Speed limits are set far too low. Not only are they too low, they were set when vehicles were less safe and lacked the majority of safety devices we take for granted today (i.e. seat belts, electronic stability control, far better suspension and control, etc). Here are some statistics for those police that keep calling this a safety concern: The last time speed limits were raised, "Statewide fatality rates decreased 3-5%" across the country (1). I bought the car new the Infiniti dealer in Richmond 6 years prior. (as it turns out that dealer got it from a FLA dealer). I am now trying to decide what to do. The fine is $30 + $64 processing fee). The statuate reads" Any person or firm who applies sun-shading or tinting films that reduce light transmittance to levels less than allowed...shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdeamonor" My point is that I did not apply anything, I merely bought the car and proceeded to drive it for 6 years!
