Hate Taxes? You Certainly Are Not Alone…

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Taxes - Public DomainAt this time of the year, millions of Americans are rushing to file their taxes at the last minute, and we are once again reminded just how nightmarish our system of taxation has become.  I studied tax law when I was in law school, and it is one of the most mind-numbing areas of study that you could possibly imagine.  At this point, the U.S. tax code is somewhere around 4 million words long, which is more than four times longer than all of William Shakespeare’s works put together.  And even if you could somehow read the entire tax code, it is constantly changing, and so those that prepare taxes for a living are constantly relearning the rules.  It has been said that Americans spend more than 6 billion hours preparing their taxes each year, and Politifact has rated this claim as true.  We have a system that is as ridiculous as it is absurd, and the truth is that we don’t even need it.  In fact, the greatest period of economic growth in all of U.S. history was when there was no income tax at all.  Why anyone would want to perpetuate this tortuous system is beyond me, and yet we keep sending politicians to Washington D.C. that just keep making this system even more complicated and even more burdensome.

If you hate taxes, you are far from alone.  According to NBC News, here are some of the things that Americans would rather do than pay taxes…

Six percent would rather sell a kidney, eight percent would rather name their first-born “Taxes,” and 11 percent would rather spend three years cleaning the bathrooms at noro-torious Chipotle.

Of course our system was never intended to be like this anyway.  Our founders hated taxes, and they fought a very bitter war to escape the yoke of oppressive taxation.  During his very first inaugural address, Thomas Jefferson clearly expressed what he thought about taxes…

A wise and frugal government… shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.

Why couldn’t we have listened to him?

When the federal income tax was originally introduced a little more than a century ago, most Americans were taxed at a rate of only 1 percent.

But of course once they get their feet in the door, the social planners always want more, and today we are being taxed into oblivion.  Below, I would like to share with you three quick facts about our taxes that come from the Tax Foundation

-This year, Tax Freedom Day falls on April 24, or 114 days into the year (excluding Leap Day).

-Americans will pay $3.3 trillion in federal taxes and $1.6 trillion in state and local taxes, for a total bill of almost $5.0 trillion, or 31 percent of the nation’s income.

-Americans will collectively spend more on taxes in 2016 than they will on food, clothing, and housing combined.

That last statistic is a huge sore point with me.

How can anyone argue that we are not a socialist society when the government takes more of our money than we spend on food, clothing and housing combined?

What they are doing to us is deeply wrong and it is fundamentally un-American.

And of course the elite have the resources to be able to hire very expensive tax attorneys that help them manipulate the game in their favor.  At the end of the day, many extremely wealthy Americans end up paying a much lower percentage of their income to the government than you or I do.

For example, just consider what the Clintons have been doing

The Clintons and their family foundation have at least five shell companies registered to the address 1209 North Orange Street in Wilmington, Delaware — which is also home to some 280,000 other companies who use the location to take advantage of the state’s low taxes, limited disclosure requirements, and other business incentives.

Two of the five are tied to Bill and Hillary Clinton specifically. One, WJC, LLC, is used by the former president to collect his consulting fees. The other, ZFS Holdings, LLC, was used by the former secretary of state to process her $5.5 million book advance from Simon & Schuster. Three additional shell companies belong to the Clinton Foundation.

One could argue that they are simply “playing the game”, but why do we have to play such a complicated game in the first place?

Another thing that frustrates me is how our tax money is being wasted.  Speaking of the Clintons, did you know that Bill Clinton still receives close to a million dollars from the federal government every year?  Since he left office in 2001, he has been given approximately 16 million of our tax dollars.

Does that seem right to you?

Of course there are other examples that should make us all sick as well.  Tens of millions of our tax dollars have been spent on Obama vacations, and Planned Parenthood received 528 million taxpayer dollars in one recent year.

Our system is deeply, deeply broken, but I am under no illusion that it will change any time soon.  It will probably just continue to roll along until it eventually collapses under its own weight.

And of course it isn’t just income taxes that I am talking about.  Our politicians have become masters at inventing ways to extract money from all of us.  If you doubt this, just look at the list that I have shared below.  It comes from my previous article entitled “A List Of 97 Taxes Americans Pay Every Year“, and it shows how the politicians are squeezing money out of us in just about every way that you can imagine…

For those that are interested, I will be at the 4th annual Pikes Peak Prophecy Summit that is being organized by Prophecy In The News from June 17th to June 19th in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Some of the speakers that will be featured include Bill Federer, Paul McGuire, Bill Salus, Doug Stauffer, Doug Woodward, Benjamin Baruch, Lyn Leahz, Anthony Patch and Joe Schimmel. It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in the world of Bible prophecy and to have a great time in the Lord.

If you think that you may like to attend, you can get information about registering right here…

    http://www.prophecyinthenews.com/conference.html

I hope to see many of you there. 🙂

    Michael

    • Jorma

I wish the late, great Jack Kinsella was still around to attend this, or Herb Peters. I live in the area and will sign up, that is, if we have a Colorado State to host this seminar. At the moment water is starting to boil here in Colorado and it appears we will be confronting some corruption in our state political infrastructure. Not sure how this one will pan out. The last time I saw so many so mad, we recalled two elected officials. And that was peaceful compared to what’s boiling around here now.

    • Mike

I wish I could go and meet you Michael. I’ve been reading your articles for about 5 years and have been attending Joe Schimmel’s church for 4 years. It will be an awesome conference. Praise the Lord!

      • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

I look forward to meeting Pastor Joe. That will be quite a privilege for me. 🙂

  • ALWAYSTOMORROW

There is actually something that I just experienced that I hate more than paying taxes. Loosing about $16,000 dollars in the bankruptcy of Northwest Territorial Mint.

Then again I seem to remember many here think bankruptcy is just fine. I don’t.

    • Letfreedomring

I’ve been in your shoes and understand where you are coming from. Most here obviously haven’t been on the other side of bankruptcy and don’t know or maybe just don’t care how it affects those who are losing their money.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

Was that trading on an exchange?
I’m sure they thank you for the beautiful golden parachute you bought them.
      Bankruptcy enriches Americans.. like Trump

      • ALWAYSTOMORROW

It was lost in a unfulfilled transaction interprreupted by bankruptcy.

If they did thank me, a card would have been nice.

        • Rorschach

“It was lost in a unfulfilled transaction interprreupted by bankruptcy.”

It was lost in a unfulfilled transaction *interrupted* by bankruptcy. Looks like the troll needs to go back to school.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            oh if it isn’t Mr.SpellingPeasant

          • Rorschach

You should have learned how to properly space by now.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            Excusez-moi, Mr.Spelling Peasant

          • Fran

Both of you are off topic. Efforts such as these are typically paid shills. Communist agendas are this type of comments, get off topic, complain off topic, and the goal is clear, insult get off topic, destroy the content. Both of you, grow up.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Rorschach started it. Don’t blame me.

          • Rorschach

Don’t try and play the blame game troll. Fran why don’t you grow up if you can’t see Sunny is a troll instead of realizing that troll’s agenda?

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

But it’s true! You started it.

    • K

A little help for next time. Watch who you do business with. Northwest has been in trouble for the last couple of years. The lawsuit they lost finished them off. If you are doing 1 ounce rounds, try to do it in counts of twenty. That should get you a mint sealed tube. Never order, what does not yet exist. What I mean by that is. If the company I do business with, does not have it in their vault I pass. Never rely on future shipments.

      • ALWAYSTOMORROW

I have ordered this amount multiple times in the past trouble free. Your advise of smaller orders is good advise which will be followed.

    • Rick

Would you have opted for a bail out? Bankruptcy for a company isn’t all bad. It allows them to reorganize under better leadership and get started on the right track once more. We’ve all lost money on stupid bets, but it’s better than having the government steal even larger amounts of money from us and calling it a bail out, and saying well they were just too big to fail… In essence, since there have always been bankruptcy laws to fall back on, they are conditioning us to the (now) fact, that some institutions and some people are just above the law (Hillary)! And of course since this conditioning has been going on for 25+ years now, we are all fine with the fact that mrs. Clinton is not in jail, and in fact would make one fine president…

      • ALWAYSTOMORROW

No. I would not want a bail out nor am I conditioned that people are above the law.

I still believe what I have always believed, bankruptcy is wrong for me to file and wrong for them too.

I am not foolish enough to think right or wrong ever comes into play on anything any more.

Oh well, as I always say, “There’s ALWAYSTOMORROW. 🙂

    • old fart

I dealt with N.T.M it took 5 months to get a Silver order, I took the hint and never dealt with them again.

  • Bill

The tax system was designed, like the banking system and the political system, to allow the rich and famous whatever they needed to stay on top of the world. I wonder how all of this occurred coincidentally about 100 years ago..

Do you suppose a hundred years from now (if we get there) history will show that the elite’s reign of terror came to an end?

    • Steeve Girard

It will never come to an end… history just alternates between Slavery society and Land Owned society. What is coming is a new cycle of Land Owned society where energy and collective work is sparse, which was the case for all Land Owned society.
      .
What we are living in is Slavery society, and they (Slavery societies) all crumbled, due to Environmental overuse, Economic mismanagement and Extreme social unrest and poverty.

  • Liberty First

Michael, I for one am certainly not arguing that we are not socialist. We are so far from Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, that words simply fail. You are 110% right. On the tax law thing, when I was in law school I knew many alleged conservatives who went into tax practice and after a while they began to argue that the present system of loopholes, etc., is absolutely necessary. Why? Because it lets them lie, cheat, and steal from their clients for work that should never have to be performed.

But at least more and more people have taken the Blue Pill and see what is going on. The worm has turned. How it turns out is hard to say.

    Great article.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

People hate taxes.. it’s a Duh..

      • Liberty First

Well, we are so taxed – thanks in part to George W. Bush’s insane spending – and of course Obama’s – that we are not paying a much larger percentage for basic necessities as a nation. That has not always been a “duh” historically.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

From the time of the Tea Party ( I mean the original one) ..It’s a Duh

  • Duh

How many people know the IRS is about a Government as the Feral Reserve. It is just the Mafia Collection agency to recover the money the Feral Reserve loaned the Government.

Think of it like, your next door neighbor is coming to you for money to repay a loan given to guy across the street, because the Guy across the road is a dead beat and won’t pay up.. In the real world is that Legal ?

And there is NO Law stating that you MUST pay personal Income tax, it’s all part of the Central Banking Fraud. And don’t think you can take them to Court to recover your money, because they exempted themselves from any and all Legal Action, in the USA. Total and absolute Immunity.

  • mtntrek3

Where does all this tax money go?? Obviously not to the intended places. Like Perot said several years ago……. We pay so much in taxes that the government should be able to buy us all a summer home in the Caribbean and a yacht in the harbor. The money is going somewhere, but where?

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

      To support your illegitimate children

      • Rorschach

Sunny you shouldn’t talk that way about all the children you have.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

I’m not, I’m talking about his.

      • mtntrek3

        Awwwww…….. that’s cute. You’re a sweetheart. However I don’t have any illegitimate children, Bub.

    • aldownunder

I am not evading tax in any way, shape or form. Now of course I am minimizing my tax and if anybody in this country doesn’t minimize their tax they want their heads read because as a government I can tell you you’re not spending it that well that we should be donating extra.Kerry Francis Bullmore Packer AC (17 December 1937 – 26 December 2005)

  • billtheguy

When your on a toll road in Ohio (route 80) why do you still pay $.28 cents a gallon taxes on fuel if you stop to get fuel? Your already paying to drive on that highway in the first place.
I have Ohio Edison as my electric company ( it doesn’t matter who you buy your electric from). Some of the charges; Distribution Related Component? Economic Development Component? Cost Recovery Charges? Now, I’m sure if you called them to have them explain they would certainly dazzle you with mumbo-jumbo. The maintenance of the grid has always been in the price per KWH that you pay. They need more, more, more to pay the shareholders.

          • Rorschach

Actually Sunny the only weapon you have is your size that requires an entire team and construction equipment to service you.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Don’t confuse my size w/my libido.

          • Rorschach

I don’t confuse them but you shouldn’t kid yourself that anyone would want to be near you. Troll harder.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Ok, you got me.. but at least I will always have you for blogside entertainment.

          • Mark

read YOUR own response to Jeffy Oak:

“A black or any other color person demanding reparations. How stupid, gtfo.”

oh, let me guess, you’ll “respond” with your typical “you said I said she said he said they said” BS

          • Malcolm Reynolds

So lemme guess, you somehow or other managed to read in there that I said blacks should ask for reparations?

          • Gay Veteran

as I predicted you “responded” with your typical “you said I said she said he said they said” BS

          • Malcolm Reynolds

As you predicted, I said X, you keep asserting I said Y, and then you claimed some imaginary victory with your lack of comprehension.
Congratulations, but you’re still a low info a ss pirate.

But hey, to add more insult to your injury, here’s your comment where the mongoloid “declares victory”

        • Mike Smithy

Judging by your avatar, I suspect that you are too young and/or too ignorant to have a job in which you actually pay income taxes. More importantly, pray tell what 50+ years of “Great Society” welfare entitlements have done for the American people other than to deprive them of their ambitions. As a result, the poverty rate is higher than ever, and you have the nerve to suggest that I don’t deserve a return on my investment.

          • alan

The advantage of being old, we can see back in the days when things were better. Now we see it has all turned to $hit.

          • Tatiana Covington

For instance, Head Start has produced exactly zero results after 50 years. The evidence is increasing, that intelligence is genetically controlled.

      Roger that! By gov’t mandate.

  • jox

“to take advantage of the state’s low taxes, limited disclosure requirements, and other business incentives”. hahaha, ‘business incentives’!

    • df NJ

Customers are the only true business incentive. And since Chinese currency manipulation has closed all our factories and wages are suppressed, businesses have no customers. It’s not that hard to understand. No factories means no workers. No workers means no customers. And with 20 years of huge labor glut wages stink. But the Chinese bankers are doing really well!! The gwai lo nation is done. It’s okay, the United States had a good run.

  • Mike Smithy

Since the Keynesian Cheerleaders continuously proclaim that expanding the money supply by printing has no effect on solvency, why do they need to tax us? If their assertion is true, why can’t they just print the money they need to fund governmental enterprise?

    • df NJ

For the same reasons why people who claim taxes are too high yet the every year the top 1% own a greater and greater percentage of the country’s wealth. So which is it, are taxes too high or are the top 1% faking it?

  • df NJ

It doesn’t matter how much you pay in taxes. What does matter is the purchasing power of your take-home pay. If you talk about taxes without talking about the cost-of-goods-and-services then you hopping on one leg and you look like an idiot.

The problems in our country are not rocket science. Lobbyists force the politicians to pass legislation creating cartels and monopolies in exchange for campaign financing. There are no free markets. All markets are controlled by politics. All essential products and services are severely over priced.

So say we got rid of the federal government and ALL federal taxes tomorrow. What do you think will happen? Do you honestly think the CEOs are not going to raise prices on goods and services to suck up any slack?

You are all a bunch of one leg hopping idiots if you think the federal government and taxes are the only part of this equation that matters! Money talks, everything you post is BS!

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.” Benito Mussolini

    • Rick

I somewhat agree with you, although I believe corporations would go through massive layoffs before raising prices dramatically. With the tax savings, and some added smart people in the unemployment mix, we should eventually be able to start new innovative businesses serving the gaps in needed products and services. Of course we would also need to get rid of 90% of the regulatory agencies that suck up much of the tax dollar (including obamacare, and it is a regulatory agency by the way), that literally prevent smart people from opening small businesses. We need to get rid of 100% of the social engineers (so most Universities), and about 90% of the social programs, and we would be in great shape. And of course we certainly could trim the pentagon budget. Hey, this is starting to sound like Ron Paul…

      • df NJ

You need massive amounts of capital to start any business nowadays. You are living in the dream land of the past. Are you going to open up a hardware store next to a Home Depot.

I think you fail to understand the nature of my OP. The idea the somehow getting rid of the federal government will somehow magically create an egalitarian society is pure fantasy.

The government regulations create the corporate monopoly. The Government and the Corporations ARE one and the same!

        • Rick

Fully understand, and that’s exactly why we chop, get rid of red tape regulatory agencies. You might be dreaming that anyone can set up shop and be the next IBM by the end of the week. We’re talking two different stories here. I’m talking about carving out small successful businesses no matter what the big guys do. Once we are on a level playing field without the rules set up in their favor, we’ll go back to Making America Great Again through small business and common sense entrepreneurs. It won’t be next week either, but eventually with Trumps help we’ll get there. But we won’t get there with defeatist attitudes now will we?

    • jaxon64

Mostly agree except for one giant oversight on your part. If we got rid of Federal taxes and the Federal Govt it would also devastate the Corporations and truly give us a free market where little guys and start ups would have a chance.
Right now, the biggest service that the Fed Govt gives to the Corporates/Monopolies is regulations that stifle small business. Without the regulations of the Fed Govt, the private sector and economy would grow exponentially. We’d actually have falling prices as small businesses, freed from fees, license requirements and regulatory taxes on everything would be free to make and sell products at reduced costs to the consumer.
But alas, the “market socialism” we live under will never allow for any power like that to return to the people.

      • jaxon64

PS: and a further aside to everyone–remember not to believe all of these so-called “quotes” that people post on line…….

Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.” — Benito Mussolini

It is generally attrributed to an article written by Mussolini in the 1932 Enciclopedia Italiana with the assistance of Giovanni Gentile, the editor.

The quote, however, does not appear in the Enciclopedia Italiana in the original Italian.

It does not appear in the official English translation of that article:

Benito Mussolini, 1935, “The Doctrine of Fascism,” Firenze: Vallecchi Editore.

And it does not appear in the longer treatment of the subject by Mussolini in:

Benito Mussolini, 1935, “Fascism: Doctrine and Institutions,” Rome: ‘Ardita’ Publishers.

Where the quote comes from remains a mystery, and while it is possible Mussolini said it someplace at some time, a number of researchers have been unable to find it after months of research.

That’s because the Italian government had it removed for political reasons.

      • Mike Smithy

        Bingo.

        • df NJ

Not bingo. The only way to get rid of the government regulations is to get rid of the monopoly corporations.

          • Mike Smithy

Oh, I see. So the monopolistic corporations will come to their senses on their own volition and eliminate themselves. You are brilliant.

    • Mike Smithy

I happen to believe that if the federal government was reduced in size and scope, it would unleash the entrepreneur spirit in America. As a result, of less draconian style regulation, barriers to entry would be reduced to the point small business people could compete with the globalists. Certainly there is a legitimate need for a federal government to fulfill the role of national defense, interstate highway system and reigning in monopolistic behaviors of globalist multinational corporations. However, it is undeniable that the Fascist/Corporatist model employed by the Demo-cans is destroying the middle class.

      • df NJ

You are missing the point of my post. What you are suggesting will NEVER happen because the monopoly corporation and the government ARE the same thing.

        • Mike Smithy

Wrong. They are separate entities engaged in a symbiotic relationship.

It doesn’t matter how much you pay in taxes. What does matter is the purchasing power of your take-home pay.

How does it NOT matter that a govt takes 30% of your money but it absolutely matters that govt policy means you have to use 30% more money for a loaf of bread?

  • When I was in school back in the 60s I was told than a loaf of bread was taxed about 137 times from the farmer to your table. It’s no wonder that 3 cents worth of seed to the farmer translates into $5.00 a loaf on our table. The Government gets most of the cost increase directly as taxes. From the person who sold the farmer the seed all the way to the grocery store that sold you the bread.

#15 on your list above? I was the Executor for my brother’s estate, who died suddenly and unexpectedly at age 62. He was a life-long bachelor. He never earned much, but he was great at living frugally, and saving and investing. When he died his estate was valued at about $900,000, and his resident state took over $125,000 in estate taxes. What a rip-off.

    • REALIST

Well, he MUST pay his “FAIR” share…..!!!!!

    • Gay Veteran

how much of that $900,000 had previously gone through the tax mill?

      • Fred Smith

He had some appreciation from profitable stock investments and from his coin collection, but about 80% of his estate, or about $720,000 of his $900,000, had been previously taxed as ordinary income; and was all after-tax dollars. So he got taxed TWICE!

You forgot the tax imposed on vaccines. (for those of you that get vaccines)

There are a lot of smart people on this blog, so someone please jump in with the details, but it’s my understanding that when the taxation amendment to the constitution was proposed, it was fraudulently passed into law in 1913 because it did not have enough states ratify it. Also very coincidently, at the end of that year Dec 1913 we unlawfully created the Federal Reserve. Hm? Also, can someone define for me what taxation without representation means? I’m certain with all of the neutering of Congress today, and them seeding their power to the president on most everything, that we’ve met the definition. So why are we still paying federal income tax?

We are NO LONGER 13 colonies with dirt roads & no taxes. Taxes for building our country are needed. What is NOT needed is all the foreign misadventues costing TRILLIONS the latest reported by the Jerusalem Post: “Lise Grande, the No. 2 UN official in Iraq, told Reuters that the United Nations is urgently seeking $400 million from Washington and its allies for a new fund to bolster reconstruction in cities like Ramadi, which suffered vast damage when US-backed Iraqi forces recaptured it in December”

There is also a new tax / fee which is on your cable / internet bill in order to provide “free internet” to people on welfare. I don’t know the exact name of it but it infuriates me. Taxpayers pay property taxes to support the local library. The library is free. Of course you have to get off your butt and go there but all of the libraries in my area have computers and Internet. So I am being charged twice: to support the library and to pay for “universal computer access” for someone to have at their home.

The purpose of the Income Tax is not raising tax for the expenses of Government. Andrew Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury (way back when) wrote a book about this and he was the 3rd richest man in America at that time (After Rockefeller and Carnegie, I believe)

The purpose of the Income Tax is 1) Intimidation and 2) Surveillance. Let me explain:

With the Income Tax system, which has it’s own court system which DOES NOT adhere to the “innocent until proven guilty” nor any of the protections of the Constitution nor Bill of Rights, the leadership can destroy anybody they want. Just like they did to the Tea Party organizations trying to get “tax exempt” status. Just like the leaders can intimidate any pro-White Church while letting the Black Churches preach politics from their pulpits.

This intimidation is used selectively to attack and crush any organization or person who goes to far as well.

As for “Surveillance”? The wealthy families of the late 1890’s and early 1910’s (Morgan, Rockefeller, Rothschild, Warburg, etc.) needed a way to know who was coming up behind them with new wealth. These families, and the other stock-holders of the Federal Reserve Corporation, needed a way to find out who was making money in new industries so they could either stop them, or invite them, into the One World Order. This INCOME TAX was the perfect way to know who was making what.

This is why the Carnegie, Astors, Vanderbilts, Fords, Dodge brothers, etc. were NOT invited into the organization since their politics or comments were not compatible. Carnegie wanted “gold bonds” in payment and Ford did 10 years of research on who ran the Banks (The banking families didn’t like that and tried to put Ford out of business…..he fought back…he won…that is another story).

The Income Tax is supposed to be confusing. That is the point. The tax is to fall on the middle class and those “rich” not invited.

IF the tax code discriminates then the law itself is basically illegal.
We have lawyers and judges out there that feel that ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Yet the staggering size of the law itself makes it logistically impossible for someone to understand it. That size makes the law impossible to NOT be ignorant of it.
Yet we have a court system that ignores that fact.
Seems like the law system itself needs to change drastically before anything can ever be done about the tax regulations and laws on the books.
As long as the law represents a kangaroo court system where the tax payer always loses then you have no law at all.
Especially if wealthy people avoid the law by hiding funds abroad.
When the people enforcing the law do so in a politically incorrect way it is only a matter of time before the agency itself will have to disband.
I refer to picking on any individual because of his political beliefs or religious beliefs by the agency involved. Again we deal with discrimination and that makes the law itself unconstitutional.
I think the path of recall and impeachment of judges that ignore and protect this agency will eventually happen.
The question is more when than if.

  • Orac4Prez

You guys have it easy! Where are the police clearances?? If you are a teacher or nurse you need to have clearances to work with vulnerable persons, children, etc. Then if you work in defence as a contractor or employee you have to pay basic clearances and secret / top secret /non vetting level 1 or 2 clearances. In Australia, the government will charge you $150 for each of the (3) nursing clearances. As teachers, police or nurses you have to pay large registration fees. The basic security clearance (even as a casual technician) is $495 plus GST (another tax) and $8000 plus GST for a secret clearance. I was offered a casual contract at defence (at Secret level) for 3months work. If I had taken it, I would have been barely making any money at all! Oh, and I should say, the nursing/teacher clearances only last one year while you have to pay security clearances every three years!!!!
Banks and Governments are always there to help…. help themselves to YOUR money that is!

What are most of the people who make up our tax code they are lawyers. Donald Trump is a businessman and he recognizes that our code is horrible. Most of the other candidates are lawyers and do you really think they are going to change the tax code for the better. No way. They along with GOPe are a bunch of scumbags. In July, Trump has got to win the nominee or this country is screwed. I hate Cruz because he is part of the elite and he is going to continue this game if he ever got into the White House. What he did in Colorado shows his true stripes and he is by every account the worse candidate to ever run for the highest office.

I think the two taxes which absolutely burn me the most (even though the cost isn’t as high as some of the others)… are the use tax in my state and the “exit fees” in the state I used to live in. Specifically:

The Use Tax in VA is being taxed for having the audacity to use something in Virginia if you didn’t buy it in Virginia.

And that “exit fee” I mention … was when leaving the state of NC, you get charged huge fees if you have the audacity to bring any of your belongings out of the state and had to hire a mover. The specifics: when I used a mover to move my stuff (modest 2 bedroom apt) from MA to CA (over 3000 miles) … it cost me about $3,500 total. Five years later when I wanted to move my stuff from NC in a much smaller place (I had sized down after being in a wildfire) to VA (distance of about 400 miles) the lowest quote I could get on moving my stuff was over $4,000. They told me if I moved the same distance within the state of NC, it would have only cost me $800 to move the same stuff the same distance. The excess charges were special fees that NC charges for moving your stuff out of the state!

The better metric to judge tax burden is…
All taxes paid, divided by Gross Income.
Ivy League Americans don’t pay income taxes and they diligently avoid sales taxes.. Their housing, life insurance, vehicles are all leased and likely expensed by the company.
This is why the US tax code is 50M pages. Paying income taxes is for losers and ‘hard workers.’ (Guffaw! Guffaw!)
Food, energy and housing expenses should ALL be exempt from taxes at EVERY LEVEL for ALL Americans.
Isn’t that what ‘equality’ is all about.
