By the end of this month, there will be no more Walmart stores in Portland.  More than 641,000 people live within the city limits of Portland, and so you would think that there should be a lot of money to be made there.  But Walmart has decided to wave the white flag.  Portland has been transformed into a complete and utter hellhole, and apparently Walmart executives have determined that things are not going to turn around any time soon.  So they have announced that the last two Walmart stores in Portland that were still operational will be permanently shut down by the end of March… (Read More...)

Americans need to be prepared to eat a lot less beef, because the size of the national cattle herd is steadily shrinking.  And of course this is happening in the context of a much larger crisis.  As I detailed in a previous article, even CNN is admitting that we are currently in the midst of “the worst food crisis in modern history”.  But even though children are literally dropping dead from starvation on the other side of the planet, a lot of people here in the United States refuse to take this crisis seriously.  As long as their stomachs are full they think that everything is just fine.  But the truth is that conditions are also starting to get tight here in the United States. I am so alarmed by the economic numbers that have been coming out recently.  I wrote about some of them in an article that I posted yesterday, and I am going to write about some more of them today.  Ever since the end of the Great Recession, Americans have been piling up debt at a staggering pace, and now that debt bubble is starting to implode.  There isn’t really a precedent for this, and so we can’t look back at past events in order to project what will happen next.  But it should be obvious to all of us that things will soon start getting really bad in this country. Why is the U.S. economy suddenly deteriorating so rapidly all around us?  Well, the short answer is that this downturn is way overdue.  For years, our leaders tried to cheat the laws of economics.  The Federal Reserve pushed interest rates all the way to the floor, which is something that never would happen in a true free market economy, and they pumped trillions of fresh dollars that they literally created out of thin air into the financial system.  Meanwhile, our politicians in Washington were engaging in the greatest debt binge that the world has ever seen.  All of this reckless manipulation seemed to work for a while, but many of us warned that it would inevitably create a major inflation crisis, and that is precisely what happened.  So now the Fed is aggressively hiking interest rates in a desperate attempt to tame the inflation monster that they helped to create, and higher rates are absolutely crushing economic activity. Inflation is a hidden tax on all of us.  Unfortunately, most Americans don’t understand this.  Most of them cheered when the federal government was handing out free checks as if they were candy.  And most Americans fully approved of the Federal Reserve propping up our financial markets by flooding the system with obscene amounts of money.  But now we are paying the price.  Our money doesn’t go nearly as far as it once did, and the cost of living has become extremely oppressive. The horrific environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio has contaminated the air, the soil and the water in much of the region.  So how much, if any, of the food that is grown in that part of the country will be safe to eat?  I had not thought about that question too much until I received a very alarming phone call.  One of the people that I spoke to during that phone call was a woman that I know personally.  I have known her for years, and I have visited with her in her own living room, and so I can vouch for her honesty.  She told me that her “son-in-law manages three organic food farms in California, Idaho, and Washington State”, and that he is “warning family and friends to get ready for severe food shortages starting this spring”.  Apparently there are several factors that will cause food supplies to be tighter, and one of the biggest is the fact that the “Ohio spill has contaminated a lot of land and water”.  Apparently there is a scramble “to find clean food” and her son-in-law is receiving lots of phone calls from buyers in the eastern half of the nation that want to buy what his farms are producing. I knew exactly what would happen when China unveiled their peace plan for the conflict in Ukraine.  The night before, I told my wife that western leaders would immediately dismiss it.  Sadly, that is precisely what happened.  Of course any peace plan proposed by China was not going to be perfect.  But for the good of humanity our leaders should be willing to at least sit down and talk with the Russians.  Because if we stay on the path that we are currently on, eventually somebody will use nuclear weapons.  And once things go nuclear, we could be facing a nightmare scenario in which hundreds of millions of people die. In our rotting, decaying society, there are literally hordes of rotting, decaying people in the streets.  In this article, I am going to tell you about an immensely powerful drug that is taking America by storm.  It makes people stagger about like zombies, and it also causes raw, gaping wounds that will literally rot away arms and legs if left untreated.  Of course the U.S. was already facing an unprecedented drug crisis even before this new “zombie drug” started to spread like wildfire.  More than a million Americans have died of a drug overdose since 1999, and the drug overdose epidemic has actually greatly accelerated within the past few years.  At this point, more than 100,000 Americans a year are dying from a drug overdose.  According to the CDC, someone dies from an overdose in this country every five minutes, and most of those drug overdose deaths are being caused by a drug known as fentanyl.  An amount of fentanyl equivalent to a grain of rice is enough to kill a person, and right now fentanyl is actually the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45… (Read More...)
