Instead Of Black Friday Materialism, Thanksgiving Weekend Should Be A Time To Live, Laugh And Love

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

thanksgiving-dinner-public-domainOn Friday, hordes of desperate zombies were spotted desperately trying to save a few dollars on toys, apparel and cheaply made electronic goods all over America.  Seemingly oblivious to the fact that virtually all of these goods were made outside of the United States in nations where it is legal to pay slave labor wages, these zombies often clashed violently with one another over items such as soap, toilet paper and jumbo-sized televisions.  Black Friday puts the worst excesses of American materialism on display for the whole world to see, but most Americans don’t seem to care how pathetic we appear to be to the rest of the planet.  The only thing that most Americans know is that it is “the holiday season”, and so now it is time to spend, spend, spend even if it means going into crippling amounts of credit card debt.

Overall, it is being projected that Americans will spend an all-time record high of 650 billion dollars this holiday season.  That is an amount of money roughly equivalent to the yearly GDP of the nation of Saudi Arabia.

But it would be one thing if we did all of this spending with some class.  But instead, many Americans braved freezing cold temperatures and stood in very long lines on Thanksgiving evening so that they could have the opportunity to fight over “great deals” such as $1.60 towels

In video apparently recorded inside a Walmart in Bainbridge, Georgia, showed shoppers fighting over towels that were on sale for $1.60 during the Black Friday rush on Thursday.

At one point, one woman so eager to get her hands on a towels that she fell into the box.

Meanwhile, shoppers at a Walmart in Houston broke into an all-out melee on Black Friday, as customers battled it out for some $99 kiddie convertibles.

We have become a nation that is entirely consumed by greed.  The average American has the television on approximately five hours a day, and that means that we are being endlessly exposed to commercials that are telling us to buy stuff.  Sadly, all of this “programming” does cause many Americans to actually behave like zombies as filmmaker Mark Dice has so brilliantly illustrated

And unfortunately, the violence on Black Friday is often not limited to the ridiculous brawls over Chinese-made electronic goods.  In fact, according to WND four people were shot around the country during the Black Friday “festivities”…

One shooting happened on Thanksgiving Day in a Walmart parking lot in Nevada, apparently as a result of a dispute over a parking spot.

In New Jersey early Friday, two people were shot, one fatally, in a parking lot outside a Macy’s store at the Hamilton Mall, the New York Post said.

Also early Friday, in Tennessee, a man was hit and injured when shots were fired at Wolfchase Galleria Mall in Memphis.

Personally, I don’t understand why people would want to deal with all of this mayhem just to save a few bucks on mass-produced trinkets that they and their families probably don’t even need.

Fortunately, a lot of people are starting to reject Black Friday altogether.  For example, one group is now promoting the day after Thanksgiving as “Buy Nothing Day”

International “Buy Nothing Day” falls on the day after American Thanksgiving each year. Celebrated since the 1990s, the day is meant to inspire worldwide action against mass consumerism, according to Adbusters, a not-for-profit anti-consumerism magazine.

“Buy Nothing Day isn’t just about changing your habits for one day it is about rediscovering what it means to live freely,” according to Adbusters. “Join millions of us in over 60 countries on November 25, 2016, for Buy Nothing Day and see what it feels like to take a stand against corporate domination.”

And I am a big proponent of buying nothing on the day after Thanksgiving as well, but for different reasons.

Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays that virtually everyone can agree on, and it is one of the only times of the year when families all over the country gather together.

Ultimately, the experience of spending time with family and friends is far more valuable than any “deals” you may be able to pick up at the stores.  If I was going to be the next president, I would strongly consider making the entire four-day period over the long Thanksgiving weekend a national holiday.  But the only way that I would do that is if I could pass a law that the stores must shut down as well.

Because the truth is that the vast majority of us do not need any more stuff, but without a doubt we could all definitely use some more love in our lives.

It has been said that “he who dies with the most stuff wins”, but that is a total lie.

Some of the most miserable people in the world are also some of the most wealthy.  And there are lots of people out there that “make a lot of money” that are some of the coldest, cruelest people that you would ever want to come across.

Success in life is not measured by how much money you make.

Rather, it is measured by how much love you give.

And the more love you spread to those around you, the more likely it is that you will be loved in return.

Sadly, in our day and age love has become heavily linked with sex.  But having a sexual relationship with someone does not mean that you are loved.  Just ask any prostitute.

Others feel like they aren’t loved because they are not in a romantic relationship at the moment.  But that is not what love is all about either.  In fact, some of the loneliest individuals on this holiday are people that are actually married.

And even if you don’t have any family at all this holiday, that doesn’t mean that you have to miss out.  Some people have deeper and more meaningful relationships with close friends than they ever had with their family.  And even though I am very thankful for my family, I have friendships that I have cultivated over the past couple of years that I consider to be on the same level because I love those individuals so dearly.

Look, you can run out and buy stuff at Wal-Mart any time.

But how many times a year do you get to spend concentrated time with those that you love in a quiet, peaceful environment?

The long Thanksgiving weekend should be a time to live, to laugh and to love.

Unfortunately, many Americans have become completely blinded by greed and they have forgotten what really matters…

Here in Houston’s George R. Brown convention center, 25,000 free meals were given out on Thanksgiving. The Director of the program said the past 5 years, so many people have come for the free meal because either they have no job or they now live homeless. She said it disturbed her to see so many former middle class people struggling to feed themselves. This recession has never ended. It only continues to grow worse with each passing year.

    • SnodtBlossom

Real estate prices here are galloping up the hill. People are buying.

      • socalbeachdude

False. Tampa is plunging in sales just like the Miami area and sales of residential real estate around the country are down around 2%.

        • Liberty First

Had some property in Tallahassee that we sold for 15% more last May than it is appraised right now online. Florida real estate is definitely not booming and may be in decline.

        • SnodtBlossom

the chart prices keep going up

      • Mark

You are either economically illiterate or just another progressive Marxist lying about your failed Obozo economy. You are pathetic. Average household incomes have declined by thousands under this president.

        • DPatel

“You are pathetic. Average household incomes have declined by thousands under this president.”

          No need to lie Mark…

          Real Median Household Income:
          2008: $55,376
          2015: $56,516
          Increase under Obama: +$1,140 (+2.1%)

          Real Average Household Income
          2008: $75,325
          2015: $79,263
          Increase under Obama: +$3,938 (+5.2%)

You must have been confusing Obama with Bush as under Bush’s 8 years, real median household income declined by -$2,414 and real average household income declined by -$3,309.

          • Mark

Hey Towel Head or should I say Marxist Loser,

You are wrong and need to analyze the data instead of going
on google and typing in raw data to fit our agenda.

In a span of 14 years Median household income
has fallen from $57,724 to $53,657 when ADJUSTED TO INFLATION. There is a $1,700 decline under Obama which is nothing to brag about. 2 Million more Latinos in poverty under Obama
while 14 million more on welfare. 8 Million more in poverty.
Again you spew your Marxist bias for your loser President OBOZO. Are you going to crying sessions for loser Hillary supporters????

          • DPatel

“In a span of 14 years Median household income
has fallen from $57,724 to $53,657 when ADJUSTED TO INFLATION”

Let’s see, Obama has only been President since January 2009. So let’s recap:

            2000: $57,790
            2008: $55,376
**Real Median Income (ADJUSTED TO INFLATION) DECREASED by $2,414 (-4.2%) under BUSH

            2008: $55,376
            2015: $56,516
**Real Median Income (ADJUSTED TO INFLATION) INCREASED by $1,140 (+2.1%) under OBAMA

            “Hey Towel Head ”

By the way, it’s weird that you would call a white person a towel head. Pretty hilarious.

          • Mark

Your figures are wrong and again you are not dissecting the numbers. Fact are facts and under this president household income has declined adding inflation. 14 million more on welfare while 2 million more latinos in poverty. You lie and may need to attend more crying sessions for Hillary voters.

          • DPatel

Nope, the data I’ve provided is 100% FACTUAL.

Also, you do realize that REAL median household income is inflation adjusted? How stupid are you?

LIE: “2 million more latinos in poverty”

            Latinos in Poverty:
            2008: 10,987,000
            2015: 12,133,000
            Increase under Obama: +1,146,000

            Much less than increases under:
            Reagan: +1,866,000
            HW Bush: +2,235,000
            W Bush: +3,240,000

Source: US Census Bureau, Table 2. Poverty Status of People by Family Relationship, Race, and Hispanic Origin: 1959 to 2015

          • Mark

You get facts from the Census B. Oh how funny and you do know that the CB since 1990 has not been very accurate due to the inefficient sampling and getting an accurate count on people in poverty. The US office of Personsl Mgt. for instance estimated the poverty rate to be 15% higher for 3 consecutive years from 2010 to 2012. Also during Obozo’s reign Medicaid has gone up 25% with a 44% increase in food stamps while welfare reached $1 trillion. Fed Res. Data shows the middle class earning less and actual net worth less. 60% black youth unemployed. Blacks in poverty went from 25% to estimated 27% in 20-5. Real medium income for blacks in 2009 $35,934 to $35,398 in 2009.

Quit being a Hillary cry baby and saying Lie Lie. You are the little deranged L i b t a r d with a red dot in the middle of your head crying about a lot of BS.

Oh the reason I call you towel head is with a name like Patel ummmm that sounds Indian to me. I believe the towel and red dot suits you well you little s h I t.

          • DPatel

“with a 44% increase in food stamps ”

            Food Stamp Recipients:
            January 2001: 17,298,136
            January 2009: 31,983,716
            August 2016: 43,625,286

            Bush: +85%
            Obama: +36%

            LOL!!!!!

          • Mark

Lie: Your comparing Bush again. The issue is not Bush you dope. Under Obama more are on food stamps which shows he did nothing just like he did nothing for the Americsn people.

          • DPatel

            “Lie: Your comparing Bush again”

Once again, I did not lie. If you are going to claim that I lied, you better show clearly what was the lie.

Now, food stamps increased every year from 2001-2012 and have since DECREASED for four straight years. The fact that Obama joins Reagan and Clinton as the only administrations to decrease food stamp recipients over an entire term shows that his policies have helped the American people.

          • Mark

You are so full of s h ! T. Nothing to prove accept Obozo is a Marxist fraud that did nothing. Poverty and welfare increased under this fraud and all you can do is compare Bush which some stats I explained in earlier comments does show 13.2 for Bush and 14.8 for Obozo.

          • Mark

You know why you cannot reason or analyze information….I laugh at how you throw a b u l s h ! t stat from the gov’t and claim it’s all Obozo. How about congress??? Do they get credit. Hummmm??? According to you things were much worse under Bush but we had a Democratic congress In the later years of Bush’s time in office. Under Obozo we had a Republican congress. I would assume you agree that Republicans get credit for this so called recovery??? As a leftist Indian Marxist and Democratic paid troll does the Democratic Party pay you to spew propaganda on blog sites? Funny…In a true free market system a President never really has much influence on the economy except with taxes and regulation policy. The only influence is to let the free market alone. Presidents do more harm by over taxing and regulating. It’s the free market and hard working Americans that make the economy and opportunity. As a hard leftist you despise this and truly think Obama is a genius when in reality he knows nothing about domestic or global Econ. Being that you are an Indian and probably not a born US citizen who does not understand what America is and what it stands for because of being a leftist and a foreigner. You hate the ideology of a republic based on democracy.

          • DPatel

“Also during Obozo’s reign Medicaid has gone up 25%”

This is hilarious as under Bush’s reign, Medicaid spending increased by 94%. Under Obama, Medicaid was expanded under the ACA and was offset by higher taxes on those making over $250,000.

          • Mark

Ya and Obama Care took 700 billion from Medicare advantage and stole from seniors that paid into it for years. Your such a dot head.

          • DPatel

LIE: “Ya and Obama Care took 700 billion from Medicare advantage and stole from seniors that paid into it for years”

Seniors on Medicare actually received MORE BENEFITS due to Obamacare. ie: Prescription drug doughnut hole was closed. Sorry that you are upset that Obamacare made Medicare more efficient and used those savings to provide even more benefits to seniors.

          • Mark

It did and Obama care is not more efficient. It’s a disaster. Costing insurers 1000s more per year. Your dillusional.

          • DPatel

Actually it made Medicare more efficient while extending the life of Medicare by nearly a decade. You lied about that and I cleared up the facts for you. Over 80% of working age people get their health insurance through their employer and not through Obamacare.

          • Mark

Lie: Obama care has created fewer choices while average cost has increased 43% to 53%. It has forced healthy people to pay more for the sick ones or the ones to pay more. As a result, insurance is based on risk pools. Many of the insurance programs can’t cover the expenses and end up losing money. Also it forces healthy people to rake benefits they do not need. Young and healthy individuals only need catastrophic.

          • DPatel

            LIE: “60% black youth unemployed”

            Black Teen Unemployment:
            January 2009: 35.3%
            October 2016: 27.6%

            What causes you to LIE?!?

LIE: “Blacks in poverty went from 25% to estimated 27% in 20-5.”

            Black Poverty Rate:
            2008: 24.7%
            2015: 24.1%

            What causes you to LIE?!?

          • Mark

            Not a lie Dot Head,

You keep comparing Bush when Obama was supposed to have all the answers to our problems like Obama Care which was a total disaster. Under Obama poverty for blacks never improved. Fact.

          • DPatel

“Under Obama poverty for blacks never improved. Fact.”

            Poverty Rate Blacks:
            2008: 24.7%
            2015: 24.1%

That’s a 0.6% IMPROVEMENT under Obama. This is just getting sad.

            You must be thinking of:
W Bush: Black poverty rate INCREASED by 2.2%
HW Bush: Black poverty rate INCREASED by 2.1%

          • Mark

            Hey red dot head,

Facts are facts and what you are writing is propaganda. All this back and forth is nonsense because you cannot accept the fact Obama has DONE NOTHING TO IMPROVE AMERICA FROM ALL ASPECTS. You give stats but do not understand what they mean if disecting them.

During 2010 to 2015 the percent of poverty was consistently 15% under Obama which has only happened three other times since 1981. Lowest rate of poverty was 11.7 to 13.2% under Bush. In 2014 the level was at 14.8%. Not much change. This means that the rate of poverty for every year Obama has been president is higher than it was for every year during Bush.

Also, the percent of people below 125% of the official poverty rate has also been higher every year under Obama and has been over 19% which is worse than Bush.

Most disturbing is the fact the percent of the population living in extreme poverty which is having income at 50% or lower than the poverty line was 6%.

During The beginning of Reagans term the poverty level was at 15.2% but by 1988 decreased to 13%.
Under your president Obozo the rate of poverty has been more than 14.3 and by 20/4 was still at 14.8% which is 2% higher than Reagan.

You always compare Bush because he is an easy target for left wing loons such as yourself. You pick and choose a stat that supports your agenda without looking at the whole picture.

          • DPatel

“Lowest rate of poverty was 11.7 to 13.2% under Bush”

LOL – Bush inherited 11.3% and left behind 13.2%. That’s not exactly something to brag about.

          • Mark

Facts are facts towel head. You Indian boys are wimps and dealt with your kind to many times.

          • DPatel

Yeah, facts are facts – poverty increased big time under Bush LOL

          • Mark

Poverty increased under Obozo too. Again this is not about Bush. You and you left wing goons always go back to Bush because of Obozo failures. Actually it was worse under Obozo. I just showed the percentages above on a recent statement. I think that Indisn towel is wrapped around your head to tight

          • DPatel

            “Poverty increased under Obozo too”

Poverty has increased by +0.3% through Obama’s 7th year in office.
Poverty increased by +0.4% through Reagan’s 7th year in office.
Poverty increased by +1.2% through Bush’s 7th year in office.

            Your hypocrisy is just HILARIOUS!!!

          • DPatel

LIE: “Facts are facts and what you are writing is propaganda.”

When you lied about the black poverty rate, that was propaganda. I provided the facts that black poverty is lower today than when Obama took office.

          • Mark

            Lie.. my facts are correct.

          • DPatel

Nope, black poverty has dropped from 24.7% to 24.1% under Obama.

          • Mark

Facts are facts and it has not. You are a propagandist. The numbers I presented were fact. Obozo ha fine nothing.

          • DPatel

Nope – you lied – black poverty has decreased under Obama – the facts are facts and 24.1% in 2015 is LESS THAN 24.7% in 2008.

          • DPatel

“During The beginning of Reagans term the poverty level was at 15.2% but by 1988 decreased to 13%. ”

Reagan had a NEARLY IDENTICAL poverty rate trajectory as Obama.

            Reagan (% Increase/Decrease compared to 1980):
            1988: 13.0% (0.0%)
            1987: 13.4% (+0.4%)
            1986: 13.6% (+0.6%)
            1985: 14.0% (+1.0%)
            1984: 14.4% (+1.4%)

            1982: 15.0% (+2.0%)
            1981: 14.0% (+1.0%)
            1980: 13.0%

            Obama (% Increase/Decrease compared to 2008):
            2015: 13.5% (+0.3%)
            2014: 14.8% (+1.6%)
            2013: 14.8% (+1.6%)
            2012: 15.0% (+1.8%)
            2011: 15.0% (+1.8%)
            2010: 15.1% (+1.9%)
            2009: 14.3% (+1.1%)
            2008: 13.2%

          • Mark

Wrong. Those are frabricated and made up. You lie and propagandasize like Obama and the Government. My facts are correct towel head.

          • DPatel

“Under your president Obozo the rate of poverty has been more than 14.3 and by 20/4 was still at 14.8% which is 2% higher than Reagan.”

Old data. Poverty rate has dropped to 13.5% in 2015. In Obama’s 7th year, poverty is +0.3% higher than what he inherited. In Reagan’s 7th year, poverty was +0.4% higher than what he inherited.

          • Mark

            Lie My stats are correct

          • DPatel

The stats you provided are outdated. You only provided data through 2014. Sucks for you that the poverty rate dropped to 13.5% in 2015. Why are you calling facts – lies?

          • DPatel

“Most disturbing is the fact the percent of the population living in extreme poverty which is having income at 50% or lower than the poverty line was 6%.”

            Increase in Extreme Poverty:
            Obama: +2,369,000
            W Bush: +4,483,000 (MOST DISTURBING)
            Reagan: +2,872,000 (MORE DISTURBING)

          • Mark

Lie: my stats are correct towel head.

Oh get rid of the cheap suit picture. Indians like yourself only wear robes and have red dots between your eyes.

          • DPatel

It’s hilarious that you keep calling me Indian when I’m white LOL

          • DPatel

“You get facts from the Census B. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! You are such an idiot. The US Census Bureau and US Office of Personal Management have the SAME EXACT POVERTY RATE DATA.

            2010: 15.1%
            2011: 15.0%
            2012: 15.0%

            2015: 13.5%

No they do not A-Wipe. It’s how the data is collected. No more said and as it stands Obama based on the data did nothing. L I b t a r d s as yourself will cry and cry but no avail.

          • DPatel

LIE: “No they do not A-Wipe. It’s how the data is collected.”

FACTS: Poverty data from US Census Bureau and from the US Office of Personal Management are exactly the same.

          • Mark

            Nope

          • DPatel

Yep! Hence the US Census Bureau reported 15%+ poverty in 2010-2012. LOL!!!!

LIE: “Fact are facts and under this president household income has declined adding inflation.”

            2015: $56,516
            INCREASE under Obama: +$1,140

LIE: “2 Million more Latinos in poverty under Obama”

            Hispanic Poverty Increase/Decrease:

            W Bush: +3,240,000

            HW Bush: +2,235,000
            Reagan: +1,866,000

Say what you want about Obama, but he still has a better track record than Reagan, HW Bush and W Bush.

LIE: “8 Million more in poverty.”
            Obama: +3,294,000
            W Bush: +8,248,000
            Clinton: -6,433,000
            HW Bush: +6,269,000
            Reagan: +2,473,000
            Carter: +4,297,000

Reports as to Thanksgiving “Black Friday” sales are WILDLY CONFLICTING as to whether sales are up or down. Daily Mail is reporting a 13% surge in sales and stating that internet sales are way up while stores are mobbed with people buying goods, whereas Yahoo News is reporting that sales are at best even and generally thought to be down.

    Which is correct?

I suspect that the notion of a 3-4% increase in retail sales is just another propaganda fueled narrative spread by the MSM. These same MSM psychopaths wanted you to believe that Hillary Clinton was leading in the polls by 5-10%. For several years now, the MSM parasites have looked you straight in the eye and told you that the unemployment rate is under 5%.

Black Friday hijacked by protesters: Demonstrators use biggest shopping day of the year to march against everything ranging from police brutality to retail workers’ rights to Donald Trump

As shoppers were busy making purchases on one of the most crucial shopping days of the year, hundreds of people took to the streets in cities across the country on Friday to protest various issues, including police mistreatment of minorities and retail workers to the fur trade industry.

In Illinois, activists have called for a shopping boycott in Chicago’s downtown on Black Friday as around 250 people gathered in the Magnificent Mile shopping district to demand an elected civilian police review board.

They have pressed for an elected Civilian Police Accountability Council since a video was released last year showing a white police officer fatally shooting black teen Laquan McDonald.

In New York, protesters were stopped outside major retailers located on Seventh Avenue including Lord & Taylor, Urban Outfitters and J.C. Penney in a bid to bring attention to the mistreatment of retail workers. Members of Caring Activists Against Fur were outside a Macy’s during in New York on Friday as they held signs and protested the fur trade industry. Amid the protests, at least four people have been shot in the US, two of them killed, as people clashed across the country over bargain items on a record-breaking Black Friday.

        Living in the Spirit

You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you.

And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet the Spirit gives you life because of righteousness.

And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who dwells within you.…

        &
I in them and You in Me–that they may be perfectly united, so that the world may know that You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me.

        &
I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit brings a new and Divine life to the soul, though in a feeble state. And the sons of God have the Spirit to work in them the disposition of children; they have not the spirit of bondage, which the Old Testament church was under, through the darkness of that dispensation. The Spirit of adoption was not then plentifully poured out.

Black Friday Merchants See Americans Exhaling After Election

Now that Election Tuesday is over, retailers are counting on Americans turning their attention to Black Friday.

    The
National Retail Federation projects that about 137.4 million consumers
will make purchases in stores or online over the four-day weekend that
starts on Thanksgiving, marking the kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
The amount Americans have spent has declined in the last three years,
slipping 26 percent from 2013 to an average of $299.60 per person last
year, according to the trade group.

I live in Vegas. I work in a non-shopping area near the strip at a bar. Sales were up 100% for the same day last year. Sales were up last year, year over year, 60%.
Lots of tourist’s and locals alike.
I think the Baby Boomers were the last generation where a majority still cared about family values, and spending time with loved ones through the holidays.
I can also tell you, regardless of what the MSM tells you, 80% of patrons are paying with a credit card. There is no system for me to decipher what is debit, and what is truly credit, but one thing still remains; Big business wins every time.
If you pay with a card, the following happens:
    1. Big banks and credit companies take a fee from the business in the form of merchant fee’s. This can be anywhere from a percentage of the purchase, down to $0.05 per swipe. Depending on how big the business is. The little business’s always lose more.
    2. When you tip on a card purchase, that tip is taxed automatically because there is a paper trail. Your favorite server or bartender at your local corner restaurant or pub, gets less because of it. If you give $10, they get $8. This tax is directly taken out of their pay check. Some food and beverage employee’s actually end up with a $0.00 paycheck. Always tip in cash.
    3. Banks and credit card companies make even more money, because you are most likely not going to pay off your entire credit card the next month. Interest rates are a killer, and by the time you pay off that $50 steak dinner, you’ve now paid $150 for it. Think about this the next time you cry and moan about Elites, Lobbyists, or Big Business being involved in politics. All that unneeded crap you bought during black Friday (or any day of the year) on credit, makes them possible.

Live within your means. Return to Family values and a conservative life style. And for God’s sake, get out of debt and stop being a slave to our corrupt system.

    • ALWAYSTOMORROW

I purchase everything on a credit card no matter how small. Pay bills etc.

I pay it off in full every month and have never paid one cent in interest.

I also receive a 1% rebate on all purchases.

If everyone practiced that, credit card companies would cease to exist along with many other problems.

    Thank you, Michael and Meranda!

Without you two we would not have such a wonderful, christian based website to vent and discuss the many different topics and ideas of the times. I for one, just wanted you two to know I appreciate you, and wish you the most blessings possible during this time of celebration of Thanksgiving and the Birthday of our Saviour.

Although it is not the actual date of his birth into the world, Dec. 25th, it is just about the exact time he became a live soul with growing body parts, and approximately nine months later, came into a wicked world, naked, kicking, and screaming. Just like all those that live and walk and talk today did when their mother had enough compassion, to carry each and every one of us to term. Millions…not so lucky.

but this is a time of thankfulness, and not dwelling on the pain and suffering in the world, as it is covered in darkness. This Holiday Season, we should celebrate all good things, and for the moment we should celebrate the fact that the wicked witch of the new world order, has had her wings clipped for the time being. Thank God, for a new topic and a new picture, as the last one was sending me into depression whenever i logged on and had to see the face of the wicked hildebeast, once again.
Two years running is long enough to stare into the eyes of evil, on the web and TV.

So, I will just leave this commentary in a good tone today; with a prayer for Thanksgiving, that was sent to me by a dear, dear friend. It is one that everyone should pray, if they are appreciative of what their Father and Saviour, has done for them.

    A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Thank you, God, for the uncertainties we’ve experienced. They have deepened our trust in You.
Thank You, Lord, for the times You came through for us when we didn’t even know we needed a rescue.
Thank You, Lord, for the losses we have experienced. They have been a reminder that You are our greatest gain.
Thank You, God, for the tears we have shed. They have kept our hearts soft and moldable.
Thank You, God, for the times we haven’t been able to control our circumstances. They have reminded us that You are sovereign and on the throne.
Thank You, God, for Your ability to take what we consider ‘tragedy’ and turn it into a treasure.
Thank You, God, that we have an inheritance in the heavenly places…something that this world can never steal from us and we could never selfishly squander.
Thank You, God, for the greatest gift You could ever give us: forgiveness through Your perfect Son’s death on the cross on our behalf.
Thank you, God, for the righteousness You credited toward us, through the death and resurrection of Jesus. It’s a righteousness we could never attain to, on our own.
And thank You not only for our eternal salvation, but for the salvation You afford us every day of our lives as You save us from ourselves, our foolishness, our own limited insights, and our frailties in light of Your power and strength.
Thank You, God, for all that You have allowed and not allowed in our lives this past year. For we commit our lives anew to You this day and ask that You would continue to remind us, throughout this next year, that You are God, You are on the throne, and You are eternally good.
Thank You, finally, that we can pray in the name of Jesus, who made our access to You—and a personal relationship with You—possible. Amen.

Good article Michael. Very good as a matter of fact.

  • I have another comparison as well.

Black Friday 1983 vs. NOW – “People” vs. Animals

Watch black friday madness today vs. the civil people we were back in 1983. It is our sad state of reality. Prepare yourselves…

Yes….. society is decaying. It’s obvious to those that are paying attention. God’s Word speaks to this. Take care. Faith in God first. Chris.

Shopping on pagan holidays (false holy days) is the same as celebrating them. That makes you an idol worshiper.

“Don’t you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people (greedy for the good things of this life), drunkards, abusers, (slanderers especially of other Christians) and swindlers – none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God.” (1Corinthians 6:9-10 NLT/NIV)

I was well aware of what you were referencing. A “jab in the ribs” for Mike as well.

If only we were so serious and dedicated to serving God as ones are to standing/camping outside stores for hours on end for a few sales on certain items…….. . If only.

Our PTO purchased undergarments, jackets, and socks for foster children who attend our school. I suppose we should have stayed at home to satisfy our moral betters and refused to selfishly try to stretch our finite funds further. Who cares if children do not have what they need? Our virtue signaling betters have indicated that the only ‘proper’ way to behave is in praise of a dead bird and football.

Recent information and news is that large amounts of people were out on Black Friday but here is the catch….They did not spend a large amount of money or buy that much. We have been hearing this for the past 5 years. The media propagandists exaggerates how Black Friday is wonderful and then sales take a nose dive between now and Christmas Day. Also let’s take into account total retail sales for the year which has not been good either for the past 5 years. Now I know some will say online sales are hurting brick and mortar but those sales are not making up the difference and are only taking what little business was at those stores. Get used to this because I think 2017 is going to be a disturbing and freighting year economically.

    Who are you referring to?

  • JC Teecher

Michael says……”Ultimately, the experience of spending time with family and friends is far more valuable than any “deals” you may be able to pick up at the stores. ……………….
Because the truth is that the vast majority of us do not need any more stuff, but without a doubt we could all definitely use some more love in our lives.”

I agree, and if anyone could have been at our Thanksgiving Day gathering, they would have seen all those attending, (family); talking about themselves and their “stuff”, and not once mentioning God, Jesus, or Thanksgiving prayer. Not even stopping long enough to say Grace before eating.

They sure did take time to discuss the new cars and a motorcycle they purchased over the past year. Yes, they all work, and deserve to spend their $$ as they choose, but to not acknowledge where their wealth and blessings come from, is akin to idol worship.

Just the mention, (by me), of the Lord and salvation, and the room would clear out like someone just discovered a dog turd in the turkey stuffing.
And no, I did not harp or preach, but just in casual conversation to see the reactions. Yep, still playing the part of the “rope bearer”, but out of love and compassion.

The day is forthcoming, when all those $40k toys and show of extravagance will mean nothing; but, the words written in the Book of Life……well, it will mean everything.

” Yes, they all work, and deserve to spend their $$ as they choose, but
to not acknowledge where their wealth and blessings come from, is akin
      to idol worship.”

Guarantee you if they did not have jobs and were working they would not have money for the stuff they buy and NO your god would NOT provide any of it to them. So to thank god is just ridiculous. They should thanks themselves. Salvation is like that pristine property sold in the swamp lands of florida. It does not exist. It is a salve for the masses to make them feel better about the misery of this place on earth.

“International” Buy Nothing Day? Lolz. What a joke. The reason why the rest of the world does not have Black Friday is because (it’s simple) there are no such thing as Black Friday around the world! Duh! Also Thanksgiving in other countries are totally different from the United States, so there is no reason put the rest of the world on the same page with the US.

“Success in life is not measured by how much money you make.

Rather, it is measured by how much love you give.”

Tell that to the alternative news medias, especially the conservative news medias like Michelle Malkin for example. She believes that greed motivates capitalism. What a b.s. Tell that to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Anne Coulter, etc. They are gonna laugh at your face and scoffs you and label you as a “liberal”

Many long yeas ago I was stranded for a short while without a car. I walked through a mall a found a trove of books on sale. One particularly peaked my interest. It was called Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong by James W. Loewen. It should be required reading. Our history has been sanitized to such an extent it is a fairy tale. Truths are painful experiences. That’s why Christ said the truth would set us free. For as long as we accept the fairy tale, we are slaves to the master of lies and deceits Satan.

I agree with the assertion that holidays are commercialized. I refuse to participate in the shopping jihad. I buy nothing on these days. I am grateful for what I have as outdated as it may be. However, the truth about Thanksgiving is duly recorded in the book. A pdf version is on line. The pilgrims were thankful because the Indians died and they inherited their lot. So in a way rampant consumerism may be more appropriate. The images of the noble Indian seated at the table with the settlers is a fallacy. There are recorded letters that the Indians were actually murdered by the application of smallpox laden blankets upon the unsuspecting. The plague was overwhelming. Letters from the period are available. The attitudes of the settlers clear.

Colonel Henry Bouquet responded to a letter about the smallpox blankets on July 13, 1763 from Lord Jeffrey Amherst, commander of British forces in North America during the French and Indian War (1756-’63).

P.S. I will try to inocculate the Indians by means of Blankets that may fall in their hands, taking care however not to get the disease myself. As it is pity to oppose good men against them, I wish we could make use of the Spaniard’s Method, and hunt them with English Dogs. Supported by Rangers, and some Light Horse, who would I think effectively extirpate or remove that Vermine.

On July 16 Amherst replied, also in a postscript:

P.S. You will Do well to try to Innoculate the Indians by means of Blanketts, as well as to try Every other method that can serve to Extirpate this Execrable Race. I should be very glad your Scheme for Hunting them Down by Dogs could take Effect, but England is at too great a Distance to think of that at present.

On July 26 Bouquet wrote back:

I received yesterday your Excellency’s letters of 16th with their Inclosures. The signal for Indian Messengers, and all your directions will be observed.

As in any war the history is written by the victor. It is seldom the truth. If you wish to be free from the bonds of slavery, seek it out. It may be painful, but not as painful as a death on the cross. Our ideas of the world are an illusion part in fact because of the lies our teachers told us. We live at the cusp of the latest lies because teachers are after all agents of the state. They seek to remove any vestige of Christ from the classroom and public buildings in general. They prevent the use of the Bible in lessons, and they deny the existence of God. There has been a pattern of deceit through the ages until our minds are cleansed of truth and are unable even to attempt to search for it. We turn on Orwell’s telescreen and Big Brother will tell us what we need to know with the requisite two minutes of hate expanded to 24/7.

We still acquire wealth and power through deceit and exploitation of the ‘heathen’ locally and in far off lands usually based upon a deceitful circumstance. We accuse the victims of tyranny or possession of WMD and take licence to steal their wealth and murder the people. It is the heart of manifest destiny. Then we wonder about the effects of judgement due upon the land. For as we have sown so should we reap. Of course there is an easy way out. We can learn the truth, ask God for forgiveness, and change our ways. For some it would be easier to culminate in an apocalypse and let God do it for us. I’m thankful to see the error of our ways and desire a better path to restore us to the garden God gave us. Peace and comfort and harmony is contained therein. All we have to do is put the apple back in the tree. I understand that has the debt money system. God gave us everything for free. Somehow we started exploiting it for money. Some lands are already feeling the effects of fees for water. All lands are about to feel the charge for air. Hold onto to your cap. You’re about to trade, but then we’d have to expose another major lie as well. Many of our teachers espouse it.

    • JC Teecher

I enjoyed your commentary, and I myself have made a quest for truth in all areas of my life and am more free because of it.

However; the big lie to begin with is about the apple of which you mentioned. There was no apple spoken of in the scenario whereby Adam and Eve committed sins in the Garden, and also lied about it.

The real truth is too hard to swallow by establishment so-called bible scholars and teachers, so they continue to hold on to a lie that was created by ignorant “man”.

The tree of knowledge of good and evil, was none other than Satan in His role as a (morphed possibly) flying serpent/dragon, and he is the “fruit” Adam and Eve partake of. One “taking of fruit” / sexual act, with the dragon/Satan, we can absolutely know of as 100% truth, because she bare Cain as a result.

The other act, by Adam, is implied, and with 100% surety, we cannot claim; but , if it did happen, and I believe it did, it was a homosexual act of which caused God to ban the both of them from the Garden.

99.9999% of people will not see, nor understand the full truth of the matter, and cling on to the apple lie.
When the Lord returns, and the blinders removed, they will see the full truth as I have just explained.

It is biblical, but it takes eyes to see and read through with understanding, and ears to ear, through the Holy Spirit.

      • saul

Your god has allowed satan full reign. So it is his fault for it all. Why would you let something supposedly evil continue to live? There is sin in heaven. There will never be an end to mans suffering here on earth. I think god enjoys the suffering. He loved the smell of burning animal flesh used as sacrifice in the OT so why not the smell of human suffering too.
