This whole situation just leaves you stupefied, BP has failed in my opinion. They have no credibility left. What I find hard to believe is that a multinational cooperation like BP, with over a 100 years experience in the business, couldn't do more. Companies like BP really have gotten too much of our trust for too long. This is sad, so very sad. :( So many people have lost their livelihood because of this.

The situation in the Gulf will continue to get worse, and we who live the the Southeastern US need to prepare for the worst. While Obama plays golf, rather like Nero playing a fiddle while Rome burned, the US is being destroyed by the oil disaster in the Gulf.
So much for Hope and Change.

I suspect most American people are going to sit back and take it though. I'll be blown off of my tail if they actually do something about it. But I can only pray that they will.

If oil giants like BP are pushing around American citizens in their own country, and controlling the internet and media on what the public can see, just imagine what's being blacked out in Iraq and Afganistan.

Here's something interesting. Last week I heard about a new cleaning product on the radio - a non-toxic biodegradable cleaner / degreaser, totally plant-derived, made from leafy green vegetables, edible seeds and seed-bearing plants, and includes amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. It's called Bio Green Clean. And I thought it might be something our company could use, since we do a lot of petroleum-based cleanup operations, oil spill response, etc. So I called the president of this company to get more information. And I decided to try it out on a few projects at work.

And while I had him on the phone, I thought I would ask whether they had offered to try their product on the Gulf of Mexico cleanup effort. Boy, did I get an earful. They had been in contact with both BP and the EPA. Corporate officers from BP headquarters in Houston had responded quite rudely to him and clearly had no interest in his product. They even left weird voice mails from phone lines that were disconnected minutes after making a call, so that he could not return the call. Pretty odd stuff.

He also spoke with the EPA, but was told that his product would have to undergo toxicity testing before it could be approved for use, which could take months. This was interesting for two reasons: 1) The product contains no toxins, no ammonia, no peroxides, no hydrocarbons, no dyes, perfume, bleach, or any other harsh chemical found in most cleaners; and 2) the EPA did not require testing on the poisonous dispersants that BP has been dumping in the Gulf, which is probably more harmful than the oil.

Now, of course, I'm no longer surprised by the fact that regulators have been in bed with the despoilers for a long time. What does surprise me is that neither of them seem interested in finding solutions to this disaster. Even if they don't care about the ecosystems that are being destroyed, they both are in need of some good p.r.

Also, I heard recently that 80% of our oxygen comes from the ocean. Don't know if that's true. I always thought most of it came from the rain forests. But either way, don't worry too much about saving the planet. After humans are gone the planet will be just fine.

I'm not sure which is the biggest disaster. Oilbama or the Gulf.

That 52% of our voters voted for a child of Indonesia with no resume and no leadership skills, a Muslim, still has me drooling and talking to myself. The next 2.5 years cannot get here fast enough for me. Suing Arizona and golfing every day.

Send us a hero. It's gonna take years to undo the crap and damage this guy is causing. If this is the product Harvard produces, I'll happily pass.

Last week, I contacted a detective at the local sheriff's office RE: some dope dealers behind my house. He said he'd come to my house, and call first, but did NEITHER. Have'nt heard a word since.

Arizona had to pass their controversial laws to attempt to dissuade the invasion of our homeland on the Mexican/American border, because, the Federal Government won't lift a finger.

Now, the 'OBAMA Administration' is such a joke, everyone just feels a sense of helplessness when America seeks help with the BP OIL SPILL.

What does it mean? It means, we, the people, must take the law into our own hands. There is no help any longer from the police (who joined in the looting in New Orleans), from Government (Colorado, California et. al. in bed with the drug dealers), etc. WE MUST NOW ENFORCE THE LAW, OURSELVES!

I am an American, and I can tell you that my countrymen are, on average, too simple-minded, too frightened and too shallow to grasp the logic in this piece. Our father's generation would have taken up arms against BP mercenaries in the gulf, but this generation is mentally and spiritually broken. Sorry to say it, but we all know it's true.

But rather than becoming more open and taking responsibility for their actions, BP has now hired private security contractors to keep the American people away from the oil cleanup sites.

"In other words, BP has brought in a horde of private mercenaries (just like the U.S. uses in Iraq and Afghanistan) to muscle the American people around.

Yeah, we are really going to appreciate that.

Doesn't BP understand that the American people do not respond well to this kind of nonsense?"

Really? Are you serious? What is Good for the Goose is Good for the Gander. When you allowed your people to strong arm the people in Iraq and Afghanistan, I did not hear your protest. Yes, unlike BP, you did not call them "Small people". Instead, you broke into innocent peoples homes, and shot them down like Pigs, at the merest suspicion.

I pray that God bestows many more BPs on the Americans.--- and Yes, I am American, but will call for justice, where it belongs.

Rodger... just for your info... a jury did decide that Heywood was guilty and he was sentenced to die by a judge with all the facts/evidence in the case...

BP is from a country that has bent over backwards trying to cater to muslims who have now taken over their country. They protest British soldiers and spit on them in the streets.

Those at BP forget where they are. Despite the fact that 51% of our ignorant population voted a socialist into office, most of them have woken up and have joined those of us who do not appreciate being kept from the truth. Thanks to obama, a sleeping giant has awoken and we DO NOT put up with that crap anymore. We want the truth and BP can only hide it for so long. We will find out.

I loved this article, as it shows many how the UK works and expects it's subjects to bow down without protest. We are not "subjects" we are "citizens" and I would think the States would be able to override BP rules on their own beaches and the US government within 12 miles of our water border.
Yet our government is not doing it...and losing the TRUST of it's citizens.

BP was one of Obama's biggest contributors.

At the BP/Obama meeting, BP was represented by long time Democrat, Jamie Gorelick. She was on Frannie Mae's board and was paid 5 mill a year, for four years. She also was the lead investigator of Janet Reno's Waco burn down, and found nothing.

And as always, everywhere, BP retained Goldman Sacs.

Pre meeting there was a chance that BP could lose 90 billion, but with the 20 billion slush fund agreement ( not all at once, paid in dribs and drabs, mostly by insurance. Maybe AIG. ) BP is near in the clear, financially, and the White House has a 20 billion dollar slush fund.

Hope and Change! .....and now we return you to coverage of the Presidents golf outing.....

Even conspiracy theorists have to be right sometimes. And I'm turning into a bigger one everyday. It wouldn't surprise me, therefore, if the whole BP leak was engineered to, in cahoots with the Obama administration, further the goal of enhanced (read that 'forced') alternative energy usage. BP was, after all, Obama's largest big oil contributor during his presidential campaign. BP was, as well, one of the first proponents of clean energy for the sake of rectifying the now much discredited climate change situation. Furthermore, BP acquiesced all too quickly (in a 20-minute meeting) to the administration's extortion of a $20 billion clean-up fund that won't even cap at that amount. If BP doesn't have something to gain through this whole mess, then it's hard to imagine how it could have gone along with the administration's extortive demands and how, even now, it continues to work against its own (apparent) best interests in cleaning up the mess. Who died and left BP King of the Gulf? Why, the American people and their constitutional republic, that's who. We're in the process of seeing yet another crisis present opportunities for Obama's agenda and if anyone can't add up those data points, then it won't be possible for people to add up the rest of it. Even when all of our resources and freedoms are gone.
