Los Angeles Police Urge Residents ‘To Protect Themselves’ As Violent Crime Skyrockets

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Crime Headlights - Public DomainAll over America, rates of violent crime are absolutely soaring.  As you will see below, violent crime overall shot up by 20 percent in Los Angeles last year, and the police are telling people that “they need to be able to protect themselves” because the police may not be able to get there in time when they call.  Thanks to deep budget cuts, police departments across the nation are already severely undermanned, and our major cities are now seeing crime rates increase at a pace that we have not seen in ages.  In a previous article, I encouraged my readers to focus on the five basics of preparation – food, water, shelter, energy and self-defense.  Of those five, it is often self-defense that is the most neglected.  When bad people break into your house in the middle of the night intending to do bad things, what are you going to do?  Many of us have not had to think about that for a long time, but now conditions are rapidly changing in America.

If you don’t believe me, perhaps you will believe the head of the union for the LAPD.  According to him, people living in L.A. “need to be able to protect themselves” because the police “can’t guarantee we’re going to get there in time to help you”…

The citizens need to know they need to be able to protect themselves because if they call 911, we can’t guarantee we’re going to get there in time to help you,” says Police Protective League President Jamie McBride.

He told Paige that Thursday morning between 5:30 and 10 a.m., there were just three patrol cars assigned to the West LA division. Two cars to protect more than 200,000 people in a 65 square mile radius.

“West Los Angeles, at the minimum, should have seven patrol units, two-man units working,” McBride said.

Have you ever been to Los Angeles?

I have, and even in the best of times it can be quite a mean place.

And of course these are not the best of times.  In fact, the overall rate of violent crime in the city was up by 20 percent last year…

Crime is up across the board in the nation’s second-largest city.

Statistics released Wednesday by the Los Angeles Police Department show that homicides and rapes are each up 9 percent and that robberies are up 13 percent. Violent crime overall increased by 20 percent.

Perhaps you are tempted to think that L.A. is just an anomaly.

Well, let’s go from the second largest city in the country to the third largest city in the country.

There were 51 homicides in Chicago last month, which was the highest total for the city in at least 16 years.  Sadly, this is just a continuation of a trend that has been going on for quite some time.  The following comes from USA Today

Chicago routinely records more homicides annually than any other American city, but the grim January violence toll marks a shocking spike in violence in a city that recorded 29 murders for the month of January last year and 20 murders for the month in 2014. In addition to the jump in killings, police department said that it recorded 241 shooting incidents for the month, more than double the 119 incidents recorded last January.

The rise in violence comes after the Chicago Police Department reported 468 murders in 2015, a 12.5% increase from the year before. There were also 2,900 shootings, 13% more than the year prior, according to police department records.

Some of the crimes that I have been seeing in the news lately are almost too horrible for words.  If reading about acts of violence deeply troubles you, then you might want to stop reading this article right now.  I want to share with you something that recently happened in New York City, and it is the kind of stuff that nightmares are made out of

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio on Sunday denounced the rape of a woman by five men at a Brooklyn playground, pledging police would work to swiftly apprehend the suspects in “this vicious crime.”

Police said on Saturday the men took turns raping the 18-year-old woman at the playground operated by the New York City Parks Department in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn just after 9 p.m. on Thursday. One man pointed a gun at the father and told him to leave, police said.

After the father left, the men each assaulted the woman, police said. They fled when her father returned a short while later, accompanied by two officers.

One rapist is bad enough, but how do five young men come together and decide that they are going to randomly rape someone?

To do something so despicable your heart has got to be hard as a stone.

What in the world has happened to the morality of our society?

And to me, one of the biggest questions of this entire story is why the father decided to walk away from his daughter.

If I was in the same position, I would have stood my ground.  Maybe those young men would have shot me, but there is no way that I would have ever let them have my daughter.  They would have had to go over my dead body to get to her.

But this is what we are told to do today.  We are told to let the criminals do whatever they want and then call the police.

Unfortunately, now the police are openly telling us that they probably won’t be able to get there in time to do any good.

As the economy slows down, crime rates are going to go even higher.  When unemployment and poverty rise, people get desperate, and desperate people do desperate things.

We all need to start thinking about how we are going to protect ourselves and our families during the hard times that are coming.  Different people have different methods that they prefer, and that is okay.  But we are all going to have to start taking security a lot more seriously.

Of course the preps will become the targets… they have the goods, the governments and desperate peoples wants.

  • MIchael in Chicago

No decent education system. No jobs. No unskilled jobs that pay a living wage. The death of worker unions. Soaring college fees. Millions of illegals pouring in from our southern border. Millions being flown in from the middle east. America is a land without any hope and is slowly be made into a third world hell hole.

    • Mike Smithy

      Turd-world hell hole.

That’s a rather haughty thing for Michael to say considering that he has no children.. but aside from that point, it would likely have resulted in Michael being dead, his daughter having seen him be killed, and his daughter raped anyways.
It’s just so easy for Michael to take the proud stand, isn’t it.

        • afchief

Ahhh the nutty lunatic-left d-cRAT socialist extremists ALWAYS claim that EVERYTHING THEY WANT in their perverse, warped ideology is a “basic human right” that MUST be supported by all without question or debate and MUST be funded from “other peoples’ money” like

          -“FREE” contraceptives
          -a college degree for everybody
          -unlimited taxpayer funded abortions
-“FREE” diapers (I’m not making this up !)
-gay marriage (next up: human-animal “marriage”)
-a house (regardless of whether you can afford it)
-unlimited left-wing extremist propaganda radio and tv from PBS and NPR
-an eco-nut extremism car for everyone
-all slugs, slackers, deadbeats, liars, freeloaders, losers, taxpayer-leeches, cheats, ILLEGALS and potheads are entitled – as a “right” – to wealth and income re-distributed from people who work hard.
-“free” healthcare (under BIG GOVERNMENT/DEATH PANEL control)

          etc.

FACT: all of these absurd, BOGUS “RIGHTS” are invented from the depraved, vile, warped minds of leftist ideological extremists and have no real basis or validity in the natural world.

          • Rick

They don’t live in a natural world, they live in the satan worshiping world of Revelation 13…

          • Wedge

amazing isn’t it? Tell you the rights they wont have, when the shtf, and they are wondering the streets ofr crumbs, they wont have a right to my stuff, tell you that much. freeloaders are the norm now that lazy uneducated liberal nutbags have out numbered the hard working, morally centered people in this country

          • NGN

too late. its already here chef

          • afchief

Ahhh, but only in 3 states where they voted for it. The SCOTUS does not make or strike down laws. Only Congress can do that. Until Congress amends the Constitution, there is NO federal law for butt sex marriage.

          • Gay Veteran

“…The SCOTUS does not make or strike down laws….”

moron, bet you feel the same way about laws banning interracial marriage

          • afchief

More proof that homosexuality IS a mental disorder!!!!!!

Courts also have limited power to implement the decisions that they make. For example, if the president or another member of the executive branch chooses to ignore a ruling, there is very little that the federal courts can do about it.

For example, the Supreme Court ruled against the removal of the Cherokee from their native lands in 1831. President Andrew Jackson disagreed. He proceeded with the removal of the Cherokee, and the Supreme Court was powerless to enforce its decision.

The federal courts’ most important power is that of judicial review, the authority to interpret the Constitution. When federal judges rule that laws or government actions violate the spirit of the Constitution, they profoundly shape public policy. For example, federal judges have declared over 100 federal laws unconstitutional.

            http://www.ushistory. org/gov/9e.asp

          • Gay Veteran

awwwwww, what’s wrong, you still upset the Supreme Court overthrew those miscegenation laws?

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Lesbians have lots of good reasons to marry. Take you for example.

          • Scott Comin

No your judgement is! It’s biological.

          • afchief

It’s disgusting behavior that kills a person’s soul. It is evil!!!

          • Gay Veteran

your soul (along with your brain) is already dead

          • Steeve Girard

The is a old Pagan concept dating to Greek antiquity that I will quote here: “All possibilities happens everywhere, at the same moment, but yet each of us, can only see one happen when look at.” And that was before Einstein! Damn those Greeks were bright people before they got screwed by the Romans and the Christian Church.

          • afchief

Well don’t forget Newtons 3rd law of liberalism:

If you believed in making the world a better place, you and other liberals would stop breeding!!!!

          • GSOB

…..a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; …..

          • Gay Veteran

partial hardening? send them some Vi agra

          • Gay Veteran

wow, the STOOPID is strong with you!

            “…gay marriage (next up: human-animal “marriage”)….”

right after you explain how animal gives consent, moron

“…propaganda radio and tv from PBS and NPR….”

hey, Einstein, SIX corporations control over 90% of the media here

          • Mike Garland

“SIX corporations control over 90% of the media in America” this correct and we the people let it happen. We refuse to defend our rights any longer. Our elected Government is a sham. Hope and change. We got change alright, but in my opinion not much hope. Nobody needn’t worry though; there a whole hell of a lot more change coming!

          • Scott Comin

            Yes

          • Edison Frisbee

So you’re OK with “human-animal marriage ” if we can substantiate Fido’s consent? That’s the problem you see with it?

          • Gay Veteran

uh, no, but I guess I need to explain to you that right wing types love to bring up human-animal marriage but never explain how the animal can give consent like a human can

          • Edison Frisbee

You are missing the point of the comparison. Marriage has as its end procreation under natural law – this is where homosexual relationships fail. If marriage (and sex) is simply about feeling good and pursuing individual happiness, then under that way of thinking, why isn’t it permissible to “marry” an animal? Simply because we can’t confirm the animal’s consent?

          • Gay Veteran

using your “logic”, the elderly and infertile couples should be denied the right to marry! why don’t you go up to an infertile couple and tell them that? hopefully you’ll be missing a few teeth afterwards

and again Einstein, your type NEVER explains how an animal (or a child) can give consent.

          • Edison Frisbee

Calm down Fruity…..straight (i.e. normal) couples, even if infertile, are using their sexual faculties as God intended. Homosex is incapable of procreation – the very act itself is a perversion of nature and simply amounts to a disordered use of sexuality – just as bestiality is (which why my “type” doesn’t put thought into figuring out how animals can give consent).
Did you get “consent” from the cow before eating your last hamburger?

          • Gay Veteran

            oh Eddie, now you’re backpeddling!

            what was it you wrote?

oh yeah, “…Marriage has as its end procreation under natural law….”

so again, using your “logic”, the elderly and infertile couples should be denied the right to marry!
and “perversion”? bet you got all excited typing that. your type thought it was “perversion” for the races to inter marry
and your type always jumps to bestiality, says a lot about how you think

          • Edison Frisbee

“Marriage has as its end procreation under natural law”……just as the sex organs purpose is for procreation…..which is why homosexual pseudo-marriage will never be moral – it is simply incapable of reaching that end by its very nature. Infertile couples are not deliberately nullifying the purpose of the sex act – it is beyond their control. Do you oppose bestiality or think it immoral? If so, on what basis?

          • Gay Veteran

oh my, you need to move to a place where people agree with you…….try Saudi Arabia you ayatollah wannabe.

I smell the stench of a person (catholic?) who wants to dictate how other people live.

You obviously have never read “On Liberty” by John Stuart Mill:

“…society does not have an interest in those aspects of life that affect no one but the person acting, or only affects people by their consent. Mill writes that such behavior should be both legally permitted and socially accepted. People should encourage others to make full use of their faculties. They should not, however, try to keep a person from doing with his life what he wishes. Mill justifies this position by observing that anybody else’s interests in or knowledge about a particular person’s well being is “trifling” compared to the individual’s own interest and knowledge….”

          • Edison Frisbee

I don’t think you’ve read Mill either….unless he writes about himself in the third person…..who’d you lift this from?

          • Gay Veteran

            sparknotes’ review of On Liberty

          • Gay Veteran

It’s obvious you have never read “On Liberty” by John Stuart Mill:

“…After laying out the major issues, Mill then turns to what he calls “the object of his essay.” He writes that he will argue that the only time individuals or society as a whole can interfere with individual liberty is for self-protection. Mill states that the argument that a certain law or public opinion might be for an individual’s own good or welfare does not suffice to justify that law or public opinion as a coercive force; coercion by the many toward the individual is only acceptable when an individual poses a threat to others. It is fine to argue with a person about his actions, but not to compel him. Mill writes, “Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign.”…”

          • Edison Frisbee

Right, because the homo lobby never forces anyone to do something against their liberty, like baking a cake for example….
Please answer the question: Is bestiality immoral? If so, why?

        • Wedge

exactly the type that commits these crimes, the uneducated, ignorant name calling little twit, that is patiently waiting by the mailbox for my money to arrive so you can sit and live fat off our dime I’m sure.

      • Gay Veteran

hey Einstein, BOTH parties supported “free trade” and the shipping of MILLIONS of American jobs overseas

        • Paul Patriot

True, but, NYC is one of many democrat toilets, that is very very strict on gun laws…..mmmmmmm…

Strange how the bad guys always seem to have guns to impose their evil on the helpless citizens.

After democRATS impose draconian gun laws on responsible citizens, they then create a protectionist culture, brainwashing the sheeple to believe that the “state” will always be there to protect them from bad guys, all in the form of dialing 911 and waiting for the boys in blue to come to the rescue.

Well, the folks (city folk) that allow leftist, anti-Constitutional politicians to rule, (almost always DEMOCRAT) , basically are bringing this upon themselves.

The big cities run by democrats are not friendly places to be when bad people decide to do evil.

          • Steeve Girard

That depends on community, some big cities have the will to override authority. But some are lost causes like: Detroit, LA, NY Long Island.

          • Gay Veteran

and what are your republicans doing about it? hmmmmmmmm

BOTH parties support empire abroad and the national security/surveillance state at home

          • afchief

You truly are a blind liberal. Democrats have controlled inner cities for decades and have turned them into welfare cesspools. Places like Detroit that are progressive hell holes. Why? Here is what brought Detroit down:

1 – Unions, unions, unions, unions…blood sucking unions.

2 – Democratic government greed, as long as they got paid and bribed by the Unions!

Didn’t Obama say if I had a city it would look like Detroit! LOL

It is truly breath-taking the twists and turns these cretins will take to avoid the truth.

The entire population (whatever race) that buys into that way of thinking KEEPS the ONE population chained to dependence, victimization mentality and an absence of hope, independence and self-reliance.

          • Gay Veteran

as usual you totally ignore the FACT that MILLIONS of American jobs were shipped overseas by corporations.

and your limited intelligence cannot deal with the fact that the top 0.1% used democrats/republicans and liberals/conservatives to keep us divided.

and boy do the top 0.1% appreciate a good little sheeple like YOU

          • Cambridge101

Your sexual perversion and sin has made you blind to the Truth. When God calls you into account for your actions, you will have no excuse. You need to repent and to accept Jesus Christ’s free gift of forgiveness and salvation before it is too late.

          • Gay Veteran

bet you got all excited typing “sexual perversion”
now don’t you have a street corner to pray loudly at?

          • sistersoldier

This is our street corner! Mr. Sodomite! You servant of wickedness and perversion!

O’ wretched, foul and unclean spirit of Jezebel who loves to cast men upon their death beds and reunite them in hell…. You will bow down and you will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord whether it is in this life or the next! He is Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and the End, The First and the Last! The RIGHTEOUS JUDGE. Repent for the day of the Lord is at hand and no one will escape His righteous judgment. Who shall be able to stand in His Holy presence?

          • Scott Comin

He will be in heaven Jesus will say I didn’t know you

          • sistersoldier

Of surety you speak the truth. Such a reprobate mind and a sorrowful shame for anyone to be so blind.

          • Gay Veteran

poor Scott, keep on believing your fairy tales

          • VigilanteCaregiver

“This is our street corner! Mr. Sodomite!”

I guess that went over your perverted spirit so let’s try this again:

Knowing this that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for manstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.

Silly Mr. Packs the Fudge who has no understanding of economics. If you really want jobs and lots of them and a healthy growing economy and to help the poor, cut corporate taxes to ZERO! We have the highest corporate tax rate of any industrialized nation in the world. And who pays the corporate taxes anyway? WE do, the consumer pays the corporate tax every time they buy something, because all costs of doing business get passed along to the consumer, they have to, or you wouldn’t be in business very long. If you took the corporate tax to zero you would see business expanding and hiring almost overnight creating millions of jobs in this country and getting rid of unemployment. You would even create a situation where there are not enough people to fill all the jobs available and companies would have to start increasing pay to compete for the people they need. Lots more people making lots more money will buy lots more stuff creating the need for even more employees for companies. This will also bring in lots more income tax and sales tax for the government. Problem solved!

          • Gay Veteran

“…We have the highest corporate tax rate of any industrialized nation in the world…..”

AS IF corporations actually pay that rate. And you’re ignoring countries like China where our corporations ship jobs because of near slave labor wages and NO environmental laws.

I’m sure you want a zero corporate tax rate, just like you want to continue tax cuts for the top 0.1%. And the result? mega-corporations and the top 0.1% BUYING politicians, thus creating crony capitalism

          • afchief

Yes, more proof that Packing Fudge is a mental disorder!!!!!

          • Mark

Yes, but when our liberal socialists imposed high Corp taxes, over regulation, corruption in unions, and total liberal left wing policies that have driven governments to over spend us into debt I do not blame companies to move overseas. Blame that on liberal politics. Yes both parties are to blame but it was liberal progressive politics that is destroying our once great nation. Obummer is a by product of what has evolved since the 1960s when Marxist influence penetrated our institutions of influence such as colleges & universities, media, our judicial system, and government. Read Marx and understand the social and economic theories he was trying to influence on the masses. I had to learn this in college and while finishing my MBA. Capitalism is a wonderful thing when implemented properly. When you mix socialism and government corruption you get crony capitalism. Food for thought for all those little Marxist that think everything is free from the government. It’s not such as Obummer care which has cost working families thousands more a year. The economics does not work.

          • Gay Veteran

wow, “liberals” did this all by themselves, eh

guess no republican ever supported any of those policies, like “free trade”

and just ignore near slave labor wages and NO environmental laws in countries like China

“…Capitalism is a wonderful thing when implemented properly….”

well the key word is “when”

          • Mark

And your solution Einstein is Marxism. NOT….There is nothing wrong with free trade as long as the it is implemented properly. Its been done for thousands of years such as what the Egyptians, Greeks, and Phoenicians accomplished with great success. However, what hurt us was leaving China dictate the free trade policies due to our debt we owe them and the amount of products produced and sold here which is wrong but again you cannot have your cake and at it too. Plus the UN is worthless and should be abolished. As I mentioned from above in my last statement over regulation, over taxation and limits on business will drive them to other regions/countries. I will agree that both parties have contributed to the problem but you are not listening/reading to what I was saying. I said liberal politics and not Democrats. Food for thought, if our government did not over spend on all the socialism that was created by progressive socialists such as entitlements, welfare, Obama phones, and free stuff we would be in better shape and not in debt. Let me educate you in a little history….Remember the LBJ programs (Great Society) of the 1960s. A total failure based on bringing the poor out of poverty through government socialized programs such as welfare, section 8, and food stamps. These were implemented in the inner cities and targeted especially towards minorities. What it created was more poverty, more ghettos, more crime, and MORE GOVERNMENT SPENDING. It also made the poor and minorities more dependent on government and socialism while destroying the education system and dumbing society. This has totally ruined our urban society as this article states. Again, you can always find the S**T source of any problem and it goes right back to socialism. One last example, remember the fair housing act of the 1970s. Liberals demanded banks make loans to low income and minorities that could not afford a home. Many banks were forced to change business strategies to accommodate more government intervention. As a result the government created Freddie/Fannie and this became the beginning of the end of true home ownership. Lets subsidize loans to people that cannot afford homes. All those wishie washie loans such as FHAs and assumable mortgages created huge artificial bubbles for years and it exploded in 2008/2009. Most of the borrowing damage happened the late 1990s and early 2000s. As you can see everything comes back to government. However my friend I can say thank you for your service to our country and you are entitled to you opinion. Free speech and ideas are a wonderful thing.
            God Bless.

          • Gay Veteran

“And your solution Einstein is Marxism….”

            really?!?!?!?!? nice strawman you built

“…Food for thought, if our government did not over spend on all the socialism that was created by progressive socialists such as entitlements, welfare, Obama phones, and free stuff we would be in better shape and not in debt….”

we have the warfare/welfare state, and it’s interesting you ignore the “warfare” part

“…Again, you can always find the S**T source of any problem and it goes right back to socialism….”

explain our wars of aggression then

“…All those wishie washie loans such as FHAs and assumable mortgages created a huge artificial bubbles for years and it exploded in 2008/2009…..”

just ignore all the non-banks that were giving out loans to anybody who could fog a mirror.
            just ignore the Wall Street banksters and their massive FRAUD [try reading some Karl Denninger on the subject, and he ain’t no socialist}

matter of fact, let’s compare websites we read. mine:

You are correct in saying that Both parties worked in tandem to destroy America.
We have one party, the uniparty and it is quite literally them against us.

        • FortuneSeek3rz

Already had this discussion with you. Show me a LINK where there weren’t millions of jobs shipped overseas BEFORE NAFTA.

Tel me what the fundamental difference is between a middle class American bargain shopping at the Dollar Tree and a corporation shopping around for the cheapest labor.

Please show the data the says the rate of jobs that were outsourced
is neither correlated with nor caused by the advent of the information age (internets, PC, automation, etc).

I’m still waiting for your responses on both of these issues which you tend to ignore in favor of more whining.

          • Gay Veteran

hey Einstein, YOU are the one defending “free trade” agreements which has resulted in MILLIONS of American JOBS being shipped overseas.

now go back to licking that corporate boot while the American middle class is being DESTROYED

          • FortuneSeek3rz

You still didn’t address any of my points.

hey, tell us all about the latest employment numbers. all those HIGH paying jobs being produced……..NOT

          • FortuneSeek3rz

4.9 percent unemployment. Glad you asked. Chronic complainers would still rather complain than actually work for a paycheck.

          • Gay Veteran

            4.9%?
            jeez, are you that stupid?!?!?!?!?

          • Gay Veteran

            4.9% unemployment?!?!?!?!?

and you believe the government LIES???????

            from Paul Craig Roberts:

“….The reported unemployment rate of 4.9% is misleading as it does not count discouraged workers. When discouraged workers are added, the actual rate of US unemployment is about 23%, a number more consistent with the decline in the labor force participation rate. In January 2006 the labor force participation rate was 66%. In January 2016 the labor force participation rate is 62.7%.

The government has a second official unemployment rate that counts short-term discouraged workers (discouraged for less than one year). That rate, known as U-6, is 10%, twice the “headline rate” which is always the U-3 measure that excludes all discouraged workers not currently looking for a job….”

That was one of Obama’s campaign promises, to turn the US into a third world country

Ayyyy, an Obummer lover. Did you say this when Bush was in office????? Oh, you need to change the picture. A blood sucking liberal is not the best thing to advertise.

          • Mark

Oh, 9 out 10 businesses fail. Also you need capital startup which can be quite difficult if you do not qualify for a loan. Oh by the way the top 15 professions that are projected to be in demand are all physicians type fields such as surgeons, family doctors, dentists, orthopedic docs, anthesiologists, pediatrics, pharmacists and etc. all require a college degree from a respectable school and requires $100s thousands in cost. Over priced education is not the problem. It’s what is in demand and economics. True, you do not need a high priced college education and believe the real reason college costs are high is because of the Federal Gov’t giving out generous student loans to anyone and artificially driving cost out of control. Kind of like what the Fed is doing with QE and artificially blowing up the stock market which will collapse in a year after the election. Our politicians have to save a@s before S@@t hits the fan. Now get rid of the picture before I drive a stake through it.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You don’t need tons of money to start a business, and you don’t need to be a doctor to make it in the world.
I have my own profitable business and it’s low budget. If I can do it, anyone can.
You SISSY BOYS are always looking for a hand out.

What is your business???? Hummm SunnyFla I would guess you live in Florida. Well there is a lot of seashells and drugs in Florida so I would guess either you sell drugs or sell seashells at the seashore. Which one is it??? You know the sun is more intense in Florida so I would guess you creep crawler vamps try to stay out of the sun.

          • Mark

Ahhh, the internet business industry where everyone can get rich. What do you peddle on the internet?? Halloween costumes???? Maybe Vamp paraphernalia??? Most likely a retail site….. I know people in that biz and I have heard good and bad. If people continue to get laid off and the labor participation rate keeps getting worse how are those customers going to pay for all this stuff. We already have a debt and credit crisis of over 65 trillion. Report came out this week that there was 72,000 jobs eliminated in retail and energy for January 2016. 230% worse than last year January 2015. Retail sales posted disappointing numbers which included internet sales. I don’t know Dracula you may have to resort to blood sucking it out of the customers. HA HA. Good luck because Obummer is always looking for a new business to overtax.
            Sincerely,

Thanks to Obamadinajad and liberals. The Dem’RAT algorithm is simple:

      If it moves, tax it.
If it keeps moving, regulate it.
If it stops moving, subsidize it.
And when the inevitable collapse occurs, nationalize it.
Socialism is a merciless jihad against humanity, and Dem’RATs are just socialists hiding behind the L-word.

Today’s liberalism, like its Bolshevik socialist and national socialist ancestors, is essentially a primitive counter-Christian religion whose core tenet is the rejection of the existing social structures of the family, private property, and Christianity.

Quite an interesting way to say it, but not only is it anti-Abrahamic, it is also anti-Pagan, it’s anti-main stream religions. Because of the anti-social behaviors it promotes.
        .
Family values, respect of elders and ancestors, is not exclusive to the Abrahamics.
        .
The proper term to describe it would not be “counter-Christian”, it would be anti-life (in all it’s forms). Any attempt to create lines of separation, will lead to this.

Ahhh, and now the view from the liberal mind: La la la I live in a fantasy world. 0bama is God. We should all live in peace and harmony. Wheeeeeee lets print more currency and borrow more money. The government is not compassionate enough–we need more and more spending. If we give poor people everything for free it will help them. Hillary will make a great President. Taxes are too low–we need to raise them to stimulate the economy. We need open borders. Barack 0bama is a very macho masculine man. The Democrats really want to help people. Liberals are very wise. We all need to be more compassionate, empathetic, and tolerant. I love Piers Morgan. Rachel Maddow is stunningly beautiful and smart. We should all get together for a big global “group hug” to solve the problems of the world. We need more protest marches for PEACE. Karl Marx and Saul Alinsky were just trying to help poor people. Our Constitution is obsolete.

Capitalism is man taking care of himself in a competitive but predominately cooperative market system. Capitalism breeds independence, interdependence, personal responsibility, freedom, etc.

Socialism is the government micromanaging the details in everyone’s lives by means of taking from those who have and distributing it in a very unproductive way to those who don’t have so much. Socialism breeds corruption, laziness, oppression, etc.

Democrats covet the money and possessions of those who have more than they, and latch on to terms like “old white men”, “1 percenters”, and “the rich” to demonize them. Basically, they have succumbed to greed and envy and vote for Liberal politicians who promise to redistribute wealth. Granted, they are not as guilty as the leaders, but they are enabling the pillaging of future generation’s wealth so they can live at a level that they haven’t earned.

Capitalism: the Worst System — Except for all the Rest

            By Noel S. Williams

The only capital democrat presidential candidates respect is political capital wrought from pandering. Newsflash: capitalism is still the best system for organizing economic life in a free society.

Liberals talk about the anger of the right, but Clinton, the very embodiment of ugliness and anger, could barely bring herself to support capitalism in a faux debate, waffling some platitudes about supporting small businesses. In an interview just last week, she couldn’t even elaborate on the difference between a democrat and a socialist.

Bernie Sanders comes across as an angry socialist curmudgeon full of resentment towards American spirit and ingenuity. He seems to attract misfits from the discredited Occupy Wall Street movement, but you’d never know that many of our 99 percenters would be in the top percent of income earners worldwide. Economic mobility fluctuates, but there’s still more of it here than anywhere.

America is exceptional, the Nordic region mostly homogeneous and unexceptional; nevertheless, Sanders would rather emulate Denmark, not much bigger than his own small state of Vermont, and hardly a beacon of diversity. Scandinavia is not the cradle-to-grave paradise portrayed by socialists, and doesn’tr provide a desirable model for future prosperity in the rest of the world. Furthermore, much of the wealth they now redistribute was created before their inglorious bout with Third Way socialism. Indeed, Sweden dropped from the fourth richest nation to the 13th during their “Third Way” socialism experiment between 1975 to mid-1990s. Since then, they’ve veered towards the center-right, detailed by the Economist in “The strange death of social-democratic Sweden.”

Socialists sometimes revert to industrial policy to garner support for government intrusion into free markets. Industrial policy is essentially sector-specific government intervention to pick winners and losers. It sometimes works when immature industries prevail with scant competition abroad, such as when Henry VII imposed tariffs on wool exporters and granted temporary monopolies to cloth manufacturers to encourage the development of domestic industries.

I suppose there have been a few other successes since good Ol’ Henry carried the scepter for the Tudors, but not many. Again, the Economist corroborates this supposition in a 2010 article entitled “Picking winners, Saving Losers”:

“Industrial policy remains controversial. Defined as the attempt by government to promote the growth of particular industrial sectors and companies, there have been successes, but also many expensive failures. Policy may be designed to support or restructure old, struggling sectors, such as steel or textiles, or to try to construct new industries, such as robotics or nanotechnology. Neither tack has met with much success. Governments rarely evaluate the costs and benefits properly.”

Government interference in markets to create Keynesian-style demand often focuses on general needs; but free-market, supply-side dynamics produce specific goods and services that often foster new markets. Consider the world’s largest company: Apple. There was a potential, nebulous market, but the public wasn’t exactly clamoring for the first iteration of specific products like iPods, iMacs, iPads and iPhones until after they were created. Perhaps you remember some of those Apple product launch extravaganzas where the rather tech-savvy audience salivates in geeky excitement as heretofore secret product features are finally revealed by Steve Jobs or his brilliant engineers. How could there be stimulative demand for something secret to the general public? It was supply-side innovation that lead to such remarkable growth and productivity gains that is has a measurable impact on the U.S. economy.

One example of successful government economic stimulation that socialists point to is the Internet. It wasn’t actually invented by Al Gore — another angry and pessimistic democrat — but evolved from the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. ARPANET, the first network to implement the now ubiquitous TCP/IP protocols, was funded by the DOD. It’s somewhat analogous to government building highways along which interstate commerce can transit; indeed, an early moniker for the network that connects computers worldwide was Information Superhighway.

But just as interstate highways create the potential for commerce, the Information Superhighway was laden with untapped potential. An inconvenient fact is that it remained a relatively quiet backroad riddled with government potholes and virtual bridges emerging into a cyberspace void. Thanks to private industry, it became a dynamic, digital Route 66 where ingenious entrepreneurs got their kicks engineering a robust network of speedy off-ramps and byways leading to bustling e-commerce and social media outlets.

Government did what it’s supposed to do — supply the public infrastructure. But thanks to private-sector innovation we now have an online shopping day named Cyber Monday and an ever burgeoning Internet of Things to remotely manipulate our household appliances and tell us when the fridge is low on milk or the dog went in the corner.

Just as government control has an inverse relationship to personal freedom, socialism, ensconced in snail-paced bureaucracies that forever validate Parkinson’s Law (work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion), has an inverse relationship to innovation. Examples abound, but sticking with the tech theme, consider Wi-Fi.

Nearly every modern gizmo has the ability to connect to the internet using this wireless technology. For those who frequent airports, popular coffee shops and hotels, it seems that every device under the sun is connected simultaneously, creating bottlenecks. Enter Globalstar, a company that provides mobile voice and data communications services through its network of satellites and ground stations. Their satellite spectrum is next to the Public Wi-Fi Band, and real-world tests and affidavits indicate that when it is deployed in what’s known as Terrestrial Low Power Service that it increases Wi-Fi capacity by a third or more.

The delay: the FCC, who’ve had the TLPS proposal under their purview for over three years. Rather ironic, since Chairman Wheeler has noted how “regulatory delay plus burdensome red tape slowed the speed of innovation” which restrained investments in the communications sector. The reasons for the FCC’s deliberative process are manifold as they entertain every conceivable and frivolous objection from competitors. Our airwaves need regulation, but three years… and counting, for a promising technology like TLPS (supported by public advocacy groups and the former Executive Director of the National Broadband Plan) wreaks of crony capitalism protecting entrenched interests.

We know that capitalism does not always further the public good; but socialism, in all its guises, is downright antagonistic toward competition and meritocracy. Karl Marx once said that religion is the opium of the masses, but as throngs of naïve youth jump on the Sander’s bandwagon, I’m thinking that socialism is the opium of the millennial masses. Controlled by indulgent emotions rather than their brains, they dispel history’s empirical evidence, believing that Bernie will finally usher in a socialist utopia.

These disaffected youth disrespect the intellectual property rights that reward risk takers who produce the products they adore. Their dogma is so strong they are oblivious to the reality that Marx’ prediction “from each according to their ability to each according to their needs” went horribly wrong. Let’s hope their brains kick in before they get the government they deserve: a socialist dictatorship of, by and for the proletariat.

Capitalism is far from perfect, but instead of sowing the seeds of its own destruction as Marx’s historical materialism predicted, we’ve tweaked around the edges to ensure a flexible, long-enduring system that is much more aligned with human nature, freedom, and economic growth. Researchers from the Heritage Foundation expounded on the relationship between freedom and capitalism, noting: “The correlation between economic freedom and prosperity is stunningly high,” more freedom means more income.

By contrast, socialism compels bigger government and less freedom. When Obama was busy redistributing our wealth, even querying how much money anyone really needs, he infamously said “You didn’t build that!” If Sanders or Clinton get their way, you probably won’t build much again. It seems they’d rather we all be equal in poverty.

If what you say is true, then the great depression should have been the most violent time in American history. It was not. Might I suggest that you stop blaming circumstance and put the blame on the real causes: no God, no moral compass, a culture that glorifies violence, a sense of entitlement and, bottom line… the fallen nature of man.

“Slowly”? The evidence would suggest we are there or at least past the tipping point in many places, if not overall. For example, the most populous state and bell weather for the nation, California. It went from being one of the most reliable and conservative voting pattern states to, unless there is some kind of targeted disease that hits third world parasites, to a place with no realistic hope of redemption and a drag on the less parasitic places.

New Orleans, parts of Houston, Tampa, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, etc. has turned into a third world slum. The ones coming from the Middle east will migrate to enclaves forming groups that will be training camps for terrorism. America is trashed big time. The EU is under a form of shiria law now, soon to become a caliphate under Muslim rule. No real men (many go out in public wearing skirts) in the EU, few if any take a stand. Will real men here stand up when society breaks down? I suggested on a foreign web site that each country with the Muslim issue needs to form militias to keep law and order as local police refuse to act or arrest rapists or other criminals.

Why do you think that the Democrats are so eager to legalize illegal immigrants? Because it’s a win-win situation for them. The immigrants will vote for them because they are getting jobs, and the blacks will vote for them because they are unemployed, and can’t get a job. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) argued, “75% of the problems of the black community are self-inflicted” and “the other 25% are inflicted by the Democrat Party with their modern liberalism

What good are worker unions when companies are closing down businesses because the economy is going into the crapper? Higher wages, guaranteed vacation time, smoke breaks, and so forth, just aren’t going to help US businesses survive when they’re competing against slave labor in China.

Now, if those same worker unions were to vote for people who would tariff the hell out of Chinese imports and repeal NAFTA, GATT, TPP, etc… and who would stop the massed waves of Mexicans swarming over the border and who would stop giving out vast numbers of visas to Indian computer programmers….

Instead, the worker unions support, wait for it, Hillary! And all other establishment hacks as long as they meet the main qualification for union support – they must be Democrats!

I think one of the best investments I made was to install a home security system with an on sight very loud intrusion alarm tied to monitoring.

99% of home break ins will be deterred either by exterior lighting, signs of alarm protection and lastly by an audible alarm announcing his entrance.

If the person continues to enter after these deterrents, I feel use of lethal force would be justified by almost any one.

My wife (and me) have loved the secure feeling it gives when we are home. I do not care to much what happens when we are not home.

    • Philosopher

I think it is sad that you think you need that type of system to live wherever you live. I have never had an alarm system. I would move if I thought I needed one.

If we had a real leader to set an example things would be different. The one we have is an imposter to begin with, a hypocrite that can’t be trusted, and a poor example of someone who exemplies true American values. Until he is replaced America is doomed.

No amount of leadership can repair the system, we are running out of cheap energy to run the system. But have a leader ready to lose the next election to hammer the reality on it’s citizens would one day be remember as a leader who told the truth, and might set on example on having tougher leaders. But no!!!!!! People will continue to elect leaders who offers poison candies.

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

“Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.…

You get everything but a flag…..

          • Gay Veteran

you do know that George Washington was a Mason.
there’s a Masonic memorial to him in Alexandria, VA

          • ONE WHO KNOWS

I’m surprised that more people do not know that fact. The founding father’s were Freemasons. In the Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia area you can spot freemason symbolism all throughout the metropolitan area.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Yes I know that but not 33 degree….you can’t serve two masters……

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

This gets boring for me……NOT 33 rd degree masons……blah blah blah you people talk like you know but you don’t…

One does not serve two masters….

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Ok enough with your BS…..I was out of town on biz and just looked at this blog.

None of you know anything….. mason is a secret organization and in certain areas so secret that even the members up thru 32 degree do not know or understand WHO they really are serving. Upon reaching 33rd degree you are shown who your master is Appolyon( Greek) or Abbadon (Hebrew).

Up til that point you can be donating, doing charity work, and being an asset to your community in the Mason name. Which many many are doing good work.

But unless you reach 33rd degree you are a babe in the woods and just oblivious to the TRUTH. In many states only a few ( 1 or 2 ) are 33 rd degree and for good reason.

So what degree mason were those founding fathers that were masons….I do not know and neither do you….you can see mason symbolism in Maryland, DC, Virginia etc …that means nothing.

There were only a handful in all the original colonies who knew The TRUTH and they were the 33rd degree masons. GOT IT.

          • Gay Veteran

riiiiiiiiiight, lots of words but no proof

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

There are many degrees of freemasonry and only the 33rd degree mason knew the truth of who they were serving GW was not a 33 rd degree………….the masons do much charity work….the Catholic Church has always been against masonry.

So what is the problem…..you bring this in like maybe we needed an exorcism.

GW lived his life based on Biblical values…..

          • Gay Veteran

What a flock of BS you are……

          • Gay Veteran

when Deists use the term “Creator” they do not mean a “god” who intervenes in the affairs of man

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

GAY VETERAN…..Deist comes from Deus which in Latin means GOD…

GOD INTERVENES by giving us unalienable rights……

            Which come from our CREATOR…

          • Gay Veteran

            deism:

“The belief that God has created the universe but remains apart from it and permits his creation to administer itself through natural laws. Deism thus rejects the supernatural aspects of religion, such as belief in revelation in the Bible, and stresses the importance of ethical conduct.”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

THEY MEAN A GOD who intervened to give us our unalienable rights…..the worst part of debating with an idiot is those listening may not know the difference…..this is boring….stop working so hard at ineptness it comes easy for you.

          • Gay Veteran

hey Einstein, the word you need to use is “theist”, not “deist”.

            Deism means:

“The belief that God has created the universe but remains apart from it and permits his creation to administer itself through natural laws. Deism thus rejects the supernatural aspects of religion, such as belief in revelation in the Bible, and stresses the importance of ethical conduct.”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The founding fathers were deists you said and I showed you that is wrong because GOD / CREATOR ( in their words) intervened/gave us unalienable rights.

Better yet go back to the bar and bother some drunk if he s drunk enough the two of you can get back to God is not mentioned by founding fathers. They were so much smarter that you…. they only used only CREATOR knowing full well that the CREATOR is GOD and people like you would at some point in future use valuable oxygen and waste peoples time as you redundantly try to take the Creator out of the document.

          • Gay Veteran

did I say ALL the Founding Fathers were deists???

and when deists talk of “god” or “the creator” they do NOT mean it the same way YOU mean it.

            so AGAIN, Deism means:

“The belief that God has created the universe but remains apart from it and permits his creation to administer itself through natural laws. Deism thus rejects the supernatural aspects of religion, such as belief in revelation in the Bible, and stresses the importance of ethical conduct.”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Because a deist could not be part of the declaration as CREATOR /GOD intervened and gave us unalienable rights……ethical conduct without an absolute is ABSOLUTE BS lol….

          • Gay Veteran

absolute? absolute BS in view of the EVIL done in the name of your “god”

          • awb22

in your backtard world, maybe, turning the truth into a lie. where have we heard that one before?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Creator GOD intervened by “giving us unalienable rights “……how do Deist Founding Fathers put in ink the opposite of Deism……so there may have been a Deist amongst the founders ….. or two but not enuff to take out the word CREATOR.

          • Gay Veteran

find “god” in the Constitution yet?

            how about that religious oath?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The word God is a title like general/captain. Zeus was a God , Allah is a God…but the Creator has a name and it is YAHWAH.

Yahwah knew the deceit of man that was to come upon this once great USA and only allowed the founders to use Creator….lol sooooo smart.

            ha ha

          • Gay Veteran

            BINGO!!

          • Gay Veteran

guess you aren’t aware of deism:

Deism thus rejects the supernatural aspects of religion, such as belief in revelation in the Bible, and stresses the importance of ethical conduct.”

            study history

deism = The belief that God has created the universe but remains apart from it and permits his creation to administer itself through natural laws. Deism thus rejects the supernatural aspects of religion, such as belief in revelation in the Bible, and stresses the importance of ethical conduct.

          • afchief

You are quite the liar! Judeo-Christian values are a major part of the intrinsic foundation of Western culture, as they were at the Founding of our nation. Christian values, especially, have contributed disproportionately to the legal protection and respect for the Individual Person, rather than the collective state or a tyrannical leader. 0bama and his fellow Socialists want to change that. In the long term, they WILL FAIL.

          • Gay Veteran

tell us how Judeo-Christian values formed the Constitution.

“…Judeo-Christian values are a major part of the intrinsic foundation of Western culture, as they were at the Founding of our nation….”

            yes, slavery

          • afchief

Silly Mr. Packs the Fudge who has NO idea of our history!!!!

The Bible, Slavery, and America’s Founders

            Stephen McDowell – 2003

America’s Founding Fathers are seen by some people today as unjust and hypocrites, for while they talked of liberty and equality, they at the same time were enslaving hundreds of thousands of Africans. Some allege that the Founders bear most of the blame for the evils of slavery. Consequently, many today have little respect for the Founders and turn their ear from listening to anything they may have to say. And, in their view, to speak of America as founded as a Christian nation is unthinkable (for how could a Christian nation tolerate slavery?).

It is certainly true that during most of America’s history most blacks have not had the same opportunities and protections as whites. From the time of colonization until the Civil War most Africans in America (especially those living in the South) were enslaved, and the 100 years following emancipation were marked with segregation and racism. Only in the last 30 years has there been closer to equal opportunities, though we still need continued advancement in equality among the races and race relations. But is the charge against the Founders justified? Are they to bear most of the blame for the evils of slavery? Can we speak of America as founded as a Christian nation, while at it’s founding it allowed slavery?

Understanding the answer to these questions is important for the future of liberty in America and advancement of racial equality. The secular view of history taught in government schools today does not provide an adequate answer. We must view these important concerns from a Biblical and providential perspective.

America’s Founders were predominantly Christians and had a Biblical worldview. If that was so, some say, how could they allow slavery, for isn’t slavery sin? As the Bible reveals to man what is sin, we need to examine what it has to say about slavery.

          • Gay Veteran

hey Einstein, your bible couldn’t even condemn slavery in terms that no one could manipulate.

your “god” ordered the murder of babies, so I won’t be taking any lectures on morality from the ignorant likes of you

          • GSOB

The slavery mentioned in the Bible does not support your misplaced argument.

Bottom line, sin is everyone’s master.

Only the Lord can save you from it’s penalty and power.

            Only He.

            Galatians 2:20, 21

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

“I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”

          • Gay Veteran

hey Einstein, Southern slave owners USED the bible to justify slavery.
that’s a fact, deal with it

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Without the Judao Christian values we would never have made it 230 some years but now that we have no values…we are toast !

You cant see it cause you are in the toaster.

          • Gay Veteran

            Judeo-Christian values like slavery?

one can be moral without “god”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Man you are boring…..one needs an absolute to be moral the absolute is Creator/God. Without God moral can one year mean this and next year mean that….just like we got know….into oblivion.

Otherwise you have a moral code by man and that can be changed on a whim.

For instance…. “slavery” if in the USA a movement was started to bring back slavery under democracy if 51% voted it back SLAVERY would be the law of the land. But under our Republic we have unalienable rights given to us by Creator/God that can only be taken away by GOD.

You just dont get things…plse go back to the bar.

          • Gay Veteran

absolute? like absolutely NO total condemnation of slavery in the bible.

like bigots using the bible to justify Jim Crow laws?

            you just struck out

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Which means God…………I see the same loser flagged ya ha ha what a joke.

          • Gay Veteran

            again, deism:

“The belief that God has created the universe but remains apart from it and permits his creation to administer itself through natural laws. Deism thus rejects the supernatural aspects of religion, such as belief in revelation in the Bible, and stresses the importance of ethical conduct.”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Deism from Latin Deus which means GOD.

The Creator ” God ” “INTERVENED” and gave us unalienable rights.

I know that is a difficult concept for you to grasp.

          • Gay Veteran

oh my, you’re totally ignorant about deism and American revolutionary war history.
try reading Tom Paine, especially The Age Of Reason

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

You are so blinded by Satan I might as well have discourse with the three stooges….. • Gay Veteran

You are so blinded by your own ignorance, thinking that the Founding Fathers thought the same way

          • awb22

            hmm, projecting, again

          • Gay Veteran

any mention of “god” in the Constitution? hmmmmmmmmm

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

No and by design…..numbnuts like you who just spout and spout but have no understanding/knowledge just how smart/guided the Founders were….

Word God not used because it is a TITLE like general and many times this word is used… like ZEUS was a God and ALLAH is a God and the founders were given spiritual guidance not to use this word. Our Creator has a real name and it is Yahwah .

Right from The Bible…….oh why do you cringe so lol.

          • Gay Veteran

“…and the founders were given spiritual guidance not to use this word….”

wow Billie, you’re grasping at straws! You have been harping on and on and on about “the Creator” being in the Declaration of Independence BUT yet the very same Founding Fathers said NOTHING of “the Creator” in the Constitution, AND no religious tests for public office

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The declaration gave us UNALIENABLE RIGHTS.

The constitution is not about our rights as those came from GOD.

          • Gay Veteran

oooooooooooh, just ignore the Bill of Rights in the Constitution.

and who knew “god” gave us the VI Amendment:

“In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed….”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

American Presidents Affirm that America is a Christian Nation

With his statement, President Barack Obama became the first American president to deny that America is a Christian nation – a repudiation of what made America great and a refutation of the declarations of his presidential predecessors. Notice a few representative statements on this subject by some of the forty-three previous presidents:

The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were. . . . the general principles of Christianity. 13 JOHN ADAMS

[T]he teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally….impossible for us to figure to ourselves what that life would be if these teaching were removed. 14 TEDDY ROOSEVELT

America was born a Christian nation – America was born to exemplify that devotion to the elements of righteousness which are derived from the revelations of Holy Scripture. 15 WOODROW WILSON

American life is builded, and can alone survive, upon . . . [the] fundamental philosophy announced by the Savior nineteen centuries ago. 16 HERBERT HOOVER

This is a Christian Nation. 17 HARRY TRUMAN

Let us remember that as a Christian nation . . . we have a charge and a destiny. 18 RICHARD NIXON

There are many additional examples, including even that of Thomas Jefferson.

Significantly, Jefferson was instrumental in establishing weekly Sunday worship services at the U. S. Capitol (a practice that continued through the 19th century) and was himself a regular and faithful attendant at those church services, 19 not even allowing inclement weather to dissuade his weekly horseback travel to the Capitol church. 20

(The fact that the U. S. Capitol building was available for church on Sundays was due to the Art. I, Sec. 7 constitutional requirement that forbade federal lawmaking on Sundays; and this recognition of a Christian Sabbath in the U. S. Constitution was cited by federal courts as proof of the Christian nature of America. 21 While not every Christian observes a Sunday Sabbath, no other religion in the world honors Sunday except Christianity. As one court noted, the various Sabbaths were “the Friday of the Mohammedan, the Saturday of the Israelite, or the Sunday of the Christian.” 22 )

Why was Jefferson a faithful attendant at the Sunday church at the Capitol? He once explained to a friend while they were walking to church together:

No nation has ever existed or been governed without religion. Nor can be. The Christian religion is the best religion that has been given to man and I, as Chief Magistrate of this nation, am bound to give it the sanction of my example. 23

President Jefferson even closed presidential documents with “In the year of our Lord Christ” (see below).

Even President Jefferson recognized and treated America as a Christian nation. Clearly, President Obama’s declaration is refuted both by history and by his own presidential predecessors.

          • Gay Veteran

you need to read up on Jefferson, he didn’t believe in the fairy tales in the bible.

and no mention of “god” in the Constitution.

and what did the First Amendment say?

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….”
            hmmmmmm, religion, NOT christianity

          • Steeve Girard

Darn I was hoping Bill and Alchief were bright enough to get this one out… but oh well…. guess someone had to say it… thanks a lot Gay Veteran.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Why dont ya flag yourself lol what a joke one is light in the slippers and the other is not from US but spouting about Constitution, Dec of Independence and both are GOD detesting and on a Christian based blog….ya gotta just laugh and sets the bar for losers..

          • GSOB

Is Jefferson now your idol to protect you?

The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

          • Gay Veteran

the only one here with an idol is you.

now tell us all about the polygamy in your bible

“…And while Grotius and Newton were fervent Christians, as was almost everyone in their epoch, the 18th century, starting with their premises, easily fell into deism, in which God, the great “clock-maker,” or creator of this universe of natural laws, then disappeared from the scene and allowed his creation to work itself out.

That is a lie!!!! The USA was founded on Judea-Christian concepts, despite the far-left’s talking points. When the first people from the European Continent stepped foot on the New Land, they were escaping from the Church of England.

They weren’t free to hold different beliefs than the beliefs of that Church. What was common among them, was the Ten Commandments. No Islam, Buda, or whatever, was present in the early formation of this Nation.

We do know the founders were men of conviction and morality, and for this reason they would still abhor even the idea of homosexuality much less be for marriage between two people of the same sex. If you think otherwise, you are delusional. In fact, they would be horrified we’re even having this conversation. In their time, the topic of homosexuality would be whispered among themselves, if at all, and certainly with no ladies present.

Christianity has always been the prevalent religion of this Country. The majority of our Laws are based on Christianity. There is a big difference between those who follow Christ, and those who follow Mohamed.

The Judicial Branch Affirms that America is a Christian Nation

From the Judicial Branch, consider first some declarations of prominent U. S. Supreme Court Justices regarding America as a Christian nation.

Justice Joseph Story (1779-1845) was appointed to the Court by President James Madison. Story is considered the founder of Harvard Law School and authored the three-volume classic Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833). In his 34 years on the Court, Story authored opinions in 286 cases, of which 269 were reported as the majority opinion or the opinion of the Court 31 and his many contributions to American law have caused him to be called a “Father of American Jurisprudence.” Justice Story openly declared:

One of the beautiful boasts of our municipal jurisprudence is that Christianity is a part of the Common Law. . . . There never has been a period in which the Common Law did not recognize Christianity as lying at its foundations. . . . I verily believe Christianity necessary to the support of civil society. 32

His conclusion about America and Christianity was straightforward:

In [our] republic, there would seem to be a peculiar propriety in viewing the Christian religion as the great basis on which it must rest for its support and permanence. 33

Justice John McLean (1785-1861) was appointed to the Court by President Andrew Jackson. McLean served in the U. S. Congress, as a judge on the Ohio Supreme Court, and then held cabinet positions under two U. S. Presidents. His view on the importance of Christianity to American government and its institutions was unambiguous:

For many years, my hope for the perpetuity of our institutions has rested upon Bible morality and the general dissemination of Christian principles. This is an element which did not exist in the ancient republics. It is a basis on which free governments may be maintained through all time. . . . Free government is not a self-moving machine. . . . Our mission of freedom is not carried out by brute force, by canon law, or any other law except the moral law and those Christian principles which are found in the Scriptures. 34

Justice David Brewer (1837-1910), appointed to the Court by President Benjamin Harrison, agreed. Brewer held several judgeships in Kansas and served on a federal circuit court before his appointment to the Supreme Court. Justice Brewer declared:

We constantly speak of this republic as a Christian nation – in fact, as the leading Christian nation of the world. 35

Brewer then chronicled the types of descriptions applied to nations:

We classify nations in various ways: as, for instance, by their form of government. One is a kingdom, another an empire, and still another a republic. Also by race. Great Britain is an Anglo-Saxon nation, France a Gallio, Germany a Teutonic, Russia a Slav. And still again by religion. One is a Mohammedan nation, others are heathen, and still others are Christian nations. This republic is classified among the Christian nations of the world. It was so formally declared by the Supreme Court of the United States. In the case of Holy Trinity Church vs. United States, 143 U.S. 471, that Court, after mentioning various circumstances, added, “these and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation.” 36

Brewer did not believe that calling America a Christian nation was a hollow appellation; in fact, he penned an entire book setting forth the evidence that America was a Christian nation. He concluded:

[I] have said enough to show that Christianity came to this country with the first colonists; has been powerfully identified with its rapid development, colonial and national, and today exists as a mighty factor in the life of the republic. This is a Christian nation. . . . [T]he calling of this republic a Christian nation is not a mere pretence, but a recognition of an historical, legal, and social truth. 37

Justice Earl Warren (1891-1974) agreed with his predecessors. Before being appointed as Chief Justice of the U. S. Supreme Court by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Warren had been the Attorney General of California. Warren declared:

I believe the entire Bill of Rights came into being because of the knowledge our forefathers had of the Bible and their belief in it: freedom of belief, of expression, of assembly, of petition, the dignity of the individual, the sanctity of the home, equal justice under law, and the reservation of powers to the people. . . . I like to believe we are living today in the spirit of the Christian religion. I like also to believe that as long as we do so, no great harm can come to our country. 38

            Treaty of Tripoli:

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

            Part II

In the final year of his presidency, Washington urged Congress to undertake the construction of a U. S. Navy to defend American interests. 21 President John Adams vigorously pursued those naval plans, earning him the title of “Father of the American Navy.” 22 Nevertheless, Adams shied from a direct military confrontation and instead pursued a more pacific approach to the ongoing Barbary Powers encroachments.

By 1800, however, extortion payments to the Muslim terrorists accounted for twenty percent of the federal budget; so when Thomas Jefferson became President in 1801, he refused further payments and decided that it was time to take military action to end the two-decades-old terrorist attacks. Jefferson took General William Eaton (who had been appointed as “Consul to Tunis” by John Adams in 1799) and elevated Eaton to the post of “US Naval Agent to the Barbary States,” with the assignment to lead an American military expedition against Tripoli. Using the brand new American Navy to transport the U. S. Marines overseas, General Eaton led a successful campaign that freed captured American seaman and crushed the Muslim forces. After five years, in 1805 Tripoli signed a treaty on America’s terms, thus ending their aggressions.

It is from the Marine’s role in that first War on Terror that the U. S. Marines derive part of the opening line of their hymn: “From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli . . .” Two centuries later, the Marines were again ordered into action in that same general region of the world in America’s second “War on Terror,” again fighting Muslim terrorists. By 1807, Muslim Algiers had resumed attacks against American ships and sailors, and eventually declared war on America, but Jefferson was distracted with efforts to keep from going to war against Great Britain or France. When President Madison took office, he, too, became rapidly preoccupied with the issues that led to the war of the War of 1812, and also was unable to respond with military force against the attacks. With the end of that War, in 1815, Madison dispatched warships and the military against three Muslim nations: Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli. Beginning first with Algiers, America quickly subdued them and brought them to the peace table where in July 1815 they ratified a treaty that freed all Christians and ended future slavery of Christians. 23 The American fleet then departed for Tunis, to deal with them; promptly after the Americans departed, Algiers renounced the peace treaty. However, two of the other Christian nations being harassed by Muslim terrorist attacks (the British and the Dutch) brought their fleets against Algiers and attacked and subdued them. In 1816, Algiers signed a new peace treaty in which the Muslims agreed that “the practice of condemning Christian Prisoners of War to slavery is hereby and forever renounced.” 24 Significantly, when the treaty was signed, it acknowledged the date according to both the Christian and Muslim calendars:

Done in duplicate, in the warlike City of Algiers, in the presence of Almighty God, the 28th day of August, in the year of Jesus Christ, 1816, and in the year of the Hegira, 1231, and the 6th day of the Moon Shawal. 25

In the meantime, the American fleet and Marines had subdued Tunis, who signed a treaty ending the Christian enslavement and terrorist attacks. The Americans then signed another treaty Algiers in December 1816, replacing the one Algiers had renounced, in which the Muslims agreed to end the slavery of Christians. 26 This conflict ran the course of some thirty-two years, and it involved multiple incursions of the American military into the region, remaining there almost seven years, before the attacks against America ebbed.

Interestingly, there are many parallels between America’s two Wars on Terror. Perhaps U. S. Army Colonel Brian Birdwell – a decorated veteran of the modern War on Terror, later crucially-burned during the terrorist attack on the Pentagon – best explained the philosophy behind both Wars on Terror. Birdwell noted that America had only two options in the terrorists war of attrition against the United States: continue to deal with the mosquitoes coming out of the Middle East swamp, or go drain the swamp and thus prevent future mosquitoes from coming out of it. In both 1801 and 2003, America had endured two decades of mosquitoes prior to its decision to go drain the swamp. Many Americans today forget that the 2003 invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq was preceded by the 1983 Muslim terrorist attacks on the Beirut Embassy and the Marine Barracks; the 1985 Muslim terrorist attack on TWA flight 847; the 1985 attack on the Achillo Lauro cruise ship; the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Centers; the 1996 attacks on the Khobar Towers and multiple African Embassy bombings; the 2000 attack on the U. S. S. Cole, and the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. Thousands of Americans across the world had been killed in those earlier two decades of terrorist attacks before America tired of dealing with the mosquitoes and decided to drain the swamp – just as did President Jefferson in 1801 after two decades of similarly harassing attacks.

Significantly, not only the numerous treaties from the Barbary Powers conflict but also all of the official correspondence from the twenty year conflict leading up first to Jefferson’s and then to Madison’s attack on the Muslim Barbary Powers affirms that it was always viewed by both sides as a conflict between Muslim nations and a Christian one. For example, the writings of General William Eaton both in his early role as a diplomatic envoy under Adams and then in his later role as military theatre commander under Jefferson provide irrefutable testimony of this fact.

Eaton, when writing to President Adam’s Secretary of State, Timothy Pickering, apprised him of why the Muslims would be such dedicated foes:

Taught by revelation that war with the Christians will guarantee the salvation of their souls, and finding so great secular advantages in the observance of this religious duty [i.e., the secular advantage of keeping captured cargoes], their [the Muslims’] inducements to desperate fighting are very powerful. 27 (emphasis added)

Eaton also explained why the Muslims found American targets so inviting. For example, when the American cargo ship “Hero” arrived in Tunis, the Muslims immediately noted that the heavy-laden ship was protected by only two tiny four-pound cannons. According to Eaton:

[T]he weak, the crazy situation of the vessel and equipage [armaments] tended to confirm an opinion long since conceived and never fairly controverted among the Tunisians, that the Americans are a feeble sect of Christians. 28 (emphasis added)

Very simply, this type of weakness invited continued attack – and thus the need (to that point) to negotiate the often extortive treaties to keep peace. Eaton told Secretary Pickering how pleased one of the Barbary rulers had been to receive the payments promised him by America in one of the treaties:

He said, “To speak truly and candidly . . . . we must acknowledge to you that we have never received articles of the kind of so excellent a quality from any Christian nation.” 29 (emphasis added)

When John Marshall became the new Secretary of State in 1800, Eaton promptly informed him:

It is a maxim of the Barbary States that “The Christians who would be on good terms with them must fight well or pay well.” 30 (emphasis added)

When General Eaton finally commenced his military action against Tripoli at Jefferson’s order, his personal journal noted:

April 8th…. We find it almost impossible to inspire these wild bigots with confidence in us or to persuade them that, being Christians, we can be otherwise than enemies to Musselmen [Muslims]. We have a difficult undertaking! 31 (emphasis added)

May 23rd. Hassien Bey, the commander in chief of the enemy’s forces, has offered by private insinuation for my head six thousand dollars and double the sum for me a prisoner; and $30 per head for Christians. Why don’t he come and take it? 32 (emphasis added)

Shortly after the military excursion against Tripoli was successfully terminated, its account was written and published. Even the title of the book bears witness to the nature of the conflict:

The Life of the Late Gen. William Eaton . . . commander of the Christian and Other Forces . . . which Led to the Treaty of Peace Between The United States and The Regency of Tripoli 33 (emphasis added)

The numerous documents and treaties surrounding the Barbary Powers Conflict confirm that historically it was always viewed as a conflict between Christian America and Muslim nations. Furthermore, the one line from Article XI of the Treaty of Tripoli singled out by critics does not disprove that America was a Christian nation; to the contrary, when that line is reinstated back into the full sentence and its context, it proves exactly the opposite.

It will take sacrifice on the part of some to restore justice. The criminals who prey on the innocent will not stop until they fear death. When those willing to sacrifice their lives to protect others begin placing lead between the eyes of the criminals things will change.. Perhaps it is time for citizen responsibility without fear of the criminal or the prosecutor.. When government fails to protect it’s citizens it’s time for citizens to protect each other.

    • Steeve Girard

No, even fear is enough for some criminals to stop, and some thrive on fear as a drug. It will not work…. you need either to eliminate the threat, or over-awe it, with an event to the extend, that will make their way of living insignificant, and make them abandon it.

It depends how they organize their common survival. I understand a fierce independent and individualistic city like LA, will never come together to the challenge, and will go down like Detroit. However if you take a city like Minneapolis, which have lots of communities and less individuality, well that will be whole new story. The same thing will be here in Canada, Montreal will become a destroyed city, and Quebec City, still has a chance for a different destiny. All rest on how people interacts with each other.

    • afchief

Unfortunately what you say is true! Liberals and blacks do NOT want to hear it. I see it all the time!!!

FACT 1. Over 1,400 more black Americans murdered other blacks in two years than were lynched from 1882 to 1968. According to FBI data, 4,906 black people murdered other blacks in 2010 and 2011. That is 1,460 more black Americans killed by other blacks in two years than were lynched from 1882 to 1968, according to the Tuskegee Institute.

FACT 2. Black People (mostly men) commit a grossly disproportionate amount of crime. In 2012, white males were 38 percent of the population and committed 4,582 murders. That same year, black males were just 6.6 percent of the population but committed a staggering 5,531 murders.

In other words: black people–at just a fifth of the size–committed almost 1,000 more murders than their white counterparts. The figures above highlight a horrific truth that black racialists and white liberals routinely ignore: Lawbreaking black Americans, young black males particularly, put themselves in close proximity to (mostly white male) police officers at rates sometimes five to 10 times higher than whites. This is a recipe for disaster. Thusly….

FACT 3. Despite making up just 13% of the population, blacks committed half of homicides in the United States for nearly 30 years. DOJ statistics show that between 1980 and 2008, black people committed 52% of homicides. In 2013, black criminals committed 38% of the murders. Whites accounted for just 31 percent. There are five times fewer black people than white people in America and, yet, they consistently carry out a larger share of the crimes? Given this rate, it’s no wonder that there aren’t more assistances where cops kill black criminals.

FACT 4. Chicago’s death toll is almost equal to that of both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, combined. There have been almost as many deaths in one American city as there have been in the two major wars carried out by the U.S. military this century. Chicago’s death toll from 2001-November, 26 2015 stands at 7,401. The combined total deaths during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2015: 4,815) and Operation Enduring Freedom/Afghanistan (2001-2015: 3,506), total 8,321.

FACT 5. It would take cops 40 years to kill as many black men as have died at the hands of others black men in 2012 alone. University of Toledo criminologist Dr. Richard R. Johnson examined the latest crime datafrom the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Reports and Centers for Disease Control andfound that an average of 4,472 black men were killed by other black men annually between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2012.
Professor Johnson’s research further concluded that 112 black men died from both justified and unjustified police-involved killings annually during this same period.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

Your research is impressive…….but you are anti black. These numbers are slanted because we have lost the inner city black youth to the drug culture and gangs. There are no jobs inner city whereas 60-100 years ago that is where the manufacturing jobs were.

Look at detroit 50 years ago it was the envy of the world as THEE manufacturing center of the world…. it is now a drug infested hell hole.

        • afchief

Bill, I am not anti-black. I’m just pointing out the hard truths and facts. If “Black lives matter,” TRULY, why do fewer than 50% of Blacks CHOOSE to graduate from High School, securing a foundational education that is FREE for the taking? If “Black lives matter,” why are FULLY 2/3rds of American Black babies KILLED BY BLACK community members before they are born? If “Black lives matter,” why are 73% of ALL American Black babies illegitimately born (read that, born into FATHERLESS families)? If “Black lives matter,” why do Blacks KILL FAR MORE Blacks, and commit FAR MORE crimes against Blacks, than Whites do, whether against Blacks or other Whites? If “Black lives matter,” why do ONE OUT OF THREE Black men CHOOSE to become part of the American jail/prison system? Why does it seem that “Black lives matter” ONLY when a White cop shoots them?

          • Gay Veteran

“…why are FULLY 2/3rds of American Black babies KILLED BY BLACK community members before they are born?…..”

    • EllenMarie

What about the triads? The extortionists in Chinatown like Raymond Chow (Shrimpboy Chow)? Remember the Golden Dragon restaurant massacre in SF?

Although Asians commit much less crime in the US compared especially to the races that you mentioned, they are not as docile as you may think. And whites also commit crimes and in relation, have a higher percentage bc they are the majority in America. Most serial killers seem to be Caucasians (athough I have not researched the exact percentage but that would be interesting to observe).

I am just showing you another side to your argument. BTW I am Asian and Caucasian as well-though people think I am white by my outer appearance, I am more Asian in thinking.

Or hesitate, when they needed to act. Carrying a weapon is only part of the story. The ability to make a split second decision, is just as important.

      TO WHERE ?

      • GSOB

        Christ

  • Kris

I’m glad the author of this blog decided to write about the recent rape incident in New York, with all this news lately about so called Muslims raping European women! It’s a good reminder to all the bigots on this blog that Muslims are not the only ones capable of committing crimes. Also, even if women in Europe are getting raped by the refugees, that does not mean that they are getting raped by Muslims. One cannot be a Muslim and rapist at the same time in the same way that one cannot be a Christian and a rapist at the same time!

    • nevergiveup

Nice try. Sweden, once one of the safest countries in Europe is now the rape centre of Europe. Here is a statement from a research article. “A 1996 Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention report bears this out. It noted that Muslim immigrants from North Africa were 23 times more likely to commit rape than Swedish men. It is no wonder why today Sweden is deemed the rape capital of the Western world”.

      • REALIST

Rape is conquest. When you invade another tribes territory, killing the males and raping the females is NATURAL. What this shows is Sweden has been conquered. France is next. Then England. There is only one solution.

        • Steeve Girard

Unfortunately it is true, and the right to defend is the only way to prevent that. Which could mean the right to kill in self defense with a firearm.

        • GSOB

Rape is sin worthy of death, according to God’s word.

          You call it NATURAL.

I asked you to consider where you stand in your relation to Him.

Everyone has a relationship with God.
          No exceptions.
It is either one of estrangement and hostility or peace and fellowship.

You can tell a tree by its fruit.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Well said GSOB………..

        • Madamarcati

There is nothing natural about rape. Also, you have obviously led a rather sheltered life if you believe a conquering army merely rapes women.
Though you are correct that it is a crime of effacement and conquest. Rape is the modus vivendi of the sociopath. Any one who chooses to rape is less than human lacking the self-discipline and empathy most others possess. Because our postwar modern society has been hijacked by sociopaths rape is now a virus running through our entire society. Those five men gang raping that girl in Brooklyn are merely mimicking the behaviour of our celebrities and leaders. As above: so below.

        • Linda

German citizens have very recently been letting their gov know their cover up of all the rapes by muslim immigrants was NOT appreciated either.

      • Linda

They’ve now earned the rape capital of the world. So many muslim immigrant rapes are taking place in Europe now they’ve taken to putting fliers out to them that touching/raping women is not allowed. Post in pools to the same issue. They need to be TOLD not to act in these inappropriate ways… because where they come from they can do whatever they want to women/children and boys. It’s terrible.

        • nevergiveup

It is terrible and tragic Linda. I have been on a missionary trip to Pakistan where we provided some financial support to an orphanage specifically for young girls ( some of them 8,9, 10 years old) who had been rescued from men who basically ‘married’ them. There are many good Muslim people but unfortunately there are some major cultural and religious ‘norms’ that need to be dealt with – the problem is, I don’t think it can be changed. Europe is in for a very hard time. You only have to look at the history of some East European countries that have been fighting a war on and off with Islam for centuries.

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

Chris sorry to tell ya that this Muslim rape of non muslim woman is real……just read up on the problem in Scandinavia, France etc……….you sound like a muslim.

    • Steeve Girard

That is because they are not. They are just paper written Muslims… they do not act like Muslims. They are most likely Seculars, or at worst, undercover Satanists (in the philosophical sense) claiming falsely being Muslims to meld with their main stream culture.
      .
Some Christians have the same behavior too.
      .
Even Pagans can act like this.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

A muslim woman must have THREE WITNESSES to charge the muslim man with rape so unless she gets raped in the middle of a crowded food store it is impossible to convict.

        Got it ?

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

Wrong non muslim infidel woman have no standing in the muslim world ……..muslim woman have next to NO standing in the muslim world…

A muslim woman charging a muslim man with RAPE must have THREE WITNESSES to charge him.

      • Linda

And the women are ‘normally’ the ones punished… not the rapists.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

Yes this is true……all designed in the pits of hell.

  • Barry Goldwater

The economy is about to do much more than slow down. Negative rates will arrive in the US soon as the Bandaid solutions to 2008 begin falling away. This author wonders if Americans will finally see for themselves what this means or continue depositing their funds in the US Ponzi Bank ?
Again I stalled my bank with a request for a large sum of cash however as it was a Monday the pileup of customers didn’t materialize as say , on a Friday. I noticed a guy driving up to the ATM and thought about the big surprise awaiting him.
Think there’s nothing wrong in your Ponzi Bank ?
Just try asking for a large sum in cash and watch the stricken expressions on their faces.
As we move closer to the end game and the collapse of Keynesianism the anger, desperation and panic will grip even the reasonable, resolute and intelligent when they realize that preparation was the one thing they neglected to do. It will resemble that episode of the Twilight Zone when one guy in the neighborhood built a bomb shelter and all his neighbors, his friends and close associates one and all were ready to murder him when they learned he was the only guy on the block with adequate shelter. The short of it is that events on the horizon will turn peace loving people into killers overnight.
Be watchful, be ready, be prepared and pray .

    • Steeve Girard

Again, how it will turn out in an area will depend on how tight and knitted is the community. It will turn ugly in places that are me, myself and I. And it will have a chance to be different, no necessarily for the best, but a good chance it will not be Mad Max Road Warrior.

    • JF

Banks haven’t kept large amounts of cash on hand in decades. That is nothing new. Sounds funny, I know. Hey it’s a bank – where’s all the money? Hold up a bank today and, you won’t get very much for your trouble.

      • Barry Goldwater

Perhaps they’d better gear up for what’s coming. While some of us are preparing and building on hand cash reserves in order to avoid the lockdown of ATM’s and Banks ahead of time my sense is most American’s are underestimating the magnitude of the financial upheaval on the horizon. That being the case I believe that when NIRP come to our shores depositors will finally begin to awaken. Most will find the new fees created to offset the rates Banks pay to park cash as unacceptable since it amounts to paying the Bank to keep your money, a far cry from the days not long ago when it was possible to earn 4 or 5 % on deposits, then many depositors will refuse this and begin withdrawing their funds.
I also accept there will be some who will go along with anything because they’re convinced it’s for the greater good just not necessarily theirs.

    • Wedge

I believe it! Anyone that is not prepared for the end of this crap is a fool. normally good people will do anything in their power when it comes time and they can not feed the children or themselves. It will get nasty overnight, in a hurry and it will not be pretty

  • VigilanteCaregiver

Where I live is a different story. The violent crime does happen, but it’s the subtle crime you really need to watch for.

Personal security is a MUST these days: in all the usual ways (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etc.) and now digital. It’s bad enough when someone robs you at gunpoint; another when they scan your debit’s RFID chip or phone account and steal your bank access without any hint you’re hit ’til the bank statement comes out.

And I still think we’ll violence escalate with both armaments and digital hacking apps. People have used modified Nintendo Wii controllers to open car doors, laptops with an antenna to hack into traffic lights and power grids: how much more development ’til they can overload your phone’s battery ’til it explodes? Or hack your next-gen pacemaker or insulin pump? All with a simple app and a smartphone…

People REALLY need to think about their personal security all more.

When the Supreme Court took out prayer in public schools by a 9-0 vote in June 1962 this opened the flood gates to hell. The proverbial Pandora’s box was opened…assassinations, Vietnam, crime of all sorts, drugs, abortion, the list is endless. The devil’s attack on young people began more than 50 years ago and is now reaching a crescendo. Get saved, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior that is your only escape.

    • JustShootEm

Prayer taken out of the schools has absolutely NOTHING to do with the crime rate escalation. “Diversification” has EVERYTHING to do with it. The so called Civil Rights Movement opened your “flood gates to hell” amigo, open you EYES!

      • Cal

I firmly disagree. Check crime rates in the US from 1929-1961. Barely an increase, but starting in 1962 according to J Edgar Hoover crime began to avalanche in this country in particular juvenile crime and SAT scores began to plummet. Yes indeed removing references of God from public schools in 62 & 63 (Bible Reading) created a spiritual vacuum and nature abhors a vacuum and in walked that old serpent from the Garden of Eden.

        • JustShootEm

You too are blind then. You can try and blame lack of religion on the escalating crime rates and lower moral standards of our country but if you open your eyes you will see the real (dark) picture. People like you won’t see anything until it is too late…

            Also well said……….

          • ONE WHO KNOWS

You may want to research the history of the African-American communities in America. Blacks had many communities that thrived. The white man totally destroyed Black Wall Street and Rosewood. The white man plays a game with minorities. The more minorities advance, the more they’re pulled right back down.

          • Steeve Girard

            That is the truth!

          • REALIST

When we had Segregation and Segregated Housing, etc. there were functional Black communities since the “talented 10%” were FORCED to live with their kind. When this ended, they too, got as far away as they could from the other 90% and moved to the White areas (and began the destruction of White Areas….Detroit?).

The only way to have Black communities is to force them to live there. Won’t happen, thus it will all “go to hell”.

          • ONE WHO KNOWS

That’s not a “black” issue. That’s a “class” issue. You’ll find class structuralism even within the African-American race. There’s diversity within the black race. Sadly, black people are all lumped together. We’re not all the same.

          • Linda

But as a whole community they continue to elected democrats who do nothing to improve their plight… just keep them more dependent on the government entitlements.
            —-
I see many black families when they support family values, a belief in God and are usually more conservative than the liberals that speak to helping them being called all sorts of racist names by the left. Yet they are the ones who have removed themselves from gov dependency and actually accomplished something in their lives – they’ve succeeded.

          • ONE WHO KNOWS

When you’re a pawn in a game, you don’t even know how to win. Black people have been a pawn in the game since Reconstruction ended. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc…etc…are just part of the game. I’m not a naive or stupid woman, and I realize that there is racism in America. But nowadays racism has turned into a game. The word “racism” is tossed around like a football.

So, if blacks really wish to uplift ourselves/themselves then we must stop remaining a PAWN and become active PLAYERS in regards to our lives. And stop falling for nonsense/BS all of the time.

For example, if a black child only hears, “The white man hates your gut and the white man will never let you get ahead.” That black child will grow up believing that. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have a bad habit of reinforcing those beliefs in the minds of black folks. Whereas, in reality, if black folks would step out on faith and take full responsibility for our/their lives they/we would see and learn first-hand that in 2016 the 21st Century blacks can succeed in America.

How can you accomplish something in LIFE, if no one is telling you-you can accomplish something in LIFE?

A slave will always run to it’s master. A slave doesn’t even know what it means to be free.

“I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.” – attributed to Harriet Tubman

          • Linda

Such wise words, One Who Knows. Thank you.
I’ve often posted that [politics aside] Dr. Ben Carson would / could serve in some capacity on a national level, to be a HUGE roll model for our children who are on a track to poverty/jail/destruction of their lives… and don’t know the way to get out… A true mentor he could be and is, as other black men before him has been. Just not enough of them sadly.

Boy, wait until the 50 million that are on some sort of assistance (welfare, food stamps) start getting hungry. A big fat woman can move fast if she knows you have food! I would say about 15 million welfare recipients are embarrassed to be on welfare. The rest wear it like a badge of honor. If you carry a gun you better be prepared to use it on the fat lady, or she will take it from you and shoot you. I “think” I could shoot someone only if I was afraid for my life, “just throw her the steak and she’ll stop chasing you!”
In the summertime when I’m driving down the road I will see a sign “Children at Play”. I don’t see children at play and that is how the neighborhoods come together. That is how you get to know your neighbors. The couple that did not have kids we barely got to know them.

These stories are obviously fabrications. Michael is “peddling fiction”. He knows that NY and Chicago have strict gun laws, there is no way all of these gun crimes could be taking place.

    • REALIST

Correct. Gun Control has always stopped this violence. NY and Chicago need to enact sensible gun control.

      • Steeve Girard

Gun control is a temporary patch… eventually people find a way to circumvent, and will buy them under the nose of authorities, with them (authorities) asleep on the wheel, because they where not looking where they should. Because control is not simple, and unidirectional, it requires also a vigilance that is not normal to any human being. Humans do get tired and attention-less over time.

Matt Bracken wrote an article on Western Rifle Shooters dot com that talks about how cities will explode the day they cut off the EBT cards.

This is the title of the article: “Bracken: When The Music Stops – How America’s Cities May Explode In Violence,” September 3, 2012. Look it up at the website I listed above.

      • Linda

I don’t see gov ever cutting off the ebt cards. Everytime a budget issue is brought to the table they want to steal more from the producers in our nation = their evil rich, while they talk about cutting SS benefits/veterans benefits. NEVER heard them talking about cutting welfare to their base voters.
        —–
But what I do see the possibility of is the gov doing like Cyprus did… just outright stealing from their citizens bank accounts…to pay their bills…along with cutting off how much money they could withdraw each day from their own bank accounts…etc.

Michael, did you know that the city of Los Angeles has banned online sales of ammunition? San Francisco and Oakland have similar ordinances in place. Is it any wonder that these cities in CA have some of most draconian gun laws and yet have some of the highest crime rates?? If you need an illustration that gun control doesn’t work, look no further that these three cities.

Bulls need a close of up 223+ on the DJIA or Ben may quickly be proven the smartest man on this board. Regardless of the rhetoric I’d expect a 30-85% retracement of fridays price action as market makers likely “went short to ‘help’ maintain orderly markets” will likely attempt to lean on equities in efforts to walk them lower and back and fill along the way and cover their shorts. A gap up open could prolong the event and a retracement exceeding 85% likely signals there are simply not enough shorts left as fuel and a fast sharp test very close to the recent lows may now be imminent- a violation of recent lows and 1500s-1600s may be much sooner than most bulls believe. Things are Bearly bullish for a moment and the threshold to maintain positive momentum has now been lifted to levels IMHO bulls can not maintain. I expect Ben finally to have his day. Sorry bulls but better be very very careful … what many thought unimaginable forecasts may soon be… Jmho

Still not out of the question as it looks right now the 85% retrace / test has held. Conditions certainly are deteriorating but Fridays close again will add a lot of clarity. Tomorrow close 30% above the low of tomorrow’s range may signal a turnaround Wednesday then set up to narrow the weekly close and the rate of negative momentum in the time price progression models. Lots of optimistic speculation there though.

Key indicies are currently right at approximately 85% price retracement- volume reversal- of Fridays gain. That outsized gain – a 1.39% would have been sufficient to confirm any quantifiable upside momentum on the weekly – finished about +2%. From here until Friday that type upside is needed to confirm momentum has not slowed or stalled. Now until Friday are very significant for bulls or downside momentum likely expands by next Friday jmho

Looks like S&P support between 1900-1910 but if 1890 gives way we could retest 8-24-15 lows? It looked like a triple bottom with a reversal but I don’t see strength in economic numbers to justify a meaningful reversal. What’s your take?

          • SP2300ROFL

I just follow the technicals. Price action never lies. The bulls have a tough play between now and Friday or expect an algo driven bear raid until something significant changes.

          • Cheese Ball Special

I “try” to combine fundamental and technical analysis but technical usually wins out 😉 What are some of the key support levels you are watching on S&P? Seems we are dangerously close to extreme lows but 1880 seems to hold back to 2014.

          • SP2300ROFL

You’re correct there 1880 then 1873 then 1850. I expect they’ll all be violated when the weekly fails to confirm positive momentum.

          • Cheese Ball Special

……and yet some of the poorest parts of the country have crime rates that approach zero, where citizens still leave their doors unlocked although advised not too.

Those of us that have reached a certain age understand that something fundamentally changed in this country beginning in the late 1960’s and throughout the 1970’s. No I am not talking about some age related nostalgia about the good old days and white fence small towns that resemble Mayberry RFD.

People are complex and simple answers like poverty, drugs, gun control and locking people up in cages as proposed by those with a political agendas will never suffice to explain or produce a more civilized society.

After half a century of failed social engineering experiments this should be clear to even an imbecile at some level. Groups of people are even more complicated. Even in mild-mannered North Central Florida, the police are indifferent toward crime. I reported a hijacking of my Amazon account. I had the email address of the perpetrator, the probable location of the hijacking, and I had the person’s name who did it (likely it was a kid who didn’t know what he was doing). The sheriff that interviewed me just gave me an “Identity Theft” brochure and said there is nothing they do unless monetary loss is involved. The perpetrator made incomplete purchases using “points” and gift cards valued at over $100 from my account. But fortunately the items would have been sent to my own house and Amazon restored my account without loss. Nonetheless, an attempt was made to steal. Isn’t there such thing as “attempted robbery or theft” which is what this was?

Forget all the mythology and the religious cultural artifacts, can’t you see you’re all being manipulated by it into killing the guy standing next to you. And once you forget that stuff you can concentrate on the problem….. And that is: ‘You’ will be either one of two personalities, either you will 1) consume all you have produced today immediately, or, you will 2) consume some of what you produced immediately, but save some for tomorrow too…..

Think about that seriously, and not about all the false dichotomies that separate people, like religion, education and such. You know that there exists an ultimate decision maker, whether it be a Pope or a General or a President doesn’t matter…. It’s all about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and the demise of the middle class. The rich read the above comments and laugh, but know the strategy works. Get the poor to demand their ‘share’ of the wealth, while the rich simply earn their share by selling the poor toys.

Have you not wondered why those early grade-school curriculums don’t teach anthropology, so kids can learn about all people, and not just Jews or Christians or Mormons; and why don’t they teach about money and saving and how the system works. You can’t find that even in first year college economic courses. The wealthy make sure the economy moves in waves, such that while you are fighting over the insignificant stuff like above, they’re confiscating, legally that is, your wealth and money.

Read Barry Goldwater below next, he’s got the right idea, we’re poised for a downturn following the latest 0 % interest rates.

The police are owned body and soul by the criminal element in charge. The drug industry alone is worth billions of dollars a year and shows no signs of ever going away under current policies of current police departments.
I speak of no one agency or any one police person out there. The fruit of their labor is evidence enough. When conviction of a crime is the main objective rather than protecting the innocent people out there then any person needs a lawyer the minute the police get involved.
I was once as a young man was told it would be 30-60 minutes before a police team could investigate a prowler in my back yard.
I told the dispatcher to never mind. Just send someone to pick up the body. (I was an Air Policeman in the U.S. Air Force at one time.)
“What!” the dispatcher replied. “You cannot do that!”
I said I had a hyperactive German Shepherd under remote lock in a kennel run in the back yard. I simply turn a switch and the dog will find the prowler for you!
In 2.5 minutes 2 police cruizers were running through my back yard with flashlights.
There can be over 30 pieces of paperwork to fill out if someone dies.
If no one dies, they fill out an incident report.
A few years later I held a demonstration in my back yard. I stacked a small target up against the hill and placed newspapers behind the straw target. Then I took a 150 pound pull crossbow and shot a bolt into the target. I asked one of the teens to recover the bolt.
They couldn’t do it. The bolt went straight through the target and the newspapers and buried itself in the hill.
The kids were always respectful and used “Mr.” in front of my name.
They asked why a crossbow instead of a gun.
I told them straight. I can get six bolts off before anyone even knows I am shooting because it is virtually silent.
    A competent shooter is deadly.
No armor currently made will stop a 150 pounds of bolt.
I never had a problem with thieves in the neighborhood for well over 20 years.
Those teens were between 16-18 years old. They were terrible gossips. The word got out to leave my place alone.
I understand where that Dad was coming from. Now he has to live with it for the rest of his life.
But I think if I lived where he lives I would be licensed for concealed carry. I personally am old fashioned. I would have two 38 police specials and I know how to use them. 5 men no problem.
Even an old 38 can take out 5 men with one pistol. Two pistols and you can get creative like aiming for the knee joints.
One man screaming is lungs out from pain is a terrible thing to behold. 4 other men running for their lives? Most likely they are cowards at heart.
What I have spelled out here happened in the 70s. The biggest problem is the corruption in the courts and in the police departments that serve them. Make no mistake, they serve the lawyers not the people. When that happens all respect for them disappears.
I think a major change in how police react to the public is the only way they will survive.
When dealing with police always show respect. That person is out there on the streets risking his life. And no amount of money makes up for that.
Our courts, our politicians, our people, need to change the relationship between police and the lawyers. Police have a terrible curse and blessing at the same time. If they are true to their oaths of office it is a blessing. If not, then it becomes a hellish curse from which there is no return.

I do not believe one word of your Rambo stories.

      • REALIST

You don’t? You should hear my stories, all true and all based on the fact I am not a weasel, nor coward, and know when and how to “use” my guns.

I once heard an Indian swami say, “When someone steals from you whatever it was it did not really belong to you anyway.” I don’t think that’s a philosophy that’s going to fly in the gun toting blue states.

    • HeyAHuman

I’m sure the mafia and our crooked gangster government love that philosophy…

obama expressed his desires for a domestic police force ‘larger than our army’ while campaigning in 2008.

Yes, its a cesspool. This is the America that the political class has sown — republican and democrat. Their billionaire controllers get cheap labor and new consumers. Population growth is critical to the ponzi scheme. For 20 years, most have come from failed third world countries, and that’s all they know how to live. A permanent underclass.

The Pentagon recipe for its strategic survival, and therefore America’s survival:

Step 1: Expand NATO right into Russia western borders and piss off Putin. Use the messed up Ukraine as platform to threaten invasion of Russia.

Step 2: Declare security emergency in Europe which require the U.S. to rearm and deploy forces in Europe like the Cold War.

Step 3: Ask Congress to fund Cold War 2 in Europe against Russian invasion to the tune of $40 billion per year. Then ask Congress to approve $400 billion per year for 5 years for massive buildup of strategic and tactical weapon systems and forces to be deployed to Europe to surround Evil Empire II Russia. Initiate full-scale invasion on Syria to remove Assad and Russian forces. Prepare for war in Europe and Middle East when Russia counter attack. This war is vital to restore America’s global reputation as a peaceful nation.

Step 4: Ask Congress a further $500 billion per year for 10 years to build up of the most advanced forces – strategic bombers, aircraft carrier battle groups, 5th generation fighters, upgrade of nuclear weapons, orbital killer satellites, to surround China and prepare for the inevitable war with both Russia and China. Initiate massive attack on China when a CV is shot at when it sailed within a few miles of China new little island in the S China sea, a strategy that worked for the Gulf of Tonkin incident to start the Vietnam War.

America will win this WW3 of course and reap tremendous rewards, just like winning WW2. The Pentagon will be the savior of the great land blessed by God.

It will also automatically solved economic crisis throughout America. Just like WW2 fixed the Great Depression. But perhaps this time more than a few inner cities will be flatten with Russian and Chinese nukes. But that’s not the Pentagon’s problem. It too is a victim of Russian and Chinese aggression.

I’m confused when did the L.A.P.D. ever arrive on time? And who believed that dialing 911 would save your life or get a rapid response from the police. I think the poet Flava Flav said it best, 911 is a joke way back in 1990. Folks been dodging bullets and fending for themselves for decades so who are the whose that need to now watch their back because of high crime?

and what part of the Constitution is based on Christian values?

    The Three-Fifths Compromise?

found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution, which reads:

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.

just goes to show you that gun control doesn’t work in the three cities talked about in this article. they all have to go back to arming all the legal citizens in these cities. even the cops know this and it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by six…
