Russia seems to be a rational country that wouldn’t do anything dramatic. They have always been in competition with the leading superpower. Eg France, German, and America. Russia has always been a strong country, the people are resistant and can tolerate hardship. But they will not wage war only when cornered, history states this. Napoleon and Hitler.

This is just not factually correct. The United States exports more oil than it imports. We have the largest natural gas reserves on earth. Our population is increasing and our debt is decreasing. We control all the oceans of the world. Our technology is second to none. Russia would like to build two aircraft carriers, we presently have over a dozen. Russians are dying out because of the low birth rate and high death rate. They are 142 million and we are 300 million.
