12 Charts That Show The Permanent Damage That Has Been Done To The U.S. Economy

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

12 - Public DomainMost people that discuss the “economic collapse” focus on what is coming in the future.  And without a doubt, we are on the verge of some incredibly hard times.  But what often gets neglected is the immense permanent damage that has been done to the U.S. economy by the long-term economic collapse that we are already experiencing.  In this article I am going to share with you 12 economic charts that show that we are in much, much worse shape than we were five or ten years ago.  The long-term problems that are eating away at the foundations of our economy like cancer have not been fixed.  In fact, many of them continue to get even worse year after year.  But because unprecedented levels of government debt and reckless money printing by the Federal Reserve have bought us a very short window of relative stability, most Americans don’t seem too concerned about our long-term problems.  They seem to have faith that our “leaders” will be able to find a way to muddle through whatever challenges are ahead.  Hopefully this article will be a wake up call.  The last major wave of the economic collapse did a colossal amount of damage to our economic foundations, and now the next major wave of the economic collapse is rapidly approaching.

#1 Employment

The mainstream media is constantly telling us about the “employment recovery” that is happening in the United States, but the truth is that it is just an illusion.  As the chart below demonstrates, just prior to the last recession about 63 percent of all working age Americans had a job.  During the last wave of the economic collapse, that number dropped to below 59 percent and stayed there for a very long time.  In the past few months we have finally seen the employment-population ratio tick back up to 59 percent, but we are still far, far below where we used to be.  To call the tiny little bump at the end of this chart a “recovery” is really an insult to our intelligence…

#2 The Labor Force Participation Rate

The percentage of Americans that are either employed or currently looking for a job started to fall during the last recession and it has not stopped falling since then.  The labor force participation rate has now fallen to a 36 year low, and this is a sign of a very, very sick economy…

Labor Force Participation Rate 2014

#3 The Inactivity Rate For Men In Their Prime Years

Some blame the decline in the labor force participation rate on the aging of our population.  But it isn’t just elderly people that are dropping out of the labor force.  In fact, the inactivity rate for men in their prime working years (25 to 54) continues to rise and is now at the highest level that has ever been recorded…

#4 Manufacturing Employees

Once upon a time in America, anyone that was reliable and willing to work hard could easily find a manufacturing job somewhere.  But we have stood by and allowed millions upon millions of good paying manufacturing jobs to be shipped out of the country, and now many of our formerly great manufacturing cities have been transformed into ghost towns.  Over the past few years, there has been a slight “recovery”, but we are still well below where we were at just previous to the last recession…

#5 Our Current Account Balance

As a nation, we buy far more from the rest of the world than they buy from us.  In other words, we perpetually consume far more wealth than we produce.  This is a recipe for national economic suicide.  Our current account balance soared to obscene levels just prior to the last recession, and now we have almost gotten back to those levels…

Current Account Balance 2014

#6 Existing Home Sales

Our economy has never fully recovered from the housing crash of 2007-2008.  As you can see from the chart below, the number of existing home sales is still far below the level that we hit back in 2006.  At this point we are just getting back to the level we were at in 2000, but our population today is far larger than it was back then…

Existing Home Sales 2014

#7 New Home Sales

Things are even more dramatic when you look at new home sales.  This is an industry that have been absolutely emasculated.  The number of new home sales in the United States is just a little more than half of what it was back in 2000, and it isn’t even worth comparing to what we experienced during the peak of 2006.

New Home Sales 2014

#8 The Monetary Base

In a desperate attempt to get the economy going again, the Federal Reserve has been wildly printing money.  It has been so reckless that it is hard to put it into words.  When I look at this chart, the phrase “Weimar Republic” comes to mind…

Monetary Base 2014

#9 Food Inflation

Thankfully, much of the money that the Federal Reserve has been injecting into the system has not made it into the real economy.  But enough of it has gotten into the system to force food prices significantly higher.  For example, my wife went to the store today and paid just a shade under 10 bucks for just four pieces of chicken.  And as you can see from the chart below, food prices have been steadily going up in America for a very long time…

Food Inflation 2014

#10 The Velocity Of Money

One of the reasons why we have not seen even more inflation is because the velocity of money is extraordinarily low.  In general, when an economy is healthy money tends to flow through the system rapidly.  People are buying and selling and money changes hands frequently.  But when an economy is sick, money tends to stagnate.  And that is exactly what is happening in the United States right now.  In fact, at this point the velocity of the M2 money stock has dropped to the lowest level ever recorded…

Velocity Of Money 2014

#11 The National Debt

As our economic fundamentals have deteriorated, our politicians have attempted to prop up our standard of living by borrowing from the future.  The U.S. national debt is on pace to approximately double during the Obama years, and it increased by more than a trillion dollars in fiscal year 2014 alone.  Despite assurances that “the deficit is under control”, the federal government borrows about a trillion dollars a year to fund new spending in addition to borrowing about 7 trillion dollars to pay off old debt that is coming due.  What we are doing to future generations of Americans is absolutely criminal, and it is just a matter of time before this Ponzi scheme totally collapses…

National Debt 2014

#12 Total Debt

Of course it is not just the federal government that is gorging on debt.  When you add up all forms of debt in our society (government, business, consumer, etc.) it comes to a grand total of more than 57 trillion dollars.  This total has more than doubled since the year 2000…

Total Debt 2014

If you know anyone that believes that we are in good economic shape, just show them these charts.

The numbers do not lie.  Our economy is sick and it is getting sicker by the day.

And of course the next major financial crisis could strike at any time.  U.S. stocks just experienced their worst week in three years, and if cases of Ebola start popping up around the country the fear that would cause could collapse our economy all by itself.

The debt-fueled prosperity that we are enjoying today is not real.  We are living on the fumes of our past, and every single day our long-term problems get even worse.

Anyone with half a brain should be able to see what is coming.

Sadly, most Americans will continue to deny the truth until it is far too late.

  • Lt

These charts depict a dying economy and a dying nation. The prosperity we enjoy is all an illusion based upon debt – a debt so large that it can never be paid by our children or our children’s children. The politicians are today out there campaigning and talking trash – none of them mention any of these 12 charts. The media gives the politicians a free pass by not calling them on the true state of our nations economy as shown in these charts. They are all complicit in the ruination of our country. All the while the everyday American goes about his blissful way, not realizing that utter disaster awaits just around the corner. Americans will not awaken till there is blood in the streets of America. Of course, by then – it will be too late.

    • alan

The only way out is debt jubilee and no more debt!
The laws and regulation have strangle the country, no one can go forward with out law suits. The infrastructure is in bad shape now too. All the jobs are gone.

      • oldbat

there is NO jubilee in the new testament. plenty of warnings against debt, though.

        • ejhr

Jubilee is in the Old Testament, but apparently never actually tried.

          • Lt

What do you know – a fool and an idiot who is an expert on both India and the Old Testament.

      • Richard O. Mann

It would cause a world wide economic shut down.

        • ejhr

That is unavoidable! All we lack is the date.

      • Firstgarden

What a theocratic Jubilee will not bring about, due to its absence, the forces of nature will, and in the most rude of fashions.

      • Hammerstrike

No, these are only secondary to the most pressing problem, the current economic system.

This system is neither capitalism nor socialism, it is financialist oligarchy, it redistribute the wealth of entire nations to a chosen few for over a 100 years in the US and at least circa 200 years in the case of Britain.

      • Orange Jean

The only people I’ve ever heard who think “jubilee” is a great idea are those who owe money. If someone owed you money, would you think that’s such a great idea?

I’ve been in debt myself, had to chip away bit at a time but I’ve been debt free for over a year and it feels great! I suggest you try it, instead of expecting others to pay what you owe.

        • ejhr

Minnows like you and me can do that. but the Banksters deserve to lose it all. Why protect them? They know the risks.

        • hazlitt777

Even if a debt jubilee were offered, which I think would be a good idea, it would still be difficult if no more debt were allowed to accrue. That is, imagine if we had to live within our means from this day forward…even if the debt were forgiven. Think of how severely government spending would have to be cut back both domestically and in our foreign wars.

      • ejhr

Debt Jubilee is not necessary for government debt, but probably the only way for bank debts standing now at $710 trillion!

    • Guest

“All the while the everyday American goes about his blissful way, not realizing that utter disaster awaits just around the corner.”

It’s true. My coworkers, for example, don’t seem to have a clue as to what’s coming. But it’s understandable. I mean, the economy in this area is pretty good. However, this area wasn’t immune to the last economic downturn and won’t be immune to the next one.

      • william mony

I am in Maryland and I see the same.
        But the judgement is coming.
I implore All who do not know Jesus to accept him now. Eternity is a long time and the little suffering we experience here will be long forgotten in heaven with our Lord.

        • Radioactive Man

And Jesus has what to do with the economy, exactly?

          • Firstgarden

He has nothing to do with the economy. No wonder it’s such a mess.

          • Hammerstrike

            True.

          • D

It has to do with being able to accept and cope with the results of the dying economy, if and when the full effect of it is realized and finally hits home, the inevitable truth out there for all to see and no longer deniable. That’s what it has to do with Jesus, as do a lot of things in this world have to do with Him, as Lord, God and Savior. It’s where one places one’s trust, when all else fails, which will surely be trying if the economy collapses, or so one would think.

          • Radioactive Man

I cope with the world around me just fine without relying on supernatural cultish claptrap.

          • lasflklibsareshitay3oi2ij23i4

            lmao

          • Ron

You think? And He loves you even though you deny His existence!

          • Radioactive Man

He doesn’t exist. He died a long, long time ago, a mortal man and nothing more.

          • Btty

LOL, well you at least admit he existed at one time. We believe he rose up again.

          • william mony

I will pray for you radioactive man
he is coming soon I assure you

          • Btty

That’s your right to believe whatever you want. It’s called free will and God gave it to you. But don’t try to convince those of us who believe that it’s supernatural, cultish claptrap because we know your wrong. We also have been blessed with free will and we choose to believe in our Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

          • 35wormhole

god is a IFOFIB(imaginary friend or foe irrational belief)

          • Btty

Well, we see what were left with when people like you with your kind of belief is taking God out of everything. It sure doesn’t look to good. Yet when people believed and followed the Lord our country was a lot better off. Wouldn’t you rather believe in the Lord and follow him and then die and find out he doesn’t exist rather than not believe and follow nothing but yourself die and fine out Holy Cow there he is and now what do I do? Your out of luck then.

          • yasin

You have a point but if people choose not to believe in god then its there provocative nothong they say or do diminishs gods sovernien so dont get annoyed about what they say. Anyway take care and jesus is a messenger of god thats why we died for god is no mortal he is divine and there is nothing like unto him peace

          • David S

There is no God the human race made it all up…

          • btty

Go ahead and believe whatever you want. God gave you free will. He doesn’t ask much of us. He only asks that we believe. If you don’t want to then you will be judged accordingly. Having said that all you have to do is look at our history. We were a much better country when we believed in God and our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since people have turned their backs on him look at the mess we have to deal with today! It sucks big time. Our country is not a better country today.

          • David S

I love when idiots write me back. You have helped destroy and kill for the sake of God. Whether your a Baptist or Muslim Radical your all in it together. In today’s day and age you really believe in a God, really… Wow. When you die you really think there are billions and billions of people in some infinite area just waiting for you to arrive.

          • VB

There are plenty of people who trust gods. They’re the ones who get washed away in hurricanes and tsunamis because they stand their praying instead of running. God loves humans so much he murders them by the tens of thousands with natural disasters. What a guy!!!

          • william mony

I COULD NOT OF SAID IT BETTER
            JESUS IS LORD AND KING!!

          • Malfador

Well if you’re low on cash and you can find the made up guy, he’s worth 30 silver!

          • Moma Kathy

Jesus has nothing to do with the economy or stock market, he just warned us that critical times are coming, such as has not been seen befoe. I too would say get things right with God and then you’ll be ready whichever way the economy goes.

          • jox

People like you are telling the same since the year 1000. Move on!

          • jox

Irrational people of several religions cannot talk about something without referring to God in the second sentence.

          • william mony

Everything. He is the Lord of all. He created it all and will end it all.
We were successful as a nation when God was first. Now that the arrogance and sin has caught up to the US and we threw Jesus out of schools and daily life we are in a downward spiral.
Don’t take my word at all. Read the BIBLE. See what happens to nations that pursue evil and create their own moral code
And forget about where all that prosperity came from.

Soon, we enter in the most confusing time in history. All will have to make a decision. You will not be able to buy or sell (thats the economy) without the mark if the beast. No one will enter heaven that gets the mark or implant. People of all the world will have to chose. The man enforcing this will claim to be Jesus.
            So, what will you do?

          • David S

Who cares what this dribble is your saying about the “Lord”, we are going down like the Titanic and guess what I do not care how much you thump that bible, its the basis for the pack of lies you listen too and still believe this country is alright. Because people like you believe in lies to begin with. Think of it like this the Ponzi Scheme the United States has been a part of for the past 60 years plays perfectly into the people that think a God exist. Your already brain washed, and easy to manipulate. So they tell use lies and guess what everyone “Believes”. Thus you change the subject not talking about the current state of the economy but the Lord our Savior. Yeah Right, when you die your worm meat nothing more. But while your alive your living in a horrible state, thinking it will get better as you eat dog food, or even your dog, thumping that bible all the way into the ground.

          • btty

Time will tell buddy but I will never have my faith tested by someone like you. Your a lost soul and I hope you see the light soon. If not bye bye.

          • David S

Your a pathetic hopeless idiot. You and the rest of the idiots killing and destroying for the sake of something they think is real. Could careless if your a Baptist or Muslim Radical, your all in the same boat. Believing in something not real.

          • william mony

            plenty
it has to do with eternal LIFE WITH HIM IN HEAVEN
            OR SUFFERING IN HELL

    • XSANDIEGOCA

Tipping Point? We are way past the Tipping Point.

    • laura m.

Politicians are useless bums, most never held a real job. They are bought by special interest groups and never do anything that benefits the people/country. Voting is useless and polls are rigged. Our small group recently discussed and wondered why patriot websites/newssites just don’t shut down, since all is lost and this country has a zero future no matter what we say or do as there are too few patriots left to matter now. I don’t mean prepper websites selling supplies that people need that will shut down later when everything collapses. Raising kids today is useless and unfair.

      • Captain Beefheart

When people put money and the flesh above God things happen.

        • Radioactive Man

          What a wonderfully vague statement.

        • Malfador

So you’ve given all your money away and will sacrifice yourself? I thought not.

        • ejhr

Incredible way to waste your money. Even if God exists what would he do with money?

          • laura m.

Capt. B & ejhr: What our church teaches is to help needy children (several group homes in my area) and other people in need not caused by refusing to work, etc. for ex. elderly hit by misfortune like medical, sick spouse, etc. I attend a non 501c3 fellowship either in homes or small groups the best way, ditch the gov irs controlled churhes now!.

          • ejhr

But all that is not due to religion. A moral compass precedes religion. Religion just assumes that role to help it keep people believing. You don’t need to believe in a god to be moral or to do good.

All is not lost. From the ashes of the fallen will rise a force that will unite nations and purge the evil from the surface of this world.

        • Oh, please–we’re in enough trouble without dragging mysticism into it.

          • Hammerstrike

            No religion in this.

Just my intution that they are not going to win.
Also, an extended explanation on how totalitarian states works or in this case, doesn´t work.

    • Drud

You are correct that the debt is impossible to pay off, and we have sold out many future generations. Ultimately, debt will go away and, quite possibly, even the concept of the Nation State. Again, ultimately, this will be good for the species and for the planet..but the path there will be very long and difficult and many will not make it.
Someone on this thread mentioned that they are almost rooting for Ebola to take off. Reluctantly, I must agree. Either pandemic or sudden catastrophic grid collapse are the most fair and quickest ways out of the mess we are in. Either would be disastrous of course, but still better than the long, painful slide into hell which we all face on our current path.

    • seth datta

Its pointless to blame one man, Obama, when clearly one man cannot be responsible for all of this. No, that is unfair and also idiocy. It is the banker cabal, their supporters (whomever you deem, there is some argument here) and the general population who would rather knuckle down and pay taxes to a genocidal regime rather than go in a different direction, all of whom are to blame. This holds for any nation, ten times so in the west as this is where the vast majority of economic and political power is.

We genocide muslims abroad for oil and political power, we genocide whites at home via abortion and by proxy via mass immigration that results from a declining birthrate and we destroy Christians and all manner of righteous people the world over via social manipulations. This is unsustainable and immoral – general taxation of western nations contributes to this abomination. Not only this, but along with the Anglo nations and Europe, Russia is involved too as they are a false rival and were taken over by the bankers in 1917. If there is a last war, it will be the west versus them.

P.S.: After they finish using ISIS etc to restructure the middle east, in ten to fifteen years, they will finish ‘re-structuring’ white people. I went out into town today and most folk act like idiots who think that the good stuff we have is going to last forever – their weakness enables such a regime. They are blind and in their blindness do wickedly – this is the vast majority of western peoples. Whether or not you believe in a God, a Christian God, and a well-structured society, the west is the complete opposite of that and has been for at least two decades if not more. You cannot blame this on any one group – the entire society has become remoulded to be a bastion of irresponsibility for what our taxes are used to pay for and a re-make of Nazi-ism and totalitarianism combined. This is unacceptable and one day the peoples of the west, especially the Anglo nations (US, UK, Israel, Canada, Aus, NZ and Ireland) at a minimum must reap the illness that they continue to sow, and the people that enable this beast (the vast majority of the citizens) are guilty of committing crimes against humankind by proxy and committing sin against God, including a Christian God. We have all been warned so whomever does not repent nor right him or herself is the most to blame.

Prayer is a way which achieves absolutely nothing!. Can you name a single disease solved by prayer, compared to science?

        • justa guy on the street

It kept me from dying. Is that enough for you? Probably not but was for me. In this beautiful country we have, how about I promise to not make you pray if you promise to not try and keep me from doing so? Why can’t we just be cool with that?
PS- I LOVE science too! I do pray (every day) BUT I also lock my doors.

          • ejhr

It’s certainly your choice. We all can be and often are irrational, so I’ve no problem with sincere belief. And it’s nobody’s business but yours.

          • jox

If you expose your beliefs in a public forum, then it becomes everybody’s business.

          • Lt

One man’s irrationality is another man’s rationality. The overwhelming majority of those who commit the crimes against others hold the same beliefs that you do – Namely, that prayer is worthless. Belief in socalled science which is what you believe in is a “belief system” – a very foolish “belief system” but never the less that is your belief. What we are witnessing today in this world is science under the “control” of wicked men – yes, I said wicked men. They have ruined our nation and are on the verge of doing the same to the whole world. So, it is not the condition of one’s mind (intelligent, believe in science to solve man’s problems) but rather the condition of man’s heart (Righteous or wicked). That is what determines man’s destiny – not your self satisfying, feeble minded belief system. Get a life man.

          • ejhr

The exact opposite of what you say is more likely!!!
            Let me give just one example;
A tribe in Eastern India venerated their forest and supported it. Then they were converted to Christianity . So then the forest became a resource and it was chopped down.
Religion says weare special and have dominion over the world. But it’s not science that is trashing it today. It’s religion instilled belief that we can do what we want. Well, we can’t!
You need to wake up, man. You are sleepwalking to extinction!

          • Lt

You are the deluded one with such nonsensical irrationality. Name the tribe fool, which comprised such great travesty upon the world. There are millions of Christians right here under your nose who built hospitals and provide medical care for millions – even lame brain idiots like you. Fools like you are difficult to reason with, because they are mentally unbalanced having believed their own lies. Get a life fool.

I could say “God made me an atheist,

“Its pointless to blame one man, Obama, when clearly one man cannot be responsible for all of this.”

First off it would be pointless to blame Obama because he didn’t cause the housing bubble/burst, the financial crisis or the global recession. .He also didn’t cause the explosion of debt in the U.S since the 1980’s or the structural changes in the economy that has taken place.

The kind of people that blame Obama are obviously utterly clueless about economics and are generally the people that think mainstream news, etc. is an actually representation of reality versus what it is which is nothing more then the propaganda arm of the establishment.

The entire world economy in general is now sick, All of the individual exchange agreements between countries like China, Brazil, Russia and countries they wish to continue to do business with should be like a beacon alerting those who pay attention that things are about to change. I really wonder how many people realize just how quickly things can change, and not for the better like they hope. You could wake up one morning and find that the dollar is extinct and you are forced (by your own government) to exchange all of your dollars for some other worthless fiat currency and you take a 90% haircut in doing so.

And those of you who believe that physical metals will be your salvation, remember when Roosevelt made ownership of gold illegal and forced everyone (everyone who didn’t sneak it out of the country like most of the connected uber-wealthy did and will again) to turn it over to the federal government for a pittance of its real worth.

The whipping boy untermenchen must pay for the sins and stupidity of their “betters”.

    • Scottsman

I happen to agree with you but what can the average American who is awake really do other than manage their own debt and do at least a little prepping ? At least here in Texas, we have a little brighter forecast but otherwise, the average Citizen has no say, no representation in Government. Take for example the Ebola Crisis. “Thinking” Americans overwhelmingly wanted a Common Sense Travel Ban but Obama and his fellow Totalitarian Demoncrats will do what they want to do – we have seen it over and over again. They will keep printing money, keep spending like raving Lunatics – they will stop only when they are forced to and that day will not be a good one. Even if we point to a some ” good” libertarian conservatives who might be able to turn it around – no way will they get elected by saying they are going slash the size of Federal Government, cut entiltlements, welfare etc.. Mabye 30 – 40 years ago we had a chance, but with illiterate 3rd world people pouring into our country – Democrats may lose here and there but long term, the part of more stuff has the odds – until we are all left in ruins.

      • Lt

You could not be more mislead by thinking there is any solution to our national dilemma through or by Washington politics. They are the problem, period. Republican, Democrat and Libertarian are all a waste of time or thought. The Republic is DEAD. This nation is and has been under the control of evil and wicked men for many years. What we are now seeing is “the End game”. It is now unfolding rapidly before our eyes – the utter destruction of the United States of America. They have robbed us of our wealth and used our military to overthrow governments of other nations in order to control and dominate and rob them of their wealth also. Now, They are through with us and we are also about to be discarded. Why do you think DHS has purchased over 2 billion rounds of hollow point ammunition? That is only for starters as to how this wicked Government intends to bring this nation down. You really do need to “Wake Up”. Yes. Prepare spiritually first by trusting in Jesus Christ for your only salvation for your soul – Then prepare financially and physically as best you can to help others around you – Most of whom will make no preparations. God bless.

        • Scottsman

You obviously didn’t get my message – I didn’t say there was a solution. Even though I am a Christian, I prefer to keep it mostly in the secular realm and lay out facts. Maybe it is the “End Game” but when people start telling me it is for sure, they lose me and millions of others as this prediction has been made time and time again through the centuries. And besides, somewhere scripture says no one will know the hour or day, and it will come like a thief in the night.

          • Lt

You are a Christian and that is most important of all. Whether or not you awaken before this nation is totally unrecognizable as to the America we know even today – That is another matter. I am 65 and have been unable to awaken the Christians in my influence to any degree, because they are “asleep”; They have been bewitched, see Galatians 3:1 and other scripture where Paul tries to awaken Christians in the N.T. I will not write a long scriptural dissertation here to support all I am saying – it would be to long and time consuming. But here is my point. In Mathew 16:2-3, Jesus said, “When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3.) And in the morning, it will be foul weather to day; for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times”? Discernment is what is lacking today as much as when my Lord walked this earth. He expects His people to “think” and if they will not, then they will suffer accordingly. God sends messengers to warn His people, but if they will not hear as in the day of Jeremiah and the day my Lord walked this earth – Then people, even God’s people will suffer the consequences of their own failure to hear God’s message and discern and act. Galations 6:7, says “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. That is given also to Christians. So, unbelief on your part as to where we are as a nation or denial about the soon demise of our nation is a decision on your part and you will have to live with its consequences. God bless

Excellent article Michael! I like the succinct but clear use of graphics and your interpretation.

  • Bill

Michael, it is not the fault of most Americans, sorry but that is the wrong conclusion. The dumbed down sheeple have been brain washed for this very purpose, to not recognize the truth.

The leadership of this country lives in an entirely different reality than the rest of us. They are intoxicated with greed. Their only interest in others is to “use” us to perpetuate “their” agenda. They do not value human life, the truth, nor right from wrong.

My fellow Americans: “We are ok but our leadership is not”. Stop trusting the leadership lies of the mainstream media. Understand Michael’s charts and draw the correct conclusion. “WE WILL SURVIVE”, but we must have
    “COMPLETELY NEW LEADERSHIP”.

    • Tom_F

      • Bill

If the fox tells the chickens the hen house is safe, can you blame the “trained” chickens for going back in?

True leadership would not sell a false sense of security and a path of destruction.

        • Firstgarden

The day of free-range chickens is over, except out on Auntie Em’s farm. Today’s chickens are under martial law, locked down in their little wire coops.

          • El Pollo de Oro

And the chickens are subject to asset forfeiture laws. If a hen lays an egg, the poliziotti fascisti can say, “I’m confiscating your eggs, Henny Penny, because I have reason to suspect you were using them to purchase narcotics. I don’t have any proof, but I’m taking the eggs anyway.”

          • Firstgarden

And we’ll kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

    • Daddyotis

Sorry Bill. I don’t buy it. While there is certainly much blame to go around in the political realm, I squarely fault the sheeple who elected them…I do not pity them. “They know not what they do” is not a plausible argument for me when describing their affect. EVERYONE has the opportunity to prepare now while times are good. This includes voting for more sensible politicians (an oxymoron, I know). At the end of the day, voting the “feels good” or “gimmedat” ballot will have real consequences, and when TSHTF, these sheeple will have no one to blame but themselves. I will be busy taking care of my own family while the Great Culling is occurring, and I hope to emerge relatively unscathed on the other side in order to help pick up the pieces.

Was the goal of your parents for you to survive? Is the goal for my children and grand children to merely survive in the new whatever comes – America? I think no for your parents and I know it is no for mine. I do not know exactly what America will look like after the next financial collapse, but if the history of prior world empires is any guide – it is going to be ugly. Even survival may not be an option on the other side. You do not know and I do not know – if any of us will survive.

Arrogant psychopaths, just seem to be everywhere these days.

      • Tim

I don’t understand your comment, Steve. As of 9/30/14 there was about $2.7 trillion in intragovernmental debt holdings in the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund. The Federal DisabilityTrust Fund held about $70 billion in intragovernmental debt as of that date. However, the future liabilities for these and other social insurance programs over the next several decades are in the tens of trillions. And that’s money that the federal government does not currently have.

    • simplesue

No our so called leaders won’t find a way. We our too far along in the birth pangs (Matthew 24:8) and once the prophetic clock starts ticking there’s no turning back. We our a nation surely coming under the judgment of God. We thumb our collective nose at him and promote lifestyles that the Holy God of the Bible calls an abomination (Lev 18:22) and slaughter children in the womb and we think that God will help us have a blessed day, and where is the church and those who sit in the pews? They are more concerned with living their best life now or sitting in recliners and sipping latte’s and teaching Chrislam than they are with the hard truths of God’s word.

The signs are everywhere, will it happen today or tomorrow? I don’t know, but it sure looks like it is very, very near. The economic collapse described in Revelation chapter 6 is set up. The pestilences(ebola and others) described in Matthew 24:7 along with earthquakes(7.4 El Salvador this morning) are shouting out the nearness of theLord’s return. The absolute brutality and coldness of men’s hearts is constantly in the news and growing worse(2Tim 3:1-5). Are you ready.? Because if you aren’t 7 years of absolute hell are about to come upon this planet(Revelation 6-18).

Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

As hellish as the last five years have been in the Third World snakepit that is The Banana Republic of America, this is only the tip of the iceberg. The worst is yet to come. Here are some of the “fun” things we have to look forward to.

    1. Currency debasement and a formal devaluation of the BRA dollar, which will have about as much value as the Guatemalan quetzal or the Bolivian boliviano when all is said and done (maybe less).

    2. A bank holiday a la Argentina.

    3. Unemployment climbing to 50% or 60%, worse than the 1930s.

    4. Violent crime galore. Carjackings, home invasions, kidnappings like you find in many Third World hellholes.

    5. The police state clamping down even more. The militarized policías won’t be there to protect you from gangbangers or home invaders, but they’ll continue to toss stun grenades into babies’ cribs and murder 92-year-old women who are bedridden.

    6. Riots, civil unrest left and right.

    7. The infrastructure going from bad to much worse. Dirt roads, anyone?

    8. Government looting of bank accounts like you had in Cyprus.

    9. In a climate of unrest, the bankster junta will brand patriots, preppers, libertarians and constitutionalists as terrorists just as Alex Jones has been saying.

I love Gerald Celente’s three Gs: guns, gold, getaway plan. But if you have gold, beware. The militarized policías in this Third World junta will steal it in the name of civil asset forfeiture, especially when the BRA dollar is devalued and stealing cash becomes less profitable for them.

Hey, El Pollo de Oro…When the dollar is re-set…do you think we could rename it the quetzal ? I think it would be appropriate to help our latest central american “guests” become more comfortable here.

Arno: Maybe they could rename it “el quetzal del norte.” That way, our “guests” from Central America will feel right at home in the BRA. Or they could rename the dollar “la bananeira,” which means “the banana tree.” And instead of pictures of Lincoln, Washington, Grant, etc. on our bills, have pictures of Franco, Mussolini, Somoza, Borderberry, Trujillo and others we’ve chosen to emulate.

        • Ha yo entiendo! I read your comment too fast early in the morning!

But do take a grain of salt on what you hear in the “alternative media”. People like Alex Jones are gatekeepers on the right, especially when it comes to things Israel. Celente has been talking his book for some time now about the crash that a lot of us non-celebrities have known since 2003 and much earlier. Zerohedge is aligned with Paul “I am a financial terrorist!” Singer who is trying to rape Argentina to obtain a 1,608% ROR on his “investment” that he purchasedin 2008. Even Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, whom I admire for his courrage to speak the truth, is limited to all things after the Great Ronald Reagan. A lot of the problems today (MIC, GMO, destruction of the Yankee workers, ect.) go back to his Admin which Dr. Roberts refuses to acknowledge.

I tell my friends in other countries what’s going on here in the BRA, and they’re horrified to hear about all the innocent people being terrorized by SWAT raids on the wrong house, cash forfeitures, etc. I tell them, “Gerald Celente and Alex Jones are not exaggerating. Imagine having your cash stolen by thugs with automatic weapons when you’re doing nothing wrong. That’s what’s going on here.” Havings policías who are corrupt as hell and armed with military weapons is a deadly combination.

    What do you think???

    Jail the banksters
    Jail the crocked Politicians.
    Jail the criminal Elite.
Have a Zero Reset for everyone
NOT just the wealthy and start over from Zero
With a balanced budget at all cost, and if it goes over budget you don’t buy it.
Stop paying politicians they get enough from kick backs and bribes.

One way to fix this problem is to kill off about 1/2 the population. Ebola is the prefect way to reduce the debt by not having to pay Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. That is what the Federal government is actively doing.

“A departure from principle becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering… And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in ITS TRAIN, wretchedness and oppression.”

Don’t forget about #13 Moral and spiritual decline. People are still out fornicating like rats. Remember more souls go to hell for sins of the flesh than any other sin.

    • Rinne

I am sure you have never fornicated in your life Cappy. Seems like we are programmed to eat, sleep, breed, use the restroom and that’s about it. Really what else is our purpose here on this earth? What is the point? Maybe we were created by an alien species to be used as they see fit.

Sorry, Captain. There is no Biblical Hell just yet. To be sure, there will be; all in good time.

Also; the number one sin (with a bullet) is Idolatry.

Our founding fathers were brilliant men, in our constitution it says money shall be gold and silver. They knew all about the printing press and debt.

Pretty simple, no printing press, no debt.

But we have “grown” and “matured” and know so much more than the 1776 gang. Just look at the results.

No printing press means not getting into terrible wars.

No printing press means no social programs.

  • Drud

In his novel Jailbird, Kurt Vonnegut spouses that every government ever formed is at its heart a Ponzi scheme. He was absolute correct, and that book was published in 1979. Way ahead of his time.

    • Some governments are more Ponzi Scheme than Charles Ponzi himself! Some governments are more Genocidal then others.

The Greastest Ponzi Scheme government and the Greatest Genocidal government in history is the United States of Death, Disease and Destruction. Bar none. Hollywood version of “history” not withstanding.

Do some research online before rebutting that last statement.

  • AzDi

Very telling. Why can’t people figure this out? I can see why the politicians don’t want to bring it up cause they are probably doing all they can to get as rich as they can before the collapse. Only the concerned Americans are paying attention and most likely, prepared for this.

    • Hammerstrike

People refuses to figure it out, because if it is true that… would be bad!

Fortunately through the Great Recession, the U.S. dollar remained the world’s reserve currency. And as such, the U.S. is still the foremost financial power in the world. Today’s world affords people in the U.S. the best of technology, medicine and entertainment. It is a great time to be alive in America!

    • Gay Veteran

“…Today’s world affords people in the U.S. the best of technology, medicine and entertainment. It is a great time to be alive in America!”

LOL, that’s IF you can afford the best of technology, medicine and entertainment

  • CharlesH

These charts literally scare the hell out me and I mean literally. Now – here’s a totally stupid question. Numbers are infinite – so the Fed “prints” (actually punches in a series of numbers that equate to money – they just make it up) and off it goes. Since numbers are infinite – why can’t this Ponzi (which I believe it is) scheme just go on forever? I realize EVERY fact and figure is manipulated today – it’s horrific to say the least.

    • FortuneSeek3rz

It can go on as long as the U.S. dollar is the world’s reserve currency. That means people in other countries perceive the U.S. economy as being the BEST option. People sometimes forget to compare what’s going on in the States with other areas of the world. The tallest midget is still the tallest.

  • This article was as frightening as it was revealing.

  • JOHN

This is why the President of the Russian Federation, remarked in the public sit down talk that the USA, the United States of America had always had a genocidal tradition.
    This is in the future.

He can see as can much of the world that the USA, seems to be in self destruct mode. I really think that yes it is a matter of decline but that is always complex. The Romans had the similar economic conditions where they forfeited the agriculture self sufficient farmers and moved towards a fascist empire.Rather than create the fascism deems to abuse, subjugate and take. Which is what USA is now about thought the dufus citizens will proclaim how lucky they are and great the USA is.
Any student of history can see what we are. The USA was balanced by a traditionally Christian culture but that is mostly gone. It isn’t the fault per se of the churches but rather a combination of selfishness and the removal of churches as a moral counterwieght by the controlling oligarchical interests in order to eliminate “competition”. A lot of this has been by design but mostly they Americans rather than slaughter the War Hawks that enjoy killing millions in far off lands they seem to be “chicken” and pretty much let the so-called NWO/Bilderburg/Concil Types get away with murder. In fact Americans will stand around and watch a guy get beaten to death by police. So that tells one it is doomed and will require a truly back to wall apocalypse for reality to set in
. And no Jesus has nothing to do with it. If we truly loved and forgave, made amends for Vietnam, South America, Iraq ect.ect. this society would be healthy. It isn’t. Most people have tons of denial so it is instructive to see that in action in USA. People will gladly talk on the I phone or text than view or “be”with each other. Zombies, doomed.

That said there have been many times to turn back. But like the woman who stays with the wife beating SOB the Americans seem to enjoy the leaders they have. Other nations that have far more authoritarian types have riots, and protests all the time. In fact I feel we all need ot look in the mirror. Most foreigners that visit find the USA very dramatic, inspiring and interesting, that said they don’t want to live here. That says it all. Used to be a great place with wonderful people.
That said there are great, intellectually astute, truly brilliant things going on here. There are spiritual and gifted people that make a difference and are self less. The nurse who has Ebola is the best example. These days I feel for the young and think more of what i can do for them. Please pray for this woman. Cheers!

  • Nicely done. Will be going through this in deep detail.

  • dschlott

I believe it is our fiat currency, and that of other nations, that has and continues to lead us all down this path to chaos and collapse. When you and I have to work to earn a dollar to pay for our needs and taxes, while others connected to the banking system can borrow or print ad infinitum, the system is fundamentally unfair. When our national government is unconstrained in its spending, it grows to dominate the states and all commerce. Our nation is challenging other nations in a currency war to see which can screw their citizenry worse by devaluing the national currency. And this nation (USA) is screwing the whole world as we still hold the reserve currency status. This will end for us when the dollar is refuted by other nations, as we citizens of the USA cannot do anything to correct our captured government and finance system. Each of us needs to prepare to restart a local economy, perhaps with old silver coin, in each and every neighborhood – so that righteousness and hard working/intelligent people can work to be rewarded, rather than financial manipulation. I do not hold my sons or daughters obligated to pay debts falsely placed upon them. Anyone expecting anything out of the US federal government needs to realize that sooner or later all these obligations will be renigged upon.

  • Randy Townsend

Well written. It is delusional for anyone that can read for themselves to believe the lies put forth by the WH and the government. Our economy is on life support, funded by a stream of invented currency that can not continue indefinitely. The numbers speak for themselves. The pols simply want to maintain their position of authority and power – and they will do or say anything they think they need to so as to accomplish that goal. Voting is pointless, both parties are hopelessly corrupt and anyone that believes R’s are the savior of the nation will be disappointed. D’s are just too dirty to be trusted.

Legalize weed nationally and tax the shiz. New generation of farmers /manufacturers/ retail businesses just waiting for growth. I mean how much longer can we keep selling golf clubs and booze to baby boomers?

  • Glitchus

I’ve been saying the same thing for quite a while now. What’s even worse, if one looks past the “Climate Change” industry (it ceased being science when it became a political vehicle for graft), we’re actually on the cusp of another major period of glaciation, given the Vostok ice core record, which is really, really bad.
