six years and nobody ever helped her out until just recently.

#7 In Ohio, one man has been charged with raping three children that he adopted and with allowing other men to have sex with them as well.

#8 One man down in Texas was recently fined by the city government for not mowing the lawn of a house that he had already lost to foreclosure.

#9 These days thieves will steal anything that is metal that they think that they can resell.  In the Philadelphia area recently, there has been a rash of brass door knocker thefts.  Thieves have been going up and pulling them right off of the front doors of private homes.

#10 As the price of gasoline rises, gasoline thieves are becoming more creative.  The following is a recent example from the Tampa Bay area....

As gas thefts go, this one was deceptively elaborate.

Inside a blue Chevrolet Venture minivan, criminals had cut out a large hole in the floorboard and set up a portable pumping station, complete with power source, pump and plastic container.

The goal: to steal hundreds of gallons of gas pulled directly from the gas station's underground storage tank and funneled into a plastic tank inside the van.

Gasoline thefts have become so common in Detroit that one city councilman wants to force gas station owners to hire security guards.

#11 One 29-year-old female tutor was recently arrested for having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy that she was supposed to be tutoring.

#12 The ACLU is trying to force one library district in Washington state to allow full public access to pornography on library computers - even if children will be walking by and able to see what is going on.

#13 In America today, a lot of parents are becoming extremely cruel.  Down in Alabama, one 9-year-old girl recently died after being forced by her mother and grandmother to run for three hours straight as punishment for lying about having eaten some candy bars.

#14 Some Americans have become so desperate that they are trying to get sent to prison on purpose.  For example, one ex-police officer in Georgia recently robbed a bank and allowed authorities to catch him so that he could get food, shelter and free medical care in jail.

#15 What can account for the rash of seemingly random violent crimes that we have been seeing lately?  Over near Seattle, an 88-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman were brutally attacked by a 31-year-old man armed with a crossbow and a hatchet for no apparent reason whatsoever....

Prosecutors say 31-year-old John Chase was walking down the highway when he saw Ralph Aldrich, 88, in his back yard. Detectives say Chase shot and killed Aldrich with a crossbow and then went inside the home and repeatedly hit 83-year-old June Aldrich with a hatchet.

#16 In America today, many people are so angry and so frustrated that even the slightest provocation can push them over the edge.  For example, one man in Georgia actually firebombed a Taco Bell because they did not put enough meat in his Chalupa.

#17 These days Americans are having a hard time feeling safe in their own homes.  Down in Maryland, one very sick home invader was recently sentenced to 100 years in prison for doing some very twisted things....

In one case, authorities said, he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl after breaking into her family's Fort Washington home with a cinder block and forced her to pose nude on a bed as he took photographs and videos of her.  Authorities said in another case, Scott and an accomplice, Marcus Dermanellian Hunter – who has already pleaded guilty to federal firearms charges – held up a Bowie family at gunpoint in April 2009, used their debit cards to steal money from ATM machines and then stole a luxury car.

#18 In America today you never know who is going to come driving up to you on the street.  Most of the time people that you meet will be at least somewhat "normal", but there is also a chance that the next strangers that you run into will be crack-fueled perverts.  Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to a Montana teacher named Sherry Arnold...

Spell and Waters had left Colorado days before the crime claiming they wanted work in eastern Montana and western North Dakota's oil fields.

After smoking crack cocaine over the entire trip, Waters allegedly told Spell the drug 'brought the devil out in him' and began talking about kidnapping and killing a female, AP reports.

After they spotted Arnold, Spell claims that Waters told him to 'grab the lady' and pull her into their Ford Explorer as she jogged by.

After they got her into the Ford Explorer, they choked the life out of her and then buried her body in a shallow grave in North Dakota.

#19 In the Boston area, the FBI recently used a chainshaw to cut through the front door of one apartment during a raid.  They quickly subdued the woman living inside and had her on the floor for 35 minutes as her young daughter cried out to her.  Eventually they figured out that they had the wrong apartment and they issued a "routine apology" to the woman.

As our country falls apart all around us, there is going to be a greater need for love and compassion than ever before.

Don't count on the government to help those in need.  The government always does  a miserable job of that.

As I have written about previously, already more than 40 percent of all children in Atlanta and more than 50 percent of all children in Detroit are living in poverty.

In the years ahead those numbers are going to get even worse.

But it isn't just in the major cities where poverty is exploding.  Sadly, today one out of every four children in the United States is on food stamps.

As times get tough, you have two choices.

You can allow your heart to grow cold like so many other people are doing.

Or you can decide that you are going to become more loving and more compassionate than ever before.

America is becoming a very heartless place, and unfortunately there is no sign that trend is going to turn around any time soon.

But you don't have to become heartless.

Be a light that shines in the darkness.

In the end, you will be glad that you were.

” Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved if God loved us, we also ought to love one another ” 1 John 47-11

God gave us a simple rule to follow that would fix this whole mess ” Love the Lord your God with all your heart all your mind & all your soul & love your neighbor (brother/sister) as yourself. But unfortunately America has turned its back on God

You are so right Kathy, God bless you!

Great post, r.bitting! Isn’t it wonderful how the Bible has the answer for situation? Thanks for reminding us. You are a blessing. Keep up the good work!

    • You’re An Idiot

      Hey! You got one right.

      • r.bitting

You’re an I…. When I post God’s word, and the unsaved read it, I ALWAYS get it right. It’s the word of God that saves, salvation is of the Lord, not me. Maybe you should start caring enough to do the same. Besides, who are you to say that God won’t use any given passage in the bible to reach a person where they are at in their life. would’nt you be better served pointing folks to Christ instead of bashing others who are?

If it wasn’t for the brilliance of Sir Isaac Newton, a known Christian, we might not understand the laws of motion and be able to conqure gravity to land on the Moon.
It was his faith that led him search out the laws of nature and nature’s God.
If it wasn’t for the brilliance of Pascal, we might not have developed the computers that drive space exploration.

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”

    2 Timothy Ch. 3 verses 1 – 5, and Mathew Ch. 24 verse 12.

    Just a coincidence scoffers?

Those two are nothing compared with the entirety of Bible prophecy, but it’s not a matter of accepting physical proof. Like the bumper sticker says – “believing is seeing”, and why would you ever do something crazy like that?

That’s what you got to figure out for yourself through the following method that God recommended: “seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you”.

    • Lennie Pike

In that last sentence, I am expecting someone to make a wise crack about the word “ye” – like maybe questioning – “why is ye and you used in the same sentence?”

A better question would be: where does that urge to make any wisecrack at all come from………….Gary.

They still havent found Sherry Arnold’s body as far as I know. There hasnt been any mention of it on the news. Sick world we live in. Montana is starting to catch up with the rest of America. During the mid 2000′s two women were killed by crystal meth addicts and another man was slashed by a sword all in the same town. And this was before the collapse. I cant imagine what our country is going to look like once the painful austerity measures are in place. Human suffering will be abundant. El Pollo is spot on how this country will be like in the near future. Im frightened to think about what we will do when the stores are closed and the starving hordes come out of the towns after us for our cows and sheep. Its not gonna be pretty.

    • Gary3

A good portion of the “golden horde” will meet their end at the hands of their own kind as they wait for “help” to arrive. Many of them make no connection between cows and hamburgers.

    • Alasha

Who is she? I hafta google it. Not to mention the catastrophe in the mid west. even if ppl care, everything is happening so fast ….and that poor baby… found 10 miles from her home. she passed on today after fighting for a few. her mother, father and brother were all killed.

(Matthew 6:9-10) “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.

You probably will censor this…but this is exactly why we need to force all Americans even minorities to read, write and speak English.

No more political correctness in allowing Ebonics in school

Can’t pass the daily English quizzes? Then its after school and no summer vacations for you.

Michael I believe everything will work itself out when people are fluent in English….

90% of the people in jail speak Ebonics, yet black men get arrested about the same as white men when they both have 4 years of college.

    ——
As I have written about previously, already more than 40 percent of all children in Atlanta and more than 50 percent of all children in Detroit are living in poverty.

    • Alasha

i thk don’t there is no one simple single answer. the problem is complex and the answer likewise. i do agree a good command of english is a good start although when everything is press 1 for english, 2 for ….. the point can be negated.

      • liberranter

You might want to prove your point by learning to spell and by writing a coherent, grammatically correct English sentence.

(2 Tim 3:1-4 NIV) But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. {2} People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, {3} without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, {4} treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God–

    • Alasha

i wonder folks quote scripture (including myself) so much on this blog…. jst abt as much as i seen anywhere.

Any thought, Michael (Hope all is well)?

      • justamom

I’ve got a hunch, Alasha. Michael is a real Christian. Real Christians read his site. Real Christians want to share God’s Word everywhere. Real Christians know their own words have little lasting value whereas the Living Word of God abides forever.

        • xander cross

Are you sure it’s god’s word or the words of corrupt pope’s and bishops?

          • justamom

Xander, most on this site who post Scripture put a reference beside the verse. If you look it up, you can see exactly where it is in the Bible. OR you can Google the verse and find out if it is in the Bible. I would like to encourage you to read God’s Word for yourself; then you won’t wonder if something is in the Bible or not. You will know for yourself.

      • gary2

They need to go and quote it to each other on Michael’s other blogs. It does get tedious that all people can do is toss around bible verses. Its almost like playing poker. I will bet a Luke, oh no I will raise you a Titus and a Genesis. Ok I will double down on Song of Solomon.. Oh yeah I will do you one better. The book of James…You think that’s good how about Job???

    • justadad

      Also:
      Matthew 24:12
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.(NIV)

Mostly these are anecdotes of extreme violence that most people do not encounter in their daily lives, luckily. But yes America is becoming a colder place as unfortunately are most of the other nations. It is hard to say if it is due to urbanization, city folks are usually less friendly than country folks, the way we have all got richer, mostly at the cost of destroying our environment, or turning our backs to “communities”. Maybe a mix of all this.

We will probably go further down that path but eventually there should be a reaction. Hopefully not too far into the future!

  • Griff

#14 is Columbus, GA. Still no less tragically funny.

  • REED RICHARDS

    Michael,

If you want to talk about cold hearted, then nickname me “THE ICEMAN”. I do not hold sympathy for people whose wounds are self-inflicted, especially amerikans::

    1. WARFARE STATE

    2. POLICE STATE

    3. WELFARE STATE

There is nothing that can be done to save amerika from its impending collapse. The citizenry do not believe in constitutional principles, the rule of law, fairness, or justice. And once those ideals go out the window, no society can survive or thrive. The three states (war, police, welfare) of being that people, cheer, celebrate, and vote for will be the masses undoing. This is what they want, this is what their corrupt government gives them.

More war, police brutality, unemployment checks and food stamps anyone………..????????

    • Gary3

America is not finished. We just need a good flush. The cleansing will be painful.

    • knightowl77

I disagree about the “Police State”…it is increasing, the hand is heavier. But it is no where as bad as it could be or is likely to be…
These may be “the good ole days”…

  • Mad Max

Maybe we weren’t so nice to begin with. I don’t think most Americans care about themselves. Why else would we allow our country to go to the dogs. Wake up people!

This is a great article, but the information is appalling. It is sad to see this much heartlessness going on in our society. It is equally saddening that America is becomin a modern equivalent to Sodom and Gomorrah. It seems that rampant sexual deviancy is on the rise and things are happening that normal people would see as fantasy, but in fact it is reality.

Perhaps it is because we have such easy access to pornography on the internet? The Libertarian in me wants to say that responsible people should still have access to the internet despite the masses of wrong doers who abuse the privaledge that the internet provides. However, I do not think that the internet is what cause it. The abundance of sexual deviancy is far more ingrained into people then we are lead to believe. They would do the things they do whether they have computers, magazines or TVs, or not.

If you are a Biblical person then you will know that Satan is what is driving man to sexually pillage his fellow people. I am not very religious myself, but I am starting to recognize that something is happening in our society. It runs far deeper than the easy access to smut, it is something in our very souls.

Where is it all going to lead? I ask myself this constantly. If the few remainign good people do not make a stand sooner rather than later then there will be no civilization left to live in or maintain. It will be gone and people will left to fend for themselves and defend themsleves from the hordes of looters, rapists and decreped individuals. The clock is ticking and people had better get ready.

On a side note, Michael, you were a lawyer in college, correct? If so, what is a third year law student? What is their responsibility and what powers do they have? Yes, this is a strange question, but I was wondering what is was after watching this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkeApFa8fh0

Yes, I did graduate from law school.

And a third year law student is just someone that thinks they know it all but that really knows next to nothing. :)

      • REED RICHARDS

        You don’t say!

You, a law school graduate? Why not litigate against the NDAA, drug war, Military Commissions Act, Patriot Act, and all other manner of warfare, police, and welfare statism instead of running a blog? I would consider that a far wiser use of your time.

      • REED RICHARDS

        Michael,

Although you may not think it, it was a serious question. There are far more worthy and noble causes a lawyer can get involved with rather than running a blog. Why not practice law?

I think part of what looks like an upswing in evil acts is actually an upswing in reporting. The news will report anything sensation, the more horrific the better. Nobody reports it when the mailman goes out of his way to take a stack of magazines upstairs to an elderly lady who uses a walker and can’t get downstairs easily. You don’t hear anything about the homeless guys who took it on themselves to help out a kid being bullied. There’s no 6 o’clock news story about a cop pulling someone over to tell them a box of stuff fell off the back of their truck and she picked it up for them.

I’m not saying everything is wonderful. I see the bad things too, but more often I see people working together to make it, perhaps a little more often now. I was on the bus the other day and a lady was trying to drag her shopping cart onto the bus. Three different people helped her get on and off. It’s a little thing that doesn’t make the news, but small acts like those are going to save us.

  • mondobeyondo

So many of our fellow Americans have hearts that are colder than ice cubes. Whatever happened to the word “compassion”?

    • Rancher

      Mono,

      News flash for YOU!!!

COMPASSION!!!! is just for people who are trying to and doing what is right, correct and applying personal accountability daily and something bad happens to them they could not have prevented or dealt with.

PITY… is for the fools who bring it on themselves either by their own actions or lack of actions and live styles and lack of personal accountability then bad things happen to them which are the result of any and all such dumb choices in life.

Please do not confuse the two again.
Just trace back a persons life and see all the daily choices they made and the feathers they flocked with and you will then see why they are in the jam they are in today. Most folks bring it on themselves over years of bad…choices. No compassion from me then… Just pity, so I move on.

      • mondobeyondo

True – but even the fools among us deserve compassion. Some of them just made bad mistakes in life that they now regret. Others really don’t know any better. Seems rather logical – “you reap what you sow”. Apparently, it takes a long time for some people to learn that.

mondobeyondo, I am genuinely concerned that “compassion” has been reduced to a word in the dictionary. Among real Christians, it should be a way of life–at home, in our communities, and around the world.
By the way, I really appreciate your posts. I don’t usually comment, but I almost always read them and give thanks for you.

Desparation is a very scary thing. It will drive sane, law abiding people to commit crimes.

This is one of the major concerns I’ve reviewed on my site as I feel that war with Iran will make things a LOT worse.

  • VyseLegendaire

Great writing in this article. America is too busy watching Celebrity Apprentice and choking down chalupas at Taco Bell to care about the poor and destitute. Its almost like America is being punished as a nation as we collapse further into depravity, almost like we will become the zombie apocalypse we’re fantasized about in movies for decades. Maybe its our deepest national secret that everybody has known all along – we’re already a nation of zombies, our polite human appearances that were a fraud!

  • mondobeyondo

As Frank Sinatra would say if he were still here today…

“The worst is yet to come, and boy, won’t it be bad…”

Our decadent society is about to meet its end, just like every decadent society that has come before it. Too many people who are self-centered – “I did it myyyyyy… wayyyyy!!” Too many people after the pursuit of fame and fortune, regardless of the cost to others.

Sorry, you Snow White and Cinderella fans, but there’s no happy ending to this story.

    • DownWithLibs

There is a happy ending, you just have to not deny Christ. Although there will be a fair amount of fire to walk through first…not looking forward to that.

A while ago you mentioned that you were looking for work. I have been wondering how that has been going? (If you would care to share)

      • mondobeyondo

Still no luck on the job front. 31 months and counting…

        • mondobeyondo

And yes, I’ve read the stats… the longer you’re unemployed, the less likely you’ll ever get another job, etc.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about that.

Any warm body that walks into any taxi companies office with a driver’s license will get hired.

I guarantee you will love the part of the job that is incredibly fun which = 75%. 25% is pure hell though, and there is a long list of cities I would never drive a taxi in so as to remain alive – and that’s “tax free”.

When animals kill there is usually a reason, defending territory, defending their young etc. humans are the only animals that kill for fun or no reason.

Wrong. Try a cat with a mouse…or wolves with deer and elk. Kill and walk away. Bite and release and watch some more. You do not know the wild.

    • Gee Ling

Well, I’ve seen my young cat toy with and kill mice for what appears to be pleasure and entertainment. This behaviour is a distortion of an instinctual drive to kill for food and survival. Perhaps it is the same with humans.

      • Martin

        @Gee Ling

Well, I’ve seen my young cat toy with and kill mice for what appears to be pleasure and entertainment. This behaviour is a distortion of an instinctual drive to kill for food and survival. Perhaps it is the same with humans.

The fact that cats and other animals kill prey for reasons other than to satisfy their hunger is NOT a distortion of nature. It is their natural instinct to kill prey, fortunately they are very good at it and it is also their nature to take a nap, to conserver energy, when it is not a good time to hunt and kill. Nothing cute about it, cats are very efficient hunters.

    • mondobeyondo

Animals kill other animals because they are hungry, or to protect their territory. Well, some humans do as well (i.e. gang members), so…

I dunno, maybe we humans take violence to a different level.

My wife and I saw this years ago and had a HD gate made at our driveway way done the hill. The cops take hours to get here if ever and you think we are being weird? The gate keeps them out and in truth saves their lives.

This country has less safe people to get near daily as you point out and you want us to mingle yet more???? Fat chance….

I treat people as I would like to be treated. Problem is the life forms I often see do not resemble the people I once was raised around.

Town is becoming a freak show more every year and the countryside is about all that reminds me of life as it use to be. We plan our trips to town anymore. We are legally well armed and we are friendly. Then I return to my ranch and some times feel the need to rinse with bleach.

I did not cause this and I am not taking the responsibility for it either. God gave mankind a free will and I use mine to be nice and friendly but I am no bodies chump or door mat either.

It is becoming a less safe society all the day long and we simply recluse and keep a weathered eye out. You point out a bunch or weird happenings Michael but you failed 100% provide any concrete steps which will stop this. Most everything I here just enables it. I am also not handing over any more coin to some person or group who says they will fix it. More money has been spent on the fix than it ever would have taken if done right. Money is taxed and given and it just grows worse.

You know it and I know it.

    • Michael

      Great comment Rancher.

And I didn’t say that anything is going to stop it. Sadly, we are heading into the toilet as a society a little bit more every day.

      Michael

I know you did not post any answers and I feel it is because the answer only lies within them for themselves and ourselves for us. I can not make someone change or pay their way to do it.

To those I pity I often just say…go away and die somewhere…but just not on my land.

      • Gee Ling

Excellent article and I like Rancher’s comment, too. His situation and response are very similar to my own. I find myself mingling with very few people and my trips to town are quick and infrequent. I rarely make the 25 mile trip to the city anymore.

I’ve just renewed my concealed carry permit and put up a driveway gate. I’ve got a guard dog now and am upgrading locks and adding a security system.

I feel I have to pack a pistol even when I’m working in the back field. A few years ago, some crackhead whacked a guy my age and just about killed him. The victim had a near death experience. I don’t really want one, myself…

    • WM

Rancher, You may not like this, but returning to the ways and precepts of the Living God as revealed in ther Bible is the ONLY way to turn our nation back. Repentance is necessary. Since we turned our backs on God as a nation and are removing him from a place in society that he was before, people now have no moral foundation, and neither does their children. Children are no longer being raised and taught in the ways of the Lord and we are only reaping what we have sowed. You know the commandments….”You shall not steal, You shall not murder, You shall honor your parents, You shall not commit adultery, etc, etc.

Society would be blessed if we were to abide by these commands.

      • Rancher

You may not like this either. The Bible Preaches Personal Accountability from front to rear.

I am responsible for…me. You for you. Don’t repent to me but to God.

I have not turned my back on God. No way. Just mostly the vermin lurking outside my gates.

My Ranch is like Noah’s Arc. It is my Castle and not yours.

I like Gee Ling as well. I got the big dogs, I carry outside the shower.

I am happy not to meddle in other people’s affairs and insist they steer clear from mine.

We will get along fine if you stay outside my perimeter fence lines which clearly posted said advise several ways.

Oh please. I knew that the zombies would come running to relate immoral behavior to the lack of religion (delusion).

Every study says otherwise. The percentage of Atheists in prison are lower per capita then the general population.

“Godless” people are no more immoral or criminal than the deluded Santa Claus for adults crowd.

Please, give it a rest. A basic Google search will show that religion does NOT make a person nicer or ‘more moral’ – it does the opposite.

    • r.bitting

Tapper P…..” The deluded Santa Clause for adults crowd ” Please state what YOU believe and the evidence for what you base this belief on. Sitting back and taking shots at other beliefs will not suffice, please present your evidence to the contrary, and by evidence, i’m referring to the evidence you have that something came from nothing ( because in claiming that there is no creator you have in effect said that the universe is an effect without a cause ). BTW, about 90% of the world’s population believes in a creator, only about 10% are athiests… But don’t concern yourself with that fact, just answer the question… ( which we all know you can’t, because if you could, you would have been all too happy to shut us up a long time ago ).

The rule of law has collapsed in America. From the Patriot Act, to the extension of the Patriot Act, to NDAA to SOPA to PIPA to ACTA, to the destruction of the US Constitution, America is dying precisely because too many Americans believe falsely in their “exceptionalism”, and they have no fear of these unconstitutional acts by government because they have “nothing to hide”. Americans know very little of the history of this country, and know essentially NOTHING of real world history. 911 is a total LIE, as well as the recent “execution” of bin Laden. The Cheka has formed in America, and you will come to sorely regret it. Voting has become a joke with massive voter FRAUD at every level. The members of the US Congress do not represent YOU, they represent big banks and big corporations and their getting reelected. The Criminal Trash who behind the illegal and immoral war in Iraq and the torture and murder of prisoners roam free. It will not be so funny when the new American Cheka rides up to your house in their Black Marias in the middle of the night. If you do not know the names of Uritsky or Beria, you do not have a clue about the truth or your future. The New World Order monsters have a firm grip on your throat, and YOU do not even recognize it.

    • knightowl77

Oh puleeeeeease…Name one country or region on earth that hasn’t been invaded and conquered….

The Apache used to raid and kill the Sioux. The Sioux used to raid and kill other tribes.
Vikings killed the Anglo Saxons, who had already displaced and killed the Celts.

Black tribes in Africa captured blacks from other tribes and sold them to the Slave traders. There are black slave traders today in Africa and in the Middle East…

Mongols killed and conquered half the population of EurAsia….The Turks committed genocide in Armenia….

It would take several blogs and more time than I have to list even half of who killed who.

It is history…Get over it and live TODAY.

      • Paul

That’s right, so America is not BECOMING heartless. It always was.

RE: #12- Our Metropolitan Library already allows access to porn. When I complained, the library staff informed me that the users would be provided with a screen cover which would prevent people using computers next to them from viewing the objectionable material. The problem is when you are walking behind the person using the computer you have a clear view of the porn. The computers are in an open area, located near the book shelves.

    • Michael

      A:

That is very disturbing. Many, many children will send up seeing that stuff.

The children are already watching porn at the library and since we are talking about morals and porn. Ask some of these white married women why do they like their husbands being cuckholded? Many christain husbands are cuckhold and they admit that they like it. You want to talk about morals, lets talk about the problems in the christian bedroom.

      • knightowl77

One day my officers were in the library filming the homeless for a report we were presenting to the City Council…they saw 1 guy watching porn on library provided computer with children seated on either side of him. My officers filmed about 30 seconds of that, so we could advise the council about this and document that children were present…

The library protested that we had no “right” to film in a public library and that the guy watching the porn had a “1st Amendment right” to watch porn on the taxpayers dime….

        Sad

Please do not confuse the two again.
Just trace back a persons life and see all the daily choices they made and the feathers they flocked with and you will then see why they are in the jam they are in today. Most folks bring it on themselves over years of bad…choices. No compassion from me then… Just pity, so I move on.

#20 – The GARYS of the US are more and more feral with their COMPLETE lack of economic education but absolute rabid belief the solution to our woes is to greedily take everything from other citizens even though study after study shows that that wouldn’t even get us through half a year’s worth of spending and would absolutely decomate the economy permanently. It’s the greedy selfish mentality of immediate needs satisfaction so they can keep their iPhone running because after all, that’s a necessity. No, the greed of the left and their desire to have state sponsored theft of other people’s property is what led to the worst tyrannical states in history with the rampant starvation death, imprisonment of innocents, economic devastation etc. that the GARYS of the world so desperately desire.

The easy thing to do— Stockpile food and ammo in your bunker. But that leaves you and your family alone to defend against a large horde 24/7.

The hard thing to do—- develop a network of close friends, family, neighbors all co-operating as a team. Develop a militia to protect an entire region and it’s resources. This won’t be done via Facebook or texting. This will be done via personal meetings. Getting to really know who you can trust. Finding out each member’s skills. Dividing up the work of guarding, hunting, scavanging, farming, cooking, ect..

    • http://www.youtube.com/thepreparedpastor Prepared Pastor

The Rawlesian idea of a group of like minded people banding together before an event is IMHO very unlikely. I attempted to form a group to buy property and prepare together for years with no success. Those who were willing were broke and those who had money preferred to do their own thing.

I have since joined a mutual aid group that meets for training and discussion, but ultimately have different plans. Several families have moved in and out of the area and thus in and out of the group so to protect OPSEC, none knows the others exact bug out plan.

I settled for purchasing retreat property on a dead-end mountain road with a cluster of about a dozen houses. I am building relationships with people there whose families have gardened, heated with wood/coal, and hunted for generations. I believe this is my best chance for a cohesive group.

    • Benjik

I agree with your perspective, however, how large of a group can be amassed without attracting attention from the feds? Any militia-style group consisting of more than a few members is almost guaranteed to be on a federal “watchlist”, regardless of purpose or intention.

I am a working cowboy. I was raised a christian. Its very difficult being a good christian, so here I am, a bad christian.

I served in the U.S. Military and I use some skills that I learned while I was in the service. I pick up work as an investigator when the horse business is slow. Missing kids is all that I will do now.
When pulling a child from prostitution sometimes legality and morality clash. The problem is that the very people who are supposed to protect these children are bad and make money exploiting their misery. Because I would not know who is bad and who is good, the rescue plan would be made with the assumption that you will be behind enemy lines. Morality always is formost.

What happens is morality I am afraid makes me a bad christian. But it makes for one more safe child.

There is just so much confusion caused by rhetoric with half truths and a lack of reporting all of the truth. People just tend to form sides. No one knows who has their back and who does not. No one feels safe anymore.

These tactics are used in psychological warfare.
It really kind of makes one wonder.

Morality, being part of the equasion has been defined in stages at the psychological-psychiatric level some 30 years ago at Harvard. This may interest you,as to how you and yours may see life. What is interesting is that the level you are in you can see one level higher and one level lower but to move out of the level is unlikely.

This is a nation of laws which is considered level 4. Law abideing people and those that support the system. Level 3 will cheat on their taxes and try to get by with small dishonesty.

Level 1 is the bottom of the pile and includes such criminals as Ted Bundy, psychpathes and repeat violent offenders.

Level 2 is not much better, perhaps we might include dishonest bankers and politicians who lie and deceive us.

Gandi and Lincoln, as an example were comsidered level 6. Far sighted plans for the common good, even though they may have been embroiled in war and the sacrifice of thousands.

Level 5, could be considered as those with non intrusive morality that ebcompases social reformers like Mother Teresa.

Most people fall into level 3 and can regress into level 2 or even conform to level 4.

This presupposes that under great duress, and stressors of these times people are expected to regress, hence more “coldness” and crime.

Further interest is that we are born with this level and though we may try to elvate ourselves it is difficult. Furthermore let us pose you are a level 4, but your boss is a Level 6, we could not comprehend his motivations, then again he could be a Level 1 and still be unfathomable.

There has been pilot programs years back with teens on moral development delimas that challange their thinking to some success. I use it with my teen part time workers. I used to use it with our children and I think with the young mind you can elevate progress.

What a true post. Even in the country town where we currently live, if you ask anyone for a even a small favor, they quickly stop speaking to you and won’t take your calls. Our families have turned their backs on us and have offered us minimal help. One clergy member actually said to me last year, “So when you run out of formula, what will you feed your baby?”

I am more convinced than ever, that Americans are very happy to throw their fellow American under the bus. The numerous lawsuits, arrests, police, crimes again shows, incarceration. You dont have to go to school or university to get ahead, as long as you can arrange for the arrest of your neighbor. The more people arrested and booked with criminal records, the better chance you have of locking in a that nice paying job, with no talent. Winning by elimination of competition. The employers discrimination by arrest record will become a problem when 45 million americans already have arrest record, and a growing trend.

Tony Lamb. You have watched too many disney shows. A weasel that weighs a pound will get in a chicken coop and kill 20 6 lb hens in one night. Eight wolves killed 38 sheep in Wyoming in one night. I have had a coyote kill 2 8lb lambs and eat the heart and lungs from one, that might total 8 oz. I do not try to put human emotions to animals but those killings are not about hunger or defense. You need to watch a cat torture a mouse before you put noble attribute to animals.

    • Gary2

every mouse/rodent one of my cats kills outside is one less that I will have to deal with inside.

Every baby rabbit my cats kill is one less that will chew up my prize shrubs.

    • http://pezcandy.blogspot.com Karl

So make your chicken coop weasel-proof and house your lambs where wolves and coyotes can’t reach them.

      Duh.

Of course, you can feel “manly” for killing animals with a gun. Works best if you’re a spindly, terrified excuse for a human male, and are trying to prove how tough you are by murdering animals that aren’t trying to hurt you.

Killing animals for pleasure, while claiming it’s to “protect your stock” — that’s about as juvenile and insensitive as the examples Michael listed in the main essay.

Maybe you should stop moving to places where wolves, weasels and coyotes live, or maybe you should stop trying to “harvest” your “livestock” and instead figure out how to live in harmony with other living creatures?

Or maybe you’re just an arrogant little weasel of a man yourself?

We have some strikes sometimes because the people are unemployed (10% unemployed). We have, off course stealers, and gangsters, like everywhere, I suppose.
But the difference with American people is may be due to the fact that European people has not the right to possess a weapon, as guns.

I like looking at this blog but I don’t comment often. In my past I was well taught about the the bible and I don’t preach because most people just don’t want to hear it. I don’t go to the churches because it seems they haven’t read or don’t understand the bible. I don’t understand everything but when I see comments that are bible verses I skip them and think of Matthew 6:1&2. I had to look them up but I knew they were there! Also it seems that people have been predicting some sort of doom for some time now and nothing real big, I mean REALLY big, ever happens! I’m not one of the sheepele, no TV but I’ll watch some movies sometimes but no sports.I work one and a half jobs all with people and some of the stuff I see is amazing.Sometimes I wonder what has happened to the gene pool, but after about 6000 years or so it must be getting a little thin? The way some people act maybe THEY came from monkeys:) The bible does state rather plainly that satan is running the world and that is why its such a mess. 5000 years ago the people of Eqypt believed Horus and Set ran the world. They were the Son/Sun god and ruler of the ‘underworld’ of their time. Based on the story in the sky. Absolutely no different story than the Jesus/Satan story.

Yes, people have fallen in intelligence and morality. But what is sad is that the same exact delusion that stunts our growth now did it to humanity that long ago. Nothing has changed.

An alien observing Earth and its people would see some technological advances to be sure, but surely they would be amazed that after 5000 years the exact same superstitions are in place.

The only explanation for that is intentional deception. Perhaps as we passed from Taurus the Bull (why the cow is worshipped still today); to Aries (the lamb stories); to Pisces (the fisher of men) and eventually into the Aquarius (go into the house where a man shall be waiting bearing a pitcher of water …) there will be some allowed enlightenment. Probably not.

      • r.bitting

The only bull being passed here is’nt from the cosmos, it’s from you. I say it here all the time and I will say it again, please explain the origin of the universe without a creator ( an effect without a cause ). Until you can do that, your atheistic worldview has no credibility, because it takes far, far, far more faith, and completely blind faith at that, to believe the universe came from nothing, than that of a creator God.

        • PB

Thank you for that useful pronouncement on the credibility of others, now you may go back to your spooks and hobgoblins.

      • MB92083

Let me get this straight. Jesus/satan is a story, yet you believe in astrology (tarus, aries, pices, aquarius).
You are certainly a piece of work. You definetely need to know the true lamb of God, the ultimate fisher of men. May you seek, for if you do you WILL find.

        • M. Hapney

No MBdeluded what is being said is that the whole Jesus story is based on the story of the Zodiac. Literally the one year journey of Jesus the SON of God is the travel thru the circular Zodiac and each of the 12 Houses.

Very simple once the delusion is peeled away.
Starts with John the Baptist/Aquarius. Many references in the bible to the ZODIAC.

The ZODIAC is the base story that is why there were 15 Jesus clones before him – same EXACT story.

Not hard – Son-Sun. He is the everlasting light. Light. Light. Light. Satan is dark. dark. dark.

          Kindergarten stuff.

Delusion – clinging to a belief despite factual evidence to the contrary.

The christian religion is a parody on the worship of the Sun, in which they put a man whom they call Christ, in the place of the Sun, and pay him the same adoration which was originally paid to the Sun. – Thomas Payne

If your belief in your Santa gives you piece of mind and you cannot let go, fine, but please don’t spread the delusion.

          • mondobeyondo

Are you equating Jesus with astrology?!?!!

Duh….6,000 years. Try several million for evolution. Problems on this planet are caused by man and man alone. No mumbling to some imaginary deity will change anything. Religion is a easy excuse not to do anything and demonize those that do not ‘believe’ in fiction, fairy tales, etc.

The rising tide of selfishness and indifference in America should come as no surprise to anyone.

    • sharonsj

What Obama said was that we were no longer just a Christian nation, but a nation of many other faiths as well. Your right-wing quote is meant to twist his words. And if you ever bothered to read history, you’d find out that the Founding Fathers were deists and didn’t consider themselves Christians.

In fact, people like you who believe whatever they hear on Fox News or on Rush are one of the reasons there is no civility. I have heard Rush say that charity is a failed experiment throughout history. But I bet you don’t know that even cavemen took care of the elderly and sick.

      • gary2

Conservatives think it is a badge of honor for Michael to be quoted on Rush etc. I think it shows how far Michael has fallen.

      • Geoff

Beg to differ, Do your research in depth. YOU are misinformed

      • justadad

        Wrong.
Have you bothered to read history?
Our Founding Fathers were a mixture of mostly Christians and a few deists.
Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence only 3 were known deists and 14 were of undetermined faith. So even by simple math, of the known faiths, the majority of the signers were Christian.
Of the signers of the U.S. Constitution again only 3 are comfirmed historically as deists.
Of the signers of the Articles of Confederation there are NO HISTORICALLY VERIFIABLE DEISTS.
A secular study of our founding fathers shows the source most quoted from was the Christian Bible.
It is you who is trying to re-write our history to remove all mention of Christ.
        Please stop.

This nation was colonized earlier by Christian pilgrims who sought religious freedom. They are the true founding fathers without whom this grand experiment would not have been attempted.

As to the twisting of Obama’s words. Your version of his words did not contradict the statement that Obama said “Whatever we were, we are no longer a Christian nation, at least, not just.”
Put a ‘just’ in there and it still means the same thing.
Whether he said “We are no longer a Christian nation ” or “We are no longer just a Christian nation” it means the same thing. That is the point GMA215 was making.

I surrendered my house back in 2007 and filed for chapter 7 bankrupcy in 2008. I still get $140 invoices from the city on a property I have not owned or occupied in over 5 years. I go to court every year and produce my Bankrupcy papers. The tickets get dismissed and we start the cycle over every 6-12 months. It puts the salt of shame in very old wounds that just want to heal. I drive by and see what was my home of 8 years become a someplace for folks to vandalize and steal(they took the A/C) what was once my castle. I look at it and do feel that deep sense of shame. I feel ashamed for my old neighbors that have to deal with it. They didn’t deserve this. I understand the city doesn’t want the neighborhood to become a slum. I understand way too much because I was raised to be a decent hard working person. That was where my kids lived. I listen to that old Smithereens song “House that we use to live in” and it strikes deep because it was written about the same subject. I can’t go back and change what happened. I feel down and then I get pissed off. You see times have gotten somewhat better but I had to crawl to get where I am today. I didn’t forget what happened I do what I can to help other families right on the edge. I cant shut my eyes to that pain. My girlfriend doesn’t understand why I put myself out there trying to help others at the expense of my well being. See if you been that low you never forget, and if you make through to the other side you are obligated to help others on the edge.

  • Old Man

I interviewed Dimitri, who survived the collapsed of the USSR 20 years ago.

Old Man: When everything fell apart during the last days of the Soviet Union, things must be very scary. How did people survive?

Dimitri: Yes, things were scary but only to the ruling class in government. The rest of the population were short of food and lost jobs, but they were not scared. They stuck together, took care of each other, and pulled through. See, the Russian people is an old people full of history and terrible hardship. They dare not give up love.

Old Man: What do you think will happen to America?

Dimitri: America is still a very rich place with money and economy. But it is already dirt poor with culture, care and love. One big difference is, America has 200 million firearms belonging to the people. They have this culture where they start shooting the moment they feel like it. They are so common now, even the press ignore them. The country is numb to violence.

Old Man: So what are you saying?

Dimitri: I am saying I will measure America readiness to fix things by looking at how many wild and crazy shooting within the population.

Old Man: Like Syria, or Libya?

Dmintri: No. There, the government shoot people. Only in America you have people who love to shoot people.

    • mondobeyondo

Very frightening, concerning what lies in store for us.

Yes conservatives have made America a cold selfish place. Sickening.

    • Alex

I disagree. Conservatives care for their fellow man much more so than liberals. Evidence: Just examine who contributes to charities and who doesn’t. I believe it is a 9 to 1 ratio at least. It seems that liberals are always concerned with equalizing outcomes and wealth redistribution rather than creating an environment that encourages self-initiative, productive effort and self-responsibility. They believe that the idea that a successful person should fork over what they have earned to another less successful by the threat of force by government. Liberals like to take credit for doing something for the so-called downtrodden by employing government thugs as their enforcers. Amazing! It’s all about liberty and freedom people. Once you take away enough from the successful to deter him from producing, then he will simply not create anymore wealth to be plundered. I saw this trend since I was young, and yes, I’ve made several million over my lifetime, but now I’ve given up and say no more. I’m not going to bust my butt everyday to placate employees, bureaucrats and this lousy government anymore. Why should I work hard to earn 4 dollars and lose 2 of those dollars to government instead of my family? It makes no sense to work hard in such a country, when liberty is merely a slogan.

      • Alex

I almost forgot, with the estate tax at 45%, a man earns 4 dollars. He loses half by taxes in one form or another, leaving him 2 dollars. Then when he passes on, the government steals another dollar to fund its crap. Thus, a hard-working American man loses 3 out of every 4 dollars to a rapacious government that doesn’t care about this man’s family or those who depend upon them. A loss of 75% of one’s earnings to government sounds much worse than slavery to me! This nation is finished! Once I came to that conclusion I felt much better.
