The Man Without A Plan

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Barack Obama is a man without a plan.  When you are young, they often tell you to “fake it until you make it”, but Barack Obama is taking this to ridiculous extremes.  Barack Obama has absolutely no idea what he is doing when it comes to the economy, and yet he continues to give speeches in which he declares that he is the man for the job.  The State of the Union speech the other night was just abysmal.  The federal government is spending way too much money, and yet Barack Obama is proposing even more government spending.  Entrepreneurs and small businesses are being taxed into oblivion and yet Barack Obama is proposing even higher taxes.  Our economy is being strangled to death by crippling regulations, and yet Barack Obama is proposing a vast array of new regulations.  Barack Obama always gives a nice speech, but it has become appallingly evident that he is totally out of ideas.  So our country will continue to drift aimlessly along without a direction and without a plan until the next financial tsunami comes along and makes things even worse.

And the American people are starting to clue in to the fact that Obama does not have a plan and does not have anything new to say.  Just check out how the audiences for his State of the Union addresses have declined each year….

2009: 52.3 million

2010: 48 million

2011: 42.8 million

2012: 37.8 million

His ratings are falling almost as fast as the ratings for American Idol are.

It is amazing how Barack Obama can use so many words to say so very little.

He always tickles our ears but then he never delivers the goods.  Toward the beginning of his speech the other night, he made the following statement….

“Tonight, I want to speak about how we move forward, and lay out a blueprint for an economy that’s built to last—an economy built on American manufacturing, American energy, skills for American workers, and a renewal of American values”

Well, that sounds pretty good.  Except for the fact that everything he has done for the past 3 years has been the exact opposite of that.

It is almost as if he woke up that morning and decided that he would try the whole “do the opposite” thing once made famous by George Costanza on Seinfeld.

Obama says that our employment situation is getting better, but that is not really true.  The only way that the federal government can claim that there is an 8.5 percent unemployment rate is because they have decided that millions of Americans that have been unemployed for a long time should not be considered “part of the workforce” any longer.

If the number of Americans that were considered to be part of the workforce was the same today as it was back in 2007, the “official” unemployment rate put out by the U.S. government would be up to approximately 11 percent.

Sadly, the number of Americans that are dependent on the government continues to soar even higher.

Since Barack Obama took office, the number of Americans on food stamps has actually increased by 14 million.

Things have not gotten better for average Americans.

They have gotten worse.

In fact, 10 million more Americans have fallen below the poverty line since 2006.  And in 2010, more Americans fell into poverty than ever before.

A lot of people out there are really hurting, and the American people deserve some real answers.

But instead, Obama was saying stuff like this the other night….

“I intend to fight obstruction with action, and I will oppose any effort to return to the very same policies that brought on this economic crisis in the first place”

Oh really?

What is Obama actually doing about the things that caused the last financial crisis?

The “financial reform” bill was a complete and total joke.  Obama has been shamefully soft on the big Wall Street banks that caused the last crisis.

Today, the “too big to fail” banks are larger than ever.  The total assets of the six largest U.S. banks increased by 39 percent between September 30, 2006 and September 30, 2011.

So now they are more of a danger to the financial system than ever.

And not a single Wall Street executive has gone to jail for what they did during the last financial crisis.

Thanks Obama.

But of course Obama was never going to seriously go after Wall Street.

After all, they are the ones that fund his campaigns.

Most Americans don’t realize this, but 3 of the top 7 donors to Obama’s campaign in 2008 were “too big to fail” banks.

And the Obama administration has been absolutely packed with ex-Wall Street bankers.  Last year, Michael Brenner wrote the following about the composition of the Obama administration….

Wall Street’s takeover of the Obama administration is now complete. The mega-banks and their corporate allies control every economic policy position of consequence. Mr. Obama has moved rapidly since the November debacle to install business people where it counts most. Mr.William Daley from JP Morgan Chase as White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Gene Sperling from the Goldman Sachs payroll to be director of the National Economic Council. Eileen Rominger from Goldman Sachs named director of the SEC’s Investment Management division. Even the National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon, was executive vice president for law and policy at the disgraced Fannie Mae after serving as a corporate lobbyist with O’Melveny & Roberts. The keystone of the business friendly team was put in place on Friday. General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will serve as chair of the president’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

During his State of the Union address, Obama also promised to bring manufacturing jobs back to America….

“Think about the America within our reach: A country that leads the world in educating its people. An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs”

That sounds great, except for the fact that Obama has been doing everything he can to get more American jobs shipped out of the country.

The Obama administration has been aggressively pushing new “free trade” agreements with Panama, South Korea and Colombia.  The Obama administration has also made the Trans-Pacific Partnership (“the NAFTA of the Pacific“) an extremely high priority.

And of course we have all seen how wonderfully the first NAFTA worked out.

Our “free trade” policies have been an absolute nightmare for the American worker.

During 2010, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities a day shut down in the United States.  Overall, more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities in the United States have shut down since 2001.

We are bleeding jobs at a pace that is hard to believe.

Amazingly, the United States has lost an average of 50,000 manufacturing jobs a month since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001.

Yet Obama promises more of the same and that is  supposed to help?

During his speech, Obama correctly noted that many foreign manufacturers are heavily subsidized….

“It’s not fair when foreign manufacturers have a leg up on ours, only because they’re heavily subsidized”

So are we going to deeply penalize those that have been cheating?

Are we going to warn them that we will stop trading with them unless they stop?

Of course not.

Obama is going to do next to nothing to stop what China and other predatory nations are doing to us.

Today, the United States spends approximately 4 dollars on goods and services from China for every one dollar that China spends on goods and services from the United States, and the U.S. trade deficit with China in 2010 was 27 times larger than it was back in 1990.

But the Obama administration doesn’t seem to care much about these things.

In fact, just check out what U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk told Tim Robertson of the Huffington Post about the Obama administration’s attitude toward keeping manufacturing jobs in America….

Let’s increase our competitiveness… the reality is about half of our imports, our trade deficit is because of how much oil [we import], so you take that out of the equation, you look at what percentage of it are things that frankly, we don’t want to make in America, you know, cheaper products, low-skill jobs that frankly college kids that are graduating from, you know, UC Cal and Hastings [don’t want], but what we do want is to capture those next generation jobs and build on our investments in our young people, our education infrastructure.

Oh, but Obama now says that he is going to toughen up on trade….

“I’m announcing the creation of a Trade Enforcement Unit that will be charged with investigating unfair trading practices in countries like China. There will be more inspections”

Oh boy – “inspections” – yeah, that is really going to have the Chinese shaking in their boots.

Meanwhile, the Chinese just keep hitting us with new tariffs.  According to the New York Times, a Jeep Grand Cherokee that costs $27,490 in the United States will now cost about $85,000 in China thanks to these new tariffs.

So is Obama going to hit China with tough new tariffs in return?

Of course not.

Meanwhile, our economy continues to bleed businesses and jobs.  According to Professor Alan Blinder of Princeton University, 40 million more U.S. jobs could be sent offshore over the next two decades if current trends continue.

But if you listen to Obama, he makes it seem like many of our industries are in better shape than ever….

“We bet on American ingenuity, and tonight the American auto industry is back.”

Yes, the American auto industry is no longer on the brink of bankruptcy, but it is not “back”.  Just consider the following stats….

*In 1970, General Motors had about a 60 percent share of the U.S. automobile market.  Today, that figure is down to about 20 percent.

*Back in 2000, about 17 million new automobiles were sold in the United States.  During 2011, less than 13 million new automobiles were sold in the United States.

*Japan builds more cars than anyone else on the globe.  Japan now manufactures about 5 million more automobiles than the United States does.

*Since Alan Mulally became CEO of Ford, the company has reduced its North American workforce by nearly half.

*In the year 2000, the U.S. auto industry employed more than 1.3 million Americans.  Today, the U.S. auto industry employs about 698,000 people.

Obama bailed out the auto industry, and they responded by sending even more of our jobs overseas.

During his speech, Obama declared that there will be no more bailouts….

“No bailouts, no handouts, and no copouts.”

That is kind of funny because Obama is basically the all-time champion of handing out bailouts.

If Barack Obama and John McCain had not aggressively pushed for the Wall Street bailouts back in 2008, they never would have happened.

And once Obama became president, there was a seemingly endless parade of bailouts and “stimulus packages”.

So what do you honestly think he will do when the next financial crisis happens?  Do you think he would actually be able to resist the temptation for more bailouts?

Obama also says that he wants to spend more money on training for American workers….

“Join me in a national commitment to train two million Americans with skills that will lead directly to a job.”

But the American people already have enough training.  There are tons of college-educated Americans that are among the ranks of the unemployed right now.

What the American people need are jobs.

Unfortunately, jobs are leaving this country at an unprecedented pace.

Back in the year 2000, more than 20 percent of all jobs in America were manufacturing jobs.  Today, about 5 percent of all jobs in America are manufacturing jobs.

Not only that, but our incomes are also going down.  Because U.S. workers now have to compete for jobs with workers that make slave labor wages on the other side of the globe, pay in this country continues to decline.

A recent White House reported entitled “Investing in America: Building an Economy That Lasts” actually bragged that our trade policies have driven wages in America down.  The following chart is from that report….

The Obama administration has been very good for the largest corporations.

For the rest of us, not so much.

But Obama now says that he wants America to be a place that encourages entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive….

“It means we should support everyone who’s willing to work; and every risk-taker and entrepreneur who aspires to become the next Steve Jobs.”

Unfortunately, the reality is that the federal government is strangling entrepreneurs and small businesses to death with taxes and crippling regulations.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 16.6 million Americans were self-employed back in December 2006.  Today, that number has shrunk to 14.5 million.

That is not a good trend.

And right now small businesses are extremely hesitant to bring on new workers.

One recent survey found that 77 percent of all U.S. small businesses do not plan to hire any more workers in the coming year.

So obviously what the Obama administration is doing is not working.

During his speech, Obama also spoke of developing our own energy resources….

“A future where we are in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren’t so tied to unstable parts of the world.”

Hopefully most of those watching laughed when they heard this, because this had to have been a joke.

America is absolutely swimming in oil and natural gas, and yet the Obama administration has blocked the development of those resources at every turn.

Instead, Obama has been very busy trying to push green energy companies on us, but they have had a nasty habit of going bankrupt.

During his speech, Obama also spoke of the need for “comprehensive immigration reform”.

But apparently Obama’s idea of “immigration reform” is to grant “backdoor amnesty” to the vast majority of the illegal immigrants in the United States and to continue to leave our borders completely wide open.

The consequences of such a policy are very serious.  As I wrote about the other day, there are now 1.4 million gang members living inside the United States, and that number has risen by an astounding 40 percent since 2009.

The last thing we need is more “immigration reform” from Barack Obama.

Of course the “class warfare” part was the centerpiece of Obama’s speech the other night.

Referring to it as the “defining issue of our time”, Obama said that now is the time to hit the wealthy with higher taxes….

“We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by. Or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules.”

This is going to be what Barack Obama is going to base his entire 2012 campaign on.  He is going to try to tap into the economic frustrations of the poor and the middle class and he is going to try to get them to blame the rich and the “party of the rich” (the Republicans).

But taxing the rich is not going to solve our problems.  If Bill Gates donated his entire fortune to the U.S. government, it would only cover the U.S. budget deficit for about 15 days.

The truth is that the ultra-wealthy are always several steps ahead of the U.S. government.  The global elite are hiding 18 trillion dollars in offshore banks, and they are absolute experts at avoiding taxes.

No, the people that always get hit when taxes are raised are small business owners that try to do things “by the book” and middle class families that are barely scraping by.

What we need to do is to get rid of the income tax system entirely.  It is deeply corrupt and it is full of thousands of loopholes.

Trust me, I know.  I used to study this stuff.

But Obama seems to think that taxing the rich is the solution to all of our problems….

“We don’t begrudge financial success in this country. We admire it. When Americans talk about folks like me paying my fair share of taxes, it’s not because they envy the rich. It’s because they understand that when I get tax breaks I don’t need and the country can’t afford, it either adds to the deficit, or somebody else has to make up the difference – like a senior on a fixed income; or a student trying to get through school; or a family trying to make ends meet. That’s not right. Americans know it’s not right. They know that this generation’s success is only possible because past generations felt a responsibility to each other, and to their country’s future, and they know our way of life will only endure if we feel that same sense of shared responsibility. That’s how we’ll reduce our deficit.”

Oh really?

If we just accept Obama’s plan the deficit will be fixed?

That worked out so well during his first term.  During the first three years of the Obama administration, the U.S. government accumulated more debt than it did from the time that George Washington took office to the time that Bill Clinton took office.

The truth is that Obama does not plan to fix anything.  Barack Obama’s proposed 2012 budget projects that the national debt will rise to 26 trillion dollars a decade from now.  And his budget numbers are ridiculously optimistic.

Not that our tax system does not need reform.

If we are going to have an income tax system (which we should not), then it should at least be fair.

There is no way in the world that General Electric and Mitt Romney should pay a lower tax rate than you and I do.

In a previous article, I noted some of the big corporations that have made enormous profits and yet have paid less than zero in taxes in recent years….

What U.S. corporations are able to get away with is absolutely amazing.

The following figures come directly out of a report by Citizens for Tax Justice.  These are combined figures for the tax years 2008, 2009 and 2010.

During those three years, all of the corporations below made a lot of money.  Yet all of them paid net taxes that were below zero for those three years combined.

How is that possible?  Well, it turns out that instead of paying in taxes to the federal government, they were actually getting money back.

So for these corporations, their rate of taxation was actually below zero.

If you have not seen these before, you are going to have a hard time believing some of these statistics…..

Profits: $4.9 billion

Taxes: -$34 million

*Fed Ex*

Profits: $3 billion

Taxes: -$23 million

*Wells Fargo*

Profits: $49.37 billion

Taxes: -$681 million

Profits: $9.7 billion

Taxes: -$178 million

Profits: $32.5 billion

Taxes: -$951 million

Profits: $2.1 billion

Taxes -$72 million

*American Electric Power*

Profits: $5.89 billion

Taxes -$545 million

*General Electric*

Profits: $7.7 billion

Taxes: -$4.7 billion

Are you starting to get the picture?

Hopefully we can all agree that there is something seriously wrong with those numbers.

But fixing holes in the tax system is one thing – blaming America’s economic ills on the wealthy is another.

During his speech, Obama made the following statement….

“You can call this class warfare all you want”

And yes, we will hear the term “class warfare” over and over again for the rest of 2012.

Obama actually believes that “blaming the 1%” can get him sent back to the White House again.

But that isn’t going to solve any of our problems.

Instead, we should be focusing on the root causes of our economic problems.

I would love to see a president get up during a State of the Union address and declare that we need to shut down the Federal Reserve.

Since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, the U.S. dollar has lost over 95 percent of its purchasing power.

Since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913, the U.S. national debt has gotten more than 5000 times larger.

Thanks to the debt-based Federal Reserve system, we are going into debt at a pace that is unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Right now, the federal government is stealing 150 million dollars an hour from our children and our grandchildren.

But Barack Obama loves the Federal Reserve.

In fact, he actually nominated Ben Bernanke for a second term as Federal Reserve Chairman even though Bernanke has a track record of incompetence that is legendary.

So no, nobody should be applauding Barack Obama for his absolutely abysmal speech the other night.

He is a man without a plan and he has been an absolute disaster for America.

  • muddsguns

He doesn’t have a plan and he doesn’t have a clue as to what he’s doing. A dolt.

  • Pat

The name of this game is CHESS not CHECKERS. Do you really think that one smooth talking guy caused all of this? Come on. Get real. That sounds like a soap opera storyline. I believe that no more than I believe some guy in a cave with a walkie talkie took down the World Trade Center.

  • Whens Dinner?

this website is awesome. You suck Mr. O. I have been alive 31 years, by far Mr. O is the worst president I have ever seen.

    • mondobeyondo

He’s falling towards Herbert Hoover territory real fast. If this continues, he could easily be defeated in November. And I thought Nixon was bad!

  • highspeedloafer

No, He has had a plan all along, it was and is to destroy this country and drive it in the ground. He made that clear before the election but nobody would listen.

  • Airborne 71

I must dis-agree with the author , this president knows exactly what he is doing with the economy . He has been taught that the USA is a evil country and must be punished for all of the things it has done in the world . So he has set out to do just that . In his twisted mind he has To ruin the economy to pay back for all the sins the USA has committed in the world and bring it to its knees .

Obama had the power and support of the American people to right the ship in 2008 and he arrogantly squandered the opportunity by giving bankster bailouts at the taxpayers expense. He’s a complete idiot and has no clue about basic economics or he’s doing it on purpose. We can never fix a problem of too much debt with more debt, so just another scam to fleece the American middle class. The American people didn’t just say “No” to Obama’s bailouts in 2008, we screamed “Hell No”, yet he did it any way. That’s a dictatorship, not a representative republic. We’ve already passed the point of no return. There are no solutions now, only unintended consequences. The other major problem we have in our country is how unbelievably stupid the sheeple are. God help us.

  • Colin

The State of the Union speech has been for a long time a wish list. A president can propose, but it’s the job of Congress to write laws for the president to sign later. This Congress, especially the Republican-led House, has one agenda: defeat the President.

The Republicans who are in power have little respect for the man. When was the last time that you or I have seen a governor scream at and wave their finger at a president in public like Arizona Governor Brewer did today?

Nothing will be did this year, and, if historical trends hold, nothing will be done for the next two years to follow. It is an awful situation that will only get worse, for the Republicans will be endeavoring to lay the foundation for a Republican presidential win in 2016.

For people like me and my mother, our financial situation will get worser and our abilities to reverse this trend will become more limited.

  • tappedops

    Good evening im your president…

Tonight ive got good news and bad news…

    First the bad news…

All i have to give you tonight is false hope…

And now for the good news…

    Weve got lots of it…

    • mondobeyondo

But what about the change? He promised us “change we can believe in”!!

  • RightWingRadical

I disagree with this article totally. Obama has a plan and is executing it as quickly as possible. He (and most others in the US government) want to drag USA down. The flood of illegals is intended to dramatically alter the demographics of USA. Note that only illiterate third worlders are welcomed.

  • Jack

That “economic collapse”, is it gonna come anytime soon? I only find optimistic news about growth, confidence and more spending, in particular a recovering housing market.

    • commodester

      You are idiotic putz!!

  • Why are we in this mess?

All this focus on growth and stability, but we are not getting growth stability. Why? There is a fundamental problem with growth and stability.

Imagine a society that has a dictator in place for the sake of growth and stability. This seems to work fine for a long time, then all of a sudden a revolution comes along and crashes the society.

Imagine a society that has elections every four years. It is clearly not stable because the government is changing every four years. It is obvious that the other society is more stable – the government is not changing. However, the big revolution crashes are eliminated.

There is a nature cycle to governance. E

    The concept applies to economics.

We have sunk so low as a nation to elect this man as our president that we shall never recover. The face of every American should tingle in shame at the empty and foolish words of the man who is supposed to be our president.

This man makes Jimmy Carter look like George Washington. When the people flocked to the poles and elected this man, they didn’t scrape the bottom of the barrel, they picked the barrel up and dug deep under it.

    • Rhynn

Extraordinary example of hindsight bias. Well done you.

Better for you to have awaited his re-election and then made such statements. Or even better, to have applied them to Americans for knowing what Bush was about and re-electing him anyway.

Speaking of which, shouldn’t you have known better than to have expected the American people to make the right decisions on the ballot in 2008 after watching how they screwed the country the preceding 8 years? Asked as devils advocate of course…

Now I haven’t voted in an Presidential election since Ross Perot quit on the team while running against Clinton et al. There was nobody of value running in the next several elections – I was not voting for GW. Wasn’t impressed. Ron Paul dropped out in this last election or I’d have voted for him. Instead I cast my vote by not voting at all. Hopefully he wises up and runs Independent, so I can put my vote where it belongs.

But more importantly, any attempt to criticize a President that implies any sort of party bias or belief that the President operates unilaterally, is ill informed, and completely failing to grasp the Main Idea. Obama is not the worst president in history if you have any clue what he was run for. If you do, you realize he is the best there’s been since the end of WWII.

The man is the Robert Plant of presidents. Hits that high falsetto, grabs his belt right above his crotch and bends back just far enough to let America’s panties sail over his head like confetti. Walked onstage in 2008 and walked off with groupies when anyone else would have been booed off the second the lights came up.

Rethink what his job was and you’ll see that for the Presidential handlers, he was not merely the best pick, he was the ONLY pick.

      • Malcolm Reynolds

“Hits that high falsetto, grabs his belt right above his crotch and bends back just far enough to let America’s panties sail over his head like confetti. ”

        LMFAO! hammer meet nail.

There is a natural cycle to governance. Eliminating this cycle brings on big crashes instead.

The concept applies to economics as well. You know about the business cycle. Eliminating this cycle brings big crashes instead. This is due to the buildup of corruption and bad decisions during the good times. They must be released during the bad times or one gets a big crash instead.

We are in a crash state because we thought we could eliminate the business cycle.

Default and move forward. Trying to stop the crash only prolongs the agony. Bad decisions and corruption must be burned out. Embrace small recessions going forward.

Politicians are liars not planers. Any fool that expects a plan from a politician was just that – “A Fool”. Our problems go far beyond Obama and politics, wall street, money or even big business and corruption. Our problems started long before obama.

    Your words:
“Tonight, I want to speak about how we move forward, and lay out a blueprint for an economy that’s built to last—an economy built on American manufacturing, American energy, skills for American workers, and a renewal of American values”

This is the same plan that all countries and their leaders (including obama) want to execute. The problem is, everyone else has learned the game and they want in. They want their cut. We live on a finite planet. Business is really war by other means. When business breaks down there will be war.

If they needed a plan one was written during the Regan Administration to counter the threat of China. However, large US transnationals and the banks saw an opportunity to reduce all costs and manufacture in a country with no pollution controls, where workers have no rights, etc.

Download and read….if you were going to turn around the US this what you would need to consider. Bit late now and collapse will come before renewal.

Very thorough article, and yes Obama has no plan, but let’s be clear about Taxes. Romney pays “less” or is taxed at a lower rate because his earnings are based off investments. Whether you agree with it or not, the reason that is so is because the lower 15 percent rate is suppose to encourage investment. If the rate was the same as regular income (38 percent for the rich) what is the incentive to invest new capital in any company, startup or otherwise? Of course the whole purpose(as you pointed out in your article) is to divide us and blame the rich. Obama is banking on the ignorance, frustration and ire of most voters. Sadly, it may work.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

“pays “less” or is taxed at a lower rate”

Stop confusing people. The libtards are lying to you. Tthey are comparing Romney’s Capital Gains taxes to someone else’s Income Taxes. Get it.

I do not believe that the evil that has a chokehold on America’s throat will allow Paul to be President. That leaves the choices of the phoney and failed Obummer and a pack of war mongering idiots who call themselves Republicans. I thought I could hold my nose and vote for the Obummer….but, I can not. So, there are your choices, Mr and Mrs/Miss Americans…..the Obummer who has continued the lies and evil of the Bush administrations, or war mongering fools who do not have a clue that America is dying.

“war mongering idiots who call themselves Republicans”

Yea, Perhaps you should educate yourself fool.

Harry truman – left winger = Korean War – made the decision to use the atomic bomb.

JFK – left winger = Vietnam.

How many wag the dog wars did Clinton do? I wont bother to name them all.

The SOTU is nothing more than a show for the masses. Just words that hold no water. Obama says the same thing over and over and really hasn’t offered much to change the course we are currently on and as this continues the country will continue to sink. Honestly…it will take a miracle for ANYONE to get anything positive done because of our deeply divided and corrupt political system.

Until agencies like The Fed, IRS, DEA, DOE, are abolished plus drastic spending cuts to the military industrial complex and higher tariff rates on imported goods there is little chance of the deficit ever being reduced.

In my honest opinion we have passed the chance to turn things around. America has drifted away from it’s roots and The Constitution is being stepped on constantly. We are no longer a God fearing country and without Him we have no chance of recovery….

It’s easy for anyone to see that Obama is a failure, liar, crook, marxist..pretty much anything you want to throw at him at this point. What I fail to see is how anyone but Ron Paul is atually going to make any meaningful changes to the fundamental problems that plague our country….

    • orsobubu

      >Obama is a (…) marxist..

No. Obama is a state-capitalist. An economy without wage work, money, banks, market is communism. An economy with wage work, money, banks, market is capitalism (state-capitalism or free-market capitalism). In capitalism, state or private bourgeoisie exploit workers; in communism, all the products are owned by the workers. Stalin was a state-capitalist. Stalin killed more marxists and more communists than anyone else.

The proof? With new legislation, Obama is preparing to suppress revolutionary masses asking for a revolution, like Stalin did. These workers don’t realize they are aiminig for communism, just the opposite, they think Obama is a communist; so – lacking in marxist theory and organization – they will be wiped out, and state-fascist-imperialist-capitalists will be ready to go to war.

Communism never existed to date: communism is a program for the future, marxism is the theory to achieve it, leninism is the organization needed to win.

      • Agoraphobic Plumber

Looks like SOMEBODY actually went to class during Poly Sci 101…and then never successfully reversed the rectal-cranial inversion that resulted.

For my part, I like capitalism because I judge that it gives me the best chance of being free from government domination. Not a perfect chance, but better than the nanny state that’s currently smothering me and preventing me from being able to start my own business.

  • Rodster

None of these guys have a plan because if they did have a plan to really fix things then they would have to tell the truth. So they continue their shell game and continue kicking the can down the road.

  • realist

Yeah, a lot of talk about the O-man, but we all know that both parties are dirty. They have run this coutnry into the ground with their empty promises and sell outs to the highest bidder.

If you don’t believe open your eyes. Shake off the old paradigms, see how they use you and keep you down. Wake up.

“I would love to see a president get up during a State of the Union address and declare that we need to shut down the Federal Reserve.”

Michael, with all due respect, are you smoking crack? Obama works for the bankers – don’t you get that?

    • Michael

Of course Obama would never say that.

Obviously it would be a different president making that statement.

      • Josh

I admire your hopefulness and optimism.
        Ron Paul 2012.

  • ItIsUponUs

“There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: [a proud look – KJV], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.” Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV

Name one candidate, of either party, that hasn’t met one of these things let alone all seven. The only one – Ron Paul. Who is the only one to say, “Let’s shut down the Federal Reserve.”? Ron Paul. Who has a clear plan to bring jobs back to this country? Ron Paul. I’m not saying these things necessarily to endorse Paul. It’s just a matter of looking at the track record. His consistency can’t even be questioned by his detractors. Do I agree with him on everything? Nope. But I rather have an honest person I can disagree with in office rather than someone who lies. Because, in the end, you never can trust where a liar stands.

    • BenjiK

I agree 100%. Ron Paul is most often labeled as “crazy”. Personally, I can handle “crazy” as long as it’s accompanied with honesty and consistency. We will NEVER be able to have an honest, substantiated discussion in Washington with the current band of merry misfits.

From a different poster elsewhere, but it is pertinent.

Obama has an impressive list of accomplishments!

First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.

First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.

First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense.

First President to repeat the Holy Qur’an and tell us the Islamic call to worship is the most beautiful sound on earth.

First President able to break all these laws, be openly corrupt and get by with treason, simply because he’s black.

  • Nancy

For the first time I disagree with you. BO does have a plan (well, coming from his handlers) – it’s the destruction of our country, plan and simple. So far, he’s been doing a pretty good job of it …

  • Barn Cat

Obama knows EXACTLY what he’s doing and that’s why he’s doing it. He and his accomplices are destroying the US in preparation for making it part of a one-world government. The one prophesied in Revelation. Again, Obama isn’t incompetent. He’s evil.

    • Rhynn

Being willfully evil requires the freedom and power of autonomy, which puppets do not have. They dance as their strings dictate they dance.

It is inconceivable that the Electoral College is this uncannily good at forming the consensus of opinion and technique necessary to locate this many willfully evil cults of personality in a row to fill the top seat in the oval office. But it is short work to find this many drones.

What do you propose to change the tax system? We could go back to a system of tariffs or to a national sales tax. Everyone from all walks of life should pay some tax for the pleasure to live here. The wealthy receive welfare through all of the interest we pay them from borrowing our own money and to many are willing to take (to them) free money reom the government. How many of the food stamp users are willing to get up off their rumps and grow a garden and can what they grow for use out of seasson? How many welfare users are willing to learn how to pick crops of farmers so that real american residents do this work. The answer is very few. We have become a nation with many lazy blood sucker like ticks. These ticks are made up of many in the bankster class and the welfare class that produce nothing of value. They just suck what they can from the real economy. Investers demand the highest profits in the shortest time frame, so in turn ship off jobs over seas. Consumers want the lowest cost item so in turn they support shipping jobs overseas to the lowest cost labor markets. If we cut the spending in the government in the amounts needed to balance the budgit, we go into a depression. This would hurt so much that the powers running the country are scared to death of the riots that would follow. On the other hand if we continue down Obama’s path of never ending spending the pain will be much worse when it hits the fan. If we were to make large spending cuts and tax cuts at the same time coupled with tariffs towards China where they have them against us might remove some of the pain of the spending cuts. Instead of food stamps to buy anything in the stores you want, supply just some basic bulk food to keep people frpm starving like rice and beans for starters. Maybe people would start growing a garden to supply their own varity of different foods and not the nanny state. Cut the wages and benifit packages of government workers from the President on down the line. Start at the top first. No more plush vacations for the Obamas, let them hang out at Camp David as most Presidents have done in the past to relax and unwind. Cut military bases overseas that we don’t need. We do not need to continue to borrow money from other countries to protect those same countries. That is just nuts. Let those countries protect themselves with their own money. Get rid of many rules and regulations that take away our liberty and ability to compete in the world. How about the federal Dept. of Education, how many children do they directly teach? Since we need fewer laws and regulations lets go to a part time congress. And while we are on that subject, how about a strict term limits of one term in you life in Congress and then go home for good. Don’t get your you know what stuck in the door on the way out. We need this for the voters are always being bought with new benifit from the same old Congressman. Get rid of the Federal Reserve or limit what it can do with OUR MONEY. Most of the debt was built up by fraud on the taxpayes, so in turn future generations should not be serfs to the bond holder class so huge hair cuts should be on the table. In order to resolve many of our problems every one will have to share some of the pain. Speaking of sharing some of the pain, Most of us old folks will not like this one. Social Security is broke and for each check sent to your bank account the money is borrowed. Get rid of this ponzi scheme and just care for the older generation as needed with welfare. It makes no sense to swend out checks to people that do not need them so them they can take vacations on ships and save their own money for their own children’s trusts. Free medicare should be just basic medicine and if you want knee replacments pay for them yourselves. What we are doing to the future generations is not right to expect them for us. If people need help our country needs to rely more on charity instead of the nanny state. We are broke!

    • mark

Sorry about some of the typo’s. I shoud have checked it before I sent this.

    • Michael

Yes, I think tariffs would be one constitutional way to raise money for the federal government, and I agree that some form of a consumption tax would be better than a tax on income.

  • grandpa

When the milk dries up its time for slaughter..dont be crawling under this bull…

Wrong, Wrong, and just plain Wrong.

Obama does have a plan. That plan includes making the rich richer, expanding the power of the bankers to dictatorial heights that even Ceasar would be envious of, and putting the people into total serfdom and bondage. That is the plan and it is proceeding on schedule rather nicely I might add.

They say framing is everything. And I think you are framing this in the wrong fashion. These failed polices are by design, not by accident. Nothing Washington D.C. or Wall Street does is by “accident”. They know exactly what they are doing and they will continue to do this until the asylum states, and the world, lies broken at their feet.

    • Sunshine

After reading Gary Allen’s “The Rockefeller File”, I think you are right.

  • The 2008 crash was a small wave in what is to come. The world economy is now supported by a house of cards that is going to be wiped out by the next big tsunami which will wreak havoc. The financial institutions including the Federal Reserve have been re-inflated with hot air that is constantly cooling, and needs more watered down currency to maintain it’s existence. Obama has been a major failure in the fact he should have let many of these banks fail instead of icing the cake for an even bigger failure. “To big to fail” is now a monster.

So the question comes – Who do you vote for?
For the last several elections the two main parties have given us a choice of Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum…or Dumb and Dumber….

I have not voted FOR anyone to be president in a long time. Mostly I am voting against the greater of two evils. Someone who will preside over our decline at a slower pace than his/her opponent who wants to accelerate that decline…

I like what Ron Paul stands for and will vote for him in the primary and try to be a delegate on his behalf, but he will not win the nomination….

So come November 2012, if, (and that is a big question) we still have an election it will be between Obummer and some establishment big-government Republican…Again this year my choice will be between the Lesser of Two Evils….

I am weary of voting the lesser of two evils, but not voting, or voting third party only insures that the greater evil wins…..

The system is broken. What say you?

    • nowwthen

Like you I’ve been voting against the greater of two evils for most, no ALL, of my life. It kills me when people criticize Americans for continuing to elect bad leaders. What other choice do we have? One strategy – dump incumbents until things change.

  • Patriot Alice

He does have a plan: Devalue, borrow and spend. What a loser….

  • Toon

Michael – Do you think the US economy was stronger in 2001 or 2004? 2001 was technically a recession year, whereas 2004 was a high water mark for growth under GWB. Which do you think was the “better” year for America?

    • Michael

Well, by 2004 our debt was far higher and we had lost huge numbers of manufacturing facilities and manufacturing jobs.

      So both years were bad.

But today is even worse, and tomorrow will be even worse than that.

We are in a long-term economic decline.

  • Kathy Smith

That speech had CAMPAIGN written all over it. Unfortunately Micheal if someone got up & said I will shut down the Fed Reserve they would be shot on sight. What this country needs is true leadership not political leadership. IN GOD WE TRUST leadership.

  • drr

    Angry Michael is angry!

  • Cinderella Man

Ya gotta hand it to Obama Caesar, the jive turkey talks a good game. But like all of his words they sound good, but have no substance. The man contradicted himself so many times in that speech my head felt spinning. I think thats the point though, he tells so many lies and false stats that it’s hard to keep track of them. If I didnt know better by being a reader of this blog and infowars I would think that the economy has turned the corner, three million jobs have been created, the auto industry is on the up and up, and everything would be just fine if those nasty repukes just went along with Barry. Did anyone else notice the lighting in the room? It made Obama appear to be glowing with angelic light from heaven. No I know how the russians felt when they had to listen to speaches from their party leaders! Except I dont drink anymore so I cant whack down a fifth of vodka to make it more tolerable or let alone believe it!

    • BenjiK

Did you notice all of his “We must work together” statements regarding Congress were followed up with “but I will act without them”? A fine example of preaching “unity” while actually saying “it’s my way or the highway”….

  • bongstar

How uneducated you are to say that he dosent know what he is doing with the economy!!! Do the mathe conect the dots instead of reiderating other numbers and stats you read. He knows exactly what he is doing! destroying America! he and his CFR buddies down at the Fed and the Other Centrtal banks are implimenting the New world order! The CFR And the Fabian socialist, understood that the only road block to there economic world take over was the USA. they know that our people would not submit to this. so they standardized Starvation techinqus like Mao, And Stalin. Remeber a people wont submit till there lifes are complete chaos and cant eat. then they will keel to any one who offers food and any form of stability.
The collapse is intentional. Obama is a mere puppet! please studie so you can understand this!

    • Lennie Pike

      You are correct!

Everything that happens in the world now happens for that reason!

What ever they do – you can be sure it was done to achieve what you pointed out.

I’m not your Momma, but I know what I’m talking about – if the name you use for yourself is accurate, throw your bong in the dumpster and rejoin the human race – be known as a “heart” and not a “head” for exactly the same reasons you talked about.

You won’t want to find yourself on the same “side” as these “people” that you criticized who are “heartless heads” – who will kill and enslave billions of people because they think they know how to achieve a perfect world.

It’s not a perfect world, you don’t need to know, God takes care of the knowing. All we have to do is trust Him and not worry.

      • bongstar

Thanx lennie! and i threw the bong out about about 2 and a half years ago. And im doing best to not worry and remeber that with God we will be ok where ever we are! the only things they can take from us are earthly things! Though i am still preping as much as possible to make my time here as comftorble as possible. this is all unravleing faster than any one of us has expected. and thank you agian it hard some times to not become upset with all this happening and the amount of indoctrinated knowledge that people reiderate. but you are right i need to be more of a heart. Thanx and god bless

        • Lennie Pike

I need to be more of a heart also – most people do and it is the most important thing.

          Thank you.

  • Obama’s bloated lip service.

  • bongstar

But thank you for Finaly mentioning the Fedreal reserve!!!!!

  • Rancher

Last time I checked I believe Chrysler has the majority of it’s stocks held by Fiat. Thus it is not an American Company.

Next Ford took zero govt bribe money and obama says he is responsible for their spending growth? Say what?

Next if I am not mistaken the obama folks require all Govt vehicle purchases to be from GM rather than the best vehicle for the buck. This promotes GM sales in a false way.

Last my prez is an flat out liar…sad to have to say, but true.

  • S. Wiseman

“But Obama now says that he wants America to be a place that encourages entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive….”

When families are fined thousands of dollars because their children operate lemonade stands at their own home, you are not encouraging entrepreneurship. What the administration is encouraging is dependence – dependence on government and dependence on big corporations. So many families would do well to run their own small home-based businesses, and mom and pop shops. People just want to earn enough income to be able to provide for themselves, their families, and their loved ones. If families were allowed to take care of themselves in this manner, whole communities would no longer need government assistance. But the licensing, regulations, taxes, and a mountain of red tape are discouraging. What we have is a government that discourages that level of independence. The name of the game is to enslave you to “the system.”

I know a single mother of three living in subsidized housing in the city who sold candy to local school children out of her home. She did quite well and the neighbors loved her. The authorities shut her down. Poor folk on government assistance aren’t allowed to operate businesses out of subsidized houses.
Truthfully, no one should be required to ask permission to provide for themselves.

  • Craig

If Rick Santorum is the republican nominee, then I will vote republican. Otherwise, I think I will vote democrat for the first time in my life. I mean if the ship is going to go down, why not try to party all the way down? Obama will keep the money flowing. The rest of the republican candidates couldn’t care less about middle class American jobs.

    • sharonsj

Just curious. Do you know that Santorum wants to ban all abortions with no exception for rape and incest, and he wants to ban all contraceptives? If that goes through, then how much more in taxes are you willing to pay to support, clothe, feed, and educate all these extra people?

      • Craig

At least as much as we are paying for all the illegal and legal foreign invaders that have taken the place of the aborted.

  • gary2

The only part of the speech I liked was the tax the rich and to make the scumbag rich pay their fair share big time.

That part was such music to my ears…

However, I am disappiointed in how conservative Obama has been. I wanted a progressive and all we got was a moderate republican.

    Bernie Sanders for president.

Yes Michael-taxing the rich hard and making corporations pay taxes period will be a HUGE step to fixing the deficit. By doing this and putting more money in poor folks pockets who will spend and generate demand we will grow our way out of the deficit.

I thought growing out of a deficit was the republican wet dream so why not tax the rich and grow out of the deficit. Your side including Douche bag paul ryan plans actually INCREASE the deficit so you have no plan.

When the repubes we asked if they would take 10 in cuts for every 1 in tax increase and said no that proved once and for all they are not serious about any deficit reduction.

Seems to me your side has bigger problems…open marriage Newt (how are the low info social conservatives going to justify their vote for him?) and Mittens…need I say more?

The right is going down hard and I will do whatever I can to hasten the rights demise.

    • Michael

I am definitely not on the “side” of Newt and Mitt either.

    • Rodster

Yay National Socialism FTW ! 🙂

    • Kevin2

The taxes should be increased but we run a 1.2 trillion dollar yearly deficit. Your huge dent is more like a tiny scratch.

What is the idea behind blocking the Canadian oil to the US and therefore directing it to Chinese export? The answer is the facilitation of globalization regardless of excuses otherwise.

Solutions are not being found because the agenda of globalization precludes them being implemented. They want our standard of living to drop and for us to use less of everything so more is available for globalist expansion.

People think the various failed plans or lack of plans show incompetence. Quite to the contrary, the plans are working. It’s in the plan for us to drop.

    • Hans

Gary, I foresee a French revolution scenario unfolding. The 1% will end up losing their heads.
Afterwards, if you are still alive, you can try to impose your “tax the rich” system on your own. The “rich” will then be the preppers with food, water, medicine, gold and silver. Just remember they will be well-armed survivors who will not take kindly to the likes of people who want to take their stuff.
Excluding the banker scum, there are rich people who got where they are through hard work. It is just not fair for someone like yourself to demand that they hand it over to losers.
Before the collapse, may you become successful in your workplace or in business; then you will come to realise how many parasites are feeding off you.

      • View from Abroad

“I foresee a French revolution scenario unfolding. The 1% will end up losing their heads.”

Unfortunately I think, the future will look far more like “The Iron Heel” – the 1% will use their control of the 10% (“police”, security, armed forces, “justice”) to utterly subdue, brutalize and rape the 89%.

For the next decades, if not centuries.

Now, THIS is a book worth reading in these days.

      • Jason

Most amercian success stories are Hand me down. Not rags to riches..
Its just a little trick to point out the few, and keep the many rags still in rags.

These are peoples whos moms come over and wadh there clothes still at 50. Get presents from parents love and encourage ment. Meanwhile the rags family gets split up abused and the rags child left to fend for its own. Always chasing that rags to riches carrott. When it still takes a good last name the right akin color and some old money to make it look like you worked “so hard”.

    • tak

every post gary 2 says the same thing tax the rich but what is the down side of taxing the rich, soon people will feel they do not have to work they can live off hard working individuals and 50% of the country will not work at all…….wait we are already there

  • Bret Simpson

Money is like cow ************..don’t do no good unless you spread it around.Soooooo..let’s start spreadin’ it.

  • Note from Idaho

Obama, his administration and the willing media are masters of distraction politics.

Now that he has a record, his goal is too distract from thoughtful examination of what has taken place in his administration.

So daily, we hear class warfare, green energy
fantasies, unlevel playing fields on and on.

This distraction feeds the bickering masses fueling division and animosity.

In reality the debt mounts, jobs leave and are not replaced, regulations strangle the few who try to get a foothold. The next news cycle feeds another distraction.

    The economic collaspe continues.

  • D

The State of the Union speeches have always been sheeple gratifiers. The sheeple take it to heart, yet we know it’s nothing more than the elite’s distraction to bring more hate between the false parties.

BO is a scapegoated puppet, like everyone before him. He is owned by the banking cartel and other misc. shadow elite. Why do we always make a big deal of these politician battles? None of it matters anymore. The elites’ diabolical plan is already in place.

  • mondobeyondo

So, Obama wants to lay out a blueprint for an economy that’s built to last. An economy built on American manufacturing, American energy, skills for American workers, and a renewal of American values. Okay, sounds great!

Now tell me how you’re going to do it.
What are the plans? How do you intend to implement them? Do you have a plan for this? How far along will our economy be in 2015? 2019? Mr. President, have you given that any thought? Oh never mind, you’ll be out of office by then, and you won’t care.

Green energy – fantastic idea! New high paying American jobs! We need that right now. And it helps the planet, saves the lives of fluffy Arctic seals, and so forth. So, how are you going to do that, Mr. President? More electric cars made in Detroit? I guess that’s a start.

The Prez said, “Join me in a national commitment to train two million Americans with skills that will lead directly to a job.” Great! How are you gonna make that happen? A new Job Corps? A United States Peace Corps? Where’s the money going to come from, to train all those potential plumbers, steelworkers and IT people?

Come on. Obama is a man with the backbone of a jellyfish. He comes up with these brilliant ideas, but no idea how to implement them or make them work. He should get a clue from one of his predecessors, John F. Kennedy. He also made a State of the Union address, in 1961. He proposed that the U.S. commit itself to putting a man on the moon, and returning him safely to Earth before the end of that decade (the 1960’s). Specific goal, specific timeline. In other words – it’s 1961, you scientists, researchers, physicists, etc. better get your butts in gear right now! You’ve got eight years to accomplish this mandate.

“We choose to go to the moon in this decade… not because it is easy, but because it is hard”. **
Don’t worry, I’m still breathing. I’m not holding my breath waiting for reform and change. Nothing is going to change. Generally speaking, high level politicians care about only three things:

    1. Money
    2. Their friends
    3. Themselves
** Rice University, Houston, August 1962. JFK did not say that at the 1961 State of the Union address. Just so ya know.

  • Matthew

Excellent Article your research and facts to contradict almost everything the POTUS said were spot on. Well done. After reading a piece like this I wonder how Americans still want a federal government period. They do nothing to help the American people. NOTHING! Citizens are more than capable of handling their own affairs in their local communities without any involvement from a federal government.

Why is everyone so quick to blame him when they know the truth, yet just sit idly by complaining? This is what I don’t understand. Every reader here, do they understand the suffering their own children will go through? Doesn’t that motivate anybody to do anything? All I see everywhere is people whining and not doing anything.

  • sharonsj

Well, it turns out that somewhat more people applied for food stamps under Bush than under Obama, but don’t let facts stand in Newt Gingrich’s way.

Also, most economists say that the stimulus wasn’t big enough and too much of it was in tax cuts. You can thank the Repubs for that.

Finally, have you examined any of the tax proposals from the Republican presidential candidates? They give huge tax breaks to the very rich and screw the rest of us. What would that mean in terms of government? Not less spending on defense or any of the other shit that politicians get rich off of. It means less help for the lower classes, no heating assistance, no medical care for kids and the elderly, no more extended unemployment, etc. So if you think things are bad now, wait until both Romney ad Gingrich pay no taxes at all but you’ll have to get a second or third job, if you can find one.

  • Rowell

Sorry to have to break up the Obama bashing here, but let’s be honest here for a moment. You can’t blame just one man for all the problems we are having today.

    * You have to blame members of Congress, both the House and the Senate, for their complete inability to work together, compromise and unite for the betterment of the country.

    * You have to blame the previous administration for setting the course that we are now on. Two unfunded wars, unfunded expansion of medicare, de-regulation of Wall Street, banks and corporations.

    * You have to blame the lobbyists, the special interests and the wealthy for buying politicians to use as they see fit, not for the best interest of the American people.

    * You have to blame the American public at large for sitting idly by, allowing this to happen, without raising any real opposition to the slide the country has been on for decades. Blame the American citizen that is too lazy, too distracted by the entertainment industry (including what tries to pass itself off as News) and too irresponsible to really make a difference and take back their government.

No, you can’t pull this situation on Obama, or G.W. Bush, or any one individual. If you try, you are a fool and a sheep. Open your eyes, pull your head out of the fog and see the world for what it REALLY is. There is a group of people, in control, that is taking this country, you and I, to the cleaners. The more you yell and scream, and cast blame at other, the more they laugh and the more they get away with.

  • deadby2020

you all who get ANY type of gov’t assist better pray Obama gets elected. otherwise all your ‘benefits’ are toast… anyway most of us will be dead by 2020

“People rail on Obama and say, ‘Oh, he’s a socialist. He’s a Marxist.’ No, he’s not. Socialism is egalitarianism. He’s a fascist. This is a fascist country. Fascism has come to America. The merger of state and corporate power, by definition, is called fascism.” —Gerald Celente

  • The blind leading the blind,
“follow me I know the way”.
America wake up before it’s to late, we need to start electing a man or woman who has a plan to fix things. Who doesn’t always say things we want to hear but tells the TRUTH, weather we want to hear it or not.
And NOW the truth will not be pretty, it will now be a bitter pill to swallow for all of us.
And we need to make DEEP cuts in the Federal Government.
Right now I would vote for a 500 pound bald plumber from Iowa as long as he would tell me the truth and make lobbying illegal and close down the Fed, Dept. of Education the IRS, Dept. of Transportation and make everyone in the federal government who makes over $250,000 take a 50% pay cut, and that’s just for starters.
The closest thing we have to that is Ron Paul.
God Bless Ron Paul and Good Luck!

It’s too hard to admit the truth, and to come to the conclusion that Obama is a paid treasonous born liar who’s job it is to destroy America, and that most of Congress and the Federal Government has been assigned the same task knowingly or unknowingly.

Why do they want America destroyed? If that is not obvious to you, then face the glaring truth which is blinding you while you’re at it.

If we admit this as fact, then you either have to do something by taking corrective action, or live with yourselves as enslaved cowards – unless you are one of them, for which the world will be a paradise – for a short while only.

    • bongstar

right on target ! its a very hard truth to admit and face. knowing that every thing we were tought is lies. When most of this overwhelming knowledge became aperant to me when it hit me in a realistic sense, when the enormity and atrocities where made clear to me i had a few break downs. literal in tear break downs. But know i have realized my true place and i feel i am now several steps ahead of most, at least mentaly. I worry for those who will be blind sided and who have yet to get there.

  • The republicans have been pounding there “do not tax the rich because it will harm job growth” drum pretty hard lately. That makes a lot of sense based on the fact that they are shipping them out of this country as fast as they can,So what can be gained by taxing them
to the hilt all they will do is pack there bags and move there headquarters overseas. If You really want to hurt them quit buying there products and they will get the message loud and clear. As for that joke of a so called president
for three yrs he has been at the helm directing the dismantling of this country but I forget to also add the ptb that are supporting him in these efforts. It Seems that he is now in the process of a paridagm move to convince people that all along he was the people’s president he
claims now he wants to support small business,
to retrain people, blah ,blah, blah.I do not see much hope for the future in the direction it is going so I Will part with this The Who”Won’t get fooled again.”

  • The blaming the rich, to saying how great our dying industrial base is, to finally saying he’s apparently going to throw kids in jail if they don’t graduate from high school, this SOB has really topped them all. I’m shocked no one has really noted that last one.

    • BenjiK

I think the “graduate or else” mandate BO is trying to force on the states bothered me the most. But don’t worry, kids won’t be going to jail, their parents will……

  • Rick

You can be sure that Barack Obama has a plan all right, but it’s just not for the benefit of Main Street. If one is to say that Barack Obama has no plan, then I would submit that no plan is better than a bad plan (that one would naturally expect from one of those Republican hacks) any day.

I am “glad” you mentioned tariffs. I’m in Australia and 20 years ago as part of the economic reforms they decided to get rid of tariffs so there would be a “level playing field”. Probably parroting something about “world’s best practise”, etc. The idea was the government wasn’t going to prop up inefficient industry. It sounds fine and many businesses were happy to go alone with the scheme as in meant that many inputs would also reduce in price.

The government was promising to “eliminate” foreign tariffs by negotiating with our trading partners! Did that happen! No! In fact in many instances the cost of exporting to foreign countries increased as tariffs remained essentially the same, and in many instances customs charges were added as well. So having a thriving chemicals industry which met all of the regulatory requirements died. We now import billions in agrochemicals alone! The prices of inputs have gone up dramatically (excluding exchange rate fluctuations) and so we are worse off. The quality of the inputs is much lower and we have the unemployed as well. Many people changed careers – usually to something poorer paying. Several senior people never got a job again. More hot air and promises and ever more extravagant pay packages to reward them for their “wisdom”.

Our new business leaders are more like “Robber Barons” and are great at extracting wealth for themselves while system, ativcally destroying businesses – none can build anything. Australia is a at the edge of a great precipice. With our glorious leader, we tremble at the thought that our government will make a bold leap forward anytime now….

If you think the housing collapse is bad in the US, just cast an occassional eye across the pacific – it wont be long before the mining boom is gone and a crater of destroyed dreams is left in its place.

I’m the mom of a five year old son. His future looks very bleak and I’m beside myself with frustration at the ignorance and stubborn attitude of the majority.

This is not about Democrat/Republican/Independent, etc.

What we have here is a show for the owners of the world.

Pisses me off that my son is a star on their flippin’ stage.

……….destroying America to implement Fascism on a Global scale – which can also be defined as the godless money-worshiping elite lording over the rest of us idiots (for allowing it).

  • Elias

I don’t know about you guys, but I got exactly what I voted for. The 2008 election was between a candidate that was promising to destroy the country slowly (McCain) and a candidate that was promising to destroy the country quickly (Obama). I voted for the one that would get the destruction over with quickly, so we could move on to whatever is coming next (socialism).

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like that the US is being destroyed. However, what do you do when both political parties are bent on said destruction? The game is rigged so that we the people don’t really have any kind of input any longer. Certainly we can jump up and down and scream and yell, but so what. We the people don’t have a police force that can go to Washington and arrest the politicians who aren’t listening to us (or who are guilty of outright treason). Yes, we can theoretically vote them out of office, but they’ve made sure election rules such that incumbents are favored in all federal level elections. Districts are drawn to favor one party or the other, so that there is a sort of balance of power (with Democrats generally in the majority).

The US is in decline by design, and the plans were drawn up by both parties. Why? Because you and I just aren’t smart enough to know how to properly direct our lives; which school to send our kids to, which line of work to enter once we’ve finished school; how to spend the money we make from our chosen profession. They believe with all their heart that if we would just do what they tell us to we’d be much much happier than we are now.

The only question in my mind is when will the last shoe drop? All the pieces are in place. All it will take is a gentle tap and it will all come down.

My gut has told more for over a year now that Obama gets re-elected.

    • SEAL

It saddens me that most people still don’t understand the real problem facing the country and therefore continue to make the same mistake of misidentifying the problem. The elites keep us arguing about Republicans and Democrats. This is intentional.

Basically what you are saying is that there is no real choice because both parties are the same. This is true for one reason. You are comparing Republican Progressives with Democratic Progressives. We needed to elect Non-Pregressives. Unfortunately that has become a moot point now because the progressives have taken us so far down the wrong road that a collapse of our economy or out of control inflation are the only two avenues out of this mess. Neither will end well.

I agree that the only Non-Progressive person running is Ron Paul. The thing that makes him unelectable is his foreign policy. He is either very naive, ignorant, or a total loon. I do not know what is in his heart so I can’t choose which. I will let everyone else figure out which in their own mind but the fact is that he would get 10s of millions of American civilians killed if his foreign policies were ever implemented.

  • Gordon

If you read the book “UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES” you will find the solution.

Romney is the republican obama. Gingrich, obama, romney, etc all all insiders. The big problems are government spending and income tax.
Ron Paul is the solution and he is the only one that is not an insider and that has addressed these issues. When the main stream media said Ron Paul is unelectable, I knew he was the solution.

  • igotadose

Let me see if I have this right: Michael is advocating for more government intervention in business – people in jail, companies pay more taxes. And, tariff wars with China ,who own huge amounts of American $$ because of iPads, Walmarts, Sony’s, xBoxes, …. Someday Michael will actually make a sensible suggestion, not just regurgitate talking points and shill for the MRE/gold/water filtering advertisers of his. I know, lets all go back to the gold standard! Ron Paul says to, and he should know, after all, he’s against that pesky Civil Rights act, the Voting Rights act. In fact, lets have zero goverment, break it up, issue everyone a sidearm, and duck!

The only way to defeat the machine, is not be its slave. If the US doesn’t adopt something like China’s one-child-per-family policy, then government will continue to jolly along and grow, industry will continue to have eager mouths to buy their products and eager slaves as workers. But, no one can do the math and instead rail about symptoms, not causes. Overpopulation is *the cause of all these problems.*

    • Michael

      Not quite right.

Overall, I think there should be much less regulation on business.

But down on Wall Street they have been getting away with bloody murder for decades and hardly anyone is every held accountable.

And I have made it very clear that I would like to see all income taxes eliminated.

But if we must pay taxes, then we should eliminate the loopholes.

Hard to see how anyone can argue much with those points.

    • jaxon64

your analysis is ridiculously over-simplified and inaccurate. Caucasian and black populations in the USA have been falling for over a decade with whites now having only 1.5 children for every 2 adults. If not for immigration-both legal and illegal- the US population numbers in the last census would have actually fallen from the 2000 numbers……An interesting trivia number for you…. there are 171,904,640 acres in Texas..enough for a half acre of land for every man, woman and child in the USA- a family of 4 would have 2 acres of land in Texas and THE ENTIRE REST OF THE COUNTRY would be devoid of human habitation. If we factor in apartments, condos, high rises, nursing homes, indigents etc etc, the population of the United States is easily sustainable for the resources we have in the USA. If we close off our borders then our national population would actually be shrinking. Coincidentally, the populations in ALL of the major countries of Europe are also declining yet they also are sliding into a financial abyss. So your weak analysis backed by little to no supporting fact is just plain ridiculous……..

  • Old Man

Well you can’t say Obama is not politically smart.

He saw the Occupy movement and aligns himself with them. “I’m with you 99%!” He labels his strategy ‘fairness’. Just like “Yes we can!”, “Hope”, they sound so good to the dumbed-down. The smart ones know, of course, such words are utterly non-implementable.

Just to make sure, Obama adds a sense of action-plan to his inspirational words. See, he going to make things ‘fair’ by revamping the freaking tax codes.

Yes, Obama is going to fix the tax codes to make things ‘fair’. My spreadsheet blows up when I try to enter the number of pages in the tax code.

If you believe Obama The 99% Man, you certainly deserve twice as much the screw you got from G W Bush when he proclaimed he is the ‘compassionate conservative’.

  • len bondy

the “PLAN” I heard from Obama in his most recent speeches was this…..”no matter what I say I am going to do the opposite. When I say we are going to create new rules to protect americans from fraud artists, what I really mean is that we are going to do NOTHING about the fraud artists who brought our economy to its knees”. (applause from the room) When I say we are all in this together, what I mean is, that about a thousand of the richest people in the world are in this together, and all the politicians in the room are in it as handmaidens…..(more applause) “but no, I am not talking about the american people……..unless by “in this”, you don’t mind carrying the burden on your backs………”

I used to admire this guy, but now I see puppet strings above him every time he speaks…….poor USA, what a waste of a great country, great people

  • Dave

I think Obama is on this wild spending spree on purpose and knows what he’s doing. His goal is to literally bankrupt the nation and have riots in the street when the currency collapses so he can have an excuse to invoke martial law. Obama has even been selling out his own country by sharing our secrets with our enemies. He hates America and American exceptionalism. Even Romney strikes me as someone who’s more patriotic. Will he screw over America? Certainly. But that doesn’t change the fact that Obama is an American-hating socialist who wants to create a United States of the Socialist Republic. Even avowed progressive socialists like Wilson, Teddy Roosevelt, and FDR had more love of country and American exceptionalism than Obama does.

  • Klean

does anyone have any idea what they are doing? especially when it comes to the economy?

come on over china, we’re ready to take back what you’ve been given?

    • Hate to tell you Klean, but China is fundamentally in worse shape than the U.S., China has built just as of an illusionary economy as the U.S. has and is ready to implode too. The difference is that most Chinese have had years of hardship, low standards of living and poverty, thus they will be able to handle such an implosion whereas, the good people in the U.S. are soft, accustom to comfort and plenty.

  • bongstar

right on lennie and elias you are both correct! more people need to understand the true agenda. I belive that most have been fooled by polotricks. the agenda is aperant and clear as day most just dont want to hear about it, and the others have there indoctrinated views and refuse to listen to facts. Too many empty ended articles and comments every where on the net. thats why i belive people should gather info from every source possible left, right center, economical, radical, and foriegn. then do the math and add it up. its clear as day! destroy the last road block to a new world order.

Back in 1989, in Argentina, there was this guy running for that country’s presidency, named Carlos Saul Menem. He gained huge popular support with his campaign slogan, “Sigueme!” That’s Spanish for “follow me!” I used to subscribe to a magazine called “World Press Review” at that time (are they still around?!)

At that time, Argentina was in the midst of hyperflation and economic crisis (tends to happen a lot there). The people were looking for a hero. Menem would take the stage, make a speech, and then say, “Sigueme! Yo no los traicionaré! Es mi promesa! (I will not betray you! It’s my promise!)

Menem was elected President. It didn’t take long for him to betray the Argentine people.

    Sound vaguely familiar?!

  • Questionman

I didn’t and won’t vote for President Obama, but what a stupid comparison. President Obama doesn’t represent my values, but I don’t believe he’s a coward or is trying to destroy our nation. He certainly hasn’t resigned his post unlike Sarah Palin, who did quit in the middle of her term in office. and since it was George W. Bush who helped steer our country into financial danger! The collapse occured during Bush’s watch and President Obama has been trying to pick up the pieces.
Sorry you can’t face the facts you resort to calling me the 1%, even though I’m not rich. and Ludicrous… Infantile reasoning… You may of course disagree with his politics (I do on many issues) but to say that he HATES america is preposterous… Why do I even bother to try to explain to these racists……… *sigh*

  • Winston Smith

With the demise of guilds, we no longer have a way to train people in apprentiships, etc for future self employment or cooperative ventrues. Hence, bot htsides talk about “jobs”, where a fellow gets to drive and work for someone else, often surrendering talents and self esteem. ALso, no personal responsibility. A owner has to take responsibility and leadership.
The “class warfare” talk is a communist technique and one that both Parties and their people engage in often. It breaks down to A vs B, all who is against who, again, a marxist technique and one that Dems, Repubs, Limbaugh, etc excel at and make a lot of $$ off.

  • S.Quade

There have been a lot of wrong-headed politicians (all are sociopaths) but this one is worse than others by a factor of 10,000. He is a totalitarian (think Stalin), but since our fellow citizens voted him in, what has to happen has to happen in order for people to learn the lesson of putting people in charge of the US economy and military who do not have US interests as their first priority. Sad, but it happens every few administrations; Roosevelt; Johnson; Carter; Clinton; Obama. The wreckers. Then come the rebuilers, then the wreckers again. When they are let loose, time after time the same things happen. You’d think we’d learn.

  • Kent J

How old do you have to be to learn that people who are brilliant in a book learning way are by no means smart in other ways. Clearly this dufus has some level of book learning smarts. He won the presidency. That takes smarts. What kind of smarts does it take to create a budget that brings on a bipartisan unanimous NAY vote? I mean cant even a third grader make a budget that no one will vote for? I am finding it harder and harder to see what anyone who voted for him SAW in him. I never thought he was a great speaker, god i hate his cadence, ughgh. I take it back. he is not even book learning smart. He is only claw your way to the top smart.
