Egypt Is Descending Into Civil War, But Don’t Expect Obama To Cancel His Golf Vacation

Cairo Violence - Posted by Mosaaberizing on TwitterThe largest Islamic nation in the Middle East is on the verge of descending into civil war, the Syrian civil war is starting to spill over into Lebanon, and the worst violence in five years has just hit Iraq, but Barack Obama is way too busy to be bothered with any of that.  Right now, Obama is enjoying one of the true loves of his life – golf.  According to the Washington Post, Obama has “played 18 holes of golf every day but one this week”, and without a doubt he appears to really be enjoying his time up in Martha’s Vineyard.  I hear that it is absolutely beautiful up there this time of the year.  And apparently he needs the rest.  After all, prior to this vacation he has only had time to play 133 rounds of golf since becoming president.  Between snubbing world leaders and getting the U.S. economy going again, it must be really tough for Obama to find enough time to sharpen his game.

Of course I am being facetious.  It is absolutely ridiculous how much time Obama takes off, and Congress is even worse.  Congress is taking a five week vacation right now.  Most Americans don’t get that much vacation in an entire year.

Meanwhile, as our leaders enjoy their rest, the Middle East is coming apart at the seams.

In Egypt, authorities say that 638 people are now confirmed dead and another 3,994 people were wounded in the nightmarish violence that erupted in Cairo this week.  Hundreds of bodies remain uncounted by the authorities, and it appears very likely that Egypt is rapidly heading down the path to full-blown civil war

Angry supporters of ousted president Mohammed Morsi staged protests and burned buildings Thursday as President Obama condemned the violence on both sides and canceled next month’s joint military operations.

The unrest came a day after at least 638 people were killed in violence nationwide, including 43 police officers, the Health Ministry said. Most of the deaths occurred when security forces smashed two pro-Morsi sit-in camps in the capital. In the Nasr City district, 288 people were killed.

The Health Ministry said 3,994 people were injured.

After the police moved on the camps, street battles broke out across Egypt. Government buildings and police stations were attacked, roads were blocked, and Christian churches were torched, Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim said.

Sadly, some of the supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood have chosen to express their fury with the government by setting Christian homes, businesses and churches on fire.  According to one report, 18 churches have been torched so far…

Now, with the crackdown on Muslim Brotherhood members by the Egyptian army, Islamist fanatics are taking out their frustrations on Coptic Christians. In the past few days, there has been a spate of attacks on Christian businesses, homes, and churches. As of Wednesday morning, according to local witnesses, at least 18 churches had been destroyed, and fires and riots were continuing to spread in Christian areas, the witnesses said.

This is absolutely despicable, and it is turning out to be one of the worst disasters for Coptic Christians ever recorded.  Over the past few days, Twitter has been absolutely flooded with reports about what has been happening to Christians in Egypt…

Using the hashtag #EgyChurch, Egyptian users of Twitter and other social networks broadcast messages like “Can’t keep up with the number of churches, Christian businesses, and affiliates being attacked by ‘peaceful’ Muslim Brotherhood,” “It’s clear the Copts are having their churches burnt,” and “This is quickly becoming the worst sectarian catastrophe we’ve seen in our lifetimes.”

Meanwhile, the violence in Iraq continues to escalate.  The following is how Reuters described what happened in Baghdad on Thursday…

Car bomb attacks killed at least 34 people in Baghdad on Thursday but the Interior Ministry said it would not allow al Qaeda, which it blames for a surge in sectarian violence, to turn Iraq into another Syria.

More than 100 people were wounded in at least eight blasts, one of which was near the “Green Zone” diplomatic complex, part of a wave of bloodshed that has taken the monthly death toll in Iraq to the highest levels in five years.

“Iraq’s streets have become a battleground for sectarian people who are motivated by hatred and religious edicts and daring to kill innocent people,” the Interior Ministry said in an unusually frank statement.

“It is our destiny to win this battle which is aimed at destroying the country and turning it into another Syria,” the ministry said.

And the absolutely brutal civil war in Syria is now spilling over into Lebanon.  On Thursday, a Shiite stronghold in Beirut was hit by the worst car bomb attack that Lebanon has witnessed in decades

A powerful car bomb tore through a bustling south Beirut neighborhood that is a stronghold of Hezbollah on Thursday, killing at least 18 and trapping dozens of others in an inferno of burning cars and buildings in the bloodiest attack yet on Lebanese civilians linked to Syria’s civil war.

The blast is the second in just over a month to hit one of the Shiite militant group’s bastions of support, and the deadliest in decades. It raises the specter of a sharply divided Lebanon being pulled further into the conflict next door, which is being fought on increasingly sectarian lines pitting Sunnis against Shiites.

And of course we shouldn’t forget about the war in Yemen either.  Sadly, as Ron Paul recently noted, most Americans don’t even realize what is going on in Yemen…

Most Americans are probably unaware that over the past two weeks the US has launched at least eight drone attacks in Yemen, in which dozens have been killed. It is the largest US escalation of attacks on Yemen in more than a decade. The US claims that everyone killed was a “suspected militant,” but Yemeni citizens have for a long time been outraged over the number of civilians killed in such strikes. The media has reported that of all those killed in these recent US strikes, only one of the dead was on the terrorist “most wanted” list.

This significant escalation of US attacks on Yemen coincides with Yemeni President Hadi’s meeting with President Obama in Washington earlier this month. Hadi was installed into power with the help of the US government after a 2011 coup against its long-time ruler, President Saleh. It is in his interest to have the US behind him, as his popularity is very low in Yemen and he faces the constant threat of another coup.

Unfortunately, this is probably only just the beginning.

The violence in the Middle East is probably going to get much worse, and at some point I expect a major regional war to erupt in the years ahead.

But instead of going back to the White House and at least giving the appearance of being on top of things, Obama plans to continue his golf vacation.

This is so negligent that even the Washington Post is ripping him to shreds…

In a sense, then, Obama might as well play golf. He’s dropped the ball on Egypt and the entire region, leaving the United States with few options and the Egyptian people to a bloody future in the short run and a repressive authoritarian junta in the longer run. This is a policy failure of the highest order.

But this is just par for the course for Obama.

As we learned this week, this is the guy that was actually playing cards during the bin Laden raid…

Despite the picture the White House released showing President Obama intently watching the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, his former “body man” says the president spent most of the raid playing a card game.

“Most people were like down in the Situation Room and [the president] was like, ‘I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing.’ So he, myself, Pete Souza, the White House photographer, Marvin [Nicholson], we must have played 15 games of spades,” former Obama aide Reggie Love said at an event in Los Angeles sponsored by The Artists & Athletes Alliance in July.

Love, who played college basketball and football at Duke University, left the White House in 2011 to attend business school.

You can see video of Obama’s former “body man”, Reggie Love, making these remarks right here.

When it comes to foreign policy, Obama seems to be totally clueless.

So what would happen someday if a major foreign policy crisis erupted that actually seriously threatened our national security?

Would Obama be up to the task?

Let’s hope that we don’t have to find out.

“Currency wars, Trade wars, Currency wars”

    – Gerald Celente

    • Rodster

      …and World wars. 😮

  • Rodster

People also fail to realize we lit the fuse in Egypt back when Helicopter Ben began QE. Basic necessities became more expensive over their because we devalued the dollar. When Egyptians could no longer pay for basic things they turned on their govt and that’s when things turned ugly over there.

    • MeMadMax

      Not quite…
When president Mubarak denounced the new years’ day bombing of a christian church is when the mussies turned on him. Protests began almost exactly two weeks after this occured… Before then, the country was actually quite stable and alot of people I know went “huh”? when people started protesting…

      • Rodster

The young man who set himself on fire would disagree with you. He did it because he couldn’t make ends, was sharing an apt with his family and felt he had NO future as he would forever be trapped in poverty.

QE caused their food prices to jump because it’s the worlds reserve currency.

        • MeMadMax

No, the guy setting himself on fire is just normal muzzie thinking. GDP was at all time high in Egypt in 2011. Egypt never saw a “2008 crash”. In fact, egypt’s GDP was on a downward trend prior to 2007. I posted a link to all of egypt’s economic graph’s that would show you the undeniable truth. The link will pop up on this comment chain whenever the moderator decides to let it in >_>

        • MeMadMax

I would also like to mention that the same thing in lybia happened. Lybia was on the verge of it’s own “industrial revolution”. Gaddaffi had repaved and improved just about every aspect of public sevices in his country… That means new roads, bridges, trains, water, sewage, power, everything. Everything WAS NEW… And you can see the videos that prove it, along with the graphs…. Now… destroyed… that country will never be prosperous again…

  • Louise in MO

It is not surprising to me that Obama has continued playing golf while Egypt and the others are on the brink of a regional war. Let’s hope it’s only a regional war.

Notice in Obama’s short speech, yada, yada, yada, he merely mentioned the burning of christian churches, bldgs. and the like. The Christian faith has never been important to him, here or anywhere.

The Christian faith has always flourished in spite of persecution, and it will go on in spite of the madness in Egypt.

I hope that those who voted for Obama are proud of what they have done. I personally believe him to be the most inept and because of that ineptness, the most dangerous President we have had in the last 50 years.

don’t blame the dog , blame the owner , Obama is just a puppet taking orders !!!

  • Tobias Smith

could the obama supporters on the board provide some thoughts?

    • Sandifer

      • xander cross

Typical racist talk from white men that think that they’re superior than everyone else. It’s not my fault white men sent jobs to others countries because of cheap labor. White men are so sad.

          • xander cross

No. Just exposing white mans greed and evil nature.

          • Tobias Smith

this is not exactly the path I was hoping this would take.

Do not dear insult ‘Dear Leader’ he is beyond reproach.

    • Ackbar

      Piss be upon him…!!!

      • Mondobeyondo

May blessings shower upon him… okay, that’s going a bit too far

  • K

Obama will stop playing golf, when the puppet masters tell him to. The group we support with tax dollars in Syria, have been burning Christian church for many months. Today they executed two children. Yeah that’s your tax dollars at work. Let’s support some more church burning, child murders. As to Egypt, that is part of the plan. They need to boost the price of gas, back out of sight. Oil went to 111 dollars a barrel today, because of concern over the Suez canal. If things truly get out of hand, they may close the Suez. You do not want to know where that would send oil. Crashing the economy is the name of the game. So when it finally does go down the drain. Just remember that has been the plan, for a long time.

    • Rodster

Try $300 per barrel probably within 72 hours. At that point it doesn’t matter if gasoline is $30 per gallon. Good luck finding it.

The economy would come to a screeching halt. Supermarkets would run out of inventory and you know the rest.

    • Syrin

We just sent an aircraft carrier to Bahrain

      • K

Yes, but that was dispatched for the ongoing strikes in Yemen. Their President remains in office, because we keep him there. If it slows up near Yemen, show of support for the President of Yemen. If it goes straight past, to Bahrain. Then more likely something to do with Iran. We are near the deadline, for the attack by Israel on Iran. Could be an interesting few weeks.

      • Mondobeyondo

Oh that’s nice! And what strategic benefit does that provide us?

  • Rufus T Firefly

It’s best for any leader to play golf and let those in the Middle East sort it out like they have been doing for 5,000 years…killing each other.

    • GSOB

      non-interventionism…. yes

BUT let’s get our troops out of Yemen too.

    • rat28

Yeah Obama need a break.. Karma will do the dirty work to continue the cycle of killing in the middle east since these goons started believing in monotheistic religions

“You can see the world war in front of us. There’s a war in Yemen, there’s a war in Bahrain, there’s a war in Syria, there’s a war in Libya. Now there’s wars heating up between Turkey and Syria, between Syria and Lebanon…….There’s a war in Spain. There’s class warfare in Spain, millions
of indignados taking to the streets. There’s class warfare in Greece. It’s class warfare. There’s class warfare in Portugual. There’s class warfare in Italy…….So when these corrupt governments start falling, war keeps heating up…….If there’s war in Iran, it will be hell…….This will be a war of weapons of mass destruction. It will be a war of biological warfare. It will be a war of suitcase-size nuclear weapons……This will be a war where entire cities will be ravaged by weapons of mass destruction, biological warfare, dirty bombs. It
will be hell. It will be what Albert Einstein had said: he knew how World War III would be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”—Gerald Celente

“World war is already going on. When all else fails—after the bankers have robbed us blind and in public—they take you to war. And they’re taking us to war now.” —Gerald Celente

“We’re seeng history repeat it self. The crash of 1929—the panic of ’08. Currency wars, trade war, world war. We’re in currency war. Next comes world war. To get people’s minds off the terrible economics, they take you to war.”—Gerald Celente

“This is an entire global meltdown, and you’re seeing it at every level.”—Gerald Celente

    • Rodster

Well said and yes I agree we have unofficially in a world war for some time now.

      • El Pollo de Oro

Rodster: A friend of mine recently commented that the frightening thing about Gerald Celente is that his predictions are so grim and he has such a great track record. I said, “Yes, exactly. Celente’s extremely learned. He predicted the breakup of the Soviet Union…….check. He predicted a major financial meltdown in the BRA…..can you say, crash of 2008? He predicted that governments would start looting people’s bank accounts….can you say The Great Cyprus Bank Robbery? And now, I sure hope he’s wrong about WWIII combined with The Greatest Depression. But I’m afraid his predictions are spot on.”

Obama is a puppet, pure and simple. He was selected, groomed, given a false past (which can be held over him) and given the office of President. His only job is to read the script they give him and preside over the planned (by ZOG) over the destruction of the USA. By himself, Obama is nothing and a nobody.

    • grumpyhillbilly

I’m all for minding are own business. Yet the lack of reaction just exposes how childish and selfish the progressive mindset really is. What amazes me is that they really still think that a “daddy” figure is going to fix things so they still can run amok with their “progressive” ideas.

    • WeRThrough

I am all for that (you are NOT alone), AND for us to STOP sending millions if not billions in aid to other countries as well!

We can’t stay out of it. We accepted that responsibility by winning WWII (responsibility accepted by default) – and by saying we’re the “world’s superpower” (responsibility accepted by military strength) along with the USSR.. It comes with the responsibility of being the “world’s policeman”. To those who wanted this responsibility – to be a “superpower” – good for you, I guess. And good for the nation, for sure.. But we are now paying a very dear price for it.

Remember, “Fundamental transformation” never meant improvement, only to a utopian ideologue. Mubarak must go ! Gadhafi must go. Morsi, Morsi, he’s our man. “The enemies of Egypt are Israel and the U.S.”, said Morsi. Bibi, we got your back ? Assad must go, oops, not so fast. Putin may have something to say about that. Navy Team Seal 6 on board an old jalopy Chinook helicopter with no ground sweeps beforehand ? Well, you got OBL, what do we get in return ? 4 Americans sacrificed in Benghazi. Help, help, we’re dying. “Stand down” says Lt. Hillary. “What difference does it make at this point”, she wales. Your lives are in my hands. SOBER UP you secular utopian atheists and connect the dots. The R/W/B weeps with American red blood. Christi Fidelis !

How DARE the press attack Obama. The slugs are responsible for whipping up the white guilt and installing this individual as President. They are responsible for what is happening in Egypt because in a very real sense they own Obama’s actions at this point. How pathetically sad that this constitutes our “Press”. We are in deep deep deep trouble.

    • Syrin

Where is the press attacking Obama? They’re still wearing their knee pads with the Obama logo on them

      • xander cross

        Tell that to Fox News.

Very comforting to hear our Commander in Chief is right on top of the situation. How convenient to take a vacation when places halfway around the world are falling apart.

You know what you need, Mr. President? A miniature golf course on the White House lawn. That way, you can stay close to home while you pursue your passion, and at the end of each round, ask Joe Biden to check the Oval Office hotline to see if World War III has broken out. (If he says “yes, the world is now in flames, etc” – proceed to play the next round.)

We may not even get a third as the past 7 yrs of office has produced the same federal debt as the previous 200 yrs. Civil war in Egypt is totally internal issue,, But attach on specific religions like church is international matter of concern.
Its question weather USA can handle such situations or not,, it has been over decade fight on terror in Afghanistan,,with over one trillion dollars expenses,, but end result is nothing but failure.
Most of US strategies in world are always leads to failures, except for USSR dissolution.

The picture you have used is incorrect. It is not Cairo depicted. Seriously, if it was violence, then why get a picture that is clearly on a coastline with a house fire in the back ground. Cairo is not near the coast. And if this picture is actually from Cairo and depicting the violence going on there, then hell, it must not be too bad since everybody is playing in the water at the beach with their families.

Its partly an expected result of the ongoing fight between the UssA/NATO/Israel with their patsy groups of mercs and f…. wackos.
And the Lebanon is the result of loosing insaide Syria, to instigate hate between the Muslim, and Christian all of various sects.
And Hezbollah wwas of course a target, no suprise at all, but I pray that the Lebanes people, used to fractions and policys in the fringes of sanity, manages to stay, cool, calm, and collected.

Loose you head, inot the fire of hatred, demonising and polarising, eatch others and instigate a new round of violence, you will shurly loose you head.

This area has been a disaster for the past 100 years. It was white Christians after WWl that sliced and diced the area into the bizarre country configurations of today.

While Obama is an empty suit, he fits the mold that GWB left behind, except instead of starting needless wars like Iraq and Afghanistan, he avoids them and the thousands of deaths that they caused to both the invaded countries and US military personnel.

You might say the British thought the US was devolving into a chaotic disaster during the late 1700s. One person’s disaster is another’s free republic.

And the needless and senseless deaths of Coptic Christians are inhuman acts. But Muslims in the region have seen the needless and senseless deaths of hundreds of thousands at the hands of white imperialists. Don’t be so blind in your views.

    • Dee R

it was jews who sliced and diced it. City of London. Get your facts right.

I’m no Obama fan, but attacking his vacation time? By this time in his Presidency, GWB had taken far more vacation and if anyone remembers, spent the month of August 2001 on his ranch while the WTC attacks were being planned instead of doing his job and evaluating the mounting intelligence reports that a major attack was imminent. Egypt is a gnat compared to 9/11.

    • Richard

Excuse me? A gnat? Do you happen to know how many people have died in Egypt and how much damage has been done there since the trouble began? I didn’t think so. Let’s not forget Afghanistan. That whole adventure is not going well for the U.S.

    1. It has cost billions upon billions of dollars in military money and developmental aid.

    2. The Taliban is stronger than ever, so strong that the U.S. government is trying to make peace with them.

    3. The training of the Afghani army has been a total failure.

    4. Our troops can not venture safely from the main bases and checkpoints. Only Kabul can be considered safe.

    5. The puppet government of Hamid Karzai is so corrupt that they are charging devastating taxes on foreign aid. ((They have even levied fees on military equipment leaving the country and have ordered the U.S. trained Afghani troops to block the roads unless they are paid.))

    6. Pakistan and Iran remain safe havens for terrorists. Pakistan requires billions in bribes to ensure cooperation on simply keeping the roads open among other things.

    Complete nightmare.

    Excellent article, Michael. Thank you.

That is why the NDAA is in place to put down the Amerikan people if they dare to rise up against their corporate masters.
So there will be unsucessful American spring uprisings, because the people will be fighting against the biggest military machine in the world.
There are also foreign troops in Amerika to help the corporate establishment to put down the Amerikan serfs and remember there are treaties with Canada and Mexico to send in their troops to crush any dissent.
The corrupt government knows things are going to go sour here in Amerika and they are preparing to deal with it. look at Boston and other urban drills. The Sheeple seem to be OK with it.

Michael thought that Hillary was a joke, so he has reaped what he has sown.

I love it mooslims destroying christian churches… just makes my point America is totally gutless to fight a religious JIHAD, we should have been aiming at the mosques in Iraq and Afghanistan, and not harming innocent people.

  • chris

I wonder if anyone can remember the early days of the presidency of George Bush junior? Wasn’t he known as the president who was always on holiday or playing golf or at his ranch or something. Then 9/11 and Afghanistan and Iraq took place. It’s almost like he got all his holidays in early for some reason……

    • Rick Caird

Amnswer: No, he was not known as the President that was always on holiday.

        Bush apologist?

          Obama Apologist?

          • Gay Veteran

Nope. But Bush the Stoopid was on vacation more than Obama

  • El Pollo de Oro

Colin: That’s one of the reasons why I call it The Banana Republic of America. We have the income inequality of a banana republic as well as the corruption and police state of a banana republic. The ghosts of Mussolini, Franco, Bautista, Perón, Somoza, Borderberry and Trujillo are smiling. Although English is my primary language, I lapse into Spanish and Italian a lot because on so many levels, I’m surrounded by that whole banana republic ambiance.

  • davidtgh

Not to defend him necessarily, but Obama has taken about 100 days of vacation since he was sworn in. Bush took 367, an entire year off.

    • Boo-urns

Too bad he always has to fly himself, the Queen and his kids, and now his dog, on separate planes and helicopters, each with large entourages, at ENORMOUS expense to the taxpayers. Can’t they just all go to the same place, at the same time, together, like a normal family???

    • Rick Caird

You, Obama defenders never seem to defend Obama. They only manage to invoke Bush. Is that all “they got”?

  • Boo-urns

Why do we care what the hell happens over there? We just need to stay the hell out of it, period.

  • Rick Caird

The picture of Obama in the situation room has always looked wrong in that he was way off to the side acting like a latecomer. Turns out he was.

  • DJohn1

If Egypt is going to have a Civil War, who do we give their foreign aid to?

  • Richard O. Mann

If all wars could be fought on the golf course, we would be in like Flint. But, they don’t. Party on people.

Obama ALWAYS supports the militant Islamists–ALWAYS. He supported and armed the rebels in Libya and provided air fire and support–and the “rebels in Libya were Al Quada- no question of this fact. He supports Erdogan in Turkey who is quelling a little reported uprising in Turkey. The Turkish constitution dictates a secular society where no religion-specifically Sharia–shall be the law of the land. Erdogan is forcingt Islamic control on a country that was secular and mostly a westernized ally.
We arm the Syrian “rebels” and even the lame stream media promote the ouster of Assad. However the truth is that Syria has been a healthy-mostly peaceful and mostly democratic country under Assad. There are Muslims, Christiand Jews and varying other non-traditional islamists of from the sunni/shiite/kurdic norm of the area. AGAIN..Obama sends weapons and voices support of the “rebels” which are again- Al Quada and mercenaries.
His radical muslim brotherhood friends in Egypt are having some issues since the people and military have overthrown the president from the last corrupt elections…he remains quiet and the muslim brotherhood which murders Christians everywhere they can find some, is lauded in the MSM as the rightful party of power…
In Yemen, we are essentially terrorists. Obama’s kill list murders dozens and dozens of innocents and children. Imagine a small child and mother at a humble dinner table and the child fears that a drone may drop a bomb indiscriminately on their home and kill them–the child lives in terror. Why? Because maybe the father or brother went to the same mosque as a person on O’s kill list–or maybe he got a wrong number on his phone–or maybe just is a middle-aged male Islamic ( automatically making him a “terror suspect” according to O’s people).
If the party in power is tolerant of Christians and non-militant, then their days are numbered. If the “rebels aim is to create Sharia and murder any non-militant Islamists–then Obama will send them arms and money…just look at the facts..
Now Obama can bow and kiss the hand of the Saudi Royal..he has followed his orders well..

    • Gay Veteran

uh, no, his corporate masters demand their war profits

do the gerald celente fans subscribe to his journal?

  • fleabug

Of course the musssslime president won’t cancell his golf vacation, he has already sent money and arms to the animals in Egypt. According to Berry’s faith ( which is islaaamm not Christianity) the more bloodshed the better.

  • Concerned Boy

    I am very concerned

  • Mondobeyondo

Sounds very reminiscent of pre WWII Europe and Africa. That’s why I’m nervous.

Hitler was off doing his thing, conquering Czechoslovakia and other little countries, while Mussolini was gobbling up Ethiopia. 80+ years later, and not much has changed. Just a few name changes… Iran instead of Germany. Barack Obama instead of Neville Chamberlain, etc.

    This will not end well.

  • homer

So what. How many weeks has he been in office? I have no problem with him playing golf on average once every couple of weeks. I do have a problem with his governing, but he does deserve some down time.

  • ascot flintham

do you lot honestly think Obama or any other leader… gives two hoots ??? all they are is puppets takeing orders n picking up there wage packet each week , when will this world wake up ????

  • It shouldn’t be surprising that a president who slept when OUR men were being killed in Bengazi would vacation while the world is burning

  • Sabido Robles

In a just world, the insane, barbaric Muzzies and the the evil, Satanic Jews would annihilate each other at the same time!
