I guess I don’t understand the intent of some of these statistics. If black people aren’t graduating high school what does that have to so with anything? If they wanted to graduate they would stay in school. If they stayed in school they could get a job. If they had a job there wouldn’t be as much crime.
It’s not a black thing but as you’re using African American statistics I feel like that is fair to say. The quickest way to improve your life is through education. If you’re not educated, your life will suffer a bit more.
It doesn’t even have to be book smarts. Get yourself educated in a trade. Stay off drugs.
There are reasons for these statistics.
Our town has a 1% black population and there are only a few who are hard working professionals. The rest live in the impoverished areas. But I can remember going to school with the kids. They skipped out, told off the teachers, were frequently on drugs and didn’t do their work.
There were lots of white kids who did that, too.
At what point does your life become your own choice and not a product of your race/culture/upbringing.
If you wish for a different life, will it and it will be so.
