Obamacare: The Final Nail In The Coffin For The Middle Class

CoffinIf there were any shreds of hope left that the stunning decline of the middle class could be turned around, Obamacare has absolutely destroyed them.  Over the past decade or so, the middle class in the United States has been absolutely eviscerated.  The number of working age Americans without a job has increased by 27 million since the year 2000, median household income in the U.S. has fallen for five years in a row, and the poverty numbers in this country are spiraling out of control.  And now here comes Obamacare.  As you will see below, Obamacare is causing millions of Americans to lose their current health insurance policies, it is causing health insurance premiums to explode to absolutely ridiculous levels, and it is systematically killing jobs even though the employer mandate has been delayed for a while.  All of this is creating a tremendous amount of stress for millions of middle class families that are already stretched extremely thin financially.  According to CNN, a survey that was conducted earlier this year found that 76 percent of all Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.  Most of those families simply cannot afford to pay much higher health insurance premiums for new policies that also come with much larger deductibles and significantly increased out-of-pocket costs.  Millions of those families will ultimately end up choosing to do without health insurance altogether, and that will create a whole host of new problems.  This is a disaster that is so enormous that it is really hard to put into words.  If the U.S. health care system was a separate country, it would be the 6th largest economy on the entire globe all by itself.  And now Obamacare is going to bring the entire U.S. health care system to its knees.

Obamacare: Since October 1st, The Number Of Americans With Health Insurance Has Fallen By Nearly 4 Million

Last week, Barack Obama decided to allow Americans to keep their current health insurance plans for one more year.

Isn't that generous of him?  Especially considering the fact that he promised us over and over that if we liked our current health insurance policies that we would be able to keep them permanently.

The funny thing is that Obama is not actually changing the law.  So if your health insurance company allows you to stay on your current health insurance plan that does not meet the requirements of Obamacare, it is technically breaking the law.

And if you continue to stay on that current health insurance plan that does not meet the requirements of Obamacare, you are technically breaking the law.

It is just that Obama has promised not to enforce what the law says for one year.

For a president to just blatantly disregard the rule of law is a very dangerous precedent.  Do we really want the president to have the power to decide what laws are going to be enforced and what laws are not going to be enforced?

That sounds dangerously close to a dictatorship to me.

And in any event, there are many Americans that are not going to be able to keep their current policies no matter what Obama says.  For example, just two hours after Obama announced his plan last week, the state of Washington announced that they would not be allowing insurance companies to extend their old health insurance plans if they don't comply with Obamacare under any circumstances...

State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler has rejected President Obama’s proposal to allow insurance companies to extend health insurance policies for people who have received notices that their policies will be cancelled at the end of the year.

Within two hours of President Obama’s news conference announcing the proposed administrative fix for Americans upset by their policy cancellations, Kreidler issued a statement rejecting the proposal.

“I understand that many people are upset by the notices they have recently received from their health plans and they may not need the new benefits [in the Affordable Care Act] today,” he said. “But I have serious concerns about how President Obama’s proposal would be implemented and more significantly, its potential impact on the overall stability of our health insurance market.”

“I do not believe his proposal is a good deal for the state of Washington,” Kreidler’s statement continued. “We will not be allowing insurance companies to extend their policies.”

How do you think the people of the state of Washington will respond to that?

Things are getting crazy out there, and the number of people that are losing their health insurance policies is absolutely stunning.

According to the Wall Street Journal, so far 106,185 Americans have enrolled in Obamacare since October 1st.  Most of those that have successfully enrolled have done so through the state insurance exchanges.  So far, only 26,794 Americans have signed up for health insurance using the federally run exchanges on HealthCare.gov.

Meanwhile, during that same time frame, 4.02 million Americans have had their health insurance policies cancelled.

So that means that the number of Americans with health insurance has actually decreased by 3,918,205 since October 1st.

Wasn't Obamacare supposed to result in more Americans being covered?

And according to U.S. Senator Rand Paul, Obama not only knew that this would happen, he actually wrote the regulation that caused this to happen...

"I’m still learning about it. It’s 20,000 pages of regulations. The Bill was 2,000 pages and I didn’t realize this until this week, the whole idea of you losing or getting your insurance cancelled wasn’t in the original Obamacare. It was a regulation WRITTEN BY PRESIDENT OBAMA, three months later. So we had a vote, this is before I got up there. The Republicans had a vote to try to cancel that regulation so you COULDN’T BE CANCELLED, to grandfather everybody in. You know what the vote was? Straight party line. EVERY DEMOCRAT VOTED TO KEEP THE RULE THAT CANCELS YOUR INSURANCE."

So now millions of Americans, including women battling cancer, are losing health insurance plans that they were depending upon.

Thanks Obama?

Obamacare: Skyrocketing Health Insurance Premiums

How much more are you willing to pay for health insurance than you are paying right now?

10 percent?

20 percent?

30 percent?

Well, according to one study health insurance premiums for men are going to go up by an average of 99 percent under Obamacare and health insurance premiums for women are going to go up by an average of 62 percent under Obamacare.

And of course some groups are going to see increases that are much larger than that.  For example, it is being projected that health insurance premiums for healthy 30-year-old men will rise by an average of 260 percent.

Ouch.

And there are some families out there that have already been hit with health insurance premium increases that are absolutely jaw-dropping.  In a previous article, I included the example of one family down in Texas that has been hit with a 539% rate increase...

Obamacare is named the "Affordable Care Act," after all, and the President promised the rates would be "as low as a phone bill." But I just received a confirmed letter from a friend in Texas showing a 539% rate increase on an existing policy that's been in good standing for years.

As the letter reveals (see below), the cost for this couple's policy under Humana is increasing from $212.10 per month to $1,356.60 per month. This is for a couple in good health whose combined income is less than $70K -- a middle-class family, in other words.

Obamacare: Enormous Deductibles And Huge Out-Of-Pocket Expenses For All

It isn't just health insurance premiums that are going up either.  Deductibles are going up too.  In fact, just check out what one survey of Americans living in seven different states recently discovered...

Expenses for some policies can reach $6,350 for a single person and $12,700 per family, the most allowed by the health-care law, according to a survey by HealthPocket Inc. of seven states, including California and Ohio. That’s 26 percent higher than the average deductible in the seven states, and a scenario likely repeated across the country, said Kev Coleman, head of research and data at Sunnyvale, California-based HealthPocket.

That same article has a great quote from an elderly New Jersey resident.  82-year-old Larry Saphire thinks that if you have to pay a $5,000 deductible up front, "you might as well not have any insurance at all"...

“If you have to pay $5,000 upfront” when illness hits, “you might as well not have any insurance at all,” said Larry Saphire, 82, of West Orange, New Jersey, who shopped for coverage for his wife and two children, ages 16 and 21. “That’s not insurance.”

On California’s state-run exchange site, the standard low-premium “bronze” plan carries a $5,000 deductible per person, a $60 co-pay to see a doctor and a 30 percent fee, known as coinsurance, on hospital care. In Rhode Island, Blue Cross Blue Shield’s bronze plan has a $5,800 deductible while Missouri’s U.S.-run exchange offers plans by Anthem Blue Cross with the maximum-allowable $6,350 in out-of-pocket costs.

Obamacare: The Quality Of Care Is Going To Go Into The Toilet

A lot of Americans that are signing up for Obamacare are going to be in for a huge shock.  Many of the best hospitals and many of the best doctors are not covered by their plans...

Meanwhile, sometime between March and June, the other shoe drops: People who bought exchange policies realize that the restricted networks insurers created to keep the premium costs low cut out the best hospitals and doctors. A newly insured child with cancer cannot get into a top pediatric hospital because her insurance has zero coverage for out-of-network emergency care. Tearful Mom goes on the evening news and says that she thought when they went on Obamacare, that meant they were safe, and why can’t I take my baby to Philadelphia Children’s Hospital, Mr. President?

Can you imagine being a parent in that situation?

In response, some hospitals are already filing suit over this.  For instance, check out what is happening over in Seattle...

Seattle Children’s Hospital filed suit against Washington State’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner this week, after Obamacare implementation caused the hospital to be cut from four of the six insurance plans offered by the new Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

And even if you are on Medicare that does not mean that the quality of your care is going to stay the same either.  As Reuters just reported, UnitedHealth is dumping "thousands of doctors" from their Medicare Advantage plans for the elderly because of Obamacare...

UnitedHealth Group dropped thousands of doctors from its networks in recent weeks, leaving many elderly patients unsure whether they need to switch plans to continue seeing their doctors, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The insurer said in October that underfunding of Medicare Advantage plans for the elderly could not be fully offset by the company's other healthcare business. The company also reported spending more healthcare premiums on medical claims in the third quarter, due mainly to government cuts to payments for Medicare Advantage services.

In the United States, we already pay much more for health care than everyone else in the world, and we typically have to wait longer to see a doctor than most of the rest of the industrialized world does.

Now Obamacare is going to make all of this even worse, and the quality of the care that we receive is going to go downhill fast.

Obamacare: The Jobs Killer

A while back, Obama unilaterally made the decision to delay the implementation of the employer mandate until 2015.

That was probably a good political decision, because it would have been a huge political issue in the 2014 elections.

But the truth is that we won't have to wait until 2015 for Obamacare to start killing jobs.  In fact, according to CNBC it is already happening...

Approximately one-third of business decision-makers at companies with between 40 and 500 employees, say the health-care law has already increased their costs due to hikes in both the cost of insurance and compliance, according to a recent report from political-research firm Public Opinion Strategies. As a result, many business leaders say they are already making personnel decisions based on the Affordable Care Act.

Among franchised businesses, 27 percent report their company has replaced full-time workers with part-time workers and 31 percent have reduced worker hours. Among non-franchised businesses, 12 percent are replacing full-time workers with part-time workers or reducing hours. This is happening now, with more than a year before the mandate goes into effect; and undoubtedly, these numbers will rise as we approach next July's "look back" period for tabulating workers' hours.

It is kind of startling that we are already seeing employers make such big changes even though the employer mandate does not come into effect until 2015.  You can find a very long list of some of the employers that have already either eliminated jobs or cut hours because of Obamacare right here.

Remember, this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Once we get closer to the deadline things are going to get much, much worse.

At a time when the middle class desperately needs jobs, Obamacare is going to slaughter them.

And even if you are able to keep your current job, that does not mean that your health plan will remain the same.  In fact, Forbes is projecting that a staggering 51 percent of all employment-based health insurance plans will be canceled and replaced with new ones.

Overall, Forbes is projecting that an astounding 93 million Americans will eventually lose their current health insurance policies due to Obamacare.

Obamacare: Providing Huge Incentives For Many Americans To Work Less And Make Less Money

Did you know that Obamacare is going to cause millions of Americans to want to keep their incomes under certain levels?

If you make too much money under Obamacare, you will miss out on some absolutely massive health care subsidies.  The following is an excerpt from one of my previous articles...

-----

The figures that you are about to see were calculated using the Kaiser Family Foundation subsidy calculator.  These numbers apply to a husband and a wife that are both 62 years old.

A non-smoking, married couple living in San Francisco, California earning $63,000 a year will have to pay $20,318 a year for a silver plan under Obamacare and $12,647 a year for a bronze plan.

At $63,000, that couple would be making too much money to be eligible for a subsidy, so that couple will have to pay the total cost of whatever plan they choose by themselves.

But if that couple only made $62,000 a year, things would dramatically change.

The plans would still cost the same, but the couple would now be eligible for an Obamacare subsidy of $14,428.

So a silver plan would end up costing them only $5,890, and they would ultimately pay nothing for a bronze plan.

In other words, by reducing their income by $1,000, that couple would save $14,428 if they got a silver plan or they would save $12,647 if they got a bronze plan.

Isn’t that bizarre?

-----

In the end, millions upon millions of middle class families will decide to go without health insurance entirely for one reason or another.

This will work great until they get into an accident or become seriously ill.

As I have discussed previously, approximately 60 percent of all personal bankruptcies in the United States are related to medical bills.  And most of those bankruptcies actually happen to people that are supposedly "covered" by health insurance.

Obamacare is going to make all of this so much worse.  Millions of middle class families will end up with no health insurance at all, and because so many of them are living paycheck to paycheck a single health emergency will be enough to send them hurtling down the path to financial oblivion.

If you get into an accident, a visit to the emergency room and a single night in the hospital can easily cost tens of thousands of dollars in many areas of the country.

If you get a serious illness such as cancer, the medical bills can be absolutely astronomical.  For instance, there are many cancer patients that rack up medical bills well in excess of a million dollars by the time that they die.

Something desperately needs to be done about our horrible health care system.  Unfortunately, Obamacare is going to make just about everything that is bad about our current system much, much worse.

And the American people are becoming increasingly disgusted and frustrated with Obamacare.  According to Real Clear Politics, an average of recent opinion polls shows that the American people are opposed to Obamacare by an average margin of 14.2 percentage points.

So what do you think about Obamacare?

Please share this article with as many people as you possibly can. I spent hours putting this article of more than 2600 words together, and I have tried to put so many of the reasons why Obamacare is such a disaster into a single place.

Let’s try to get this in front of as many eyeballs as possible. This is why I always allow other websites to post my articles. The more places this article gets posted and shared, the most people that will see it and the more good that it will do.

Never doubt your efforts are appreciated. While I may read other blogs, I only comment on this one. Why? Because I find useful information here, and hope sometimes to provide useful information in return.

      • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

Thank you K – that is very nice of you to say those things.

      Hey Michael,
I generally share your blog with everyone I know. I even post it on facebook lol but never get any “likes”.

But if I post “Hey, my dog farted” or Heres a pic of miley virus, then it’s a million and one hits…

And its the same with other important news…

Seesh, it’s hard to get people to wake up to this…

      • Tom

Michael , keep up the great work! I share your articles every day both in e-mails and on FaceBook. I have had a few people tell me they read them but they don’t “like” or “share” things. They agree with the premise, but for some reason they are reluctant to pass things on

      • Jodi

Yep, I’ve had the same trouble on FB. Most people on FB are oblivious to this kind of stuff. Entertainment is more important or I see a whole host of stuff that slams the tea party, Sarah Palin & other various lies. It’s really sad. Wake up people! It’s time.

        • laura m.

MMM. Jodi. etc: Some I know view FB as a gossip/trash site for bored people and dropped out. I agree, I choose several patriot websites to read along with natural foods/health news. Housewives who cook, clean run errands have no time to spare for social media. Those that have jobs and do the above have no time either.

        • kfilly

Put a picture of a cat, “sports hero”, or actor with the story, and I’m sure it will get a million hits. People just won’t know what the story means.

    • Kim

I just sent this to my sister and brother in law in Seattle. Thank you Michael, for writing this. I can’t thank you enough. When I read this, I cried. There is nothing left to say. SMH in sadness.

    • piccadillybabe

I really think the citizen’s media is learning a lot from you Michael. Some seem to quote you verbatim at times. I am an alternative radio junkie and love listening to the rant about the ACA, TPP and all the false flags conspiracies. We have a government who fast tracked the ACA and now they are trying to do the same with TPP and its all to deregulate the corporate world so they can run rough shot over sovereign law and regulations and can have at it with all of us. The people who put these laws into action have signed nondisclosure agreements so that is why many do not know what is going on.

Hi Michael my namebis jimmy and I wanted to say thank you very much for all of the articles that you have posed over the year’s. I’ve been reading you’re articles for year’s now and I’ve learned a lot about this country and the dangerous path that this country is headed for and it’s really scary. I’ve also been visiting you’re other website, the american dream. I just wanted to say Michael that in you’re articles people need to start learning the real truth about obama and ower goverment, and that is that they are out there, working hard to destroy us. President osama as I like to call him is hell bent to destroy what ever we have left of ower freedom and people need to start waking up to president osama’s true nature. Osamacare healh plane is specifically designed to destroy this country and the american people, that’s why president osama has been working feverishly hard to keep his law wile so many americans have been opposed to sense it’s beginning. More and more people have to learn that president osama was really never ower friend and he’s never been there for ower best interests. So again I wanted to say thankyou for all of the articles that you have been posting for year’s know and keep up the good work and never give up because you have to wake up the remaining american people that are still asleep.

    • Kim

And Muslims are exempt from ACA. I guess they don’t believe in insurance so they get an exemption. Isn’t that nice? But, I’ve seen Muslim women driving around. Hmmmmm.

  • Rodster

You wanted ‘hope and change’? Well you got your wish. I’ve decided I will break the law as I will have nothing to do with state controlled healthcare and I’m not paying the fine.

    • ian

State controlled? please dont collect social security and,or medicare. Please reroute all payments to me.

      • americalsgt

So are you saying that just because I am now getting the money back that the government took from me for 50 years and on which I got 0.0% interest that I don’t have the right to object to government run health care?

        • ian

exactly. dont whine about socialism and then take advantage of its programs. While we are at it, dot ever visit a library, call the fire dept, or the police for that matter. And stop supporting the military. Big bad evil government socialism.

          • Socialism

            Obamacare is not a Socialism

          • ism

Obamacare designed and implemented by private insurance companies for benefit of private insure companies

          • True, but…

            hmmm.

            corporate power+state power…

            What is fascism!

          • ian

exactly. obamacare is not socialism. It is cutthroat capitalism. I am just making a point that government run institutions are not always bad, and we do benefit greatly from these institutions.

          • MXLord327

            Right, it is fascisism…

          • jaxon64

You obviously don’t get the concept of “taking advantage of a program”..and forced confiscation of monies from my paycheck being trickled back to its rightful owner.
If the govt would return all the money they’ve forcibly confiscated from my check week after week–and agree to not extort any more funds from me to pay for the seniors (whose money they already spent)–then I would 100% AGREE to NEVER ask for a single cent of SSI or medicare.
As for the fire dept–it’s volunteer in my county—the libraries are funded by local taxes…and the military or “national defence?’–that is actually one of the very few things that the Constitution assigned for the federal government to do as part of the protection of our REPUBLIC…sorry Ian..your comments are sophmoric at best.

    • mar1950

Right you are Rodster! When the government gets this ridiculous we have no choice but to ignore them. Hopefully this will get people to take care of their own health, stop smoking, lose weight, stop eating processed garbage, excersize. . .

      • peaceangel

We all need to decide in 2015 NOT to pay taxes at all.

  • Bill

I would compare barrycare to standing in an open field watching an approaching tornado and having no escape options. Is it not about time that this commy autocratic socialist along with all his associates are removed from their positions?

  • K

Well Michael, As near as I can tell. Obamacare is doing just what it is supposed to do. Turn America into 5% rich 20% middle class, 75% poor. As to obama ignoring the law, hardly the first time. He gave business a year extension on Obamacare, without changing the law. He refused to deport illegals who were brought here when they were young. Once again no change in the law. Now he is refusing to deport any illegals, who are related to military personnel, no change in the law. Not to mention how many executive orders, he is trying to enforce, as if they were laws..No the O fuhrer is right on plan, and the puppetmasters are most pleased.

    • Donna

I do not think it is right to deport a child back to Mexico or wherever that has lived here since childhood. It is morally wrong. This is just a grey area and side effect of illegal immigration. They are pretty much American other than having a legal piece of paper.

If given a choice any one of us would do what we had to do to make sure our kids had the best possible life with the most opportunity.

I do not fault people for wanting to come here.

After all how can they change their own governments and policies when other countries meddle in their business. This goes for all over the world not just Mexico. I wonder how much further along Arab nations, China, etc would be if the United States government did not fund these corrupt regimes and put puppet leaders in power to further our own agendas and best interests.

      • Cheyenne

How ’bout we send a carload of those illegal folks over to your house for you to pay to raise?

      • K

You miss my point. If they feel such an action is unjust, they must change the law. Obama has violated his oath of office, more times than I can count. He only upholds the laws he likes, there is a name for that, selective enforcement. And that concept, starts you down a very slippery slope.

    • Gene Baugh BBA

More illegals have been deported during his presidency than during any other. He may nor be happy about it, but it’s a fact.

      • Rene Girrard

It’s not a fact, it it a lie.

Thank you, Michael, for this article and all the research and time involved in the composition of an illuminating, well-rounded and informative communique.

The Watchmen have been saying for quite some time now that the numbers of Americans being affected so deeply by this ill-named law isn’t as important as just exactly WHO these people are: the middle class!

We know the enemy’s mind when it comes to battle tactics: destroy that which is the strongest and exploit that which is the weakest in your foe. The American Middle Class has been the backbone of this country and is it’s most potent asset in the struggle to keep tyranny outside the gates.

The ACA has, sadly, breached the gates, in our opinion. War is upon us, despite the tireless efforts of modern-day heralds such as yourself and your exemplary publications. We will share and disseminate as we

Since now we know that Obama and company knew in advance that Americans were going to lose their health insurance, that people that needed critical care were going to be denied, is that not premeditated murder? Why are we not arresting these people and giving them a trial. Bring back public executions for government employees.

Boy am I glad i live in Canada! Heres what i’ve been through in the last yr alone. First my Dad died of Cancer and he required extensive palative care, then my wife had a 7 cm tumour removed from her kidney, then my 15yr old son shot himself in the eye with a paintball gun and requires extensive Eye surgery(s). I checked into emerg once for chest pains, which was just indegestion. What did I pay for all this ,you might ask? I paid for parking passes at the Hospital! Thats it. Drugs, glasses, dental, etc were all covered by my benefits plan from work, and the hospital service was prompt and 1st world professional with minimal waiting times. I live minites away from two big city hospitals.Being a single income Father, I couldnt even Imagine what it would be like having to deal with Obamacare.

Could there be another reason ?

For example, in government programs most money going to doctors and hospitals.

In private insurance programs most money going to major shareholders ,Rockefellers, Rothschilds whoever they are.

Martin: If you had the misfortune of living in the Third World hellhole south of you (The Banana Republic of America), you would be flat broke by now. You would be six figures in debt, you would have debt collectors hounding and threatening you nonstop, you would lose your house and any other assets, you would be facing the possibility of debtors’ prison, and your credit would be permanently ruined (which would make it even harder for you to pay back the money owed because a lot of employers check your credit these days in the BRA). Medical debt is the #1 cause of bankruptcy in the BRA, and the Unaffordable Care Act isn’t going to fix a horribly broken system.

      • MARTIN

El Pollo: Thank you for your reply, i posted that mearly to put things in perspective for Micheals readers. Isn’t it funny how we haven’t seen any of those idiots on TV lately making fun of Canada’s health care system. The most Important thing you can have in life is acess to 1st world standard medical procedures, and ill gladly wait a few hours more to get them.

        • El Pollo de Oro

Martin: One thing you’ll find about many Americans is that the ones who love to trash other countries don’t even own passports. Myself, I’ve done a lot of traveling overseas and have seen foreign health care systems first hand (including the one in France). I’ve never met an American expat who missed the nightmarish health insurance system we have in the BRA (especially if they had a chronic condition like diabetes).

  • Gregge K Johnson

Thank you for your work Michael ! However I can not find the 20,000 pages of regulations . Where can a person find these regulations ?

  • Hubbs

The insurance companies are going to be collecting juicy premiums, but won’t these high deductibles and co-pays prevent patients from engaging health care beyond the stampeded emergency rooms?

Example: You go to the emergency room because of persistent cough with blood tinged sputum, you get an x-ray which shows a cancerous lung mass, and you are discharged with instructions to go to your general or thoracic surgeon, who then turns you away because you can’t afford your copay/deductible (now that the insurance companies have taken your money via premiums). Therefore, the insurance companies may never have to pay out. Meanwhile the hospital doesn’t collect either, and if a typical rural one, may be forced to close. Finally, there will actually be a surplus of doctors and health care workers under this scenario, as no one will be able to actually follow through with health care after they get discharged from the ER.

    • Sandbagger

Exactly what I thought. I suspect other countries will happily accept the doctors.

Even more patients than today may find it faster to fly to Timbuktu for their surgery…and cheaper!

  • Rene Girrard

That was an outstanding article Michael, and thanks for all your efforts. You pretty much summed up all the damage Obamacare could potentially cause.
I know this may be hard for a lot of people to believe, but in 2009 the Lord spoke to me about this, and He said, “It will pass, but it won’t have any teeth to it”. In the end I believe Obamacare will be an option, and not the law of the land. I think eventually they will not even have the authority to withhold money from your tax return if you don’t sign up. That’s the only thing keeping Obamacare alive right now. Well, that and the media’s desperate attempt to make America’s first black president a success.
I wonder if all those Seattle liberals are happy they voted for Obama now? Haha.

I would like to give a link to my testimony of the Lord working in my life, but I know comments with links get delayed. Thanks for your article on this.

I think that current government policies are to encourage rebellion. Then there will be an excuse to repress the population at gunpoint in the name of public order. In this way the developing dictatorship will be secured.

    • seth datta

Like Rockefeller said, the NWO will be by consent or conquest… the pr1ck.

These sociopathic cowards hate competition and are taking away gun rights etc to eventually enslave the populace (80% complete).

There will be much loss of life. I feel the NWO is here and inevitable in becoming complete. It will also eventually fail. The real question is not to revolt or not, for the NWO will come into full fruition. The question is how to prepare for a long protracted campaign that will last decades. I don’t believe disappearing into a bunker is helpful or is the answer. Having a strong local community independent of neediness on government is more likely the way to go.

  • Richard

An absolutely stunning article, Michael. You truly outdid yourself. Congratulations from someone who lives outside the United States and pays $3,500 p/a for 100% family coverage (no deductibles or copay), 80% prescription coverage – worldwide except the United Bloody States of America, insured with Lloyds of London.

  • bobcat

Obamacare is a fiasco. It could not have worked. The centerpiece of this law is the unprecedented requirement that everyone must purchase a product from a private company whether or not they can afford it. Even if the poor are subsidized, this has no chance of working. With a captive market, the insurance companies were bound to cut benefits and raise prices. Was anyone really surprised when they did just that?

    • grumpyhillbilly

Isn’t this just modeled after car insurance? Don’t most states require you to have car insurance just to own one. Its called fascism.

      • Scared Economist

Car insurance is optional. If you decide you don’t want it then you don’t have to buy it. But then you can’t drive. Your choice.
Obamacare is mandatory whether you want it or need it. No option.

        • Micro

Auto insurance, at least in Texas, is optional. State law requires proof of “financial responsibility”, which can be satisfied by filing a bond with the state. Not cheap, but it is an alternative.

Good article Michael – please keep up the good work – what options do we have to change the law? I don’t think we have any. I think we’re screwed. In 2003 the hospital charged me $5,000 a day for a semi private room,
nothing included. Now it must be a lot more..They keep your illness a
secret until they absolutely have to tell you..They keep the prices a
secret until you get the bill!.. Who’s getting rich? Who bankrupts 60%
of the patients? You still don’t know? Really? Do you have to go through
my experience to find out? I’d rather die, than go through that again..To finish this off I never needed the major operation they insisted I had to have, (I know because I refused it), otherwise I’ll die, I declined the stent too, and I weened myself off of the 4 (Suicidal) meds they told me I must keep taking otherwise severe seizures could kill me. Pres. Obama’s plan has some faults but they will get resolved. Be patient, we the general public will be better off with it, than without it..Only the Medical Community benefits enormously from today’s plan….The whole Medical System from unnecessary surgeries, drugs etc.. today is totally out of control..I hope the Single Payer Plan will be the final goal of future administrations…The Medical Lobbies are working very hard to derail Obama’s Americare, don’t let them..God Bless the USA!

David Rockefeller (CFR) publically has praised Mao/the Chinese government because they were able to kill off and redirect their population to a high morale and peak efficiency. Since CFR is the puppetmaster of the U.S. government it seems that our society is being directed to this CFR acclaimed social model . A sick, frail or elderly population does not a Chinese model useful society make !!!

Time to start eating healthy and exercising and becoming knowledgable about your own body, self diagnoses, and organic eating, everything you can do to stay out of hospitals and doctor’s offices

    • ian

i’ve been doing that for 13 years. Havent been to the doctors once.

      • Hancock

Ian, I had a friend like you who wouldn’t go to the doctor no matter what.. He died at age 41 of a massive heart attack….

        • ian

i am a yoga teacher, an ayurvedic health practitioner , havent eaten meat for 21 year, excercise daily. Very low risk for heart attack.

          • Hancock

Yes ian the graveyards are full of braggadocious folks like you. Some of us realize that anything can happen to anyone and you wind up needing health care. You will be old like me some day and will realize that there ain’t no guarantees in this life. It’s admirable that you are doing what you can, but don’t count on things always staying rosy for you. Be prepared with alternative plans.

          • ian

iam prepared. I am preparing to relocate to a socialist country that has affordable or free care for all. Tired of this crooked system that sees fit to spend trillions a year of a bloated defense system, but makes excuses after excuses for not providing healthcare for its citizens. The current system in the u.s. is unsustainable and will collapse.

          • El Pollo de Oro

Ian: I totally agree with you that the “current system in the u.s. is unsustainable and will collapse.” But Hancock is right: even if you take good care of yourself, s*** happens. And God help anyone who isn’t rich and has the misfortune of getting sick in the BRA.

          • ian

i agree, which is why am setting my sites on moving to another country. I hold no allegiance to this messed up country. I lived in Europe for 9 years of my life, and while i am a u.s. born citizens, i would renounce my citizenship in a heartbeat to live in a more ethical country.

          • El Pollo de Oro

Hancock: Good points. Even if you do all the right things (exercise every day, eat your fruits and veggies, stay away from processed crap), s*** happens. Taking good care of yourself can delay health problems, but eventually, something is going to go wrong.

I find it difficult if not impossible to understand.
Any law that is so confusing that no one really understands it cannot be constitutional. Any law like those concerning the EPA or the IRS appears to be just that. Too confusing to really understand. A writer once asked for all the regulations concerning the EPA. They sent him 3 semi-truckloads of regulation!
This is what is happening with Obamacare! It is too confusing for the average person to understand.
I have written plenty of contracts in Real Estate over the years. My broker stopped me on the first one I wrote.

He said: “You are not a lawyer, don’t try to write a contract like open.” Put everything in plain, simple English. It is not going to be broken by a lawyer in a court of law because it is in simple terms. That broker trained me write. Simple is usually unbreakable.
That is the mistake of Obamacare, the EPA, the IRS tax laws, and a lot of other things.
    Keep It Simple Stupid! KISS!
But then we wouldn’t need a huge crew of lawyers would we?
You want to stop Executive Orders cold? Make them all expire the day the Presidency changes to a new person in charge. That means all past presidential orders expire the day the president is no longer president.
We have allowed Executive Orders to become permanent changes in the system. That is writing law without due representation from our Congress.
Politically some of those laws could never become law if it were taken to a vote.
Regulating law is in the same boat as executive orders. 20,000 regulating laws concerning ObamaCare? Who voted on those regulations?
I have heard that bureaucrats make hundreds of regulations a day based on interpretation of current laws. Who votes on those regulations?
Who even knows what those regulations say?
The only people authorized by us to make law is the two houses of Congress. The President can sign those laws into use. So where did we go wrong? Regulation law concerning how the laws are going to be enforced has turned into a legal nightmare!
Executive orders are even worse. They can deny you benefits that you earned. Like a Executive Order by President George W. Bush that limited Veteran Health Benefits to those in dire financial need. So now you have lack of income as a requirement to get your health benefits from being a veteran.
‘Obama quietly left that executive order in place!
IRS regulation is so confusing that no two agents will give you exactly the same answer to a question.
So we put the most confusing agency in history in charge of health care? Seems a little questionable to me . . .

  • peaceangel

The DC insurance commissioner was fired by Obama two hours after making a sort of controversial statement about the new proposal to allow people to keep their insurance.

That insurance commissioner in Washington state is in trouble.

When Hillary first wrote this plan it was designed to kill businesses (that is the 20,000 pages of regs) and it was designed to put ins. companies out of business and to move everyone into a single payer system.

Nations who have socialized medicine already pay 50% taxation to have it and they are all going broke.

When researching expatriating I found more than a dozen countries in which seniors don’t pay more than $100-$150 per month with no deductibles and no co-pay and they pay for everything.

    • Sandbagger

Please share the list of countries.

  • EndOfUSAfreedom

Well, you know a tree by its fruit:
Obamacare’s REAL goals are: Kill off all old people, shut down hospitals, drive doctors out of business, force institutions to hand over all financial and medical data to the government, impoverish all Americans, put and end to full time jobs, and drive the US dollar down to match the Mexican paso.

The health care system was an abomination in The Banana Republic of America (the Third World hellhole that used to be Los Estados Unidos) before the Unaffordable Care Act and will be continue to be an abomination under the Unaffordable Care Act. Medical bankruptcies will continue to be a cruel fact of life, and Americans will continue to die younger than people in other developed countries. Oh, wait, I forgot: the BRA is no longer a developed country. It is a banana republic.

“Obamacare is not socialized health medicine. It is forcing the people of the United States to buy health insurace from private, giant insurance companies. Obamacare is the merger of state and corporate powers, which is called fascism.”—Gerald Celente

“Obamacare is the perfection of crony capitalism that’s being sold as something that’s wonderful for the people. Insanely expensive care provided by crony capitalist cartels that have totally opaque pricing and are in cahoots with the central state that supposedly regulates them.”—Charles Hugh Smith

“Obamacare is essentially forcing us to buy a defective corporate product. ”—Chris Hedges

“I share the right wing’s critique of Obamacare. It’s a disastrous bill. It was written by corporate lobbyists.”—Chris Hedges

“You need some health insurance? We’re going to privatize it. We’re going to make you buy
from our pals that sell insurance. That’s what they call Obamacare.”—Gerald Celente

If you’re a CEO at Blue Cross, Aetna or United Health Care, times are good. The rest of us get to pay the CEO’s bloated salary, suffer medical bankruptcies, die young and freeze to death in the streets. Welcome to Third World fascist hell, also known as The Banana Republic of America (land of the corrupt and home of the desperate).

My son is one of those people who doesn’t make much money. He’s a steward at a hotel. I’ve been handling some financial matters for him. So I see his paycheck. With the implementation of Obamacare, it dropped by 100.00. This is change all right, but where’s the hope?.

For a president to just blatantly disregard the rule of law is a very dangerous precedent…

That precedent was already set when Eric “Comatose” Holder refused to go after the shiester bankers at Goldman Sachs, et al, that stole millions if not billions from the economy before and after housing collapse.

  • Bilbo2016

So those who must go to the marketplace to buy more expensive plans with huge increases in deductibles will not be able to find the money to pay for the new Obama care compliant policies!

This President lied to us all, his Regime is the most corrupt and authoritarian we have ever seen , and the move to “national socialist” style mandatory health coverage is going to politicize the delivery of health care in ways people cannot yet understand. IN a few years I can see how the massive shortage of doctors and drugs will result in the favored political elites and their (“mission critical”) supporters will be given preference over the foolish “comrades’ who still think they are entitled to public expression of critical viewpoints against the government’s “party” line. Want a little better healthcare? Best shut up now and sing the praises of the (“demonocratic”) Party!

Enjoy these waning days of freedom under the First American Republic..I believe we are heading for a major economic crash and a “reset” of so many things we once took for granted.

From my perspective, people will start looking elsewhere to stay healthy. We have a sick-care system in this country that is guaranteed to rob you blind and then put the last nail in your coffin. Who needs it? Recently heard on local radio that there are people in the area who are going to start helping people in needwho do not have insurance and have very little money (that is most of us). Hearing that gave me some hope. Many doctors who are not in it for the money will also start helping people. You do not need expensive pharmaceuticals and fancy hospitals to maintain your health, just a little common sense. Alternative medicine is also making a come back. Everything that can keep you healthy and vital is growing right outside your door, mother nature’s garden and it’s free, no health insurance needed.

The Economy is already teetering on another downturn, if one believe we’re out of trouble now. I feel this could be the catalyst to force it over the edge into a deeper Recession. A good majority of the Middle-class paying an extra $100-300 a Month per household in Insurance, could be devastating to the Economy.

What gets hurt when people cut expenses? All of Retail, Fast food services and major purchases like cars and Vacations. Hence, more people in these Industries lose their jobs and have to be dependent on State assistance.

They needed to keep the Healthcare system the way it was and adjust it here and there. This drastic change, is hurting us Financially and with losing great Doctors we’ve had for years, dropping us as Patients. Plus, Doctors are fed up with all the new regulations they have to abide by too.

Otherwise, there are going to be a lot of very sick people who won’t be able to go to work, causing the economy to go to Hell once and for all. people it is time to revolt against this despot in the white house and I am not condoning violence but saying the life blood of this law depends on us signing up for this scam if people do not sign up for the bill we have the opportunity to defund this debacle ourselves, I work in the health care field and have said for years the govt is not going to continue to pay for healthcare at the end of life care where it costs individually hundreds of thousands of dollars and collectively billions of dollars and I am not saying letem die but treat them medically but life support after a certain age should not be an option due to the age factor and after initiated you only have a short window time wise to get the patient off of such measures because more than I would say after that window starts to close you start to get a whole cascade of health problems that start to show upfrom infections to multi system failure and even if your loved one makes it through this you have to consider the rehab time, only for them to go to a nursing home and die a few weeks to months later at the cost of a lot of wasted money but that is something people in this country are oing to have to come to grips with is that one day you are going to die and their is no way around it and don’t bankrupt the whole system by expecting someone else to pay for this type f care, the typical medicare ptatient that has to have this type of care they will use up the paltry sum they have paid in, in a couple of weeks to months so by that time you are using someone elses money they have paid into the system and moneywise that system is not sustainable that is just the way it is and you may as well accept that fact, as the way the medical system works now socialized medicine id inevitable there will never ever be enough cash to pay for all of it yes eventually there will be hospitals for the rich and hospitals for the poor, I have seen it many times loads of cash spent on patients well not really cash but insurance wise and medicare which everyone working pays a tax to keep it not even funded because our genius in the white house is an economic failure at creating any type of business friendly atmosphere in this country and I truly believe that obamas goal is to destroy this country totally and he is well on his to success and if you think the dems that met with him and chewed his ears on Obama care really care you are dreaming they are appeasing you until just after the election and they are going to tell you thanks and kiss my butt the elction is over and we are going to continue to support Obama we have your vote as they laugh all the way to the bank, hell they don’t even have to participate in the plan but you do tell me what is wrong with that it is against the law for you not to participate but it is lawful for them not to, hmm so you see it is time for us to tell them to kiss our a$$ and put a knife in the heart of Obama care by not participating

Estimates of 100 million next year. Policies will start being cancelled in Sept 2014. The democrats will be a thing of the past….
AND the premiums on average are up 49% this year? How much next year?
All private insurance gone and employer based insurance will be so expensive, it will be cancelled. Probably the policy you have now is illegal, due to one plan for everybody! Why don’t we get a chance to enroll in the 112 health insurance plans for congress and their staffs? We the tax payer pays 75% of these public servants, cause they are so special and don’t adhere to the laws they pass on US not Them.

Cannot be fixed in the UK, at least. It will collapse in the next 2 decades. The power mongers will own the show for a few decades more. ~Then it will all come down. Just like ancient Rome.

I don’t know whether or not the country will survive ObamaCare, but the evidence doesn’t look good for survival. Who knows what other disasters are contained within this legislation since many of the clauses contained within the legislation are open to interpretation.
Our pols, whether Donkey or Elephant are not going to help us with this one. Both sides see ObamaCare as an opportunity to win elections and ordinary Americans are caught in a political crossfire without escape.
We don’t need a hero since there are no heros left in the world. God is not going to help us out of this mess, it is up to us. Do we really sit back and watch our friends and family get consumed by this disaster? If so, what does that say about us?
I am reminded of a line from the mini-series Centenial (my spelling is horrible, I know). “This is our home Mercy, will you fight for it? This is my home, I will fight for it. I was born here. I live here and I will die here.”
Good night and God bless you always.

    Hi Michael,

You really do an excellent job on Obamacare. There is one point I don’t see getting discussed anywhere, however. Specifically, that the government already runs healthcare in this country. By my calculations the government pays at least 70% of all healthcare costs in this country (either directly or indirectly). Medicare, Medicaid, military, government employee health insurance, all the pseudo-private sector policies (defense contractors, infrastructure workers etc. etc.) And if the government pays 70% of all healthcare costs, then 70% of salaries of people working in healthcare are paid by government (essentially making them government workers, too). I think the reason healthcare is so expensive in the US is because what we have is a socialist system that allows profiteering – and not by the people who actually provide the care, but by administrators, big pharma etc.

Healthcare is 17% of US GDP and the way I see it, Obamacare will make this horrible setup even more bloated. It will cost more and make healthcare an even bigger part of the economy, but won’t change the percentage government ultimately pays. So it’s just another big-ticket, big government give-away. It will increase our debt and suck up capital that should have gone to build a real economy.

Half our economy is now three things: Financial Services, Healthcare and Defense I understand that we all need those three things to some extent, but how in the hell can the other half of the economy be expected to carry this?

At this point, I guess we should welcome things that will hasten the collapse.

There is a very simple solution to corporate medical system: apply anti-monopoly laws to every part of the sick-care system. Costs will drop by over 50%. See Karl Denninger’s articles on this.

the bloated Pentagon and the rest of the national security & surveillance state needs to be CUT by over 50%

    Hi micheal and tec bloggers,
Im trying to sort out the obamacare ‘bubble’ how will the banksters on wall street profit from this? W/ millions losing coverage the fascist tax aspect of this is obvious. To get coverage it costs more. To those who look to the GrOPers for help, they did nothing to stop it. Not even one single amendment or spending bill or anything added to this! They didn’t even try to stop it. But, finding the ‘bubble’ angle of this may be profitable.

On comment, As things were before Obamacare, seeing a doctor or a specialist in America was much quicker and generally a lot easier than in the countries that already had socialized medicine.

    • Sten

Lies. Everyone knows there are millions of people in the USA who have waited many years to see a doctor, because they don’t have money or insurance. This would not happen in the more developed nations. It never ceases to amaze me how so many prosperous Americans, who think of themselves as basically good people, think it’s OK for people to go for years without medical care they need. I hope everyone loses their health care for a while. Let’s see who they feel about it then. Maybe once they learn for themselves what it’s like here without insurance or money, they will sing a different tune.

Jay Sekulow and the ACLJ are trying mightily to defeat Obamacare in Federal Court. They point out that the ACA is the biggest pro-abortion law as well as the biggest assault on our liberty as citizens that our government has ever tried to legislate. They comprise a powerful team of successful, God-fearing lawyers, and I for one pray for continued victory in all their efforts on behalf of our religious and constitutional freedoms.

People don’t want to wake up. I send these articles out to all my contact list and rarely, if ever, get any response. Even a lot of my family is of the same mindset. I also think a lot of them are afraid to look for fear of WHAT they are going to find out. Better to face the music and figure out what you’re going to do than waste time with your hands over your eyes. I’m glad I don’t work in the medical profession anymore. I remember how it was then and how really bad it is now and going to get worse! It will be downright dangerous to go into a hospital eventually. Better to stay home and take care of yourself. You might live longer.

I know you’re just trying to make a quick buck by writing this stuff, but, is it necessary to rile up ignorant and impressionable people like this? You’re just helping create a more divisive country by making up stuff. And you know you are, that’s the most maddening part of it all

What’s the point, they won. Doesn’t matter Democrat or Republican, it’s all corporations making more money. This county has peaked, it’s all downhill from here.
