Chris, hi, my name is Chris also. I just read your post from a year ago on this site ( the one where everybody is contemplating the good and bad of leaving the country). I am 46 and sort of semi-retired. I operated and sold my roofing company of 23 years just six months ago. I have no wife or kids, and therefore no ties to this country and could relocate fairly easily if the country of my choice accepts my application. Anyways,. I am doing the research thing and am very seriously considering bailing the U.S. I was wondering what you have done since you wrote your blog, and do you have any advice?

Reading these posts that don’t answer a simple question about where else to live, crack me up. People have to put others down or start quoting the bible. Really??? Just because someone wants to move out of the country let’s lecture them, tell them to move to North Korea, call them cowards, or my favorite about the founding fathers not running or being cowards. Ummm, the people that came over here and took the land from the Native Americans didn’t work with them, they kill them AFTER they fled Europe to come over here because they didn’t agree with everything going on where they came from. Now we have Americans who severely abuse the freedoms we have.

If people (who you view are cowards) why not tell them another place to go (besides being an a$$ and naming places like North Korea). Just proves still how arrogant a lot of Americans are (the “we are better than any other country” mentality), you don’t want other people living here and you don’t want people leaving. Seriously, pick a side.

I’ve thought about moving too but mainly for a different experience but I’ll probably get crap for saying that too since god forbid someone thinks about leaving the U.S.

So many comments about “stay and fight”…

My ancestors came to the US from Holland, Scotland, Germany, and Ireland for two reasons: 1) economic reasons and 2) political repression (sound familiar?). By coming here they dramatically improved life for themselves, their loved ones, and future generations (now a group of people numbering into the hundreds). For that I’m eternally grateful. With the benefit of hindsight, to a person, any one of us in the family would tell them (if they were still living) they made the right decision and they should be proud. We would thank them for their courage to leave family, friends, positions, property, language and everything familiar in exchange for this. Yet some no doubt challenged this as unfaithful and cowardly.

Ironically my earliest ancestors arrived here and in fact did stay and “fight” in the American Revolution, no doubt reflecting upon the fact they had just gone through this process and seemingly ran out of good places to go in this world (which decades later is the subject of our discussion).

So here is my point. While stay and “fight” sounds noble, honorable, and courageous, in the most practical of terms it often ends up being the product of desperation (people who otherwise once had better things to do in life find themselves with no choices). This is something not the case at this moment, something which can be avoided, and something which should be avoided.

I am seriously thinking of Almalonga, Guatemala as a place to escape the coming collapse of the USA. Almalonga is a place of Christian revival, where God has done a miracle. The land was naturally arid, and very few crops grew. But, people turned from idolatry and turned to righteousness. God blessed this city with giant, enriched vegetables that are watered underground with steam (like in Genesis.) In a city like Almalonga, one can live with little money as food grows everywhere, even by the side of the road. I’m soon going to visit and hope to join USA missionaries in Almalonga. I hope to prepare a place for my married son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. I’m hoping to buy a house there. With the majority of the natives living as born-again Christians, I’m hoping to find Almalonga safer that the USA. I hope to find some Christian friends who will eventually be like family to me. If I remain in the USA, money in gold and silver will be difficult to use if the gold-exchange places are crooked and won’t give me what my gold is worth. I just sense a lot of danger coming to
the USA in the near futute, mainly caused by our corrupt law-makers who have bankrupted tax-payers by accepting bribes from rich corporations / bankers/ oil companies. The super rich and the poor no longer pay taxes. The only ones supporting the USA are middle wage earners like me. This house of cards will soon fall, and our corrupt government leaders will turn their guns on us when protests began. If our leaders had no qualms or mercy in their hearts for the millions of innocents they killed
in Vietnam, Iraq, Afganistan, Africa, Libya, Syria, what makes anyone think they will have mercy for poor Americans. These government leaders whose pockets are full of blood money,
want the poor out of the way. That’s why they pass laws to approve genetically-modified vegetables and poisonous anti-virus shots.
Their thinking is similar to Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Phillip, who made a public statement to the world: ” If I re-encarnate and come back to this world, I would like to come back as a killer virus to rid the world of poor people.”
The Bible says that Babylonia is the nation who has shed the greatest amount of blood world-wide. Does anybody know of any other modern-day nation, besides England and its extension, the USA who have killed more people world-wide?England got rich on every poor nation’s resources: India, Africa, middle east, etc. The USA (just an extension of bloody England), got started by committing genecide on American Indians. It never stopped. It attacked just about every South American nation to steal their resources. The USA has attacked Vietnam without provocation and had no qualms about killing 2 million people there. The USA stole resources and oil, in the past of countries, such as: Iran (where it installed the Shah of Iran- USA dictator), Philliipines, Iraq (2 million dead), Afghanistan, Libya (presently stealing Libya’s oil) , and now it wants to destroy Syria, with Iran being their next target. In the Book of Revelations,God says this about Babylonia: “Get out of her, my people, so that you don’t partake in the plagues I’m sending her.” The USA has about 900 military bases all over the world becasue it is heavily involved in the devil’plan of “The New World Order,” where it hopes to rule the entire world and steal all resources.
But, the USA is broke,and it won’t succeed in conquering other nations richer and stronger. It will only succeed in making American tax-payers miserable when the dollar dies, the banks close, the paychecks stop coming, the grocery stores close, and the American protests began. If the USA leaders have had no qualms about killing innocents in other nations, they won’t have any qualms about turning the guns on their own citizens. They already have Fema Death Camps and Fema Coffins ready for protesters in every state. I’m not buying a gun to protect myself against the USA government because I won’t win. Besides, I fear the Lord and I don’t want to kill anybody. As for me, the only solution I can see is to flee to a safer place.

Stewart Webb and Tom Flocco are lunatics that have been thoroughly discredited. Webb spent time in a mental institution and takes medication for his delusions, and Flocco…lol just read the titles of all of his work and you get the picture. No sale.

I like Costa Rico and Thailand. I prefer Costa Rico because it is not too far from the US so you could get back easier if you needed; crossing the borders between there and the US would be less difficult than most, and you could feasibly sail back.

Portugal! or Bulgaria? Decisions i have been trying to make, if I was to really think about all the various threats that seem to be approaching, what are the threats, Nuclear, biological, natural disaster definitely a financial collapse, flooding, drought, or war, Niburu entering our solar system?
I can’t make my mind up whether to cut and run or make some form of stand. I don’t know what the threats may add up to.
So every country has it’s issues and nowhere is safe only less safe or safer than some depending on the threat.
Right now I am deconstructing my old life and cutting free of the system as much as possible. I feel at the moment i need friends nearby, local knowledge, a deep understanding of the language to evade threats, somewhere to live away from large population and the necessary self suficient lifestyle needed to continue with or without government assistance.
I feel in the short term the financial crisis will hit first followed by many other events that will finally bring about the change. Learn to live with less now and do what you can to protect yourself here where you have a better chance of survival. Who knows eventually owning land anywhere or property might be taken away from us so is it wise to invest all your funds that could be used for self sufficiency, or protection.
We are all in the same boat whether we choose to see it or not, I think it is better to know your environment to survive in it. (more sense than money)
