Russia Is Going To Pass A Law Formally Dumping The U.S. Dollar

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Vladimir Putin 2015 - Public DomainRussian President Vladimir Putin has introduced legislation that would deal a tremendous blow to the U.S. dollar.  If Putin gets his way, and he almost certainly will, the U.S. dollar will be eliminated from trade between nations that belong to the Commonwealth of Independent States.  In addition to Russia, that list of countries includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.  Obviously this would not mean “the death of the dollar”, but it would be a very significant step toward the end of the era of the absolute dominance of the U.S. dollar.  Most people don’t realize this, but more U.S. dollars are actually used outside of the United States than are used inside this country.  If the rest of the planet decides to stop accumulating dollars, using them to trade with one another, and loaning them back to us at ultra-low interest rates, we are going to be in for a world of hurt.  Unfortunately for us, it is only a matter of time until that happens.

When I first read the following excerpt from a recent RT article, I was absolutely stunned…

Russian President Vladimir Putin has drafted a bill that aims to eliminate the US dollar and the euro from trade between CIS countries.

This means the creation of a single financial market between Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries of the former Soviet Union.

“This would help expand the use of national currencies in foreign trade payments and financial services and thus create preconditions for greater liquidity of domestic currency markets”, said a statement from Kremlin.

For a long time, tensions have been building between the United States and Russia over Syria, Ukraine, the price of oil and a whole host of other issues.  But I didn’t anticipate that things would get to this level quite yet.  It is expected that Putin’s new bill will become law, and this is only one element of a much larger trend that is now developing.

You see, the truth is that Russia and China have both been dumping dollar-denominated assets for months.  The following comes from a recent piece by Mac Slavo

Last year Russia began unloading massive amounts of their US dollar reserves. In the month of December 2014 alone Putin sold some 20% of the country’s U.S. Treasurys, a move that further increased tensions surrounding what can only be described as economic warfare between East and West.

Then, as if part of a coordinated effort, this summer it was revealed that China had implemented a similar strategy, dumping half a trillion in dollar denominated assets.

But that’s just the beginning of the end for the US dollar. Amid a major meltdown in Chinese stock markets the People’s Republic sold off billions in dollar assets last week in what was reported to be an effort to stabilize their collapsing financial markets.

And now, as Russia’s economy collapses under the weight of American and European sanctions, including what many believe to be widespread downward manipulation of oil prices, Vladimir Putin is sending a clear signal to the central bank of the world’s reserve currency.

China has the second largest economy on the entire planet, and Russia has the tenth largest.  In recent years, these two superpowers have become much tighter.  For example, just consider this headline from Sputnik News that I came across just today: “Crippling US Foreign Policy Draws Russia, China Closer Together“.

And I don’t know if you have noticed, but U.S. relations with China have turned rather sour lately.  Lots of accusations about spying and trade violations have been flying around, and just this week five Chinese warships were spotted off the coast of Alaska.  In the months ahead, expect our relationship with China to continue to unravel.

If China and Russia were to both fundamentally reject the U.S. dollar at some point, much of the rest of the world may choose to follow suit.

So why is that important?

The fact that most of the nations of the world use our dollars to trade with one another creates a tremendous amount of artificial demand for our currency.  In other words, the U.S. dollar is valued much higher than it otherwise would be just because it is the de facto reserve currency of the planet.

As a result, we can import massive amounts of products at super cheap prices.  When we go to Wal-Mart or the dollar store, we can fill up our carts with lots and lots of ridiculously inexpensive stuff.  Our standard of living is way higher than it actually should be.

And because the U.S. dollar is used so widely in global trade, major exporting nations end up with giant piles of our currency which they have been willing to lend back to us at ultra-low interest rates.  This has made it possible to fund our massively bloated federal government and to go 18 trillion dollars in debt.

If the rest of the world stops using our dollars and stops playing our game, we will be in a tremendous amount of trouble.  The cost of imported products would absolutely skyrocket and our standard of living would go way down.

In addition, the federal government (along with state and local governments) would have to pay much more to borrow money which would rapidly create a gigantic debt crisis.

So Russia knows where they could really hurt us.  Most of the “power” that America currently projects around the world is based on having the de facto reserve currency of the planet.  If you take our financial power away, we would be far, far less imposing on the global stage.  Sadly, the truth is that the U.S. military is rapidly shrinking and has largely been defanged by the Obama administration.

A lot of people that will read this article will not understand this, but it is very, very important to keep an eye on this emerging Russian/Chinese alliance.  I believe that it is going to play a critical role in world events during the years ahead.

So do you agree with me or do you disagree?  Please feel free to join the discussion by posting a comment below…

Hey, Mike – you got change for a 20,000 Yuan?

  • GetReal4U2

Both China and Russia want America destroyed…obummer has almost completed the job…get ready for the “peace” plan to split Israel and Jerusalem…time is very short…

    • Harbinger

I agree time is very short. The more I watch Obama the more I am convinced his goal is to destroy this country. Nothing he does makes any sense, yet their are still individuals who think he can do no wrong. When you have so many ‘give me’ programs sanctioned by the federal government it is obvious you are just trying to control and appease the masses. “The American Republic will endure until the day congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the publics money.”

      • lucy

Saw a bumper sticker today that read “I support president obama”….it’s SO scary when you think of all the blind support and lack of real facts out there…

        • Harbinger

I not sure if they are blind or if they can just relate to him. Just like Hillary, how can 45% of the people polled have a favorable impression of her? I guess if your a liar and lack moral integrity then of course you will have a favorable impression of her, because you can relate.

          • Hussanatu

I disagree that the majority of Hillary supporters are immoral liars. The problem is we have a largely uneducated and misinformed population (and by uneducated I mean people who simply do not keep up on current affairs or think for themselves). Those are the people who will continue to support and vote for the candidates who keep the gravy train coming!

          • Harbinger

I will accept your argument: however, birds a feather flock together and when someone has a favorable impression of Hillary I can’t help but wonder if it is simply because they can relate to her and see nothing wrong with her behavior.

        • Mike Smithy

I saw a great bumper sticker yesterday that read: “Hillary for Prison, 2016″. I gotta get one.

        • autofixer

People supported their Fuhrer right up to the last day in Berlin, 1945.

          • Orac4Prez

Hey, There are still plenty of people who LOVE Hitler and not just skinheads in Germany.

Plenty of people think the US is dominated by corrupt corporations being aided and abetted by rich politicians who “don’t give a damn” about democracy. So if you say you are for the little person, a lot of people will vote for you. Many idolize Obama in part because they feel he relates to the oppressed and minorities, and believe the US should change the law so he can have another term in Office. And there are a lot of woman who think poor Hillary definitely deserves being in the limelight at the White House. They believe she WILL improve the lot of women and their rights!

          • sunshine

Those people actually know what Hitler was about, they don’t get all their info from Chosen controlled media. I’ve yet to meet one person that hates Hitler, that’s ever read Mein Kampf.

          • Rick

And guess who was forced to pitch in and help with the clean up of all the dead bodies in the concentration camps? Life was not pleasant for the ostriches in Germany after the liberation. It won’t be for liberals here either.

        • Rick

Real facts, and money (even perceived money by the useful idiots), rarely make good bed partners.

        • Gay Veteran

Saw a bumper sticker some years that read “I support president bush”….it’s SO scary when you think of all the blind support and lack of real facts out there…

          • Tony Auby

Yes, Bush and O are two sides of the same progressive socialist coin, only one knows it more than the other. So relax, its gov’t, not party.

          • Gay Veteran

            the same fascist coin

When you start with the premise that President Zero’s goal is to undermine the USA, then his actions make perfect sense.

If that is the case, then his last year might be a doozy!

The puppets Obama, bush, Clinton have over 700 hand selected advisors. And did I mention un-elected too? The advisors are from the think tanks, CIA, Mossad and such. They are diabolical and they hate our Constitution. They make the policy. And the presidential puppets don’t defecate without their permission. They hold 90% of congress by blackmail from their past. So everyone falls to their marching orders. Obama is nothing to them. Believe me.

      • Brit

It’s sad to witness, but if the administration ‘gives’ to the people, the administration wins. Every time. They cater to those lacking skill and knowledge, unwilling or unable to exemplify any means of adaptation, effectively nullifying Darwinism at such a crucial time.

“You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left or right. Well I’d like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There’s only an up or down—[up] man’s old-aged dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. And regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.”

      • none

Maybe he could talk about the possibility of a nuclear power plant. Melting down in the Ucrran? Since the Russians have fifteen of them in the area.
President Obama has been a great help to our country, hasn’t he.

      • MichellfromTheEconomicCollapse

0bama is evil. He hates America and what it stands for. I can’t believe people still support him

    • tacoma

‘China and Russia want America destroyed…” They are not that stupid. There’re a lot of good stuff they can gain from America. Just that America is doing a fine job destroying itself. They are helping to slow it down.

    • MeMadMax

GO FOR IT! THE SOONER THE BETTER! I’m ready! This is the time for Darwin’s theory to separate the weak from the strong which has been delayed for SO LONG!!!! I’m ready! Are you?!?!?!?!????

    • Richard

Nonsense. They just want America out of their hair… to stay away… to keep its nose out of their affairs… to mind their own business. You give yourself much too much importance (“…want America destroyed”) Puhleeze!! That’s your excuse to be aggressive with them, isn’t it? Trouble is, it’s BS… and you know it.

      • Cicero

Someone get this man a cigar!

    • AzDi

Obama is in bed with these countries as witnessed with his IRAN deal. Obama hates America and has done everything to destroy our country.

      • alan

I think there is more to the Iran deal than we see.

    • Fiona

I disagree. China has no benefits from a destroyed America. They may want to weaken the USA to ensure their own foreign policies, but they will never wanna see us bankrupt. You forgot, that we’re the most important trade partner of China and trading is what China’s economy fundamentally is based on. Maybe Russia want’s to see us burn, but China won’t.

      • Mike Smithy

I disagree. Exporting cheap plastic crap to the USA while destroying our manufacturing base was a means to an end. The Chi-Com’s are now dumping their U.S. Treasuries and are using the proceeds to purchase Precious Metals (PM’s) in a big way. They will likely now focus their attention on popping up domestic consumption via their manufacturing base. It is conceivable that the Yuan will replace the USD as the world’s reserve currency. In addition, the Chi-Com’s are building up their naval fleet and out pacing the U.S. Navy on a 5 to 1 basis. We recently saw the Chi-Com’s demonstrate their military prowess by sailing 5 warships off the coast of Alaska.

        • HA-HA!

Nope, the dollar as the international trade reserve is what destroyed manufacture by destroying its profits. Only by making things cheap and moving manufacture out of the System could it survive.

The change of the dollar status = deindustrialization.

      • HA-HA!

        Nope.

China´s main trade is with countries of Africa, South America to get the ressources they need for their industry.
The federal dollar parasites on that.

      • alan

I think you are right. Everyone needs trading partners, a dead partner is no good to anyone.

    • HA-HA!

It is not them who brought about Common Core and Hollywood.

You care more about israel´s borders than that of your own country?

    • Gay Veteran

“Both China and Russia want America destroyed….”

NO, but they do want the U.S. to stop acting like the sole global hegemon

      • Harbinger

America will destroy itself. We have abandoned everything our forefathers fought so hard to establish. When you condone the murder of children under the guise of abortion, you are wrong. When you condone marriage between same sex individuals, you are wrong. When you legalize marijuana, you are wrong. When you allow people so sue one another over frivolous torts, you are wrong. We as a country have abandoned common sense and still have no idea why everything we do continues to fail.

        • Gay Veteran

“…When you condone the murder of children under the guise of abortion, you are wrong. When you condone marriage between same sex individuals, you are wrong. When you legalize marijuana, you are wrong….”

wow, that’s quite a list, guess you’d rather have Big Government telling people what to do
btw Einstein, how well did Prohibition work?

          • Harbinger

Big government is already telling us what to do and what to believe. There is no anger or judgment in my words, all there is, is truth. If it offends you then you may want to ask yourself why the truth is offensive.

          • Gay Veteran

the truth is that you want Big Government telling people how to live their lives.

now again, how well did Prohibition work?

          • Harbinger

Reading all your post you can see that you have a chip on your shoulder. I accept your theory but reject your premise. Prohibition was never intended to work rather it was designed to allow the government to tax the sale of liquor. A little knowledge without understanding is dangerious for anyone, especially for those who either are unwilling or cannot see the truth, either way your opinion is noted.

          • Gay Veteran

how was liquor taxed during Prohibition when the sale of liquor was illlegal?
if government wants to tax something they make it legal (like marijuana)

          • GSOB

            A turning point.

          • Gay Veteran

precisely, they couldn’t win and all Prohibition did (and does with drugs) is produce crime and corruption and an increase in the government’s power

        • Hussanatu

Agreed. How can this ship ever right itself when there are no longer absolutes and morality is now widely considered relative?

          • Harbinger

Great question, unfortunately there is no easy answer. Again the only thing we learn from history is that we do not learn from history.

      • GSOB

Some government has to do it, … I hope you understand.

        • Gay Veteran

          BS

      • alan

        We are exceptional!

        • Gay Veteran

yes, exceptionally evil with our wars of aggression.
oh but I forget, wars of aggression don’t involve genitalia so a lot of people here don’t care

    • naner

Both China and Russia and their leaders all work together with Obama and the US. They are all in on this ppan. This play, this stage, the charade and illusion they put on the world stage and media is all fake. It is like professional wrestling, they are ennis on screen and best friends behind closed doors. Even the alternative media seems to forget this. They all sold their people out. Obama is a puppet and there is a shadow government beyond Obama and nation leaders.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

With Russia in a recession, and Chinese markets plunging, it doesn’t help them to shoot themselves in the foot by creating difficulties with their main trading partners and our allies. If they are dumping financial instruments, it is more likely because they need to vs they prefer to.

    • http://khanneasunztu.wordpress.com/ KhanneaSuntzu

      Nonsense.

  • Alwaystomorrow

The Economic Collapse Blog Has Issued A RED ALERT For The Last Six Months Of 2015.

    Published 6/25/2015.

    121 days until 12/31/2015.

Lets do a count down every day until the end of 2015 and see just what happens.

    ——————————————————————————

    By Michael S, on July 31st, 2015.

“And I kind of appreciate the countdown. It reminds people of my warning,
and perhaps it will give some readers a renewed sense of urgency.”

    • Alwaystomorrow

Even though most everyone here seemed to dislike fwalker15, I respected his knowledge. I respected his ideas of where silver is heading in the next 2 years enough that I bought 1000, 1oz. bars of silver today.

I could care less about it for anything other than making some quick (year or two) cash.

      9-2-2015 @ $15.27 oz.

      We will see what happens.

      • GoldenGirl

I for one, do not dislike fwalker15. He has always responded to my questions, even though I am far below his level of understanding regarding the markets. And that’s a whole lotta silver! But I am of the same opinion. Don’t throw out your back lifting it all at once. :)

        • Alwaystomorrow

I understand him even less than you did but my impression is he is knowledgeable and he was quick to respond to my questions.

Will my decision pay off? Time will tell.

As far as throwing out my back, I will tell my wife to use her legs and not her back when lifting. :-)

          • GoldenGirl

            What a guy! :)

        • jaxon64

It is all perspective isn’t it? To some, 1000 oz’s of silver is ” a whole lotta silver”.. yet for others an 80% jump in value to say $25 an oz by 2018 is a whopping $10,000 profit in 2 years…or what most middle class americans gross pay on average in a month–
If he REALLY had faith in mister walker’s financial prowess, then invest some REAL assets and see some true returns on RISK.
I’m sorry if this sounds harsh– but true stackers I know have been buying 100 oz’s a month for years with a few 1/4 oz AU GAE’s here and there as well. A return to $30 or greater will see six figure profits–now we’re talking dividends.
PS: 1000 oz’s is a really nice start to a diversified portfolio that has some physical PM’s in it–congrats AT…and keep stacking ( and that is only 50 tubes of ASE’s–takes up less space than a case of water in case anyone was wondering.)

          • Alwaystomorrow

I am not a “true stacker”. This to me is just something to play with. If the value goes to $0 then I can live with that.

I have$15,500 worth of faith in Mr Walker. No more

Thanks for the concern I assure you I will be fine in retirement.

          • Guest

This blog isn’t about you. We don’t care about your retirement and silver. Or if you own planes, trains and boats. Even if it’s true. Stick to The topic.

          • Alwaystomorrow

            Sorry Sir / Ma’am.

          • MichellfromTheEconomicCollapse

How about I decide if something is “off topic”

          • GoldenGirl

Oh please. It was a joke. A light hearted comment. Nothing more.

      • G21

You mean you “couldn’t” care less…
Anyway, since you respect his opinion, you bought the wrong thing. You should have gotten into stocks – or, if you already are in stocks, you should have gotten more.

What? You don’t believe a crash is coming, do you?

        • Alwaystomorrow

I changed could to couldn’t. Thanks.

You may be right that I bought the wrong thing. Time will tell.

As I said, I am looking to make a profit I honestly am not concerned about a crash. It could happen but I am sleeping well.

        • MichellfromTheEconomicCollapse

          Must you correct everyone?

      • CASTIEL

you and him are not seeing the big picture….that crash is only something that will trigger bigger consequences…is not the fact of some persons make a lot of money in these days but the fact that we are living a situation that cannot be solved

        • Alwaystomorrow

This has nothing to do with “a big picture” it is only toying around to see if I can make a few dollars. Nothing more.

          • CASTIEL

we can always make some money thats true….things are not so critical….yet…i do not see this economic crisis something where everything collapse and we are shooting everyone for food….but what could trigger this financial crisis between the superpowers of this planet…..and yes war is something we must fear.Doing a countdown its for me like making fun of this situation thats is becoming very dangerous dont you think?

      • Mike Smithy

Where did you find physical silver $15.27 per oz?

        • Alwaystomorrow

          Northest Territorial Mint.

I have perchased and sold Krugerrands to them in the past. Delivery was slow but I did not care.

The U.S. military is rapidly shrinking and has largely been defanged by the Obama administration? Really? We currently spend more on defense than the next 7 countries combined.
Defense spending accounts for almost 20 percent of all federal spending —
nearly as much as Social Security, or the combined spending for
Medicare and Medicaid So how is Obama Defanging the military?

    • Harbinger

Our military has become a paper tiger under Obama. Until politicians quit trying to dictate how the mitary fights and allows the generals to do their job, our military will continue to be a paper tiger. We are so far over extended that we cannot afford another war.

      • Gay Veteran

paper tiger, eh? tell that to the people we murder around the planet

    • G21

Without intending to be rude to you, either you’re oblivious or just dumb.
You need to look up how much of the Defense budget Hussein has cut since he took office.

      • MichellfromTheEconomicCollapse

Intend to or not, you are rude.

      • Gay Veteran

cut the Pentagon budget by 50% and it would not matter

Money spent is not what counts since we pay our service personnel far more than other countries…most of which have drafted armies. GDP wise we’re spending less money than we did before WW2. We spent 10% of GDP on defense in 1960 – about 3x what we spend today.

China has been trying to get the IMF to include the yuan in its SDR. If the yuan is included in this special drawing rights it will increase the power of the yuan. Both Russia and China are part of BRICS an alternative to the west’s banking system.

Recent articles indicate Russia is planning to send its military to Syria. The wars in the ME have been about the US effort to block oil and gas pipeline crossing from Iran into Turkey. The US is supporting Saudia Aribia and Russia is supporting Iran.

Remember his “fundamentally transform the United States” speech? When he’s done – the United States of American WILL be a third world country.

When (not if) Russia, CIS, China, and their trading partners dump the U.S. dollar within their trades, blame not them.

    Blame the U.S. of A.

The world was quite OK using the dollar since WW2, for a long 70 years. That might continue if not for U.S. action that resulted in 2008 bank crash, trillions of deficit financing, numerous QEs, continued wars of hot and cold aggression all over the world.

And now the U.S. has started Cold War 2 with Russia. It is on track to start Cold War 3 with China over some islands. [China’s today Victory over Japan military celebration is designed to send a message to Uncle Sam: Bring it on.] Soon the Pentagon will send combat forces into Ukraine to help the fascist-backed Kiev government fight the rebels in its civil war. This will draw Russian forces in – because any foreign forces into its border and former territory constitutes a direct threat requiring national response. [What would the U.S. do if Russia send forces into Alaska?]

To top it off, the U.S. has also started an oil price war with Saudi Arabia and OPEC over its vast shale oil productions that’s bigger than Saudi!. This has resulted in dramatic oil price crash. Who will win? Well, U.S. shale oil producers will face total bankruptcy under $30-$40 oil. The federal government will come in to bail them out, nationalize them. But do you know what this mean?

It means Saudi Arabia and OPEC will drop the U.S. dollar for oil transactions. End of petrodollar. Blame who?

You know, I am almost convinced that the decline of America will trigger World War 3. The real thing.

A little further message perhaps?

    • Mike Smithy

BINGO. Their actions are sending a message to the western central banksters and their western puppet governments.

All the major socioeconomic issues and events taking place the world over are (in general) directly and indirectly SYMPTOMS of the decadent and decaying world-wide Capitalist economic system – which is now at a “dead end” and is now NO longer able to generate long-term recovery by economic means alone.

Capitalism is facing an ongoing crisis (mainly due to reaching a stage of general over-production) from since late-60s/early-70s – which was the end of the “reconstruction boom” following WW-II and at a time when most of the other (leading) Capitalist countries began to “catch up” to the USA and compete for a bigger/better share of the LIMITED World’s “economic pie”.

Ultimately, the world-wide Capitalist system is NOT sustainable, and the system will continue on a relentless general slow grind decline towards total socioeconomic collapse/chaos and/or WW-III (i.e. the “end-of-days”).

    • GSOB

Michael, or someone with an economic brain, can you please explain this following line of reasoning.
If the rest of the world is using more American dollars than what is being used inside America, and if those countries stop using those American dollars than can they not be recalled back to the USA and then used to pay off the debt ?
Please explain whether this is right or not.

    • Someone

One way dollars are being “recalled” is foreigners are buying up a ton of prime US real estate. This is one of the best ways for, say a Chinese businessman, to get rid of US dollars. This is bad because it 1) inflates real estate prices for Americans when they have to compete with foreigners who are buying properties with cash and 2) once acquired, they rent out said properties and wealth flow directly overseas to the new owners.

      • alan

Plus all the money being pulled out of the markets going into real estate doesn’t help either.

However…that is not happening in the South.

But what is the problem in other countries stop using the American dollar? I live in Brazil and my country has been suffering a lot for years and years. What is the problem if you Americans cannot buy products at a very low price? We, here in Brazil have been buying products at a very high price all our lives? We have survived all that and so will you. Do not worry. I am not agisnt you Americans. But I think it would be good if the BRIC succeded in bringing some prosperity to my country.

    • Nemnor

What is “wrong’ is that capitalism can only allow for a FEW countries (example, G7/8) to be truly prosperous, while the rest of the World must remain at a (much) lower standard of living.

Capitalism can NOT (and would not) allow for “everyone” to be truly prosperous, as it is a system based on the exploitation of man by man and country by country, with a FEW (“the 1%”) living the really abundant life, while more and more people sink below the poverty line. This is the true nature and essence of the Capitalist economic system (“free market” or not).

      • Enrique Scarpa

Yes. You are right. But the US has been taken advantage of that for centuries by exploiting other countries and ruling the world both militarily and economically. That is why everyone wants to go to the US t work there in order to have a higher standard of living.
And the American people say that they are illegal imigrants. The only legal people in the US are the indians.

A little perspective … Imagine a poker game with China, the USA, and others. USA is losing to China – so to keep the game going (and keep selling their goods to us) – China loans money to the USA. which promptly provides an IOU. (18T in debt + unfunded liabilities) The “game” goes on until the players realize that USA IOU’s aren’t worth the paper their written on. They pick up their chips – Game Over.

    • fwalker15

A colorful story if you exclude the fact that in the 2008 poker game where China “won” nearly one quadrillion in the “game” (include debt service costs and for all intents and purposes may as well be infinity) until Bush speech “we will not allow our prosperity to be destroyed” and Morgan Stanley stock immediately stopped “falling” and markets found a tradable low and still to date no “game over” no end of civilization…just vitamins piling up by those in fear while others benefit by markets “recovery” process.

    • goldminer

The game’s not over till the USA kicks over the table and shoots all the players…….Game over for everybody.

  • Horiboyable .

    From Ayn Rand, The Meaning Of Money;

Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying gold money, for it is man’s protection, and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold is an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper money is mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by guns aimed at those who are expected to produce. Paper money is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked: “account overdrawn”.

When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect them to stay moral and to become fodder for the immoral. Do not expect them to produce when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask who is destroying the world. You are.#####

Generally all of you are right about what’s happening and what it will probably lead to in terms of economic collapse and war. But you all are forgetting the most important part of the equation.
This is what THEY want and have planned for it. And when I say They, I do mean the U.S., Russia, and China; at least the important players.
Everything they are doing will bring financial ruin, death and despair. but guess who’ll end up on top?
I for one welcome the breakdown of the current system. As many have pointed out, it is inherently evil and parasitic.
THEY will use the crisis to consolidate even more power, but not if don’t comply with their orders to prey upon each other in our time of manufactured turmoil and upheaval.
Do not enlist in the military or police, do not take sides as peoples of different backgrounds, and do not do the work of evil politicians who will no doubt paint someone else as the enemy. Do not try to profit from the miseries of others, and do not try to keep in place a lego/disney version of reality. It is plastic, it is fake, and as we now know, it is unsustainable. Just refuse to be the guard at the concentration camp and there will be no concentration camps. If we just stay true to our fundamental good nature, WE will win.

  • DJohn1

Then all of these countries should refuse getting any foreign assistance from us in dollars.
Maybe they can ask for Russian currency or Chinese currency instead.
Oh, I forgot, they just devalued Chinese currency so it is worth a whole lot less than it was a few weeks ago.
Sounds like we could benefit by placing the dollars for use elsewhere.
South Korea went broke in the 60s. They devalued their currency by a factor of 10 to 1. Meaning 10 was worth 1 in the “new” currency.
That would be like a 10 dollar bill being now used as a 1 dollar bill. A dime becoming the new cent.
    This is assuming too much.
We are supporting a charity that died around 1955. That charity being foreign aid to nations all over the planet. Sort of like the UN Agenda 2030. Only everyone deals in dollars because that is what they have to spend that is worth anything on the international market.
Most of the local currencies are worthless, backed up by a printing press rather than any substantial resource. That includes our own. The FED controls the dollar not the Congress or the President. That also is basically illegal.
No one likes us. No one really cares. What they do care about is their own selfish needs. As long as those needs are supplied by an endless supply of foreign aid and in dollars then we are stuck with being the world’s banker.
Why would we even do this in the current world economy?
Well, being banker means we control a whole lot of resources.
I think we need to re-think foreign aid everywhere.
I don’t want us to be the world currency at the cost of trillions of our dollars worth of resources.
The other resource we supply is bases all over the world protecting the entire world against any one dictator’s agenda.
These nations get this free of charge.
Now over many years since 1945, I think we need to rethink that whole business scheme and start over.
I want to bring all the troops home.
I want a stable currency that does not inflate or deflate on a whim.
I want Antitrust legislation that applies to all people everywhere. If not, then throw the laws off the books and untie the hands of our manufacturers to co-operate in putting together new products like automobiles that are cheaper than anyone else can make and engineered with good old fashioned yankee engineering to last a long time.
Compete with the rest of the world. Not allow a bunch of Chinese, Indian(India), Taiwan, and South Korean thieves to take our jobs and our manufacturing out of the USA.
I believe long term in tariffs. We need protection against poverty stricken countries stealing our jobs.
Take the money from foreign aid and upgrade social security, medical insurance for everyone, and scholarships that put a whole bunch of new doctors out there. If a person wants to devote himself to medicine and has the ability, put them through the necessary schooling for free and give them a living wage while they do it. Then flood the market with good doctors.
If a nation feels they have to have our protection, charge them for it.
Follow the banking practices of successful banking nations like Switzerland and make our laws conform to it like they have.
Russia is right about one thing. We need to reform our entire economic system and get rid of the enormous number of parasites dependent on the current system.

    • Gay Veteran

“…The other resource we supply is bases all over the world protecting the entire world against any one dictator’s agenda…..”

    • Nemnor

DJohn1, what you fail to understand is that, the major socioeconomic issues facing the USA and the World is rooted in the fact that US (and world-wide) Capitalism is now decadent and decaying, and there is no going back to what you imagine to be “free market” Capitalism. That is was indeed Capitalism of the past (“free market” or not) that naturally and inevitably decayed into it’s current decadent stage.

You fail to realize that US (and world-wide) Capitalism is ultimately unsustainable, and is now a defunct/out-dated mode of production, and would NOT be able to carry the Human Race into the (distant) future with TRUE abundance directly accessible to all. That the only permanent solution is to dismantle Capitalism (through a transitory period) and build a new system that is NOT based on production for “profits”, but rather, production to meet the genuine needs of the “rational” individual (as the primary end-purpose of production), and in accordance with what is required to sustain the environment.

“build a new system that is NOT based on production for “profits”, but rather, production to meet the genuine needs of the “rational” individual (as the primary end-purpose of production), and in accordance with what is required to sustain the environment.”

GSOB, I am (supremely) confident that, IF you are blessed by “God” (or “the Universe”?) to live long enough, you will come to understand and agree with all or most of what I advocate (and assuming that Capitalism does not destroy ALL of us with WW-III). And the main thing I advocate is that the real and permanent solution for the World begins with dismantling Capitalism, and building a new system in which goods and services are produced to abundantly meet the genuine needs of the “rational” individual (as the primary end-purpose of production), and in accordance with what is required to sustain the environment.

This means that, in this new system, “profits” can only be a secondary motive for producing things (and probably with the “profit” motive done away with all together (eventually) – according to the moral preparedness and ‘spiritual’ enlightenment of the Human Race).

          • Michael Anthony

Doing away with the profit motive is the solution to most of mankind’s miseries. The Zeitgeist Movement is such an effort.

Special (even exceptional) cases like Switzerland are not truly sustainable. Even relatively “poor” Cuba (which is a form of state/collective Capitalism) is, in the end, more “sustainable” and “self-sufficient” than Switzerland. You see, part of the economic “strength/wealth” of Switzerland is due to Switzerland successfully presenting itself as a “neutral” country – in which the “Super Wealthy” people of the World (i.e. “the 1%” – which includes Drug Lords and brutal Dictators) can “safely” bank the millions/billions they stole (“sucked” away) from the mass of the peoples of the World. The “sustainability” of Switzerland is clearly linked to how it positioned itslef as part of world-wide Capitalist system. Consequently, as world-wide Capitalism continues on it’s relentless decline, Switzerland must eventually make the choice and transform to a genuinely sustainable system (which means dismantling Capitalism, totally), OR, sink into total socioeconomic collapse/chaos and/or war with the rest of world-wide Capitalism.

Switzerland saw a market and used it. The fact that they are in a mountainous country easily defended on the ground helped.
The facts are that most dictators need Switzerland or someplace like it as an escape parachute. So all those petrodollars find their way to Switzerland as do the entire Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. That is billions of dollars in business for Switzerland.
The chief enemy of this plan is the United States Internal Revenue Service. They have succeeded in Switzerland not wanting to deal with us for that reason.
So those rich folk going to Switzerland give up U.S. Citizenship so they are not within the target range.
IF I did have money it would be in Swiss currency under a different citizenship than the one here.
I find the entire agency is a dinosaur under the current circumstances.
Whomever takes over will find they are going to have to dismantle agencies right and left in the years to come.
For one thiing, IRS has been used against the TEA party for political purposes and that is definitely a no-no.

        • DJohn1

I do not feel that any alternative to capitalism will succeed.
Pure Capitalism reflects nature’s elimination methods. Competition is the main reason it has survived.
The reason we are failing is the built in welfare system our government has chosen to follow, thus changing the rules by which capitalism works.
If company A chooses to increase prices and thus lower profits, soon company A will be out of business.
Company B in competition will drive the prices back down.
What I object to is Company A and Company B conspiring to jointly raising the price on market items thus bypassing competition.
I have seen a lot of that raising of prices recently in both grocery items and retail items in the stores.
Meantime people in government ignore it. That is what is wrong with capitalism as we know it.

          • Nemnor

DJohn1, what you missed is what is “compeling” Company A and B to “collude”. In Capitalism, over-production is the main thing (“force”) that really drives prices down. In order to “survive” (to stay in business or to make the profits they aim for) company A and B see it as a “logical” step to work “together” to keep prices up – and their action is also within the sphere of “free market” – i.e. the freedom to arrange to get the “best” price you can get for you products/services.

It is all still “free enterprise” Capitalism in which company A and B feel “compeled” to do as they do, to get the “best” price for their products (or at least, get enough to stay in business).

      • Nemnor

G21, even WITHOUT any “prophecy” from any book, one can clearly see the most likely future of the World under Capitalism, by understanding the true nature and the true history of the Capitalist economic system.

By understanding that Capitalism (like Slavery and Feudalism, before it) is an economic system based upon the exploitation of man by man and country by country (and US history shows that Capitalism would even contain, condone and USE “raw” Slavery to meet the profit “needs” of the Capitalists!!), it would be clear to you that unemployment, social unrests and WAR are all INHERENT characteristics of Capitalism. (right?)

Consequently, the future of the World under Capitalism is (eventually) total socioeconomic collapse/chaos and/or WW-III (for the same/similar reasons Capitalism brought about WW-I and WW-II). And, again, no need for “prophecy”, to foresee what will (most likely) happen, IF one observes the true history and nature of Capitalism.

        • G21

This is generally how the “truth’ is. The “truth” normally NEVER changes (the “truth” can indeed be “monotonous” – while the LIES change ever so often and are very ATTRACTIVE to the gullible and the pretenders).

For example, many Americans PRETEND that the root of the issue in the USA is the Government, and/or the Feds and/or corrupt politicians and/or corrupt corporate bosses, and they refuse to see that the main root of the issue facing the USA and the World is (US) Capitalism itself – which is now decadent and decaying and at a “dead end” – because that “truth” is too unpleasant to accept.

          • GSOB

In Genesis, after years of famine, the people of Egypt gave all their property to the government in return for the promise of food.

Joseph’s plan, son of Jacob,… who became pharaoh’s man.

So the Egyptians became slaves to the ruler and state, as well as Joseph’s descendants. –
            NOT a good thing….

The motive of capitalism’s detractors like yourself Nemnor, is just a quest for their own power and out of an envy towards those who have more money.

It’s only under capitalism that folks
commonly become wealthy, ….without becoming criminals.

          • Nemnor

NOT true. Folks also “commonly” became wealthy during Slavery and Feudalism. But Capitalism was/is an advancement to the previous systems so it allowed for more of that.

However, like Slavery and Feudalism, keep in mind that Capitalism also “legalize” some of the activities of “the 1%” – but which most people otherwise see as immoral and truly criminal.

          • GSOB

            Capitalism is a moral endeavor.

The Bible teaches the morality of personal responsibility.

China owns a great deal of U.S. debt. They don’t want to be caught holding the hot potato if the dollar collapses. It’s not a good sign, and it’s just a matter of time before the greenback is replaced as the world’s reserve currency. For the average American citizen, that would be disastrous. If every US dollar in existence went to pay off all US debt, there would be no paper in circulation left. The paper that initially entered into the economy to begin with was created as debt … and we would still have the interest on that paper to deal with.

Voltaire: “Paper money will always return to it’s intrinsic value … zero!

    • Robert Digerness

I understand what you are trying to say, but for clarification purposes – you can’t pay off U.S. debt with dollars – as dollars are by definition “Federal Reserve Notes”- being ÏOU’s. A paper dollar is a debt instrument. To retire debt, you must first operate at a profit by providing goods and services in excess of distributed dollars. In other words, retire (burn?) the number of dollars in circulation. If, as you say, this could be possible so that there are no dollars left in circulation – it doesn’t necessarily mean that debt would go to zero – as there are many other debt instruments – such as U.S. Bonds/Treasuries – etc. Likewise “promises to pay” encompass debt through unfunded liabilities – social security for one example. The true intrinsic value of dollars will always be the perception by those that use them in the “good faith” of the U.S. government to provide a means of exchange for goods and services. If “they” lose that faith – other alternatives will be sought (gold? Euro? Yuan?) and yes, then the value of the dollar is only worth the paper that is written on – or in Voltaire’s definition … “zero” .With our present level of debt – and growing – faith in the dollar right now IMHO is “risky business”. Perhaps others will decide the same … Russia, for example.

Thank you for you insightful piece. My thoughts begin with recalling what John Kenneth Galbraith called the “technostructure”. Its mission has completed and now it is time for phase two. We must call a spade a spade; a thing should be said of “conspiracy theorists” being right in that there is an “agenda” to crash the dollar. It is no longer deniable. If we look at the lifelong work and essays of David Rockefeller, Strobe Talbot, Ben Bernanke (but to name a few), it is apparent that the phase one objective is complete and now it is time to establish phase two which is to be establish a unified, global currency and in order to do so all other currencies must die.
China and Russia refuse to bow down and be enslaved by the IMF/WB/NATO/SWIFT, Trans-Western Alliance. They are not interested in waiting around to see if SDR’s (Special Drawing Rights aka IMF currency) will be the world’s sole currency. It is apparent they will fight until the end to be uncompromisingly independent of any and all Western dominated ‘say’ on their autonomy.

This article is totally accurate. In a very short time this country will have a difficult time just feeding itself. When these dollars find their way back here, and they will soon, you will see inflation on a level never seen in this country before. People are going to be VERY sorry that they didn’t store food and other items when those items sky rocket in price. You can ignore reality, but, you can’t ignore the consequences of ignoring reality

Who cares what currency they use. Just setup a currency exchange.

I think the bigger problem facing the world is income inequality. There’s no mechanism or incentive to raise wages. Low wages means no customers. The entire world is a zombie economy just skipping along the bottom without any real consumer froth. Too many people living paycheck to paycheck with no chance for any savings because the prices for goods and services are way too high. I don’t think the free markets are really working. It seems like companies can charge whatever they want and their is no competition. My theory on this is lobbyists force politicians to pass laws creating cartels and monopolies in exchange for campaign financing. So nothing will ever change.

I believe we are entering into what former President Ronald Reagan described as “a thousand years of darkness.” We have lost our way and are crumbling from within, more concerned with the confederate flag, a lion’s death, and reigniting racism between blacks and whites than we are with reigning in our national debt and maintaining national security (the Obama administration has downsized our military, negotiated with terrorists and terrorist-funding countries like Iran, and still has not secured our borders). We desire peace so much that we accommodate our enemies and give in to their every demand, ignorant of the fact that this policy of appeasement will still ultimately lead to the war. “And someday when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time, we will have been weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. [Nikita Kruschev] believes this because from our side he’s heard voices pleading for peace at any price, or better red than dead, or as one commentator put it, he’d rather live on his knees than die on his feet” (Ronald Reagan). We Americans have this “unsinkable ship” mentality, but so too did the ancient Roman Empire. We’ve felt the jolt of the ship and now the water is beginning to flood in.

Since last year, all the BRICS countries ( Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) and lots of other countries have agreed to use their own currencies for their international trade instead of the US dollar because the US Federal Justice used to condemn them to pay enormous fines ( for instance a 8 billion dollar fine for French bank BNP, maybe a similar fine for Societe Generale etc …) whenever they traded in dollars ( even from their own countries) with their allied countries that were banished by the USA. Today there is another excuse for the US Justice to condemn a German firm ( Volkswagen) to pay an enormous fine to the US Treasure . Everybody knows the cause of all those Federal fines (robberies) : the US Treasure is as broke as the foreign ones, but more dishonest than they are .

Russia dumping the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency is Putin’s way of trying to dig himself out of a hole. This will strategy will indeed plunge Russia into a more deeper economic collapse until the only people who be using Russian made products will be the Russians.

China will not dump the dollar because they are all about money and economics. The other commonwealth independent nations will not fall into Russia’s fighting a loosing battle because they don’t want to have any closer ties to the former union that did not give them freedom. What’s does Putin believe? That the Ruble will become the world’s reserve currency? I don’t think so. The only thing the Russians are great at is building weapons, because of their barbaric, viking nature. They don’t want an economic war. but on the other hand the Chinese do. However, China can’t stay competitive without cheating the system. The Trans-Pacific trade agreement will place China in an economic crisis alone and isolating them to try and provide for the billions of citizens who suffer under their sovereignty. The social unrest alone will place China in a drastic measure of human rights violations that will involve the world to intervene and break-up their communist system. Communism is dead. It vulnerable under it’s own power. Without the dollar they will be left to a very low quality of life that the people will not take so easy to going back to.

Yes! The dollar will take a minor setback but the communist economy will collapse again and maybe for good the time.

To those who think that Obama is weak because he’s not so fast to go kill innocent women and children who are trapped within a sphere of chaos then you are just as blood thirsty as these villains. Obama is fight a psychological warfare with these strongmen. He’s applying a weapon that the world has never seen before. It’s with intellect and savoire-faire that he stand strong and this is a strategy that the Russians nor the Chinese has game-planned for. Obama is not using might but morality and we know what always win in the end.

Go Russia go! Funny how in my under 40 years on this Earth, the US has gone from “good” to the real Evil Empire, and Russia is trying to turn back to God. Who will receive His blessing? Well, Edgar Cayce said it’s gonna be Russia…
