10 Things About The U.S. News Media That They Do Not Want You To Know

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

10 Things About The US News MediaDo you trust the news media?  Do you believe that the information that they are giving you is true and accurate?  If you answered yes to either of those questions, that places you in a steadily shrinking minority.  Yes, on average Americans watch approximately 153 hours of television a month, but for their news they are increasingly turning to alternative sources of information such as this website.  Big news channels such as CNN, MSNBC and Fox News are losing hordes of viewers, and they are desperately searching for answers.  Things have gotten so bad at CNN that they have been forced to lay off hundreds of workers.  The mainstream media is slowly dying, but they will never admit it.  They are still convinced that they can find some way to turn this around and regain the trust of the American people.  But it simply is not going to happen.  The following are 10 things about the U.S. news media that they do not want you to know…

#1 The level of trust in the U.S. news media is at an all-time low.

According to a Gallup survey that was conducted last month, only 40 percent of all Americans have a “great deal/fair amount” of confidence in the mass media.  That ties the lowest level that Gallup has ever recorded.

#2 The news media is far more liberal than the American people.

We hear much about the supposed “conservative bias” of Fox News, but the truth is that overall the U.S. public considers the news media to be extremely liberal.  Gallup found that 44 percent of all Americans consider the news media to be “too liberal”, and only 19 percent of all Americans consider the news media to be “too conservative”.

And it is a fact that “journalists” are far more likely to give money to Democrats than to Republicans.  The following comes from an MSNBC report identified 143 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 16 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties.

#3 Fox News is not nearly as “conservative” as you think that it is.

Fox News may be constantly promoting a “Republican agenda”, but that does not mean that it is conservative.  This is especially true when it comes to social issues.  Some of their anchors are extremely socially liberal, one of the top executives at Fox News is a big Hillary Clinton supporter, and 21st Century Fox/News Corp. has given the Clintons more than 3 million dollars since 1992.

#4 MSNBC is in a death spiral.

After years of lying to the American people, the credibility of MSNBC is absolutely shot.  Pretty much all MSNBC does is endlessly spew establishment propaganda.  One study found that MSNBC only engages in 15 percent “factual reporting” and the other 85 percent is “commentary/opinion”.

So it should be no surprise that only 6 percent of Americans consider MSNBC to be their most trusted source for news…

NBC News and sister cable network MSNBC rank at the bottom of media outlets Americans trust most for news, with Fox News leading the way, according to a new poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.

In its fifth trust poll, 35 percent said they trusted Fox news more than any other outlet, followed by PBS at 14 percent, ABC at 11 percent, CNN at 10 percent, CBS at 9 percent, 6 percent for MSNBC and Comedy Central, and just 3 percent for NBC.

#5 Americans are increasingly turning to Facebook and other Internet sources for their news.

At least that is what one recent survey discovered.  It found that an astounding 48 percent of Americans got news about government and politics from Facebook within the past week.  The numbers for CNN and Fox News were just 44 percent and 39 percent respectively.

#6 Over the past year or so the big three cable news networks have lost an unprecedented number of viewers.

According to a Pew Research study, the number of prime time viewers for all three networks combined declined by 11 percent in 2013…

In 2013, the cable news audience, by nearly all measures, declined. The combined median prime-time viewership of the three major news channels—CNN, Fox News and MSNBC—dropped 11% to about 3 million, the smallest it has been since 2007. The Nielsen Media Research data show that the biggest decline came at MSNBC, which lost nearly a quarter (24%) of its prime-time audience. CNN, under new management, ended its fourth year in third place, with a 13% decline in prime time. Fox, while down 6%, still drew more viewers (1.75 million) than its two competitors combined (619,500 at MSNBC and 543,000 at CNN).

The decline was even more dramatic for the critical 25 to 54-year-old demographic.  From November 2012 to November 2013, CNN’s ratings for that demographic plunged by a whopping 59 percent, and MSNBC’s ratings for that demographic plummeted by 52 percent.

#7 The big news networks have a love affair with the Obama administration.

Yes, there are reporters that get annoyed by the petty press rules that Obama makes them follow and by their lack of access to the president, but overall there is a tremendously incestuous relationship between the Obama administration and the mainstream news media.

For example, did you know that the president of CBS and the president of ABC both have brothers that have served as top officials in the Obama administration?

And needless to say, Barack Obama does not care for the alternative media much at all.  The following is an excerpt from a WND article

NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd says President Obama was making it “clear” at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner over the weekend how he feels about the rise of Internet news sites like Politico, Buzzfeed and … well, WND.

“He hates it.”

Appearing on “Meet the Press” Sunday morning following Saturday night’s media, politics and celebrity soiree, Todd explained the president’s disdain for independent online news sources was showing during his speech.

“It did seem … I thought his pot shots, joke-wise, and then the serious stuff about the Internet, the rise of the Internet media and social media and all that stuff – he hates it, OK? He hates this part of the media,” Todd said. “He really thinks that the, sort of, the buzzification – this isn’t just about Buzzfeed or Politico and all this stuff – he thinks that sort of coverage of political media has hurt political discourse. He hates it. And I think he was just trying to make that clear last night.”

#8 Newspaper ad revenues are about a third of what they were back in the year 2000.

Yes, you read that correctly.  As Americans have discarded the print versions of their newspapers, newspaper ad revenues have experienced a decline that is absolutely unprecedented

It took a half century for annual newspaper print ad revenue to gradually increase from $20 billion in 1950 (adjusted for inflation in 2013 dollars) to $65.8 billion in 2000, and then it took only 12 years to go from $65.8 billion in ad revenues back to less than $20 billion in 2012, before falling further to $17.3 billion last year.

#9 News magazines are also experiencing a dramatic multi-year decline in ad revenues.

Once upon a time, news magazines such as Time, Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report were must reads.

But those days are long gone.

Ad revenues are way down across the entire industry, and any magazine that can keep their yearly losses to the single digits is applauded for it

For a third year in a row, news magazines faced a difficult print advertising environment. Combined ad pages (considered a better measure than ad revenue) for the five magazines studied in this report were down 13% in 2013, following a decline of 12.5% in 2012, and about three times the rate of decline in 2011, according to the Publishers Information Bureau. Again, hardest hit was The Week, which suffered a 20% drop in ad pages. The Atlantic fell 17%, The Economist 16%, and Time about 11%, while The New Yorker managed to keep its ad pages losses in single digits (7%).

#10 Even though the mainstream media is dying, they still have an overwhelmingly dominant position.

What would you say if I told you that there are just six enormous media conglomerates that combine to produce about 90 percent of all the media that Americans consume?

If you do not believe this, please see my previous article entitled “Who Owns The Media? The 6 Monolithic Corporations That Control Almost Everything We Watch, Hear And Read“?

This is why “the news” seems to be so similar no matter what channel you watch.

But we aren’t just talking about control of the news media.  These giant media corporations also own movie studios, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, video game makers, music labels and even many of our favorite websites.

So we should be thankful that their media monopoly is finally crumbling.

Nobody should have that much power over what the American people see, hear and think about.

What is your perspective on all of this?  Please feel free to share your thoughts on the U.S. news media by posting a comment below…

Basically, all previous forms of media (tv, radio, print) etc are being rendered obsolete by the internet. However, never underestimate the ability of the elite to learn how to control anything, once they understand it. In the 1920s there was a time when radio was uncontrolled by the elite with ordinary citizens setting up their own broadcasting stations. By the 1930s, radio was confined to a handful of big networks owned by the elite. The same will happen with the internet very soon.

    • Infidel51

Spot on. Even web pages we expect to have “principles” can be bought for a price I’m afraid. Everyone has a number.

    • Infidel51

And of course they will regulate it to death. Can’t forget the gubmint.

  • Imaplaneiac

I ceased viewing Lamestream ” News ” many years ago! In fact, the ONLY programming of the alphabet networks I view are NFL games. I call Fox News ” FAUX ” News or Fox CRIME Channel. MOST of the so-called ” news ” they present is in someway related to terrorists or a litany the latest CRIMES committed in the District of Criminals ( Federal government ) and across the country. They present the S O S EVERY day! That’s NOT ” news ” I want or need to see or hear! I wear-out my TV remote muting Faux ” News ” or quickly changing to another channel.

  • rant1200 .

I find msnbc far more reliable than most of the others, especially faux new. Most of the staff are younger and not so inclined to follow the cow trail.Faux news is just a propaganda arm for the repugnican party.

    • Mike Smithy

Either you are delusional or your a paid shill from Media Matters. PMSNBC is not a legitimate source for news. It is undoubtedly a propaganda machine for the Demon-rats.

    • smallergovnow

rant, you must be a paid troll… and a nebbish on top of that…

      • sharonsj

Mike is the one who is delusional and you aren’t much brighter. Faux News, according to half a dozen studies, is the absolute worst. When Fox viewers answer questions on current events, their scores are below zero!

  • Bill

Trust in the news media may be low but not as low as trust in government.

    • Lt

Main stream media is the propaganda arm of the corporatist controlled Government of America. MSM portrays the false images economically and socially (political correctness) that the corporate run Government wants its people to see and hear. This is how the Government engages us in multi trillion dollar unwinnable wars and racks up tens of trillions of dollars of unpayable debt and a thousand other crimes committed by Washington and Wall Street in which the perpetrators never get punished. MSM provides the cover and the cover up for the crimes by the plutocracy who run this country. Without the complicity of the main stream media – The plutocracy could have never taken control of our country. Indeed, the MSM is the propaganda whore for the corporate controlled Government of the U.S.

      • Bill

When I went to school 1984 was in the future, now it’s history. A smart, strong, and happy people are no more. Perhaps that’s the way way we were all along. Just a bunch of sheeple zombies doing what the “thought police” tell us.

        • Thomas Siebert

          It’s not “1984.” It’s “Brave New World.”

In “1984,” freedom is taken from people. In “Brave New World,” they just give it up because the distractions are so fun. That’s where we are.

Politicians are bums, drawing checks for doing nothing to benefit the American people. Most never worked for a living and are on the take for grant money, etc., will do anything they are told. Voting is a crock of BS, even the Boston Globe had an article on puppet politicians that are controlled the other day and what a farce voting was.

    • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

But people do believe what they read in the newspaper. They assume that the reporter has the facts, and that the account is unbiased.

  • K

At one time. The news department on most major networks, were not expected to turn a profit. Now they are expected to turn a profit. In short they are up for sale. And to most of us, it is obvious.

    • Kim

u nailed it K. it’s all about the money.

    • jaxon64

K, I knew that the media was irrelevant as far as honest news when they began to officially come out with statements like this…..
“The Washington Post today announced its endorsement of Barak Obama for president…..blah blah blah”
Once they have unabashedly reached the point where they openly choose a side and announce their support of one point of view, political candidate, progressive agenda etc–then they cease to be reporters and instead have become advocates ( or mouthpieces)

  • kHRIStu4

The media are a bunch of gay Isalm extremists, lol! Oh oh, I am so un-PC. Anyways, I thought everyone always thought it was cool to be a “rebel” and go against anything mainstream or government, what happened to this stoned burnout hippies? Lol!!! Suckers.

    • apeiron

The ‘Question Authority’ bumper stickers all got peeled off ’08-’09ish.

      • Tom_F

@apeiron, that was awesome. Not all will ‘get it’, but the right ones will.

  • Born Again

Media is losing control, Thanks God it is about time.
Wake up and wake up those around you who are still sleeping.
Get rid of the TV poison.

    • smallergovnow

Don’t be so fast to believe they are losing control my friend. I would like to believe that but they will do anything to stay in power. The level of in your face lies though has never been higher…

      • Midwesterner

Have to agree with you. They will simply regulate it with legislation, like they have all of our freedoms, and they will once again control the narrative.

        • Zirion

I think its not the alternatives which robs the viewers from the tv’s, i think its just the increasing poverty in the USA. More Homeless- less watching TV. My thesis would fit perfect to the last Quarter numbers of Walmart&Co.

  • Thiagarajan TVS

    Dear Michael,
You brought out the truth as you do normally on man y other
‘issues. Today when nations are going through crises of
crippling nature, people need to know quickly to prepare
for the collapse of economies. Unfortunately, neither media
nor journalists are well equipped to report all the crises
    that peop0le ought to know.
One , what is important to the masses may not be important to the media as well as journalists. Two, every j0urnalist reports
what he or she feels appropriate. . Three, on an issue, five
journalists report in five different ways.
Today no one tells the truth. In fact, more and more truthful
information is found in your articles.! To believe you and act, you cannot be alone. So, people will dismiss all the truths you portray in your articles. What we don’t understand is
is that we are all individuals, and as individuals our uniqueness demonstrated! You are unique in telling the
truth. If people are used to lies, truths will be uncomfortable.
The fact now is that the collapse of stock market is imminent.
The other fact is that we all have been brought up
to remain close-minded, and we will remain impervious
    to truths!
That we are heading towards massive crises will not be
let out. Leaders will have to use diction to paint economic
    picture well.
Finally, we still don’t want to believe that God is changing
the world through numberless crises. Climate change is a
misnomer. Disasters and diseases will play havoc on the
economies. No one will come tour rescue. Look at
Ebola-infected West African countries. Look at their
    economic conditions.

Social media is the 21st century’s media.

  • DeadManFromIndia

MSM is losing relevance and in turn Big Internet is controlling it. Facebook has an algorithm which restricts what you see, google algorithm also filters out what you are not likely to see. Google and Facebook are deciding what you like.

“What would you say if I told you that there are just six enormous media conglomerates that combine to produce about 90 percent of all the media that Americans consume?”

I’d say stop asking me damn fool questions and just tell me that there are just six enormous media conglomerates that combine to produce about 90 percent of all the media that Americans consume.

    Next question?

    • harshmellow

Richard, I don’t come to this site to read your rude griping of Michael’s work. If you need to tell people how to write go teach a class or something please.

      • Kent Harris

I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of Richard.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

Add #11 You are capable of creating your own media outlet

First, go online and find an out-of-print book called “How to Do Leaflets, Pamphlets, Newsletters, and Newspapers” by Nancy Brigham. This teaches how the news industry works. A good computer, website, and some good marketing; you got it.

Next, if you want to broadcast news videos, just find a basics book on how to do Indy Films (similar enough). We have a green screen in our home for the kids to mess around with: free program download and some clearance fabric. Except we use a $20 cam instead of a decent professional media one; quality isn’t the best – get a good camera. Start with a YouTube account; after enough hits get a webpage and some sponsors.

Video games, movies, radio, theatrical performances – all of this and more can be done by practically anyone now. The information on how to do it is out there. Go get it and have some laughs, see what happens.

  • harshmellow

I wonder if the “business correspondents” are in bed with the big banks when they tell you to lock in your mortgage (at a higher rate of course). Here in Canada our central bank has kept rates super low for years with no sign of increase in the near future, which I suspect has hurt the retail banks bottom line.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

Check out Gamergate: consumers are rebelling against the media.

  • greanfinisher .

The American mainstream media is heavily suppressed, biased and censored. In virtually all respects, it smacks of a government controlled media. So much in fact that one can derive far better information from Pravda and Xinhua.

  • patriot alice

The way to end wars is to stop listening to the News. Stop Ebola? Turn the News off, problem solved. Want to be happier? Turn the News off. That’s right I just stick my head in the sand, since it the only control I have.

I did the exact same thing. I was unhappy reading the newspaper,i stopped it. And i am happier now.

If I watch US news I turn down the volume and just look at the picture. I usually get my news from Zerohedge and some times I look at RT news. Being outside the US the news coverage and stories are often quite different.

  • Michael, you have to stop this Steelers vs. Cowboys crap about the US media (my football analogy from the 80s when I would cheer on the Dallas Cowboys!).

There is only one Presstitute Lamestream Media in the US that is the stenographer for the 1%!

“Left” (PBSNPRETC) and “right” (FOXTALKRADIOETC) have no substantial meaning when they both serve their Corporate and Government masters!  NPR is sponsored by Corporations!  FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc. are all owned by Corporations!

BTW, check out Chu’s News! Commenting & reporting between the Lies! @escapepatagonia

  • Jackie Milton

We have 40% of the population that are raving lunatics if they still trust the media or the goverment.

A dismal situation. Dismal. The dumbing down of the population is reaching its logical conclusion.

The MSM has become nothing but the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. Those of us who still think, about 30MM I would say, definitely look at other outlets for our serious news. The internet has spelled the death knell for the MSM and they know it. I can remember a time when the Big 3, the NYT and WAPO pretty much called the shots in America. By and large, they were largely trusted. A big favorite in my household was the Huntley, Brinkley Show. In 15 minutes, they gave you a recap of the day and you believed them. Yes, they were always very friendly with the Left. It is under Obama they really got into bed and…we know it. We know we have been played. We know they gave BO a free pass, overlooking his past, his Marxism. We have been betrayed and are angry. That is why the MSM is in the Toilet and will stay there. How can we trust these people again? How do we dare to trust them?

    • Gay Veteran

uh no, the New York Times was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the start of Bush’s war of aggression against Iraq

Are we to trust the MSM about Ebola? My feeling is that there are other cases but that news has been suppressed. My feeling is the situation is much worse than anyone is letting on. Maybe we are touch paranoid? We have reason to be. Trust has been lost. The British press, much livelier than ours, provides much better coverage than our homegrown rags. An independent press, like the formerly independent American People, has pretty much died in America. We look elsewhere.

They have an agenda and it is not good for us or America. Now Obama is talking about a one party system which sounds like a dictatorship to me and most likely the propagandists (news media ) will get behind it and brainwash the uninformed. Let’s kill the media dead, boycott all their sponcers and their stations, because they are behind the selling out to the totalitarian take over of America by the bankers. Hit them where it hurts the most…..their wallets for their unpatriotic actions against the American people. They are also engaged in the coverup of the creation of the pandemic caused by the illegal aliens infection of our school children and the coverup of the creation of the Ebola pandemic. Kill the news media dead, like they want to kill us dead, with their overpopulation BS. Time to take back this country and put them all in jail, before we are dead.

  • Big Italy

Im 65 yrs old – the news today is all about ratings and profit – they lead you into stories with the appropriate rock song and then lead you out the same way. What happen to the investigating reporter? A big news story used to be on 24/7….I watch fox some of the time and when a big story happens Bill O’Reilly and others still go on with this shows – makes no sense to me. So, I end up not watching as much as I used too, I go to drudge for most of my news today.

  • julio

Haha, the only way the media loses popularity is if they want it that way! We must realize the real people that run the media and every other industry. What we see is always, what they want us to see!!

  • frank1569

So-called ‘mainstream media,’ or Big Corporate Media, may shrink a bit, but it will always win, because it knows something we don’t: the vast majority of people only watch and/or read what reinforces what they already believe.

Example: guy wakes up, watches FOX ‘news’; drives to work listening to right-wing hate radio; checks right-wing news websites all day; watches more FOX ‘news’ after work.

Example 2: guy wakes up, watches ‘The Today Show’; drives to work listening to Howard Stern or music (there is no left-wing hate radio,); checks liberal/progressive websites all day; watches network news after work.

After years and years of this, both guys are basically brainwashed and neither will ever watch and read what the other watches and reads, because both believe only they know the ‘real’ truth and that the other is brainwashed.

Meanwhile, Big Corporate Media will keep reminding you that the ‘internet’ is full of misinformation and rumor while their reporting is fair, balanced, trustworthy and comprehensive.

    • David_R59

      “no left-wing hate radio.”
Try being a Christian for a day and listen to the bias and hatred; you’ll see that you’re wrong.

      • frank1569

70% of the country is Christian. Stop pretending to be some sort of victim.

        • Krugg_the_Patriot

He isn’t being a victim… left-wing radio hates Christians. Like 70% of this country is actually christian. That’s laughable right there… sure people might click christian in some survey.. doesn’t make it true. If it were true, that Mayor in Houston would have been ran out of town by now.

  • piccadillybabe

For anyone in this day in age to limit themselves to cable news media is synonymous to living under a rock. There is a whole world out there on the internet of interesting articles, radio, blog sites, podcasts and live video on which to feast your eyes and ears. Why is Michael so popular? Because he makes us think, deduct and deduce with the information he provides his readership. Americans need to become critical thinkers if nothing else. It seems that is happening and many have cut their cable TV service as why pay to be told tall tales.

    • David_R59

The big change is just starting. It will be interesting to see what changes will come about over the next 5 years or so.

  • Radioactive Man

“…I get my news from Jewish news outlets, alternative media sites cns,
newsmax, minuteman news, tea party news network, for example)…”

So, pretty much all right-wing-agenda-based opinion-masquerading-as-news outlets, then?

    • jazzword78

Sites that report honest news–of course, a liberal would see it differently.

      • Radioactive Man

I called them exactly, precisely what they are. CNS, Newsmax, etc. are *overtly* biased right-wing media organizations. So you get one very titled side of the story, for sure… as someone above posted, most people only pay attention to outlets that agree with their existing views; congratulations, you are one of the crowd!

  • Rob W

This was a change of pace; a good news article!

  • Gay Veteran

    Is the media “liberal”?

    You ultimately answered that question:

“…What would you say if I told you that there are just six enormous media conglomerates that combine to produce about 90 percent of all the media that Americans consume?….”

the word you seek is FASCISM, the merger of state and corporate power

  • Armed Resistance

And the truth shall set you free!

  • peace angel

Yes, but Obama has and has had since the beginning of his reign, tens of thousands of tax payer trolls, computer hacks and disinformationists all over the internet news sites as well.

AND Murdoch is a 98 degree Free Mason and a disinformationist puppet. O”Reilly is a DI puppet also.

  • Orange Jean

There is a little thing called the “brain”… which all of us were gifted with. I’d like to see more people use it though!

I don’t believe the “mainstream” media is telling us the truth, but if you look at both left and right I figure the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. So I look at both. I also look at a range of alternative media and blogs, but have the same skepticism towards them and look and think about what is said there as well. OFTEN I find the ones that allow comments (such as this site) are the most interesting and offer food for thought.

One of the reasons I don’t blindly follow alternative media is some of it is outright nuts (my opinion)! For example, I started looking at “before it’s news” (a suggestion of Peace Angel and something I believe Michael posts on also). There are some interesting things there (tho I get frustrated with the ones that are mostly videos, since I can’t see them… on dial-up internet my tolerance for “streaming” things has been exceeded long ago), there are other things that are totally unbelievable.

As an example, on that site there have been a series of articles about people with Rh-negative blood. According to them, people who are Rh- are either lizards, dragons, descendants of aliens from outer space, members of the British royal family, and/or kill and eat babies. I happen to have Rh- blood, as does my son. I can totally 100% assure you… neither of us are: lizards, dragons, descendants of aliens from outer space, members of the British royal family, and/or kill and eat babies. I find the whole concept that is being pushed as not only ridiculous and illogical, no basis in reality… but also potentially dangerous, as I can imagine someone with those concepts possibly targeting those of us who are Rh- for elimination. Enough with the nonsense already! Use your bean… which the good Lord gave ya!

  • jaxon64

    nailed it….

  • One thing the US news media does not want us to know is the fact that banks create nearly all money out of thin air, not a democratically elected government, and that any semblance of democracy in government is subordinated to the money power of the bankers who do that and connected industrialists. Were this fact made widely known and pinpointed as the cause of most of the inflation, debt, and misery in the world, the public would see through the “liberal”, “moderate”, and “conservative” charade of today’s politics and there would be a revolution within weeks.

I can see other changes happening in Western society in ways similar to what is happening in the news media.
McDonalds and CocaCola have just reported poor sales etc. All of those GMO labelling laws that have been defeated over the last couple of years are nevertheless starting to open the eyes of more and more people as to the dangers of GMOs and herbicides. Organic food sales are quickly starting to rise now so the anti-GMO battle will be won eventually despite the millions spent by food manufacturers and attempts by the media to suppress the truth.
This appears to be a sign that people in general are starting to wake up to the lies being told them by politicians and most of the media, and are starting to dig a little deeper into what’s really going on around them.
Ebola will probably be the huge awakening when the public eventually realize that the media has kept the simple, cheap, non-drug cure for Ebola quiet by censoring all news that names it.
It can take many years to build up trust; it can take very little to lose that trust.

Oh yeah, like I’m going to believe a left-wing biased site like that!

From an old guy,, the media has always been liberal. It is just that today’s media is over the top and politically correct too. They make me want to vomit!

Electing even a few Libertarians to a governing board, is akin to having a designated driver in a roomful of drunks.

There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism — by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide. – Ayn Rand, LA Times, 9/2/62

the news media is a medium for moving info and it is moved through the air. Satan is not in Hell, not yet, but he has access to Heaven, actually and abides in the first heaven; the air. He is “….prince of the power of the air”. So I wouldn’t hold out hope for the demise of the media, unless of course we were coming to the end of the world as you know it.

I used to watch CNN but saw through their crap and stopped watching them about 13 years ago. Started watching Fox News only and while Fox News is better than any other alternative they are nothing more than controlled opposition. Now, I don’t watch any cable news channels. I get all my news and information from the web.

I just today, canceled my newspaper subscription because of so much liberal left wing content, it makes me sick to think these people actually believe everyone is sitting on the stupid bench.

I’ve heard talk that there is an 11th thing too.

Independent news from youtube has an honest agenda like “RT” or “TYT” and the second they get bought out by any large corp their viewership dies as well it should.

Its all infotainment now. If it bleeds it leads……They sure are a small part of where I go for news.

  • We all noticed the change when media stopped serving the public and clearly dove head first into agendas. The garbage they spew hasn’t even been entertaining and people are sick and tired of being manipulated. On top of all that, for some bizarre reason they seem to think we would PAY for online versions of their garbage. They’ve done it to themselves, and hopefully the ones who did this to us will suffer the worst of all losses and join the ranks of the food-stamp unemployed for the rest of their lives. It didn’t have to be this way.

I have been ringing this bell for years and it is only recently that a large number of my friends and family have decided to invest the time and effort necessary to bypass the Ruling Class Media Maginot Line of Deception and the HEAVILY redacted daily spew that call “news” and become much better informed. I have tried everything I could think of for years to get people I care about to become actively engaged in gathering their own news rather then just accept the throughly sanitized and Ruling Class approved version of news that Big Media dispenses, but they were simply unwilling to invest the time.

The bottom line is, the “news” media in this country is TIGHTLY controlled, and I mean tight like a hermetically sealed drum. The supposedly freest country in the world now has a media that is totally subservient to their Ruling Class owners (left and right, but mostly left) and that media does it utmost to throttle any discussions/facts/questions that might serve to oppose the the Ruling Class agenda.

But what lit the information seeking fire under the previously lazy and disinterested? Thats easy – Obamesiahcare and the threat by Obamesiah to continue to flood the country with even more illegal DemocRAT voters who will work cheap and let the federal government “gift” them whatever they can’t provide for themselves, all at YOUR expense.

The loss of existing health insurance, the MASSIVE increases in insurance premiums and deductibles and the part-timing of more and more jobs as wrought by Obamesiahcare was probably the tipping point, and I have been dilligently pointing my friends and family to websites that explain in detail how much worse it will get AFTER this next election. The demonRATs have crossed the Rubicon with Obamesiahcare and even their Ruling Class controlled media buddies will not be able to save them from it. That said, I have very little faith in the GOPe to change anything other than their titles, offices and face-time on Sunday media shows if the Senate filps to their control.

The newest phase seems to be closing comment threads in order to eliminate the sharing of truthful information. Can’t have anyone logically pointing out the lies . . .
