We are living in an era of endless disasters.  Over the past several years, we have been hit with one thing after another, and the pace of events seems to have picked up steam in 2024.  Just think of all the things we have seen in recent days.  There was the historic terror attack in Russia, then the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed, and then Israel’s strike on a building right next to Iran’s embassy in Damascus threatened to spark a major regional war.  Less than 24 hours ago, a catastrophic earthquake hit Taiwan, but that is already starting to fade from the news cycle because so much else is happening right now. We are about to witness the most dramatic astronomical event in the entire history of the United States.  The Great American Eclipse of 2024 will be the last total solar eclipse in the continental United States until 2044, and it is being projected that it will be personally viewed by more people than any other eclipse in North America ever has been.  Literally millions of people are expected to travel into the path of the totality on April 8th, and one expert is warning that this will be like “50 simultaneous Super Bowls across the nation”… (Read More...)

Did you see what just happened in Damascus?  In an absolutely stunning move, Israel took out the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.  Needless to say, the Iranians are absolutely furious and they are promising a “harsh” response.  For a long time, I have been warning my readers that an apocalyptic war in the Middle East will be one of the conflicts that defines World War III.  The good news is that the war in the Middle East has not escalated to an apocalyptic level yet.  But after what we witnessed on Monday, we are just one step away. We have never been closer to nuclear war than we are right now.  If the conflict in Ukraine sparks a large scale nuclear war between the United States and Russia, billions of people could die.  This is why so many of us desperately want leaders from both sides to sit down at the negotiating table and try to work out their differences peacefully.  Perhaps a peaceful solution is not possible, but for the good of humanity they should at least make an attempt.  Because as things stand right now, all it is going to take is one mistake for the world to be plunged into an unthinkable nuclear cataclysm. Officials had been greatly puzzled by a “mystery disease” that has been making dairy cattle in Texas, Kansas and New Mexico very sluggish and has been causing them to produce much less milk.  So they decided to do some testing, and we now have the results.  It turns out that the mystery illness is actually “the same strain of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) that’s been in the U.S. for two years”… (Read More...)

An Israeli ground operation in Rafah is a “red line” for Hezbollah and Iran, and so once the IDF goes in the entire region could explode.  Of course if Israel intends to destroy Hamas, an operation in Rafah is necessary, because that it where Hamas is hiding.  Israeli officials have been telling us over and over again that there will be a ground operation in Rafah no matter what the Biden administration or anyone else thinks, and now we have a timeline.  The following is from a Times of Israel article entitled “Report: Israel preparing for Rafah ground operation in mid April or early May”… (Read More...)

When I awoke early on Tuesday morning, I was stunned to learn that the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore had collapsed.  We are being told that it was a tragic “accident” and that there is no evidence that any foul play was involved.  Hopefully that is true.  But no matter how it was caused, this tragedy is going to have an enormous impact on U.S. supply chains.  And of course this comes at a really bad time, because Houthi missile strikes in the Red Sea and low water levels in the Panama Canal have been putting a tremendous amount of strain on global supply chains recently. If America is heading in the right direction, why have so many of our major cities become cesspools of violence, drugs, theft, trash and homelessness?  Once upon a time, millions of young people from all over America flocked to our rapidly growing metropolitan areas.  Today, there is a mass exodus out of our largest metropolitan areas due to the absolutely deplorable conditions.  If you are not yet convinced that we are a nation in decline, spend some time wandering around our core urban areas.  The shiny new cities that previous generations of Americans built for us are degenerating at a pace that is absolutely stunning.
