The Obama Jobs Plan: 10 Reasons Why It Is A Bad Joke

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

So that was what we have been waiting for?  That was what all the hype was about?  With a little over a year until the next election, that was the “best shot” that Obama has for fixing the unemployment crisis in this country?  The Obama Jobs Plan (also now known as “the American Jobs Act”) is going to cost $447 billion and it is going to do next to nothing to create more jobs.  Many Americans were hoping for something bold and new from Obama, but instead what they got was a bad joke.  When Obama stated that there is “nothing radical in this bill”, he was not kidding.  Instead of addressing the fundamental issues that are causing job loss, Obama wants us to spend half a trillion dollars on measures that will only create a very small number of jobs.  Sadly, much of what Obama is proposing actually consists of huge bribes to middle class voters.  Obama is trying to keep his own job, and he appears willing to pile up even more debt in order to make that happen.

During his speech to the nation, Obama instructed Congress to either “pass this jobs bill” or to “pass it right away” 16 different times.  Obama obviously feels very strongly about his jobs plan.

But will it work?  Let’s take a few moments to break it down.  The following are 10 reasons why the Obama jobs plan is a bad joke….

#1 The payroll tax cuts are going to cost more than anything else in the plan, but they will do very little to create jobs.

Just take a look at what is happening right now.  Have the current payroll tax cuts done much?  No, the unemployment rate is still over 9 percent.

Yes, the new payroll tax cuts would be deeper and they would put some more money into the pockets of American workers.

But if American workers go out and spend it on stuff made in China, how does that create more jobs for American workers?

Businesses would certainly welcome the fact that their payroll taxes would be cut, but it probably will not entice many of them to hire more people.

Because they know that the tax cut would only be temporary.  After just a handful of months the payroll tax would go right back to where it was before.

Businesses are not often moved by temporary tax cuts.  If you want tax cuts to really move business, then you need to make them permanent.

So does that mean that I am against these payroll tax cuts?

Absolutely not.  I very much hope that payroll taxes get cut.  I am all in favor of the government taking as little money from me as possible.

Look, if the federal government is going to destroy our financial system anyway, I would much rather keep as much of my own money in my own pockets as possible.

So yes, I am all in favor of payroll tax cuts.

But no, those cuts are not going to do much to create jobs.  If payroll tax cuts were going to create a lot more jobs we would already see it happening.

However, if this is passed it will be a great bribe to voters because millions of Americans will see their paychecks go up and when that happens they will think of Obama.

#2 Obama’s plan to extend unemployment assistance is going to cost about $49 billion but it is not going to do much to create any jobs.

Back in 2009, Congress first authorized an extension of unemployment benefits to a maximum of 99 weeks.  Five times since then Congress has reauthorized this extension.

So has this made a huge difference in the number of unemployed?

Of course not.  If it was going to make a huge difference it would have done so already.

Yes, these extended benefits are easing the suffering of those that are out of work, and yes they are giving them a little extra money to spend, but let’s not pretend that extending unemployment benefits is going to create a whole bunch of new jobs.

#3 Obama is proposing $50 billion in “immediate” infrastructure spending and $10 billion for a new infrastructure bank that will be dedicated to raising private capital to finance infrastructure projects around the country.

Hopefully this will work out a whole lot better than the “shovel ready” jobs that Obama promised previously.

Yes, infrastructure all over this country is rapidly falling apart.  Yes, it is a legitimate function of government to invest in public infrastructure.

But no, this is not going to create a ton of new jobs.  It will create a few jobs, but it will also add to our rapidly growing national debt.

#4 According to the fact sheet on the jobs plan released by the Obama administration, direct financial aid to state governments will prevent up to 280,000 teacher layoffs, and it will also help states retain more police and firefighters.

Essentially, this is a “backdoor bailout” for the states.  Yes, it will be a good thing if teachers, police and firefighters are able to keep their jobs.  However, preventing job losses is not the same as creating new jobs.  So this may help reduce the bleeding a little bit, but it is not going to turn the overall employment situation around.

#5 There are a bunch of other minor things in Obama’s proposal such as “modernizing” public schools and helping more Americans refinance their mortgages, but it is not entirely clear how those things will help create a lot more jobs.

Meanwhile, there are a whole lot of things that the Obama jobs plan does not do….

#6 The Obama jobs plan does next to nothing to prevent jobs from being shipped out of the country.

As I wrote about the other day, right now the way the system is designed makes it highly profitable to send American jobs overseas….

*It is legal to pay slave labor wages in many of these other countries.  After all, why pay an American worker 10 or 20 times as much as a worker on the other side of the globe?

*In many of these other countries you do not have to provide any health care for workers.

*In many of these other countries there are virtually no environmental controls to worry about.

*In many of these other countries there are virtually no labor standards to worry about.

*In many of these other countries you only have to deal with a fraction of the “red tape” that you have to deal with in the United States.

Obama is doing absolutely nothing to address these imbalances.

#7 The Obama jobs plan does nothing about the unfair trade practices that are absolutely killing America on the global economic stage.

As I wrote about the other day, other nations are manipulating currency rates, they are openly stealing technology from our companies, they allow their workers to be paid slave labor wages and they put up huge barriers to goods and services from the United States and we let them get away with it.  Our trade policies are absolutely insane, and the way that the new “global economy” is structured guarantees that U.S. businesses are going to be operating at a huge disadvantage.  The following are just a few more of the reasons why foreign firms have a huge advantage over U.S. companies….

*Many foreign nations deeply and directly subsidize national industries and the U.S. government lets them get away with it.  That puts our industries at a vast disadvantage.

*The United States has the highest corporate tax rate in the world.  That puts our corporations at a vast disadvantage.

*Many foreign nations do not require businesses to provide health care for their employees.  That puts our businesses at a vast disadvantage.

*Many foreign nations impose very little regulation on businesses.  That puts businesses in the United States at a vast disadvantage.  In the U.S., we have some of the most restrictive regulations in the world.

In 2011 we are going to end up with a trade deficit that is probably going to be well in excess of half a trillion dollars.  According to one estimate, if the trade deficit was totally eliminated it would create 8.4 million new jobs inside the United States.

So why isn’t Barack Obama proposing to do something about all of this?

#8 The Obama jobs plan does nothing about the gigantic mountains of ridiculous regulations that are absolutely killing small business in this country.  According to the Heritage Foundation, 75 new major regulations that have cost U.S. businesses more than 40 billion dollars have been passed since Barack Obama first took office.

The Federal Register (which contains all federal regulations) just keeps exploding in size.  Last year alone, 81,405 new pages were published in the Federal Register.

Right now there is a good chance that you are breaking dozens of federal regulations without even knowing it.

All of this regulation is crushing our businesses and is making us much less competitive in the global marketplace.

Yes, there will always be a need for common sense regulations on business activity.  But what we have right now is an absolute madhouse.

#9 The Obama jobs plan does nothing about the negative effects of Obamacare.  Obamacare is going to absolutely slaughter U.S. businesses.  Look, when most other nations do not burden their businesses with providing health care and we force our businesses to comply with the nightmare that Obamacare represents, who do you think has the advantage?

The other day, I noted some of the effects that Obamacare is already having on the U.S. business community….

According to a recent report from the National Federation of Independent Business, one out of every eight small businesses in the United States have either already had or expect to have the health insurance plans for their employees terminated by the health insurance companies because of Obamacare.  Another recent survey of mid-size and large businesses found that nearly ten percent of them plan to stop offering health insurance coverage to workers once Obamacare insurance exchanges begin in 2014, and another 20 percent are not sure if they will continue to offer coverage or not.  Our health care system is deeply broken and the ones that keep getting the short end of the stick are average Americans.

If Obama was serious about putting Americans back to work, he would do something about Obamacare.

But he is not going to do that, is he?

#10 The Obama jobs plan makes our national debt worse.  Yes, Obama insists that his plan will be “100%” paid for, but he has not told us how it will be paid for.

Exactly where in the world is he going to get an extra half a trillion dollars next year?

Obama probably intends to propose some tax increases that he knows that the Republicans would never, ever agree to.

So, no, Obama’s proposals will not be paid for.

The U.S. national debt has increased by more than 4 trillion dollars since Barack Obama took office.  It is currently increasing by more than 2 million dollars per minute.

We cannot afford to pile huge amounts of additional debt on to the backs of our children and our grandchildren.  What we have already done to them is deeply, deeply criminal.

In the end, some of Obama’s proposals will probably get passed, none of them will be paid for, our debt will get even bigger, and the fundamental reasons for our job losses will remain unaddressed.

So hopefully you can understand why I consider the Obama jobs plan to be a really bad joke.

Tonight, millions of Americans will be sleeping in seedy motels, in their cars or in tent cities.

Just check out these pictures from New Jersey.  Can you believe that some hard working Americans actually have to live like that?

We had the greatest economy that the world has ever seen.

Things did not have to turn out this way.

But they did.

Now Obama has come up with a “plan” that will not fix any of our fundamental problems but that will get us into a whole lot more debt.

Please excuse me if I am less than thrilled.

  • Wiseguy

He really pissed me off. I do not give a rats ass that both dems and repubs have agreed on what is in his bill. Lets read the thing first. This by far the worst president we have had in my lifetime.

    • Xander cross

      What about bush?

  • Fonestar

I live in Canada but I feel bad for you guys. One epic failure of a president after epic failure of a president. Nothing but a revolution will fix this now

    • Wiseguy

Hey, some of us may be moving up to Canada. Got any room for a few million?

    • bobbobbobbob

u r lucky u have efficient health care and we have cadaver care. i know i wont be seeing u in medical school(as a cadaver)but for those other amerikans they will be there sooner or later.

  • Richard Allen

Yup its over…there is no more hopie and changie coming from the big OH….its all on cruise control to the end.

To say the least i am stunned by the Hype and Fail……I really thought he had one for the gipper left in him….

Nothing mentioned about all those millions who can never qualify for any help because they ran out of all benifits a long time ago.

Maybe he should have said swallow your pride and apply for welfare, food stamps and medicaid tomorrow, since congress will never pass anything i will offer.

    • TK

      Richard Allen,

You are correct. If the government can get everyone on some type of assistance, then when it comes time to “cut the budget”, no one will have the heart to.

Oh, wait a minute, I think we are already there. No one does have the heart to cut the budget.

  • credit card nation

more obamanomics of borrow and spend, amazing how washington can drop half a tril on the credit card without even batting an eye. at the rate these folks spend, the new dept limit won’t survive past 2011, oh well just another half tril down the crapper

  • r.bitting

Michael, while you will never fully know what impact your site has had, and is having on the lives of so many, and while I do recognize that the focus of this site is economic in nature. I believe that when all is said and done you will find out that your site served an even greater purpose than preparing the people for the collapse, as important as that is ( I certainly don’t want to minimize that ). You will find that by allowing the people to share their beliefs with one another, no matter how out of the mainstream they might be. And by allowing them to ” battle it out” so to speak, the people stop and consider the validity of their own worldview, which will prove to be the difference between life and death ( and not just physical life or death, but more importantly, spiritual life and death )for many people, as this site is found as a link on many other sites. I am convinced you are being used of God, in what will prove to be truly, the darkest hour in human history. May God bless you sir, and don’t lose hope.. others are watching.

    • Michael

Thank you for the great words of encouragement. Since I started this site, I have been absolutely amazed at the doors that God has opened up for me. I really hope that He is pleased with what I am doing. I agree that we are moving into one of the most important times in human history, and I hope that I can make a difference.

And I agree with you that it is good that people can come here and enjoy an open marketplace of ideas. I try to let the comments flow freely as much as I can.

I agree, but not completely. I believe that where were heading to first is to the most revolutionary civil war the U.S. has ever seen.

  • Sycophants & Quislings All Around

The Pentagon will soon find a way to get the U.S. into a new World War.

We can’t afford a war. No one will be willing to back us. Same thing happened when the Roman Empire fell.

    President Obama: blah blah blah.
Republicans: One Finger Salute (to the prez)
    Michael: Obama is a clown.

    • bobbobbobbob

  • MarkD

All so true. I think the left is even shaking their heads. He is offering a whole lot of nothing. Our leaders have all lost their minds. No dem. or rep. is going to attack the real problems in America. They have all lied so much they are starting to believe each other. We are on a downhill slide and Obama wants to throw a little grease on the hill.

  • Jase

Before Obama was elected I kept thinking about why would anyone want to step into the job of being POTUS right now? You face a problem that has been growing for at least 30+ years and the best you can hope for is to delay the inevitable and kick the problem down the line until you are out of office; which is exactly what Obama is doing and what all the other presidents have been doing as well.

There’s the lure of power and there is the fact that Obama is the first non-white male president, so that alone would make me want to jump in there for at least 4 years if I were him. Never thought I would see a non-white male president even if I lived for another 40 years.

The article is the truth. Obama wants to keep taking on debt to pacify the unions and push back even more extreme layoffs of government jobs, but this is unsustainable. The corporate world seems to be poised on another round of massive job layoffs.

Even if I were president and had control of both houses of congress, what could I possibly do? The government is now at the point where if they cut off seniors, the destitute, unemployed without resources, and others they know the riots and civil unrest has to happen. If you and your family are starving with no options left I really don’t believe arrest and jail is much of a deterrent at that point.

I’m totally against this ‘jobs,’ bill and recognize it for what it really is and am not fooled. I lost 100% of the value of my GM stock, even with the government bailout and also lost out on other companies I stupidly invested in and have to live with the consequences.

Never saw why those companies got bailed out and felt they should have crashed and burned along with the original investors. Why should a corporation as an entity get special treatment and too big to fail status, special tax breaks, and be able to discharge their entire debt in bankruptcy when a citizen can’t hope for a deal even 1/2 as good?

Yeah, the speech was a joke and this plan is a joke. It’s pretty much the same as me saying to everyone here to give me $5 million now and in 10 years I’ll save you $3 million. Or it is like that old popeye thing where whimpy says he’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a burger today.

  • Obama is

Obama is Just A Pawn In Life. The Money That Was Allocated For “Shovel Ready” Jobs Never Existed, IT Was A Diversion By The Government To
Convince People Something Was Being Done While
The Money Was Diverted To Europe To Prop Up There Banks, This Is Why It Has Taken The Government So Long To Come Up With An Answer To
Where The Jobs Are. By Trying To Be The Ruler Of The World This Government Has Done Nothing
But Help Destroy It. And Did Obama Seem To Show
Signs Of Desperation? This Country is In Alot More Trouble Than People Think, God Help Us All.

  • Gary2

How about we help the real job creators like the people who purchase things from businesses than in turn have to hire more help etc.

I am so sick of tax cuts to businesses and the rich which do nothing to help anything.

  • Steve

You don’t seem to understand what it takes to “…fundamentally transform America…”

  • Mark

This is what we get for electing a community organizer. This country needs to understand that progresive policies of the left do not work. I don’t care about the parties. The dems are bleeding us to death quickly and the repubs are bleeding us to death slowly with paper cuts. If this nation is going to atempt to repair our economy drastic changes must take place. Very hard times are coming and we need to spend far fewer dollars through out the government. We need to make the money that we spend go farther.
1: We need to raise the age to recieve social security. The avg. lifespan when it started was about 59 years old. We also need to stop the cost of living raises.
2: I am sorry but we need to cut some of medicare. When it was started medical costs were much lower. Taxpayers should not pay for scooters, knee replacements, viagra, etc.
3: Food stamps should be used for basic bulk foods. They should not be used for sodas, bottled water, frozen prepared foods, etc. We could supply rice, beans, flour, sugar, salt, eggs, hamburger, cheese, and then cook it yourself. A little learning and a little work is good. This would get you by in your time of need real well.
4: We no longer can be the policeman of the world. We have no money. Other countries will have to take up some of the slack. American corporations used to hire american workers, they no longer do so for many reasons. The empire is gone. The days of sending the troops to support global corporations should be over. Remember we have no money.
5: We need to shrink the federal government by at least 1/3. We need to remove many regulations. Cut wages starting with the President and Congress by 1/3 as a start.
6: Use our resources in a sane way. We do not need to tear up our country, but we need to use our own and not buy them with borrowed money from overseas.
7: We need term limits in Congress. One 2 year term in the house in your lifetime. That is all you get and then go home. The same goes for the Senate. One 4 year term at President. No more lifetime political types. No pensions for them at all.
8: I am sure we could find many more cuts to make. If we do not do this now, this bus is going over the cliff. The other choice is to ride the bus over the cliff like lemmings. Go ahead and print dollars and spend spend spend. If we do this spending it will get very ugly sooner than later.

    • Gary2

we need to tax the rich and spread the wealth. Trickle down never works, we need trickle up.

Tax the greedy to help the needy.

    • prosperity for all

Retirement age needs to be LOWERED, not raised! Think this one through, please. There are far too many able-bodied young and middle-agers who need work.
Also, consider the millions of foreigners vying for those same few jobs.
And now, you want to shove Gramma and Gramps in the workforce? This is DISGUSTING.
Way to go to further the destruction of the family.

  • Col

I wish the whole thing would collapse already. Its been years and every year people are saying we are on the verge of collapse but we havnt collapsed. Government and central banks keep getting in the way. How long could they keep doing this? Will they still be getting in the way and people still saying we are on the verge of collapse in 10 years. 20 years. If its going to happen I hope it happens soon because I am sick of preparing for it year after year and wasting my time.

  • mondobeyondo

News flash: Obama isn’t really running the country.

He only says and does what Wall Street and international banking oligarchs tell him to say and do.

The same with Congress. They’re all bought and paid for. These people will do anything to get votes and get elected/re-elected.

How do you get elected? Well, you need money for that. Who gives you the money? Political action committees. Special interest groups. Groups with a bit of “pull” in Washington. Get their approval, and you’re in like Flynn. (Green eggs and ham, anyone?)

The People have little or no say in the matter. We vote these people into office, and immediately they gain god-like powers to rule and make decisions, without our input on the matter, or just ignoring The Peoples’ opinion entirely. (Cases in point: The banker bailout bill in 2008, and Obamacare in 2011… in both cases, the vast majority of the American people were solidly AGAINST those measures. Not that it really matters, of course. They passed anyway.)

Does President Obama care about you?
    Yes, he does.
In so much as he gets your vote in 2012.

    • mondobeyondo

Paranoia runs deep…. cynicism runs even deeper.

Let’s just make Afghanistan the 51st U.S. state while we’re at it. God knows we’ve invested enough lives, treasure and time in those desert sands.

  • liberranter

Yes, it will be a good thing if teachers, police and firefighters are able to keep their jobs.

No, actually, it won’t be. These tax parasites, with their bloated salaries and obscenely expensive and unsustainable pension plans and perks, are already bankrupting their local and state governments. There is NOTHING these creatures do that cannot be efficiently and effectively privatized, at a much more reasonable cost than the current status quo.

  • mondobeyondo

I sent an email to Sen. Jon Kyl, the Democratic senator from Arizona, during the bank bailout fiasco in 2008. I mentioned something to the effect that it was WRONG… to give the very people who are oppressing the masses, a “get out of jail free” card.

(For you political rookies, hee… each state has 2 senators, 1 Republican, 1 Democrat. 2 State Senators. 50 States. 100 members of the Senate in Washington. Arizona’s Republican senator is some dude named John McCain, in case you were wondering. There’s 435 members of the House, but.. ugh, let’s not turn this post into a civics lesson!! Did you fall asleep in high school? Hello, Bueller? Bueh-leeeerrr??)

    Anyhoo… Senator Kyl’s response? And I quote:

    ” ”

Yep. Just what I thought it would be.

    • Highspeed

“(For you political rookies, hee… each state has 2 senators, 1 Republican, 1 Democrat.”

That’s not neccessarily true. Some states have 2 dems or 2 repubs. They are elected remember.

    • Curt W

Mondo you are incorrect, a state can have two republican senators or two dems. how do you think one party can control the senate.

      • Curt W

In fact Kyl is a republican and so is McCain. Arizona has 2 republican senators.

    In regards to item #10…

A brief conversation between President Obama and the famous magician David Copperfield:

Obama: “Can you conjure up an extra half trillion dollars per year?”
Copperfield: “No. I can’t do that.”
Obama: “But you made the Statue of Liberty disappear! I saw it with my own eyes!”
Copperfield: “I can’t make half a trillion dollars appear out of thin air. BUT – I know a fellow magician who CAN!!!”
Obama: “Pray tell, who would that be? The second coming of Houdini?”
Copperfield: “No. His name is…. (drum roll).. BEN BERNANKE!!”

    • TK

      Hahahaha, hehehehehe, I needed that!

  • Old Man

Well Mike, you don’t like Obama plan.

Why don’t we just cancel it then. You know, the Republican love to do that. See, there is no profit for them spending money to help the private sector create jobs for the middle class.

So if Obama does nothing, and the Republican does nothing, the government will just sit, waiting for the chips to fall.

What happened to Egypt will then happen here for sure. And it may even be a Libya uprising.

    Is that what you want?

    • a cruel accountant

      Old Man

The stimulus has not worked for the last 4 years. It did not work for Bush and it did not work for Obama. Why will it work now?

  • Our problem has been in the making for more than thirty years or so. It’s not Obama, Bush, Clinton, or even the next president. It’s all rhetoric and I am afraid it’s a little bit too late! Hasn’t Dich Cheney said that deficits don’t matter? The democrats aren’t better.

  • Grumpy

I didn’t bother to watch or listen to the latest ‘jobs speech’ by the golfer-in-chief (you know, the guy with the ‘laser-like focus on jobs’ for the last two years…). Doesn’t matter how large the ‘program’ (more like pogrom against the middle class) is in terms of $$, any proposed legislation is only designed to save a single job – that of the current occupant of the White House.

  • Highspeed

Obama has given up. Even he knows the situation is hopeless. Greece will probably default this coming week and he knows there is nothing to do but appear to be trying to do something.

He may move to another country and live out his life in ease, but he will know that history will treat him as a treasonous man. He attained the highest office in the land only to drive the final stake into the heart of The American Way of Life. I wonder what the elite promised him, other that the office he now holds?

  • shypuffadder

Where is the original thinking? This “jobs plan” is just a rehash of previous “job” plans. From what I can see, this “plan” will help employers train workers, pay them much less, and the tax incentives for hiring the trainees will offset the cost for getting rid of the higher paid employees. Everything is geared toward helping employers hire much cheaper labor. Employers are only going to “train” and hire employees that are already trained (experience) for the job. Obama’s advisors are flat-out wrong again – this won’t help his re-election. People know when they are being fed rancid pablum.

  • plato’s pug

How do you like that sneaky neo-Fuedalistic “Jobs Bridge Programme”, whereby the unemployed are placed with a company, who “tries them out” for either minimum wage or below? Sounds like an unpaid internship to me. In essence, if this programme passes, then get ready for wages to go down further. Most employers would take the long term unemployed and pay them minimum wage with no benes over a workforce that may have a contract, salary ad benefits.

This is a conditioning process folks—the new normal. Jobs are never coming back from the “giant sucking sound” produced by first NAFTA and now this crazy Asian “free trade” that Obummer is sure to sign even without congressional approval.
The conditioning process is to make American get used to the “new normal” of the slow/fast process of a complete dismantling of wages, lifestyle, retirement, and overall future.

Since you all are against Obama, tell me what would president Rick perry would offer. Or president Ron paul for that matter.

  • Michael, I really enjoy your website as you publish facts and statistics which the mainstream media covers up, ignores, or gives scant attention to. The one common theme present in the comments is WHO IS TO BLAME.
Some want to blame Dems, Republicans, Bush, Obama, or any president living or dead. However useful all the ranting and raving is for your commenters, trying to determine who is to blame is a pointless exercise.

When my roof is leaking, and the rain is coming in fast, will figuring out who is to blame stop
all the flooding? No, of course not. An immediate action is required, by an individual.

We are way past the point of political solutions. Only individual and group action by Americans can save us. Please urge your readers to come up with solutions, and drop the blame game.

Our only way to change the world is how we choose to spend our dollars. Want to help the sick–donate to Saint Jude’s. Want to have more
American jobs–spend $39 a month on American made goods (this will create 2 million American jobs). Sure, it is harder to buy American, but there are many websites (Made in America is one)
that can tell you exactly where to fine any type of product made in the USA. Want to have clean air and water–buy organic. Want to reduce global warming–buy a bike, not a car.
Want to end corporate greed– invest in your local community, not the stock market. Want better health–don’t buy junk food and fast food.

Of course the list goes on and on. But you see the point is WE ARE ALL TO BLAME! Why- because of our poor choices. As Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with same way of thinking that created them in the first place.
Or Ghandi: “You have to become the change in yourself that you want the world to be.”

So please good readers of Michael’s excellent website, stop with all the blame and offer positive solutions. It’s never too late to save the USA, if we start today.

Obama and company just can’t accept their Keynsiean economic models are all total failures. This theory believes the Government just knows so much better than the public how to spend their money. Since the public is sobering up to reality of being broke, Obama feels obligated to order out for more beer (on your credit card) to try to keep the party going. So, while the country is bankrupt, he plans to borrow more money to pay his political buddies, union goons. He plans to tax you for it later to pay for it.

Obamas plan is nothing but trickle down crumbs from his corrupt political pay offs.

  • 007

The only funny part of this is the democrats are actually proposing to cut social security taxes. They never would normally consider this. However, they are just desperate and all of their liberal Keynsien stimulus attempts have failed. So they have been dragged to this proposal kicking and screaming. Their long term plan is to raise these taxes dramatically.

The good news, Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. If this proposal goes through at least we will only be forced to contribute half as much to this corrupt bankrupt program. Also, it may be more permanent than you think.if they are going to wait for things to get back to raise the tax back, they may be waiting…forever.

Ok…here’s the scary part. At my gym, which has televisions mounted *everywhere* (thank god for ipods to tune that sh*t out) but in the damn toilets, the Big O (aka PR Hologram For The Ruling Elite) was spewing out of every single TV–and people were literally just standing around gaping and hanging on every word the loser said. We. Are. Doomed. (btw, you’re supposed to be working out in a gym; what the hell are you doing sitting on equipment/standing in the way watching television??? WTF? Gives whole new meaning to the term “couch potato”).

@Richard Allen: “Hype and Fail”…I freaking loved that!

  • Like most government programs this has nothing to do with creating jobs and more to do with giving contracts and consulting services to their friends.

Here in New Mexico Obama touted a solar panel company that he helped start up with government money (remember green shoots). The company is now out of business and every job that the government created cost the tax payers $500,000.00.

How do you do that? You give contracts to friends who know how to repay a favor!

Having the government say “no worries, I got a big check book” is kinda like your wife saying that she still has money because she still has checks.

Get ready, the crash is coming and its coming soon!

  • Lennie Pike

Someone mentioned a new world war.

The PTB will be forced to begin WW3 soon, and they already know in advance the exact time that it will be necessary for “them” to start it. By using simple addition and counting the gold bars in their vaults on their fingers, and using a super computer to count the number of delivery requests of physical gold and silver, “they” have already easily figured out the exact time to begin WW3.

Actually the initial process of beginning WW3 has already begun with these attacks on Arab Countries. They have already announced the identity of the next Arab countries to be attacked.

These days they admit and announce just about all of the evil they are doing or planning because they know that not many are listening or care, but more importantly – no one will do anything about it to stop them. That is psychopathic evil criminal behavior that is intentionally opposed to God. They must make these admissions just for laughs.

The timing of WW3 has everything to do with their planned loss of control of the present financial system. The fact that they will lose control of the price of gold and silver is the only thing that this timing revolves around.

It is a hugely important factor that affects everything – more than anything, but no one other than “them” seems to pay any attention to this fact.

There must be WW3 for them to keep their power, so that they can continue on with their NWO plans because not all countries (including the U.S.A. after we kick these enemies out) are going to go along with it. They know a lot of people will demand honest money when their financial system ends.

The real fireworks will begin when they lose control of their price suppression of gold and silver. If gold and silver ever becomes money again – they will have no power whatsoever.

The price of any commodity rises when a futures contract is bought, and falls when a futures contract is sold. “They” can create as much fiat money as needed to sell as many contracts as necessary to keep the price of gold and silver artificially low to thwart it’s use as money. Other than God, gold and silver is their biggest nemesis.

The price of gold and silver has risen a lot over the last 10 years because “they” don’t have 100% control – only about 90% control – the price would be 10 times greater in a free market. Their invisible hand of manipulation is obvious if you watch the price movement and margin levels, and how they react in conjunction with related financial events.

When enough people request the delivery option in their futures contract of physical gold and silver so as to put “them” in an impossible situation – the real fireworks will begin. Right now, they can not deliver the amounts of physical being demanded, and are paying up with a lot of extra cash in place of the physical.

Even with all of the fraud in the financial system, and with the PTB seemingly doing anything they want without consequences, there are still financial laws similar to the laws of physics which can not be changed because a true marketplace is impossible to destroy – people will always look out for their own best financial interests. Very soon the Piper will be knocking at the door – with the pyrotechnics expert right behind. is a great website for this topic, and no need to worry if your soul is in the loving hands of Jesus Christ. If it is not, I know that personal rancor is not going to help the situation and strongly urge that you press on (seeking and knocking on the door) with all possible dispatch.

  • Enlightened

One flaw all of you seem to miss is the governments job is to keep it going no matter what. Weather it is a republican or a democrat pretending to lead the country they are puppets. Why are we in debt? Because the government can go to a private banking cartel to loan them what we have all been conditioned and told to believe is worth something from the Cartel that has their name on it. The Federal Reserve a private for profit bank. How do they make a profit? DEBT. End the FED. The fascist police state will wither away because they will not be able to finance it. Maybe we will be able to rebuild our Republic out of the ashes of their failed EMPIRE. We have become worse than the monarchy we fought 200 + years ago for independence. Since our collective attention span is about 6 months we tend to forget History and how all Empires implode. The governments steal from their populations until the populations have nothing to lose. A civil war or a revolution then ensues. Don’t be so naive to believe it can not happen here.

  • patriot alice

The problem is he doesn’t know how to create private sector jobs…..

  • Darren

I wonder if Pres. Obama wants to bankrupt this nation. He obviously doesn’t care about the long term implications this will have on our children and grand children. There is absolutely no way we could ever pay off this debt and it just continues to grow. I question whether he and others in our Government are trying to collapse the economy so they can achieve there “One World Order” agenda. That may sound like a conspiracy theory but I don’t see any hope for this country.

  • Golden Child

Republicans and Democrats are all the same if you haven’t noticed. Why? Because the richest one percent of the population and corporations OWN the government. Favoritism of the ultra-rich and corporations couldn’t be more evident. If Obama really cared about the American people, he would have gave billions of dollars to the general populace instead of greedy corporations who failed “to break even” after they outsourced millions of jobs, stagnated wages and fantastically reduced the power of the greatest consumer population in the world in America who would have been more than glad to buy their cheap overpriced wares if they had the money to do so. If each American was given a million dollars, it would have stimulated the economy by starting thousands of businesses allowing regular Americans to outright buy things like houses, college educations and cars instead of borrowing the money for these things from greedy, all-powerful corrupt banks that couldn’t care less about everyday people. Borrowing money for homes and higher education obviously is rigged against the common man seeing as millions of homes have been foreclosed in the past few years and many recent college grads face the prospect of financial ruin for simply going to college for an inferior education that is worth very little in the “real world”.

Instead of investing in the greater good of the American people, Obama rather create another worthless multi-billion dollar government agency and employ tens of thousands of lazy, dead-weight paper pushers to surf internet porn all day at double private sector salaries while regular working folks pick up the tab. What a joke.

  • MountainHome

It was purely a political speech. If Obama was so concerned about unemployment then why didn’t he cancel his vacation? Or, why didn’t he make this an issue in 2009 when he went to the White House?

His last stimulus was nearly $1 trillion and it was suppose to have brought unemployment below 8% and yet he is now asking for a $500 billion for ANOTHER stimulus. We are all in trouble with this anti-American president.

What is obviously needed here is another look at the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act. Unfortunately, virtually all of the Washington politicians have been bought off by multi-national corporations and the big banks.

Historically before our so called leaders drank the globalism kool-aid, we would have stopped the outsourcing of jobs by imposing tariffs. The US consumer base is probably the largest in the world. Americans buy more stuff then anyone, especially when the economy is good. What have our feckless leaders done? They have been giving away access to perhaps the best market on the planet. The only way manufacturing jobs are going to return to this country is if corporations find their foreign made products cannot compete with American produced ones. A value added or import fee to raise the cost of foreign made products to the comparable US produced price would negate foreign cheap labor. Tariffs along with abolishing Obama Care and easing regulations would produce jobs. Not only would corporations return their manufacturing to the US, but having a level playing field would entice more entrepreneurs to open US factories.
Want to sell in America, then you make it in America. Another plus would be increased money to help pay off the deficit.

Corporate tax at 35% is high, but seldom do any of the big corps pay anywhere near that. In 1950 the corporate share of income tax was near 30% of all income tax collected. Today it is near 6.5%. Part of the decrease is due to the moving of companies off shore. Part is due to the loopholes, tax credits etc that companies use to decrease their tax. A flat corporate income tax would help solve the deficit. Tariffs would force more companies to do business here which increase the corporate share of income tax.

  • Jean

My town was the unfortunate recipient of one of the previous “shovel ready” stimulus projects… and let me tell you about how that “worked out”.

This past winter we ended up with some extensive pothole problems from a hard winter (in an area that normally doesn’t get snow or freezes) along several miles of one of our main streets (2 lane); we are a small historic town, Smithfield, VA that has some many small businesses along the main street.

This project is along a heavily traveled section of town near Main St that has most of bed-and-breakfast places but no sidewalks. So the idea was to make sidewalks and fix the potholes.

This was around March they started working on it and as of early September, still not done! It is also the absolute worse job of any road improvement job I have ever seen. Sloppy work, huge potholes that have gotten worse, gotten filled and refilled at least 7-8 times, but never paved over. So hazardous to one’s tires in one direction, I’ve stopped driving on it although that means I have to travel 3-4 extra miles.

The “center line” (double yellow) was painted sloppily over a bumpy, lumpy mess… hard to describe but in a few parts the lines abruptly jag off with a gap between them for example. The so called sidewalks are a mess, obviously not completed, and the whole thing is a mess and STILL not done. However, they have boasted it was a stimulus project (big signs everywhere).

What appears to be the problem is they hired people who have NO CLUE what they are working on!! I cannot imagine how much money was lost by those small business owners (the b&bs) when people came for a visit and found out just how ugly and nasty it is to try to negotiate around this part of town. More difficult than ever to walk over to the historic part of town and the local restaurants. LESS parking space, and I imagine lots of noise from the work.

A perfect WASTE of taxpayers money, that is for sure!

    • Michael

      Wow – great comment Jean.

      • Poor workmanship by a bunch of local yokels: that’s Obama’s fault!

Instead of just bitching so much, Michael, why don’t YOU tell us how to fix this mess that’s been 100 years in the making? And please be specific…

Maybe Jesus will reappear and make everything nice.

        • Solar

How about you shut up jgouig and go a write your own blog about how you would fix it. I’m sure a lot of people will read it and you’ll be a hero as all the elites in the government realize their folly…
I guarantee you nothing will come of it. As it is Michael is just giving a voice to the frustration out there. And technically by criticizing what they are doing it is actually beneficial input, because some dummies in the government really should stop trying the same strategy over and over. The least they could do is try experimenting a little.

        • pferd

no, this was not 100 years in the making, although obama would like you to believe that,
since he loves blaming everybody for everything. but since our road works requires union labor, (according to fed guidelines) maybe we need to get some real contractors to do the job instead of the overinflated unions. those same union clowns will go to walmart and buy non union chinese crap.
one man said it right. i will support obama as soon as he announces his resignation.
i would even drive him home to chicago.

nixon ran a better and cleaner white house than this moron.
can you imagine if nixon had hired a tax cheater? or if he had interfered with a policeman in cambridge??

          • Tuddy

“can you imagine if nixon had hired a tax cheater?”

Nixon moved us away from the gold standard. He also recognized the government of China which paved the way for the rise of globalization and the current deluge of “non union chinese crap” you bemoan. He’s probably not the best potus to hold up as a beacon of good presidentin’ in the context of our current economic problems.

    • Jake

We too had some stimulus money come to our area. The company in charge of the project was from 1000 miles away. Instead of using one lane of the road to keep traffic moving, they shut down the entire road detouring traffic. We are heavily dependant on tourist traffic in the mountains. This caused the shutdown of a campground, a restaurant and a motel. Some local folks found work on the project but the loss of jobs and revenue from the businesses negate any jobs gained.

And this crowd wants to run our healthcare system?

    • Fed Up

In my state they were found hiring ILLEGALS with stimulus money!

    • Jean

      Thanks Michael and Jake!

jgouig, all I can say to your comment is – there have been a number of other road projects in my rural area (3 others this summer), but as far as I can tell none but the one I described used “stimulus” money.

The other projects I’m sure used taxpayer money also, but under the normal competitive bid process. The work on those was done well, very professional, and completed in a timely manner. So I don’t think blaming the “yokels” has anything to do with it.

Also, I travel from time to time to visit family in New Hampshire, a mostly rural state. The roads there are some of the best maintained I’ve ever been on. In contrast, I suggest you take a visit to Boston some day and visit the “Big Dig”, aka, road project from hell.

    Hi guys.

So long, and farewell, Mr Euro

    • Portuguese Man

You look happy. You shouldn’t. The next door of default is yours.

  • Michael: It is hard to add much to you excellent analysis of this joke.

When governments operate with a fiscal deficit, it is not possible to decrease taxes. Replacing taxes with principal (former taxes) and interest always results in a net tax increase over the long term.

Wealth used for interest payments would eliminate jobs.

To ensure that the American Jobs Act is fully paid for, the President will call on the Joint Committee to come up with additional deficit reduction necessary to pay for the Act and still meet its deficit target. And it would do so without adding a dime to the deficit.

Spending cuts would also eliminate jobs. When governments purchase goods and services, people have to work to provide these goods and services.

Jobs could be created in America by reducing offshore maunfacturing. In Washington, however, there is a code of silence about the negative results of free trade agreements and offshore manufacturing.

  • InArizona

Funny.. I saw the Obama Job’s Plan as being one big huge gimmie to Hoffa and the other union goons!

Who builds/repairs our infastructure? Union contractors. Who repairs schools? Union contractors.

Having some experience in Federal Contract law, I can tell you even if a union shop does not with the bid on a construction job, the contracting officer IS REQUIRED by the JAR and FAR to interview what appear to be the menial workers and ensure they are getting paid Davis-bacon wages. So why would an 18 year old pushing a broom be entitled to Davis-Bacon wages?

So much is broken, I don’t see a fix… corruption through and through!

Obama’s jobs bill speech sounded just a little more dictator-like. He was demanding that it be passed NOW! I heard nothing that would help the average american out. It sounds like he was trying to fire up his union base. The union construction workers will get those contracts but for a little guy independent contractor like me were shit out of luck. Barry just don’t get it. Most construction jobs come from building new houses not renevating schools or whatever the hell he was talking about. This country is getting further and further behind each day. Hey Michael, Is it just me or do you notice that the most popular TV shows are either a pawn show or those storage shows? Its like americans have a sick facination watching peoples lives being torn apart by a bunch of jackyls sold to the highest bidder. I just thought I would point out yet another thread of society coming loose there. I lost all my valaubles to a storage sale too. I get sick watching those people profit from their fellow man’s misery. Oh well.

  • Can’t agree with this. I don’t think the plan does enough but a 1.5% GDP increase in 2012 with 1.2 million – 2 million jobs isn’t bad considering this is about a good as the President can expect with the Republican congress. Check my post for full point by point response.

    • 10 – Impact on National Debt

Snyder: “The Obama jobs plan makes our national debt worse. Yes, Obama insists that his plan will be “100%” paid for, but he has not told us how it will be paid for.”

Rossie: It’s going to be paid for by increasing the deficit reductions to be provided by the “super committee”. Is this a bit of a dodge by the President? Yes. Does it say how the plan will be paid for? Yes.

Rossie: This is $447 billion of spending that might, if we’re lucky, have a 1.5X stimulative effect, putting about $670 billion into an economy of $15 trillion.

      (1) Spending cuts (deficit reductions) will eliminate jobs. When governments purchase goods and services, people have to work to provide these goods and services.

      (2) If part of this jobs plan is financed with debt, you will not see a 1.5X stimulative effect.

      • Obama’s Job Plan May Force US to Raise Debt Limit Again

The problem is that he proposes paying for it over a much longer period. It would be a decade before the Treasury Department would collect enough additional revenues to recoup the stimulus money being spent.

    A little off topic, I know…

    Tomorrow’s breakfast:
Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, and a cup of coffee.
The same breakfast I had eaten that Tuesday morning 3,652 days ago. I rarely make coffee or cook pancakes today. Back then, it was almost a daily ritual before going to work. Did it nearly every morning. Sometimes I’d skip the pancakes, or the bacon or eggs, but not the coffee. Needed something to get me going in the early morning hours.

I was groggy and half asleep when the first bulletins came in. Special report – plane crashes into tower of World Trade Center. My first response was, “Yeah, okay, I’ll catch the sound bites later, I’m tired. Three minutes later, another bulletin. I decided to turn on the TV and see what the fuss was about……

The TV would remain on for the next 4 hours, until I had to leave for work.

Hard to believe – so very hard to believe – that it was 10 years ago. I remember it like it was two hours ago.

I have my own memories of 9/11, and most likely won’t watch the endless coverage on the mainstream news channels. Just a private rememberance of the brave people we lost, and the innocence (what little we still had left) that we lost as well.

    • Michael

    xander Cross:

Rick Perry would offer up more of the same since he would obey TPTB.

But IF……….and it is a huge IF, Ron Paul were elected, he would offer the only solution to our problems – kicking the descendants of the Money Changers out of the U.S. and the hell back to where they came from (The Federal Reserve).

That’s why it is such a huge IF. “They” will either kill him as they killed JFK, or he will drop out of the race as Ross Perot did.

I can tell from what I know about people like Ron Paul, that there is not much of a chance he will cower. Not that Ross Perot wasn’t the same type – it was probably a very difficult choice for Ross Perot to drop out of the race, but he took a look at his poll numbers and saw that he would have died in vain.

Ron Paul’s pole numbers are different – HE IS IN THE LEAD, so he will take on his duty without a second thought – regardless of what you hear in the MSM – owned by the Money Changers of course.

  • HeyNowHereNow

Imagine a homeowner who finds out that his house sits in the area of a proposed freeway bypass. How long would it take for him to get a clue if when the city says that they’re sending a maintenance crew to fix the potholes in front of his house – they show up with a wrecking ball instead? Not too long, I’d imagine.

But when it comes to the economy, sadly the average citizen who can recognize the physically obvious, as with the wrecking ball, just doesn’t get it. There is no plan to “fix” anything. The real plan is to gradually dismantle the economy and everything the PTB originally set up America to be. We have done our part in spreading Corporatocracy around the world, and they are now finished with us. We are a hindrance to their follow-on Globalist plans, and they’re out to bypass us if we’re lucky – and totally enslave us if we’re not.

And don’t even bother writing to your congress-goober. He/She doesn’t work for you, and probably never did in our lifetimes.

Do I have a solution, other than bugging out? Nope. But the lack of a solution does not mean that there’s not a problem (unbelievable that you have to explain this very sloooowwly to many people, but such is edumacation these days). If there is a solution, it is for people to quit whining and pontificating to and about the government as if the government was merely hard of hearing, uncaring or incompetent, and get a real clue as to what’s happening right around them and right now.

It’s long past time for people to put away their childlike delusions about the Good Intentions of Big Daddy/Big Sis’ Government and grow up to finally realize, with cold sweat running down their backs, what this government is morphing into, and who it works for.

That’s really the only hope, at this point.

$450 Billion, They should just send a check for $50,000 to 9 million unemployed people. When those 9 million people suddenly get that amount, they will begin spending it immediately. I had left a comment (which you chose NOT to publish) wherein I basically made FUN of the fact that America is COLLAPSING. I also mentioned the fact that Americans are WAR CRIMINALS, TORTURERS and (mega)FINANCIAL SWINDLERS.

Do you think that NOT publishing my views will make you LESS of a criminal nation? Do you think censure will somehow miraculously SAVE your nation from the IMPLOSION that awaits it? You want to know one of the reasons WHY your country is FINISHED? I’ll tell you. It’s because azzholes like YOU think that ignoring much-deserved CRITICISM and DERISION will somehow make them DISAPPEAR. Just like Obama, YOU also want to WHITEWASH & PAINTOVER REALITY in the hopes that it’ll GO AWAY.

But life doesn’t work that way. The sun will ALWAYS continue to rise in the East and settle in the West REGARDLESS of how hard you try to manipulate the fact or say otherwise. Facts are facts. Go ahead and DELETE my comments and others similar to mine. Go on with your intellectual IN-BREEDING that only allows you to consider opinions and thoughts that COINCIDE with yours.

The United States of America is as OBSOLETE as the critical thinking skills of its inhabitants.

Nice try, but America is an imperfect nation- just as yours. America has sacrificed billions of dollars and many lives for the little freedoms the rest of the world enjoys. I bet your country has received money from America at one time. I think people like you should really think. How about helping us with some encouragement instead of kicking us when we are temporarily down?

30% tax cuts across the board are necessary to create real job growth in this country…

    • Otown Right Guy

I doubt even a 30% tax cut would help much. The massive federal, state, local and personal debt will overwhelm everything else. We have been mortgaging and re-mortgaging the future for so long that there is no future left. Just debt and toxic “assets”. This was all enabled by government and the federal reserve.

The only way out is a Soviet-style breakup of this country.

  • Colin

A major issue I have with President Obama is that he is disconnected from what is happening outside Washington. He spoke about people earning skills at community colleges for a career.

In my state, the cuts in the education budget are resulting in colleges rejecting students and cutting classes. In some districts, the colleges are cutting remedial classes.

These colleges are best suited for training students for four year colleges. They were never designed for vocational training. And, if a student does get a two year degree, they are usually working between $10/hr to $20/hr, depending on the career. These are not living wages.

The best career path in the past was to complete the transfer requirements at a two-year, get the preliminaries out of the way, then go to a four year college to work on the specifics for your career path.

President Obama is pushing the community colleges to do more, and these colleges are pushing back for they have reached and past their limit of what they can do.

    • Otown Right Guy

If you need remedial classes, then you do not belong in college! I am tired of subsidizing morons who want to extend adolescence by going to college.

Some people are simply going to be burger flippers and live meager lives. And it’s typically due to their own choices. Colin is one of them and there is nothing that can be done for him. …living wage

First of all I would like to say: you are an idiot.

Maybe I am a greater idiot for responding to what you said instead of ignoring it since it doesn’t deserve a response. Everything you said was very stupid, but I will respond to only the second sentence of your post so as not to look like too big of an idiot for responding to everything.

The fact that you are an idiot is for sure the reason the ECB didn’t publish your previous comments. You might be able to change from being an idiot some day – so at least you’ve got that going for you.

Your statement: “Americans are War Criminals, Torturers, and (mega) Financial Swindlers” states that ALL Americans are those things. You did not use the word “ALL”, but due to the fact that you did not place the words “some”, or “a very small minority” before the word Americans or instead of the word “Americans” maybe – “the enslaving criminal ruling class”, or “The non-Americans who control The Federal Reserve”, etc., you were stating by omission that all Americans are those things.

Saying that is the same as saying that all of the Jews that died in Nazi concentration camps were responsible for their own murders.

Also, one last thing – you have the right to put it that way if you wish: “the sun settles in the west”, but you are the first one I have every heard to put it that way – everyone else says – the sun “SETS” in the west.

Your English seemed pretty good, so you must be an American who just never noticed that everyone else was using the word “SETS”.

Perceiving reality incorrectly – one of the characteristics of an idiot.

If we ship back the unproductive members of society that have crossed our boarder illegally, that have been protected over the years by our country I belive the unemployment will go down a significan ammount. Sorry, but save the U.S. for the americans and let the rest go back to their respective countries of origin. Obama has been right next to Bush in his effectiveness and needs to get impeched, didn’t they prove right after he was elected that he wasnt even borne in the U.S. as is required to be president?

The only thing it is going to

Was anyone around during the late 70’s when the price of gold ran up to $900/oz? Was there talk of collapse back then, I mean there must’ve been some catalyst going on that would launch gold like that.
How did they eventually fix it? Was this only a US economic thing?
    Any input would be great.

  • Lennie Pike

I apologize for being critical of how you used the word “settle” instead of “sets” – only.

I did not see your first post where it was clear that you are not an American. Many Americans have that punk Che Guevara as a hero also, but the Spanish you used made it clear that you are not an American – you must be Puerto Rican – you should speak English perfectly but don’t (only close), and you should be loyal to the U.S. due to all of the welfare you have received, but bite the hand that feeds you instead – the same attitude of all punks that hold the punk Che Guevara as a hero.

Not all Puerto Ricans have this attitude of course, but a minority does – why, I have no idea.

I also apologize if you’re not Puerto Rican, but you are, aren’t you?

  • Concerned

President Obama did not create the economic conditions that he inherited. He is trying to stimulate the economy. Everything can not be fixed right away, but starting with putting more money in taxpayers pockets especially the middle class who represents America because of consumerism will help.
What consultants like yourself should do is to write about big business, the very wealthy and how they do business. earnings in oversea banks or create corporations in other countries that does not really create any employment. Address that. Why does large corporations send all their
production to countries like China and India or Asia in general so that they can make bigger profits? And, What does the Chinese do, copy and laugh all the way to the bank.
Yes they are sitting on trillions of American dollars. Why does the elite need to create another currency instead of concentrating on building the American dollar.

What is the problem with a country who creates more of the world wealthiest people but whose country is in dire straits. Address that.
    Create a dialogue.

    Thank you,

“There is no darkness like ignorance.”

  • Colin

I was browsing when I came across this article. The manufacturers, like Proctor & Gamble, are concentrating their efforts into creating luxury and bargain lines of products. Products for the middle class are receiving far less attention. If we need one more sign that our middle class is vanishing, this would be it.

Mondo…Wow, I recall wiping the sleep out of my eyes with a cup of coffee. The images seemed surreal. I had so much work planned for the day and a two year old daughter to raise. I shot out the door not to be late for work. Now, the house is gone and nearly everything that was in it. Seems silly now to be in such a rush. I see it all much clearer now. The American dream is a hoax.

Even the Israelites in Egyptian bondage paid less tax than we do (20%) and by the way that word bondage actually means “laborers” in the KJV. Way past time to stop crying to the GUBMINT to save us – they can’t and they won’t. Economic freedom is when you do for self. Jobs means slavery. Get rid of all these ridiculous regulations so that you and I can work as independent contractors, small mom and pop shops like the Amish, we can then hire our own family members and those from our own communities – that’s rebuilding America from the ground up. As it stands laws on the books prevent even little Timmy from operating a lemonade stand, or grandma from selling the vegetables she grows in her own backyard. Get a license to run your own business? Insane! Just a money making scheme. They want you to depend totally on them. Stupid HOA rules prevent home owners from selling goods from their own homes (you don’t own your homes anyway). Run to gubmint bureaucrats to solve your problems means giving away your God-given power. Try getting that power back – they won’t give it up without a revolution. The more laws you have, the more crime you will have. Here is your solution: take a moratorium on running to gubmint to fix things; let the system die its slow agonizing death; prepare yourself and your loved ones as much as you can because it’s going to be a painful death; cut spending, save as much as possible (outside the US if possible); learn a skill that can earn you money; by all means don’t trust banks; network with others of a like mind; have an escape route to another country if possible – that means getting those passports up-to-date because you know they are going to lock down any possibilities of you getting out of the country. You don’t think Pharoah will willingly let his tax base go, do you?

Whoever said it above was right… the system is working as planned – to purposely crash America’s economic system and set up a New World Order to replace the old New World Order. How can you not see it? This has all happened before. So long as you dumbed-down, worker drones elect to have a mere man rule over you, you will see your wealth disappear from your hands and into theirs.

  • 447 billion yes he could easly fix the job problem with this amount of money. An have the unemployment coming back down 5-7% are with in a year. Only if he would take this money an put it in the banks across the united states. So they could lend it ouit to the american people. Thus banks having a 10 to 1 leverge they can loan out. This would be 447 billion times 10, alot of loan money. Problem solved. Or he could do this even better, Have a buy out of social secerity or even a loan on some of the money we paid in. The american people would love it. 447 biullion x time goes along way

  • Lennie Pike

Why would they give to banks to lend to us when their goal is to destroy the U.S.?

About three years ago and upon the “death of my marriage” (I’m divorced now) I decided to never again “volunteer” my money to the federal government… I save what little I can and will soon buy a house in CASH in the name of my daughter where I will live and continuing working my business (IN CASH)… I will soon completely drop out of the tracked economy and will never again answer any mail addressed to my from this criminal unconstitutional federal government!!! DROP OUT TO CREATE A BETTER FUTURE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!!!

  • With the past record of Obama, propaganda and lies what makes anyone think there is even a small hope for this to work out?

In my town there are thousands of people out of work and many others who are working well below the necessary amount of money it takes to live.

with runaway debt, wars, and the devaluing of our dollar, the money we make every week just does not seem to go very far these days!

  • Glench

The 4000 dollar six month tax credit for hiring workers that have been out of work for 6 months or more is a joke… if anything it will create minimum wage jobs for 6 month periods for low skilled workers, companies then would lay off those workers and replace them with new workers in order to renew the 4000 dollar tax credit.

A 4000 dollar tax credit will do nothing to create jobs for skilled workers. For example, a company that has to hire an engineer for 60K a year is going to hire the engineer irregardless of a small 4K tax credit for a six month period.

The federal government is so far out of touch with the business community it’s unreal.

  • Those promises of President Obama are just lies. how sad.

  • Zero D

The best way to solve the jobs crisis is for American men to dump the American girls/women and go abroad and marry a rich foreign lady. Its like killing two birds with one stone.
American men will go from negative cash flow to positive cash flow instantly without having to do a day job!
And the best part is “No Jobs plan required”.

    {{President Obama is pushing the community colleges to do more, and these colleges are pushing back for they have reached and past their limit of what they can do.}}}

I agree, community colleges were never meant to be an extension of high school which is what they have become.

What do you mean what they ‘can do’?? Maybe it is because the students they serve are illiterate & borderline retarded with a below average IQ. These kids aren’t college ready and would be better off digging ditches or working at McDonalds

  • Dave in Scenic City

I’m disappointed with this analysis (as I am with nearly all of the MSM) because it omits consideration of the outlays for our military empire spent primarily for the financial benefit of large corporations. Were these funds available for spending within the country (e.g., infrastructure), our current economic situation would be much less dire.

  • A.S.

Why is that the smartest (supposedly), best-educated, charismatic, and sometimes richest, political leaders, have nothing productive to offer??? Look at Ben Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and many others of past days like them. All of them were drop outs from school (not even made it to high school). And what did they give us? Amazing freedoms, exponential economic growth, and well-rounded morals and social responsibility abound. Does that makes any sense?

I for one could care less if the previous insurance companies go down in flames. In fact, I look forward to it. Step back in time 8 or so years and you’ll find stories of corruption in reference to HMO.

I agree about the jobs plan, however I support it simply for one reason: its something better. Its not great, and it could certainly use some tweaking, but at least its one foot in the right direction. Something most republicans can only stand in the way with arms crossed and fingers waiving.

  • sam w

your arguments are weak and muddled. you claim to be promoting the views of the ublic as a whole but you entirely lack confidence in the americans people to put money they are recieving from tax cuts back into the GDP. You want tax cuts and you got them dont complain because if we increase tax cuts much more then the debt is only going to increase because all the money the government should be paying back is going to be going to us.

    • jellobiafra

You don’t seem to understand the problem. Virtually all of the goods available for us to buy are imported from other countries. When people receive tax breaks they simply purchase goods which go to increase the GDP’s of the manufacturing country. Tax breaks don’t cost anything – it certainly doesn’t increase the national debt. A better way to accomplish the same is to decrease taxes.

If this administration were anything other than a rats nest of fascists (and I mean that in the most literal way) they would be offering private industry incentives to grow industries, stop signing trade agreements which give unfair advantage to others and stop increasing the size of the government. Since 2000 the size of U.S. government has doubled. The government has no money that it does not take out of the pockets of the tax payer and last I checked we were never consulted.

  • not really

Listen, you really need to understand the macro intentions of the policies. You are being more than reckless with your blog, and showing little credible understanding … what would be the other effect of keeping the jobs of teachers and fire fighters. .. you need to think in terms of consequences, what happens if we lose them? Not theoretically, or glib mouthing of what others have said: oh that would be nice, BUT … that is dumb thinking. WHAT happens once teachers are taken out of schools. what happens to classes, what happens to communities – HOW does it affect the economy? WHY is the stimulus needed? what are they trying to do??? start thinking for yourself.

    • jellobiafra

The point of what this administration is doing is twofold:

      1) Ensure that individuals and private corporation have no extra money to invest in private industry so that private industry goes bankrupt and it must be taken over by the government.

      2) Grow government in size and increase entitlements to the citizens who vote in order to buy their votes. Nationalize formerly private industries and effect complete central planning. Voila! We begin with Fascism (the melding of government and private industry where government funds industry it wants and starves industry it does not) to Socialism and Communism. Read “And Not A Shot Was Fired” by Kozak. It is the story of how Czechoslovakia, a federal republic, was transformed legislatively into a Communist, centrally planned state. It will make you look at what this administration is doing very differently.

  • Things will get better. I personally have never had any benefit from this stimulus bill created by Obama. I have heard it has helped some smaller companies and others as well but from what I know I have not had any help or none of my family members had received any benefit from the stimulus package.
