As Predicted, Obamacare Is Absolutely Killing The Middle Class

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Obamacare Frustration - Public DomainThe critics of Obamacare have been proven right.  The Obama administration promised that health insurance premiums would go down.  Instead, they have absolutely skyrocketed.  The Obama administration promised that Obamacare would not kill jobs.  Instead, firms are hiring fewer workers because of suffocating health care costs.  As you will see below, even the Federal Reserve is admitting this.  The Obama administration also promised that the big health insurance companies would love the new Obamacare plans and would eagerly compete with one another to win customers in the new health insurance marketplaces.  Instead, many of the big health insurance companies are now dropping Obamacare plans altogether.

We witnessed the latest stunning example of this phenomenon just a few days ago.  It turns out that Aetna has been losing hundreds of millions of dollars on plans sold through the health exchanges, and now they plan to pull out of the program almost entirely

Earlier this week, Aetna, which covers about 900,000 people through the health exchanges created under Obamacare, announced that it would dramatically reduce its presence those exchanges. Instead of expanding into five new states this year, as the insurer had previously planned, the company said that it would drop out of 11 of the 15 states in which it currently sells under the law.

Aetna’s decision follows similar moves from other insurers: UnitedHealth announced in April that it would cease selling plans on most exchanges. Shortly after, Humana pulled out of two states, Virginia and Alabama. More than a dozen of the nonprofit health insurance cooperatives set up under the law—health insurance carriers created using government-back loans in order to spur competition—have failed entirely. While some insurers are entering the exchanges, even more are leaving.

Another one of “the big five”, UnitedHealth, is going to lose more than half a billion dollars on Obamacare plans.  So just a few months ago they also announced that they would be dramatically scaling back their participation in the program.

Because of the ridiculous costs, health insurance companies are either going to have to abandon the exchanges completely or they will have to raise rates substantially.

Needless to say, the people that are going to ultimately feel the pain from all of this are consumers

Customers who are now forced to obtain insurance or pay a hefty fine that grows more costly over time are being left in a difficult position. Americans are essentially stuck between a rock and hard place, either losing coverage entirely, or having to cough up money for a plan they can’t afford.

Something has to give,” said Larry Levitt, a healthcare law expert at the Kaiser Family Foundation. “Either insurers will drop out or insurers will raise premiums.

On the low end of the spectrum, tens of millions of poor Americans benefit from government programs that provide health care at little or no cost.

On the other end of the spectrum, the very wealthy can afford to pay the ridiculously high health insurance premiums that we are seeing under Obamacare.

So what this means is that the people that are being hurt the most by Obamacare are those that belong to the middle class.

As I mentioned above, employers are now hiring less workers because of Obamacare, and that is very bad news for the middle class.  One recent study conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York discovered that nearly one out of every five firms is “employing fewer workers” because of this insidious law

According to a new survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, 20.9% of manufacturing firms in the state said they were employing fewer workers because of the Affordable Care Act, the healthcare law known as Obamacare, while 16.8% of respondents in the service sector said the same.

And middle class Americans that have to pay for their own health insurance are being hit with much higher bills these days.  According to one recent study, it is being projected that the average Obamacare premium will go up 24 percent in 2016…

Now, courtesy of a new study by independent analyst Charles Gaba – who has crunched the numbers for insurers participating in the ACA exchanges in all 50 states – we can also calculate what the average Obamacare premium increase across the entire US will be: using proposed and approved rate increase requests, the average Obamacare premium is expected to surge by a whopping 24% this year.

Even NBC News, which is about as pro-Obama as you can get, is reporting on the crippling premium increases that are devastating the middle class…

Millions of people who pay the full cost of their health insurance will face the sting of rising premiums next year, with no financial help from government subsidies.

Renewal notices bearing the bad news will go out this fall, just as the presidential election is in the home stretch.

“I don’t know if I could swallow another 30 or 40 percent without severely cutting into other things I’m trying to do, like retirement savings or reducing debt,” said Bob Byrnes, of Blaine, Minnesota, a Twin Cities suburb. His monthly premium of $524 is already about 50 percent more than he was paying in 2015, and he has a higher deductible.

All over the nation people are getting hit like this.

Personally, my health insurance company wanted to nearly double the rate I was paying when Obamacare fully kicked in.  So I searched around and found another plan that was only about a 30 percent increase, but at least it wasn’t nearly double what I had been paying before.

But when the time came to renew that plan, they wanted to jump my premium up another 50 percent per month.

Those of us that are in the middle are being crushed by Obamacare.  We aren’t poor enough to qualify for government assistance, and we aren’t wealthy enough for these ridiculous health insurance premiums not to matter.

Just about everything that Barack Obama promised us about Obamacare has turned out to be a lie.

So where in the accountability?

This is one of the big reasons why nearly one out of every five U.S. adults lives with their parents or their grandparents these days.  Many young adults cannot afford the basics of life such as health insurance, and so they have got to find a way to cut back expenses somewhere.  If that means moving back in with Mom and Dad, that is what some of them are going to do.

I am astounded that our system of health care has become so messed up.  But this is just more evidence of how our society is falling apart in thousands of different ways, and I am not optimistic that things will be turned around any time soon.

Obamacare is a huge redistribution scheme (theft), at the expense of the middle class. Socialism ultimately kills everyone, everywhere.

    • MIchael in Chicago

Socialism kills those at the bottom first. The 1% often leave the country.

      • kfilly

Socialism kills the middle class first. A strong middle class cannot exist in a socialist utopia. They need everyone impoverished and dependent upon the government. Modern socialism is ECONOMIC SLAVERY.

        • SnodtBlossom

The answer is obvious. Quit your job.

Obamacare is only socialism for the rich. If the corporations and super wealthy would pay their fair share so that the working people would have decent healthcare, I’d be more than okay with it. ACA is just a corporate welfare scam.

      • GSOB

        ??

        • William Lutz

Dude don’t pretend that you don’t know what I’m talking about or imply that my comment has no basis. You are aware that Obamacare is a program that was invented by the Obama administration along with the elite corporate crooks that dictate our government. This health plan was not intended for the people, it was for the purpose of serving the rich fat cats at our expense. We are essentially their slaves.

          • WalterWinchell

GSLOB is a troll and should be dismissed accordingly

      • LIZ THE SHIZ

no the ACA is just a ruse doomed to failure which will eventually be morphed in to single payer system the way Hillary wanted it 25 years ago , don’t ever underestimate the long CON that the Clintons have played for the last 30 years.

        • William Lutz

I don’t mind having a single payer system. What I don’t like is all these huge medical insurance companies and big pharma getting their filthy hands on my healthcare.

          • kfilly

Your Founding Fathers warned you about government dependence. They essentially said something to the effect that those who need the government to feed them and give them health care will be as sick as those who are living under tyranny. I have met the enemy and it is us. PS-it is your criminal government that causes health care costs to explode exponentially. Your government is owned by the corporations you so despise in your next post. It is called fascism.

      • WalterWinchell

yeah, i guess to those that are limited or lazy would be happier in a system where everyone suffers equally, but the problem with socialism is that it mirrors capitalism, the elite at the top (not sharing equally with the misery) and everyone else, and this is where MY country will be in 8 short yrs. if the polls are correct

It is what they have hidden in the healthcare act that is more disheartening. Also, Nancy Pelosi’s statement that congress had to pass it to see what was in it should give everyone pause. Citizens should be more concerned about some of the language embedded in the healthcare bill such as “implantable devices” which they deny as being directly related to RFID chip implants for human tracking even though the technology is currently being used today. Also, the controversial “end of life” death panels.

Note that we must discern all things through the lens of faith: NBC news once did a report that predicted in the year 2017 all who reside on American soil will be tagged with microchips. They stated RFID’s will be implanted to help identify individuals immediately. According to the report, the technology is used to answer one question, I am I who I say I am? I wonder how they came up with that specific answer?

Could it be man is increasingly busy with trying to be like God? As He is the only Great I AM and He is also the first one to make the statement I AM that I AM. The devil is always in the details.

        • LIZ THE SHIZ

wonder if those RFID chip have a kill trigger if you are deemed a useless eater?

          • sistersoldier

            A valid question.

You can expect that whatever the cronies do in Washington D.C. is never going to be for the benefit of the middle class.

    • RealityCheckk

Obamacare was conceived in fraud and born in malfeasance by a Congress so lacking in their fundamental duty to read and understand the bill they were voting on that it is null and void as law. When I questioned a Congressman about the fraudulent nature of the vote, I received no response.

Would any prudent person sign a blank check?

Would any prudent person sign a life changing contract, or any contract for that matter, without knowing what they were committing to?

This act was negligence to the highest degree.
To vote for something you never read is illegitimate.
To vote for something you don’t understand is illegitimate.

To call this a representative government is a fallacy beyond measure.

The end result is higher insurance premiums, much higher deductibles and less adequate coverage which is evident from personal experience and for others I know. This “law” was designed to do several other things: redistribution of wealth (to the insurance companies and investors), more control over the populace, more manipulation of the populace, a vehicle to eliminate the populace…etc.

The entire Obamacare law is a FRAUD.

$6,250 was my out-of-pocket expense for this year.
Last year it maxed at $4,000, the year before was $3,000.
This coming year I expect it will $8,000.
But just remember, “If you like your dicktator, you can keep your dicktator.” I’m still looking for my $2,500 cost savings.

Oops, I guess I failed to read the fine print…I did save $2,500,,,instead of my deductible being $4,500 it’s only $2,000…of course, before Obamacare it was $1,200.

On a positive note should Trump win he will not have to worry about how to go about repealing ObamaCare is it seems likely to be on path worthy of collapsing. Perhaps changes can be made to make it affordable for everyone. For it to actually provide affordable health care but I rather doubt it.

I moved to the Philippines when Obama was elected. Here’s the difference in healthcare between the US and here in the Philippines: When I slipped on a street and broke my rib, I went to the hospital. X-rays, doctor fee and pain meds came to a whopping…wait for it…$23.97.

    • John in Philippines

Me too! A Brit in the Philippines. I had blood and urine tests plus a scan for prostate problem. Later 10 minute consultation. $30 total!!

      • tom

Wow. Just wondering if there is something similar to a menu at doctors offices/clinics/hospitals that posts the costs associated with various medical treatments/procedures? Is insurance accepted or is it cash/credit payments or does the Philippines have national healthcare? Thanks

        • alan

Pay before you leave. If you can’t pay, hum… you might need to stick around for a longer recovery.

          • LIZ THE SHIZ

my son went to the emergency room and the hospital gave us a 50% discount if we paid cash, makes you think this is the biggest scam going in US history

      • john

same in Thailand (in bkk) , blood test and another few test. 60$

    • tom

Wow. Just wondering if there is something similar to a menu at doctors offices/clinics/hospitals that posts the costs associated with various medical treatments/procedures? Is insurance accepted or is it cash/credit payments or does the Philippines have national healthcare? Thank you

      • Uzal Roberts

Tom, at those rates I pay cash. Credit cards are also accepted. Better yet, you can ask what the fee is in advance and they will gladly inform you.

      • Ricardo

The Philippines has Philhealth Insurance. I think the yearly rate is still 2,400 peso which would be about US$56 per year. It covers certain hospital costs and depending on what you are in hospital for can either partially offset the total bill and in other cases make your bill a complete zero. Recently my wife ended up in hospital there with an 18,000 peso bill but when our daughter was admitted for 3 days her bill was zero.
You would need to do a google search on Philhealth if you want to discover more information.

        • tom

Thank you. Is that national health insurance through the government or is it a private plan?

          • Ricardo

Philhealth is run by the government. Or to put it another way its a government department.

          • tom

            Thank you

    • SnodtBlossom

I wish all american guys over 60 would move to the Phillipines

Snottly, No need to buy a house there. You can rent one for $10-$20.00 a month, and probably eat GMO free food also!!!!

        • SnodtBlossom

Oh they all say that til you get there

          • James Staten

OK, It’s true, but you go ahead and believe Hillary

        • Uzal Roberts

James, I live 25 meters from the beach. My rent, utilities (electric and water) and cable amount to 7000 pesos a month for a brand new house I’m the first to live in it). In US bucks that’s $152. Our food bill runs another $200 a month.

          • James Staten

I hope Snottly reads this. I have a friend that came to America in the last two years, and he told me a little house can be rented for 10-$20, and you have everything included for that price….Uzal…it sounds like a good life!!!!

          • LIZ THE SHIZ

how much extra for a wife and does she come with her whole family ?

          • Uzal Roberts

James, I am sure you can get a place for that price in the provinces. However, the place would not be that great and you would be shut off from grocery stores and modern conveniences. I tried provincial living and it’s not great. It may be exciting initially, but it grows old very fast.

          • James Staten

Uzal, I am aware of a young lady that is a Missionary that got a little house in a village. So I see your point

          • victor

How long have you lived there?
My ex wife was from Pampanga, in between Subic Bay and Manila.
            I haven’t been there since 1985.
So I’m sure it has totally changed.
I still am welcomed to go there, with my ex in laws. After reading your posts, just might like to go visit once again. The first two times, I was in the military.
They were are very warm and friendly people.
            What’s your experience?

          • Uzal Roberts

I’ve been living here since December of 2009. I know Pampanga very well. I lived in Angeles City for 14 months. I moved to Bonfacio Global City and lived there for 3 years (nice but expensive). Yeah, I’m only aware of the changes since the first time I came here in 2005.

          • Uzal Roberts

Almost 7 years. Yeah, come on over. Things are getting better with the new president. Crime is dropping BIG time as the criminals are running scared.

Angeles City in Pampanga, I don’t know. Bonifacio Global City and/or Makati are ony 15 minutes from NAIA (the airport) or about 250 pesos taxi ride. Contact me if you want and I will give your info to a gal I know who rents out condos in the best part of BGC or Makati. Cheers.

          • victor

Thanks for getting back to me. So are you retired, or do you work there?
I will be retiring in two years, so I will put a visit back to P.I. on my bucket list.
Would like to be able to chat and get some info from you.
Actually my ex was born in Manila, and later moved to Lubao Pampanga in the province, when her parents moved to be closer to her grand parents.
Was very interesting at the time.
Do many still live in the neepa huts?
            and the good old jeepney!!!

Rule #1 in creating a social state: Control the healthcare and you control the people. Obama is working furiously to fulfill his part in bringing socialism to America. We can stop it but it’s going to take all of us speaking up and voting out the traitors. And lots and lots of prayers.

Going to be a big increase, in tax revenue. When what is left of the middle class, can only afford to pay the fine. I still call it Roberts care. He could have stopped it. Instead he broke his oath, to uphold the Constitution.

    • kfilly

I refer to it as Obamadon’tcare, Unconstitutional Care (tax that did not originate in the House of Representatives, Supreme Court Injustice re-writing the law to make it Constitutional in violation of separation of powers), or Amerikans are too Dumb to Care. This system was designed to collapse so that we can get a single payer system. Yay, enslavement!

      • K

Single payer is the long term target. Mid-term target is raising the rates, out of sight. And forcing more people to pay the fine. When things get bad enough. People will not only accept single payer. They will demand it.

        • kfilly

Yep, people here are stupid. They do not even realize who the really enemy is.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

This is what people wanted. They voted for a weak congress and a narcissistic Marxist dictator. Supreme Court already was corrupted since the early 1840’s.

Obama owns this ruin and will stand before God, Angels and those he screwed over and face his judgement.

Folks will compensate eventually and work it out so long as the usurpers, radicals, revolutionaries, insurrectionists, feminists, rabid populists, statist’s, deviants, gaystopo, etc. etc. etc. etc. on all sides get out of the way.

In the meantime: I’m prepared and have faith in Christ. Can do any paramedic procedure, minor surgery, mix medications both herbal and chemical, and do some lab tests. Will do what I can for my family, the Saints, and those the spirit directs me to help out.

And thanks be to the Lord my Savior that the mind that is in Him (Christ Jesus) is also in me. Having His words in my heart and mind allows me to speak life over and into myself. Whereas you do not possess a conversation which should be in heaven and are of a reprobate mind (against holiness) continue to speak death into all of your fruitless and futile endeavors. Your conscience will survive after your body has given up the ghost. My conscience will confirm for me that there is life after death and I will enter into the Lord’s rest. You on the other hand without repentance will enter the worst baptism of suffering you have ever known or could dare to imagine. I’ll be a parrot for the Lord any day, any time, any place and any where.

You still don’t get it. I’ve already died (in Christ) so I do not fear physical death only spiritual death (the second death). But I know that I will be raised up again to live forever in His abiding presence. Eating from the tree of life bearing 12 different fruits for each month and its leaves will be for the healing of the nations. You on the other hand should fear death and try to prolong it as long as possible. I hear that they cannot even communicate with one another in hell because the individual torment is so great and the even the darkness has pain… My, my, my……. where the worms never die.

After sending my first reply it dawned on me, without a doubt the status of women in this world has been elevated in a Christian Society because of Jesus. I would think if you wanted to do the research you could find the truth.

          • Gay Veteran

women’s status wasn’t “elevated” the first 1800 years after Jesus

          • Gay Veteran

when were women allowed to own and control property?

          • James Staten

Your bilger is broke. I said that the status of women has been elevated since Christ, throughout the world where it has flourished. I didn’t say that it was a perfect system. We live in a fallen world. If it were a perfect world then the Lord would not have had the Apostle Paul write Romans 1:26-28. God hates any sin, and if I honestly thought it would help you, I would take the time to explain, but since God’s Ways are higher than our ways. He demands Perfection and the remedy, the provision for fallen man is in Christ’s Finished Work of the Cross. Even the slaughter of men, women and children, which you mention often, in times past comes under that directive. Sin is a corrupting agent. It spreads like a wild fire. America is a prime example of this corruption spreading by the day in every area of society. 1st Corinthians 15:1-4

I drive a garbage truck. Im single. I make a good wage. I dont suffer want. If I need something I get it. I tithe 10 percent off the top to my church. Each paycheque I get, bi-weekly, I pay about $400 in tax, From that I receive FULL MEDICAL COVERAGE. Full and complete. My job covers 80 percent of my dental and all prescription drugs. Two years ago I had severe abdominal pain. I went to a walk in clinic. Later that night I called 911 and an ambulance took me to a hospital. It was a friday night. I waited 15 minutes before I was given a private room. I spent three days in the hospital. I had X-Rays, a MRI, an endoscoptic scope, a morphine drip for pain, a continuous IV for hydration and sleeping pills each night to sleep. A month later I got a bill in the mail. $45 for the ambulance. Thats it. I gladly paid it. I had the beginning of an ulcer which has now healed. Thanks be to God. I thank God for the coverage I receive. I thank God for the country I live in. I am Canadian

Overkill! If it took that many diagnostic tests to determine you had a pre-ulcerative condition your healthcare will not last long and you should fire your physician. Maybe we need competition in our healthcare system? What about having a “menu” posted in doctors offices/clinics/hospitals that patients could see and compare costs of medical treatments and procedures? This may cut the costs as providers compete for patients. This may also improve the services as well.

To start America began the road to perdition five decades ago. I know I lived it. I was old enough to see the changes occurring on a daily basis right before my eyes. You would not believe the changes that occurred in one particular time frame….January 1965- December 1968. All the ills of society manifested itself to the point where there would be no turning back. The misfits of the counter culture became the culture. The fabric of the military was destroyed in the jungles of Vietnam. Drugs, crime, broken families, abortion. The greatest nation ever turned to rubble quickly. At the gates of hell there is only one way out. The escape has been there for 2,000 years. His name…Jesus Christ. Call on the name of the Lord and you shalt be saved, then repent. It is just a matter of days that He who hinders will be removed so get saved and join Him on that pathway upward to eternal glory.

    • Sumatra

That may have been a large jump in the timeline of America’s downfall, but isn’t the beginning. About 5 years before that would be more accurate.

      • kfilly

You guessed wrong. Abraham Lincoln destroyed our nation. The Civil War’s main issue was states’s rights verses an all powerful federal government. I am not an advocate for slavery, but the wrong side won as far as freedom goes. Centralized government is tyrannical. As the government moves further away from the people, tyranny increases. We went from a small number of slaves to an entirely enslaved population under his rule. Lincoln also usurped the Constitution by having 15,000 northern citizens who protested the Civil War die in incarceration. That was the entire descent is treason thing. It began the systematic destruction and enslavement of the Amerikan sheeple. The privately owned Federal Reserve Bank (Federal Reserve Act of 1913) is stealing our wealth via a debt based currency and is a key driver to our enslavement—modern Socialism. Woodrow Wilson also got us involved in international affairs. We were supposed to be a nation of peace not an interventionalist nation meddling in other countries’ affairs. Our country became socialist under FDR. Once people accepted gifts from the treasury (Social Security), our republic ended. Many Founding Fathers warned us about that. LBJ further socialized Amerika. Every other president has just been a puppet to support our enslavement. Is it any different if W. Bush signed the Patriot Act or Obama signed Patriot Act 2? We have been played, and most people think this happened recently. No one alive today has lived in the land of the free.

That falsehood does not stand up against the scrutiny of God’s Word. It is a provable lie. When critically examined the various elements of pre-trib theory fall apart as they are not founded upon Bible truth, but upon supposition and wishful thinking. There is one factor of why healthcare costs are rising that I seldom see mentioned on the Internet: the decision by our corporate masters three decades ago to inundate our food-system with high fructose corn syrup. The number of diabetics has been skyrocketing ever since then, with teenagers for the first time in history being diagnosed with what used to be called “adult-onset diabetes”.

    • Jerry C

high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, the list goes on

      • GSOB

‘Check ingredients lists on product packages for added sugars, including sucrose, dextrose, maltose, xylose, invert sugar, honey, molasses, fruit juice concentrate, maltodextrin, turbinado sugar, malt syrup, brown rice syrup, agave nectar and, of course, high-fructose corn syrup.

If the product contains more than two or three types of sugar, it likely contains a lot of added sugar and you may want to consider putting it back on the shelf.’

  • Truegrit

Huge distributing companies which used to rely on manufacturing companies have gotten used to shame full profits. like Home depot selling a tape measure for $14.99 which costs them $2.00 from China. That same product used to cost $7.00 from Stanley.
Companies would have to surrender some of that additional profit to help finance Obama care.
weren’t things nicer without China and Obama care?

    • goldminer

A basic 25 foot tape measure with lever lock is still $7.99 – 9.99 at Home depot. I don’t think China has much to do with it. It is the ACA, Government regulations, And the highest corporate taxes in the world. That are driving companies out of the country in droves. They simply cant compete in a global economy. With our overbearing government regulations/taxes. Our own government is the cause of the loss of manufacturing in America not China. China simply stepped in to fill the giant void we stupidly left open.

as a physician, The best government option for health care is to get out of the business. IF you look at what the government has done with Medicare, they created a coding system and the DRG, and APCs in an effort to make billing so difficult that they would not have to pay or get delayed payment. If there were no government health care, if the patients had to pay the doctor directly, the cost of health care would be cut to 15 cents on the dollar. It is the government intervention that has increased the cost.

BOscare is a total fail. It was designed that way. It attracts the unhealthy. Who take out way more than they pay in. The young and healthy avoid it entirely and choose to pay the fine.

The ACA is causing insurance companies to loose billions of dollars. They are dropping out of ACA like leaves in the fall. This cant go long much longer. Soon there will be no private insurers participating in the ACA.

The only real solution is Trump’s.” Repeal the ACA.”

The old hag has promised to keep the ACA so here are her choices to keep it alive.

    1. Force insurance companies to loose money for the good of the country. I am sure that will go over well.

2 Raise the fines/penalties for not having insurance. But it is unconstitutional to raise taxes so high on something to compel behavior. So raising penalties will end up in the supreme court.
But BO and Killary are very adept at shredding the constitution.

3 Have the federal government absorb the losses incurred by the insurance companies. Federal Government means The US taxpayer. That will turn the ACA into what exactly it was designed. A monstrous new unfunded and open-ended government entitlement.
If Hillary is elected. Bend over America. She will not use any lube either.

  • Lorungee

Here is a suggestion, even though it’s unpalatable……..drop the insurance, and refuse to pay the so called penalty.

    • JC Teecher

Or… although I am not advising lying, but if you claim to be a muslim (for the day), then you don’t have to pay the fine, because they are exempt.

That is absolutely 100% correct, they are 100% exempt from Obolacare penalties. They are exempt because, according to the Koran, insurance is a form of wagering.
Or, at least that is how they “interpret” it.

    • Mark

and refuse to pay the so called penalty……. Then the IRS confiscates your bank account, and if that is not enough your house, and if that is not enough they will eventually put you in jail.

      • Lorungee

It will come to the point that people will have to commit such acts of civil disobiedience to fight tyranny.

  • A.S.

    To Quote Michael:

Personally, my health insurance company wanted to nearly double the rate I was paying when Obamacare fully kicked in. So I searched around and found another plan that was only about a 30 percent increase, but at least it wasn’t nearly double what I had been paying before.

But when the time came to renew that plan, they wanted to jump my premium up another 50 percent per month.

So in the end, it ended up almost the same 100% increase. Say for ease of math, a premium was 100 per month:
    100+100 (double rate)==200 or…
    100+30 (30% increase)==130…
    130+65 (50% increase)==195

So all you saved was just $5, but at least you got the fist year with a $70 savings.

I can’t understand how anyone can afford to pay $500 per month. Say the average middle class salary is 36k per year, each month is about 3k, so you are looking at 1/6 of your monthly salary just for health care. What about the mortgage, gas and car repair, food, clothes, utilities, etc?

This was done all on purpose. When Killary get elected (um, selected), even with her being sick, she will destroy America 10-fold what Obama did. Goodbye to happy days, Hello living to in the ghettos for everyone.

Obama care is doing exactly what it was designed to do. What they are shooting for is fully funded medical care by the government, just as they have in England and other countries. Socialized medicine I think they call it. Everyone gets health care, but it may not be what you need, when you need it. And to pay for it, all taxes will have to be paid at the 80 percent or higher level.

It is not capitalism. Fascism leads to socialism. Globalism is the true reason we are heading into bad times. Globalists are not capitalists and want a one world order destroying sovereignty of nations while creating poverty and controlling this through a corrupt banking system. Globalism is not capitalism but total control through the financial system. Many socialists make this argument that it is capitalism to blame and we need to reform to Marxist system which would be a traumatic failure and lead to total collapse.

Medical costs are absurd in the first place. I was visiting family in the Ukraine. It cost me $22 to get a MRI. Place was clean and the machine was modern. For that price, I was able to see if any medical problems on a whim and.a simple walk in. All my insides are good. I realize there is a currency value difference, but the technology costs the same and they were still making a profit at $21 per person. Now how much does a MRI cost in the USA? The system is absolutely corrupt.

    Two words: Cloward-Piven.

I’ll get insurance over my dead body. Literally. Nothing, and I mean nothing will stand in the way of providing for my other monthly expenses. The Fed’s can take that to the bank. Steal from me more than they already do, and it means my own personal war. I don’t believe in backing down for anything. If I could get away from paying anything in terms of taxes of any kind, I would in a hot minute. Doesn’t mean I’m not thinking how to get away with that. Now, when the hell will everyone else do the same. It’s your money if you earn it. Now take it back or quit bitching. It’s that simple.

Has anyone noticed the optical industry from glasses to contacts to laser surgery has become more competitive with better pricing?
If this area of health care is so affordable – plus the dental industry seems to be following suit – what’s up with physicians & drugs?

Simple solution: institute national health care as they have in Canada where they spend half as much as a percent of GDP, yet have universal health care.

still a better ways to spend money than in an army!

  • Lazarovic

Michael, why are you such a liar? You’re not being crushed by Obamacare, you’re being crushed by greedy insurance companies, just like you were before Obamacare. It’s the GREEDY INSURANCE COMPANIES, not the President, you fool. The President was trying to make sure ALL OF US could go to the doctor, not just the rich. Now, the treasonous insurance companies are trying to make the ACA fail by refusing to participate. That’s the truth of the matter, and well you know it.

    • theicecube

You cant handle the truth. You must still be wet behind the ears. The insurance companys are losing money. Either they need to raise premiums 100% or get out, but state Govt. insurance oversight officials hold them back from raising rates too much each year or let the rates go up and are blamed for the increase. Only idiots thought Ocare would work, you were and are wrong.

  • jonodough

That’s what happens when the govt gets involved.

  • Pier-olivier Chabot

So proud to be a socialized canadian with no healtcare problem, no gang problem and a job at every corner!

  • Pat Enery

It’s going along as planned. If anyone cares to remember, in the beginning, the whore politicians clearly stated that the insurance industry would be included & that there would be no discussion of single payer. Move along now, sheeple.

  • fidel

As always, one lie leads to another, Obama has to lie now because all the lies told previously, another cover up from OBAMA’S corrupt administration. .. disgraceful and cowardly….

  • Tonya Marandola

Call or text me; I have access to a private option outside of the exchange and would be happy to help if I can with reasonably priced premiums.*

Obozo care is a failure and needs to be trashed completely. Americans are tired of supporting illegals, refugees and the lazy. We spend hundreds of billions each year on just illegals. It is really time for government to get out of this business as everything they touch becomes a disaster. Health care should be completely in private hands, with the exception of Medicare( working people paid for) and Medicaid or welfare. Under Medicaid, illegals, refugees and foreigners should not be able to get. It’s time to stop the stupidity. Health savings accounts should be allowed and would be a good start.
