The Rapture, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton And 50 Other Excuses People Use For Not Prepping

Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse - Public DomainHave you ever come away discouraged after trying to talk about prepping with friends or family members that just don’t seem to be interested?  Over the years, I have heard countless excuses from people for why they aren’t getting prepared for what is about to happen to America.  Some of the excuses, like a lack of money, are definitely legitimate.  But in many other instances, the objections don’t seem to make a lot of sense.  In America today, most people let others do most of their thinking for them.  And in general, our political, religious and cultural leaders are telling Americans that there really is no reason to be overly concerned about the future.  They assure us that they have everything under control, and that life is only going to get better in the years ahead.  Bad beliefs lead to bad decisions which in turn lead to bad actions, and most Americans have chosen to believe what the elite are telling them at this point.  As a result, only a small fraction of society is getting physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared for the exceedingly hard times that are rapidly approaching.  The following are 53 common excuses that people like to use for not prepping…

1. “Obama fixed everything that was wrong with America”

2. “When Hillary Clinton is elected she will put this nation back on the right track”

3. “Donald Trump will make America great again”

4. “I don’t have to prepare because the rapture is going to happen before anything really bad happens to this country”

5. “Everybody told me that the world was going to end in September and that didn’t happen”

6. “I don’t have enough money to buy emergency food and supplies”

7. “I’m too exhausted after working hard all day to do anything else”

8. “There is never enough time, and I would rather spend my precious free time doing something else”

9. “The U.S. economy is the greatest economy in the history of the world – there is no way that it could ever possibly collapse”

10. “Whenever we have had a major economic downturn in the past we have always recovered”

11. “Things are never going to get THAT bad”

12. “When things fall apart the federal government will take care of us”

13. “I am going to spend my extra money on fun rather than on fear”

14. “While you guys are sitting on stockpiles of expired food, I will be counting all of the money that I made in the stock market”

15. “When disaster strikes I will simply steal food from everyone else that has been prepping”

16. “The people at the Federal Reserve are very highly educated and they know precisely what they are doing”

17. “Wal-Mart will always be there when I need it”

18. “I’m too lazy to get prepared”

19. “Preppers don’t have a positive mental attitude”

20. “It is anti-faith to get prepared for an economic collapse”

21. “If the economy does collapse, I will just go on welfare”

22. “Nobody can get prepared for every possible scenario, so why bother?”

23. “I would rather save money for retirement”

24. “Obama told me that anyone that says the economy is heading for hard times is just peddling fiction”

25. “The stock market always rebounds to new highs after every crash, so why worry?”

26. “I don’t have room to store anything at my place”

27. “Prepping is something that crazy people do”

28. “I’m not a conspiracy theorist”

29. “I am afraid that all of the food that I store is going to go bad”

30. “All of the people that got freaked out about Y2K look really foolish right about now, don’t they?”

31. “Instead of being ultra-paranoid, I would rather just enjoy my life”

32. “If things get really bad, the people in my community will just band together to take care of everyone”

33. “If society did completely collapse, I would not want to go on living anyway”

34. “I’m too lazy to learn how to grow a garden”

35. “If you assume that the worst is eventually going to happen, then you don’t really believe in America”

36. “If something happens I will just run out to the store and grab what I need”

37. “If all of my debts are wiped out during an economic collapse I might as well live it up now”

38. “When things hit the fan I will just go live with my relatives that have been prepping”

39. “My spouse does not believe that prepping is a good idea”

40. “Prepping seems so complicated and I don’t know where to start”

41. “I don’t have to worry about preparing for a major disaster because that is what FEMA is for”

42. “There is no way that the supermarkets could ever possibly run out of food”

43. “Once I get my student loans and credit card debt paid off then maybe I will start thinking about prepping”

44. “My relatives are already convinced that I am a nutjob – I don’t need to make it worse by stockpiling buckets of food in my garage”

45. “What would the people at work think?”

46. “If there really was a reason to get prepared they would have told us about it on the news”

47. “People have been predicting doom and gloom for years, and yet nothing has happened”

48. “If I do prepare, angry mobs will just come and steal it all at some point anyway”

49. “Look at how fast technology is advancing – there is no way that things could completely fall apart now that humanity has so much advanced knowledge”

50. “We live in the greatest country on the entire planet during the greatest time for humanity in the history of the world”

51. “I have no intention of becoming a card carrying member of the Tin Foil Hat Brigade”

52. “If we are all going to die anyway, what is the point of prepping?”

53. “There is always more time – if I don’t get prepared today I can always get prepared tomorrow”

If you would like to learn more about how you can get prepared for what is immediately ahead of us, you may want to check out an article that I recently did entitled “70 Tips That Will Help You Survive What Is Going To Happen To America“.  It contains quite a few little “nuggets” that many people don’t commonly think about when it comes to prepping.

Personally, I think that it would be very nice if normal life were to just continue indefinitely in America.  That way I could just sit up on my mountain and enjoy a nice quiet life with my family.

But the truth is that we are moving into the greatest time of chaos that any of us have ever experienced, and those of us that have been preparing are going to need to step forward as leaders.  It is during times of great darkness that light is needed the most, and during the hard years ahead there is going to be a crying need for people that have great strength, great courage and great love.

So do you have any excuses that you have heard that you think would make good additions to this list?  Please feel free to share them with the rest of us by leaving a comment below…

What I find so incredible is people who still refuse to accept the Bible for what it is. Not so long ago the Bible was a lot of history and predictions for the future. Today, it is a lot of history and current events. Probably the only prediction left to come to pass is the return of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and that one is certainly on the cards and, as far as I am able to understand, pretty close at hand. The lack of preparation reminds me of the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins.

Damascus has to be destroyed, never to be inhabited again. If I am not mistaken, that is the last “Old Testament” prophecy to be fulfilled.

      • MaxRockatansky33

Damascus will be obliterated by nuclear explosion, done by isis or Israel. But that means World War III.

        • GSOB

          Luke 12:5

          • MaxRockatansky33

I don’t get it. What this quote have to do with destruction of Damascus by nuclear bomb?

          • GSOB

WHO does the passage refer too?
            Do you know Him?

          • MaxRockatansky33

Are you suggesting that God will destroy Damascus with an earthquake?

        • Mad Monkey

Desolation of abominations is nuclear war that we have to flee from see Matt:24 – it is one scripture still to be fulfilled. Look at the description of the impact.
Matt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judæa flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

          • Ricardo

The Desolation of abomination is the Papacy.

          • Heidi K.

No, they only play a huge role within the antichrist system.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Snotty religious people are the antichrist

          • Heidi K.

The abomination of desolation is the antichrist who will set his statue in the rebuilt Jerusalem Temple to be worshiped. This is going to take place in the middle of the 7 year Tribulation period, and this is the sign for the Jews to flee to the mountains!

          • Gary

That portion of prophecy in Matthew 24 had to do with the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. A parallel passage to Matthew 24 is found in Luke 21:20-23: “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
            (21) Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
            (22) For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
            (23) But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

The abomination spoke of by Christ were the Roman armies and their standards, which they worshipped. On the top of each standard was an eagle with a sunburst (It’s also interesting that we have that on the back of our dollar bill).

When the original Roman army arrived to siege the city, they withdrew for no apparent reason (at least in Jewish reasoning). The Christians, remembering Christ’s admonition, fled to Pella. Later, the Roman General Titus returned with an army and sieged the city. This time no one escaped. Over a million Jews died in the siege.

These days were called “the days of vengeance” by Christ, because the Jews rejected and crucified the Lord of Glory. Remember the parable of the vineyard in Matthew 21? What happened to those who slew the son of the vineyard? Matthew records: “He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons … Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof” (Matt. 21:41, 43).

However, a similar fate awaits this world (see Ecclesiastes 1:9-10).

            Blessings!

This is really interesting – google pictures of Damascus now and before the “civil war” started – they look like the city is almost destroyed now.

        Damascus is definitely TOAST soon.

That is a big prophecy from the Old Testament, but it’s certainly not the last one to be fulfilled! Ezekiel 38 & 39, Psalm 83, Isaiah, Zechariah, and of course, the prophecies about the second coming of Jesus Christ! We’re not there yet, but it’s all closing in soon!

    • MaxRockatansky33

The kingdom will not be of this world.

        • GSOB

          Another excuse.

That’s because Christ is not of this world. He is the bread which came down from heaven. He who eats this bread will live forever.

If you are in Christ, He who started a good work in you will complete in the day of Christ Jesus.

          Sanctification is in this world.

If you are a child of the true God then the Father has transferred you from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light. You are now light and salt in this world which belongs to Christ.1 Corinthians 3:21, 22
Christ Jesus is the King of Kings now and is the maestro man who conducts the movement of love between the Holy trinity and towards us singing the chorus of praise to His name. We are gifts from the Father to the Son.

That’s is what happens to us by
          Holy Spirit.

Yes, but Michael is writing about prepping for a shortage of basic needs. Things like toilet paper, meds, food and water to gold and silver. How long does one prep for? 30 days? 6 months? 5 years? Everything will run out over time. If there is a total breakdown of social services, people will try to rob you. People will come to your door asking for food and water. What will you do? Board up your house and turn everyone away?

Instead, as a Christian, Michael should use this site as a ministry and point people to Christ if “all hell breaks loose”. That is the ONLY answer to whatever comes our way. Instead he is telling people to prep for a upcoming disaster. Why? Because the love of money is the root of ALL evil. Just look at all the advertisers on this site. They would not be here if there are not a certain amount of “hits”. To turn this website into a Christian ministry would reduce the “hits” on this site.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

      • Just a thought, don’t get mad

Have you ever thought that food, water could be an instrument to lead a person to Jesus? A person on an empty stomach doesn’t want to hear about Jesus. They want food for the physical body. Listen to your stomach in Church about 12:00 or so.
Remember Joseph in Egypt… God does not change

        • JB

Exactly. Knowing what is coming to America, it’s pretty plain that people are going to be desperate. They’re going to be humbled, and they’re going to be more ready to accept the Gospel if you are the one also giving them a can of food and clean water, a blanket, etc. The Christian response should not be to just trust God for ourselves and preach. Preaching might help people now, but America is soon to be a ripe mission field. Preparing with an others mindset (How can I help those around me?) is the love of Christ in action. The question is what do you do and how do you do it that gets a little hairy. How do you keep your family safe while still helping those who are desperate?

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

The majority aren’t prepping because they think that people like Michael are quacks… and I’m not going to argue that point with them.

          • Betty J Rousey

In my Bible Jesus says there is no way to prepare, and that since nobody knows when it will be, nobody is even supposed to worry about it…

          • Mike

Jesus said I told these things to you before hand?why so we may not be caught of gaurd.

Mathew 10:42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward. You are correct in this matter. Also did Jesus himself not feed the masses?

For those who ignore the Sermon on the Mount and other advice of Christ they are going to Lose what they Seemeth to possess (Matt 25:29, Mark 4:25, Luke 8:18) and be ground to powder. (Matt 21:24, Luke 20:18). I can see this in my own life during periods of lack of faith/belief.

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 2Peter 3:3-5

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:21-22

#51 I have already become, a member of “the tin foil wallet brigade.’

        • afchief

OK, let’s assume you give water and food to a family. This family tells another family and another family and so on and so on until you have hundreds of people at your door. And all you food and water is gone.

Joseph interpreted a dream for Pharaoh about 7 years of famine. Have you heard from God to store food and water? Or are you operating out of the flesh. When I read Matt 24 about what it will be like leading up to the Tribulation I find no economic crash. If the church is here for the tribulation do you have enough food and water stored up for 7 years? Will you hole up in the wilderness and hide yourself from all human contact?

Christians are NOT thinking this so called “economic crash” through. Instead of listening to the Holy Spirit they are listening to the flesh!

          • Kenneth Pearsall

Why do you attack this one, and use my quote. Why do you attack Michael, when he is going where God has led him. Oh, and Christians are not thinking things through. All of them? God put me, where I am. And yes he told me to store up, the food I have, and water also. You seem to spend all your time judging your fellow Christians. That is not of God.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

afchief is frustrated.. his wife left him for a normal man

          • afchief

I’m attacking no one. Christians are walking in fear because they think they will have no food or water or whatever if there is an economic crash. Is that scriptural? How much has God told you to store up? 6 months? A year? Show me in scripture where an economic collapse will happen.

Christians keep pointing to the old testament such as Joseph and Proverbs, but never point to the New Testament like Matt 6:33 or Philippians 4:19. Why? Christians are actually miss-using the OT. I’ve read books of people like Smith Wigglesworth how he had no food and would gather around his dinner table and pray with his family and thanking God to meet their needs and then suddenly someone bringing food to them. I have read countless stories like this.

I see Christians operating out of fear around hear and lacking in faith that God will meet their needs in life. Totally unscriptural!

For all the millions of Christians on the earth, do you think all of them have heard from God and are prepping for a disaster? Or is just the handful of Christians on these fear-mongering sites that have bought into it? So all those Christians who have not prepped are going to die? They are not walking by faith? Is that what you are saying?

          • Kenneth Pearsall

So you consider this site fear mongering. I have no fear, nor does Michael, nor do most here. You seem to have motive to disrupt, perhaps even destroy this site. Is that your purpose? Throughout history, food has been put aside. For Winter, for emergencies, for times of shortage. So all these people were foolish? Does God intervene, and help people, yes. He has used people here, for that very purpose. You seem to be the man on the track. A man stands on a track, and sees the train coming. He can step off the track, at any time. But instead he shouts. I will show my great faith, God will stop the train. Matthew 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Guess how it ends up. That is what I see you doing. Or is it possible. You have been sent here, to disrupt? With what someone considers a Biblical script? Trolls in the past have been atheists, and mostly ignored. Next would someone send a troll. That appears to be a Christian. Knowing they would last much longer. They would know the words, but lack the understanding. Only God, knows a man’s heart. So I can only wonder. As to your question. Where does the Bible speak of an economic collapse? Ezekiel 7:19New International Version (NIV)

            19

“‘They will throw their silver into the streets,

and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean.

            Their silver and gold

will not be able to deliver them

in the day of the Lord’s wrath.

It will not satisfy their hunger

            or fill their stomachs,

for it has caused them to stumble into sin. Also economic collapse has happened in the past. Why ask, what you already know.

          • afchief

Yes, fear mongering. If you are prepping how long has God told you to prep for? 30 days? 6 months? 2 years? Again, what will you do when others come to your home looking for food? What will you do when people try to rob you because they know you have food? What will you do when your food and water run out?

Every Christian keeps quoting the OT. Never the NT. Why? What does Matt 6:33 mean to you? What does Philippians 4:19 mean to you? When Jesus talked about the end times in Matt 24 there was no economic collapse. What we should be looking for are what’s listed in Matt 24 and what happens in Israel.

When Jesus became hungry in the wilderness what did he do? He quoted scripture and said man does not live by bread alone but by every word of God.

God has not given us a spirit of fear. But of power and love and a sound mind 2 Tim 1:7

For we walk by faith not by sight. 2 Corinth 5:7

          • Kenneth Pearsall

Yup, you just stay on that track. End of discussion.

          • afchief

            Does the truth bother you?

          • Kenneth Pearsall

Not a very Christian response. Can not have someone drop out of the discussion? Not if you want to keep the board tied up. You show your true intent. You are indeed here to disrupt.

          • afchief

I’m not here to disrupt. I’m asking Christians were in the NT does it say to prep? Where does it say an economic collapse is coming? Have you heard from God to prep? If so, how long? Why did God tell you to prep for this long? Will you share your food and water with others? Or will you board up your hose and shoot trespassers? What will you do when your food and water runs out?

            All valid questions!!!

Christians keep quoting the OT i.e. Joseph and Proverbs but never the NT. Why?

          • J

I think the scriptures explain that the last days will be like in the days of Noah, people carelessly eating and drinking and being merry. Just as Noah obeyed God to prepare an ark, many believe God wants us to prepare for the last days. The scriptures state perilous times shall come. We also know the tribulation is 31/2 to 7 years.
Our church believes President Monson is a prophet for our day and he instructed us to prepare 1year of food and fuel and supplies.
At the end of the day, the Holy Spirit will guide us each. I am sure miracles will happen after we have done all that we can do and after the trial of our faith. Sometimes God protects us, sometimes He lets us starve. It is all according to His will. We are to get to know Him and His ways.

          • afchief

In the days of Noah it was violence that destroyed man.

            President Monson?

          • Gay Veteran

“…Show me in scripture where an economic collapse will happen….”

hey Einstein, we had the Great Depression and it wasn’t in the scriptures.

and “god” is going to feed you? good luck with that, though considering your photo you should last a few weeks without food

          • awb22

God has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness, look at 2 Peter 1:3, and didn’t leave anything out. Too bad you god rejectors can’t read, you might learn something.

          • Gay Veteran

learn something? how about the Golden Rule which predates Jesus

          • awb22

            not following your logic

There actually is a passage in Acts that many believe relates to prepping. Acts 11 27-30 Discusses the prophet Agabus predicting a famine. The disciples decided to help as much as they were able. I’m not a Bible scholar but it seems to read that they sent food before the famine occurred.

          • afchief

Yes, Jesus said in various places there would be famines before he returns Matt 24:7. There have been famines since man walked the earth. There are even famines across the earth today.

So how long should you prep for? Why haven’t Christians prepped for famines during the past? The dust bowl? There were no prophets then?

          • Mike

            They where independent already.

          • messianicdruid

I guess I’ll be one of those who take a can of beans or something to the people who did not “consider the ants” but know how to pray.

          • afchief

Again, every Christian on this site quotes the OT. Never the NT.
            Hmmmmm………………

          • messianicdruid

“Never” is a big word. I quoted the Word of God. Jesus said we were to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, Matthew 4:4. You believe Jesus, right? Matthew was quoting Dueteronomy. Is that why you don’t believe it?

          • afchief

Jesus told us if we seek His kingdom and His righteousness ALL things we need in this life will be added unto us. Matt 6:33. Paul stated the our God will meet ALL of our needs Phil 4:19.

            Hmmmmm…….. Are these scriptures lies?

          • messianicdruid

Of course not! Quit being a jerk. Do the verses you quote make the ones I quote a lie?

You are playing the “line drawing game” by drawing a line around certain scriptures and ignoring others. Smorgasbord religion.

The question I have posed to you is, How does God provide for our needs? I can see that He gives us a sound mind and body to work and share with those around us instead of sitting on our hands and waiting on a miracle.

          • afchief

Wow! Such anger! Who is sitting around and waiting for a miracle? God has told us to work. In fact Paul said “he who will not work should not eat either”. But, where in the NT does it tell us to prep? Has God told you to prep? For how long? Will you share with others? With hundreds of people if they have no food and water? Or will you hoard it all for yourselves?

          • messianicdruid

Again you avoid the issue. We are to live by every Word that comes from God. You want to limit it to the NT because you believe the OT “was nailed to the cross”.

I got news for you: the laws and commandments preceded the covenant made with Moses and the Israelites. Genesis 26:5. The things which were added to the laws and commandments, specifically the priesthood and rituals, which made a covenant based on the laws and commandments, were what was done away. Read 1 John 3:4 and realize the NT is also based on the laws and commandments.

Jesus fulfilled the law by living it flawlessly, which the Israelites agreed to do to be justified. They failed just as God knew they would, thus a new covenant wherein it was up to Him to write the laws and commandments on our hearts and minds. Hebrews 8 and 10. Jesus said not one jot or tittle would pass from the law until heaven and earth pass. Where are you sitting?

          • afchief

All of the OT prophesies have been fulfilled except only a few. That is what Jesus was talking about. We are NO longer to follow the OT laws and rituals, period.

Romans 7:6 (NASB) But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.

I guess you are still under a curse if you still want to live by the law. Sad!

Galatians 3:10 (NASB) For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to perform them.”

Are you abiding by ALL things under the law?

          • messianicdruid

So, the verses you quoted from Galatians and Romans make the verses I quoted from 1 John and Hebrews “of none effect”?

Did you think I was telling you to keep the law to be saved (justified)? I’m certainly not doing that because as you noted, one would have to keep the whole law flawlessly to be justified by it.

What do you do with Matthew 5:19, which is part of the New Covenant, or Hebrews chapters 8 and 10 wherein God promised to write the law on our hearts and minds? Are you satisfied with being one of “the least in the kingdom?

            I’m not.

          • afchief

What is your point? I’m talking about prepping. Where in the NT does is say to prep for a disaster? Has God told you to prep? If so, for how long? And why that long? Will you share with others? What will you do when people try and rob you?

          • https://www.facebook.com/godstruth0 godstruth

You’re right, what Jesus said is put on your armor of faith on! All that prep, do not have strong enough faith, and still rely on their flesh and their intellect, and financial breakdown (non scriptural).

So a true Christian, just trusts God, and hopes he will bless him and loved ones/all, with a short personal tribulation and if not being “raptured/transformed” in time, a fast death, and not the worst, being tortured merciless, by cruel people.

            Here’s a little song I wrote

You might want to sing it note for note
            Don’t worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry, you make it double

            Don’t worry, be happy
            Don’t worry, be happy now

            Ooh-ooh-hoo-hoo-ooh hoo-hoo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
            Don’t worry
            Woo-ooh-woo-ooh-woo-ooh-ooh
            Be happy

            Ooh-ooh-hoo-hoo-ooh hoo-hoo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
            Don’t worry
            Woo-ooh-woo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
            Be happy

            Don’t worry, be happy
The landlord say your rent is late
            He may have to litigate

Ain’t got no cash, ain’t got no style

Ain’t got no gal to make you smile

            But don’t worry, be happy

‘Cause when you’re worried, your face will frown

And that will bring everybody down

            So don’t worry, be happy

            Don’t worry, be happy now

The true church of JESUS CHRIST won’t be here during the Tribulation, JESUS himself promised so in Revelation 3:10. We are not appointed to GOD’S wrath! The 24 elders, mentioned in the Book of Revelation, represent the raptured believers. It’s still a good idea to stock some emergency food and water.

          • Gary

Heidi, please don’t just listen to your pastor. Study this out for yourself. The Seven Churches represent seven prophetic / historical phases of the Christian church. The generation, (those which spread the Gospel to the world through the American and English Bible societies, etc.) has passed on. We living in the days of the Laodicean church.

Jesus did not escape persecution. All of Jesus disciples suffered persecution. Paul suffered persecution. “All that will live Godly in Jesus Christ shall suffer persecution” (2 Tim. 3:12). Darbyism is a grave misapplication of the Word.

          • Heidi K.

Please read my comment above: born again Christians are not appointed to GOD’S wrath.

          • https://www.facebook.com/godstruth0 godstruth

You’re right, but again the Tribulation is NOT the great Tribulation, aka God’s wrath! So you will possibly be challenged and even persecuted, worst imprisoned, or even beheaded, sister.

          • Kristin Solo

Of course NO born again believer is appointed to God’s Wrath but born again believers ARE the target of Satan’s Wrath AKA the Tribulation @ Revelation12:12 >>>
‘Woe to the Earth and sea for Satan is come down to you having GREAT WRATH because he knows he has but a short time’

          • Kristin Solo

            AMEN to that!

          • Marty Mann

Your comments remind me of a pastor I once knew who couldnt accept the fact that he may have to suffer for his beliefs. Muslim jihadists dont care to die in any manner for their beliefs but American “christians” think they’re above persecution in any form. Most think persecution is somebody laughing at them for reading a bible. You think because you accepted Christ that he is somehow obligated to rescue you in your darkest hour. Ask the families of the 20 or 30 coptic christians who were beheaded by men with 6 inch blades in Lybia if God came to their rescue just in time. Paul suffered horribly for his faith in Christ and went through unimaginable persecution. You sweety are no better than Paul nor is there a single christian in the US who is above having to suffer to get to their heavenly goal and going through a portion of the tribulation will test your faith and see if you’re as dedicated as you think you are. As you well know you will be required to take a mark in your forehead or the palm of your right hand or face imprisonment or a beheading. We will know then who is a true believer with faith and who just talked the talk but couldnt walk the walk. If Im wrong, theres no harm done, but if you are wrong, then you are in for a hell of a rude awakening to which you wont know how to react. Thats all I have to say about pre-tribs like yourself. I wont comment or say anything further to any of your responses. Good luck!!

          • Heidi K.

You just don’t understand the concept of the Tribulation period and the pre-trip rapture. The Tribulation is GOD’s wrath on the unbelieving world. Born again Christians are not appointed to GOD’S wrath. We have to go through trials during our lifetime but we are not under GOD’S wrath. Our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST promised to keep us from the hour of Great Tribulation (see Rev. 3:10. Please listen to Theologians like Dr. Chuck Missler, Dr. John Ankerberg, Dr. David Regan.

          • watchmannonthewall

You are correct in that those who are in Messiah are not appointed to wrath. However, if you read your Bible you will see there are 7 bowls of wrath that are poured out at the END of the Tribulation, on the unbelievers which CONTAIN God’s wrath. If you then compare this to the words of Jesus in Matt. 24:29-31, where He says, “But immediately AFTER the Tribulation of those days…He will send forth His angels with…”, and He then quotes Isaiah 27:13, which Paul also aludes to in 1 Cor. 15:52, where the “last trumpet” is the 7th in Revelation, the trumpet which completes the mystery of God hidden through the ages Rev. 10:5-7 &11:15-19.

Let me start again: If you then compare the pouring out of the bowls of wrath on the unbelievers, after the 7th trumpet, to the words of Jesus in Matt. 24:29-31, where He says, “But immediately AFTER the Tribulation of those days…He will send forth His angels with the sound of a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds of heaven (and then Jesus rephrases Deut. 30:4) from the one end of the sky to the other”, now we have confirmation of the order in which these events, including the rapture, and tho outpouring of wrath occur, or in the OT venacular, “the regathering of His people”, occurs!
Best to prepare! You will be here a long time! Don’t believe your preachers on this matter. They learned it just like you did, from their teachers! We study to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen that do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth! Blessd be His Name!

Deuteronomy 30:4 actually says He will gather His elect from the one end of the EARTH to the other, but the Hebrew text actually speaks of the resurrection of the dead coming UP out of the earth as did Paul in 1 Thess. 4:16-17. Paul had to memorize the entire OT as the student of Gamaliel, in Hebrew(Acts 22:3). One can’t memorize something like this and not be intimately familiar with the whole writing, something many preachers of today would do well to consider before the wrestle with Paul’s words to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:14-16).

          • Heidi K.

The whole 7 year Tribulation is GOD’S wrath, it starts with the rise of the antichrist, peace is banned from the earth, war and killing will break out everywhere. The Book of Revelation is chronological, You can see that the 24 elders who represent the raptured church of CHRIST, are already in heaven before the first seal is opened. The second half on the 7 year Tribulation is called Jacob’s (Israel) trouble” GOD will especially deal with the unbelieving Jews.

          • watchmannonthewall

Actually, the first reference in Scripture that God was going to scatter the descendants of Abraham was in Genesis 17:4. The second is in Gen. 28:13-15 when He told Jacob his descendants were going to be scattered in every direction. The prophesy was further refined in Jacob’s prophesy given to Ephraim in Gen. 48:16 & 19 where Jacob said Ephraim woud grow into a multitude of nations in the midst of the earth. These nations are still with us today and they are ALL the sons of Jacob through Ephraim and the Northern 10 tribes. These are the ones who will go through the Tribulation, the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. The problem with the doctrine of the Church today is it only recognizes the TRIBE of Judah (Jews) as still existing. God doesn’t! Or He is a liar in the book of Genesis!
There is no where in Scriture t speaks of a 7 year Tribulation period. The only place 7 years is mentioned in end time prophesy is in Daniel 9:27 where someone makes some covenant for a week. As mentioned elsewhere, this passage of Scripture is especially unclear, even in the original text and among the Bible scholars in the best universities, and there is much dispute as to its meaning. Anyone trying to build any doctrinal position on this doesn’t know what he/she is talking about.
Regarding who is Israel, Paul wrote, “But it is not as though the Word of God failed. For they are not all Israel [he did not say Jews] who are descended from Israel [Jacob], neither are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants. (Romans 9:6-7) Israel is not made up of only of people physically born from the loins of Jacob and the Jews were not the only tribe that came from him. Jacob or Israel includes all who call on the God of Abraham and are obedient to that same God as was Abraham. (Gen 26:5)
Paul added more information in Ephesians 2:11-13, telling us we were “formerly Gentiles” (meaning we are no longer), but now we have become members of the commonwealth of Israel by being brought near through the blood of Jesus and now we are partakers of the covenants of promise. Paul said the Law, which came 430 years after the promises were given to Abraham, can’t nullify a covenant that has already been ratified by God. (Gal. 3:15-17) The Law was simply a written down version of what God had already required of the patriarchs. Mt Sinai changed nothing regarding the promises to Abraham and his
            seed(s)! Not my words, Pauls!
Don’t believe the Jews are the only ones being persecuted during the 42 month Tribulation. They will only be one of the groups of people being persecuted. The far larger group with be those who were “formerly gentiles”!

          • Kristin Solo

You are gravely misinterpreting the Eschatological Scriptures.
The Tribulation is NOT God’s Wrath~it is the Persecution of the Antichrist which precedes the Rapture .
THEN follows the Wrath of God immediately after the Rapture
The Scroll of the Lamb IS chronological and makes this scenario VERY clear. However The Book of Revelation itself is most certainly NOT chronological.

          • Tribtrooper

Absolutely Kristin! If people would take the time to earnestly study the scriptures for themselves and put aside all the preconceived delusion they have heard probably all their lives, ask God to show them HIS truth, they would quickly turn away from all their false teachings and see the difference between satan’s wrath and God’s wrath. It is so abundantly clear when they take off their jaded glasses and see what the Bible really says. I’m sure it is hard to turn from their happy little get out. Of the Trib free card, but better to learn this truth BEFORE they wake up one morning to find themselves still here and the antichrist announcing he is God than afterward. There will be many who will think it was God who lied, but he NEVERTHELESS lies. Men, on the other hand, lie, Lie, LIE, especially the wolves who are about the business of fleecing the flock of God. Se knowlingly and willingly, others who are guilty of believing the lie themselves rather than investigating the Word for themselves. What doe this say about their sincerity though? Not much..

          • Kristin Solo

Absolutely Tribtrooper. Many delusional folk will cling to the Pre Trib Lie out of prideful arrogance like Heidi K, who presumptuously informs those who scripturally oppose and expose the Pre Trib LIE that they ‘don’t understand it’
Ha! That is ironic since neither she, nor anybody else, has yet been able to substantiate the Pre Trib Rapture from the Word of God without radically distorting the contextual Scriptures which clearly reveal that s the Rapture occurs AFTER the Tribulation and Prior to the Wrath of God !

          • Tribtrooper

True, Kristin. They have had this false theory spoon fed to them by their preachers, sundY school teachers all, their lives most usually. These people who push this theory bend and twist Scripture. They literally take a part of one verse and combine it with a part of another verse from another part of the Bible, many times not even the same book, to support their position. Applying this devious practice to God’s Word, anybody can make the Bible say anything they want it to, but if they truly want to KNOW and underatand what GOD wants us to know, they will study the Word in full context, not do a slice and dice job on it, which is just exactly what it requires to support pretrib. I have never personally known even ONE person who seriously studied the Word for themselves who still held to the pretrib delusion. Pastors who went to cemetery — oops, seminaries (not much difference in the end) have been taught how to teach this lie from the pit. These are the same preachers who cling to ChristMAS, Ishtar (Easter is the direct English translation of Ishtar) and “Good Friday” knowing that there is no way on earth to shove 3 days and 3 nights in the space of Friday afternoon to Sumday morning, a period of no less than 64 hours and no more than 72 hours.

God’s wrath follows the rapture and is His Judgment on the wicked!
The saints are called to persevere as overcomers in the tribulation which happens before the rapture.
It’s clear and plain to grasp for those who KNOW the Bible

Dan.7:24-25 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Here we read of the saints at the time of the coming of the Beast of Revelations, being worn out, and given into his hand. Jesus was asked what would be the signs of his coming

In Luke 21 verses 18 and 19 Jesus declared some of those persecuted, would be put to death. Many in the first century church were martyred, and were not supernaturally spared this fate. Jesus also indicates this type of persecution will be witnessed at the time of his second coming. And although some shall be caused to be put to death, Jesus goes on to say, “not an hair of your head shall perish.” Jesus was indicating here that our physical bodies are not what’s important, but it is our spiritual being that he is concerned with. Notice these verses also ,

            A very valid point~ well said !

          • Truthing

Tribulation and Yahuwahs’ wrath are two different things. Some people are going through various tribulations in their lives right now. Those few that make it through tribulation, being sorely tested, will be “caught up” in the sky along with all the dead in Christ. AFTER tribulation, then will ALL of Yahuwahs’ WRATH be poured out on the earth.

          • Kristin Solo

            Precisely!

          • https://www.facebook.com/godstruth0 godstruth

You’re confusing Tribulation for all mankind and great Tribulation, aka God’S wrath. We Christians will have our faith challenged (this will separate those that are mere “believers”, aka false converts, not saved!), in the Tribulation!

          • Heidi K.

There’s nothing confusing about JESUS’ promise.

The Parable of the Servants and their Talent is my favorite for those who think they just need to sit around and do nothing.

Matthew 25:14-30 (here’s part of it)
26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Throughout human history, people have prepared. Maybe for hard times. Maybe just for the winter. My Grandparents had a very large cellar, for just that purpose. No one thought them odd. So what has happened to society? My Grandparents and many others who prepared were Christians. During the depression, they often took some of what they had to the Church. To be given out, to the less fortunate. So yes when someone says, it is anti-faith to prepare. I tend to get a little undiplomatic.

The BDI continues to show a lack of economic activity. Those with funds to wine and dine don’t see the need to prepare. Those who feel the need to prepare don’t have enough to do so. And then there are all those excuses above.

You guys knows Jesus is alive and talks to his Children today, Right? Why do you quote an old history book What has Jesus said to YOU lately? Jesus is not in a book, he is in the spirit. Jesus sent the Holy Ghost, not the holy bible. The devil uses the bible because it is in the flesh. He rules the flesh. Jesus is in the spirit, not in something you can hold in your right hand or memorize in your forehead.

      • REALIST

Can you back up your statements with any form of evidence? You insult someone else saying they “quote an old history book” when YOU DO the exact same thing. Your belief structure is 100% based on this old history book. Some nerve you have. Jesus? Old history book. “Holy Ghost”, old history book. The Devil (from the Sankrist word for “divine”): old history book.

        • Bob Johansen

No, it is not. I have met Jesus. If you think someone can’t meet him, you don’t even understand the bible that you worship. The bible is an idol.

John 17:17 If it is not the truth it is not God’s Word.

          • Bob Johansen

“Logos” is more complicated than just meaning a written word. Perhaps it is you who should study. In the beginning was the spirit, not the word.

Okay Bob. You win. You made your point.

          • Bob Johansen

It was translated to “word” to control people.

The bible can be made into an idol. What do you want me to study? Did I tell you to study?

          • GSOB

            Peace be to you.

From the NT read Matthew 4:4.
There you’ll find the kingdom perspective response from the incarnate King Himself

When Jesus was tempted to the uttermost as we are, He quoted from
            this OT passage.

            Deuteronomy 8:3
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that …. (here it is ) …
“man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.”
The Scriptures equip us for every good work God has for us to do. His Spirit empowers us to do His will. They are God breathed. God bless those who feed upon His word, the Bible. They are a comfort to read.
I think it is the most fantastic book ever written.
Just enjoy Psalm 119 and you’ll see what I mean, … I hope.

          • Bob Johansen

Who said the Bible is his word anymore? Do you know who commissioned the first 50 Bibles? Do you know he faked his conversion to Christianity to consolidate his power? He considered himself the vicar of Apollo, the beast. Also, It is historic fact that King James, 6th of Scotland Born 6/1566 who authorized a bible with 66 books, was a homosexual. The bible is an Idol. The bible is the mark of the beast. God is not in a book or anything you can hold in your hand or perceive with your normal 5 senses. He is in the spirit.

          • Gay Veteran

“…It is historic fact that King James, 6th of Scotland Born 6/1566 who authorized a bible with 66 books, was a homosexual….”

            oh noez, Teh Gay!

          • Bob Johansen

Gay means “joyful.” Don’t you find that offensive? I do. I know gay people who are super serious and are not skipping through the tulips all day. “Gay” is liberal social-political construct to get more votes. Socialists always try and control the language to control people. Think 1984. Homosexual is far more appropriate. It actually means what it says.

          • Gay Veteran

gee Bob, you go around telling other minorities what they can call themselves?
do you tell African-Americans that they are neg roes?

          • Bob Johansen

How do you know If I am a homosexual or not?

          • Gay Veteran

            avoiding the question:

you go around telling other minorities what they can call themselves?
do you tell African-Americans that they are neg roes?

          • Bob Johansen

What if I am African-American? And they/we are Negroes. Those are the 3 “races” according to anthropology. Are white people allowed to call historical “Negro Spiritual” music it’s correct title? Should it be changed? I don’t think the people who suffered, wrote, and performed that music would appreciate you changing things around. Should white people be nervous to even talk about it? Well they are, and they shouldn’t be. It’s just more liberal language control. I think you need a serious dose of George Carlin. Look up “George Carlin racism” and laugh, and maybe learn a thing or 2.

          • awb22

When it is written on your heart and mind He uses the Word (as opposed to the bible) to remind us of stuff. You always need a double witness to avoid making up stuff and confusing others.

        • Bob Johansen

So nothing in the bible is “made up?”

          • messianicdruid

Our Adversary has definitely provided versions that lead astray by changing words etc. This is why you must ” study to show yourself approved, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth if you “hunger and thirst after righteousness.”

          • Bob Johansen

          • Heidi K.

Nothing at all! The bible is GODS word: “All scripture is GOD breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproach for correction and for training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

          • Bob Johansen

You are deceived. The scripture you quoted actually refutes your point, not supports it.

      • bigskygrl

        Even Jesus quoted the scriptures.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

          yes He did…………

        • Bob Johansen

That was in the old covenant about the old covenant. Jesus didn’t succeed at becoming messiah until AFTER he shed his blood. MTH, MRK, LK, and JH were accounts of his ministry in the old covenant. It was not for you. You can read about it as history, but the new covenant is the holy ghost, not the letter, which can be corrupted. That’s why Jesus came in the first place, the law and scriptures weren’t succeeding, rather, the people weren’t living up to them.

          • Heidi K.

JESUS said to the woman at the well: I who speak to you am HE (the Messiah).
He sealed the new covenant with His blood.

          • Bob Johansen

No. He was sent by the Father to be the messiah, that was the plan. But he could have still failed. Those messages were not to you. The devil could have tempted him, or he could have wimped out from the pain. But he didn’t; He loved us so much he endured till the end. You are mixing up the old covenant and the new covenant. Close the book and get in the spirit.

I will say as a railfan and conductor for CSX Transportation, that while in the Roanoke, Va. area today I saw something that I have NEVER seen before. There was 3 tracks in the yard that as far as the eye could see on all 3 of these particular tracks were NS locomotives that were stored with no cars to move (approx 200 locos). There were no switching crews working and we only saw 4 trains in a 12 hour period leaving or entering the yard and what container trains we saw were very short. Not sure whats going on. Three rail lines have been closed in the neighboring areas well. Economic downturn? Perhaps.

Not sure but I frequently take these railfan trips and I am so blown away that NS and CSX have closed so many key rail lines in the southwestern regions of Virginia, Ky, W.Va., Tn, NC. and SC. Norfolk Southern closed the Virginian Rwy line from Princeton to Elmore W.Va. They have now closed the Wyatt Cut-off from Richlands to Dismal Va. CSX has severed the old Clinchfield line that spans 5 states. That line is the same line that runs through Erwin Tn. that the author mentioned in another post. You could have never convinced me that this would ever happen a year ago. This was a major north-south connecting route. Im really, really surprised about all of this.

this is something Michael referred to in his article “Economic activity is slowing down faster than experts anticipated” 2 days ago. I’m in the maritime shipping domain and the ongoing BDI collapse is something that portends horrors to me

      • REALIST

IS the BDI collapse due to LESS things to ship or TOO many ships built in the last 5 years?

        • A guy from Ukraine

Good comment. The major reason for the BDI collapse is the glut in the shipping capacity. Too many excessive ships have been laid at shipyards at “boom” years following the 2008-2009 crisis, way in excess of actual demand. Now that they are coming into service, there is just not enough cargo so the freight rates keep falling. The problem is exacerbated by the collapsing economy worldwide forming a perfect storm for the shipping community. Although still concealed from broad public, the fact is the world economy is in recession (in fact collapsing). Recession is a harbinger for the depression, so the prospects for the maritime shipping are nothing but gloom.

      • A guy from Ukraine

When the USSR collapsed the globe didn’t stop trurning, so it will when the US goes down.

        • Mike Smithy

Yes, the sun will surely rise from the ashes. However, I have no doubt that the Ruskies whom lived through the collapse wished they had some preps to help them get through the carnage.

          • A guy from Ukraine

Mike, you see Russia has the history of 20th century full of overthrows and collapses (brought about by the western banking cabal). Hunger, hardships and living on meager means has been a matter of a day in this country. Still the misfortunes didn’t turn the people into criminals but had its temper hardened, so Russia has always risen from ashes to shine again. Russia is back through hard times again (even more so is Ukraine) Now that Russia has a President that opened the eyes of its nation to WHO has been behind the woes and what should be done to survive, the country is as good ias nvincible. I’ve been talking to many people in Russia in various regions. THey are ready to endure hardships as long as it takes because they still remember the roaring 90th preceding and following the breakup of the USSR (I was born in 1975 and still have very good memories of the collapse as well). They don’t need ANY preperation now. They can well (and WILL) survive on what they have. They have high spirit and morality, something the western society has lost long ago. I feel the situation with the US will be different, so some good prepping might help. But trust me, no amount of prepping can hold you out for years and the odds are it will take years for the coming collapse to subside. Leave a large city if you can and try to maintain a household in the rural area if you can. This way you will be able to survive what is heading the US. Large US cities will most likely turn into sheer hell and prepping will have a limited effect there.

    • A guy from Ukraine

Years ago I was taking part in the Green Card program year after year to immigrate to the US but failed all the time. Now that I have learned where this world is heading I reconsider my belief that I had a bad luck back then.

  • mtntrek3

    Good list/article.

  • William Lutz

I’m definitely not prepared yet. I live in a freaking apartment and I don’t have much money, although I’m trying to save some. I’d rather live for the moment. I’ll go hide somewhere or flee the country when the crap is about to hit the fan. I’ll want nothing to do with anybody at that point.

    • mtntrek3

My wife, son and I have been putting back a few things as we can afford them the past few years. We don’t have much money or storage room either…… although we have been able to build a small underground shelter over the past few years. Did it mostly cave man style (ha) so to speak as we don’t have the money/equipment to do it otherwise. Canned/freeze dried foods, barter items, ammo, silver, first aid items, survival kit items, etc. are on our list. We’re fortunate to have a water well on our property concerning water. Even a weeks worth of food/water is better than nothing. Buy canned foods and bottled water, drinking straws (water filters) extra batteries for flashlights/radios, candles, matches/lighters, hygiene items, etc. as you can. Take care.

      • A guy from Ukraine

Make sure to add vital medicines including broad spectrum antibiotics with long shelf life to your prepping list. Odds are these may be as rare and expensive as gold itself when SHTF.

        • mtntrek3

Yes…….there are many things to add to the list. As many as we can afford/can obtain, etc.

  • nevergiveup

Thank you for the article Michael – I have been prepping since I started reading your stuff last year. I have invested in shares and have seen them degraded by about 15-20% in the last year. I bought Gold too and because I bought the shares in Euros and the gold in dollars – the South African cash value has increased by about 25-35%. I spent a year in the USA – 1989. Kennewick (Tri-Cities) in Washington State. The Americans I met then were some of the most beautiful, optimistic, confident and special people I had ever met. Hard working, honest, friendly and ALIVE. I could not believe the beauty, and prosperity I saw. It was like living in a dream – a good one. I went to the US again in 2013 – Denver and Hawaii. Regardless of what is coming in the future, I hope the PEOPLE of America can do well. I don’t think you can count on your government to make things right (regardless of who is elected as president). In South Africa, we are in big trouble. We elected a buffoon (Jacob Zuma) who has 6 wives, has been accused of rape & corruption (got away scot free in both instances) and uses tax money to build his own personal compounds. He makes shotgun decisions (like any good dictator) and has run our country into the ground. Obama is a genius compared to him. So consider yourself fortunate :). God bless America – I mean that sincerely.

I bought a gun, taught myself to shoot via YouTube (4th shot was prettymuch dead bullseye).. but I’m still moving to the city.. alone.. and I”m not storing food.

      • nevergiveup

Well done on the shooting! I don’t have a gun anymore. Handed it to the police when our sons started to grow up. I am questioning the wisdom of that now. I live in Johannesburg and things seem to be getting worse. You did the right thing with the gun. Maybe self defnse classes as well if you have not started. Krav Maga is good. All the best with the move Sunny

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

          Thank you :)

          • nevergiveup

You have given me some practical advice there. Thanks Sunny. You sound well equipped and dangerous. Anyone who messes with you is going to be toast. Stay well.

  • Priszilla

Prepping isn’t just hoarding spam and ammo. The biggest part is probably taking care of your health and honing your skills.
The best part is taking your kids out into the wilderness for hiking camping fishing and making a meal out of “nothing”.

    • mtntrek3

Yes, while I have hunted for small game and enjoyed fishing in the past (and somewhat recently) for extra meat to put on the table… I myself need more outdoor survival skills. Good point.

      • df NJ

This is what I don’t get. If you are killing and eating small animals and it becomes a necessary part of your existence, how are you going to live when the mobs of the other 330 million people living in this country start roaming around looking for food. You would not be able to have enough bullets to defend yourself from the foragers.

        • Heidi K.

So true, that’s why people should accept JESUS CHRIST as their personal Lord and Savior while there is time. HE promised to keep us from the hour of tribulation.

        • mtntrek3

There are all sorts of possible outcomes to the extreme times that are coming. Yes, lawlessness will abound in those days as well. I have thought of this very thing you are commenting about. Well….. we just try to do what we can to sustain and protect ourselves. There are no guarantees to anything in this world………. except death and taxes as the saying goes. However, I’d rather do what I can now to help my family and myself prepare for the future.

      • Priszilla

If you want to explore a new city, walk. I walked in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Bangkok, Manila, HCMC. Always great fun. Especially finding food when you don’t speak the local language, and nobody in the restaurant or bar speaks your language.

        • mtntrek3

Sounds like some fun adventures. I was in England for two years while in the service and saw some of the sights there. It would be even more of an experience to go some of the places you’ve been. I can see how walking would enhance the times there.

          • Priszilla

I found most people quite friendly. When I was 16 I walked along the coast in Bulgaria. Didn’t bring water. It was just a 10km hike or so. Went straight into a Bulgarian Army compound and asked the guard for water. They took me in and gave me some tea, and off I went again. Long time ago. When life was easy.

          • mtntrek3

Ha. Yep, that is the way to really see and experience a country ……… getting off the main beats and meet locals/see the area up close. Sounds fun.

    • REALIST

Just watch out for the other hundreds of thousands out in the woods with their AR-15 looking for food, like what ever you have in your cabin or camp-ground.

      • Priszilla

Hundreds of thousands? Unlikely. Right now they watch “The next superstar”. And when it’s time to be in the wood they strain their ankle on the first 50m into the woods away from their car.

  • Phil from Germany

Its the same here in Europe, no difference at all. Easy to believe that so many will die so quickly through sheer lack of fundamentals.

    • Heidi K.

Phil, accept JESUS CHRIST as your personal Lord and Savior while there is time, the Tribulation period is just around the corner.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

        Well said

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

From what we hear, it’s a lot worse in Europe currently.

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

      Heidi K has it right………..

  • lmarkievich

Great opinion piece! #5 slowed me down a bit but I’m glad I did some prepping last year and most importantly, I’m aware. Another to add, sewage backup will wipe most people out, wish I could read more about how to tackle that in cities and suburbs. Although it’s a worst case scenario and even hard core preppers don’t like to go there.

    • Bob Johansen

Just went you thought Jersey couldn’t smell any worse…

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

      Rubber boots?
I really don’t think things will get like that

      • lmarkievich

I hope not. Yeah I did buy rubber boots when I prepped so I’m good there. I don’t think it will be tomorrow but sometime during my lifetime I will need my preps.

  • Madamarcati

I think that the most important recommendation on the list is getting to know and trust your immediate neighbours. Nurture your family and friends and include them in your prepping. Move closer to each other if you are far apart. If family is broken, create a community from those whom you love who are not family in the strict, blood sense.
None of us will survive the final days of rogue governments turned predators unless we replace their diminishing support systems with replacement support systems of our own.

  • Brasilian guy

Excellent excuses. I will use all so that no one knows I’m prepper.

  • Bob Johansen

My excuse is #48. I do have some mineral water and soynuts in my sock drawer though. It’s a start?

It was very uplifting and hopeful last night to hear some strong references to God, Jesus Christ and Life last night during the Presidential debates. Gov. Christie said he defunded Planned Parenthood [planned abortionhood] in NJ and then said there is nothing more important than protecting the unborn. Marco Rubio said I am not a savior, Jesus Christ died for our sins and is the Savior of the World ! GOD BLESS THEM BOTH ! May these great words become action. DEFUND PP NOW, it is a modern day Auschwitz. Compare that to Pres. Obama blaspheming God by uttering “god bless planned parenthood”. God have mercy on his soul. May God spare the faithful. Christi Fidelis !!

    • REALIST

I support OBAMA in planned parenthoods killing of babies as long as the babies are from his community. See, I am open minded. If Obama is in favor of killing those from HIS community, and he does not care about mine, why should I stop him or planned parentlesshood. Now, as for my community, I am TOTALLY against abortion. See how tolerant I am and “middle of the road”. Pro-choice is GOOD. If you are from his community, kill them. If you are from my community, love them. Choice is good. Be open minded. Be tolerant. Enjoy diversity of opinion (like mine).

      • df NJ

God is definitely pro-choice because based on human experiences there is no amount of evil God will not tolerate in order to preserve our free-will.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

You are spending too much time on the courts……….read a Bible……..abortion is murder……God will judge all evil.

  • REALIST

I don’t prep since I believe in the Lord and Jesus. Did he not say, in the Bible, that HE is a loving GOD? That the sparrow doesn’t worry? That GOD answers prayer? Why worry. Put your worry into the hand of the LORD and believe. All of you out there buying guns and spam, are nothing but soulless, Godless atheist who refuse to believe in the BIBLE (which is the only truth). So, waste you money on seeds, sterno and assault rifles. I trust in the LORD 100% and since I have FAITH, I am correct and YOU ARE WRONG.

    • HeyAHuman

That’s such an absurd argument. You wouldn’t even be here now if your ancestors hadn’t prepped with things like food reserves and weaponry. I guess God is going to keep your ATM loaded, your electricity on, your car running, etc? Because I’m positive you use all of these things… and why do you need them when you have the Lord? You’re speaking like an angry ascetic, which you aren’t (you’re just angry).

      • REALIST

No, I am sarcastic. Something you would not understand.

        • HeyAHuman

Well, the sarcasm wasn’t too apparent, considering a lot of the whacked out statements you see here.

    • truth

He’s loving unless you don’t believe in him. Then he is mean and sends you to burn in a fiery pit in hell (to be tortured by satan’s demons) for all eternity.

      • REALIST

That is very true. You are given free will and a free choice. Either believe in this myth and sit in “heaven” for eternity, or BURN IN HELL for eternity. You have a choice. A free choice. And, your choice is? Remember, he is a loving God and you are free to make a choice.

        • df NJ

Isn’t God omnipotent? Then what difference does it make how we decide to God. If God is all-loving then why not just save everyone regardless of their earthly sins or how they practiced their religion. It’s doesn’t cost God anything either way.

          • Heidi K.

Because GOD requires a sin sacrifice otherwise people die in their sins and go to hell. Our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST died on the cross for our sins, He made the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so that all who believe in HIM shall be saved! Please accept HIM now!!!

          • Gay Veteran

            human sacrifice, how Mayan

          • GSOB

We need a savor and a translation from the first Adam to the last Adam.
That is provided in Christ alone.

Well my preparation is to await the promises of Yahwah (God). I believe that those that have asked Yeshua (Jesus) for forgiveness of sin and asked/invited The Holy Spirit to reside in them will be taken up RAPTURED out of this fallen world. This is in The Bible as example Thessalonians 4:17 using the expression ” taken up “. This is referred to as Yeshua ( Jesus ) coming for His Bride and those that have The Holy Spirit in THEM are the Bride. I pray that there are many Bible readers on this site that are preparing for the arrival of Yeshua, as we will soon with a shout be TAKEN UP to meet HIM in the air.

I would encourage you to read the book “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn (in conjunction with the Bible which God calls “living and active”). It is clear when you dig into Scripture that we will be anything but bored in Heaven. It will be eternal Paradise of increasing joy and delight and discoveries! We will work, build, create, fellowship, eat and play perfectly, without any hint of sin or dysfunction or miscommunication. I even believe (this is my own speculation based on solid Biblical implication) that Heaven will contain new animal species, new species of plants and perhaps a wider visible color spectrum. We will likely explore space. We will possibly even have museums. It will be forever and it will get continuously better with Jesus Christ, our glorified King, as the Centerpiece and focal point of everything. He will refresh us with Living Water. Meanwhile, I am storing up stuff to be ready for whatever comes. But I have perfect peace in Christ.

The Bank of Japan just announced negative interest rate manipulation. As a result, our markets reacted with joy by shooting up 200 points. The manipulation continues and believe Obama, Yellon, and the Fed knew this was going to happen and probably even supported Japan to do this. However, in the long run interest rate manipulation will only make the collapse worse and sink us further down the toilet. All this because of an election year where democrats need to win the W.H. and get Hillary in to the oval office. How much longer can they deceive in order to receive. I know one thing we will be the sacrificial lambs. Continue to pray everyday.

Yes, I’m paying Michael for sharing information with others. This contribution helps him support his family for the time he does research to share with us. If he was interested only in money he would be a lawyer right now and not helping those of us who are interested understand Bible prophecy. Very Senior developer with 20 years experience. You may freely associate that experience level with degrees, because yea, that’s reality too.
My skillset is: Visual Studio 2015, C# 4, AngularJS, HTML5 & CSS3, SQL Server or Oracle, Entity Framework, Lambdas, anonymous methods. You get the idea….

            I have a boyfriend of 10 years. He’s a non-Gay Vet.
So your bf was a Marine Corps mascot once upon a time. Color me impressed. Has he ever told you how many times he was demoted for peeing on the commanding general’s carpet (and yes, it most certainly is how that happens)?

and your pretend wife likely left you long ago.. 19 years and your age leaves a big gap somewhere

If she’s pretend, how did she leave me?

Joined the Marine Corps in Aug 1990 at 18, a month after I graduated. Did 6 years in Artillery as a 2531.

Married my wife right around that 6 year mark.

Did 4 more years as a 4067 (software developer) right next to the Commanding General’s office at MCRD San Diego (which is where I met your drooling, carpet crapping bf).

Got out Dec 2000 at about 28 y/o. That was 15 years ago, which puts my marriage at ….. 19 years, my developer seniority right around 20, and my age at 43. Where exactly is that gap?

            You cant count for shyte.
You think claiming you prefer bestiality is an insult to me, and that you’d dump your man for someone with money.
Yea, you’ve got me all boxed up. What a dolt.

I am not against prepping as the Bible clearly says there will be survivors of the coming persecution and tribulation. “So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them. For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.…”

My biggest question is how do you prepare for the unknown without God? What do any of us have that compares with their modern technology and weaponry? How long do you prepare for what would be an unprecedented event for this generation? In viewing the news reports of winter storm Jonas, how do you find protection from such harsh elements for what could possibly take years if ever for the world to return to sanity or until the return of Christ? We simply don’t know. According to scripture if this is the end of the age of grace then things will get much worse as Jesus warns that there is no time in history that is like it, before it or shall ever be in the future.

We would be thrown into complete “culture shock” and it wouldn’t take a lot of time being alone and isolated with those in your immediate camp before someone loses it and distrust takes hold. As I heard a man say on the show “Killing Fields” a geographic region in Louisiana that,“the place is so remote it brings out the demons in you.” I imagine that would happen to a lot of people in an apocalyptic world.

No amount of prepping can prepare us for what only God knows. Sooner or later we would run out of ammo, food, water and medicine. Prepping is a personal choice of faith and the will to live. Either we trust God to lead us or we succumb to either the elements or the system. There are a lot of varying degrees in a world without hope and one where an alternate reality would neglect the needs of the sick and elderly, infants and toddlers, millions of corpses festering with disease, dangerous alcoholics and other addicts not being able to get a “daily fix” along with every other degenerate (murderers, robbers and rapists, etc.) in a lawless land. How many people do you exterminate in order for you and yours to live before you are sick of burying the dead? Would you (we) still be human ourselves? What would become of the correctional facilities and its’ residents? In conclusion it will not only be the strong that survive but those who put their trust implicitly in a Savior which for me personally is the Lord Jesus Christ. As He is the only one who is able and qualified to deliver us from death.

    • df NJ

The purpose of all religion is to provide answers on how to deal with the four great existential questions (who am I, why am I here, what does it all mean, what is going to happen to me when I die).

Each of us clings to our dogma like it is life itself. But if you are capable of having an open mind here’s what I think happens when you die. You know how people who have had near death experiences talk about a white light. At the moment of your death, you turn and look into the face of God. You have two choices. The first choice is to bravely and humbly look into the face of God. At that point, you become so enamored with his infinite grace and beauty that all time ceases to exist and you experience eternal heavenly bliss.

The second choice, for whatever reason, you decide to look away from the face of God. At that moment, God immediately gives you the power of omnipotence. Now at first this may sound like a really good thing. But after millions and millions of years living out all your petty profane desires and imaginations you will become extremely bored. Eventually you will decide to turn back and look into the face of God. This time you don’t look away. And just after you have the thought what the heck was I thinking when I turned away the first time, time will cease to exist as you experience eternally heavenly bliss. Looking into the face of God is the best possible experience one can ever have almost by definition.

Now some of you may be thinking, gee, you die, your turn away from God and you get rewarded with the power of having omnipotence. This may sound unfair if your heart is immature and you take pleasure at the thought of sinners suffering. Or maybe your heart is full of hate and you are seeking revenge against people who have sinned against you. But from our omnipotent all-loving God’s perspective, what better way to win over someone you love so absolutely and completely than to perfectly give them everything their heart desires. The real sad thing is why would you ever waste any of time at all with petty profane desires when you can be looking into the face of God basking in the glow of heavenly eternal bliss. Nothing we can imagine could ever come close to God’s infinite beauty and grace.

      • sistersoldier

And as it is appointed unto men once to
die, but after this the judgment:

“All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.…”

“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;…

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

        • df NJ

What possibly makes you think our all-loving God would treat us as slaves and servants? You cult of authoritarianism is not very loving. An omnipotent God has no reason not to save everyone just out of love. Why is you faith in an all-powerful, all-loving, all-merciful God so weak? I put all my faith in God to save everyone regardless of our sins or how we practiced our religion. My faith is stronger than yours.

          • sistersoldier

Normally I don’t give credence to foolishness as we are warned not to meddle with fools unless they think themselves to be wise. But I will answer you this one last time for conscience sake. You are living in error – you are thinking in error – and your faith is flawed. By your own admission you say that an all loving God will save everyone regardless of their sins. If this statement were true and its not…… then Satan and every fallen angel would be redeemed. Hell enlarges it territory everyday! That must mean that they will have a lot of company. Don’t waste my time.

          • df NJ

Speaking of “foolishness” you only criticize and hate in other people what you do not like about your own character. Do you really think God could not dispatch Satan at any moment with just the waive of hand? Do you really think God did not know exactly what the snake was doing and what would happen to the “apple” in the garden with a naked woman prancing about? Stop being so small in your thinking.about God. God is so much bigger than any of us could possibly imagine. I speculate about what God would be like but unlike you I do not pretend to exactly know the mind of God. If the Bible was not really written by man then it would have mentioned Hitler by name or said something about abortion. The Bible is just recycled zoroastrianism.

You wrote your response with 100% confidence and state that “no one knows”, yet that very statement says that you do know! So does anyone know or do we not know!? You can’t say no one knows all the while unknowingly making the claim that you do! Think about it amigo…

I had a vivid dream a few months ago. It began like an apocalyptic nightmare. People with bloody faces were trying to get inside my house. I was trying to protect my family. People were trying to get in through windows and doors when, in my dream, I suddenly realized I forgot to lock the back door. I ran there just as strangers began walking into my house. It was the dining/kitchen area in the back. At that point in my dream I realized that these people were not trying to hurt my family; they were simply scared and hungry. Then I woke up. I usually do not recall dreams but I remember this clearly. I felt like God was showing me that I need to be ready to show compassion to the people He brings to my door.

Would that gun get heavy slung over your left hand continuosily, as you’re statement seems to imply to along it “over the left” hand?
And no one says all prayers are answered but people pray as a demonstration of faith. So I would argue that praying and showing your faith before God, actually has the opposite effect you think it does before Gods eyes. You’re human understanding, and attempted regurgitation/words of (attempted) wisdom, of a Christian relationship with Jesus and all things related is a little lacking in depth. Do some reading amigo and learn before you put thoughts to a computer screen and make yourself sound undereducated.

The errant teachings of the modern Church has deceived many into believing they will escape the coming economic meltdown . Most will tell you no matter what their blessed Christian life will go on as usual while the globe collapses around them. This is leading them to go forward playing on their smartphones, watching ballgames and having a merry time as the headwinds continue to build toward a colossal economic failure of epic proportions.
What is being prepared now for the world has never happened, there is no historical precedent for it and thus no guideline as to what history might say about it. A search of 8,000 years of history tells us nothing , the Depression Era tells us nothing as that period is minor blip compared to the days ahead of us. All we do know is that it’s on the way and that each one of us should be making preparations .

Barry, do you find it a just a little strange like I do that the Bible teaches the natural order of God and the Universe is exactly the same type of government feudalistic Europe. It’s almost like the Bible is government propaganda designed to keep the monarchy in power. It just seems to me an omnipotent God who needs nothing from us would not fashion his holiest of books after a cult of authoritarianism. You have always seemed to have a strong brain. It’s about sonship, not merely slavery.

        Read your Bible:

        Romans 8:14-16
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,…

        Romans 8:23
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies

        Galatians 3:26
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

        Ephesians 1:5
He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will…

        Galatians 4:6
Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

        John 17:14

“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
        so many more…..

          • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

Hey! Thank you for asking!! I spent three days in Bangkok and seven days on Phi Phi. (It’s pronounced pee-pee) the weather was hot and humid but wonderful. One day we drove to the border of Myanmar and spent the day at a tiger camp. I got to mingle with tigers. I was afraid but they were quite calm and docile until a wild boar decided to run through the camp and they all stood up. The staff quickly responded by throwing rocks at the boar and it ran away and all was well. The food was wonderful, I sampled many fruits (such as yellow pomegranates and a different variety of pineapple, three types of guava and a rosella fruit) and vegetables. The Thai people are beautiful and polite, orderly and wonderful. I love Thailand.

On my way back I spent three days in Shanghai (you’re only allowed three days without a tourist visa) but I’ll tell you that was more than enough. The Chinese are pushy, they don’t form or observe lines (queues), they spit, they shout and Shanghai was bitter cold. And the food was awful.

I landed in Vancouver BC and spent the night then drove home to Portland (6 hour drive) the next day. :-))))

            Luke 17:20-21King James Version (KJV)

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

          • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

That’s an iffy translation of that verse.

          • df NJ

What do you think it means? Give all your money to the church because that is the path to salvation in the eyes of God?

          • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

No. I wouldn’t give a penny to any church.

The last part “within you” is more accurately translated “among” you or just “with” you. Jesus was trying to tell them he (he being the king of God’s kingdom) was right there in front of their faces and yet they still refused to have faith. Some people take that verse to mean a kingdom or the kingdom is somehow inside them. That’s not what it means.

          • df NJ

Then where do you think the kingdom of God is located if not in the heart and soul of man? I do not think they crucified Jesus over splitting the finer hairs of church doctrine.

I think your point of view is against the idea that someone has equal access to the kingdom of God from within as anyone else. Are you suggesting the only way someone can find salvation is by buying it from modern day Pharisees?

          • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

Well it’s also called the kingdom of heaven so most likely it’s located in heaven. But it rules over the earth: Let your kingdom come, as it is in heaven but also upon the earth. You know the Lord’s Prayer right? Jesus was praying for a kingdom to come upon the earth.

Not sure what u mean about buying from pharisees. I don’t believe money buys any position or audience with God or his kingdom.

I think you missed Jesus’s point due to your personal beliefs. I’m not trying to criticize you. Sometimes you have to suspend your personal beliefs (not give them up entirely) to open your mind to new ideas.

          • df NJ

I am not going to pretend to know what Jesus was thinking or praying. I am not going to pretend to know the mind of God. But I have to say the idea that kingdom of heaven “rules over” the earth just doesn’t seem right to me. Here’s why. You can’t have a Lord without slaves and servants. Serving monarchy is not a religion. You would think an omnipotent God who needs absolutely nothing from us would not need or require us to be servants or slaves to His rule. I would think an all-powerful, all-loving, all-merciful God would not be “ruling” us. I think He would be treating each one us like the most sacred and holy thing to have ever existed. Your way of thinking seems backwards to me. I think Jesus was crucified for saying a little bit more than the Kingdom of God will show up among us.

I’m sure and hoping you I can at least agree our one and only true God is all-powerful, all-loving, and all-merciful.

          • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

            I respect that.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

well said sister………saints shall judge the angels.

          • http://www.mindbodygreen.com Kim

You said I was a lost soul and you came to that conclusion from a one word question (which you did not answer) that I asked about prayer in context with the topic of this article. Why did you dodge the question?

I have been studying the bible and the Christian faith for decades and although I am not a perfect woman, I certainly am not lost on the fact the it is a Christian’s duty in accordance with the great commission and two of the greatest commandments to make disciples leading “lost souls” to repentance by a living and being a Christ-like example of faith and love. You say there are many lost souls, that may be. I will say there are just as many false religionists pretending to be Christian in order to beat their fellow man (woman) over the head with cruel judgments. The former (lost soul) can be lead to repentance by a loving example of a true Christian. The latter is blinded by his (or her) own pride and hubris.

          • sistersoldier

I count all things as a loss that I might gain Christ and I do so in all meekness and humility while keeping my flesh under subjection so that after I have witnessed to others I myself may not become a castaway. What you are expressing is your own personal conviction. If you are feeling judgment then it is not my words but your conscience that is bothering you. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus always…Therefore I am not offended for the gospel’s sake. If you are who you say you are in Christ then why are you offended? God is love therefore let your communication be that as one who represents the Body of Christ. If you belong to Him then you should not feel the need to explain yourself to me but rather take it to the Lord in prayer. God resists the proud but he honors a broken and a contrite heart. The comment said the best way to prep is on your knees which is true. Without God you wouldn’t be able to take your next breath. That’s the truth of the whole matter. Because of His mercy you are allowed to see another day. I acknowledge that and I pray that His goodness and mercy will continue to follow me all the days of my life that I may dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Jesus is the that air I breathe so my conversation will always be in the order of what God hates I hate and what He loves I love and I can’t change THAT.

Here’s an excuse you haven’t listed: you can’t prep for system collapse because the system will transform and become totalitarian to prevent chaos. You can run, but like the Branch Davidians, you can’t hide. Preppers think they can escape and be part of a “remnant”. Pure fantasy peddled by spiritual snake oil salesmen.

    • REALIST

In a way, you are very true. BUT the dictatorship will needs slaves after the collapse. So, you may want to live and be one. For that reason, you will need food and water AND the guns to defend your food and water. The Dilemma? Having the guns will make you a target of the coming Dictatorship, but if you don’t have the guns to protect your food and water, you will be a dead future slave. This ain’t easy.

Best thing to do? Have the guns and food, defend yourself, and then when the dust settles, turn in your guns and become a good One World Order slave. That is why they have planned for you anyway.

      2 kings 19:30, 31
“‘O my people Judah, those of you who have escaped the ravages of the siege shall become a great nation again; you shall be rooted deeply in the soil and bear fruit for God. A remnant of my people shall become strong in Jerusalem. The Lord is eager to cause this to happen.

  • VigilanteCaregiver

    1. “Obama fixed everything that was wrong with America”
No; he made it worse and even managed to bring back previously solved problems. Our lives are worse because of him and his gangsters.

    2. “When Hillary Clinton is elected she will put this nation back on the right track”
Mrs. Bill Clinton should be in jail for capital crimes. In the old days, what she did means high treason.

    3. “Donald Trump will make America great again”
He’s the next Obama. He isn’t capable of solving things.

    4. “I don’t have to prepare because the rapture is going to happen before anything really bad happens to this country”
There’s not going to be a “Rapture” before the Second Coming of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. The Saints will be on earth to meet him before He saves the Jews at Jerusalem.

    5. “Everybody told me that the world was going to end in September and that didn’t happen”
That was partially based on data interpretations and some garbage from 4chan. And the “end of the world” is a misnomer; it’s actually the end of the wicked kingdoms and confederations when the Savior comes.

    6. “I don’t have enough money to buy emergency food and supplies”
Many basic food staples are easily affordable. 25 lbs of hard red winter wheat goes for $6 average

    7. “I’m too exhausted after working hard all day to do anything else”
Most of the time, preparing is as easy as purchasing a few extra cans each shopping trip and saving them; over a few months, you’ll have quite a nice start.

    8. “There is never enough time, and I would rather spend my precious free time doing something else”
Ensure your future now, or shorten it later.

    9. “The U.S. economy is the greatest economy in the history of the world – there is no way that it could ever possibly collapse”
There is no perfect system that can survive time much less human drives. This system can collapse and is now collapsing.

    10. “Whenever we have had a major economic downturn in the past we have always recovered”
This is not economic downturn we’re talking about – a collapse ends the system. Besides, just like a savings account, stored commodities help much better during a downturn than a collapse – so why not build one up?

    11. “Things are never going to get THAT bad”
Things have gotten that band numerous times in history. We are all human – and there is no exceptions to this potential.

    12. “When things fall apart the federal government will take care of us”
The federal government no longer functions. A simple review of their register, current divisions, and current programs and the results prove this without doubt. Also, no government is meant to actually provide the basics for it’s people like a mommy.

    13. “I am going to spend my extra money on fun rather than on fear”
Eat, drink, and be merry – for tomorrow you die. Height of foolishness right there.

    14. “While you guys are sitting on stockpiles of expired food, I will
be counting all of the money that I made in the stock market”
The money is only good if there’s something backing those bills, and commodities to purchase. A collapse removes both of those.

    15. “When disaster strikes I will simply steal food from everyone else that has been prepping”
That is a good way to get killed.

    16. “The people at the Federal Reserve are very highly educated and they know precisely what they are doing”
They are beyond incapable. See timmy geithner for a standard example

    17. “Wal-Mart will always be there when I need it”
Wal-Mart’s are the first to get looted and burned in minor scenarios. It won’t survive.

    18. “I’m too lazy to get prepared”
    Obviously

    19. “Preppers don’t have a positive mental attitude”
Preppers are looking at what is and prepare accordingly. It’s distressing when one’s civilization is committing suicide. I’m not in the prepper movement, either: I do it as an extension of faith and home economics.

    20. “It is anti-faith to get prepared for an economic collapse”
That goes against thousands of years of practice. The modern in-demand inventory at many stores is not a reflection of canonized doctrine: it’s a big mistake, if you ask me. Every ancient to modern civilization stored excess food and such for emergencies – that’s normal.

    21. “If the economy does collapse, I will just go on welfare”
Believe me, I’ve been there and WILL NOT GO BACK! It’s a terrible way to live even in good times. There will be no welfare system in civilization collapse as there will be no functioning complex civilization to administer it (unless your with us Mormons, there will be one).

    22. “Nobody can get prepared for every possible scenario, so why bother?”
Correct, you can’t exactly prepare for every scenario. That’s why we prepare the basics with stored information on how to build for the specifics.

    23. “I would rather save money for retirement”
Food storage acts as a on-hand savings account and personal insurance. It will increase your retirement comfort.

    24. “Obama told me that anyone that says the economy is heading for hard times is just peddling fiction”
Obama’s a pathological liar. End of discussion.

    25. “The stock market always rebounds to new highs after every crash, so why worry?”
    Seriously?

    26. “I don’t have room to store anything at my place”
A friend of mine stores his food storage in #10 cans, 6 cans in a box, stacked the boxes against a single wall and secured it all in place with strips of 2X2’s. Total space lost was 14″ X 15′ – he doesn’t miss it at all. There’s a will and creativity – there’s a way.

    27. “Prepping is something that crazy people do”
Basic preparations for a year’s supply of the basics was normal home economics for thousands of years. It’s a very normal thing to do.

    28. “I’m not a conspiracy theorist”
You don’t have to be. Just be a person who wants to save for a rainy day.

    29. “I am afraid that all of the food that I store is going to go bad”
Work it into your normal diet and rotate first in/first out.

    30. “All of the people that got freaked out about Y2K look really foolish right about now, don’t they?”
So? Treat it like a savings account rather than panicking for the world’s end.

    31. “Instead of being ultra-paranoid, I would rather just enjoy my life”
    See #13.

    32. “If things get really bad, the people in my community will just band together to take care of everyone”
Excellent. But how can banding together help when there’s few supplies for so many people? Does your neighbor have it? Do you even know your neighbors? This is something to work on with them: ti’s in all your best interests.

    33. “If society did completely collapse, I would not want to go on living anyway”
DON’T. YOU. #$%&ING. DARE. KILL. YOURSELF!!!!!! It’s survivable. Remember: the part of your plan you fail to look at is the why you planned to fail.

    34. “I’m too lazy to learn how to grow a garden”
Then stop being lazy. Look into hydroponics: takes little physical effort, multiplies returns, can be run on closed utility systems, etc.

    35. “If you assume that the worst is eventually going to happen, then you don’t really believe in America”
How is that even a plausible argument?

    36. “If something happens I will just run out to the store and grab what I need”
So will everyone else. Better to have it ahead of time.

    37. “If all of my debts are wiped out during an economic collapse I might as well live it up now”
Not really. Most collapses historically take a generation or two. You’ll get hosed long before the finale happens. And usually that finale results in a painful transformation.

    38. “When things hit the fan I will just go live with my relatives that have been prepping”
Did they invite you? If not…

    39. “My spouse does not believe that prepping is a good idea”
Sell the idea as a physical savings account: buy low, use when prices are high.

    40. “Prepping seems so complicated and I don’t know where to start”
It’s as easy as buying a few extra cans of your favorite foods. Check out official Mormon websites for a really easy method, system, and discounted foods for sale. Don’t have to be a member to access or purchase from these sites.

    41. “I don’t have to worry about preparing for a major disaster because that is what FEMA is for”
Seriously? Again? Look at New Orleans for their masterpiece.

    42. “There is no way that the supermarkets could ever possibly run out of food”
Supermarkets do not keep large stores of food in the back anymore: usually what’s on the shelf is what they have. Without trucks consistently making deliveries daily a supermarket can run out of food in less that 3 hours during a panic.

    43. “Once I get my student loans and credit card debt paid off then maybe I will start thinking about prepping”
Not smart. We did both food savings and debt repayment at the same time: when money became tight, the food storage fed us so we could continue making payments.

    44. “My relatives are already convinced that I am a nutjob – I don’t
need to make it worse by stockpiling buckets of food in my garage”
When they give you permission to live, then begin preparing. Or are you a big boy who make their own decisions and care for their immediate family while extended family goes their way?

    45. “What would the people at work think?”
If you’re worried about your co-workers finding out – don’t tell ’em!

    46. “If there really was a reason to get prepared they would have told us about it on the news”
Again?! This guy… The news is propaganda and rumor mills; not a public service.

    47. “People have been predicting doom and gloom for years, and yet nothing has happened”
    Look up “normalcy bias”…

    48. “If I do prepare, angry mobs will just come and steal it all at some point anyway”
That’s why you do with a community of your friendly and also preparing neighbors. My preparations involve rabbits and heirloom seeds: I can take a small amount of this and get my neighbor to produce as I do.

    49. “Look at how fast technology is advancing – there is no way that
things could completely fall apart now that humanity has so much
    advanced knowledge”
When you can get as much nutrition from eating your iPhone as a bushel wheat, then you can say so. Technological advancements do not prevent civilizations from collapsing.

    50. “We live in the greatest country on the entire planet during the greatest time for humanity in the history of the world”
EVERY civilization in it’s time has said this.

    51. “I have no intention of becoming a card carrying member of the Tin Foil Hat Brigade”
That’s just a waste of good foil. It’s not a nutjob conspiracy reaction: it’s a home economics method.

    52. “If we are all going to die anyway, what is the point of prepping?”
Go look at any child not aborted for their body parts; they may only inherit rubble and debris, but they still have a chance for a future. That’s why we must survive; to teach them and encourage them to thrive!

    53. “There is always more time – if I don’t get prepared today I can always get prepared tomorrow”
Why put off a good idea?

She is a disgusting human being. She blatantly and knowingly broke federal laws with her careless handling of top secret info. Then on top of that she abused her political power to benefit her husband’s foundation. She should automatically be disqualified to run for ANY political office.

But at least she is Pro-Rape. She got those lying bimbos to shut up when they ACCUSED her church going husband of “sexual assault”. Hilary has always stood up for what is right and these bimbos lied about this rape nonsense. All of them. Women lie all the time about “assault” etc and Hilary is wise enough to know it and crush these lying hysterical females looking for attention.

The problem with buying survival food is that it has such a lousy return on investment. How many of us refuse to eat food from our refrigerators that is only 2 or 3 days old? Imagine eating food that is nitrogen packed and 15 years old. But I know what they are saying when there is no food around you’ll be glad to eat nitrogen packed 15 year old survival food, but it won’t be fun.

My following offer is both serious, real, and sarcastic: I am in the market, today, to pay cash for anybody who is going away in the Rapture. If you have a house, car, jewelry for sale, that you obviously WILL NOT NEED soon, let me know. Now, the price will be low, but then, you won’t have any need for the materialistic junk. You’ll be in heaven. BUT, I want your car, house, gold, paintings, guitars since I intend to go nowhere. Hey,if I can get a 2015 Camaro for $5,000, and you can spend it really fast in the next few weeks, we will both be real happy.

So, good Christians who truly believe (and not you fakes and liars), let me know what you have for sale. I pay in CASH so you can spend it all this weekend.

I served in the military reserves for 12 years. I’ll turn 50 soon and have attended college 7 times in the last 20 years. I still cannot land a decent job. I’ve worked 7-days a week, 12-14 hours a day. I’ve worked 2 jobs 7 days a week. I cannot stay afloat financially. Recently, I had to voluntarily surrender my 2010 Mazda 3.

Yes, people are COMPLAINING. They are trying to survive. But it’s obvious the system is rigged and it’s not in the average person’s favor either.

I have found the solution to this inanity of education after 3 tries at college. I QUIT THE SYSTEM… I became a worker for hire on some work placement company, doing the job and quit again when the contract is done. Go from contract to contract. Not committing my life to someone or a company who has no respect for people.
        .
I have time for myself, to think of my survival, I am not screwed by debts. I even have time for environmental based tasks, like recycling, re-planting and agriculture(arbo-culture, field culture, pottery planting and aceri-culture), which I find a lot more rewarding than any of the lies that the elite have been throwing at me since my childhood, which were about becoming politician, lawyer, doctor or astronaut. Simplicity make me happy.

Many of the skeptics are not are not anti-Christian. I am a Christian. However, I am dismayed that you are only looking at selected issues affecting us all. It paints an overly bleak picture of the world. That’s not to say there wont be major problems and difficulties with readjustments. I know you have harkened on about the Baltic Index. And I have said that many speculators have been involved in adding extra capacity. I’ve seen that happen in dozens of industries and when a big player can kill off their competition they are lauding their business acumen. (It just happened here in the Wine Industry) But you are also ignoring the fact that a lot of freight is now shipped by air. Most of the perishable food shipped from Australia to Japan (and to a lesser extent China) goes by air. Almost all of the high tech goods are now being airfreighted to the west. Plus with the miniaturisation and reduction in size and weight of components the amount of goods shipped is reducing. The last 1years has seen a bubble in high tech exports, but we are at a stage when no one cares if the computer is 10, 10 or 50% faster. The TV’s are big enough and its the content which is more important. SO the amount of shipping is going to drop.
But in jobs everything is changing. Australia has a huge mining and primary industry sector. Recently, the big paying jobs have started to vanish, as the mining companies use the internet to run their operations. Big diggers are now remotely operated (In Western Australia, they run them from Perth – so no remote area allowances) . So, once the day shift is over, they engage staff from India to run the machines. Once they are finished they start a new shift with workers in eastern Europe. The same is starting to happen in agriculture. In fact, farmers can set machines to followed predetermined paths to harvest crops (guided by gps) and now have fewer people to move the grain trucks to haul the produce to silos. Some farmers harvest from their holiday homes in the city. So yes, things are changing . And for many their will be huge dislocations.

Lmao! For those who think Hillary’s email troubles are going away. The Washington Post, one of America’s most liberal newspapers even admitted Hillary is in trouble.

“The State Department announced that it, too, had found “top secret” information on Clinton’s server — 22 emails across seven separate emails chains. The information, the State Department said, was so secret that those emails would never be released to the public.”

“Despite Clinton’s best efforts to downplay and dismiss it, the questions surrounding her email server are growing not shrinking. Friday’s announcement from the State Department should worry any Democrat who thought this issue might fade into obscurity any time soon.”

  • DJohn1

The problem is the way things are set up by the people that set up the rules by which all of us play the game of life.
The system itself is designed to break you financially in your old age.
Even if you have earned and saved it is for nothing.
One major illness by either yourself or your spouse and you are back where you started from minus whatever you have been able to get while things go right.
So in effect you are all wage slaves! Some are smart enough to go into business for themselves and be successful at it. Most work for a corporation or a company and for someone else.
I include myself in that. I worked most of my life for a company.
There used to be a way with health insurance to keep major illnesst from destroying people financially. Most of us are on Medicare of one kind or another when we retire. IF we are able to retire. Because a lot of people are laid off in their 50s. Some have a secondary insurance.
Right now since 2007, my secondary went from a 600 deductible to a 6,000 deductable.
The other design is for failures of one kind or another that are financially destitute. The Uncle solution is Care Source which pays better than any insurance policy IF you qualify by having low income.
The entire welfare system is dependent on people NOT being able to work and NOT able to make a decent respectable living for one reason or another.
The system is designed to break everyone that is average by the time you reach 70.
Intelligent people realize work is futile and use the system instead.
It is communist in its nature.
Our entire school system is designed to produce wage slaves.
Whether it is a college education you never pay off or general work.
Trades at one time were a better solution. To this day the Amish use this system to give their people a way of making a living without going broke from low wages.
The idea of prepping is not Christian. Anyone familiar with the New Testament has seen the verses about not being concerned as God takes care of his own. Even to the birds in the fields.
I knew a man who tried to out give God. All his life he tithed. Only he Tithed as much as 30% of his income. When he died he was worth millions of dollars due to 34 patents he had through his employer. He had been a safety engineer and designed equipment to save people from losing limbs in industrial equipment.
He was diabetic and eventually at 88 got gangrene and had a leg removed. His son continues his christian work to this day. As far as I know the man is now in heaven. He was a Christian while alive.
I personally think we need to keep extra food around to last us while chaos goes on. The time is coming where those that worship money will experience a complete disaster.
I think we should keep a car worth less than 2,000 dollars in accordance with welfare rules. We need to know that car well enough so we can keep it running. Cultivating people that can fix things is a good thing to do.
I think we need to give back to God in our tithe. Whether it is what we have left after paying our bills or if we are so fortunate more.
God does take care of his own. The trick is being one of his own.
My idea of prepping is keeping as right with God as I am able to be.
I am very selective as to where I tithe. But that is a personal decision each of us must make for him or herself.
The current economy makes tithe on the gross almost impossible for a lot of people. I say the gross was never ours to begin with. The net after we pay our monthly bills is the only thing that is ours to do anything with.
Anything you own on this Earth is temporary. The system set up will take it away from you eventually. So do not worship material goods. The only true treasure is the one you are able to earn for heaven.
Even that is only there because of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“Both candidates were seen as long shots against brand name rivals like Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton a few months ago, but have seen their popularity surge as the election race starts in earnest with the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1. They are likely to do well in Iowa, but even if they lose, the fervor they’ve whipped up has upended the race and maybe even American politics.”

The idea that people are “brand names” is everything that is wrong with this country. We are automatons and supplicants to public relations technologies.

Through her continuous research and scrutiny she became an expert on the subject, working on practical solutions for essential Problems:

How can we create a sustainable monetary system?

What characterizes monetary systems which do not collapse repeatedly and which serve us rather than control us?

Where can we find examples of well-working monetary systems in the past and present?

The rapture already happened in 2000. The rest of you all just haven’t come to grips with fact of it yet.

  • Red C. Pedestrian

Good post! While I disagree theologically (I hold to a premillenial, pretrib rapture), I believe everyone should prepare. I preached a message in a Canadian church on prepping (with lots of Scripture) and less than a week later we had an ice storm and blackout. We had three hot meals a day, entertainment in the evening via a battery pack, powered laptop, water, heat and hot drinks. If it had gone on longer we had a generator and fuel. We also have a stocked bug out location if things really get ugly.
Remember folks, the economic collapse is not the problem; it’s the GOAL. In other words, this is all by design to bring in a global currency. Order out of chaos. The incentive will be to wipe out all national and personal debts in return for accepting a global currency. Coming to a neighbourhood near you….Hope to see you all at the Post-apocalyptic mixer!

As you read down you think, that’s funny, ha ha. But they seem to get stupider as you go down. I thought 13 and 14 were as stupid as it could get, but then saw 35 and 36!

15 is the one you really need to prepare for though. I have gotten those cardboard boxes they use in supermarkets to store my tins, so in the event of trouble I can quickly transport my food.

I have no ethical trouble with just disappearing when trouble hits, the trouble is I don’t have a vehicle so would have to convince someone whom has one of the necessity of getting out of dodge.

I believe in prepping AND I also believe that a Rapture is coming from reading scripture.(1st Corinthians 15:52, 2nd Thessalonians Chapter 2, Revelation. How about the scripture about the wise and foolish virgins? This scripture is also about the rapture! Jesus said pray to escape the Wrath to come!

  • george sharpe

Michael, You made a case for the Rapture coming at the end of the Tribulation using Parousia. It was wonderfully compelling for Christians who believe in a “Pre” or “Mid” Tribulation Rapture. Years ago, I too believed “pre-trib” until the Lord showed me something in scripture. I’ve never heard anyone speak to it.
Revelation 6:9 “When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the alter the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God…”. The souls cried out for God to judge the earth and avenge them. God told them to wait a little longer “until the number of their fellow servants and brethren were killed even as they had been was fulfilled”. Rev. 6:11
Revelation 8:3 (Seventh Seal) “Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the alter. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of (ALL) God’s people, on the golden alter in front of the throne.” As you continue to read the verses that follow, the prayers are answered by God, being hurled to the earth as a clear judgment.
As I pondered this, I realized that these prayers which God was answering were the same prayers God refused to answer in the fifth seal. The thing which had prevented God from answering these prayers in the fifth seal had clearly been removed by the beginning of the seventh seal.
The implication was that no more brethren would die for Christ, for the Gospel. That had clealy been fulfilled. My question was, “How can you be sure no one else will die for the sake of the Gospel? As long as there are Christians on the earth, there will always be those willing to give their lives for Christ.” That’s when I realized, “You have to remove all of the Christians”. That would be the RAPTURE.
When I looked back at the end of Revelation 6, it was here that the people of the earth cried for the rocks to fall on them and hide them from “the wrath of the Lamb”. The world was seeing Jesus, clearly his Parousia. It’s after this event that the prayers were answered at the beginning of the seventh seal.
My point, I believe that the Church is finally taken between the sixth and seventh seals, after Great Tribulation but before the wrath of the Lamb (seventh seal), which the righteous are not subject to.
Sorry for the length but I wasn’t sure how to make it shorter.
Keep up the good work. God bless you.

    • Kristin Solo

      A very insightful observation

      • george sharpe

Thanks Kristin. Let me add to this for your consideration:
The sixth seal is a great earthquake. It is so great that it literally is one of the seals. This would necessarily create a geological catastrophe. There would be so much ash, dust, etc., thrown into the atmosphere as to “cause the moon to turn to blood and the sun refuse to give it’s light”. This fits the description given by Jesus in Matt 24:29, Mark 13:24 and by Joel in Joel 2:10. It is here I believe the Rapture takes place.
In Revelation chapter 7, following this earthquake (and, in my opinion, the rapture) you see white robes being handed out to those “who have come out of great tribulation” Revelation 7:14. I believe these are the newly raptured. Then in Revelation 8, the seventh seal, this is where those prayers of the saints are finally answered. What follows IS the Wrath of God on the earth. Notice everything here is in “sevens”. Seven trumpets, seven bowls, seven sensors, etc., a number which is always associated with perfection, completion, and God.
The first six seals are just events which occur when God restrains no more and Satan is come upon the earth for his final push. The church goes through that. It is only the seventh seal, as I see it, that God himself brings judgment on the earth and Satan. The church doesn’t go through that because, as I mentioned, we are not subject to His wrath.
It just seems that, in this view, everything fits without contorting the scripture to force a result we would prefer to believe. I was Pre-tribulation rapture until I saw it this way. I just can’t find any other way to see it now. Maybe I’m totally wrong but this just seems like such a clear picture. The Second Coming and the Rapture are one event.
Thanks again for reading. God bless you, Kristin.

        • Kristin Solo

Hi George~ I entirely agree with your crystal clear exegesis .
The Scroll of the Lamb contains Seven Seals which briefly describe an outline of the major Events of the Apocalypse in chronological order, as they will occur.
God’s Word does NOT complicate nor contradict itself nor does it require spiritual gymnastics in its interpretation .
Yeshua’s own words @ Matthew 24 is the Key to understanding both Revelation and Daniel.
I have always believed that Seals 1-4 reveal the Tribulation, which is Satan’s Wrath, as indicated at Revelation chapter 12 verse12 >
” Woe to the Earth and Sea for Satan is come down to you having great wrath because he knows he has but a short time”
The martyred saints of the Tribulation are depicted at Seal 5 , followed by the Rapture at Seal 6, which describes the cataclysmic signs that accompany the arrival of the Bridegroom to gather His Elect. The Wrath of God is reserved for the unrepentant wicked and is dispensed under Seal 7, after the Elect are removed from the Earth, just as you say. AWESOME huh!

  • sheri

As far as preparing I really am waiting to hear from the Lord because unlike others I read the bible differently as to the rapture — you see when Abraham sent away Ishmael it was because he was born under the prevailing law of the time — (not the law given by Moses) — now Issac was born of God as he opened Sarah’s womb — so this is the first example that law and grace can not mix , always natural then spiritual all the way thru the bible so the Jews never accepted the Messiah , they still want their temple to sacrifice and that is exactly what they will get after we are taken up then Gods time clock starts ticking away to finish with his people — now there are 2 appearing’s of Jesus please read carefully the first is we are to meet him in the air at the trumpet of GOD–Romans 4:14 – 18 –( the believers including the messianic jews) — now the second appearance, Jesus will come as the lightning out of the east and shineth even unto the west (all men shall see him at this point) Matt 24 : 27 – 31 now this is the trumpet of the ANGEL to gather his elect yes the jews …. so please as Lord Jesus wants us to do study for yourself and let God find you worthy as he wants us to seek him and the comfort of his words … May God Bless all ………………

    • Sarah

There is ONE rapture of ALL believers and it comes AFTER the Tribulation and precedes the Wrath of God
