Full Spectrum Dominance: 8 Examples Of How The Government Is Attempting To Take Total Control Of Our Food, Our Health, Our Money And Even Our Dignity

Over the past several decades, no matter which political party has been in power the government has continued to become a larger part of our lives. These days many people are speaking of the "nanny state" that we have created, but the reality is far worse than that. The truth is that the government has become a gluttonous, out of control behemoth that is gobbling up everything in sight and that is attempting to exert full spectrum dominance over our lives.  Today, the government seems to have an insatiable hunger to watch us, track us and control us.  Now they even want to feel our private parts before we get on an airplane.  No matter what politicians we send to Washington D.C., it just seems to get worse and worse.  Anyone who still believes that we live in "the land of the free" is completely and totally delusional.

It isn't just in one particular area that all of this government intrusion into our lives is so offensive.  What we are witnessing is the government slowly digging its fingers even deeper into our lives in a thousand different ways.  Sadly, most Americans see the government as the one who is supposed to take care of them from the cradle to the grave, as the one who is supposed to fix all of the problems in society and as the one who is their ultimate authority.

This is in direct contradiction to the concept of a "limited government" that our Founding Fathers tried so desperately to enshrine in our founding documents.  The American people need a big-time wake up call.  The following are 8 examples of how the U.S. government is attempting to take even more control over our lives....

#1 Taking Total Control Of Our Food - S. 510 "The Food Safety Modernization Act"

S. 510, "The Food Safety Modernization Act", is another huge power grab by the FDA and the federal government over our food supply.  The bill is written so broadly and so vaguely that nobody really knows what it means.  The potential for abuse of these vague new powers would be staggering.  So will the government abuse these powers?  Those who are in favor of the bill say that of course the government will be reasonable, but those who are opposed to the bill point to all of the other abuses that are currently taking place as evidence that we simply cannot trust the feds with vague, undefined powers.

Fortunately, the Tester Amendment has been attached to S. 510 at least for now, but big agriculture is not happy about this, and they will be doing everything they can to get it kicked out of the final version of the law.  In any event, if this food safety law does get passed, tens of millions of Americans will be left wondering what they are allowed to grow in their back yards, what seeds they are allowed to save and what can and cannot be sold at farmer's markets.

In case you think this is paranoid, just consider what is already happening.  It has been documented that the feds recently raided an Amish farmer at 5 AM in the morning because they claimed that he was was engaged in the interstate sale of raw milk in violation of federal law.  If the feds are willing to stoop so low as to raid Amish farmers, do you think they will have any hesitation when the time comes to raid your home?

#2 Taking Total Control Of Air Travel - The Dehumanizing Full Body Scanners And "Enhanced Pat-Downs"

Totalitarian governments throughout history have always sought to dehumanize their subjects.  Sadly, that is exactly what is happening in America today.  If you want to get on an airplane in the United States, you will now be forced to either let TSA agents gawk at your naked body or let TSA agents grope your entire body including your genitals.

What these TSA agents are being instructed to do to ordinary Americans is so bizarre that it is hard to believe.  It is being reported that in many instances TSA agents are actually reaching down the pants of male travelers and up the skirts of female travelers.  One retired special education teacher was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an "enhanced pat-down" by TSA agents.  Quite a number of women that have been through these "enhanced pat-downs" have used the phrase "sexual assault" to describe the experience.

So is this what America has become?  A place that is so "dangerous" that we all must be treated like prison inmates?  Large numbers of Americans are swearing that they will simply not fly anymore, but what happens when these "enhanced pat-downs" start showing up at our schools, our shopping centers and our sporting events someday?

#3 Taking Total Control Of Our Health Care - The Loss Of Our Health Freedom

Once upon a time, Americans had control over their own health care decisions.  That is no longer true today.  Thanks to major changes in our health care laws, the health care landscape in America has been dramatically changed.  Americans are now forced to participate in the officially-sanctioned health care system by purchasing health insurance.  But Americans cannot just get any kind of health insurance policy that they want.  Our health insurance choices are now tightly constrained by thousands of regulations.

Not only that, but doctors in America no longer have the freedom to treat patients however they see fit.  Only "approved" treatments are permissible, and now the federal government is going to be telling doctors which of those "approved" treatments are "cost-effective" enough.  As the new health care laws are fully implemented over the next decade, the American people are going to become truly horrified not only about how much their health insurance premiums are going up, but also about how much health freedom they have actually lost.

#4 Taking Control Of Our Money - Multiplying Taxes

Whenever one tax goes down, it seems like several other taxes either go up or get invented.  The truth is that Americans are being drained by the federal government, state governments and local governments in dozens upon dozens of different ways.  To our various levels of government, our primary function is to serve as a revenue source.  Each year it seems like they find more ways to stick it to us.  In fact, it looks like 2011 is going to be a banner year for tax increases.  If you doubt this, just see my previous article entitled "2011: The Year Of The Tax Increase".

#5 Taking Control Of Our Businesses - Thousands Of Ridiculous Regulations

Why would anyone in America even attempt to be an entrepreneur today?  Most small businesses are literally being strangled by hordes of red tape.

Just consider how things have changed in America.  The Federal Register is the main source of regulations for U.S. government agencies.  In 1936, the number of pages in the Federal Register was about 2,600.  Today, the Federal Register is over 80,000 pages long.

The following is just one example of how bizarre things have gotten in this country.  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is projecting that the food service industry will have to spend an additional 14 million hours every single year just to comply with new federal regulations that mandate that all vending machine operators and chain restaurants must label all products that they sell with a calorie count in a location visible to the consumer.

Do we really need to spend 14 million more hours telling Americans that if they keep eating hamburgers and fries that they are likely to get fat?

But it is not just the federal government that is the problem.  One reader recently described how difficult  it was to try to run a business in the state of California....

Had 10 employees, but one almost exclusively to deal with government regs, taxes, reporting etc, Received a $144 penalty for a .33 (yes, cents)error on my quarterly payroll taxes from Cal Franchise Tax Board. I called to ask if that was not a bit repressive, why level penalize someone for what was obvisouly a didminimus error? I was told “we would have penalized you if it was .03!” I said, I did not volunteer to be the income tax collector for the State and Fed government, you should be paying me to do all this work and insane paper pushing. Reply: “That is part of the PRIVILIGE of being a business owner!!!”

#6 Taking Control Of Our Environment - The Green Police

The government is using the "green movement" as an excuse to take an unprecedented amount of control over our lives.  From coast to coast, communities have been given government grants to track our trash with RFID microchips. The following are just some of the communities that will now be using microchips to track what we throw away....

*Cleveland, Ohio

*Charlotte, North Carolina

*Alexandria, Virginia

*Boise, Idaho

*Dayton, Ohio

*Flint, Michigan

Not only that, but some cities are now starting to fine citizens for not recycling properly.

In Cleveland, Ohio if an RFID tracking chip signals that a recycle bin has not been brought out to the curb within a certain period of time, a "trash supervisor" will actually sort through the trash produced by that home for recyclables.

According to Cleveland Waste Collection Commissioner Ronnie Owens, trash bins that contain over 10 percent recyclable material will be subject to a $100 fine.

Does that sound like America to you?

Now we don't even have the freedom to throw out trash the way we want to.

#7 Taking Away Our Independence - The Exploding Welfare State

You don't have much freedom if you can't take care of yourself.  But in America today, tens of millions of Americans have literally become completely dependent on the government for survival.  Over 42 million Americans are now on food stamps.  Approximately one out of every six Americans is enrolled in a federal anti-poverty program.

The number of Americans living in poverty has increased for three consecutive years, and the 43.6 million poor Americans in 2009 was the highest number that the U.S. Census Bureau has ever recorded in 51 years of record-keeping.

The more Americans that are destitute and totally dependent on the government the easier it will be for the government to control them.  Today a rapidly growing percentage of Americans fully expect the government to take care of them.  But this is not what our founders intended.

#8 Taking Away Our Patriotism - We Are Even Losing The Freedom To Be Proud Of America

Do you ever think things will get so repressive in America that a group of high school students will be forbidden from singing the national anthem at the Lincoln Memorial?  Well, that has already happened.  Do you think that areas of our nation will ever become so anti-American that they will forbid students from riding to school with an American flag on their bikes?  Well, that has already happened.

Fortunately, there was such an uproar over what happened to 13-year-old Cody Alicea that it made national headlines and he ended up being escorted to school by hundreds of other motorcycles and bicycles - most of them displaying American flags as well.  The school reversed its policy and now Cody can ride his bike to school every day proudly displaying the American flag.

But what if nobody had decided to stand up?

That school would have gotten away with banning the flag if the American people had allowed them to.

Our liberties and our freedoms are under attack from a thousand different directions and they are being stripped away from us at a blinding pace.

It has gotten to the point where most of us just sit in our homes and enjoy the "freedom" of digesting the "programming" that is constantly being hurled at us through our televisions.  Of course the vast majority of that programming is produced by just 6 monolithic corporations that control almost everything that we watch, hear and read.

Power and money have become more highly concentrated in America today than ever before, and yet most Americans don't even realize it.

Most Americans are so busy just trying to survive from month to month that they don't even have time to think about the deeper issues.  At the end of the night most of them are so exhausted from serving the system that all they can do is collapse on the sofa and turn on some programming.

But the American people desperately need to wake up.  Without liberty and freedom our country cannot work.  But our freedoms and liberties are being stripped away a little bit more each and every day.

The America that so many of us grew up adoring is dying right in front of our eyes.  If you plan on saying something about it, you better do so before it is too late.

Regarding Item #7, are you aware of any charts / timelines showing the parallel between US increasing socialism and the resulting disparity in incomes…more people in poverty, vanishing middle class, all being run by the governmental elite.

With all the power they already enjoy, people in the White House or in Congress have no particular interest in controlling the lives of each and every citizen.

Corporations certainly are more interested, as long as more control translates into more profit, which is generally the case.

Therefore, one should avoid focusing on the government, while missing the real guilty which, unfortunately, is private Big Business!

Big Business manipulates the government by means of corruption, a poison delivered to politicians by one of American citizens’ worst enemies: lobbyists!

Having said that, the US has begun a mutation process, triggered decades ago, with the collapse of the USSR…

Well, what did you expect? The average American stopped thinking for them self 35 years ago. Most Americans want Socialism,we just don’t call it socialism. Its mom and pop on Social Security and Medicare,Its the poor on welfare, food stamps and ADC. Its a cushy overpaid government “job” for life. Its a student loan or grant. Its an FHA home or mortgage. Its farm subsidies. Its every free handout, something for nothing housing project, unemployment compensation check etc.etc. Its putting in a nickle and taking out a dollar. 3/4 of the American adult population have sold their souls to be on the government gravy train. well, that train is about to go over a cliff. Then what? Most Americans have had chance after chance to stop the tide of collectivism that is now drowning America, but did nothing. They sold their birthright of liberty for security and now they will have neither liberty or security but a lousy Social Security number and a ball and chain shackled around their leg. Goodbye liberty, hello serfdom.

I love it when people say “wake up”. First if you did wake up you’re totally powerless to invoke any change. The police are not your friend they work for the government. The laws are written to control you and your behavior. Try and just protest and see what kind of police response you get. Second, for those who are not awoken, the elitists are master manipulators – last election they conned America with a black president and his message of “hope and change”. Next up in 2012 they will give you the anti-Obama. And you keep going out and “voting” for these people with all this hope and change in mind when all you will ever get is some prostituting puppet for the wealthy and the globalists. So instead, I say – “go back to sleep”. Ignorance is bliss.

@Brunolem, weirdly I was just pondering this tonight… that the mutation process in this country was triggered by the collapse of the USSR… was also thinking about how in order for global corporate totalitarianism to come into full being, nation states have to be brought to their knees. This is harder to do in a “bi-polar” world than a “uni-polar” world. A thoroughly corrupt military hegemonic power (US) provides both the cover and the muscle for the transfer of power from national governments to a free-floating global elite. Will go take a look at your webpage…

So lets do something about it. Lets begin with number one in the list. Tell all your friends about the Food Safety Act and how vague it is. Encourage everyone you know to phone/write/email their representative and their senator to vote against this act unless it is written in a more transparent manner.
Write to you local paper – you don’t want to alienate people, so don’t rant. Ask the author of this blog is you can lift some of his information. If you belong to a church or organization, start an awareness campaign. Or start your own group.
Democracy doesn’t just mean voting for d-heads with a sense of entitlement. It means staying informed, informing others, and then acting on the information.

The real problem is that the US Constitution is no longer the supreme law of the land. How strange that the Republicans have been returned to power in the US House when Republican George W. (Smirking Chimp and war criminal) Bush totally trashed the Constitution. But, this has been going on for many decades. Just read the part of the US Constitution regarding creating money and you will learn that the Federal Reserve is unconstitutional, and has been so since 1913. Finally, the failure of Obummer and his administration to hold accountable members of the Bush administration for their crimes clearly signals that America is doomed.

What we’re facing in America is not dissimilar to what happened toward the end of the Roman Empire. Rome’s government was faced with a need to try to control and manage the population, to try to prop up the Empire, even as the Empire was clearly falling apart. Even free workers began to be treated like slaves as times grew more and more desperate. Then, before anyone could grasp what had happened, the Empire was gone. America seems to be heading down a similar road, where there is no way to put the brakes on the inevitable collapse, yet government is getting more frantic and paranoid about trying to maintain some order in the nation.

There’s really not a lot that most people can do that this point, except try to stay out of trouble and provide for their families as the collapse intensifies, as well as trying to hang on to the things which are really important. See http://leibowitzsociety.blogspot.com for more.

  • Mr Carpenter

I think the powers that be are intentionally destroying the US economy.

Isn’t that another way of saying they are all treasonous? High treason, in fact.

What’s the penalty for High Treason? You know, don’t you? You all know.

Interestingly enough, since High Treason may only be committed by citizens, that’ll ensure that The Occupant declares that it’s all been a mistake – gee whiz, his dad was born in Kenya, a British protectorate; he’s not really an American citizen…..

(Of course, once that happens, it’ll be realized by anyone with common sense that EVERY SINGLE THING done by a non-citizen acting as President is null and void – every single law signed into effect from Congress – null and void. Every action, including putting GI’s in harms way – and which would then open the United States to WAR CRIMES tribunals)

    There’s a way out.

The Occupant should resign. The government should stand down. The banksters should all quit. The Fed should be abolished. The TSA should be disbanded and private enterprise (taking a cue from El Al airlines) should make sure of security – and stay within legal, Constitutional bounds.

Then we should get Constitutionalists to take over Washington, dismantle the 99% illegal systems there in place, pull us out of the United Nations, and demand the UN leave the US.

But of course, none of this will happen.

So instead, we get to watch as our nation deteriorates and implodes. With no consequences to those who purposefully are destroying it.

FDR once said “there are no accidents in politics”. In other words, if you have high inflation, and no rights, high taxation and no Constitution, that’s because the people in politics have decided that’s what is going to be.

So, now what do we – the people – do?

  • Devan

That was a very good article Michael. You always collect all the pieces to show us how limited our liberties have become. I agree with you in saying that anyone who still believes that we live in “the land of the free” is completely and totally delusional. It is sad they don’t cover these stories on the main line news. Today I really don’t think anyone has time to even catch the news as most people have to work two jobs to pay the bills. It has only been in the last few years that they have really introduced a lot of these regulations it seems. Thank you for writing these indepth articles. They are every exposing.

The only way to fight back is to stand up and speak out. Unfortunately you are correct in stating that Americans are too tired to do so, in general. That said, it’s our own damned fault. Americans are only looking our for themselves as individuals, not as communities. It’s not all for one and one for all. It’s just about me. TV and other entertainment, alcohol and other drugs, under-sized staffing and extended hours keep the population muted and exhausted. When life was “good” (say around 2005, when everyone was going wild with credit and cheap mortgages), no one said a damned thing. Now, we’ve screwed ourselves and we’re angry. We did it to ourselves. Now, are we going to do something about it or just whine and do nothing? Most people have no idea what to do, and the TV and beer will make the pain go away.

  • DC

It seems to me a few of your points above are taken out of context.

#1 Food Safety. Do you remember when it used to be safe to eat raw eggs? Now you have to treat every egg as if it has salmonella. The reason is because of the conditions chickens are raised in today, compared to even just 30 years ago. There are actually fewer meat inspectors today than 40 years ago, during a time when meat production has only gone up.

#2 Airport Security. Now here I agree with you 100%. Airport security is theater, not real security. El Al — probably the most secure airline in the world — considers whole body scanners to be useless and will not be installing any. Meanwhile back in the US, air freight is not inspected, and unlike pilots, the aircraft cleaning crews never go through any checks. Guess how the terrorists will strike next?

#3 Health Care. Everyone keeps having a fit about “government” telling doctors what they can or cannot do, while completely ignoring the fact insurance companies have been far more intrusive for years. “Obamacare” does nothing to fix this basic problem.

#4 Taxes. It is ironic to me that we in the US scream louder than anyone else about taxes (at least it seems that way), while having some of the lowest tax rates in the world. And most of the complaining comes from those who are taxed the least as a percentage of income — the very rich. We have gone from “Noblesse Oblige” when the wealthy felt an obligation to help those less fortunate than themselves, to an attitude of “the more I have, the more I deserve to have more.”

#5 Regulations. Not too much to say here, except it seems clear to me regulations favor big established business at the expense of small ones.

#6 Green Police. Yes, something does need to be done to improve recycling and reduce what winds up in landfills. That said, I agree the “green police” is the wrong way to do it. The Japanese have some of the best recycling in the world, and yet households don’t have to worry about separating garbage. Instead of “green police,” the garbage is sorted at collection facilities. Of course, that means hiring people as sorters, which increases the cost of collection. But I think that approach is preferable to being dicks to households.

#7 Welfare State. Among first-world countries, we have the least “safety net.” Our safety net is more in line with third-world countries. You should also expect more people to need assistance during bad economic times. The real problem, as I see it, is not how many people receive assistance, but the way out of whack budget.

#8 Freedom. The Lincoln Memorial is explicitly designated as off limits for protests. It doesn’t matter who you are – you cannot expect a pass just because of the song you choose to sing. Would it be okay with you if a bunch of unwashed hippies started to sing the national anthem in the same location? If not, then you are a hypocrite.

And as for the kid with the flag, why is it okay to improperly display our flag, as long as the person doing it is conservative? Our flag is not allowed to touch the ground, be on a flag pole after dark or during inclement weather, and on a vehicle it must be displayed in a leading position (i.e., in front), not trailing. Finally, the proper disposal of an old flag is to burn it. I see all these things violated all the time by people who think they have an exclusive lock on patriotism.

  • Dave

I say let’s get it on.
Let’s get this show on the road so that we can “form a more perfect union”.
The big flag that will tell us that they’re making the final assault on our liberties will be attempted gun confiscations.
That will mean serious business is about to unfold on us (and them as well).

  • zack

Many in the government would have us all become dependent on the government so that we will re-elect them. So the government destroys markets and creates crises (health care???), then bills itself as the solution to addressing the problem.

  • http://tinyurl.com/My-Philosophy-Books-on-Amazon Don Robertson

The occurrence of these constraints upon our human selves, and the impact these constraints will have on future generations, is challenging the nature of what it means to be human.

The argument would be, -this is progress-.

Though, here we can lay the foundation of an important argument about what progress is, which I will proceed to do -right here.

Unfortunately -our educational institutions impart the profane notion that science is the source of progress.

Science has given us, these back-scatter X-ray machines, and worse, -but science has given us nothing we should teach our children is “progress”.

Progress would occur and be a reality ONLY if we can understand this ourselves, and that we could teach our children this about reality.

Science is the source of our enslavement.

And here, we come full circle and back to this article, and the source of the greatest part of our delusion concerning what “progress” might be.

Embedded within the consciousness of most people today, within the article and indeed, within this article’s title, is this notion, -The Government Is Attempting To Take Total Control-.

This is a fallacy, writ large.

The government does not in fact exist in the sense it can do this. The government is not a thinking-consciousness as this statement irrefutable implies.

The government is made of people like Michael Chertoff and Barack Obama, the State Policeman, the IRS Agent and the TSA Goon.

It is only these people who can do these things to any of us.

They may have been given their orders from some other human being -but regardless- for every act there is required a thinking-conscious-entity to set it into motion, and to execute such an act.

Until we teach our children the difference, and indeed, until we all recognize the difference, no one is going to effectively act to stop these things from happening.

There you go. Now you know who did this vile thing that the article is telling us is being done by the government.

The government doesn’t exist -except as how you think it exists -and how you let it exist.

Do some study on what happened in Russia between 1917 and about 1923. You will be amazed that a very small number of people were able to create a nightmare that uutimately killed about 66 million people. The very same thing is happening here in America now. Study the Cheka and the NKVD and the KGB. We now have our brands of these
evil organizations, the FBI and the CIA and the TSA. There are too many people in America who believe we should be risk free at all times. That is impossible. As for flying, as a military retiree and Vietnam volunteer and Vietnam veteran, I just refuse to be poked and prodded and questioned by power mad and strutting little jackasses from the TSA who are not fit to be in the same room where I am, breathing the same air I breathe.

This slow retrograde into Federal government unconstitutional control over the states is not something that started recently. Ever since the civil war the reality of personal control over our lives has been diminished. Each step was taken by Americans we look at as heroes today: from Abraham Lincoln, to Franklin Roosevelt. Each step was considered necessary in the trouble we were experiencing and we were promised once the trouble was over it would revert back the way it was. Now government does not even promise to revert. Like the frog in boiling water we have gotten use to the nanny state and look to the Federals to get us out of every emergency.

When you see the rise of the men of the double standard–the men who live by force, yet count on those who live by trade to create the value of their looted money–the men who are the hitchhikers of virtue. In a moral society, these are the criminals, and the statutes are written to protect you against them. But when a society establishes criminals-by-right and looters-by-law–men who use force to seize the wealth of disarmed victims–then money becomes its creators’ avenger. Such looters believe it safe to rob defenseless men, once they’ve passed a law to disarm them. But their loot becomes the magnet for other looters, who get it from them as they got it. Then the race goes, not to the ablest at production, but to those most ruthless at brutality. When force is the standard, the murderer wins over the pickpocket. And then that society vanishes, in a spread of ruins and slaughter.
Do you wish to know whether that day is coming? Watch money. Money is the barometer of a society’s virtue. When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion–when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing–when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors–when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you–when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice–you may know that your society is doomed. Money is so noble a medium that is does not compete with guns and it does not make terms with brutality. It will not permit a country to survive as half-property, half-loot.
Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men’s protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold was an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it. Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked, ‘Account overdrawn.’
“When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect them to stay moral and lose their lives for the purpose of becoming the fodder of the immoral. Do not expect them to produce, when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask, ‘Who is destroying the world? You are.

The main problem is when we think the society, through force, is who should “take care of (each of) us.” If ever we can get the nation away from thinking in that direction, then we would go a great distance to eliminating most of what is published in the Federal Register. As it stands, most of what is written in the Federal Register is anathema to what a society needs to survive; it is what will destroy our nation.

I never grew a garden in my life. But if S510 passes I will grow everything using airloom seeds. Then I will post a sign on the highway “free garden vegtables” and give them all away, and give each person a package of seeds encouraging them to also grow their own garden.

In the early 1980′s the irs passed a retro-active tax law targeting and punishing my industry, an industry that was being blackmailed by a FEDeral agency into forming a PAC and sending funds to D.C.. I read the Constitution, discovered that it was against the Constitution of the USA to pass a retro-active law. I called this to the attention of a senator, who got the irs to try and put me in prison to shut me up…. that was 25 yrs ago. I can’t imagine how bad it is today. Today, the FEDs might just kill you. It’s more effective and cheaper. Your freedom is already gone. I would advise you to leave while you still can, period!

When are we going to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough?

  • http://www.elcapitaz.com Bilderberg Secretary General

Now now, Michael, you’re getting yourself upset, all worked up, and for what? We know you think you would be happier retaining your freedom and liberty, but can’t you see beyond your selfish perspective, can’t you see that the greater good is for us to protect you and your fellow citizens?

    Accept reality. Accept your fate.

You know, the Chinese philosophy Confucianism, long ago, taught the peasants that they would be much happier if they would only accept their lot in life. It will all work out for the best in the end, you’ll see.

Let me give you an example. Years ago, I was living primarily at my county estate. I had a dog, named Marx. Marx was a hunting dog, and he loved to run free on the estate, to chase rabbits, to hunt fox. He was the happiest beast to roam the earth.

But things change. We started staying in the city almost all the time. We had to put Marx on a leash. He resented that, he resisted it. We had to turn him into a house pet, but he didn’t like it. Like you with your dissident blogs, Marx acted up.

One day, Marx chewed up my favorite slippers. So I took Marx to the veterinarian, and had him castrated.

It was for his own good. Otherwise, we would have had to put him down.

At first, Marx was a little confused. But we had lots of medication and painkillers. I got him a comfortable pillow to lay upon by the hearth. In time, he grew to appreciate the changes.

Can’t you appreciate progress, Michael? You don’t want to deny the greater good, do you? Are we going to have to make an appointment with “The Vet” for you? Think about it.

I read enough of the comments and not one of them mentioned the national anthem or flying the american flag. That is by far the most disturbing thing listened to me, at least. When stuff like that happens anything is possible. I’m still waiting to hear from a neocon who loves america and calls himself free or a patriot. I used to be like that, a couple years ago but I evolved. I’m in my twenties but I still see people in their fifties and sixties who believe that republicans are gonna fight for them and they’ve never grasped the fact that republicans work for the same bankers and corporations as the democrats. To much money to be made selling the partisan line and people on the right idolize their republican voices like rush limbaugh or to a lesser extent sean vannity.

I spaced about the tsa, I think that is probably the worst thing listed. They all suck.

We need a third political party. I am sick to death of the lesser of 2 evils.

I wish we could be more socialist. No more me me me but we we we. Capitalism is too unstable.

I would love a nice well paying government job. How in the hell can I get one?

Screw the private sector. Low paying shit jobs.

Does anyone wonder why Communist USA ( the largest Communist group in America and La Raza (Marxists)the largest Mexican group in America) support the Democrats with time, money and openly marching with them. Eight-three plus member of Congress belong to the Democrats Socialist of America which joined a Communist group in 1983. Progressive Democrats are Communists. Progressive (Communists) Democrats and Democrats of America push a Communist agenda. George Bush and old time Republicans are following a Statist (Socialist/Nazi/Communist) ideology. We are not free we are living in a country that is merging with Communism. China is more free than the US. Scary but true. Google and do your homework.

  • Ouida Gabriel

    Gary2,

Socialism is about me, me, me. What can the government do for me? What can my neighbor do for me? How much money can you give me?

Socialism is not the answer but you sure may get it if America does not get off their rear ends and do something about it.

    Ouida Gabriel

  • john w

    Good points everyone.
    Now do something.
Don’t ask “When are we/they going to do something for me?”
Say “I am going to do something today”
Then, without resorting to violence, do something meaningful. It can be something small. Once you do it, it will become easier to take bigger steps.
Democracy means you and me taking responsibility.

    Good stuff Mike.

Watching the Chinese controlled Norks firing on S Korea this a.m. Nothing like a little bloodshed there to cause our currency to rise so China can export some more slave labor products to us on the cheap.

Talk of a bloodbath too, am looking forward to it.

The article didn’t even touch on the state controlling families. What judge has the right to tell a parent when they can and cannot see their children (as in the case of divorce) or where the child should live or how to discipline a child or educate them? Families are the nucleus of society. The government is stripping away parental rights and preferences.

STOP SPENDING YOUR MONEY ON ANYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING! When you are out of cash, you are out of the game! You lose your ability to speak your mind! Boycotts will close down the biggest institutions.

  • Mr Carpenter

Gary I think you’re a troll sent here to stir things up.

Why don’t you go get a nice job at the TSA, and start feeling up 3 year olds? Then when the drek hits the air recirculating device, we real Americans can give you a fair trial and once you’ve been found guilty of being a pedophile, we can put you away in a nice place for the rest of your natural life, where you’ll be well taken care of. You’ll even have a sex-life – of sorts….

As for the rest of us, we’d rather take the chance with real life and Liberty, including the chance of success – or failure – and the chance to get back up after failure to try to succeed again. Freely.

  • titan5.6

I paid into Social Security for 40 years and it was solvent til’ the assholes inside the Beltway put it in the General Fund, borrowed from it, didn’t pay it back and gave away to immigrants who didn’t contribute.

  • AndAnotherThing

Not to add more to the brew, but another very serious issue is the advance of Muslims and their culture into our society. They bring with them Sharia law and will stop at nothing until they take over America, as they have taken over England, Germany, France. Political correctness is a large part of what is bringing down our country. We are too politically correct to protect ourselves from Sharia law (plus illegal aliens, etc., etc.). Add this to the 8 in the article and we have a lot of fire power leveled at we the people. The writing is on the wall; it’s time to get out.

  • Craig

@titan I know that pisses me off!!! Its the only reason they were able to balance the budget for one year too, yet our deficit was still in the red 5.5 trillion at the time. You den of thieves and fork tongued vipers!

  • Lennie Pike

  • http://ariel.org stilus

I think we are witnessing the transformation of our society from one stage to the next, much like the change from the Roman Empire to the Middle Ages, only this would be a change from the east-west balance of power, from 364 AD to present, to a one world gubermint. But it’s all part of the same gentile kingdom: the indescribable Beast that crushes and absorbs everything in its way.

    The Beast
    1. Roman Empire
    2. east-west balance of power
    3. one world government
    4. 10 nation world gov’t
    5. “The Beast” (union of a man and the devil)rules the world.

Capitalism has failed. Time to try a more sensible approach. The govermenty should own the banks and oil companies to keep us stable.

Tea Baggers want to take our personal freedom. Ban abortions, gay marriage, adoption rights. These people want the GOVERMENT to make personal decisions. They use their religion as a weapon against us.

  • Doug Walsh

The previous comment is another example of the blind being led by the blind. The failure to apply common sense and do their due diligence and homework is manifested in ignorance. The government has never “fixed” anything. The comment that “capitalism has failed” shows how the uneducated “lemmings” are following the dictates and direction of progressive nonsense. There are no historical models of liberal successes and progressive utopias to emulate. History is littered with failed examples of repressive governments. Yet we are led to believe that more government and less freedoms are the answer.

For those that are sincere about finding the truth of why our country is in such a mess look back just a couple of decades and research what secularism has done in this country. “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”

  • chrisPeper

I came of age during the “Dug war.” As the drug war came into full swing, the bible believing Christians had the attitude that: “as long as the hippies and the dark races are being abused it is ok.” It is funny how the “war on terror” is beginning to go after Christians and white men and now they have a problem with the police state but not before.

The takeover began – and ended – with the demise of Christianity in America. We were destined to bring in the NWO and succumbed to that plan when the churches rejected Jesus Christ in this nation and began to preach feel-good-on-your-way-to-hell nonsense. Not only have many “Christian” churches led souls to hell through their false gospel, they have also allowed this nation to go to hell.

This articvle is so obviously exaggerated and guided by one viewpoint that I can hardly take it seriously. I own a small business and I do not have one person assigned to government forms. I have health insurance and got to select the one I wanted. Does the author of this article vote? I hang out an American flag any time I want. I do not have time to check all the hen laying farms in Iowa, but I appreciate that there is a government agency that finally did this.

A more balanced article would be appreciated. We elect our officials who pass these laws. Vote. You are part of the problem, not the solution.

Just how out of control the laws have gottin. The stuipd laws like the setbelt law. If I want to risk my life that’s not for any dumb ass police officer or fed to decide. Also did u now u can get a d.u.I for WALKING ur bike home or ridein a horse I no a guy the got one on privet property and that’s not them controling. Our lives wake up man. And voteing don’t work it just gives congress and idea of what the poeple want and the put who the want america is a good country just bad leaders

I am so offended by our government trying to control my life particularly and my business particularly that I want to rage a national war on television about it. I started a wholesome wetsuit business for ladies, CANDY WETSUITS, that went international in 2011.

As soon as the government found out about it, they pulled me over, took my surfboards away and confescated my wetsuit samples.

They put me in jail and tried to force me to “sell my soul” or let them control my business.

The biggest dissappointment in my life to this day.
Saddened by their attack, my 25 years in the fashion industry and many years working internships and attending FIDM fashion school were shattered. The took my dreams and stomped on them.

I was in tears to say the least. What is AMERICA if the small business person and entreprenuer cannot succeed anymore?
