Outcasts: Tonight Tens Of Thousands Of Formerly Middle Class Americans Will Be Sleeping In Their Cars, In Tent Cities Or On The Streets

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Economic despair is beginning to spread rapidly in America.  As you read this, there are millions of American families that are just barely hanging on by their fingernails.  For a growing number of Americans, it has become an all-out battle just to be able to afford to sleep under a roof and put a little bit of food on the table.  Sadly, there are more people than ever that are losing that battle.  Tonight, tens of thousands of formerly middle class Americans will be sleeping in their cars, even though that is illegal in many U.S. cities.  Tens of thousands of others will be sleeping in tent cities or on the streets.  Meanwhile, communities all over America are passing measures that are meant to push tent cities and homeless people out of their areas.  It turns out that once you lose your job and your home in this country you become something of an outcast.  Sadly, the number of “outcasts” is going to continue to grow as the U.S. economy continues to collapse.

Most Americans that end up living in their cars on in tent cities never thought that it would happen to them.

An article in Der Spiegel profiled one American couple that is absolutely shocked at what has happened to them….

Chanelle Sabedra is already on that road. She and her husband have been sleeping in their car for almost three weeks now. “We never saw this coming, never ever,” says Sabedra. She starts to cry. “I’m an adult, I can take care of myself one way or another, and same with my husband, but (my kids are) too little to go through these things.” She has three children; they are nine, five and three years old.

“We had a house further south, in San Bernardino,” says Sabedra. Her husband lost his job building prefab houses in July 2009. The utility company turned off the gas. “We were boiling water on the barbeque to bathe our kids,” she says. No longer able to pay the rent, the Sabedras were evicted from their house in August.

How would you feel if you had a 3 year old kid and a 5 year old kid and you were sleeping in a car?

Sadly, if child protective services finds out about that family those kids will probably be stolen away and never returned.

America is becoming a very cruel place.

Unfortunately, what has happened to that family is not an isolated incident.  As rampant unemployment has spread across America, the number of people that have lost their homes has soared.

Today, it is estimated that approximately a third of the homeless population in Seattle live in their cars.

It is even happening to my readers.  A reader named JD left the following comment on one of my articles a while back….

I was laid off from my construction job almost 2 yrs ago was on unenjoyment for over a yr they cut me off last september so i lost my apartment. Since then ive been couch surfing and hotel hopping. Now i occaisonally sleep in my car. I was lucky enough to have a friend with a lawn care business so i can at least put ever increasing gas in my car\house. I hate to say it but i think we will see hoovervilles in the major cities soon. When the welfare & food stamps & all the other govt. programs end the anarchy begins.

Desperation is rising all over America.  Most people had hoped to see an economic recovery by now but it just hasn’t happened.

The phenomenon of Americans living in their cars has become so prominent that even Time Magazine has done a story about it….

For people who cannot afford rent, a car is the last rung of dignity and sanity above the despair of the streets. A home on wheels is a classic American affair, from the wagon train to the RV. Now, for some formerly upwardly mobile Americans, the economic storm has turned the backseat or the rear of the van into the bedroom. “We found six people sleeping in their cars on an overnight police ride-along in December,” says John Edmund, chief of staff to Long Beach councilman Dee Andrews. “One was a widow living in a four-door sedan. She and her husband had been Air Force veterans. She did not know about the agencies that could help her. I had tears in my eyes afterwards.”

Unfortunately, it turns out that sleeping in cars has been made illegal in many areas of the United States.

In many cities, police are putting boots on the cars and when the homeless owners can’t pay the fines the vehicles are being taken away from them.

Venice, California is one place where people have been arrested for living in vehicles.  Venice had been a popular spot for people living in their RVs to go, but police started arresting people that were living in RVs and they began towing away their vehicles. The following is an excerpt from an article that appeared on the Daily Kos website….

They took Eric while he was changing his battery in his car. Claimed he lived in his car. A few days later they went to 3th Street and took his RV because he was in jail and no one moved it for 72 hours. Saturday they did a sweep of 7th and took Bear and his RV. They also took Elizabeth’s RV but do not know if they took Elizabeth but can not find her. The police went to 6th and took the white RV that always parks by Broadway on 6th. Everyday they take 1 to 4 RVs. Very soon there will be no one left.

Once you are down on your luck in America you will quickly find that authorities will try to take everything else you still have away from you.

The United States can be a very brutal place to be if you are poor.

All over America, communities are making tent cities illegal or they are simply just chasing them away.

It turns out that many Americans really don’t like large numbers of homeless people camping out in their neighborhoods.

But many of those now living in tent cities used to be just like you and me.

What is being done to tent cities in some areas of the country is absolutely disgusting.

For example, who could ever forget this video of police in St. Petersburg, Florida using box cutters to slash up the tents of the homeless….

What goes through your mind when you watch something like that?

If you don’t feel at least a little bit of compassion for those people then something is wrong.

You never know – you might be the next one forced to take refuge in a tent city.

In many U.S. cities, it is even illegal to sleep on the street.  If you are homeless I am not sure what you are supposed to do.  In some areas of the U.S. you can’t sleep in your car, you can’t sleep in a tent city and you can’t sleep on the street.

So what should we do with all of the Americans that are being forced out of their homes by this economy?

Should we just round them all up and put them into fenced camps?

Don’t laugh – we are getting closer to that kind of thing every day.

We live in very frightening times.

Poverty is absolutely exploding in America.  The number of Americans that are going to food pantries and soup kitchens has increased by 46% since 2006.  There are 44 million Americans on food stamps.  If it was not for measures like these, the streets of America would be filled with destitute people.

Things are tough out there and they are about to get tougher.

At the beginning of next year, the extended unemployment benefits that have been helping the unemployed during this economic downturn will expire.  Up to now, many unemployed Americans have been able to enjoy up to 99 weeks of unemployment benefits.  Now that is coming to an end.

According to the New York Times, this is going to drain 37 billion dollars out of the wallets of unemployed Americans that are just barely hanging on.

What in the world is that going to do to the economy?

This all comes at a time when it looks like unemployment is going to start rising once again.

Cisco has just announced that they are going to be laying off 10,000 workers.  Other large firms are expected to announce more layoffs shortly.  The number of good jobs continues to shrink.

There are other signs that the economy is slowing once again.  Pre-orders for Christmas toys are way down.  Vacancies at U.S. shopping malls are rising again.  Nearly every major poll shows that Americans are extremely pessimistic about the economy right now.

So why in the world is all of this happening?

Where in the world did all of our jobs go?

Well, it turns out that millions of our jobs have been shipped overseas where the labor is far, far cheaper and it is really starting to catch up with us.

On The American Dream website, I just finished an article entitled “How Globalism Has Destroyed Our Jobs, Businesses And National Wealth In 10 Easy Steps“.  It is a 2500 word essay that explains how globalization has absolutely gutted our economy.  The article will hopefully help you understand why so many good jobs have left the United States and why they aren’t coming back.

Many of our great cities that used to be the envy of the entire globe are now a bad joke to the rest of the world.

The following is what one reporter from the UK found when he visited one of the worst areas of Detroit….

Occasionally a half-ruined or half-burned house still stands to remind you that this used to be a cityscape. Pathetic, besieged knots of surviving homes remind you of what was once here. Sometimes amazing efforts have been made to keep them smart. More often, they haven’t.

Many bear menacing notices warning visitors to stay away. On the door of one, easy to imagine as a neat home with an iron-pillared porch where the head of the family must once have sat on summer evenings, are the words ‘Enter at ya own risk’ accompanied by a crude drawing of an angry face.

I ventured into a nearby ruin, smashed, charred and half-filled with garbage. You have no idea who or what might be lurking in these houses.

But don’t laugh at Detroit.  What is happening in Detroit is coming to your area soon enough.

America is in an advanced state of decay.  The number of “outcasts” is going to multiply as more Americans lose their jobs and their homes.  Millions more Americans will be sleeping in their cars, in tent cities or on the streets before this is all over.

The U.S. economy is never going to get back to “normal”.  What we are living through now is the “new normal” and it is rip-roaring prosperity compared to what is coming.

Please show compassion to the people around you that are hurting right now.

You never know, as the economy continues to unravel it may be you that needs some compassion soon.

  • VyseLegendaire

“The U.S. economy is never going to get back to “normal”. What we are living through now is the “new normal” and it is rip-roaring prosperity compared to what is coming.”

I really wonder if Americans will take to the streets en masse. Its so hard to believe our drug-addled, obese population of American Idol wannabes would actually protest something.

    • mondobeyondo

I doubt it. The sheeple are too docile.

Most Americans (unlike their Greek and British cousins) won’t march on Washington until our economic situation becomes unbearable. Or until American Idol is canceled by FOX, whichever comes first.

    • Mad Max

They can protest or live on the streets. Protesting won’t gain much if you don’t have a plan.

I was just coming to post about the Cisco 10K layoffs. But Michael already has it covered.

Where are all of the “America-doesn’t-need-manufacturing-jobs-its-an-information-economy” people now?

I am definitely putting my prepping into high gear tomorrow.

    • moses737

Right OTown Guy. Everytime you look around; the new world order antichrist beast is inflicting damage on Americans. Satan and his people love seeing people suffering; while they are robbing our government blind. And while they are paying off our Congresspeople. But their days are coming to an end very soon. As they will be tormented in the worst agonies imaginable.

  • Chris Finstad

I agree with you that this is going to continue to happen. However, saying that its that 99ers are going to lose there bennies pretty soon is a little pathetic. John Stossel just did a report on people who lose there unemployment bennies and guess what? They manage to get jobs afterwards! I really enjoy your blog but you need to understand that most of the people on unemployment are lazy and worthless. My wife is an child protection worker in MN and she says 9 out of 10 people on welfare shouldn’t be.
As far as the tent cities go you need to understand that it isn’t said that people are losing their tent cities. It’s a good thing. They turn into crime ridden slums and are a blight on cities. I remember watching a program on the Venice tent and car cities awhile ago. The crime in them was rampant and drug use was off the charts. The people were doing drugs in from of families with young children. Nobody needs to see that. I do feel bad for these people but there are plenty of homeless shelters around for people to use in major cities. In fact a vast majority go unused in NYC. I know not all people are bums that are on welfare and I do feel bad for them, but tent and car cities are not the answer.

    • Rhinehart Fox

Chris, I’ve felt the same way up until recently. I think that the ‘new normal’ is going to be more like the 1930’s with people who would gladly work, but with nowhere to turn. Case in point, my son (mechanical engineer) got laid off last week, local headlines yesterday announced 61 let go from our biggest medical facility, and the business that I work for will probably go under before the end of the year. I told my wife last night to be prepared for me to loose my job for the second time in 35 years. I will most likely have to work out of state as a temp to support my family as the technical jobs around here are becoming ever scarcer. The perpetual welfarites have no incentive to seek work until they go hungry for a while. That time may not be far off.

      • Mad Max

What goes around comes around. Sounds like you need a little education and welfare. This is what’s wrong with this country. Blame everyone else for your own failure and ignorance. Sad!

        OsiXs (Democracy 2.0)

    • You are one sad individual. Let us always bring up the people on welfare without knowing the whole story and your wife should not be spreading her info about welfare people. Pathetic is your compassion and understanding of your fellow man. Glad I don’t know you or live near you.

    • sean

you need to be thrown out on your ass and spend a winter homeless with nothing to do to make money but ************. then maybe you would have a little mor understanding and compassion! As far as the drug use is concerned…..******** too!!! You are obviously a ********** sheep/slave who cannot even understand the criminal hypocrisy involved in the drug laws!! You dont even realize that drugs are NOTHING to be concerned about, UNLESS you are goingto address ALL drugs such as cigarettes, booze, pharmaceuticals and ALL the rest!! And in the 1st place any ADULT should NOT have someone telling him or her what they can or cannot ingest!!!! same as the fact that people should be able to stay wherever they NEED to stay, because HELLO!! SHELTERS are seriously unsafe you absolute MORON!!

      • Mad Max

I’m with you. I thought this was a free country?

    • Bridgett

Chris Finstad: Honestly, your reply is so arrogant, so ignorant that I don’t know whether we should laugh at your ignorant arrogance or cry. I don’t care what job your wife does she is full of it and so are you. Do you honestly think homeless shelters are going empty? How do some people get to be so utterly stupid? Do the world a favor Chris and learn your facts before you open your mouth and insert your stupid ignorant arrogant foot again.

    • Godozo

John Stossel? The guy who puts anything together for a buck? He’d state one thing and miss eighteen reasons why his point makes no sense. Anything for airtime.

I’d rather listen to Ann Coulter – at least she pays attention to logic on occasion.

  • 007

We need to help these folks. It was always our responsibility to help our neighbors, not the government’s. You can see how far liberal compassion goes when these people are just trying to exist, near their neighborhoods. They never cared about the poor. It has just been a ploy they have used to fool the masses so they could cling to power.

But from a Christian standpoint, it is no doubt our responsibility to do what we can to help these people get back on their feet.

    • moses737

Sorry 007 but these people will never truly get back on their feet. The International Bankers/Illuminati kingpins are collasping the American Empire; one thousand households at a time. And they actually want a revolution so they can then say, “It didn’t work the way that it use too; so now we have something else that will work. A One World Government where everybody will be taken care of.” And that One World Government will be Satans One World Luciferic Government and their New World Order.

  • Ben Dover

LOVE the video…To protect and serve…

They kept these people safe by destroying what little they had left and ransacking their tents. Perfect way to make more criminals.

    • liberranter

Ever notice how, even how during the worst economic downturns, in every nation on earth, the swine (military and civilian) are always fully employed and well-fed? I guess the Ruling Elite have to keep their bodyguards happy at all costs, especially when the economic messes they create turn society upside down, lest the attack dogs turn on their masters.

  • Steve

“…It turns out that once you lose your job and your home in this country you become something of an outcast…”. Not if you’re an illegal Mexican: then it’s all free and on the Gringo.

    • moses737

Very good Steve. The Illegals can always find work. They have been chopping up our streets in constrution and they get all the construction jobs and the highway construction jobs; and they do the plumbing in my community and the roofing and all kinds of things. And they are still probably getting food stamps and welfare and they can have 10 babies in 10 years per family. And 4 families can live in 1 house. I am beginning to wish thst I was a Mexican they are living so well.

But this is all a contrived plan. The NWO International Bankers/Illuminati kingpins hate Americans. Why? Because we have the Constitution and we should not want to be free. But be their slaves and serfs.

      • Ouida Gabriel

Perhaps you should clarify a little bit. Not all Mexicans are illegal and not illegals are Mexican. I happen to know a few “Mexicans” who have served our country over the course of several decades. My husband is one of them. Now shove your racist attitudes up you a$$ and ask forgiveness for slapping Veterans in the face you ignorant prick.

  • Teknikid

“You never know, as the economy continues to unravel it may be you that needs some compassion soon.”

I’ve told my niece and nephew that if things ever get that bad, they can live with me. My house is paid off, so it should not be a problem. I hope it doesn’t come to that, but it’s an option for them should they need it.

    • Luis

Teknkid, your house is “paid off”? No ones house is paid off! Just try not paying your property taxes for a while. Thoroughly annoy the wrong sort of people, and you might just get a search warrant for being a drug dealer. Oh, oh.. looks like they found a couple of kilos under your bed! Say bye bye to your “paid off” house. Now they can seize it and you get to enjoy the ultimate in free housing- prison!

BTW, my house is also “paid off”… but I’m just passing through here, because I’m looking for “new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness”. II Peter 3:13 Hope anyone reading this will join me on that rough little road that leads to eternal life! Here’s the prize:

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalm 37:11

    • moses737

Very good Teknikid – Thats what it is coming too. Most of those families that are out on the street should move in with other family members. It can work. Don’t be proud. Beg one of your family members to take you in. Thats what it is coming too; another great depression. But hopefully; you are serving Jesus. It makes it better that way.

  • A. Thought

This is just a devastating article that should bring tears to most. Please do not let your compassion wax cold for these folks. Most of us have a lot more than the families and folks in this article. Even if you have little yourself please go out of your way to give just a little bit to them – thru soup kitchens or a local church that has an aggressive local outreach program. These are good people, each one of them. And they are Americans. If you see a car in a Walmart parking lot that is packed with personal belongings, stick some cash on their wiper blade. I can’t believe this is happening before our eyes. A Thought.

  • Otown Right Guy

Here’s a quote from Alan Greenspan that may make many of you want to start a riot. Read more here. This man is not only criminally stupid, but evil as well:

but contrary to what many people believe, we do very poorly in opening up our borders to skilled immigrants. Our H1-B visa restrictions are a disgrace. Most high-income people in our country do not realize that their incomes are being subsidized by their protection from competition from highly skilled people who are prevented from immigrating to the United States. But we need such skills in order to staff our productive economy, so that the standard of living for Americans as a whole can grow.

    • liberranter

Of course Greenspan is both stupid and evil. That is, and always has been, a prerequisite for heading that criminal cartel known as the Federal Reserve.

    • GiveMeABreak

DoctorJay – Greenspan is evil but not criminally stupid. What you fail to realize and what this country has no real understanding of is that we are an aging population which is getting top heavy with boomers who no longer pay taxes, buy homes, give birth and raise children…percentage-wise this is actually a decreasing portion of the population. The echoboomers are a very, very, small percentage. There is no one to work the jobs that support an aging society or pay into the system for Medicare or Social Security or to buy your home when you want to downsize. Skilled labor is critical to swell the ranks of those capable of supporting the foundations of this economy. By perpetuating the nonsense that immigrants are taking jobs is a red herring. Skilled immigrants will buy homes, pay taxes, purchase food and accessories, and clean your bed pans when you are in the nursing home.

      • Otown Right Guy

As someone actually in the engineering and IT fields, I can tell you that it is a lie to say that we need immigrants to do these jobs. What globalists and companies like Microsoft want is cheap labor. That is why they and politicians from BOTH parties started the H1B visa program. To make Americans compete with low-paid Indians, Chinese, Pakis, etc. They come here on visas and have to work long hours at low pay with no OT. They either do it, or are threatened to be deported.

    • moses737

Alan Greenspan has gone to the International Bankers training compounds and schools. These devils have their own colleges that teach these damnable things. Like Yale and Harvard and the
Rogues Schools of England. And we shouldn’t allow these H1-B visas anymore anyway. It is a great big lie that Americans are not smart enough to do these technical and computer jobs. I went to college classes with these foreignors. And they excel because our NWO government and public school system don’t prepare us for these jobs until we go to college.

Whereas, the NWO globalist have the other nations children learning these things in the 6th to 9th grades; so that they will appear to be smarter and more intelligent than American kids. Compliments of the Internation Banker/Illuminati takedown of America in every phase of our lives. Our own tratorous politicians have betrayed us and allowed this to happen.

  • DoctorJay

Strange we don’t see any of this stuff on BloombergTV or CNN. They are supposed to report on the economy; not just how much profits the MN’s are raking in because the CEOs happened to be “so smart” in moving all their manufacturing facilities to Cheapland.

    • Buckytodd

Like war protests, those types of reports by the mainstream media are only done when there is a republican in the White House. So long as there is a liberal in the Oval Office, all we will hear is crickets.

  • DoctorJay

And by the way, I guess there must be media restrictions forbidding these companies from reporting the ugly side. Or perhaps the big guys have an “understanding” with the White House not to show the ugly side.

    • liberranter

The MSM are OWNED AND CONTROLLED by the very creatures responsible for the current socioeconomic implosion, so no, of course they’re not going to report the truth. OTOH, anyone stupid enough today to believe ANYTHING that the MSM reports deserves to be taken for a ride.

  • There are some thoughts on stealth camping at And my advice to those who are homeless with children is to keep moving all the time so the nazis don’t catch on, NEVER admit to any authority figure that you’re homeless, train the kids to lie and say they’re on a holiday, and if you can afford passports, get passports, and get out of the US while you can, before they do catch up with you. Of course you’ll have to figure out what to do for work, but you already have that problem. Try being a self employed salvage person, or real estate bird dog, or window washer, anything.

You might have to change the address on your drivers license to a mail drop (preferably someone’s house you can get mail at) and then get the passport to the mail drop so they match – dunno. This is not to be construed as legal advice. It is all my half baked opinion. (/disclaimer)

    • moses737

Thats not a good solution Penny Pincher. You are making permanent scavengers and derilicks out of people. They have to maintain some level of dignity.
You don’t want them to become permanent hobos, do you? Go to church and serve Jesus and learn how to live by faith.

  • great article Michael! Keep up the good work.

    • Michael

      Thank you Forte!

  • OldPhart

Obamavilles are springing up in the back alleys, side streets and vacant lots in many cities. The problem is similar to what was happening in Venice…a total lack of sanitation. Garbage piles up, human waste deposits are open to the air and insects, mini-warlords over groups.

These are dispicable times because every single element was created by our government over the last thirty years, and continues through today.

Eventually, these people are going to reach their limits of self control. They will be banding into tribes and they will be coming – cold, desperate and hungry – to a neighborhood very near you.

Here, in the California desert, many vacant houses are being taken over. Fixtures are being ripped out and sold as scrap. Trench latrines are being dug in backyards and water is being pilfered from neighboring pools and hoses. While most of these folks are simply trying to keep a roof over their heads (while they keep their heads down), many are also setting up meth labs and in-door marijuana grows.

I can see the eventual day when the total breakdown of the economy and our society will drive thousands from the cities. A lot of those will be looking for ‘opportunities’.

As sad as it is, if you’re not one of the most unfortunate, it’s time to prepare a defense for your goods, family and self. You are going to be viewed as wealthy, no matter how poor you feel, by someone with nothing left to lose.

Do not rely on police or government authorities. We all saw how that went in New Orleans. Be ready as an individual family unit.

Start thinking about where a retreat might be, what can be cached, what needs to stay instantly at hand. Gather some trade goods and some very good friends.

Keep nothing in a bank except for the minimum necessary for limited e-commerce in preparation. Depend on no institution.

The collapse is real, it is coming very quickly and our nation will no longer exist in recognizable form.

    • liberranter

I really think that “Obamaville” is inappropriate here, just as “Hooverville” was a misnomer for those wretched makeshift shantytowns that sprung up during the (First) Great Depression. To blame a powerless figurehead like a President of the United States for anything that is the result of policy is misguided, for it is those who are his hidden puppet masters who are responsible. The operative term here, both during the Great Depression of the 30’s and the Even Greater Depression today is Fedville. After all, it is the Federal Reserve, and the bankster criminal class that heads it, that were/are responsible for all of the economic chaos that has afflicted both Amerika and the rest of the world for the past century.

    • Godozo

This started as Bushvilles, buddy. This has been going on since Dubya’s time.

And trust me, I see it all over Gary. They’re being stripped faster than the city can tear down the buildings…and it’s all over.

Trust me, The US is already 3rd world. Houses all over are being torn up because many people have become too poor for their surroundings.

  • xyz

Give me a break. Many ppl are so as a result of the mistakes theyve made in their lives, why always politics or leaders are to blame? Dont waste ur compassion, Id say.

    • wanda4089

I would say with your attitude we should have some compassion for you as well.

    • Anthony

That’s a disgusting, vile thing to say.

“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

“Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

“Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:42-46).

“Whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” (1 John 3:17).

At this point you may be saying, “I’d like to be compassionate, to help the needy. How can I make a change?”

I can only tell you that God will answer this prayer: “Lord, I see all the human needs around me. And I know that the only Jesus my city may ever see is the one they’ll see through me and my church. God, you’re going to have to direct me. I’m ready with my wallet, my house, my time. Show me where to go, Lord!” Rest assured — God will bring those needs to your doorstep!

You may think, “But I have so many problems of my own. I can’t spend time helping others.” Let me ask you: Are you lonely? Volunteer to visit hurting people in a hospital or a rest home. You won’t be lonely before that night is over! Do you need a friend? Go to the street, find a homeless person and ask, “Are you hungry? Let’s go to McDonalds.” Buy that hurting person a hamburger and talk to him about Jesus.

God wants every one of us to be a part of his compassionate heart to the world. And if you’re willing to do that, he will send the needs to your doorstep.

So, present yourself to the Lord to be used. He will open all doors to you. Then you will truly know his heart of compassion!

    • moses737

Exactly Smashing the Machine. I saw this coming 20 years ago; as I was in a grocery store, and I looked at the checker and said, “We are losing our country.” I just had this aweful feeling that something was being planned that was so wicked and evil. And now it is happening. And even then; I was serving Jesus and preaching the gospel.

And only God can help us now. But first the evil ones have to have their wicked kingdom; so that they will drive more people to God; and test more people to see who will be on their side; with their mark of the beast chip; and who will be on Gods side; in denying that zombie making chip.

Right on, I couldn’t have said it better myself!

It is time for me to pray and help those God directs me to help.

  • Mr. G

I am sad about what has happened to our society. We have abandoned the most basic principles regarding what is right. The West is quickly turning into a sociopathic society.

Where will all this lead? I do not know, but despite the belief of the pragmatists that all is material, every country which has gone down this path has been judged spiritually, and these forces are far more powerful than economics. Call it God, Karma, The Force, or just Mother Nature – The judgement against this country is now inevitable, I believe. The best any of us can do is to prepare to help out those we love.

I have seen a rousting of homeless people locally, and no one in the local media dared to question whether it was a good idea. This country always had some serious wrongs on its record but it was saved by the fact that the American people were always trying to improve. That stopped around 30 years ago. It has been downhill since, and our arrogance in flaunting our pragmatic, evil ways is now costing us dearly.

I am sickened that religious people often seem to support a cruel, pragmatic society these days. I am also sickened that Liberals are totally distraced by gay marriage and abortion, and they think nothing of all the ordinary people who are abused every day.

People are totally distracted from what is RIGHT, but what is right still matters. I have given up on the spiritual battle, and now I just look out for myself and my own family.

People, wake up – America will be judged. Even if you are an atheist, realize that these things which are occuring are building up forces in society which are going to cause a complete collapse.

    Mr. G

    • I agree Mr G…what goes around, comes around!!!!

    • moses737

Sorry MrG but the best that we can do is all come to Jesus Christ and let Him fight for us. These devils have been serving Lucifer for 250 years; and the only One who can and will defeat him is Jesus Christ. But first; God has to find out who is on His side; and who will be on Satans side in the end.

Thats what has to be determined in the end. And you will ultimately have to make a decision whether to take Satans and his antichrist beast leader mark of the beast chip; or reject it and die in Jesus for rejecting it.

  • As I wrote in my book, NO Foreclosures!, in 2008, houses in America are the last “financial and economic lifeboats” for Americans. They have to fight like Jack Dawson in the movie The Titanic to stay onboard their lifeboats or they are going to freeze to death like the rest of the poor souls barely aboard the U.S.S. Titanic that is about to sink for the final time. Watch out for October if we make it through this July.

    • mondobeyondo

And it is a lifeboat that is now sinking.
I hope people didn’t depend solely on their homes as a rising financial asset. The housing markets in the Sunbelt states – Arizona, Nevada, California, Florida, etc – are already in dire straits, and will not recover anytime soon.

      • You don’t get it, do you. A home is for survival not a financial investment or ATM. A car is not for living, it’s for moving from point a to b.

        • mondobeyondo

That wasn’t how many people saw their homes in the middle of the past decade. Those people are now paying the price…

You mention here that Cisco is cutting 10k jobs. It might be also of note that on August 6th nearly 50k union landline Verizon workers are going on strike throughout the Eastern states. Even though Verizon makes billions they can no longer afford these workers. These are some of the last good paying jobs in America with benefits that are about to be wiped out. A massive protest is coming to New York City on July 30th. Also of note, from CBS news: “ Experts fear the public sector could continue to shed up to 30,000 jobs a month into next year.”;lst;1

    • moses737

Yes Les but dont you know that the International Bankers/Illuminati kingpins know that in the very near future; nobody will be having benefits on any jobs. You can all kiss your 401K’s and every benefit that you have goodbye. The New World Order globalist government won’t allow it. The Judgement of GOD on USA for all the atrocities, tortures and abominations done and doing in the world

  • D Rumsfeeld

    Sad article

    • xander cross

  • It´s worse than I thought in the US of A. Our mass-media in sweden are not telling about these things that is happening in USA. But they are talking about your “economic recovery”. Mass-media is never ever speaking the truth. The mentality of most swedes is “can´t happen here”, we will see about that when the wars and the BIG economic collapse is coming.

    • liberranter

I think the attitude of the majority of citizens of nearly ALL countries is “it can’t happen here.” We here in Amerika have just had more practice at it than the rest of the world owing to our geographic isolation and the fact that, due to the outcome of the geopolitical events of the last century, we’ve been accorded unearned privileges by the rest of the globe. In short, we’re resting on laurels earned sixty-five years ago, laurels that are now dead, withered, and dried up.

  • shypuffadder

Another great article. I see the decay daily – and it’s picking up speed. Government is rapidly becoming our worst enemy. Legislators are up to their necks in corruption and greed and therefore unable to think about anything else. They can’t care that the citizens of this country are being stomped on by the very law enforcement agencies that we support. There will be a very high price to pay when the majority of the citizens of this country realize that they are next, or very soon will be next. In the meantime, our legislators aren’t even asking “what are we going to do to combat all this homelessness?”

  • karen

I live in Florida near the ALA state line in Pensacola Fl there banning the homeless, and teenagers sit on the street corner and ask for food. Obama says Social Security checks will be late how late is late!!! Social Security is totally in the hole, it’s been given to the big bankers ect.. You can bet the debit ceiling will not be rasied, if it was to be raised they would of done that long ago,it’s all going to come crashing down, and people will be massively unprepared.

    • I got my check {on time} today

  • Dave in Scenic City

For once, I wish you’d attempt to address the core issue here which is who/what is really behind the overall imperative to disassemble the US economy and what their rationale is for doing so. You can’t just blame bad government or corporations acting in behalf of their stockholders. You have to go beyond that and identify those who set the overarching policy of globalization in motion and why they did so.

    • moses737

Dave its all about the International Bankers/Illuminati/Freemasonry/Bilderberger kingpins. And they have been wanting a One World Luciferic Government for 250 years. And they are so close; they can smell the blood. But the bottom line is; Satan and his fallen angels want to control mankind and make them worship them; through their antichrist beast leader. And their mark of the beast chip that is spoken about in Revelation 13 and 14 chapters of the Holy Bible.

  • Gary2

This is the america the conservatives want. They have funneled all the wealth to the top.

At a time all the above is happening their only plan is to further cut taxes on the rich and kick grandma out of the nursing home to get the money.

more than 3 out of 4 people in america of all political parties say to tax the rich to solve the deficit. Its coming.

    • Prepping for the Future

You know Gary you are brain dead it both sides that ruined this country. When you grow up and learn to act like a man let us know. Stop blaming the idiots in DC and start improving your own life cause no one else is going to do it for you.

    • LvM

Yeah, it’s totally not too much spending, it must be too less taxation. Shees. When someone goes broke because he bought a yacht, his bankruptcy must be the fault of him not earning (stealing is a better analogy) enough money.

  • Jimminy

The sad thing is that this could be me or YOU tomorrow. Nobody’s job is safe anymore. There is no loyalty, even from your boss that you’ve worked for for 15 years. I attended a preparedness group meeting a few weeks ago and EVERYONE knew at least one person that had been unemployed for over 6 month and could not find a job. It’s really scary! While my husband is still employed we are putting away as much as we can in case hard times will hit us too. We are buying extra clothing/shoes/long term food storage ( and garden seeds. I am learning to make cheese and how to can meat. Instead of going on vacation to a nice hotel this summer we are taking the kids tent camping and learn how to fish and set traps for small animals…. Times have changed! Take the opportunity to prepare.

  • Greed and corruption are decimating the entire globe. The wealth distribution in the US alone is an indicator that the destruction of the global financial system is imminent.

  • LvM

“If you don’t feel at least a little bit of compassion for those people then something is wrong.”

I DO feel compassion, but maybe you should cut down on trying to instill a feeling of guilt, it’s annoying.

“how globalization has absolutely gutted our economy.”
So businesses should pay more than they have to? And people overseas have less right to a job than Americans? Maybe you should look up exactly WHY workers are so expensive here in the United States. That is the root of our problems, not globalization.

    • Save the Republic

You gotta be kidding me. Yeah, it’s the American worker’s fault, we’re just too greedy. That CEO that’s getting $10 million a year running a company that he didn’t even start, why should he have to pay Americans more than $5 a day with no benefits? I mean, people in other countries are perfectly willing to accept that, why not American workers? Sure, Americans don’t live in grass huts without clean water, electricity, adequate food, but why not? It’s not like America is (or should I say WAS) the best country in the world, right?

The reason why American workers are more expensive is because we can’t plug our refrigerators into a firepit, our cars don’t run on straw, and we don’t believe that our children should become slaves as soon as they can walk and talk. And besides, everything that was built, including huge companies, was built by the workers, not the guy sitting on his butt telling everyone else what to do, but actually producing nothing in and of himself. You sound like one of those guys.

      • LvM

What are you on about? The fault of the workers because they are too greedy? Where did you get the idea I said that?

You made a reply to my post, but I really don’t see a reply to anything I said. And what the hell do refrigerators and cars have to do with wages?

Please, take a Valium, think for a minute about what I said and what you’re going to say, and then try again.

  • Even living in the 3rd most sparsely populated counties in the USA we see people in financial despair. The country is being looted!
How people can be that evil to loot the country for their own enrichment.
I’m nearly 60 now, I have seen the best of America and now the worst!

  • Mr Carpenter

As you say, once the “freebie” checks stop coming (to some 46% of the population), what’s going to happen then?

Frankly 54% of the population cannot carry the other near-half.

Some 90% of working Americans can barely cope in trying to carry the load of trying to feed their own families, etc.

So WHEN taxes dramatically increase by intention or by stealth (via hyperinflation – moving everyone’s tax rate “progressively” higher on an ever increasing curve), these figures will easily flip.

There is no way for this to end well.

The only way forward is to remove the bankers and their politicians, as well as all the politicians all the way down to dog-catcher, and including all the police.

To be frank, that is the only escape for free Americans. To fire their government, then close the borders to imported good.

It’ll be a hell of a shock to the system but within 10 years, we’ll be back on our feet.

It just won’t be anything like the country we had before, unless you lived in early 1920’s and remember the short sharp shock followed by a climb-out to prosperity (before the great depression).

In other words, we won’t have tons of material wealth – we’ll be working hard at jobs to make our own goods – nothing will “seem” as cheap as current day because we won’t have the near slave labor wages paid for the goods we buy – people will actually get a living wage for their work or they won’t do it! Actual, free enterprise…. wow. What a novel idea…

  • Morninginamerica

I would say being poor in America is far better then anywhere else on the planet I can think of. If only we had coolidge /hardy in office as they stopped a great depression by doing the exact opposite of what we are doing now. They slashed gov by 50% in one year and demolished the taxes. That would drive business back to the us and unleash America and her inventive nature

  • mark

We have done this to ourselves by exporting jobs overseas inorder to have more cheap stuff. 60 years ago a house being built was two bedrooms/one bath with a one cad garage. TV sets took months to save up for. A ringer washer or fridge a lot longer. We then increased our lifestyle with borrowed money. Everything seemed great, you could buy a TV with just part of a weeks wages. Houses were much larger and food was cheaper. All this was based on cheap oil and borrowed money. Well at some point the money has to paid back and to do this you must tighten your belt. We are broke. Although we should have followed our founding Fathers principles, we have chosen the socialist route. We need to go back to what our founding fathers had in mind. Since we have put ourselves in this position, if the taxpayers are to continue to fund welfare programs changes have to be made. I know some on this site will rant to tax the rich. The uber rich can leave to live in places that are better for them and then what do you have left to tax. Food stamp programs need to change to supply lower cost calories to the needy. You should not be able to use them for soda or ready made meals. Bulk foods like rice and beans etc will sustain life for us. People that are prepared for a collaspe have stored these types of foods for times when they are out of work or whatever. These folks are considered smart to be prepared and will be thankful for what they have. Some will think that this is is being mean to those in need but it is wise to make your resourses last as long as possiable until we work our way out of this mess.

    • Save the Republic

We did not do this to ourselves for cheap goods, it was greedy executives that shipped jobs away to increase profits to impress stockholders, and thus over-inflate their salaries when stockholders thought “wow, this guy is great, look how smart, our profits are through the roof”. They undercut the American companies that didn’t move overseas, until those companies had no choice to move also or go out of business. Unfortunately, many Americans did not even realize they were supporting foreign workers rather than Americans, because the name on the box was an American company. I don’t ever recall anyone voting on the question “would you be willing to sacrifice American jobs to save 10% off your next purchase?”

It wasn’t about the people wanting cheap goods, it was about the self-serving rich executives lobbying, lying, cheating, bribing politicians to allow slave labor to compete with our good paying jobs, and the politicians sold us out as a country all so they could line their own pockets along the way. The politicians who participated in this are traitors.

  • Winston Smith

  • sharonsj

What’s even more pathetic is the stupidity of the American people. We are witnessing one of the greatest transfers of wealth in our history, as our country is privatized and impoverished, while the financial industry and mega corporations control our government. And we’re still voting in the thieves, expecting them to save us.

according to me instead of spending on lot stimulus package why not US government setup special economy zone with tax free for business? so all outsource manufacture job can be come back. also make resident with minimum facility around this special economy zone where people can afford to work on low rate. so at least this home less people can start working and don’t have to live in car on in tent.

  • Jon Franco

Do not worry America….”Multicultualism and Diversity will save you”

  • LC

Recent headlines say 58.2% of Americans are employed these days with approximately 35% of people being employed by the government. Think about that. When the government defaults on the debt, which will happen probably later than sooner, it will be game over with only 23.2% of the population employed and maybe less.

    • liberranter

The 35 percent figure is misleading in that an even higher percentage of the population works indirectly for some form of government. This means that their jobs with private-sector firms are either largely or completely dependent on government spending, either in the form of direct contracts with government agencies or by servicing communities and/or industries that depend predominantly on government for employment or subsidies. (Think of towns like Sierra Vista, Arizona that are COMPLETELY dependent on the existence of a federal installation [in this case a military base] and would wither away and die if that installation were to close down). Add to this the fact that federal government borrowing and taxation has had a huge “crowding out” effect on private-sector businesses and their capital accumulation, thus slowly strangling the life out of any non-government sector of the economy.

Needless to say, this is going to end very, VERY badly for all of us, and very soon at that.

      • Godozo

If you’re in the Military, don’t be surprised if you keep getting your money. After all, the government doesn’t want its own army mad at it. I’d also not worry about Social Security Retirement. That’s more of a scare tactic than anything else.

I’d be more worried about Welfare and Social Security Disability. This stuff carries a lot of areas that have long lost their jobs; I can see people cutting this out of sheer spite.

    • Gary2

I would love a gov job. F the private sector

  • karen

I saw this this morning and thought others would be very concerned… In 1960 US Supreme Court Case titled Flemming v. Nestor (363 u.s. 603) the Cout ruled that they do not have any earned rights to any social security benefits, or any other goverment entitlement programme, as their perceived benefits were a non-contractual interest. The court futher declared. To engraft upon the social security system a concept of accured property rights, would deprive it of the flexibility and boldness in adjustment to ever-changing condition which it demands which means you pay into this program but you have no right to these monies the trillions of dollars have been used to pay for wars and to line the pockets of Banks.

    • mark

Karen you should also read a 1937 Supreme Court case titled Helvring vs Davis. It states that social security is legai with two conditions. One is that all the money collected must go into the general treasury. The second condition is the the money cannot be earmarked for any special purpose. It is just a tax that they can use for anything they want.

    • liberranter

But of course. That body of body of black-robed criminals ALWAYS HAS AND ALWAYS WILL, WITHOUT FAIL put the interests of the State ahead of the interests of the people.

  • Perry K

Our local “news” paper recently ran an editorial advocating a 33% cut in the minimum wage as a solution to our joblessness problem. They explained that cutting the minimum wage from $8.00 to $5.50 would allow employers to hire 50% more workers! Just think about it . . . all those people living in tents and their cars could get jobs and be able to afford to buy food and pay rent again. I’ll tell you, these chamber of commerce types are always thinking, trying to solve that age old problem of how to grow the lower class and get rid of the middle class. They must fantasize about how wonderful it would be to return to the working conditions described by Upton Sinclair in The Jungle. Ahhh! The good ol’ days!

    • Godozo

Sad thing is…the companies would just cut wages (not immediately, but over time) and keep the same number of people hired. They’ve learned to run with less, and would rather see their bank accounts grow than grow their businesses.

  • michelle

i feel ill at the thought of parents with kids sleeping in cars.

  • You’re right we do live in frightening times.

Last year we had 2 non family members dependent on us for everything (shelter, food, clothing some prescription costs, even pet food)and 1 more dependent on us for food.

It was a hell of a strain but we all scraped through.

Look out for your friends and neighbors. if they fall into hardship help then in anyway that you can.

A healthy, civilized community should never have people living in cars or in tents on the street.

  • greg L

I lived in my car for 1 month a year ago. I am not a bum. I did spend money on stupid thingss when I had a job and a house.. Now I know better. 10 dollar hamburger at a restaurant no way $6.50 pack of cig no $70 for a hotel room not. I have talked to many people who have their head in the sand about the united states 14 trillion dollar debt. Uncle sam should be spending money on this and that. It doesn’t matter how powerful a group you support is money that is already spent can’t be unspent.

  • mondobeyondo

Through my hazy and cracked crystal ball, I can see what the future could be like in the next 6 to 12 months:

The Republicans and Democrats will reach a deal on the debt ceiling at 11:52pm, August 1. Obama will give them a pat on the back, and say “Job well done! You’ve saved the country!”

Too late for the overseas markets though. The Nikkei plunges 30 percent on August 2nd. The DAX and FTSE follow suit. Then Wall Street.

Social Security recipients will get paid. No one else will, though. Our soldiers overseas will basically be fighting for free.

Taxes will go up. Nearly everything else will be cut. Home values plunge. In an attempt to jump-start the economy, Obama does his best Oprah impersonation. “You get a house! YOU get a house! And YOU, you too get a house!” Or perhaps a twist on Cash for Clunkers. How about Homes for Hobos?

Yes, there will be a new middle class in America. It will consist of $8.00 an hour jobs, people living in shacks, cars and tents, begging in the streets for a dollar or two, and an underground black market. It’s happening RIGHT NOW! Two weeks ago, a guy at the grocery store parking lot walked up to me and asked me for a couple bucks. At first, I assumed he was a bum who needed change for a bottle of Wild Irish Rose or something. Then he pointed over to his car, which had a woman and 2 small children inside. I gave the guy a $5 bill.

The U.S. is starting to sound more and more like a third world country, huh? Step in line and join the crowd. There’s about 4 billion other people, give or take, who live like this right now.

    • moses737

Yes Mondo! About 20 years ago; I was at a lavished hotel at a convention meeting. And out of the blue I said, “We are going to be a third world country soon.” Well I am a prophet. And hopefully, you are not one; based on what you said. But then too; you don’t have to be a prophet to know what is coming down the tracks. The International Bankers/Illuminati have been planning this for about 100 years; with their Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. And they are following their game plan to perfection. But the Great God of Heaven will allow them to be successful for a very short time. And their grand finale will be forcing everybody to take their mark of the beast chip in their foreheads or hands. And those who don’t will be killed and martyred.

But according to Revelation 14:9-11, if you take it; you will be tormented 24/7, because it will mean that you have joined and sided with Satan and his antichrist beast leader. But if you die for rejecting it; you will recieve great rewards in heaven and will reign with Jesus when He returns back to earth and defeat these devils and have them all in the most agonizing places in hell.

The dire straits that are engulfing America have their roots in the broken system of governance that resides in Washington DC. The vile Republicans are only concerned with the banksters and major corporations that fund their reelections. The Democrats are equally bad. So, be sure to vote for the very same idiots who created this economic nightmare in Nov of 2012. McConnell of KY and Boehner of Ohio do not have the interests of their citizens at heart. They only want to play political posturing, knowing that most in America are STUPID enough to believe their garbage, and vote for them again. The US Congress gave the Smirking Chimp and war criminal Shrub Bush the authority to start an unnecessary war of choice. That war has now cost over a TRILLION dollars, and the final cost will run to about $3 TRILLION. Not so funny now, is it??? That $3 Trillion would have totally covered the $2.6 TRILLION that the Congress owes to the Social Security system. You get the government that you vote for. WAKE UP!! Watch the Republicans, who were NOT concerned with the Smirking Chimp and war criminal running the national debt from $5.4 TRILLION in 2001 to over $10 TRILLION when the Shrubber waltzed out of the White House. leaving the Obummer with a collapsing economy. Sadly, the Obummer has not lived up to his promise.

  • McKinley Morganfield

I place all blame for our current circumstances on the people. We are the ones who elected the politicians. We are the ones who wanted all the programs and we did not want to pay for them ourselves. We wanted to reap but we expected others to sow. We came to believe that governments can never go broke because governments can always borrow more money or in the case of the feds borrow and print more money. Now we are slowly beginning to realize this was a fantasy.

Even now too many of us never give a single thought to the unintended consequences of allowing government too much sway over nearly every aspect of our daily lives.Too many have not been paying attention to what government has been doing in our name and how it has been piling debt upon debt upon our backs and the backs of the yet to be born. And many of us were and remain foolish and uninformed and persist in the fantasy belief that if only the government will play Robin Hood everything will be fine. This will not change until the voters wake up to reality. That means truly understanding what brought us to these dire circumstances.

There are days of sorrow and rage ahead of us. No one can predict when the collapse will come. No one can predict exactly what will happen. But know this, we the people have brought this upon ourselves. By all means help anyone in our local community who is in need if you are able. But first help yourself and prepare.

  • GoneWithTheWind

Imagine if the federal government decided to mount a huge effort to find and deport all the illegals in this country. By some estimates there are 20,000,000 illegals. They soak up our tax money in school, welfare, medical, housing, etc. costs. And they have jobs. Imagine if these homeless citizens could apply for those newly available jobs. Imagine if our federal and state budgets were reduced by the $200-500 billion that illegals cause us to spend. It would go a long way to fixing our problems at home.

    • Robert

Imagine if US employers were required to hire citizens or people with work visas. That would have the same effect. But illegal immigrants pay far more in taxes than they get back. They can’t get welfare or housing. They come here for jobs because employers are unafraid to break the laws and hire them. They pay into social security with fake numbers that add to the income of that program without ever expecting to get money back. They all pay payroll taxes and can’t get refunds because they are working on fake identities. The main reason the government is so tolerant of illegal immigrants is that they make a lot of money on the transactions.

      • Crystal

Robert: Illegal aliens DO get various forms of social services and Section 8 housing. Many of them do this by having children on American soil. Any child born on American soil is immediately upon birth considered an American citizen.

At this point, the illegal alien parent applies for benefits on behalf of the illegal alien child. By default the illegal alien parent benefits.

Also, most people don’t know that thousands of work visas are given to foreigners every month. Many of these jobs are considered high paying (although the foreign worker will receive much less pay). Therefore, the United States needs to place a moratorium on these visas being given. Go to the Numbers USA website for more information.

      • Reverend Draco

“But illegal immigrants pay far more in taxes than they get back.”

In California, illegals pay approximately $20Bn in State taxes. . . while soaking up over $30Bn in Public Services which are mostly unavailable to US Citizens. . .

Yup, they pay more in taxes than they get back, uh huh, suuuuuuuuuuuure. . . tell it to someone who doesn’t know any better.

      • Brandy

they do get welfare and foodstamps as well as medical!!! and housing what pipe are you smoking? I know of some illegals in Arizona I turned one into social services and you know what they said? we can’t count their income because they are illegal so they are entitled to the state benefits…Really? WTF??? so they can work and collect state welfare and by the way they always pull up in their brand new trucks with their family sporting new clothes to get that free Christmas program for their kids!! screw the illegals get them out!!! we need the jobs..

imagine people in your country were going to kill you because of you religion or some nonsense, imagine you had a small chance of escape, even if it was just to live in a tent in another country. imagine you did just that, and found a small job to keep yourself from hunger. now imagine someone comes along and says you have to go back to your country (a death penantly) because your not allowed to be there.
now imagine your going back away from the friends you’ve mabe, with nothing but knowing that you will probably be killed.

    • Phillip

imagine if all the money we had spent on all the wars, supporting other country military or just have military bases in other countries imagine if we spent the money here instead. immigrants have the rights same as all, same way as u.s companies goes else where and exploit, kill and harass workers. free trade is what brings people to start of. blame the government and big corporations.

    • moses737

Yes GoneWiththeWind – But it is too bad that the International Bankers/Illuminati need the 25 million illegals to further bankrupt America so they can destroy us economically so that we will gladly accept their One World (Luciferic) Government. This is being deliberately done to crash the economies of every state; and finally, the Great American Empire.

And once we have world government; then they will eventually try to force everybody to take their mark of the beast chip in peoples forehead or hand; so that you will be their zombie slave and brainless atonotom. And those people who take their Mark (chip) they will be tormented 24/7 forever, because it will mean that they have sided with and joined Satan and his antichrist beast leader; according to Revelation 14:9-11.

      • Elainee123

Moses737 your post is correct. Obama is destroying America. Everyone go to the following website then click Issues at top of screen, then click Agenda 21. Read all the Agenda 21 Articles and listen to Tom DeWeese Videos explaining what this means to America.
It is shocking and frightening. Agenda 21 is the United Nations laws used to control everyone. Obama and this administration have embraced the “One World Gov” and Agenda 21.After I read these Articles I didnot sleep for one week. The Agenda 21 articles on this site were taken from Agenda 21’s own website.
        It is the Truth.

America was founded a Christian nation and it appears we are “in judgment” by God and we have been “invaded (illegals here to just plunder)” – twofold problem!

“”””What goes through your mind when you watch something like that””””?
    referring to the tape above.
when I see this happening,I think gutless sheeple, it’s time to take a stand, it makes me wonder how the cops even walked away from their. those people should have started training together from day one when they started the tent city, the cops may have the law with them and all the guns ect, but those people could have put a stop to seeing what little they owned destroyed, even the twelve yr old kids and women should have been trained to fight a little.,the next time the cops came they would need an army or more as other homeless whould have been there to help.

  • Dr. T

I live in Baltimore County, MD. The code enforcement and police here are outragous! There is a county rule that no more that 2 unrealated adults can not live in one home. All my neighbors are elderly, we are young professionals. They HATE us, they have called code enforcement, animal control, the school board, sent harrassing hateful letters ect. All for small things, a forgotten lid on the trash can, I had a pet goat, my son peered over their fence, my kids make too much noise when they play and it bothers them. My sister and her 2 children live with us mainly due the current economy. They called code enforcement and we had to prove she was related to us and that I was actually married to my husband! If we were not able or unwilling to prove it we were in violation of the law the county would have taken us to court and we would have had to kick her out or face criminal charges! Could you imagine what would happen if a homeless person even tried to live in their car or god-forbid tent in our community?
There is this sense of blame in America. It is prevalent in the middle and upper classes. You got foreclosed on or evicted you must be lazy or screwed up somehow. Got cancer then must be your lifestyle. It could never happen to them cause they are hard working ect… It also scares them, they dont like to see it! My neighbors truely believe it is up to them to police my yard and home! They are not looking out for us they only care for themselves! I have talked to other young families in my area and all have had similar experiances. This is who is occupying my end of the middle class world, here in Baltimore County! I don’t know what it will take these entitled morons to wake up smell the stench that is the current state of affairs, stop spying in my yard and look at the world around them and get them involved with the community through volunteering ect… I imagine the police who are cutting down those tents are driven by calls from people just like them!

    • Jake

      Dr. T,
We left Harford Co. in 1987 and we’ve never regretted it. Maryland regulates everything and it seemed like everybody was an enforcer of all the laws. When we got to the mountains of NC it was literally a breath of fresh air. Trust me, there are still a few places where people can live free. My wife and I are preparing for collapse (hoping it will NOT happen) and we are preparing to house friends who find themselves homeless. Even now one of my former employers who had a net worth of more than 400K 25 years ago told me last week he is homeless, living in his truck. If he would ever move to our region of the country we will take him in.

    • moses737

Yes DrT I am in total agreement with you. And our nation is pushing toward an cold hearted and very unfriendly type of fascist reign; where there are spies everywhere; and we are no longer free. And our freedoms are being taken away everyday by very miserable people who hate God and hate children and hate anybody that is young and progressive. These people hate families; and it could be that they were so rotten for so long themselves; that their adult children don’t want anything to do with them. And they have abandoned God and anything that is righteous and good and kind hearted. And where will people like this wind up on the day of Judgment?

  • mondobeyondo

Whoa, how on earth did people survive before all these government programs? Like about 100 years ago when all that stuff didn’t exist? How did farmers and doctors and businessmen survive in 1911? What about the average American citizen in 1911? Maybe the Rockefellers and Carnegies just kicked the less fortunate to the curb as they walked their dogs, as they shouted “You loooserrrss!!” at their less fortunate fellow citizens… and yet somehow, the middle class of 100 years ago made it. And no government programs, either!

No Medicare. No Medicaid. No Social Security. No food stamps. No WIC. No child support. No Aid to Dependent Children. No nothing. Life must have been awful back then. Imagine – no unemployment insurance if you got laid off at the coal mine or railroad or sweatshop.

Don’t get me wrong. I am all for short term government assistance. Life is tough and unpredictable, and we all need a helping hand at some point or another.

The problem is now it has become a LIFESTYLE!!!

Unemployment insurance was never meant to be a sole source of income. It was supposed to be a supplement, to tide you over until you can find another job. In my view, the main reason unemployment bennies are so low – is to provide you the INCENTIVE TO GET OFF YOUR DERRIERE – get a job – and NOT to rely on the government!! Unemployment insurance is a safety net – not a freaking 747 luxury liner!!

Social Security was never meant to be a primary source of income either. It was assumed that during your working life, you had saved enough money to live comfortably in retirement (assuming you didn’t spend it all at Las Vegas or a brand new Mercedes), and maybe use the Social Security checks as a bonus (courtesy of Uncle Sam) for that trip to Paris or Tahiti. It was not meant to provide income for Grandma to buy cat food (no, not for her cats to eat. For HERSELF to eat!! Not exactly filet mignon, but hey…!!)

We are all the victims, top to bottom, of government greed, vanity, and corruption, and we are all reaping the rewards of those… such as they are.

    Just my $6.29 (inflation, y’know….)

    • sharonsj

How did people survive before government programs? They didn’t. That’s why, during the Great Depression, the government had to institute new programs to save lives and get people back to work.

Now we see all these “Christian” politicians shilling for the rich and claiming the poor, the unemployed, the homeless, the elderly, pregnant women, babies–why they’re all parasites, don’tcha know?

      • Sharon j
Where did you come up with the Christian Faith contributing to this video or to any thing about being a cause of this very bad situation?

The police who tore up peoples personal tents and destroyed their property are not Christians as their actions are not in any Christian works, these are non believers as they would reflect if rolls were reversed. Women who were running for political office in the past said they would be more compassionate yet you see in the video a big female cop walking around with her hands on her waist looking over things and keeping people away from the other cops who were destroying property of those trying to live in this contrived economy and were secure in their government jobs with huge benefits. What part of your mind says Christians would do this. If you are thinking of the type of Christians like the Chicago church were Obama attended maybe your right , but not those I associate with who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior they would not be working for this government employer who would participate in performing this type of job.

      • Gary2

Thanks sharonsj, you summed it up perfectly

Says the man that wants to live off the living host that is called the taxpayer.

  • Don Levit

Flemming v Nestor was an important case which detailed, as you said, that people do no have an earned right to their Social Security benefits.
Even more startling are the views of the Social Security Administration itself!
From a paper entitled “Reports and Studies, The Committee on Economic Security, Social Security in America, Part 2, Old-Age Security, Chapter 10:
“Taxes are collected as are other internal revenues and are not allocated as was proposed to an Old-Age Fund, but are merged with the general funds of the Government in the Treasury.”
“Benefits are paid based on the status of a worker, measured by wages. Should no taxes be paid, the worker still gets his annuity.
Government’s obligation to the Old-Age Account is not dependent upon enough revenues from taxesto reimburse the Treasury for the appropriation to the Old-Age Account.”
“The original bill made the receipt of benefits contingent upon paying taxes. Under the Social Securty Act there is no interdependence between the taxing and appropriation of benefits paid. Even if no taxes are paid, he still receives his benefits.
    Don Levit

Every Cop cutting up and destroying someones home should be required to shelter a homeless family for a year in their own home. Is there any Cops that can stand up to authority and do the right thing? Protect and Serve your fellow man, not your corrupt government officials.

    • A.S.

you are right…where is the police motto: “To Protect and Serve?”

Michael, what do you make of proposed QE3?

    • Michael

So far Bernanke is just kind of hinting at it.

I am going to see how this develops for now. I think we will definitely see more easing at some point whether it is called “QE3” or not.

  • bill

Michael, you only know a few readers who are homeless?
Gee, I have been homeless since 2006, but am not complaining. I was trained for free in film business techniques in 2006-08, and then lived in four South American countries, yes homeless there too, but learning Spanish.
None of those two directions in my life worked out–as did the other dozen jobs I’ve had–but I live to follow my own path.
I’m homeless in Miami Beach, not a bad gig, but planning other trips and educations.
I figure if the USA can’t use me, somebody else will, and will go anywhere in the world to find a good match.
I agree that the US prosperity–such as it is–will be the sweetest memory one day. Things will go to hell pretty fast. Advice to everyone: make your own decisions, go your own way. If those other smart people had anything to offer, they’d be rich themselves.

  • El Pollo de Oro

Michael T. Snyder writes that “America is becoming a very cruel place” and that “the United States can be a very brutal place to be if you are poor.” Yes, it certainly can. And the cruelty and brutality of The Banana Republic of America will only get worse as the American middle class continues to die and become the neo-poor. Millions of Americans who were middle class five or six years ago are now the neo-poor; millions more will be joining them in poverty. And as the suffering of the BRA’s neo-poor intensifies and the BRA becomes more and more of a Third World hellhole, we will be seeing some very harsh responses. Violent crime is going to skyrocket to Third World levels in the BRA, which will become every bit as dangerous as Venezuela, Guatemala, Papua New Guinea or El Salvador. And DPDDTT will be collected in the BRA just as it is collected in those countries.

DPDDTT stands for the Desperate People Doing Desperate Things Tax. It isn’t a “tax” in the literal sense, but rather, is something that desperately poor people resort to in crime-ridden Third World countries. Examples of DPDDTT include kidnapping, carjacking, armed robbery and violent home invasions. How does the kidnapping part of DPDDTT work? Well, first, a professional kidnapping gang lets you know that they’ve snatched your wife or daughter and demands a ransom. Just to show they mean business, they cut off a finger (possibly one with a wedding ring) and send it to you. Or, they torture her, film the torture and send you the video (it’s no fun to receive a video of your wife or daughter being burned repeatedly with cigarettes). In order to speed up the collection process, DPDDTT collectors might whack off additional fingers and mail them to you. Doesn’t sound very nice, does it? No, it certainly doesn’t. But that’s how DPDDTT is collected in Third World hellholes—and make no mistake: The Banana Republic of America (formerly the USA) is now a Third World hellhole. Karma’s a bitch, and those who enjoy mocking the neo-poor and laughing at their suffering will get a dose of reality when the DPDDTT collectors come a knockin’ with their guns, knives, razor blades and a very bad attitude.

“You’re going to see crime levels in America that are going to rival that of a Third World country. Welcome Mexico City. You’re going to start seeing people being kidnapped in this country like they do in other underdeveloping nations. It’s going to be very violent in America.”–Gerald Celente

The harsher life becomes for the BRA’s neo-poor, the more likely they will be to become DPDDTT collectors. Get ready to live in a violent, dangerous, unstable, crime-infested Third World cesspool. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to destroy the American middle class, now was it?

    • Gary2

Well said-I loved the FAQ you did earlier on the DPDDTT

That “Ontario” is a CITY located in California, and has no connection with the “Province of Ontario”.

  • Janet

Basically, they will eventually put the homeless in camps. It’s coming.

  • Ken

Just yesterday I was harrassed twice for money. First time at a gas station, a woman half my age asked me for a favor. I said “if it’s money, I can’t.” She immediately walked off. The second time I was just taking a walk in my neighborhood, when a disheveled guy was yelling “Sir, Sir” at me. I kept on walking. He too probably wanted a “favor”.

  • Perry K

I wonder how many of these unfortunate former middle class citizens in the “homeless” camps were in the “it’s their own fault” camp just a few months ago. If you are not in the upper crust, you are going to end up in the lower class. The upper crust has no need of a middle class. It must be pretty humbling to go from self-righteously preaching “it’s their own fault that they are on the streets” to standing in a bread line with the very people that you were so critical of. Eventually I will be joining you in that bread line, but will have a little bit less crow on my plate.

    • Gary2

Those are also the same stupid F*cks who vote republican because they are so dumb as to think they will be rich someday and so do not want taxes on the rich raised.

I know this one brain dead guy who made 100,000 per year and has now been unemployed two years. He is still republican. How can people be so completely dumb and still remember to breath???

      • Mailbag

Gary2, you’re a democrat, I take it? Have you ever played “Devil’s Advocate”?

    • Gary2

We have a progressive tax rate because, say, 22% of income is a hardship for a a working-class person trying to scrape by on stagnant wage than it is for someone that “earns” their money from dividends.

But somehow the Republicans and Tea-baggers thinks that those that make their money from capital gains deserve to pay 15%, or ZERO if some had their way. What’s wrong? What’s NOT wrong? WTF?????

  • sanityjones

Why can’t the government arm all of the unemployed people with M16’s and send them around to disarm their fellow Americans? They could live in re-education camps where their children could be taken care of while they work their new jobs. The sooner America is disarmed the sooner we can get this Globalist recovery under way. The government could also nationalize UPS, that way the uniforms and vehicles would be available during the off hours for raids.

    • moses737

InsanityJones!!Don’t sAy thing like that. The NWO might see it and say, “Why didn’t we think of that one too?”

  • James

Those Gestapos should be made to pay for every one of those tents. They destroyed private property and the government has no constitutional authority to seize personal property without a warrant. Where the hell are those people supposed to go? With the rising tide of the unemployed and poor, there will be increased violence and the majority of Americans had better support these poor people or they will regret it.

    • Gary2

just got my power turned back on after a few days as I could not afford to pay all my bills due to severe underemployment. I am formerly middle class and am now nuve poor, It is easy to be resentful at the rich for screwing the rest of us and ruining the economy, getting bailed out and now doing good at our expense. They have a whole class of republicans carefully making sure they do not pay a dime more in taxes.

Let me assure folks that this power outage really sucked and when things like this get more widespread there will be riots.

The rich will be taxed hard one way or another.

Pay back will be a bitch!

      • Garyisacommiepinko

It doesn’t surprise me you got your gas turned off and you can’t pay your bills. No wonder, you rip on republicans and consevatives…because we are self sufficient in good times and bad. All you do is complain and have a wet dream fantasizing about a socialist utopia.

Democrats have had total control of the house, senate, and presidency for two years. Every day they move the country closer to socialism and every day the economy gets worse. You clamor for this and yet you can’t make ends meet. Well, be careful for what you wish for.

What is your rebuttal? Let me guess- “It’s all Bush’s fault.”

Wake up and smell the coffee you useful tool!

        • Gary2

the repubes literally answer to everything is to cut taxes on the rich. Has not worked out too well…

  • Anna44

Chris Finstad: “you need to understand that most of the people on unemployment are lazy and worthless.”
The sad thing about this, is too many employeed people think the same thing. My B-I-L was a dealership owner/manager who worked long hours over 38 years and had to close his doors when Saturn was dissolved. When his dealership went under, 72 others lost their job. That’s 72 families who took a hit. He lost his home, everything. A few of his former employees lost their homes as well eventually. They were not lazy or WORTHLESS. It took him a year and a half to finally find something, but now he lives in a hotel unable to qualify for a house or apartment. This is an educated man who competed nationwide for top dog and got it more then once. His biggest fault? He’s almost 60, young enough to need the work, but too old to be hired.

As for my husband- 26 years AF officer, handling millions & billions on International & National levels has just entered his 7th month of unemployment. Two tours abroad- lazy he is NOT. He doesn’t qualify for unemployment, nor is he counted because he gets a retirement check. He wants and needs to work- yet there is little out there. If he doesn’t find something soon, we too will lose the home we sunk every cent into after 20 years of saving for it!

Mr. Finstad, your outlook is not only harsh on those who have fallen on hard times, it’s incorrect. Many people on unemployment are not lazy. And they are certainly not worthless.

    • Michael

      Very well said Anna44.

    • John B.

The days of having someone else’s company take care of you are over. I could start a business in a few hours with very little money.

Step 1. Get a cell phone. If you sign up for service, they usually give you the phone for free.

Step 2. Advertise your new phone number on free internet sites like Craigslist, Google Places, Merchant Circle, etc. There are probably over 1,000 sites that will list you for free. Even if you don’t have a computer, you can rent time at Kinkos, etc.

What kind of service to advertise? Whatever it is that you can do that people need – detail cars, yard work, babby sitting, painting, oil changes, website development, pet care, install flat screen TVs, there are a million services that people need to have done and will pay for it. There’s no way an enterprising, hard working person should be out of work in the US.

Back when I started my business 30 years ago, you had to have an office space (read very expensive) to get a business phone number. And advertising in the Yellow Pages could take up to a year to get in. Starting a business today could be done in a few hours.

      • Mary

It is very easy to put up an add. The problem is that no one may call you for what you offer. I have tried the yard work, babysitting, adult day care and companion. I did get calls for companion but it was for sexual companionship such as an escort. So, I decided to go back to college and get further in debt in hope that I can at least find a better job one day.

    • Ouida Gabriel

I’m sorry about your situation Anna. I hope you husband finds work soon. I am assuming the “AF officer” means Air Force. My nephew is Air Force. The other day I read that military people are being let go. I have been wondering how my nephew is doing ever since I read that. I always thought the military was a safe bet. I guess that is not always the case.

  • James

We might as well get over it and start setting up another economy among the middle class and poor. One that corporations can’t control. We can do this by denying the Elite and corporations access to this new economy. We don’t need to buy from them, rather we buy from mom and pops, farmers markets, buy land and grow our own food, return to an agrarian society. This is the only way we can survive in a “Reversed Industrial Revolution.” The workers came from their farms to work for the corporations, now they are sending the work overseas. Now, the workers must return to the farms so they can at least grow their own food. Corporations and the Elite can be denied access to this economy simply by the middle class and poor by not letting them in. Don’t buy things from these companies, big box stores, Etc. These companies destroyed the local small businesses and mom and pops. Rather, support local businesses that buy and sell locally. The energy crisis will eventually force us to adopt the more local economies as prices for gasoline and diesel fuel go up and up. We need to reconstruct the nations rail system, and mass transit to prevent community isolationism, and to increase the transport of locally produced products and food.

  • James

I don’t mean this in a bad way, but it may be a good thing that people are losing their jobs. If enough people lose their jobs, it might cause the congress and corporations to rethink their whole economic theories since there won’t be a lot of people making the money that congress and the elites need to continue their stupid wars. They will be forced to re-prioritize their thinking, and put themselves in a survival mode. I hope eventually this will kill the upper class and let them feel what we are now feeling at the middle class level.

  • Andy

That was kind of you, Mondo.

..and I think the new home program be called ‘Cash For Caulkers’.

This is what America is coming too. We could have headed off the International Bankers/Illuminati after they assasinated JFK; but we didn’t and now we have hell to pay. Now, they have gained great momentum and are ready to finalize their world domination. Now all we can do is to call on Jesus Christ and get closer to God.

As their Mark of the beast chip is on its way. And we have to reject it because, if we take it; we will be tormented, 24/7, because it would mean that we have surrendered too; and chosen Satan and his antichrist beast leader; and their One World Luciferic Government; according to Revelation 14:9-11. And that wicked and Satanic Government will demand that you worship the antichrist and Satan.

  • Kevin

    You said.

“This is the america the conservatives want. They have funneled all the wealth to the top.”

Those conservatives included Kerry, Kennedy, Edwards and Biden who all voted for China Free Trade along with 80% of US senate Democrats. They were only slightly behind the 83% of US Senate Republicans that also voted for this agreement that did more to drop the middle class into poverty than anything else.

If the Democrats controlled both houses and the Presidency the agreement would still have been passed and the result of US job loss would be the same. A revered Democrat President signed both NAFTA and China Free Trade into law. No doubt organized labor will still stand up and clap when Clinton enters a room for one reason, he is a Democrat.

    • Gary2

Kevin-your right they both suck, however, by your own numbers the Dems are slightly less sucky.

      • Elainee123

You would not think that if you knew what was coming which Obama and Progressives have embraced. Go to and read the Articles on Agenda 21. Click on Issues at top then click on Agenda 21. Read them all and listen to Tom DeWeese videos. It is shocking and frightening. I had to read it several times for it all to sink in. If this gets implemented we are gone, and they are well on the way to getting it done.

  • It is illegal to be homeless in America.

  • I can tell you it’s a real social/emotional divide to be in the pending-homeless economic class. Like any other personal catastrophic event, going through this baptism of fire has made me realize that I no longer have much in common with those I knew who still insist that everything is A-OK, just maybe a little slow. Just another thing to add to the stress and strangeness of it all.

“Sadism dominates the culture. It runs like an electric current through reality television and trash-talk programs, is at the core of pornography, and fuels the compliant, corporate collective. Corporatism is about crushing the capacity for moral choice and diminishing the individual to force him or her into an ostensibly harmonious collective. This hypermasculinity has its logical fruition in Abu Ghraib, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and our lack of compassion for our homeless, our poor, the mentally ill, the unemployed, and the sick. … We accept the system handed to us and seek to find a comfortable place within it. We retreat into the narrow, confined ghettos created for us and shut our eyes to the deadly superstructure of the corporate state.

900%! No wonder the world is broke!

The US decided the car was the beginning and end of everything and that people/nature was second. We did okay for awhile but once energy prices started doubling the car economy started losing traction. Now, it’s bankrupt and folks are living in cars. How ironic!

The choice has become, drive a car or have a job, drive a car or have a place to live, drive a car or have a future, drive a car or have something to eat. It’s the car or you and so far everyone has been making the wrong choice.

I need your help and understanding: the carz have to go or you go. What I need from you is to spread the word: it’s cars or you.

If you do nothing the cars will use up the rest of the country’s resources and all will wind up with nothing, no resources left to make amends … you don’t have much choice …

    • Otown Right Guy

Go sell that on Kunstler’s web site. There is plenty of oil, natural gas, shale and coal. There are too many environmentalists (aka commies). Peak Oil like Global Warming is nonsense.

      • Godozo

Shale gas, deep sea oil and mountaintop coal doesn’t disprove Peak Oil. Indeed, they prove it – if we still had Texas in its prime, we wouldn’t be fraking Pennsylvania into hell OR putting the Gulf into BP’s hands OR leveling West Virginia for their coal.

We’re doing a lot more work for every ounce of energy than we used to, and we’re getting to the point where it won’t be worth getting those extra units out of the ground. Sooner, not later. And fraking/mountaintop leveling/deep sea drilling will just delay the day of reckoning…delay, not cancel.

Thank God I’m an Alaskan! It may be cold here in the winter; but there’s plenty of firewood :). We have vast oil, coal, gold, silver, copper and other natural resources the world will still need and want to trade for. And best of all we got Canada between us and the nightmare that’s going on down there. I’ll pray for the US, but I fear it is all but done for. Alaskan leadership needs to start making plans for entering into defense and other treatise once the US collapses. It will actually be easier for Alaska to utilize our resources and prosper economically once we’re free of the Imperial Federal Government and it’s 9th Circuit Court.

    To mondobeyondo:
Back in 1911, there was room at the family farm for the outcasts of the family. You know… like the Waltons (G’night, John-Boy..). There weren’t rules and regulations against camping out in the woods if you didn’t have family to take you in. There was a LOT more compassion. Which, by the way, if you think people were so much better back then, you’re welcome to jump in the old time machine and go get some of that compassion.

It wasn’t illegal to grow a garden. It wasn’t illegal to barter. Nobody was going to turn you in for taking your kids on an extended camping trip. And nobody destroyed or stole the last possession you had.

So you think there are jobs out there for all of the unemployed, do you? When is the last time you looked at the job listings, or showed up for a group interview for 3 openings at Target? Did you notice the large crowd accompanying you? They aren’t your fans! They’re not looking for your autograph. They are your competition for one of those 3 jobs. In that large crowd, there are people who will NEVER get hired again, by anyone. Why? They’re too old.

Nobody will hire a 60 year old to chase grocery carts when they can get a 22 year old to do it faster. Nobody will hire that senior for a sales position, when a pretty 20-something girl will bring customers in.

Nobody is living the high life on unemployment. Even in the most liberal states, it equals only to about a quarter of what the earned income was. It is NOT what you think. And the people ON unemployment EARNED that right to the benefit! Money was taken from their pay for that program. It’s not a government freebie.

You would do well to take another look at what you’re saying. This can happen even to YOU, in your smug arrogance of superiority and righteousness. Next time you see a homeless person, give HIM your $6.29 – in cash.

    • mondobeyondo

True, society was much different in 1911 than it is today. People had trust in their friends and neighbors. It’s not that way today. Times change… when was the last time you had a visit from your friendly neighborhood milkman or a house call from a doctor?!

And government has stuck its nose in a lot more places, as well. Too many places, if you ask me. Government isn’t the solution to the problem – government IS the problem!!

As to why those over 60 aren’t being hired by anyone? Well, if it’s solely based on age, that’s called age discrimination, and it’s illegal. It’s a violation of federal law to hire a younger person just because they are more attractive, have more “spunk”, or whatever. If older folks have a valid case, they need to call their local EEOC office and file a complaint (assuming the government employees aren’t too busy playing golf).

Arrogance of superiority? Nah. I’m no more superior than anyone else.

  • TheNightowl

I’m still trying to figure out how it is those St. Petersburg, FL, police officers who were cutting up tents thought they had the authority to vandalize property belonging to private citizens. I simply cannot envision a statute under which that behavior is allowed under the US Constitution.

  • Thisvideo

This video was upsetting, not horrifying, but upsetting.
These government workers, “COPS” should have at least ask the city before cutting up the tents, can we at least help relocate them?
This was not thought out at all by any or all of these government workers.
These “COPS” did what good little Germans are told to do.
Remember when you were studying Hitlers Germany?
The good little German people were only doing just what they were told to do?

I know Florida is corrupt and it sees it as NYC sending homeless a one way ticket to St. Peters which in all honestly we New Yorkers do send the homeless on a one way tick to St. Peters, but at least we have compassion when we do this and do not send them to Alaska.

    • v

You understand that Hitler and Germans were fighting exactly against the same people that brought us this disaster?

  • JerryParker

It is too bad, isn’t it, that so few telephone booths are intact and standing. They would provide a place out of the rain or snow for someone (or two) to stand while sleeping on their feet.

  • Good questions in these comments. The issue is control. It is a basic component of human nature that tends toward slavery. One is compelled to make other human beings an extension of himself, and others are drawn into bondage by their physical needs. The illusion of security was broken for me by being monetized and harvested. It is a very rude awakening to be disposed of as property, replaced by different property.

  • NYX

Well, the US is finally getting to experience what they have imposed on the rest of the world for decades. Let’s see how they like it.

  • Tent city

What a golden opportunity lost by St. Petersburg fla. Police, city officials, social service dept. Not only could they have saved these poor homeless by giving them city jobs, cleaning, painting, gardening, in exchange for helping them organize a living area, yeaching them skills to build, refurbish old homes, learn a trade, no instead they took the easy way one way solution…..they cut up thier tents…nice

  • Proeliator53

I think that if/when police tell american families that they cannot live in a tent or their cars when they have lost everything, and have nothing to loose further…..thats not thinking. I have enough common sense to not piss someone off who has lost everything and has children to take care of….police officers who don’t think kinda need to start.

  • Unicorn

This how they divide and conquer. They needed to destroy the tents and stuff to make the homeless totally dependent. It used to be you could put 3 people in a room together and they would figure out someway to survive. Now if you put 3 people in a room together they either argue, talk about Lady GaGa,get drunk and talk sports or some other meaningless subject.Totally dysfunctional.

I’m sure there must be a church in St. Petersburg.Where’s the churches?Time to practice what they preach.

  • Jean

Been there, did that… and seriously, it S*CKS! Last time I was in a situation like that I was in my early 20s, lived for 4 months with my baby in a tent, on an island off the coast of Maine…

    at 60, I don’t care to do a repeat of the experience…

  • Gary2

This is the world of republican conservative wet dream. They think money=virtue and that only the rich matter. You can see that I am right by their plans to cut taxes for the rich even further even though it has never worked in the past. The rich already have low taxes, where are the jobs?

Until we tax the rich and spread the wealth things will only get worse.

BTW-the rich will be taxed hard either peaceably or not, they will be taxed.

    • Elainee123

And the rich will quit working too. They will shut down their business or move them overseas.
They will not suffer, they will have money to live on because they have savings. The Middle class and poor will suffer because unemployment will reach the highest level it has ever been.
This is a fact. Many rich people have already left America, many many more are making plans right now to leave. Then what?

  • Just move to another town. Don’t stay where there is no more work. Just move on. For example, Las Vegas, Nevada, was a tourist town. Tourists stopped coming to Las Vegas. The money stopped flowing. Many people then switched to California or Texas where there is plenty of money coming in from many different economic sources (not just tourism).

  • Gary2

We’ve all heard the arguments. You can’t tax the rich because they’ll hide it anyway. You can’t tax the rich more because they are the job creators. Higher taxes on wealth will hurt our economy, wait for the trickle down.

I’m afraid I don’t trust the folks saying these things. I’d like to try it and see what happens for myself, thank you.

  • Not naive here

Memo to mondobeyondo about filing with the EEOC regarding age discrimination. First, you have to be able to PROVE this. Do you really think these employers aren’t going to cover their tracks and make it look like it is some other reason than age, when that IS the reason? Like they are going to admit this?
C’mon, if you believe that, you truly are naive.
And what would the EEOC do, even if you could prove it and filed? Oh, probably nothing. Like most gubmint agencies, they are useless, unless it is an issue of skin color. Then, they will be all over it. But not if you are white.

  • the marine

as i see it alot of the homlessnes in america is their own fault if they had saved money paid off their mortage sooner or not even signed for the loan in the firstplace they might not be in the situation the problem here is trying to impress everyone and getting in debt on loans we can not afford i am not for big banks or big government but peolple have to take responsibilty for their own action if can not afford a loan

  • patriot alice

Too big to bail, and too big to fail is the new norm, it’s hard to believe that even though Europe is leading the way to hell because of their high debt, here in the USA we continue to print, borrow and spend our way to hell too. When will they stop? To continue borrowing 2 trillion dollars a year to prop up a false economy is crazy. Huge cuts in government spending and tax cuts for the private sector to create jobs is the only solution, but politics won’t allow it to happen…..

  • Fullfreedom

Well, they’ve built plenty of FEMA camps for just such a situation. Don’t worry, the round up is coming.

  • the only way to get Justice in our nation is to Elect ME Don Cordell for President in 2012 so I can return jobs to America, so I can deport all the illegal aliens back to their country. I am here for America and Americans, long may we survive, if we are ready for a Revolution, it’s time to ReVote, and do it in Nov. 2012. I’ll be here for you, will you be here for ME?

  • Michael

I think this is the tipping point. The US should declare the War on Terror to be over, because the US simply isn’t worth defending any more.

The least bad option would be to let China take over the US and call time on America’s 200-year experiment in liberty. The hard truth is that durable civilisations like China’s have never been free societies. Freedom just turns into sexual licence.

  • Toomanyfakeconservatives

Agreed on the FEMA camps, which are waiting in the wings. I’m an armchair lawyer, and I can assure you this tent cutting incident would make a compelling civil rights case. Hopefully a lawyer has already filed suit.

  • Dustonthebottle

The government is beyond caring about the people…both sides work for who fills their pockets. The problem here is “The American People” need to stand together and take action. 1) we need to limit congress and senate to two year terms only. They are easier to to keep honest and we should vote on if and when they get a raise, after all we pay their exorbitant wage. They should also have the same retirement program, why are they so special they don’t do much anymore except hold us hostage to the whims. Then watch how fast social security goes back to the old age fund…you didn’t put in you don’t get out. 2} How many of you out there know that the income tax is illegal? Go to http://www.TRUTHATTACK.COM the law was never radifed and IRS is not a governement agency.I have worked hard to spreed this info so people will stand up and fight back, we have the legal right to do so. I spend every April at the post office handing out this info so check out the site http://www.TRUTHATTACK.COM I’m not saying taxes shouldn’t be paid, just that the right people pay them. It is stated that your taxed on profit or gain….we the working class only bartor for a living wage. I don’t know about you but mine is a wage thats tough to live on, much less pay these taxes on. 3) We have to stop giving to every country that we fund, close the bases and our bourders, send home the ones draining our systems…And for Gods sake help our own. Feed and house the people that have put so much into this country. 4) AND this the biggest one Stop letting these people that come here change our country… THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON CHRISTIANTY and the ENGLISH LANGUAGE, why are we the majority letting them take over and change this once and sitll can be great Country.I’m part American Indian and my people have suffered this before and my other family came from Itlay…they learned enough english to get by and recieved no hand outs. They found want ever work they could even my granddad at age eleven.Back then they had pride and came here to succeed. We need that pride back in our country and if you have been reading closely you understand that it is our own government bring this ONCE GREAT COUNTRY to It’s KNEES. 5) If Companies whant to out source their labor or manufscturing then we Have to taxes them on that because the are the ones making all the PROFIT and Gains…..Please Stand up for AMERICA….Pass this on spread the word…we need to take our government back from them who care so little for the hard working and poor that they feel it is better to see us starve go homeless, uneducated and unhealthy as well as dead, so they can give the rich tax breaks to stay in their good graces……….DUST

It is an embarassment to see postings like this. When one tries to alert others to the forthcoming problems one gets lumped in with folks like Dustonthebottle who consistantly add two to two and get seven. Rational discourse, not ranting is needed if we are to gracefully step back from the brink that our profligate ways (not those of the Chinese or Mexicans or Athiests or Muslims) have brought us.

  • Barbara Rolens

Just finished reading article from mid July regarding people living in cars etc. I would like to share my story with you. My husband worked 40+ years and I have worked 30+ years both of us in finance. When John got the call in 2007 that the company he worked for was closing I went back to work (didn’t need to work because his job provided well for us). Next year he turned 62 and started receiving Social Security. With my income and the SS we were able to eke out a living. Due to vaious layoffs that began in 1997 we had exhausted BOTH of our retirement accounts. Even though we probably should have put $135 into a savings account we gave it to the local rescue mission, the Humane Society, and the wild horse preserve. And we do not regret any of that. Then I lost my job in January 2009 and we knew we had some serious decisions to make. Of course we both sought employment but that just did not happen. At this point we had only about $5,000 to our name. We took $1,000 and went to Ajijic, Mexico for a month. While I was working John had been doing research on a place to retire. So when we returned to Colorado we sold both cars and bought an old cargo van. Then put the house up for sale; it finally did sell later that year but it was a short sale and we made no money from that transaction. During the time we came back from MX until we returned a month later we sold everything we could and gave lots and lots of stuff away. We have been here for a little over two years now and really can not complain. Most of the citizens here are living in poverty and we rent a house which costs half of the SS income. However, had we stayed in CO we would probably be living under a bridge. We’re adapting (John better than I). For example instead of a hamburger or steak on the grill we may have scrambled eggs and fried potatoes or rice and beans. To date we have $500 in savings, no life or medical insurance, but we have each other. Ironically US citizens may want to consider MX and I say ironically because it has been the other way around with Mexicans coming to the USA.

  • I recently wrote an article about the economics of political clout. Political clout or lack thereof is what gives people influence in this country. It seems like that the people have the most influence are the ones that least need that influence in this country.

See the poor, the disadvantaged, the disabled, the retired, the sick, these people don’t make any money for the powers that be. Honestly said, they are a drain on the social safety network. They are the most vulnerable of our society. They are the ones that need our help the most.

And yet all we hear from the thugs in Washington is how we can afford to help these people. We can afford to give corporations tax breaks that are so amazingly generous it boggles the mind. We can afford to give millionaires and even billionaires tax breaks while they set on mountains of cash which they’re not investing in a productive manner. We can afford to engage in dozens of police actions around the world and yet we can keep our own people safe at home. We can afford to feed millions of people in other countries and yet we can afford to feed our own people. We can afford to send missionaries to build housing overseas but were not building homes for the poor and disadvantaged in this country.

This country has a real problem with priorities. This country needs to start taking care of its own before we worry about taking care of anyone else. This whole situation makes me very very angry and virtually everyone I talk to is angry about it just like I am. When is our government going to start listening to the common man rather than bankers, corporations, and out right predators?

Zzzzz. Move to India, you can live like kings among the ghettos there.

  • Jim Morrison when asked if he was going to lead the masses to freedom said, “Are you kidding, no, I can’t free the people, they cling to the chains that bind them, those chains are their security”. Paul McCartney said, “the people have the power, they just don’t know it, and so they give it away freely”. Call this uniformed consent.

The logistics of this meaning is we the people of America are not required to use FRN Federal Reserve Notes, but only for payment of taxes. 100’s of alternative currencies already are being used in America. The one convicted, The Liberty Dollar, was convicted for counterfeit only because he used the term Dollar. We the people have been contracted into this corner and the answer is in contracting our way out. End fractional reserve lending as debt slavery:

Bankers would have us believe it is their sole right to conjure into existence our money supply, and they tell government that it should not be in the banking business, and that money creation is best left to banks.

Government should tell the bankers that money creation is the greatest sovereign authority of government, and banks should get out the government business of money creation. This should be a policy referendum to be voted on. Long live the State Bank of North Dakota, and the others that are soon to follow.

With the moral decay of the country, all this concern is not going to change a thing .
The liberals and especially Obama, have proven their determination to bring America down .
Obama is using a Marxis stratigy learned in collage ,and is fallowing his plan exactly. Liberals are too stupid to see the out come except in their fantasy dreams .
Taxes and money for that matter are not the issue, seeing the billions given awaay by them often.
It is control ,the absolute bottom line in the distruction of the constitution, removal of the 10 commandments from courts. By the way law is not baised on truth or justice any more ,it is baised on what one can get away with .
Why do you think is is Obama lies so freely ?
It is the nature of the BEAST.
Most of congress are lawyers and liars ,once in office ,serve their own agenda , not the people who put them there.
With out looking at the reputation of the man ,rather listening to misleading promises liberals jumped on the band wagon, wanting to see a black man in office . Well , now you see the result of this irrisponsible voting , ignoring the reputation of the man. His plan will work and america will go down you can bet on it ,because the liberals support their own imorality ,LIES.
Ever see a lawyer who stopped lieing ?

We must return Middle Class jobs and manufacturing back to America. Stop all the imports. Our leaders tell us, China buys from us, yeah, we buy $10 worth China buys $1 from us. Our nation is broke, we only have this next year to ReVote, to ReStore America, or we will surrender to the New World Order, with United Nations troops in power to force us to submit. If you think your little guns will defend America, let me tell you what you can do with those guns when the turn off all of your utilities, turn of the Radio and TV stations, close the bank the grocery and gas stations, stop all mail delivery coming and going, ban newspapers, except publications telling you how to meet government plans for your behavior. YOU will surrender when the SWAT team comes to your door, because they will kill you and your family, so others in your neighborhood see what happens if you resist. Is this the future you want for America, or a pissed off 84 year old man like me to kick ass, and clean up Washington DC? • John

I’m pretty perplexed by one thought:
Why does anyone act surprised by any of this?

As early as 20 years ago, I remember reading articles that suggested that we’d chosen a collision course with economic calamity. We can only spend government money for so long before the debt grows too high. After that, we have only ourselves to blame for our plight. We could’ve insisted on financial responsibility decades past. We didn’t.
Now the piper is here; we must pay him.

If we’re suffering a lot, it’s primarily because we didn’t prepare at all for calamity.

I am curious: Why did anyone think it’d be acceptable to set up quasi-permanent campsites in any city? That makes no sense. If you’re not able to pay rent, you’ll need to look for a different way to survive. That’s not likely possible in the city.

The video does give me an idea though: If the economy goes far enough “south” for long enough, I guess I’ll throw my camp gear in the car and head for the countryside.
Feeding myself might be awkward, but if things have turned that bad, there’ll likely be enough of us about that we can figure out how to (legally) obtain food.
We’ll simply need to rely more on outdoor skills than we have in the past.

We’ll be OK, but we might suffer for some time.

  • daisy

That guy sleeping in his truck in your neighborhood is probably a druggie, a criminal or someone who who’s out there because no-one in his whole family wants to deal with him. You really don’t want him eyeing your family all day. Call the cops.

    • Ricci

Wow….do you really think that? I am a licensed social worker for 10 years. In 2005 I lost a son & daughter 3 hours after they were born. For 3 years I suffered in pain, still working my ass off, but found I was very ill. After chemo, immuno-suppressants, and a myriad of other medications I could not afford, I went bankrupt and lost my house. By this time, I was awarded disability on the first try w/o an attorney. I wasn’t expected to live. But here I am. I can barely move somedays I hurt so much. I don’t have family willing to take me in. I look fine on the outside you know. If I would just have more faith or exercise more or eat the right foods I would be cured. Whatever. I often worked 50 to 60 hours a week to protect kids from real problems (not taken away for poverty as people say……so sick of the myths about social services). Anyway, before that I worked mental health, and worked in the school district. I have busted my ass to care for other people. My husband left, children died, and when my health failed I lost everything and fell through the cracks. It’s people like me who are homeless…I do not drink. I do not use drugs. I can barely get the medications I need even w/ supplemental insurance. I get stalked and harassed by police if I so much as get tired and pull over so I don’t wreck. I was on my dad’s property in my car 3 times in two months I was approached by police…one time there were 4 cops that came to my car……on our family’s private property. My car has totally been profiled. I’m so sick of it. At this point, I would be better off dead.

    • Ricci

I sleep in my car. I have nowhere else to go. It gets really cold and hurts my bones. I would love love love to go back to work but I was hospitalized 12 times in two years. I wouldn’t be able to keep a job because of my health i’m not dependable. THESE are the people who are homeless. It’s also a LOT of veterans that are homeless. But I sleep in my car. Often on family property and I’m still stalked and harassed by police and I’m sick of it.

Why don’t you call the police on real criminals like the jerk off who gave his daughter meth-amphetamine? Or the man who beat his kid w/ a cattle prod? Or the family who parties all night and doesn’t notice their baby has been rolled over suffocating on the couch and by morning they don’t understanding why their baby is dead? Or the jerkoff pimp from St. Louis driving around in his car w/ his fur coat and gold chains giving over 80 percent of the students in public school drugs? Maybe the cops should be doing real work!!! and let the homeless do what they can to survive and live out what time they have left with a little dignity…the only thing I have left to hold onto is my car. I’ve lost everything else. My ex is an attorney, I went from upper middle class to homeless in a matter of months. It can happen to anyone!!!! Don’t be so high and mighty.

Environmentalists call this padding their pockets and subsidizing back to the
    Stone Age.

This might even been funny in the 1960?s. If it were a Fred Flintstones and
Barny Rubble Movie. About How to aggressively systematically work with the rich
to Pollute Ground Water quality to the point it is unsafe to drink or use.
So to they make a law you can only buy water from their pipe line. And to make
the air we breath full of Toxic Gases, Sulfur Dioxide and more Radioactive
and Acid Rain. Injuring all living things on Earth.

With Fred Flintstones to the Rescue. To help create a Healthier Environment.
For all Future Generations. By spotlighting Renewable Energy and Free Energy
like Wind and Solar. On his and his neighbor Barny Rubble’s roof. Even though
the greedy wicked would do everything to stop or slow them down.

Just imagine a dream that a 100 years ago one of the smartest man to ever
live had. A dream after working with Sun Light. That all on Earth would use
    Free Energy Solar Energy.

That Dream also shared by a man that dreamed this over 2,250 years ago.
Both These men showed the world in their days. That this dream of Free Energy
Solar Energy World wide was very possible. Both of these two wise men had
first hand worked and researched their experiments for not just days, weeks
    put for many years.

One of these men used chalk on Black Board the others board was a black
stone table or floor covered with white sand and used a stick. One of these
two Brilliant men had Kings from all most every Kingdom on Earth come to him
    for advice.

The other went to almost every nation on Earth. Freely on his own dime
Teaching All that had ears to hear. He would win the Nobel Prize for doing so.
For his work on Solar Energy. Only after years of doing research and when most
Scientist on Earth would not take the nomination for the Nobel Prize in 1921
this Brilliant scientist was awarded it in 1922 for the 1921 year.

Now if this was just a Pretend TV Show or a Movie from a dream. This would
be a great Sci Fi Story Line. In the 1960?s or even better to day. Sci Fi story
    Movie or dream No.

All that i Have told you did actually really happen. Albert Einstein won the
Nobel Prize for what? When Government leaders asked him to go on stage. To
address the Scientific Community and the World. About what he was given the
Nobel Prize for. When Albert Einstein Had done so. He addressed them with his
other accomplishments. For years most Governments did not have a ear for
    Einstein’s Dream.

Archimedes around 250 B.C. was know most of the World over as a great
Mathematician. One of the first Scientist and Inventor of many things. Even
the first Laser Ray from the Sun’s Energy. Science Fiction is what you would
have though you were seeing if you could go back in time, it was real.To day
we call it The LASER, Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission. Back then it
was just called Amplification of the SUN Archimedes Death Ray.

Thousand of years later it would be a Laser. That Albert Einstein help
make possible. That would unlock one of the first books on Earth.
The METHOD written by Archimedes. Then over more then 250 years later. When
well Faded was cut from a scroll and put into a book form, to be easier to
hide from the Romans by St. Paul. This book sold for over 2 million dollars.
In New york at Christie’s Auction House.

These two are at the top of the list of the World’s Greatest Scientists,
Viewed by Scientist around the World.

Sad that for the last 25 years or so of every teacher asked no matter what
Grade k through 16. 80% of them did not know Archimedes. Even sadder 90%
of them could not tell you what one of the most Brilliant Scientist to ever
live on Earth. Won the Nobel Prize for.

It was for the work Albert Einstein did to show the World it could get
Free Energy, Electric from the SUN. PHOTOVOLTAICS

You ask this question to any Military general 95% of them will get it right.
Even more surprising 99% of them will know more about Archimedes then most
Teachers on Earth. Generals know Energy is the key to Winning.

At almost one thousand to one Archimedes always won against what all knew was
impossible odds. Archimedes home town city of Syracuse was victorious against the
greatest Kingdoms Armies on earth many times. Syracuse once was one of the most
    powerful cities in the World.

I can only ask you to please look into Solar Energy, Solar Power, Solar Panels
and Solar array on the internet under Images. To see and explore for your self
    then you be the JURY.

More then 10 years ago the Internet became most of the World’s Universities
Learning Platform. A Modern Day Archimedes Resource Center.

The Solar Energy Industry in the year 2010 has leaped ahead farther and
faster then any other industry on Earth. The Solar Industry in the
United States of America alone, has grown by more then 50% in 2010 and it looks
like that number will go up even higher this year 2011.

The strong benefits of Solar Energy is Clear Clean Air viewed in major cities
as improving air quality. Clean Cities. By all that use there brain for good .
View it as protecting the environment and Freedom from OIL.

While the Federal Government has eased the Tax on Renewable Energy till the end
of this year 2011. Some cities in the states that these Legislators come from have
    worked against these tax credits.

By doing so they are showing their true objectives. That they have
stock in some power plants and do not want to lose all that Money they
have been taking out of your pocket books for too many years. By taxing
you on your Energy Bills. They want to Control Power and Tax Everything
they can. Not let People be free to get their own power from the top of
    their own roofs.

By adding their own taxes to them. These wicked leaders think that
this will take away the incentives to harvest the Free Energy from the

The Public ability and awareness for all on Earth to use the Natural
Solar Energy, is Contributing to Production of Solar Energy Products.
Making the Solar Energy Industry the fastest growing on Earth. A Wealth
of Free Energy From The SUN.

The more the wicked try to slow the Solar Energy Industry down, it only Enhances
involvement and the efforts of the Good at Heart.

My Hubson and myself with our little dog are homeless sleeping in our truck in Maryland my Hudson works every day not real healthy those and everyone turns away that they have no problem calling police but won’t asked why we are sleeping in our truck we can pay rent but none will rent to us we have a judgement against us I wonder why people are so heartless and uncaring about other we ate willing to work toward rent pay a little rent no one cares

    • Ricci

I’m so sorry. I do understand. I also have a cat that I’ve had ten years. my dad is keeping her for now but it’s so sad. so very sad. and you are right. people really don’t care at all.

  • Holly

My mother was injured in the line of duty, took 8 years to finally receive compensation (very small compensation). She and I purchased a small piece of land with an existing mobile home on the land. The financing was through the seller not a bank. We were promplty harassed and threatened physically by neighbors who disapproved of the fact that my mother’s source of income was disability. We were always on time with the mortgage payment, always kept the property neat and tidy, but that didn’t matter. For 3 years we tried to stay with our property. But the harassment and physical assaults and vandalism became too much. We put the property up for sale and left. The property was on the market for a year and kept getting vandalized as reported to us by our real estate agent. It became too expensive to pay storage, rent space in an rv park. It was a total loss. This happened in 1996 – 1998. The hatred toward Americans on disability is downright obscene and unconscionable.

  • Holly

addendum to my post: it became too expensive to continue paying the mortgage, home owners insurance And rent in the R.V. park (we thought this would be temporary until our property sold),and storage for our furniture.
So the property was ultimately foreclosed and sold at auction.
I am still amazed by the efforts of neighbors to interfere with our home ownership, even going as far as calling our mortgage holder!

    • Michael

      That is horrible Holly.

I hope that you all will be okay.

It really is heartbreaking to read what is happening to so many of the readers.

Are we witnessing the latter days, of the world’s greatest, and the world’s last, greatest Caucasian Empire? Did the 1950’s in America look like this? Did America really build Oldsmobile’s, Packard’s Hudson’s, Desoto’s Pontiac’s, Nash, Mercury’s, kaiser’s, Monarch, Edsel’s, or was this whole era only a childhood dream I had? Did WOWO Fort Wayne Indiana really have a 50K AM transmitter, was the Rock and country music I heard at my home, just a figment of my mind? Did Bethlehem Steel really exist? Was Detroit, Motown, only in the comic books, like Super man? What happened to Gary Indiana? Big Steel there? Did Chubby Checker really “Twist Again”? 59 dodge wagons have greatest fins ever, and still durable 6 cylinder engines? Evinrude, Johnson outboards really make molded plywood boats fly? Could American made Mercury outboards out-run all contenders? Were Smoke Stacks really a sign of prosperity for all. even the doctors the lawyers, the druggists, the businessmen who depended on labor’s generous paychecks for survival? What of the notion taught in the high schools of the day, that saved money in local bank accounts would double in value in “Seven Years”? Somewhere along the way, we lost even the 45 rpm “singles” Pop songs for less than a buck! Many of us collected those. Where did all the old clapboard farmhouses with huge barns, chickens in the yards go? All to China? with all our dreams? I think not! America evolved away from herself in the 60’s through to today. but how, that is the question, and where can we find the road back? Or can we?

    • WM

Uncle B: That was a great post. You must have lived in that era. I am only 45 years old but really love the 1950’s America. I have a lot of old stuff from that era that I use every day. I try to buy old American products instead of Chinese made crap. I have old fans and lighting that we use every day, and it was cheap (cost) and works great.
I try not to romanticize that era, but I do really love the music, style, and those cars!!!!

Sadly, I personally think this is the end of America. It is simply following the path of human history. Empires rise and they fall…nothing lasts forever. This is because of human nature and mans lust for greed and power. As this wonderful site has enlightned us all by documenting how much we are losing in this nation. Manufacturing is almost all gone here, and government control is getting worse and worse. I don’t think anything will change it, all hope is lost…unless people who live here get together and become united to force change in our government, and I don’t mean in the ballot box. I would love to see how my vote rerally makes a differance, I don’t think it does. It is all in control of the global elite.

I am not advocating a revolution, but I think that may be the only thing that would actually work. The key for me is that WE MUST COME TOGETHER AND BE UNITED IN CAUSE, like the people here did in the 18th C. I have said it before. I know many immigrants who seem to be here for a while for the opportunity to make money and then after they have made their money, will go back to their country. Can we really rely on or expect these people to unite for the cause of saving America?? I personally don’t think so. This is really not their country. Most immigrants I know are not here for the long run, just a “visit” to make money, send it back home and then go back to their country to enjoy the fruits of their labor. And, before anyone rebukes me for being racist, my wife is from Peru, and I know many Latinos and these people are very dear people indeed. I am just writing what I have observed in regards to people being united in the cause to REALLY change America.

  • Yep. Start buying and storing food while it’s still cheap.

Yeah, store food at higher prices now, like Twinkies and Jell-o, rather than buying books on gardening so you can grow your own. You should be telling people to sell their homes and buy a few acres outside of town and putting a trailer or prefab home (and getting extra jobs, taking in borders, whatever they need to do to PAY IT ALL OFF) rather than storing food.

  • The most important thing, I beleive, is for people to remember a song lyric that reaches the heart:

:What if God was one of us, just a stranger on a bus trying to find his way home?” Where is our compassion? What if that were you and your family that had lost everything? What if we all would recognize that often despair comes not only from one’s situation (no matter what caused it) but the attitudes and actions of onlookers. Onlookers should be, in my opinion, DOING something to help make things better. NOT a hand OUT, a hand UP.

I am feeling an extreme need to speak out and do something to be an example of what it CAN be if you simply get in touch with our compassionate hearts and find a solid way to help change this… what good is leaving $ to our children when we die if we destroy the potential quality of life that should be available to everyone?

Doesn’t most crime and despair and drug abuse come from unhappy circumstance and situation? Rarely does despair come from innate feelings. It is circumstances and poor choices and “bad luck” that create that environment of despair…

let’s all do our personal part to make this a better world– or our legacy to our children and grandchildren will be nothing more than hypocritical rhetoric, or as many say, politics as usual. How can we say “it’s not your responsibility” if someone’s life is in despair!

I belive we are a family of man, and if one of us suffers or doesn’t “have”, we all should feel a deep longing to continue to help, rehabilitate and lead by example. THAT is a legacy that our children can pass along to their offspring and contribute to a future worth living and sharing. Otherwise, man does not deserve to survive….

pretty sad when you need to convince people to respect unfortunate people by telling them that they might be homeless sometime. because people dont give a ********** unless it might be them. thats how self centered and evil people are.

  • But one thing is for sure…..God didn’t bring me this far to drop me. I may be sick. I may be homeless. I had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. So I started writing music. Hopefully one day I can sing about having a home surrounded by family and some miracle cure for lupus. A girl can dream, right? I have my education and my dreams and no one can take those away.

  • GM

Sad but true. Those with jobs don’t have a clue as to what is going on around them and they’re as evil as snakes towards the no-longer-haves. A couple of the congregants at my church asked for prayer for jobs and the pastor said that their condition was probably a result of not being right with God. I don’t go there anymore.

I wouldn’t say Americans “enjoyed” their unemployment benefits. They were just relieved to have something coming in.

  • Thissalantine

My heart breaks for these people, it genuinely does, and I am sorry for all of them that what I experienced so many years ago is now so common in America. It’s sad to see so many suffering the way I did. Let’s hope there’s more people to help than there were when my family and very life was ripped apart by heartless soulless neighbors, the church I approached for help, the social worker who took my children and cited poverty as an excuse to do so.

  • Richard

My heart goes out to each and every person out there in crisis.
A short story: I was walking out of the grocery store and was approached by a woman raising money for the homeless. When I asked her the name of her organization, it turned out it was 30+ miles away! I asked why? She said people living in this county were receptive, caring and listened to her.
In her county, she was treated rudely, horribly!
My county happens to be officially listed as 1 of the 10 most affluent counties in America. Her county can be characterized as having many people 1 paycheck away from homelessness.
It appeared to me [a big generalization based upon this one conversation]the closer people are to losing everything, the nastier they become thus the communities outlawing homelessness and destroying camps.
[we also have homeless people in this county – god bless and care for each and every one of them. They are part of my community and not to be forgotten.]

  • Thissalantine

I hope people listen to this: Storing food is just silly. Seed for growing will ALWAYS be available, so unless you stock up on Twinkies, storing food is just dumb. Growing food is easy, and easy to learn if you don’t know how. There are about a million (or more) articles on how to online. Smart money says get a second job and pay your house off. Not down, PAY IT OFF so it can’t be taken. Plan on relatives joining you, too, when they lose their homes. My in-laws are on the verge of losing their home. Fortunately for them, my husband and I have been planning for that to happen for 5 years, and are now in the process of buying them a home. We also have formed a company so that my father-in-law will have a good paying job when he and his wife arrive. I realize everyone was living high ten years ago, and I am sorry so many have lost so much, but now’s not the time to give up, it’s the time to work harder, pay off bills, quit eating out, cook at home, start a vegetable garden, get a second job, CIRCLE THE WAGONS. The rodeo’s just begun, folks, and those of you who are prepared will not have to worry about tent cities.
