The slide into third world status of this country is a plan of the Illuminati. As long as America was strong, it would resist the global government these criminals have been trying to set up, for years.
This is a planned take down. When people get so desperate, hungry,& cold, their resistance will be down, and they will embrace the New World Order, simply because they have nowhere else to go.

Baby Boomer, It pains me to say your post is so true on so many levels. Me and my family have also been affected by the march to socialism by the Progressives in Government. Also the march too a New One World Socialist Governing Body and Currency. I believe that would be the Builderberg Group! The people of this country need to wake up' and fast, before it's too late! If it isn't already? If it wasn't for friends, Me, my Woman and three Sons would be? This is all by design people, do not claim Left or Right, do not squabble about petty issues the media brings up to devide you! We need to stand together and in November elections, the slate needs to be wiped clean in Government! No matter the party affiliation, Everyone gone! Only then can this country start to rebuild what they have destroyed...

What exactly is it that a 'righteous' leadership will do that hasn't already been done? Are you ignorant to the fact that the last President was extremely Christian and prayed for guidance on a number of issues? Did it ever occur to you that an oft overlooked Christian 'value' is that of poverty? (for some) A true Christian would embrace the hardship(keep voting republican) as a test from God and use their newly found free time (unemployment) to get a closer personal relationship with God. (In the dumpster/cardboard box)

Historians like to say the last Great Depression came to an end because the government intervened in the economy and got things rolling again.

This is bullocks. By the mid to late 1930s things were getting worse, not better. Establishment historians usually gloss over the reality that the country was on the verge of a social revolution. If you really want to know what happened, read Howard Zinn's History of the United States. There were sit-down strikes everywhere and a large number of people were involved in political organizing (granted, a lot of it was socialist and downright communist, but st the time that was the only viable political movement).

This scared the bejesus out of the establishment. So what did it do?

Got the country neck deep in the Second World War. That put an end to the social and political movements that threatened to overturn the establishment's apple cart. It also created the military-industrial complex. After the war, the establishment cooked up the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and dozens of other smaller, less known wars that kept the economy moving along for a few decades.

The government borrowed trillions from the bankers to keep the economy humming along, even though every now and then there was a mini-depression (we like to call them recessions). The whole thing was orchestrated by the Federal Reserve by manipulating the supply of funny money based on thin air.

So, what you are seeing now is the end of the scheme put in place at the end of WWII (they like to call it Breton Woods), although it was really created in 1913 with the creation of the Federal Reserve.

The Second Great Depression we are now entering was planned and executed by the bankers so they can clean the slate, grab everything of value up, and start over, this time with a world government and a world bank.

People need to organize politically like they did in the 1930s, but I don't see that happening. The Tea Party movement was a good start, but that got sold down the river to the establishment Republicans in record time. The establishment is real good these days at undermining political movements.

Joe Stack flying his plane into an IRS building and the mental case shooting Pentagon cops yesterday are but samples of things to come as people get more and more frustrated and desperate. Expect more violence. Expect draconian government reaction in response.

Hate to say it, but our days are numbered as a nation. We are headed for third world status, mostly because the vast majority of Americans are incapable of doing anything about the situation. 50 years of television and bread and circuses have taken their toll. People have been brainwashed to hate politics and embrace apathy.

Pogo said it best: We have seen the enemy and he is us.
