How Much Time Do Americans Spend Plugged Into The Matrix Every Day?

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

The Matrix - Public DomainThe average American spends more than 10 hours a day using an electronic device.  And most of that activity is not even interactive.  The vast majority of the time we are just passively absorbing content that someone else has created.  This very much reminds me of the movie “the Matrix”, but with a twist.  Instead of humans being forcefully connected to “the Matrix”, we are all willingly connecting ourselves to it.  There is a giant system that defines our reality for us, and the length of time that the average American spends connected to it just continues to keep growing.  In fact, there are millions upon millions of us that simply do not “feel right” unless there is at least something on in the background.  Just think about it.  How much time do you spend each day with all electronic devices completely turned off?  Thanks to technology, we live at a time when more news, information and entertainment is at our fingertips than ever before, and we are consuming more of it than ever before.  But this also gives a tremendous amount of power to those that create all of this news, information and entertainment.  As I have written about previously, more than 90 percent of the “programming” that we absorb is created by just 6 enormously powerful media corporations.  Our conversations, attitudes, opinions and belief systems are constantly being shaped by those entities.  Unfortunately, most of us are content to just sit back and let it happen.

The following numbers regarding the media consumption habits of average Americans come directly from Nielsen’s most recent “Total Audience Report“.  The amount of time per day that Americans spend using these devices is absolutely staggering…

Watching live television: 4 hours, 32 minutes

Watching time-shifted television: 30 minutes

Listening to the radio: 2 hours, 44 minutes

Using  a smartphone: 1 hour, 33 minutes

Using Internet on a computer: 1 hour, 6 minutes

When you add it all up, the average American spends more than 10 hours a day plugged into the Matrix.

You have heard the old saying “you are what you eat”, right?

Well, the same applies to what we put into our brains.

When you put garbage in, you are going to get garbage out.

In my recent article entitled “It’s Official: Americans R Stupid“, I discussed how the U.S. population is being systematically “dumbed down” and how we are now one of the least intelligent industrialized nations on the entire planet.

A big contributor to our intellectual and social demise is the Matrix that has been constructed all around us.

Virtually every television show, movie, song, book, news broadcast and talk show is trying to shape how you view reality.  Whether you realize it or not, you are constantly being bombarded with messages about what is true and what is not, about what is right and what is wrong, and about what really matters and what is unimportant.  Even leaving something out or ignoring something completely can send an extremely powerful message.

In this day and age, it is absolutely imperative that we all learn to think for ourselves.  But instead, most people seem more than content to let the Matrix do their thinking for them.  If you listen carefully, you will notice that most of our conversations with one another are based on programming from the Matrix.  We all love to talk about the movie that we just saw, or what happened on the latest reality show, or what some famous celebrity is doing, or what we saw on the news that morning.  The things that matter to us in life are the things that the Matrix tells us should matter.

And if someone comes along with information that contradicts the Matrix, that can cause anger and confusion.

I can’t tell you how many times someone has said something like the following to me…

“If that was true I would have seen it on the news.”

To many people, the Matrix is the ultimate arbiter of truth in our society, and so anything that contradicts the Matrix cannot possibly be accurate.

Fortunately, more people than ever are waking up enough to realize that they have a choice.

It is kind of like that moment in the Matrix when Neo is being offered the red pill and the blue pill.

Admittedly, a lot of people that do begin to wake up choose to take the blue pill and go back to sleep.

But there are so many others that are grabbing the red pill.  That is why we have seen such an explosion in the popularity of the alternative media in recent years.  Millions of people all over the planet now understand that they are not getting the truth from the Matrix and they are hungry for real information.

Yes, the Internet is being used for unspeakable evil, but it can also be used for great good.  The Internet has allowed ordinary people like you and I to communicate on a mass scale like never before in history.  The Internet has allowed us to reclaim at least some of the power that we have lost to the Matrix.  I don’t know how long this period of history will last, so we should make full use out of this great tool while we still have it.

On my own website, I have felt called to mainly focus on economics in recent years.  And I will continue to chronicle economic conditions as we descend into the greatest economic crisis in U.S. history.  What is coming is going to be worse than 2008, it is going to be worse than the Great Depression, and it is ultimately going to be worse than most Americans would ever dare to imagine.

But I also want to take my readers on a journey down the rabbit hole.

Our world is about to get really, really strange, and I would like to be a light in the chaos.

Yes, I believe that great darkness is coming.  But I also believe that a great awakening is coming.

Personally, I believe that it is a great privilege to be alive at this time in human history.

It is a time of great evil, but it is also a time of great opportunity.

It is a time when everything that can be shaken will be shaken, but it will also be a time when those that stand for what is right will shine like the stars.

So what do you think about all of this?  Please feel free to add your two cents by posting a comment below…

You make many good points. I think a lot of us are searching for the truth about a lot of things, the economy and what to expect being just one of them. The internet allows us to ask any question knowing someone out there has the answer or at least a better understanding of it than we do. It’s great for us to think for ourselves, but we are limited by our life experiences, education, skill sets, etc., and it is wonderful to spend hours learning from those who really know more than we do. I admit it: I spend hours on the internet searching and researching. Time is short: we want to make the most of it!

    • Bill

You speak for a billion people who are also searching. Myself included.

    • GSOB

      The internet is awesome!

The Bible has a lot of wisdom in it as per many other religions, and whilst it is the truth (despite many problems in parts), it overlaps with many other religions which may also hold the same truth in another form. The ancient texts of the bible actually used metaphors to describe a spiritual end times war where weapons would be used against the minds of men, a form of mind control if you will. Interestingly, this is made mention of in Islam and also in the Egyptian religion which preceded them, whose texts describe technology used by the Nephilim/God and provide proof of an electromagnetic universe. The satanists worship the ‘eye of Horus’ which refers to mind control via technology from a previously advanced society. Worshipping this by the elite is essentially revering man’s ownership of another man through mental slavery, to make the first man as God = luciferianism. Of course, all this is hidden from the public, and used by the elite against them; most people have no real desire to learn truth, as opposed to fornicating and watching re-runs of Jersey Shore; or get their false news provided by Fox or any other major media outlet.

We all have something to share.

  • Mondobeyondo

Back in the 1960’s, there was a famous saying by Timothy Leary – “Turn on, tune in, drop out”. Today, many of us, especially the youth, are turning on, tuning in and staying plugged in. It is amazing how we have become so attached to our electronic devices. I wouldn’t doubt it if there would be severe physical reactions if some peoples’ smartphones were taken away from them. (tongue in cheek… slightly)

    • Bill

Sensible use is the key. Consider a hammer. They have been used to commit murder. They have also been used to build millions of houses. Sure hope hammers won’t be banned for being used as a weapon.

  • guest

I truly believe that the vast majority of all that information goes in one ear and out the other. About 15 years ago I tried a little experiment. We used to have a TV at work in the cafeteria. I worked in a large Midwestern city and I would note the name of a shooting victim from the local news. I would wait a week then say something to a coworker who sat there with me and watched the same news story about the victim. Something like ” I wonder how John Doe is doing”. The inevitable answer would be ” who’s John Doe? “. ” He’s the guy who got shot on Elm St. last week “. ” Oh, did you know him?”
” No we saw the story on the news here in the cafeteria”.
    ” We did”?
Not one person in ten times remembered. I realized a long time ago that TV was a useless, passive, medium suitable only for entertainment in the here and now at the most simple level and it’s even doubtful that is rises above mindlessness for that. I want to try another experiment. I want to show video of both Ali/Sphinx fights from 1978 to 10 people under 25 years old. Then I want to ask them who won which fight. I bet 50% would be wrong.

    • Mad

Its not the facts that are remembered its the feeding of the “fear”.

I have never owned any kind of mobile device. Many will find that hard to believe, but it’s true. I have a desktop computer at home with internet access. I go online in the morning before I leave for work and when I get home from work. I work full-time, and I don’t have internet access at my job. I occasionally watch the local news on television, mainly for the weather forecast, but I never watch the national news. I read several alternative news sites on the internet. (My favorite is The Economic Collapse Blog.) However, there are some alternative news sites that I stay away from because they’re just a different form of disinformation, in my opinion.

    • I’ve been lost twice in the wilderness. The first time I was about 9 & wondered away from camp. Now I bring 2 GPSs if I go somewhere unfimiliar. Also I learned from some friends is you toss your extra water & spare key in separate spots & mark it with the GPSs. People who go backpacking sometimes have to do this because water is heavy.
A phone is also good in case something bad happens.

I do agree people need to disconnect more often.

    • jared thompson

This site is also disinfo at times, as agent provocateurs are sometimes present (rarely compared to other sites), they remove postings and IMHO the author is a bit biased towards a certain country and a certain group of people who are owning the west and yet destroying it.

      • MEP325

Are you referring to a country that starts with an I and a group that starts with a J?

        • Tatiana Covington

And they sort of rhyme with T and that stands for Trouble!

      • Michael Dubin

I enjoy this blog, but the one thing I can’t stand is the pro-Israel bias. Can any of you american “christians” explain your love affair with Israel?

        • At least Jews aren’t the ones beheading & burning people in cages, pushing people off roofs, forcing everyone to stay 100% covered, not let women drive, constant suicide bombing, etc. etc. There probably is a bias but everyone is biased.

          • rentslave

They’re still raising rents in a no inflation era.

          • Airedale

            No Inflation Era… LOL

          • GSOB

            Well, they did murder Jesus.
            Acts 5:30

          • Gay Veteran

beheading vs. bombs, they both kill

          • You should like Jews more than their surrounding neighbors. Jews treat gays far better than Muslims. I prefer Jews over Arabs because i’m a nu_ist (not sure if that word is blacklisted). I don’t want to be covered up like an astronaut.

          • Gay Veteran

not going to side with one side just because they treat one group better than the other side

        • Simon

I will outline the love affair with Israel, though I am Australian. Jesus is the King of the Jews who will rule the nations from Jerusalem. He authored a book about what would happen to Israel before and after he returns. We stand with Israel because Jesus chose them – we do not condone everything that Jews or Israel do, as with any other people or nation – but we acknowledge God’s promise to bless those who bless Israel and to curse those who curse Israel. (for example, dividing the land – bad idea says God in Joel 3:2). We do also acknowledge that Satan has a bent towards the destruction of the Jews and of Israel and so we point this out to people that they might know that Jesus still loves them, even though for the time being many of them are cut off from him through unbelief. I recommend the book of Romans – particularly chapters 9-11 – for highlighting Jesus’ plan to restore the Jews to himself through the witness and faithfulness of the Gentiles, seeing as how we Gentiles benefitted greatly from the faithfulness of Israelites through the ages. We love what God loves and Israel makes the list boldly. Hope that helps.

          • Airedale

            Perfectly expressed!!!

          • GSOB

            Perhaps, but is it true?

          • GSOB

Hello and are you a Christian?

          • GSOB

Your theology is skewed to the physical Jews and your bias towards them is not
healthy, much less Biblically sound. Satan has done a very subtle, crafty yet clever work in sowing the seeds of division among the brethren. He is the ultimate terrorist.
“I will outline the love affair with Israel, though I am Australian.”

Question: Hello again and may I ask, are you a Christian?

“Jesus is the King of the Jews who will rule the nations from Jerusalem.”

Partial truth. Jesus is Lord of all and rules now by His Spirit.

“He authored a book about what would happen to Israel before and after he returns.”

Jesus did not author any books. He was a carpenter, not an author.

“We stand with Israel because Jesus chose them”

Questions: Who is ‘we’ and why do you say that Jesus chose them (Israel)?

” – we do not condone everything that Jews or Israel do, as with any other people or nation – but we acknowledge God’s promise to bless those who bless Israel and to curse those who curse Israel.”

To bless does not equal soul salvation and it is precisely here I think you have been misled.

“(for example, dividing the land – bad idea says God in Joel 3:2)”.
“We do also acknowledge that Satan has a bent towards the destruction of the Jews and of Israel”

Two part question: Who do you mean by ‘Jews’ and who do you mean by ‘Israel’?

“and so we point this out to people that they might know that Jesus still loves them, even though for the time being many of them are cut off from him through unbelief.”

Question: Why is this so important in light of and compared to the great commission?

“I recommend the book of Romans – particularly chapters 9-11 – for highlighting Jesus’ plan to restore the Jews to himself through the witness and faithfulness of the Gentiles, seeing as how we Gentiles benefitted greatly from the faithfulness of
            Israelites through the ages.”

They were cut off because of not having faith. They became enemies of the faith.

“We love what God loves and Israel makes the list boldly. Hope that helps.”

Again, I asked you, are you a Christian?

          • TK

            Excellent Reply +100….
So many so called churches teach falsely that jews are God’s people.
We are the children of Abraham!!!

          • GSOB

“Many who ascribe to Messianic Judaism today, teach, either by implication or openly, that special privileges go with being a natural Jew, that Christianity is Jewish, and that any return to primitive Christianity must include a return to our Jewish roots. Although this may sound logical to some, it represents the same danger to the church today as it did in the Apostle Paul’s day.”

          • Guest

Why don’t you give the source of your quote? I know you didn’t come up with that.

          • GSOB

Just copy my quoted content and past it into your search browser and walla!

        • Thomas D Guastavino

Maybe not love but what is it that you have against Israel?

        • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

First, explain your problem with Israel. And by the way: “christians”(?) What do you mean by that?

      • Guest

I disagree that this site promulgates disinformation. Can you give an example?

  • Bill

The debt that has been created is overwhelming. That is the killer of life as we know it no matter what the Matrix does to paint it different. We are still doomed and nothing will stop the suffering until enough pain finally demands the truth. When we realize that real work (labor) is the true source of capital, and not credit or government handouts, then we will be on our way to recovery.

    • jared thompson

I think the realisation is there – its just that the thug mafia of banksters has enforced their will globally, against many peoples’ consent. Obviously, it doesn’t end well for the people, though I would have to argue that the bankers and shills will get sent down too.

    • Drud

There was an episode of MASH where someone says “War is Hell,” and Hawkeye takes exception. He says “War is War and Hell is Hell and of the two War is worse.” The reason being is that there are no innocent bystanders in hell. I have a similar response when I hear the expression “Time is money.” Time is Time and Money is Money and of the two Time is far, far more valuable. Time and energy are by far the two most valuable commodities in real terms. Money is nothing but an arbitrary receipt for spent time and energy (labor). This is the lesson our society MUST learn. I believe that we will, but only after tremendous pain–namely war and death on an immense scale.

  • Rufus T Firefly

So is it a “Brave New World” or “1984”? Or both?

    • jared thompson

We lived in a Brave New World with the good times and rampant promiscuity, and now we enter the 1984 on steroids stage. Or the latter half of the tribulation which has already begun.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

Use all electronics as tools. For some folks electronic devices are used to replace their reality, their social health, their intimate relationships, their therapist; don’t bother.

  • Liberty First

The saga continues. Expecting that we will be able to move to New Zealand as permanent residents and will know within a week. No country is perfect but it is exceptionally miserable watching one’s own commit suicide. Praying hard. But we will make do if we must remain here. There remain millions of great people who will be the light that Michael references.

    • jared thompson

Same banksters own New Zealand, which would not be as ‘protected’ without them, owing to their small population. Australia is also bankster owned. NZ may be better off for now, but I still rate Europe as the last place for Caucasians, despite their problems. I say this as a nonwhite person; I think NZ will be overcome by economic collapse despite their local resources and are very vulnerable. Also, from a Christian standpoint, they have also fallen far from God with rampant promiscuity et al, with only a very small minority deviating from this schema in their society.

  • SunnyFlaSnotress

Reminds me of the joke “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.. but who is paying the bill?”
I live in the 2nd largest apartment complex in the USA (4 pools etc) I bought an electric scooter marketed primarily to kids and it’s a great way to get out there and interact. Fast enough to be lively, yet slow & small enough to go on the sidewalks and not be offensive.
I tend to spend a lot of time on the internet and that pretty much replaced tv, radio, etc for me, but I do a lot of interacting on the internet and the internet has helped me avoid surgery when my doctor gave me no other options.

    • Ah, I knew of another version “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel… yes, that’s the train coming toward us!” 🙂

  • FortuneSeek3rz

I believe that on day within the next 200 hundred years, humanity will make a great leap forward and people will be able to live most of their lives out in a virtual reality simulator if they choose. It will be a lot like the move, The Matrix, as far as the neural link to a cyber world where the environment, and how you feel, will be manipulated. I think they will be able to eliminate all of the negative feelings you feel when you get the flu, for instance, while you’re plugged in. In fact, I believe the virtual world will eventually one day be preferable in almost every way by virtue of the fact it can interface and control the areas of your brain that are responsible for negative thoughts and feelings.

Many people think we will colonize other areas of the universe in the distant future and that will be a major turning point for humanity. I believe the major turning point will be VR simulators.

    • jared thompson

I believe that too, for God will be with us. But between here and then, is a problem of the decades of suffering that is already here for many!

    • Drud

Reminds me of the Kurt Vonnegut short story “Unready to Wear” where people become “amphibious” meaning they can separate their souls or spirits from their bodies at will. As incorporeal souls people get along splendidly, because they are free of all the limitations, pains, desires, needs and discomforts of their “meat.” Not one of Vonnegut’s best, but still a very good story from a true master.

  • jared thompson

Who owns the information posted? There was already removal of sites and even comments in the previous years, but this year the FCC has made sure that ‘internet regulation’ has taken over, having Congress vote for it sat month. It seems that as well, globally, information is to be restricted, ‘for our protection’? Doesn’t that sound just a little bit totalitarian to you?

Obviously the rich and their brethren don’t want people communicating as they strip away further rights, do further abuses, and especially before the grand finale of pulling the plug, leaving the masses with no way to communicate and hence vulnerable to being blind cattle at the hands of the elite and their physical branch of enforcers; military and law enforcement.

We all needed God, and if we don’t find him soon we’re all going to suffer.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

Take some classes and learn how to make electronics and computer programs work for you!

Learn programming languages, networking, IT, security, proxys – venture out there! It’s not a scary place; the deep web, yes; the surface web, not bad.

How about this: go online and look up plans for a RFID detector. Make this your first electronics project. And some places have an RFID detector/zapper. I built one and it works.

    • jakartaman

Pist such as this indicate that most still do not get what Michael is telling you. EMP’s Nukes, disease, water/food shortages etc etc – Do you really think the internet and smart phones will be around – I certainly do not.

  • Alwaystomorrow

This site reminds me very much of the church where my parents raised me. There were a lot of well meaning people who shared a lot of truths.

The problem that I saw was all the information needed was covered in 6 months. After that the keep repeating the same thing over and over month after year and obcessing over it.

A very good thing drove me and many others away because of repeating the same thing over and over again.

Things are bad and eventually will end. Now that we know and believe this go enjoy your spring and summer with your families, live, stop reading and reconvene in the fall.

    • VigilanteCaregiver

If we stray into better or deviant thoughts and such, then the trolls get their gas-lighting crazy on and feed off the narcissistic supply.

Here watch, I’ll get them going: Christ is real and loves us; the Jews are not at fault for any of this, and homosexual marriages are wrong and greenlighted legitimizing pedophilia back on October 2013; there is proof to all these claims.

    • K

Interesting, you feel you learned everything in Church, you could ever learn. You feel you have learned everything here, you could ever learn. Most of us, do not feel that way. There is always more to learn, or better understand. But even if there was not. The desire to help others understand, is a worthy pursuit. As far as obsessing, I do not see many doing that. What I see, is people trying to understand the full truth, of what is coming. And then desiring to take reasonable steps, to take care of their families. I do not find coming here interferes with my enjoyment of life. If coming here interferes with your enjoyment of life. By all means, go enjoy yourself. Perhaps we will see you, in the fall. .

      • Gypsom

I agree with Jodie. Even the alternative media is full of their own hype and fear mongering but in a different way.

As for church how many sermons on repentance and sin and you are going to burn in hell can one person take? Either you are going to do right or you are going to do wrong.

The choice is yours. Going to church every sunday will not change the behavior of most. Plus church is repetitive with the sermons being stock and standard for different times of the year.

Even religion is part of our matrix system. It is ingrained in us from early childhood that someone is always watching and knows what you are doing.

The larger a population gets the more stressed and inconsiderate people become as a whole.

      • Black

What they teach at the catholic church down the street is: Do what we say or you’ll burn in hell for all eternity! There, saved somebody a least a few wasted Sundays

        • Mike

If people don’t think that they are sinners then they will never repent and accept the payment for their sins that Jesus provided for us on the cross. Ignorance is not bliss.

          • kline

That does not make any sense. We are what god supposedly made us and yet we are supposed to feel guilty for it?

          • Guest

Amen! It’s probably the biggest cult in the world.

          • jiu

All churches are a cult. If you question the church doctrine, etc you are not welcome.

If you learned anything at this church, you’d have learned the importance of gathering amongst the brethren and learning the word, neither of which you have done.

      • guest

From my experience and it pains me to say this, There’s not a whole lot of preaching the Word, or learning the Word going on in a good number of America’s ‘churches’ these days.
The Catholic church is the mother of harlots. Her (protestant) daughters aren’t any better.
They have become social justice, feel good, Israel haters, lovers of perversions.
Not a lot of Salvation going on inside these whitewashed tombs.

I’m plugged into the Internet, on average, 3 hours a day solid. With all the crap going on in the world, I wish to be informed. Drudge Report, Breitbart News, CSN News etc., I dont depend on Cable News, local news channels or the majority of the people I work with to inform me otherwise.

We know that we are being lied to. That is why and how we don’t have carbon taxes as of yet as Europe does. There are too may of us that know it to be a hoax.

        • mee

So knowing something and it still happening is akin to not knowing and it still happening. Our knowledge changes nothing. Things only change when the people with power (not us) decide to change something. Kind of like throwing us a bone. It is all bs.

mee, so you are an American’t having a pity party. Knowledge is power BUT you have to ACT of it. I believe many readers are actually taking action, not just whining. Man up!

  • jakartaman

    Michael you are right
Once the dust settles what will the world emerge as?
What system of economy, Governance, religion/faith etc
I sadly believe there will be a lot less humans on the planet
That the economic and governance will be local and faith will re-imerge as an important part of life.

Any person that has been the subject of a news article either in a newspaper or any other form of information gathering will tell you that it is not accurate and it is sensationalized to the point where it seldom represents the truth.
In a news article the reporter is obligated to pyramid the information so that the article is capable of being cut for space. With all that in mind, most of what is displayed is at best a half-truth represented.
The further away from the news services are articles that are barely 25% true such as the articles in grocery magazines.
This false information is what people all over the world are exposed to constantly.
Every police show out there is about people doing wrong. I suggest that these shows are training people. The red box videos at your local grocery are a good example.
How many show adventures with people doing things that could put you in jail? It is fantasy. But out of fantasy comes eventually people following suggestions of behavior.
Come war, and those remaining are all ready half way there. They will readily pick up weapons given to them and murder other people.
These six corporations that own the media are planning on that happening. So when the decisions are made by people forced into the military, those people are all ready mentally brain washed to do what those above them want them to do.
‘What happens afterwards is that reality haunts them. Often these people are not capable of returning to a peaceful job with a house and family. Only those that have taken up religion and worship God have any hope of returning to sanity. Notice I did not mention any particular type of church or denomination. The key is prayer. The key is Christian forgiveness. The key is being forgiven and being able to forgive your own life errors. Because that has been known to haunt people for years afterwards.
There is many a veteran that has gone through hell on this Earth defending his country. When that man or woman comes home, they are suffering and often are in a form of shock.
The most powerful demons on Earth are mental demons programmed into people by the media.
I never was there. I served 4 years in the USAF but I was lucky. I never went to places like South Vietnam. I never saw combat.
But I have many friends who also were in the military during wartime, and the look in their eyes makes it obvious that a huge conflict of interest haunts them. They have been in the situation of kill or be killed.
It effects everyone involved with them to some point.
The wife of such military personnel have to adjust to a changed individual. That goes back many years.
Often they drown in drugs and alcohol. Anything to take away the ghosts that haunt them.
Look at the media games. Things that addict people. Things where they make killing people normal. All of this, is deliberate.
Better than 95% of the games out there promote violence or destruction of one kind or another.
Better than 95% of the movies out there glorify illegal activities.
This has been going on for a very long time.
The only difference is with the internet, sometimes the truth creeps out. And that is what the powers that be want to change.

Republicans have had a thirty year run convincing stupid poor people
looking to get rich, and morons terrified of other Americans taking
their “stuff,” that giving up everything they have to the wealthy will
magically transform a dirt-poor imbecile into a billionaire, save
Americans’ liberty in the process, and teach the government who’s boss.

    • Guest

I hope Ted Cruz becomes the next president. Then you’ll really be ticked off!

      • 2Gary2

There will never be another republican president. Ever. Demographics are way against republicans. Bush was thankfully the last one.

        • Guest

We shall see! Either way, your dream of taxing the rich and spreading the wealth will NEVER happen. So you can forget about it.

          • 2Gary2

FDR did just that so history shows it is not impossible. Hopefully a real progressive like Bernie Sanders or Liz Warren will be president.

I would encourage you to read the book called the Fourth Turning. This will help you see that yes the rich will be taxed and the wealth be much more evenly spread. Its inevitable.

            Michael-What do you think?

        • GSOB

          Never say never

      • GSOB

He will not abolish the IRS or ACA in it’s totality.
There will still be handouts galore of the welfare state.
A total reformation is what’s required and that, I’m afraid, won’t happen as easy as it seems.
Do not set your hopes on these battle cry planks.
Mr.Cruz is appealing to Christians and conservatives alike but, building his base, but the majority of those who vote are liberals. Mr. Cruz will not have the numbers, though his popularity may increase, the nomination is a long way and others are yet to join the race.

  • The Economic Collapse website is censoring comments.

    • Guest

Certain words will send a comment into moderation.

      • Moderation is just a euphemism for censorship. What are they afraid of? The truth?
The above initial comment exposing their censorship was censored (deleted).
Question: How can you claimed to be for truth and liberty and also practice censorship?
Answer: Be a hypocrite and a fraud.

“The vast majority of the time we are just passively absorbing content that someone else has created.”

Does that mean we shouldn’t read your blog anymore?

    • GSOB

      ‘passively absorbing’
He means you should discern what it is you are filling your mind up with.

You are talking about main stream media. There is a lot of media out there on the web that is absolutely phenonomal in what it has to offer. Not all of us are dumb-downed citizens of the US but many crave to learn about new things not just the same old same old. Some of us find some pretty incredible stuff on the web which has enriched out lives and it was free for the taking. The web is what you make it like anything else in life. The time spent is the time you have to spare. Many are unemployed so it is an opportunity to learn about new things. Of course, we should all strive for balance in our lives as well. Too much of anything will not be to ones advantage.

They only control what you think if you let them. What bugs me is an ONLINE article about how much time we spend ONLINE!

Perhaps age has something to do with this. Walter Cronkite, Chet and Dave, Murrow, and a few others on 3 networks formed the national opinion. Cronkite turned a massive defeat of the Vietcong in ’68 into a massive defeat for the US military. One man, one opinion but he owned the pulpit. Now we can access many pulpits here and abroad or we can generate our own. How good is that?

Sorry, we have access to more information than ever in history. If you don’t care to play in the sand box, then don’t.

  • CynicalGuy42

“If that was true I would have seen it on the news.”
The news can’t cover everything, and they do have a bias.

  • GetReal4U2

Awesome article! It is a very exciting time for sure!

  • Robert Newton

A few years ago I saw a poster which said “Everything you need to know about life you can learn from Star Trek.” I have found this to be true. I recommend you watch a ST: Next Generation episode titled “The Game” (S05e06). Gene Rodenberry saw this coming a mile down the pike.
    Then switch off your TV.

Most people don’t realize that the movie ‘The Matrix’ isn’t a work of fiction, but is a modern day visual aid parable … The Matrix is the collective conditioned/brainwashed mind/mentality of mainstream society !

I admit I’m on the net for 10hours a day. But while I am on I check out the real news. Instead of sticking my head in the sand and doing useless things, I am educating my self on current events and how they affect me. Being on line learning about the corruption in government, and what the future may bring because of it, makes me one of the most feared by the banksters and elite … a well informed public.
