Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Prepper Dad? Even Robert Kiyosaki Is Warning That An Economic Collapse Is Coming

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Are you familiar with Robert Kiyosaki? He is best known for the “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” series of books.  Over 26 million books authored by Kiyosaki have been sold and he is recognized as a financial expert by millions of people across the globe.  Well, guess what?  Even Robert Kiyosaki is warning that an economic collapse is coming.  In fact, Kiyosaki and his team of financial experts are encouraging Americans to stock up on food, guns and precious metals.  This is yet another sign of just how close we are to the total collapse of the U.S. Economy.  Kiyosaki, who once co-authored a book with Donald Trump entitled “Why We Want You To Be Rich” is now a full-fledged prepper.  As even more prominent Americans start warning that an “economic collapse” is coming do you think that the American people will finally wake up and start paying attention?

The statements that Robert Kiyosaki makes in the video posted below are absolutely jaw-dropping.  Once upon a time he was all about teaching people how they could get rich, but now he is talking about storing food, buying guns, investing in precious metals and preparing for the coming crash.

The following are 11 of the best Kiyosaki “sound bites” from the video below….

#1 “when the economy crashes as we predict”

#2 “the crowds come rushing in to buy gold and silver”

#3 “we could either go into a depression or we go to hyperinflation”

#4 “or we could also go to war”

#5 “buy a gun”

#6 “I’m preparing”

#7 “I’m prepared for the worst”

#8 “so come to my house and I’m armed and dangerous and I’ll welcome you”

#9 “we have food, we have water, we have guns, gold and silver, and cash”

#10 “the credit card system shuts down, the world shuts down”

#11 “the supermarkets have less than 3 days supply”

If you have not seen this video yet, it is definitely worth the 8 minutes that it takes to watch it.  Robert Kiyosaki seems to be extremely alarmed about the future of the U.S. economy….

It certainly seems as though the entire financial culture in America is changing.

Once upon a time everyone wanted to know how to get rich.

Now everyone wants to know how to survive the collapse that is coming.

As I have written about previously, even people like Tony Robbins and Donald Trump are warning that an economic collapse is coming.

Economic pessimism is seemingly everywhere and almost every recent survey indicates that the American people are losing faith in the U.S. economy.

For example, in a recent article I noted that 48 percent of Americans believe that it is likely that another great Depression will begin within the next 12 months.

According to Gallup, the percentage of Americans that lack confidence in U.S. banks is now at an all-time high of 36%.  Back in 2007, just 14% of Americans lacked confidence in U.S. banks.

In order for society to function correctly, people need to be able to trust each other and they need to be able to trust the major institutions that hold society together.

Once confidence in our major societal institutions is gone, it is going to be incredibly difficult to get it back.

Sadly, the reality is that many of our major financial institutions have been untrustworthy for a very long time.  It is just that the American people are only just now starting to wake up to that fact.

For example, the Federal Reserve has been at the heart of our economic problems for decades but most Americans have not realized it.

But now that is starting to change.  According to one recent poll, only 30% of Americans currently view Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke favorably.

The American people are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with an economic system where the vast majority of the rewards flow to Wall Street, the big banks, the biggest corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

According to the Washington Post, the top 0.1% of all income earners in the United States took home 2.6% of the nation’s earnings in 1975.  By 2008, the top 0.1% were taking home 10.4% of the nation’s earnings.

The Washington Post also says that after adjusting for inflation, the average income of the top 0.1% of all Americans jumped by 385 percent between 1970 and 2008 while the average income for the bottom 90 percent of all Americans actually fell by one percent.

The sad truth is that income inequality in the United States has become a major problem.  A very small sliver of the population is reaping almost all of the rewards and the middle class is being ripped to shreds.  Conservatives, liberals, Democrats, Republicans and libertarians should all be alarmed by this.

Meanwhile, the national debt continues to explode.  Right now, U.S. government debt is expanding at a rate of $40,000 per second.

Every single minute we steal another 2 million dollars away from our children and our grandchildren.

But if we stop this theft it would throw the U.S. economy into a horrible economic crisis that would be far worse than what we are experiencing right now.

That is why the vast majority of our politicians do not have the guts to do it.

We truly are caught between a rock and a hard place.

But people like Robert Kiyosaki can see what is coming, and they are getting prepared.

Are you prepared?

Many of our young people have come up with their own versions of an “economic stimulus plan”.  In past articles I have documented many of the signs that society is collapsing, including the disturbing rise of the “mob robbery” phenomenon.

Well, just the other day there was another very shocking mob robbery in the city of Philadelphia.

On Thursday, a mob of 40 teens and young adults invaded a Sears department store on 69th Street, grabbed all of the merchandise that they could carry, and stormed right back out again.

We are starting to see these kinds of large scale crimes happen from coast to coast.

So what is going to happen to America if the economy experiences the kind of full out collapse that Robert Kiyosaki is talking about?

We live in very interesting times.

I hope that you are getting prepared.

  • Gary2

Its nice to see a focus on the extremely unequal dist of wealth and income in America. I am also starting to hear more about it in the MSM.

With the right voting for the Ryan budget plan on the record that gives MORE tax cuts to the rich at the expense of kicking grandma out of her nursing home and still not balancing the budget they are toast hopefully for good this time. The Ryan plan adds to the deficit, they all voted for it and now they are worried about the debt ceiling. WTF???

Supreme Court Justice Lois Brandais said it best:

You can have a democracy or you can have a great concentration of wealth in a few hands. YOU CAN NOT HAVE BOTH(emphasis mine)

I do not think anyone truly believes we have anything resembling democracy in this country. Left right or center.

    GOP=Greed Over People

    • Charles_Texas

The Ryan plan does not kick grandma out of the nursing home. You are right about a party that needs to be gone permaniatly. It is call the left wing, progressive, two-faced, lying Dems. Yep, I did it. I resorted to name calling. In this instance it is totally justified.

      • Johnny Paycheck

Yeah, that Paul Ryan. A real stand up, fiscal conservative. That’s why he voted for TARP. That’s prudent fiscal policy at it’s finest. And most conservative.

        Um, right.

    • JR

Truly one of the most EVIL comments I have read in a long time. You, Gary, are part of the OPPRESSORS. Kicking Grandma off the ledge, medically speaking? YOU LEFTISTS are kicking a whole FREAKING generation of grandmothers off the ledge. Have you ever lived under socialized medicine, as I have as a Canadian? No, you haven’t. Otherwise you might actually know something. Recently, the main Vancouver newspaper discovered that BC Med is just going to let ~ 6,000 people with serious medical problems DIE, as they are broke. The premier of Newfoundland flew down to the US last year to get his heart surgery (why? Why not stay in Canada?) The Canadian Supreme Court has now ruled private clinics can open up, as people cannot get care in the socialized system. New clinics open up around 1/week.

Next canard. It’s isn’t a zero sum game. And if it were, perhaps we could start with John Kerry’s dodging a half mil in taxes to store his mega-yacht, Michelle-Marie Antoinette Obama’s latest uber vacation, or get just ONE freaking Learjet leftist in Hollywood to open up one of their zillion room mansions to a single indigent person.

Let’s leave aside the fact that, according to Dr. Rummell at Univ. of Hawaii, you leftists murdered 160 MILLION human beings last century.

Fact is, it is people like you that do evil, you and all your socialist hypocrites that have bankrupted every country they have tried their absurd philosophy in.

      • Troia

Good effort, but no cigar. Go back to school and stop throwing mud in the water.

      • Oznb

        Ignore….Don’t encourage.

      • Johnny Paycheck

Yeah, all those evil socialists like Ben Bernanke, Hank Paulson, Geithner, Greenspan, Blankfei, et al.

They’re some evil socialists all right! They take their evil, nefarious brand of socialism straight out of the Milton Friedman playbook!

And all of this phony derivative, sub-prime mortgage stuff has nothing to do Capitalism!

Right. Tell yourself whatever it takes to make it through the Economicaplypse.

    • American Guesser

I wish people would get it. The United States of America is a Constitutional Republic not a democracy. Please look it up and when your done please send a letter to the White House to explain it to them.

    • Jeff

Good thing we are not a democracy. We are a Federal Republic and me thinks this will become very obvious if the poop hits the fan and states take back most of the control they have lost over the decades.

      • dph

We are a Corporatocracy. And any State or movement that stands up to the Corporations, the Military or the Banks, will get crushed like a little bug. Anyone who calls themselves a “Patriot” or talks about “Democracy” or a “Republic”, or who believes that one party is better than another, is living in acute denial.

    • DownWithLibs

You really need to just move to Cuba and get it over with. Democracy is not for everyone. You do want to be happy with a “social equality” state don’t you? Move already!

      • Johnny Paycheck

I would if they would let me in. Have you ever dated Cuban woman?

In the immortal words of Bart Simpson, “Ay Carumba”.

Plus I could finally get these wisdom teeth removed.

  • a cruel accountant

This guy just hopped on the bandwagon after The Millionaire Next Door was written. And he hopped on the doom and gloom bandwagon after that. I do not trust a single thing he says.

    • Gil

      I agree.

    • Otown Right Guy

I agree also. I don’t care what he says. This clown is a con artist that sells Get Rich Quick books with vague ideas about how to get rich. I foolishly bought one of them when I was younger and dumber. It must have been in my Gary2 phase.

      • DownWithLibs

        Gary2 phase. LOL!!!!

    • Johnny Paycheck

THANK YOU. He’s the go to guy whenever the MSM want an “economic expert” on the show. Every time I turn on the tube, there he is.

Kind of like that other Japanese guy they always call when they need a “scientific expert”. (Michio Kaku, who is a propagandist.)

Are those guy related or something?

  • the Beast

I ask none but one question (and its derivatives): Why do people urge themselves to get richer? Does being richer mean being better? Is there a certain positive correlation between happiness and amount of wealth one is holding?
How about a kind of live where things are just enough to get by? If people could hold such way of living, then none of these would happen.
In the current economy, if there is an adequate distribution of wealth, then everyone could hold a just share. I’m not talking about extreme socialism/communism where everyone gets equal share disregard one’s achievement, I’m talking about where the poor aren’t very poor and the rich aren’t very rich.
Maybe if we adopt the system like the Swedish people have, things could go much better.

    • Gary2

You are 100% correct that the unequal distribution of wealth and income is destroying this country and is the cause of the recent economic troubles. It is unbelievable that the right wants to further cut taxes on the rich and make the problem worse.

Yes-there is a correlation with wealth and happiness. Trust me I would be a lot happier being rich than lower middle class. It would be so wonderful to not worry about paying the mortgage next month, having a republican political party solely devoted to my needs and even duping average people that my needs are in their best interest.

I am sure life’s good at the top. I offer a challenge to any rich person who is unhappy and stressed because they have so much money-give me your money. I almost want to vomit when I hear the rich complain about the “problems” being rich causes them.

We need to tax the greedy and help the needy.

    • Jeffery

“I hope that you are getting prepared.”

Everyone, please prepare as best as you are able. We need as many people ready for a crash as possible.

“So what is going to happen to America if the economy experiences the kind of full out collapse that Robert Kiyosaki is talking about?”

First there will be a desperate panic, then chaos as the government will not be able to handle the situation. Think New Orleans post-Katrina x 1,000,000. The metro areas will become a nightmare within a week. Beyond that I have no idea, but I fear another full blown world war is a distinct possibility.

Great article, the best one on this subject that I have read here or anywhere in the last year.

What U.S. Economic Recovery? Five Destructive Myths,8599,2076568,00.html

  • Spencer

Kiyosaki is a tool – he’s recognized as an ‘expert’ primarily by Amway enthusiasts and only has a name BECAUSE of Amway. He has no real proven success aside from selling a bunch of books and games by the same enthusiasts…..

    • Duhhh!

Think about what you just said. Thats how you make money these days. So, he does have proven success… by selling books and games. You’re just too stupid to realize it.

Im well stocked and ready for whatever is to come. Most people my age (30-ish) are still acting like spoon fed babies sucking their parents teets and playing video games.

All of you who come here to groan are obviously too lazy to do any REAL work and start thinking for yourselves. Stop playing mindless video games, stop watching TV, etc. Successful people create items, not consume them.

      • pawpawcap

Thats the Best Post I have read in a long time…

      • Johnny Paycheck

Worst post I’ve read in a long time. You’re putting people down for wasting times playing video games and you’re typing shit on the Internet. How productive.

Kind of hypocritical. You’re just too stupid to realize it.

  • “So what is going to happen to America if the economy experiences the kind of full out collapse that Robert Kiyosaki is talking about?”

For decades, American financial experts have been telling people to invest offshore to get a better return on investment.

When the full out collapse arrives, these experts will receive their better return on investment.

How many of these experts will be sitting around laughing about their preparations?

How many of these experts will move offshore after trashing America?

“Overseas” will be worse off than the continental U.S. The Euro will be toast in 1 year. PIGGS and the European Union will be history. China? They hold our debt. How will they hold up when we default? There is no “overseas” savior.

      • Johnny Paycheck

Iceland. They said “NO” to the banking cartel. Small, self sufficient, self contained economies.

That’s where the money is. Or that’s where the real wealth is since money will be worthless.

  • David Gurney

When it all hits the fan,we’ll see remakes 24-7 of “Spooks Run Wild”.This time,Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall won’t be needed.

  • Steve

Income inequality? Banksters steal hundreds of billions, ILLEGALS rob the rest from the states, with the help of the new royalty, the Government “employee”.

  • Toomanyfakeconservatives

R.K. has more credibility in his pinky finger than the entire Obama administration, FOX, CNN, and the Federal Reserve combined.

  • VegasBob

The US economy is one gigantic Pozni scheme. The effect of de-industrialization is that America no longer produces anything of value except for weapons and airplanes.

Since we create no wealth but consume everything in sight, we make up the difference with borrowing – AKA debt.

The trouble is that the US credit card is maxed out, and we can’t make the current payments, much less borrow even more.

Even a fifth grader can figure out that something stinky is going to hit the fan pretty soon, and it won’t be pretty.

    • Creditcard

Vegas Bob says: The trouble is that the US credit card is maxed out, and we can’t make the current payments, much less borrow even more

Yup yer right my very own personal credit cards are maxed, now what did you all say about that $250.00 bankruptcy deal?

  • Maria

There are two kinds of people in the world.

    Those who are prepping.

And those who will wish they had been prepping.

    • JC

      Or in other words:
the 5 wise virgins and the 5 unwise virgins.

    • Johnny Paycheck

I just thought of a third category. Those who are prepping but hope they are not stuck with people who have no intellectual capacity to discuss anything other than “prepping” after the collapse.

  • Chuck D

Great article Mike. Wish I was more prepared than I am but I am working on it. Wish I could prepare my wife and kids mentally .

  • LittleBird

First off, thank you for your writing. I read all posts here and at The American Dream.
I appreciate and understand your urgings to *prepare*.
But beyond the prepping part, I would love to see a future post describing what things might be like after the Big Collapse.
    What comes after the collapse?
I live in a very small rural area, surrounded by family and people who have lived alongside our family for GENERATIONS, so I feel very safe and well prepared. If it is just a matter of no longer having the convenience of stores, debit, technology…. then that almost sounds like a nice vacation.
After a collapse would we be left along to work out our own solutions? Or do some envision more sinister aspects taking advantage of the vulnerability?

    • Michael

      What comes after the collapse?

I think that is a very good question.

I believe that it is going to be really hard to make too many generalizations. Things are going to look very different depending on the area you live in and the neighbors you have living around you.

To me, one of the keys for the years ahead is to be as flexible as possible. We are all going to have to think on our feet and be able to respond to changing conditions.

So we all need to prepare the best that we can, but we all also must be ready to change our “plans” based on unfolding events.

The world is going to become a very unstable place.

      • Eagle Scout

This is the best advice of all.
Mobility and flexibility; travel light & quick.
This philosophy has also kept me from securing
a homestead and, as the Fonz used to say, ‘Sit on it’.
My home in the burbs is paid off, but this is no place to make a stand in a collapse.

The cabin in the woods is always a dream, but when fallout destroys your land for the next 1,000 years and you’ve got to move 2 years of preps in a hurry … well, nuff said.

My thoughts are leaning towards the fortified Mobile home which runs on alternative fuels.
Many negatives, but a few more positives to the theory. Any thoughts ?

        • Johnny Paycheck

Dude, I love this idea. And I’m not being sarcastic for a change.

Just be sure to equip it with a bunch of guns so it looks like you are heading to THE THUNDERDOME!!!

    • Do a bit of research on countries that have experienced similar collapses. Argentina and the Soviet Union come to mind. My wife is from Ukraine and she said the years after the collapse prices were extremely high and everyone, I mean everyone immediately went back to the land and farmed their own food. They no longer had the government to rely on. Its a different story for Americans though. In Eastern Europe, most families have whats called “dachas” or small plots of land to farm and go to relax. I have learned a ton… a wealth of knowledge on farming just from watching them. I now grow about 400 pounds of produce yearly in my backyard here in California. Neighbors enjoy the free food and Ive created a nice circle of neighbors this way.

  • Nexus

He is an investor, a smoke and mirrors man. Likes to make money on the way up and down. Just plotting another way to screw the weak minded out of their remaining savings. Bet he has shifted investments to gold, dry emergency foods and firearms manufactures. It’s in his interest to talk it down….mind you if it does implode gold cannot be eaten or drunk.

    • Lesser Fool

You’re wrong. Gold leaf can be eaten.

    • dph

I wouldn’t call preppers “weak minded”.
I might call people who take their prepping advice from Kiyosaki a bit misguided, though. One way or another, his only goal is to relieve you of some of your money. The guy is a born salesman. I was put off by this video and the slick bunch of salespeople included.

  • How Americans have changed since I lived there for three years in the mid to late fifties. I am so saddened by the march to the left I see from all the comments here.

Washington to Reagan, America collected 1 trillion in debt. Under Obama it is 4 trillion.

Democrats have failed. Socialism in the UK has failed. Communism in the USSR failed. And still the lemmings rush over the cliff.

Now, please don’t come to the conclusion that I am a Republican or a Conservative in the UK or you’d be entirely wrong.

    • Nexus

You show your lack of understanding – it has nothing to do with socialism. It is called ‘statisam’. That is where vested interests hijack the state for their own purposes. How else could you explain the rise of the banks that add nothing except steal value from everyone else and the ridiculously lowered tax rates on the already wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

I would suggest that the contrary is true as crude capitalism has always been a failure and will collapse but has taken us 40 years to find out. Our system of self interest and greed is devouring all of us and the planet.

      • Johnny Paycheck

The people out there who say this is not a failure of Capitalism because it is not “real Capitalism” are like the people who say that all those millions of people who died under Lenin, Stalin and Pol Pot were not victims of “real Marxism”.

ALL of the engineers of this collapse starting with that phony-baloney “Conservative” Reagan are devout disciples of The Church Of Milton Friedman and F.A. Hayek. That is, THEY ARE CAPITALISTS!

  • Davey Jones

Prep’n for 5 yrs, still prep’n, gonna keep on prep’n. Lately I have taken up again activities of my youth, catching Snapping Turtle(catfish hooks and milk jug bobber with gizzard/liver bait). Fishing for Catfish, and frog gig’n with 10ft pole with old timer 4 tine head-or using Brazillian .22 ammo that contains no powder and shoots the 20-grain lead bullet by ignition of the primer only(works great).

I am also on the lookout for some big rattlesnakes, going to skin’em, gut’em and cook that meat over medium heat.(lots of snakes this year, mostly copperheads though, thick as thieves they are)

    1 box of cornbread mix
    1/2 c egg whites
    Splash black pepper
1/2″ oil (depends on pan size)
cut off head, skin snake, clean out guts, chop up into 4 inch pieces, dip in batter and cornbread mix and skillet fry in plenty of oil. By campfire, you can put it on a skewer and lay on two forked sticks, turning slowly until ready. Goes great with french style green beans.(and beer 🙂

  • Smash the control machine

18He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

21At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

22“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

23Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

  • The Jig’s Up

Also, be sure to have several good cameras and lots of film. After the “Mad Max” times you can sell the film footage and photos to the History Channel.

    • Johnny Paycheck

I know. There will be some seriously cool vids to put on YouTube come collapse time.

  • kw

noone said we have a democracy. We have a representative republic. While I do agree wealth disparity is a problem, true democracy (or mob rule) is not the solution. Our founders chose a republic because they saw the democracies always failed. Our country became great prior to the progressive big government b.s. Individual responsibility and Judeo-Christian values made us great. Statism or oorporatism aren’t the answers. The current system will fall and the only question is what will replace it? Tyranny? a police state? World government? I hope we revert back to local and state rule and have the federal government diminished. “The bigger the govenment gets, the samller the indivdual becomes”

    • Dee

Wow, I finally found someone who understands the difference between a democracy and a republic! kw, you’re right, and in good company. If we don’t nurture the goose, how can it continue to lay golden eggs? We must stop condemning the rich. If you don’t want to be rich, that’s your choice. But when’s the last time you worked for someone who made less money than you? The rich employ others, and pay more taxes than all the middle class put together(top 5% pay half the income tax). Our equality is basedo n God-given rights, not how much money we make. If everyone makes the same amount of money, we are living in a socialistic society–the government runs your life–tells you how many children you can have and determines how much property you can own. If that’s what you want, go live in a socialist country. America was founded on the freedom to pursue happines, and the individual determines what makes him or her happy. I will prepare for the worst, but pray and work hard to turn our country around.

    • Troia

Judeo-Christian values as in Carter, yes.
Judeo-Christian values as in Maddoff, no.

      • Johnny Paycheck

Good one. I prefer the “Judeo-Christian” values of my man, Thomas Jefferson, i.e. Secularism.

  • Mainuh1

I have been prepped for ten years. You have to rotate your stores, maintain your weps and keep current at the range – just having firearms does not protect you. The economy has been raped by .gov, Wall Street and the Banksters. There is not much time left – the middle class is disappearing rapidly.

  • Jimminy

There are so many options today when it comes to food storage. I can’t imagine having wheat berries for breakfast day after day… Food storage is on top of my list this year. All the signs are there, we know the storm is coming…the question is just how long we have before it hits, what we’ve done to prepare ourselves for it and how bad it will be, and long it will last.

Visit to get your long term food storage. The food is great, the prices are low and they ship it right to
    your door.

    • Capt. Woodrow F. Call

One easy thing to do if you don’t have alot of room is make sure you have a grain mill. When you know time is running short haul ass to the feed store you can buy oat’s, corn and wheat seed & it will be a hell’ve lot cheaper. you can fill the back of an SUV with 500lb’s of grains for $150 @ todays prices. that’s alot of food to get you through a rough patch.

      • Zedge Hero

The number one seller at Sams Club for food on-line is a family of four food pack for one year. People know.

  • Kiyosaki and his team of financial experts are encouraging Americans to stock up on food, guns and precious metals….These are bad advice….yes stock up for food at least for a few weeks…..Yet my best advise is in Luke 12:24, Matthew 6:33, Matthew 6:19-20, but the most important of all….be saved John 6:29….Jesus is returning for His Church…..don’t be left behind

    • Johnny Paycheck

      Thank you for that.

  • joe doe

to prep or not to prep, that is the questions folks. That’s right: to prep or not to prep! I choose to prep!

  • OldPoop

    Three kinds of people.

    Wish they had been preppers.
Planning on taking what they will need from preppers.

I’m so sick of hearing about “preps”. They were mean to me in high school so why the HELL would I want to hang out with them when the world ends?

  • Trusting/depending on someone else is just destructive. We can only depend on ourselves. Those that dont will be the first to loose it.

You have a fine website here that I visit often.

Please keep scam artists like RK away from here.

People like him take what has already been said and then spout it like they came up with it themselves.

  • Do not hide the light

The Economic collapse facing the entire world is going to be much, much worse then Robert Kiyosaki can even imagine or write or speak.

I am thankful not only being blessed to read Michael’s writings daily, but equally and thoroughly blessed reading everyone’s comments.

Thank you all for sharing the truth you know and hold close to your hearts.

“Most of you here” are totally connected to reality and with each other in knowing, sensing and expecting what is to come.

All of you here have been blessed by God to be given the foresite to prepare, mentally physcially and most importantly spiritually. The very same way Noah and his family were blessed by God when he warned of impending destruction to mankind.

Only a handfull were saved by God, for the rest laughed and mocked Noah and Gods word. Yes, they were wiped out of existence.

We are going to be plunged into the darkest time in history that the world has ever known and it will be recorded as such.

Very soon those who survive these horrific conditions will tell of their experiences and it will be passed onto generation after generation, the horrors that has happened to this world.

Though quite a few of us here will not survive what is to come our faith and love for each other will keep us united in spirit.

Please people continue to pray for each other,
Now is not the time to scoff, but time to help the next person who needs help. Know that you all are truly blessed amongst many to know the truth, while many others will left in total darkness.
God bless you all and God speed to all of us.

Homogenous societies, like Sweden, can be successful in maintaining social order and equality due to its relatively small population with generous social benefits. America was a melting pot eighty years ago – now it is a salad bowl. People new to politics like Gary2 will blame Repubs for all perceived injustices – while righties will blame the Gary2’s of the world for their own injustices.

The combined ignorance of our society amazes me. The current state of affairs in America are exaserbated by the politicians who play the ignorant against one another. These are the birth pains. Good luck preparing…

    • JR

Oh, puh-leeze. Go to YouTube and search for Muslim no-go zones in Sweden. Malmo is particularly bad, many places where police, fire and ambulance can’t go, or go with armed guard.

      Leftism destroys everything it touches.

Don’t forget to mention that the sliver of those who hold most of the wealth/rewards also make all of the rules that the rest of us have to live under (excluding themselves, of course!). I just started using my first poisonous light bulbs last week! Yippy!

  • Steve

You have to constantly ask yourself “OK, the supermarkets are closed for SIXTY DAYS and I have to live on whatever I’ve got in my home. Do I have everything I need?”

Think about being without both SOAP and TOILET PAPER for 4 weeks. Disgusting!

Constantly ask yourself these questions. There is no guarantee that order will ever be restored and things will return to “normal”. You can’t be certain. You just don’t know!

  • josh

some days i feel like preparing is useless when i think of all the people that are not prepping that i care for, not enough food, let alone everything else that will be needed. there will be very sad times ahead.

    • DownWithLibs

You can’t discount the fact that they might be, but don’t want to advertise it to everyone. As I said before, I am finding out by accident about a lot of others around me who are preping. You just never know. Just be sure that you don’t become one of the desperate ones.

I know someone who’s been stocking up with food for the last 20 years, waiting for Armageddon to arrive….Tons of food 20 years old and counting..The sky hasn’t fallen yet…It makes great reading, but not reality…Bailouts, QE’s, Devaluations, more debt and deficits, more printing. These are the tools that will keep the financial world turning for the next century….

Here are some handy bumper stickers to cut out and use as circumstances warrant:

I ♥ MY DOG during an economic boom

    I ♠ MY DOG during a recession

    I ♣ MY DOG during a depression

I 8 MY DOG during an economic collapse

Between “I” and “MY” are a heart, spade, club, and the number eight in that order.

The idiotic remarks of Gary2 and The Beast put me off the rest. NONE of the GOP in the House voted for the outrageous spending done since the Democrats took control of the House in 2006!

If you want the kind of Socialism of Sweden, DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE BEHIND ON THE WAY OUT!

If you follow Kiyosaki and his jolly sycophants, you’re a day late and a dollar short. Given how prices are NOW, you should have your supplies ready and started rotating. You should also practice with your firearms by this time.

What Kiyosaki et. al. miss BIG TIME is that people need to focus on two things.

    1) An alternative career, one which will help you and your family survive, AS WELL AS help society, and even help society rebuild. This nugget was first proposed by Harry Browne (“How You Can Profit From The Monetary Crises,” 1974). Society is turning away from Wall Street, and is returning to Main Street. Those who have lots of gold and silver (i.e. George Soros), will not be able to buy very many people.

    2) More productive hobbies. With all of our modern “conveniences,” modern peoples in “advanced” societies are the most backward, because they think they can buy their way out. No so anymore! If you know how to make dough and bake bread, cultivate a vegetable garden, can, gunsmith, make footgear, and other useful arts; you are way ahead of your neighbors. You will also be a valuable member of your community, far more valuable than anyone with their precious money.

  • Kevin

The idea that people will manufacture things in abundance that they themselves cannot afford to purchase puts the entire system out of sync. Henry Ford understood the concept when he doubled the wage of his employees in the 1920s and stated, “If my employees cannot afford to buy my cars who can?”

Manufacturing has went to 50 cent slave labor and sold to $25 labor in the developed world. As more industry fled the purchasing power was maintained with debt. The bottom line is the greater number of 50 cent/hr labor manufacturing items the less the number of $25/hr labor to buy the items. Unfortunately the 50 cent / hr labor is in virtually an unlimited supply; It’s the “Bottomless pit of Asian Manpower” that was spoken about during the Korean war.

Lucky are those born in 1936. They were too young for Korea and too old for Vietnam. They hit the US workforce when very good jobs were in abundance. By the time the great industrial evisceration was arriving they had their wealth already made. I feel sorry for the 30 somethings with a mortgage and great family responsibilities.

  • This guy is no genius. Who doesn’t know a collapse is coming. The problem is, do we run and hide like cowards and hope for the best, or do we stand up lIk real Americans and face the threat. Prepartion is smart, but that’S only if you need to retreat to fight another day. Now where is our resolve to deal with our problems. We’ve been losing ground for 40 years becuase we’ve been playing defense. Not anymore. It’s time to go on offense. It’s time to stand up or prepare for austerity.

Buy guns, gold, silver and long term food? Keep cash on hand? Does he have any ideas for prepping that don’t involve spending a bunch of money?

No mention of becoming more involved in your community, planting gardens, or being able to do things for yourself, except shoot people. Sitting in your house for a year with your years supply of food is a strategy good for exactly one year, provided nothing unexpected happens.

Then they get into “higher tax brackets” and start talking about funding police departments. This is a sales pitch, and contains minimal value at all for people who actually look at history. It’s not how much gold you have, it’s how many friends and acquaintances, and what kind of reputation you have among them.

  • Okie Dan

I have been teaching a Sunday School class on the Book of Ruth. The second chapter of Ruth showed what it will take to build a society after a collapse of the economy. If by preparation, we mean creating our individual stockpiles to weather out the storm we will be colossal failures. If by preparation, we mean discovering what each of us has to offer and looking to one another for an alternative to living off of the bankster’s plan for the economy, then maybe we have a chance. A society built on lovingkindness and accepting responsibility for ourselves and our neighbors will face difficulties but survive. Holiness is not individualistic or selfish, it is expressed first in love God with all heart, soul, mind, and strength; and secondly in love of thy neighbor as thyself. That is preparation. The banksters’ system might collapse, but not truly Christian societies.

How come I don’t ever see anyone ever talking about stocking up on booze? That’s important. I have plenty of beer and liquor stashed away, just like I do food, medicine and toiletries. I also have bartering goods, and have started my own little store: knives, booze, ammo, flashlights, emergency whistles, pepper spray, Belgian chocolate, collapsible batons, etc.

But getting back to booze. It’s important to consider the role luxuries will play after you have done your homework and completed your necessities list. It’s one thing to merely survive…but part of surviving is not always knowing you are in survival mode. That is where luxuries will obviously come in. Booze, tobacco, chocolate, gum/candy, etc. should all play an important role in what you decide to store.

Also, put a few pounds on now. That extra fat will play a huge role in storing calories for the lean times that initially set the mood for a long survival haul.

Good luck to all, and God bless.

I see the shills are now on this site. The top one was scary, with truly one of the most EVIL comments I have read in a long time. Yeah, kicking Grandma off the ledge, medically speaking? The evil LEFTISTS are kicking a whole FREAKING generation of grandmothers off the ledge, as well as a whole generation of young women who will never become grandmothers because the leftists have bankrupted the country.

Has any shill ever lived under socialized medicine, as I have as a Canadian?

Regarding Sweden, I wouldnt recommend it since I live.there. Our first collapse was in the 90s. Everyones retirement got slashed. And austerity measures. Now, we are in the final stages of housing bubble. After that we collapse again. Already, people die because they dont get ambulances. Old sick people are encouraged to die because it costs less. No one has private savings because taxes are so high. I could go on…

As usual, plenty of comments based on TV/radio propaganda and not on facts. It was the Repubs under the Shrub who spent like crazy and raised the debt. The only thing conservatives are interested in is abortion, gays, and getting taxpayers to fund religious schools. The rest of us who aren’t filthy rich don’t count.

If this country was leftist and socialist, we’d be better off. Instead we get the Repubs who just love giving tax breaks to big business. It was a DEMOCRAT who kept trying to pass a bill to take away tax credits for corporations that outsource and it was REPUBLICANS who stopped it every time.

What we need now is more revenues for our coffers but the Repubs insist on tax cuts instead. Have tax cuts for the last 11 years created any jobs? The answer is NO.

Idiot uninformed Americans is why this country is so *********** up.

  • Tarnagh

The thing most concerning to me is the conventional wisdom that we should be preparing. Not because it isn’t true but because those that are hurting the most are least likely to be able to do any real preparing. Buying precious metals, stocking extra food, emergency supplies, guns, ammo … all of this takes money the majority of us don’t have.

It’s a horrible catch 22. Many of us have no money to spare because the economy is tanking. It’s precisely because the economy is tanking that we should prepare. If the choice is pay rent or prepare then you really haven’t got a choice.

Using myself as an example. I’ve never owned a gun, so now I would have to find the money to purchase one. Then ammo which is even more hard to come by in real quantity. Precious metal isn’t even a consideration, it’s flat impossible. I have a garden that won’t produce any kind of yield for another month. To make the most of it, I need a way to preserve it. Canning or freezing, I need to now buy materials to do this with. If freezing, I’d also need to buy a big freezer and hope things don’t get so pear shaped that we lose electricity.

I think that, sadly, for most of us this planning should have started a decade or more ago.

One thing for sure. Don’t forget to pack the can opener.

  • mondobeyondo

Interesting that Mr. Kiyosaki has changed his tune from “How to Become Wealthy” to “How to Survive”. Pretty significant in my view Looks like he’s “seen the light”. Better to spend what you have in order to survive in the days ahead – your wealth won’t buy you much if you’re dead. You can’t take it with you, as they say. But hey, you’ll have a nice, extravagant send-off! (a la Michael Jackson…)

Besides, what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

    • mondobeyondo

And great wealth is no guarantee of future prosperity, either. Rich Dad today, may mean Living in a Tent Dad three years from now. You see, there are these things called “irresponsibily” and “bankruptcy”…

    • Michael

      A very good question Mondo.

If it helps people, they could always prep first. Then, if they still have a part of them who believes that we could recover (don’t laugh, you never know!), then save cash and find some sound investments. Sort of the best of both worlds – you are covered either way. And as far as feeling that you may not be as prepped as you would like, when it hits the fan we will all be screwed. Misery does love company!

Solution is so simple! Lose the manchild messiah named Mohammed next election and confidence alone will cure the worlds ills. Also clean house of all wacked out libs from all govt. departments.

This makes sense. After all, for some time now our money hasn’t been worth the paper it is printed on. Only thing keeping it afloat is the faith that it is worth something. So we sweep Obama and his America hating cronies out of the White House and elect someone who will not be perfect but someone who the people have faith in, and I can see the job market open up some. Stranger things have happened!!!

  • Holger Schwab

Whats to moderate? I know reality sucks but at this time there is no tolerance of political correctness (liberal destruction of free speech).

  • Owen

OK, preppers, ask yourselves this one question: Are you prepared to meet your Maker? That time is drawing much closer for all of us than most realize. There is no more important step in life than preparing for that inevitable encounter. If you have not been saved by faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ who died that mankind might live with God in peace, blessed eternally, than you have not prepared well at all. Why spend your eternity regretting due diligence to this most central question of all, a future that any experiencing it would gladly trade to be back in this present evil age.

    • Candice

You’re right on it brother.People need to get their spiritual affairs in order first and then they should concern themselves with temporal affairs for the sake of physical survival. I’m all for temporal preparation in due diligence and wisdom, but I acknowledged about 11 years ago that I had to get my spiritual affairs in order by putting my faith in the death, burial, and resurrection in Jesus Christ to cleans me from my sins. Take care and God bless.

Michael, I appreciate your work on this blog. I look forward to reading it each day.

As my wife and I prepare for the days ahead we try to maintain a balance in our lives. Gardening, chickens, rabbits and we’ll start milking a cow in Aug. I have many beehives and have lots of guns from years of hunting. About the time we began looking at precious metals I began to realize that our preparations are not just for us but for sharing with others too. We have started getting to know our neighbors and have started trading services with each other. One evening over supper a neighbor told me he’s got an AK47 with 1500 rounds. I think we’ll put him in charge of security in our neighborhood. Another neighbor is well schooled in raising and butchering hogs. We’re fortunate to not have to prepare all alone. My 80 year old mother tells me that was common practice years ago for neighbors to join together in many preparations for harvest and food storage.

As I spoke to a gold dealer I learned my most valuable lesson. Being new to all things gold I asked how gold makes me secure. He responded that there is no security apart from God and His grace. My preparation grew tremendously that day. “when we reach the end of our hoarded resourses our Fathers full giving has only begun”.

May God bless you as you warn others.

    • Michael

Thank you Jake – you have made a lot of great points.

In the years ahead we will all need each other. Things are going to be really, really tough.

Why never anything on 911 truth? It’s central to the illegal invasions and economic collapse of the west. ps Not everyone knows the truth. Some doubt the official story, some think the gov.(pentagon) would never do something like that. It would be nice to get everyone on the same page.

Listening to the news tonight, I was informed that the USA will become insolvent on August 2, 2011. On that day we, as a nation, won’t be able to pay our bills.

Listened to most of Obama’s speech till he condoned the homosexual lifestyle and called it “good”. I was shocked. He calls himself a Christian! Angry, I went outside into the summer’s heat to mow the yard and calm down. God didn’t spare Sodom, why would He spare the USA? I fear for this unrighteous nation and it’s obviously unrighteous president.

I have only just discovered this blog and it makes interesting reading. I live in the UK and although there are many ‘preppers’ here too it is much, much more low key. It has to be in a country where privately held firearms are effectively banned (I do not know of anyone who has access to a firearm, even through a third party) and all other ‘projectile’ weapons and ‘blades’ (even knives!) are restricted. There would be no way to defend any stores / stashes, or even your home if you advertised the fact you were preppared. Personally I hope things don’t get to that stage here in the UK. I am hopeing that we will see more of the cooperation and community spirit that was seen during WW2 when, even as tens of thousands were being killed by carpet bombing by the nazis and entire British cities were levelled, people looked after each other and shared resources. Yes, there was rationing, yes there was homelessness, and yes there was great suffering, but to the best of my knowledge not many people turned on each other. I know that the US has never experienced carpet bombing of thier cities (I hope they never do), but I would hope that neighbours and communities would come together and support each other. Stand united or fall as individuals all together.

  • David

I know Robert First hand, been to his home, drank with him and know his wife and sister (who is a buddhist nun). He is not joking. he is prepping. He does see this as what will happen. He is hoping for the best and still training people to make money. but he is dead serious about the collapse coming.

    • Michael

Thank you for that information. It is good to hear that he is not just talking about it.

Can’t believe all the religious nutters who are thinking they’re gonna get beamed up on here. Ain’t gonna happen. We need to stop hunkering down for the apocalypse and start thinking Normandy. Here’s what another ‘religious nut’ had to say about the collapse of another empire of note:

However, this great undertaking was at last completed in seventy-two books. Of these, the first five refute those who fancy that the polytheistic worship is necessary in order to secure worldly prosperity, and that all these overwhelming calamities have befallen us in consequence of its prohibition. In the following five books I address myself to those who admit that such calamities have at all times attended, and will at all times attend, the human race, and that they constantly recur in forms more or less disastrous, varying only in the scenes, occasions, and persons on whom they light, but, while admitting this, maintain that the worship of the gods is advantageous for the life to come. But that no one might have occasion to say, that though I had refuted the tenets of other men, I had omitted to establish my own, I devote to this object the second part of this work, which comprises twelve books, although I have not scrupled, as occasion offered, either to advance my own opinions in the first ten books, or to demolish the arguments of my opponents in the last twelve. Of these twelve books, the first four contain an account of the origin of these two cities—the city of God, and the city of the world. The second four treat of their history or progress; the third and last four, of their deserved destinies. — Augustine, Retractions[1]

  • The concept that marriage equality, the concept that all men and ladies have access to the fundamental institution of marriage, is controversial is so bizarre to me. Civil marriage (the only kind of marriage recognised in our laws) is fundamental to American life. Permitting gays and lesbians to access this institution in the most honest techniques, doesn’t hurt the institution, rather it brings greater respect and reverence for the institution. They’re not asking for a brand new institution, special rights, or access to some thing novel. They are merely for asking for the identical respect and dignity afforded to the rest of us automatically. I raise my glass in celebration, Cheers.

    • Ian

most people have no problem with civil unions, it’s same sex marriage that is hot debating material.

This is FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE that I have observed:

I work part time at the local rare coin shop. Because of the uncertainty of our economic times we are in– some customers coming into the shop are scared to death of the dollar collapsing in value so they buy gold or silver coins/bullion and the others are scared that the price of bullion will go down so they sell—or they are just in urgent need of money. Keeps us busy either way. As precious metals rise in value the traffic gets more intense.

Some here say lay up your treasures in heaven and believe in Christ. Others say prepare. A wise man does both. If some one does not have their house in order when the collapse comes do not run in the streets crying why for all your faith you showed you are starving. God gave you a brain. USE it. Prepare.

    6. Get rid of grocery store ‘discount’ cards –grocery stores provide this information to insurance companies.
    7. Bank at a Credit Union, or any alternative to the ‘TBTF’ Banks, that participated in the 2008 Banker Bailout.
    8. Invest as much as you reasonably can in precious metals – especially silver.

Ben Dover is right . The financial meltdown of Greece , Ireland , Spain and the U.S.A., etc. , is because of the fraudulent speculation that corrupt politicians allowed to happen .
Central banks bribe politicians to take out massive loans for their countries infrastructure.
These loans can be manipulated in a variety of ways so that countries cannot pay them back. Then the bankers get to privatize public lands like parks , wildlife reserves etc. and drill for oil . Or they might start up an open pit mine in the centre of a sacred burial ground. The Central Bankers just want unlimited money and power over the world – that’s all

  • I love preppers

Here’s some important points that all preppers should be concerned about.

My prepper list is short and simple.

    1. Multiple CO2 fire extinguishers.
    2. Oxy acetylene cutting torch.
    3. Gas mask retrofitted with SCUB tanks.

The CO2 fire extinguishers are pumped into the air intakes of any underground survival shelters I find. The filtration systems in these shelters only remove particle agents from the intake air. CO2 will flow through because it is a gas, just like air. It is also odorless and tasteless, so it will go undetected by the survival nut hiding in the shelter.
After the survival nut starts playing the harp on the nearest cloud, the cutting torch opens the escape hatch that the survival nut used to enter the shelter.
The gas mask and SCUB tanks let me raid the supplies in the survival shelter at my leisure.

The above ground preppers are a bit more challenging.
Harass and hide techniques will keep them up day and night until they are too burnt out to think straight. Then torch the house in cover of darkness.
Shoot the preppers as they flee the burning house and then grab what you can before the fire gets to big. Or eat the preppers.

Day time techniques like the run away car trick is effective.
Attach a cord to the release lever on the drivers seat and run that through a hole in the door. Place a stick between the gas pedal and the seat. Start the car and put it in gear. Pull the cord and let the seat push the gas pedal to the floor. The car will become an effective battering ram that will go through most wooden walls.
I would love to see the look on the preppers face when they look outside to see what the sound is and there’s a car coming toward them at 100 mph.

It is not a matter of the survival of the fittest. It is the survival of the least squeamish and most ruthless. And just think. There will be a whole bunch of twisted bastards like me, with absolutely nothing to lose.

I live in California, and can state with absolute certainty, taxes cannot be increased at all because a revolt would take place. We’re getting taken to the cleaners now and the truth of the matter is that the ones who pay for all this largess get no benefit for the taxes they do pay. As a former police officer, 30 years ago while in college, in my view we don’t need any more cops. We need to use the ones we have more efficiently through the setting of reasonable priorities, and we need to reduce the size of most departments. Why? Police are a reactive force, not a preventive one. Where I live, police do little except issue traffic citatations and handle minor thefts. They are increasingly seen as revenue generators for city hall and not genuine police duties. In fact, we really don’t need most of these very much overpaid civil servants at all. The retirement benefits have broken California to the tune of one-half trillion dollars in unfunded liabilties. One fellow I served with years ago eventually became a motorcycle traffic sergeant. He retired and now gets $ 103,000 in retirement “pay”. He wasn’t worth $ 100 per day when this joker “worked” and now he gets a retirement plan like this that he didn’t pay a dime into? Come on now… Something has to give. Businesses are leaving this state massively to other states without such a tremendous tax and regulatory burden. Many are going out of business altogether. Do the bureaucrats care? Does the governor? No! He’s more concerned about satisfying corrupt public sector unions, illegal aliens and environmentalists rather than doing what is right to help make California a business-friendly state again. Illegal aliens alone cost us $ 10 – 15 billion per year! This cannot go on for long. Califormia is ungovernable as it is and it will fall just like Greece given time.

Though I am glad the Rich Dad Poor Dad folks are sounding the alarm, I remember very distinctly watching video’s of them talking about real estate and what not before they ‘changed’…I was prepping back then. For them, it is nothing that they can’t throw some of their vast fortunes at to take of quite quickly. For the rest of us it takes time

  • I think everyone should buy some gold and silver. You dont have to have huge amounts of money. Start with a few coins and just add to your collection when you can afford it.

  • Robert Kiyosaki was buying silver at less than $5 an ounce and gold when it was in 3 digits, he’s way ahead of the curve and I believe his opinion on precious metals carries some weight.
