Watch Venezuela, Because Food Shortages, Looting And Economic Collapse Are Coming To America Too

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Venezuela Economic CollapseThe full-blown economic collapse that is happening in Venezuela right now is a preview of what Americans will be experiencing in the not too distant future.  Just a few years ago, most Venezuelans could never have imagined that food shortages would become so severe that people would literally hunt dogs and cats for food.  But as you will see below, this is now taking place.  Sadly, this is what the endgame of socialism looks like.  When an all-powerful government is elevated far above all other institutions in society and radical leftists are given the keys to the kingdom, this is the result.  Food shortages, looting and rampant violent crime have all become part of daily life in Venezuela, and we all need to watch as this unfolds very carefully, because similar scenarios will soon be playing out all over the planet.

The funny thing is that Venezuela actually has more “wealth” than most countries in the world.  According to the CIA, Venezuela actually has more proven oil reserves than anyone else on the globe – including Saudi Arabia.

So how did such a wealthy nation find itself plunged into full-blown economic collapse so rapidly, and could a similar thing happen to us?

The president of Venezuela has declared a 60 day state of emergency in a desperate attempt to restore order, but most people don’t anticipate that it will do much good.  Social order continues to unravel as the economy systematically implodes.  The Venezuelan economy shrunk by 5.7 percent last year, and it is being projected that it will contract by another 8 percent in 2016.  Meanwhile, inflation is raging wildly out of control.  According to the IMF, the official inflation rate in Venezuela will be somewhere around 720 percent this year and 2,200 percent next year.

If people are able to get their hands on some money, they immediately rush out to the stores to use it before the prices go up again.  This has created devastating shortages of food, basic supplies and medicine.

Electricity is also in short supply, and a two day workweek has been imposed on many government employees in a desperate attempt to save power.  Violent crime is seemingly everywhere, and most law-abiding Venezuelans lock themselves in their homes at night as a result.

Much of the crime is being perpetrated by the mafia and the gangs, but sometimes it is just normal people looking for food.  Desperate people do desperate things, and according to the Guardian there have been “107 episodes of looting or attempted looting in the first quarter of 2016″…

Crowds of people in Venezuela have stolen flour, chicken and even underwear this week as looting increases across the country in the wake of shortages of many basic products. Many people have adopted the habit of getting up in the dead of night to spend hours in long lines in front of supermarkets. But as more end up empty-handed and black market prices soar, plundering is rising in Venezuela, an Opec nation that was already one of the world’s most violent countries.

There is no official data, but the Venezuelan Observatory for Social Conflict, a rights group, have reported 107 episodes of looting or attempted looting in the first quarter of 2016. Videos of crowds breaking into shops, swarming on to trucks or fighting over products frequently make the rounds on social media, though footage is often hard to confirm.

One example of this looting took place on May 11th.  Thousands of hungry people stormed Maracay Wholesale Market in central Venezuela, and the police seemed powerless to stop them

“They took milk, pasta, flour, oil, and milk powder. There were 5,000 people,”one witness told Venezuela outlet El Estímulo.

People from across the entire state came to the supermarket because there were rumors that some products not found anywhere else would be sold there.

“There were 250 people for each National Guard officer… lots of people and few soldiers. At least one officer was beat up because he tried to stop the crowd,” another source told El Estímulo.

You can see some rough footage of this incident right here

It is important to remember that this was not an isolated incident.  As people have become hungrier and hungrier, there have been reports of looting at “pharmacies, shopping malls, supermarkets, and food delivery trucks“.  During some of these episodes there have actually been people chanting “we are hungry”.

Other Venezuelans have resorted to digging in dumpsters and trash cans for food.  This many seem detestable to many Americans, but when you are desperately hungry you may be surprised at what you are willing to do.

And as I mentioned above, some Venezuelans and now actually hunting dogs and cats for food

Ramón Muchacho, Mayor of Chacao in Caracas, said the streets of the capital of Venezuela are filled with people killing animals for food.

Through Twitter, Muchacho reported that in Venezuela, it is a “painful reality” that people “hunt cats, dogs and pigeons” to ease their hunger.

You may be tempted to dismiss these people as “barbarians”, but someday Americans will be doing the exact same thing.

There has been a breakdown of basic social services in Venezuela as well.  Acute shortages of drugs and medical supplies are having absolutely tragic results.  When I read the following from the New York Times, this crisis in Venezuela become much more real to me…

By morning, three newborns were already dead.

The day had begun with the usual hazards: chronic shortages of antibiotics, intravenous solutions, even food. Then a blackout swept over the city, shutting down the respirators in the maternity ward.

Doctors kept ailing infants alive by pumping air into their lungs by hand for hours. By nightfall, four more newborns had died.

So once again I ask – how did such a thing happen to such a wealthy nation?

Here is Business Insider’s explanation…

The real culprit is chavismo, the ruling philosophy named for Chavez and carried forward by Maduro, and its truly breathtaking propensity for mismanagement (the government plowed state money arbitrarily into foolish investments); institutional destruction (as Chavez and then Maduro became more authoritarian and crippled the country’s democratic institutions); nonsense policy-making (like price and currency controls); and plain thievery (as corruption has proliferated among unaccountable officials and their friends and families).

Are not the same things happening here?

The U.S. government is mismanaging our money too.  During Barack Obama’s eight years in the White House, the U.S. national debt has risen by more than eight trillion dollars.  We waste money in some of the most bizarre ways imaginable, and at this point our national debt is nearly the double the size it was just prior to the last major financial crisis.

Institutional destruction is also a legacy of the Obama regime.  With each passing day, our society resembles the Republic that our founders originally intended less and less, and it resembles socialist dictatorships more and more.  We may as well not even have a Constitution anymore, because at this point nobody really follows it.

The third thing that Business Insider mentioned, “nonsense policy-making”, is a perfect description of what has been going on in Washington D.C. these days.  Perhaps that is why Congress only has a 12.8 percent approval rating right now.

Lastly, thievery and corruption are also out of control in our nation too.  The elite and special interest groups spend massive amounts of money to get their favorites into office, and in turn those politicians shower their good friends with money and favors.  It is a very sick relationship, but that is how our system now works.

We are sitting on the largest mountain of debt in the history of the planet, and our debt-fueled prosperity is completely dependent on the rest of the world lending us gigantic amounts of money at ridiculously low interest rates and continuing to use our increasingly shaky currency which we are debasing at a staggering pace.

We consume far more than we produce, and unlike Venezuela we aren’t sitting on hundreds of billions of barrels of oil.  The amount of “real wealth” that we actually have does not justify our current standard of living.  The only way that we are able to live the way that we do is by stealing consumption from the future.  One study has found that our debt level is the highest that it has been since the Great Depression of the 1930s, and yet we continue to race down this road to economic oblivion without even thinking twice about it.

What you sow is what you will reap.

And just like Venezuela, America will ultimately reap a very bitter harvest.

As many now say, it isn’t if, it’s when, and when is getting very close.

  • Jomine Jose

Unlike Venezuela, US is an imperial nation, hence do not have to worry. Debt is not at all a problem for US and the “socialism” is far less than it should be.

        • Steeve Girard

Excuse me, but in physics you have Brian Greene, Ed Witten, Leonard Susskind….you just do not know.

          • Jomine Jose

I said ‘there are no “intelligent” people’ NOT ‘there is no one’.

    • ISA41:10

It is not MY job or anyone else’s job to take care of lazy people. You can freely choose to better yourself, you can freely choose to find a better job, you can freely choose to move to any locale as long as YOU can afford it.

It is called personal responsibility and you just proved to me beyond doubt you are devoid of it.

      • Jomine Jose

Who else can be so accurate about YOU but YOU?

  • Mad Monkey

In the US things will go downhill a lot faster as US purchasing power and access to credit is better. If one looks at the ‘Black Friday’ sales and what happened in Walmart when the food stamp system malfunctions. US citizens are more greedy and feel more entitled – so it can only explode more violently. – See Example Below.

Take for example the bullet shortage esp. in 22LR , a rumor spreads there is going to be a shortage then consumers start stockpiling and the gouges then buy every thing up to sell for higher prices on the back market. It has taken years in the US to now almost stabilize the supply and price of 22LR.
I purchase US made 22LR ammunition in Australia cheaper than it sells in the US and there is no shortage.

    • Orac4Prez

Hey, come on.. What do you need the ammo for? Our Aussie polly’s are that bad – We’ve got Turnbull and Shorten, while the US has Hillary and Trump. (I know its a pretty sad comparison)

      • Mad Monkey

It is an example 22LR is considered the number 1 prepper caliber and it is for hunting and putting food on the table not self defense or offence.

        • kfilly

A Ruger 10/22 is my zombie rifle. I can carry lots of ammo, it can put a lethal hole in someone from 400 yards (Difficult to do, but can be done). Is it the greatest choice of defensive calibers? No, it is not, but is pretty good for an offensive one (suppressed rounds for sniping). If I am not resupplied like a military grunt, I want to be able to carry as much as I can practically carry. I could take another weapon, but there is no way I could carry 1000 plus rounds for another one of my weapons. Perhaps, that has something with .22lr being hard to find.

“What you sow is what you reap…” America’s religious leaders have been telling the people who come into their church pews for the last 50 years, and especially the last 30 years, we do not have to obey God’s Law, Jesus did away with it. Look at the recent disgusting legal precedents being forced on the people of the nation. Constitutional law is being done away with by those sworn to uphold it! Sort of a mirror image of the “Church”, yes?

Guess what? We reap what the religious leaders have sown.

God’s people will not keep God’s Law; ergo, our govenment leaders have decided they do not have to keep the laws of the nation. Call it poetic justice or call it the response God said He’d make: Measure for measure. “I will do unto your law what you have done unto Mine! If you want to live without Law, you can!”

Yes, this is coming to the US. The divisions within the nation are manifest for all to see and heed. A house divided against itself will not stand. Not if, just a question of when.

    • Preacher62

Judgment begins at the house of God for sure.

      • ISA41:10

That’s because of “the love of money”. Most pastors (yes most) are more concerned about maintaining or building “their” kingdom instead of Gods.

We in the Western world have been doing church wrong for centuries and it now shows!

        • Preacher62

American Christianity is far from the truth for sure. When the Gospel comes attached to a salary, it is most likely flawed.

          • Richard O. Mann

I’m guessing you have been drinking the Arab and anti Israel cool aid which can be found all over the net, and main line media today. The Jews that are coming back to Israel, and all those who never left, are from the line of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, aka, Israel. But, there are many who will not believe that God, Jehovah, has kept His word, and brought the Jewish people back to Israel. Guess you will just have to wait it out, like so many others.

Michael did say that it is coming here. The unanswered question I answered is, “Why, is it coming here?” If our nation was living according to the Standards/Principles it was founded upon, we wouldn’t think of asking such a question.

        George Washington, Thomas Jefferson
Samuel Adams, First Chief Justice John Jay
Names synonymous with the spirit of our country
        Founding fathers of the U.S.A.

Over 200 years ago they shook off the chains of tyranny from Great Britain
        By divine call
Citing 27 biblical violations they wrote the Declaration of Independence
With liberty and justice for all

But something happened since Jefferson called the Bible the cornerstone
For American liberty, then put it in our schools as a light
Or since “Give me liberty, or give me death,” Patrick Henry said
Our country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ

We eliminated God from the equation of American life
Thus eliminating the reason this nation first began
From beyond the grave I hear the voices of our founding fathers plead
You need God in America again

Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution
Fifty-two were active members of their church
Founding fathers like Noah Webster who wrote the first dictionary
Could literally quote the Bible chapter and verse

James Madison said, “We’ve staked our future on our ability to follow
The Ten Commandments with all our heart”
These men believed you couldn’t even call yourself an American
If you subvert the Word of God

In his farewell address, Washington said, “You can’t have national morality apart from religious principle,” and it’s true
‘Cause right now we have nearly 150,000 kids carrying guns
To these war zones we call public schools.

        From Carmen’s “God in America”.
We’ve come a long way, baby! And it ain’t good!
I’ve done a bit of research on many of those mentioned here and been to many of the historical sites where they are memorialized. They weren’t perfect but they did attempt to follow the Word, according to their understanding, and leave an enduring legacy for us. Our leaders of the past 50-70 years, AT LEAST, have disrespected their values and spit on the sacrifices they made to give us what we’ve enjoyed for so long.
        So sad!!

        • aldownunder

          Well put,
I was more implying the replies that would come after your post, than your post itself
some people don’t need much encouragement to get off topic
          Excellent reply bravo

          • watchmannonthewall

Thank you, wasn’t sure since there have been a few dissenters of late. I did think your comment was sort of tongue in cheek!

        • Steeve Girard

America was founded by people who never truly believed in “God” in the first place… they were Masons.

          • watchmannonthewall

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t there about 33 levels of Masons? Hundreds of years ago did the ones at the bottom have all the knowledge of the rites and mysteries the ones at the top had? Do they today?

Were all of the founders of this nation participants in the top level or is it possible, even probably, that many of them, IF ALL of them were actually masons, actually did worship the God of scripture but were not fully initiated in the satanic rites of the beliefs held by those at the highest levels?

          • The Penitent Man

Some were totally aware while others believed they were taking part in a society that furthered one’s business and social standing. According to Albert Pike, only those who reach the 30th level are told who the “Grand Architect” truly is (Lucifer, the fallen angel). I suspect they only told those who they knew would play the game, i.e., there4 were many Masons who reached the highest degrees but were never brought into the inner circle.

            Plausible deniability.

I don’t really care for the term “The Illuminati” but they existed, and still exist. George Washington admitted that they had already infiltrated America after they were supposedly destroyed.

Unfortunately the term has been destroyed and ridiculed through pop culture, specifically the music industry and cartoon shows for children. You would be shocked at what they are putting into children’s cartoons nowadays. It’s all about Satan worship and perverse activities.

          • The Penitent Man

You’re only partially correct. I would agree that the most powerful of our so-called “forefathers” were Masons and definitely fooled the people into accepting a Luciferian Washington D.C., but the others were definitely Christian, and the people were overwhelmingly Christian and that is what made our nation great at one time, not the meddling of a handful of Luciferians like Franklin and Jefferson.

Read what Cornwallis said after the Revolutionary war was at an end:

“A holy war will now begin on America, and when it is ended America will be supposedly the citadel of freedom, but her millions will unknowingly be loyal subjects to the Crown [. . .] in less than two hundred years the whole nation will be working for divine world government. That government that they believe to be divine will be the British Empire. All religions will be permeated with Judaism without even being noticed by the masses, and they will all be under the invisible all-seeing eye of the Grand Architect of Freemasonry.” – Charles Cornwallis.

Pretty damn accurate statement for being well over 200 years old. Here we are, being used as the engine to force a world government (a new world order) just as Cornwallis stated. The Pentagon is the military arm of the NWO. The City of London is the financial arm and the Vatican is the Religious or spiritual arm of this Luciferian conspiracy.

        • billtheguy

You are correct. The Bible was; or really needs to be the cornerstone of America. The past 15-18 white house idiots gave in to the lobbyists (ACLU?) for their “feelings” that you should not push this in the classrooms or the children. We should have been pushing this all along. I remember saying the Lord’s Prayer and the pledge of allegiance all through school every morning.

          • watchmannonthewall

I remember saying the pledge of allegiance but not the Lord’s Prayer. My mother also tells me that during her middle school generation the Bible was the main textbook in the classroom (1940’s) of her small town. The members of the nation had a better sense of right and wrong, for sure!

          • The Penitent Man

The Pledge of Allegiance was created by a Socialist name Francis Bellamy. We used to pledge with our right hand thrust forward like the National Socialist salute that Germany used in the 1930’s, but we changed it to the hand over our heart in the late 30’s when Americans were turned away from supporting Germany.

Why would anyone, especially those who follow Jesus Christ, would want to pledge allegiance to anything other then their Creator? The Pledge s a clever little piece of socialist propaganda used to bend the minds of Americans towards blind patriotism, something that has gotten a lot of Americans killed over the years.

          • watchmannonthewall

I agree. Thought about that as I was posting the response: We are not to pledge ourselves to anything but the Creator and His Son. Anuything else will be twisted by the Adversary until it comes back to pledging ourselves to his designs/desires.

          • The Penitent Man

We’re not supposed to do a lot of thing my friend, but we do them, none the less. That’s the weakness of our flesh and our ego. We’re living in the end times, in the last few minutes of the last hour of the last day. Satan seems to be everywhere in mainstream society.

The arch of Baal was erected in London on April 19th, to start the 13 days of blood and sacrifice, ending on Beltane, which is May 1st (May day and the communist holiday). The arch of Baal will be erected in Times Square in either June or July, I believe? After that they will go up all over the world.

            Strange days are ahead.

          • watchmannonthewall

So you are saying that they just postponed the arches, not actually cancelled them? I didn’t know that but surely am not surprised. I have been talking to my family about “incrementalism” for a very long time. One step towards their world at a time and sometimes you take a brief timeout until you can get/make an adequate diversion or get the right court case in a favorable court.

          • The Penitent Man

They didn’t even postpone them, they just called them by another name “Arch of Triumph of Bel” and “Bel” is “Ba’al”.

Things are speeding up. We’re past the Fabian Socialism (incrementalism), now things are moving at a rapid pace. Just look at how fast Obama is changing America. In less then a year we have Gay “marriage” and a transgender bathroom push, besides many other horrible things are happening.

          • watchmannonthewall

Yes, things have sped up! I have a lot of speculations on the goings on. It seems the Olympics in Britain in fall 2012 were a sort of shift in setting up the NWO. Was this the rider on the white horse? There could be more than one as prophesy is often double ot triple fulfilled, though there is only one complete fulfillment.

The pres visited the holy city in March 2013. This fall it will have been 3.5 years since he went there. Will anything come of it? I don’t know but I am paying attention.

I do know that, for those who are paying attention, God will leave handfuls on purpose that will help us see and understand a bit of what is occurring, especially the timing.
Those who merrily go through life in this day will miss out on the big, but subtle, moves of God. They may see, but won’t understand, or be convinced. He is coming to those who are already looking for Him.

Those who think He will announce Himself before the second coming so they can prepare have inflated opinions of themselves and their importance to God, but those paying attention will see the little things and have understanding as to what is occurring. We want to be in this group of believers who are always preparing ourselves!

          • The Penitent Man

Yeah brother, I really agree with what you said here:

“He is coming to those who are already looking for Him.Those who think He will announce Himself before the second coming so they can prepare have inflated opinions of themselves…”

I keep going over something Jesus said, you know “I’ll come like a thief in the night”. Every time I think about that verse I say to myself, “But we who believe and follow the scriptures know He is returning and will know almost exactly when His return is (due to prophesies like Daniel’s 1,335 days, etc.”

So for those who do not believe, it will be shocking to their core, I can imagine their despair and I am a believer and follower. Anyone who is not in Messiah at the time, it will be like a thief in the night for them.

I pray that His grace and love is sufficient because I feel like I’m a failure. I cannot do anything worthy, apart from His love.

            Peace in Yahushua Messiah.

          • The Penitent Man

I disagree. I do not want to live under a human theocracy. Remember what happened in Europe? A nation with Christian principles, yes. A nation ruled with religion forced on people, no way.

Here’s something you won’t hear every day; Freedom of religion doesn’t mean freedom to practice Satanism. Freedom of religion was about worshiping the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, with freedom to one’s conscious. Our “Freedom of Religion” in the constitution was about Christianity and not false religious systems like Islam or whatever else is out there.

          • Gay Veteran

“…Our “Freedom of Religion” in the constitution was about Christianity and not false religious systems like Islam or whatever else is out there.”

            got any PROOF of that?

          • The Penitent Man

Sure, one thousand, two hundred, sixty years of religious persecution in Europe, Asia minor, and other parts of Christendom. Read your history, Christians were being persecuted by both the Catholic and the Protestant Churches, hence the reason they flocked to America, so they could worship the Father and Son according to their conscious and not according to the doctrine of some pope or king.

Read the writings of the founders of America. Our nation was built upon biblical principles, not Islamic or Jewish or any other religious faith. Since then, as most things do, it has morphed into something it was never meant to protect, i.e., Satanism and other false religions.

Don’t misunderstand me, I don’t believe people of different faiths should be persecuted but I do believe that the foundation should be preserved. There’s a reason we find the Ten Commandments in Government buildings and have always honored God in tangible ways. Or at least that’s how it used to be.

Now we’re a nation split in half, perverted and deceitful. It won’t be long until they pass a law allowing men and women to marry animals, mark my words. We’ve already got people living as dogs and other animals, and many other perverse and demonically inspired acts. But I digress.

          • watchmannonthewall

It seems that God has given many of the creatures of His creation the ability to choose. We are free to choose as were the angels who decided to throw in their lot with the adversary.
Scripture says that when Messiah comes back He will teach Torah to the nations at Jerusalem. The proper application of Torah is far beyond what we normally think of, as learning to properly live it out without breaking it, such as when faced with a choice to do a commandment or extend mercy for the right reason, could take an entire lifetime even with good instruction.
Nonetheless, it seems the way the children of Israel were organized will still be the way the nation is organized in the Milllennium. It appears we will live under a theocracy, but its head will actually be God and people will understand doing things the way He said is absolutely the best way! We are living the the current result already of doing things our way.
BTW- thank you for the earlier information on the masons among our founding fathers. I am not well versed on that subject and appreciated your input.

and yet the Constitution does not mention “god”, neither does the Declaration of Independence

          • watchmannonthewall

Isn’t the term “endowed by their Creator…” used? The Greek/Roman mindset says terms must be exact, which is why the US has about 80% of all lawyers in the world. But most other nations are not Greek or Roman.
Concepts are very important in our understanding of history. Look for concepts and equivalent expressions. Other cultures will not necessarily adhere to the US way of looking at life.

          • Gay Veteran

“…If you read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Torah, the 5 books of Moses, you will notice that the concepts spoken of in Moses are all thoroughout the Bill of Rights and the Constitution….”

            got any PROOF?

like for each of the Bill of Rights?

            how about the Seventh Amendment:

In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

          • watchmannonthewall

First, just to clarify: There are many people who are ignorant, in the classical sense, meaning they either don”t know anything about the subject being spoken of or very little, not that they are “stupid”, of the application of the forementioned documents to Scripture. If you took me to be saying the second, I wasn’t as I know you are very well informed, thoughtful and thought-provoking.
As to the Constitution: Where do you think these men got he ideas that are embodied in the Constitution? What other nation at that time had anything similar to this? England had moved some distance towards it but was still a long wayt away and the Magna Carta wasn’t even close.
Moses wrote that the people were to chose out men from among themselves to oversee each of the tribes. These men would also come together to care for the business of the entire nation. A census was part of the Torah as is the one we have every 10 years per the Constitution. Moses also wrote that no person who was not a memeber of the nation was allowed to be in a position of leadership within the nation as is also embodied in the Constitution. Paul said accusations against elders, rulers, were to be judged by other elders, hence our rules for impeachment. I could go on but you can study the Torah for yourself and see that many of the principles contained in our founding documents were already well known and historically practiced at the time of Messiah among the Jews, and have as their authoritative source the Law of Moses from 3500 years ago. These are far more equitable than those of Hammurabi, whom many like to claim Moses stole the Torah from.
Regarding Article 7: What is the issue? It is whether a trial by jury is to be preserved if a case involves a sum of more than $20.

          • Gay Veteran

you know who else had a census?
            ROME
and our system of government and laws has more to do with Rome than the Bible!
and as for the Seventh Amendment, the point was “trial by jury”, not by judges

          • watchmannonthewall

So you admit that he Romans stole the idea from the Israelites?

          • Gay Veteran

“So you admit that he Romans stole the idea from the Israelites?….”

            ROFLOL, riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

or was it the Israelis who stole it from ancient Egypt?

“…having one person judge is fine….”

but from the Bill of Rights we have juries. what’s wrong, can’t find them in the bible?

          • Gay Veteran

“…In declaring independence from England, the colonists listed about 2 dozen violations of scripture as evidence for why they didn’t have to submit to the King….”

            got any PROOF of that?

          • watchmannonthewall

If you read the Declaration of Independence, you will notice 26 charges leveled against the King. After listing each one, Thomas Jefferson states, “In every stage of the oppressions, we have petitioned for redress, in the most humble terms; our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people…” It is interesting that the Biblical character Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, acted in much the same manner over taxes, as the King did, and also refused to grant redress to the northern 10 tribes when they asked, again, as did the King.

Deut 16:20, “Justice, justice only you shall pursue…” Apparently the colonists didn’t think the King had any intention of being “just”.

“We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in general Congress assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states…

“And, for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our honor.”

            From Webster’s 1828 Dictionary:
REC’TITUDE, noun [Latin rectus, right, straight.]

“In morality, rightness of principle or practice; uprightness of mind; exact conformity to truth, or to the rules prescribed for moral conduct, either by divine or human laws. Rectitude of mind is the disposition to act in conformity to any known standard of right, truth or justice; rectitude of conduct is the actual conformity to such standard. Perfect rectitude belongs only to the Supreme Being. The more nearly the rectitude of men approaches to the standard of the divine law, the more exalted and dignified is their character. Want of rectitude is not only sinful, but debasing.”
First, they listed all the actions of the King that they said indicated he was a tyrant, as well as the actions they took to remain in unity; then they appealed to the Supreme Judge of the world to judge the “rightness” of their conduct, and finally, they submitted themselves to His will as to whether He would protect them or not in their course of action.
The Declaration of Independence is a court document of the charges against the King by the colonists, along with a testimony that the prosecutors have attempted to work with the defendent but have gotten nowhere. Now they are making an appeal to the highest authority based on His own Law, since the only Law He judges by is His own, as support for their actions. They are submitting to His decision in the outcome.
I believe all 54 men signed the document attesting to the facts, yes?

          • Gay Veteran

“…Deut 16:20, “Justice, justice only you shall pursue…” Apparently the colonists didn’t think the King had any intention of being “just”….”

no, the colonists didn’t think the King had any intention of being just, and they didn’t need to rely on the Bible to reach that conclusion because it was SELF EVIDENT!

and odd, NO mention of any Bible verses in the Declaration of Independence. NONE!

can you provide any PROOF from the 1776 writings of the Founding Fathers that the Declaration of Independence was based only on the Bible?

          • watchmannonthewall

So where did they get their accepted standard of “justice” from? You can’t get 10 people out of a hundred to agree on anything today without carving out all kinds of exceptions. Got another document that lays all that out for us to review?

          • Gay Veteran

got it from religion, ancient Rome, natural law, the Enlightenment, etc.
you seem to think it is 100% the Bible.
however, I do NOT think it is 0% the Bible.

          • watchmannonthewall

You might want to watch Michael Snyder’s presentation at The Prophesy Club last year. He presented research material there that appears to support the idea that the founding of many European nations have Israelite ties, and this would include Rome and Greece. Others have done far more research going back through old history texts, encyclopedias and such and believe there is adequate support to draw the conculsion that Rome and Greece were likely founded by the scattered 10 tribes, as well as Carthage.

Western society may be just one big family feud!

You can start wwith Steven Collins and also Joe Dumond. Both have done a lot of work tracing through the old PH’d’ers writings, including their footnotes, in support of their findings.

          • Gay Veteran

oh my, did the founding of India and China also have Israelite ties.
and if there were ties in Europe, how come they were pagan countries?

          • watchmannonthewall

No, the founders of China and India were descendants from the 3rd son of Noah. Thomas, the disciple of Jesus, is believed to have been martyred in India though so there should be Christian ties into India. In fact our congregation is in touch with some of them.
Would the answer to your question be in any way related to the fact the northern 10 tribes were cast out of the Land of Israel by God becasue they PRACTICED paganism for over 200 years and refused His correction? Is it beyond reason, for those who have been Enlightened, that pagan people would found pagen nations?

          • Gay Veteran

“No, the founders of China and India were descendants from the 3rd son of Noah….”

“…Would the answer to your question be in any way related to the fact the northern 10 tribes were cast out of the Land of Israel by God….”

            and they founded European nations?!?!?!?
once again, got any PROOF whatsoever for that?

          • watchmannonthewall

LIke I said, you are free to do your own research. You can start with Michael’s research and then follow up with Joe Dumond’s and Steven Collins. They have lots of footnotes you can go through to determine if the sources are valid or not. Do your own due dilligence.

“Isn’t the term “endowed by their Creator…” used?….”

the term “Creator” was commonly used by the deists of that time.

deist use Creator = NON-interventionist god

          • watchmannonthewall

Just because Thomas Jefferson wrote The Declaration of Independence does not mean the other 53 men who signed their names to the document did not have any input into the terms used or fully accepted his possible individual definition of “Creator”.

So what do the terms Supreme Judge and Divine Providence mean to the deists? These terms are used in the document also. Or the phrase,”the seperate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature’s GOD entitle them”? Who or what is “nature’s God” to a deist, or was Jefferson writing about the same God many Christians refer to?

Both the Apostles Peter and Paul used the term “Creator” in their epistles and so the fact the term is used in The Declaration is not any sort of “proof” all members had the same understanding Thomas Jefferson MAY have had.

I have not read up on him to have a solid opinion whether modernists are grasping at straws to make the claims about him they do, or whether there is substantive fact to support their claims.

          • Gay Veteran

guess you never heard of the Age of Reason and the Enlightenment. oh, I forgot, only the Bible was used when drafting the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
and speaking of Jefferson, what did he think about the miracles the Bible says were done by Jesus?
            ever hear of Thomas Paine?

          • watchmannonthewall

If there wouldn’t have been a Reformation, the Catholic Church heirarchy would never have allowed an Age of Reason or Elightenment to occur. The Reformation laid the groundwork for the later events. A lot of people died so that those who came later could participate in and further those. In fact, your freedom is tied to the Reformation.

The Church was corrupted by Rome and has never looked back.

      • watchmannonthewall

You are right, but the real problem is the Protestant Church doesn’t realize it is still engaging in the corruption of Rome! My family and their (my former) pastor, who was raised Catholic, think the Baptists and evangelicals, as well as other denominations, completely left the RCC and all of its doctrine.

        • Vizar

Agreed. It was the RCC that left God centuries ago. Nobody wants to talk about it.

          • watchmannonthewall

You know? I honestly think most don’t know, I didn’t for years, and if someone does talk about it others don’t want to hear because then they have to go back and reassess all the doctrines they are following to see if they line up with scripture.

Most people hate to admit they are wong, but God’s Word says, ” The commandment is a lamp, and the Law is a light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.”

        • Richard O. Mann

Most of the Protestant churches did bring a lot of the Catholic baggage along and many have been making nice with Rome again as of late. Unfortunately, a great deal of liberal teachings have polluted the churches today. Just a sign of the times.

          • watchmannonthewall

Right! In fact it appears that next October (2017) in rememberance of Luther’s nailing of the 95 theses to the door of the Wittenberg Church, Rome is going to have a special ceremony where they re gather many of the Protestant denominations: Lutherans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, and some evenagelical denominations, “the daughters”, have already agreed to return to the “mother” church and accept the blame for the division.
Apparently there are ongoing negotiations with the Baptists and other denominations about joining the above for the 500th year anniversary of the split (the 10th Jubilee). My question is: “Could this be the covenant made with many for one week?”
These “daughters” are agreeing to come back under the authority of the RCC. Will the RCC one day expect total obedience to its papel authority as during the Dark Ages? The language of the agreement seems to promote this possibility. Much of Protestantism has blurred the lines between the two systems.

          • The Penitent Man

See, that’s another deceptive doctrine that has been pummeled into Protestants minds, that there is some mysterious seven year peace treaty. But if one understand the Scriptures properly they quickly realize that the one who makes a covenant with the many for one week is Jesus Christ (and has long since past), hence the reason the sacrifice and oblation cease, because they have no meaning or power after the atoning sacrifice of Messiah.

Expect the tribulation. Do not expect a pre-trib rapture. Do not expect it to last more then 1,335 days, as spoken of by Daniel the prophet.

          • The Penitent Man

All life is a sign of the times. The Protestant churches are the whoring daughters of Rome. All organized religion is anathema in God’s eyes. He desires mercy, not sacrifice.

Okay, now try again but this time attempt to use economic and financial angles instead of jumping into God’s bunker. We know it’s already prepped.

I’ve not studied the events in Venezuela in detail so I’ll have to defer. It’s possible that state mismanagement has caused the crisis there, just as it is possible that they are victims of economic warfare by the US and it’s allies (who has attempted coups there). Assuming it is the former, an example of the failure of socialist government doesn’t indict socialism in general (as there are many positive examples of people benefiting from socialist systems), just as the horrors of capitalism don’t demonstrate it’s universal uselessness.

Any social democrat is going to use Marxist critique to some degree, but that doesn’t mean they believe in Communism.

The “isms” were created by the powers that be (the banking cartels and the Black Nobility of Europe + The Vatican). It was capitalism from Wall Street that funded both revolutions in Russia (1905 and 1917). On top of that we haven’t practiced true capitalism in a very long time. How can you do that with a criminal central banking system strangling the western world?

The system boils down to the uber-rich and the rest of us. We either do what they want or they ravage us through war and poverty. America was their engine to run the world but now they’re jumping ship and setting up shop in another location.

There’s no good reason that these banksters make more in one hour then we do all year long, it’s disgraceful!

          • watchmannonthewall

Had a short discussion about this in our Bible study group this weekend. It appears likely that the current system is nothing more than a replica of the one that pre-existed the creation of man.

Satan was apparently the head hocho then as Scripture records the following, “By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence (wars?), and you sinned; therefore I have cast you out as profane from the mountain of God, and I have destroyed you , O covering chereb, from the midst of the stones of fire.” (Ez. 28:16)

The more things change, the more they remain the same! Satan was the original banker! Coveteousness!

          • The Penitent Man

Yeah, I’ll have to study that myself, but what use would money be in the heavenly realm? I think the scripture is talking about his inner corruption and how it intensified over time. The book of Enoch speaks of fallen angels teaching men war, and women the use of painting their faces to look more alluring, all types of other things that were not inherent to us. But again, the book of Enoch we have may not be “legit” from what I’ve read.

          • watchmannonthewall

I haven’t read it, though I have it. It comes up in some of our discussions but I’m a sceptic as to validity. Enoch sounds like it has portions of Jashur, which I have read, in it. I don’t view Jashur as “inspired” either.

I do believe God, who is very industrious, has an operating ecomony in the heavenlies, though I agree it probably wouldn’t operate on money. Not sure what the currency of heaven would be.

I don’t see Him creating all of these things and then just sitting around accepting worship of Himself all night/day long.

I especially like the story in scripture where He asks who will go and convince Ahab to go to war, where he gets killed. One angel volunteers to go and be a lying spirit in the mouth of Ahab’s prophets. God tells him to go and that he will surely succeed. The story indicates evidence of free will among the angelic beings and of their own creativity, which He appears to encourage and allow.

          • The Penitent Man

Interesting ideas. We are but a shadow of the heavenly realm, just like our Creator telling Moses to make a copy of the temple in heaven on earth, so that lends weight to what you are saying. I totally believe the messengers had free will in the heavenly realm, hence one third defecting from righteousness to follow Satan/Lucifer (some people argue that Satan and Lucifer are two separate beings but I have not studied out that matter).

        • Auldenemy

Completely agree. The now out of control Western debt machine is NOT down to one single political Party, it is far more complex than that. It was Reagan and Thatcher (both Right Wing and mega pro Capitalists), who started deregulating Western banks, allowing fractional reserve banking to grow way too big. It was Reagan who repealed the law which prohibited greedy CEOs from going buyback crazy (decimating their companies in the process). It was Clinton who got rid of Glass-Steagall, thus ushering in the age of the derivatives nightmare. So both Left and Right Wing governments in the West have endorsed the madness of growing their economies on DEBT, at the same time allowing companies to merrily out source to India and China.

        • Randy

Apparently, you do not know what capitalism really is. The banksters create fictitious bookkeeping entries out of thin air. Then they “loan” some of them out to the suckers who don’t know any better. Then the banksters charge an interest rate on those “loans” of nothing but pieces of paper. And to get the interest payments, they have to create even MORE loans and create even more fictitious bookkeeping entries and fiat paper currency!! So it’s a continuing cycle until it gets so far out of hand it all falls apart one day.
This was done in England when the Bank of England “loaned” the King a bunch of money to run a war. The BoE demanded that in exchange for the courtesy of making the “loan”, it would be able to create on its books an amount equal to the loan! That of course immediately cut the perceived purchasing power of the paper currency in HALF!
In 1964, silver was one dollar per ounce. Now, it takes about 17-18 dollars to buy an ounce of silver. So the PPP of the dollar is now only about one 17th of what it was back in 1964!! Get it yet??

          • The Penitent Man

That isn’t capitalism, that’s Jewish usury and fractional reserve banking. I don’t need to “get it yet” as I’ve known about the true nature of our current system for quite some time.

          • Randy

No, you obviously do not understand what FRB means. It means that the banks have only a fraction ( and a VERY small one at that!) of the deposits made at the bank available for withdrawal at any one time. The banksters take in 100 units and then loan out MORE than that. You need to look at some videos on how the FRB system works!
If you really knew even half as much as you like to think you know about modern money mechanics, you would be able to talk about it intelligently, instead of just hyperventilating over the falsehoods which you think to be true!
If you think that I am wrong, then how do you explain away the increasing cost of PM in terms of fiat paper and electronic bookkeeping entries that were created out of thin air? Are you going to ignore that question again now?

          • The Penitent Man

Umm, yes, I know exactly what fractional reserve banking is and I’ve known about it for a very long time. I watched three hour version of Money Masters over a decade ago, read books on the subject, etc. What “falsehoods” have I written? It looks like you’re just spouting nonsense towards me right now, writing things down about me does not make them true.

            Now please, go away.

          • Randy

Now you’re being just plain stupid. I never said that you have written any falsehoods! Where did I do that? I said that you’re hyperventilating over falsehoods which you think to be true. It’s clear to me that you cannot duplicate in your mind what you read or hear, and that is why you cannot follow simple directions. The evidence for that is the fact that just like so many others before you, you cannot tell me why more and more of a fiat paper currency is needed to trade for an ounce of precious metals. In 1964, an ounce of pure silver could be bought for a one dollar bill, but today, it takes about 17 of them! What is your explanation for that, if it’s not that the USD has lost so much of its perceived purchasing power since 1964, that it takes 17 times more of it to buy the same amount of silver? Again, I’m sure that your severely limited amount of intelligence will not allow you to answer my questions.
If you really knew what FRB is, then you wouldn’t have given me a bogus answer.
Your words expose you, I do not have to make anything up!

          • The Penitent Man

Yeah, you’re being a very insulting person. It seems you like to call people names and act as if you’re the only one who understands what is happening in this world. I totally understand purchasing power, inflation, fiat currency ,etc.

Now instead of being combative with you, and instead of us fighting, maybe we can bury the hatchet?

Do you recall colonial script in the days of Jefferson and Franklin? It was fiat currency yet it worked. Why is that? I believe it worked because we had honest government at the time.

Maybe, eventually, it would have failed but who knows? The problem I see right now concerning gold (maybe silver is the better option?) is that there doesn’t seem to be very much of it, not mention we use it in a lot technological applications also.

How can such a finite supply of gold be used to back paper currency at this point in time? I imagine the price per ounce would have to be raised substantially. As it stands now, the current price for gold does not represent the real value of the metal.

If that’s the case and if we switched back to a gold-backed currency, what do you think the price of an ounce of gold would be?

          • Randy

What names did I call you? All that I am doing is exposing the FACT that you cannot think logically! I said that you were being stupid because you cannot tell me anything that explains the phenomena of what we call inflation. You just keep going off on these weird tangents, never staying on topic. Is that what smart people do? I don’t think so!
Colonial scrip was NOT fiat paper currency, because you could EXCHANGE a one ounce silver coin back then for a piece of paper that was denominated as a one dollar bill! The same was true in 1964, but in 1965, they began to dilute the silver coins with copper more and more. And they had gold coins back in Colonial times that were directly exchangeable at the face value of the paper bills. The paper was FULLY backed up by gold coins. No one ever said that it wasn’t, back then. But the banksters began to bribe the politicians more and more, and debased the monetary system more and more with counterfeit bills printed up in England! Are you getting any of this yet? From where did you get that crazy idea that the original Colonial scrip was a fiat paper currency??
Honest government at the time? Oh please now, don’t make me laugh! It was because the Founding Fathers KNEW that they lived with easily corrupted men, that they decided to not rely upon the good nature of men alone, and to bind the government down with the chains of the Constitution instead! You need to read some more history, Dude.
You just don’t get it do you? You have no clue at all about how financial systems actually work, and yet you try to make it sound like you do. You keep on thinking that fiat paper currency and electronic bookkeeping entries actually have some kind of a value to them!! Oh man! If we were to try to suddenly switch back over to a 100% precious metal backed monetary system, it would be impossible, because there probably isn’t enough gold and silver in our entire solar system to be able to keep up with how many totally fictitious bookkeeping entries have been created out of thin air! Do you get even that small fact, that these numbers are just created out of nothing at all, only by some computer programs that run 24/7/365 doing nothing but that?? Have you ever gone to the National Debt Clock and watched those numbers whirl by? Where do you think they come from?? To have enough ounces of silver for a one to one relationship (ratio), you’d need a small moon made of the stuff! And with an historic ratio of 16 to 1 for silver to gold, you’d need a goodly sized chunk of that too!

Here’s the thing that sums up how ignorant you really are. “What do you think the price of an ounce of gold would be?” In terms of WHAT as the price of gold? Cows, chickens, hours of work, WHAT?!?! You cannot have a valid exchange rate between two things if one of them is a FRAUD!! THAT is why we have a continual decrease in the perceived purchasing power of fiat paper currencies! Fiat paper currency is a FRAUD!!! THAT is what we call inflation! That is why we HAVE inflation!
And BTW, you’ve still not answered my question of why today it takes 17+ FRN to buy an ounce of silver! Let me know when you can figure that one out.

          • The Penitent Man

Yeah, I’m done with you and your clumsy attacks towards me. The ad hominem is always used by inferior minds.

Inflation, by the way. The dollar has lost 96% of its purchasing power.

          • Randy

Yeah, well you don’t seem very penitent to me! Do you even know what that word means?
As for further PROOF of what I said about your lack of ability to understand even the simplest of ideas, just look at the last two sentences you wrote. “Inflation, by the way”. Well by the way WHAT? Did you lose your train of thought again there? “The dollar has lost 96% of its purchasing power.” Oh, yeah, a really brilliant and original thought there for sure! What does that mean to you? Can you use it for anything, other than taking up space on the page?

        • RalphEllison

“The system boils down to the uber-rich and the rest of us.” And thus it’s ever been.

And it’s tiring to constantly see right leaning websites demeaning left wing policies when here in America it has always been greedy rightwingers who bring economic calamity.

          • The Penitent Man

Well, I believe the people who truly rule over us have no party loyalties. It’s a left-right false paradigm. Ever heard of Bill Clinton’s mentor, Carroll Quigley? He wrote a book called “Tragedy & Hope”. In the book he explains that the two party system is in place for one reason, to give the people the illusion of “democracy” and of having a say in how their government functions.

He was a Professor at Georgetown University. Quigley said that these “new world order” types allowed him free reign to study their inner workings, minutes of their meetings, papers, ideas ,etc. and his only objection was that he believed they shouldn’t keep their plans secret from the public. You should look up some of the more definitive quotes from the book to get a better idea of what I am saying.

I see both the right and the left working together, pushing us towards a unified world financial and political system, a system that will eventually, strip us of all of our liberties. The real shame is that people who strongly identify with either party cannot stand back and see what is really going on.

Ask yourself if their policies have made us and the world stronger or weaker? Did NAFTA help the American people or did it harm them? Is the TPP good for Americans? What about TTIP? If you’re being honest with yourself I believe your answer would be a resounding no.

Look at how both democrats and republicans come together when legislation is created to further integrate us into this global system. Anything that strengthens the idea of world government , you’ll find both parties heartily agreeing.

And this political and financial integration has made the entire world more dependent on outside forces. There was a time when nations weren’t interdependent, when America could manufacture just about everything it needed. Think of the amazing speed at which we mobilized during WWII, that would never happen in today’s America because we’ve gutted ourselves and have become overly dependent on foreign goods, technology, etc.

I think that we could easily demean both parties and be totally correct, yet at the same time you have to admit the left wields more overall power then the right at this point. Our culture has changed drastically, it has embraced the policies and ideologies of the left, more so then of the right. Traditional values are heavily scorned, the family has been eroded, our collective morals are at an all time low.

The America of even 30 years ago wouldn’t recognize itself today. We are a totally different country at this point in time. We are more divided then we’ve ever been and that will do us no good at all.

We either come together peacefully and willingly or we will destroy ourselves from within. I’ve never seen such anger and hatred (coming from both sides) in my entire life.

      • Matt M

The Great Depression, seriously? The Great Depression happened after the biggest economic boon in world history. Fifty years before The Great Depression, the entire world used ox and cattle to farm and rode behind animals to get them from one place to the other.
Within a few short decades after the Depression, we were planning trips to the moon and communicating quickly around the world.
All of this happened within a Capitalist framework. So, in your mind, when this is all over, Venezuela and other Socialist countries are going to steam into the future? Sorry…. they never have and never will.
Capitalism punishes “malinvestment” and poor economic decisions fiercely, Socialism ignores them promotes them and is in a constant state of maintenance and trying to prevent collapse.
I agree with you that people are to blame too however, but the fact that it is not obvious to you that Capitalism has outperformed Socialism on average in the past century by a factor of about 100:1 is probably a result of your education. That is either over-education by unqualified state institutions or simply under education.
It’s sad that most people probably agree with you.

        • CASTIEL

Yes…… seriously!!!!!! The Russians also planned trips to the moon all in in a comunist framework…..i didnt say that Venezuela and other socialists countries are going to steam in the future..are you idiot???????..if you were intellegent enough you would see that i dont defend neither capitalism or socialism….its sad that a lot of people are blind like you….

          • jack nichols

The word neither should be replaced with either and the “I” should be capitalized. Proper delivery would certainly enhance your creditability as an intelligent commentor

          • CASTIEL

My mother tongue is not english……the message is more important…..and its not a question of intelligence….i just see the facts..

          • jack nichols

The mother tongue here in America is English. If you have difficulity commenting in English go back yo your mother fu**ing homeland and comment intelligently there

          • CASTIEL

the pc warrior….i would love that a little chicken like you said that to my face….i would break your legs you piece of crap

          • jack nichols

You and your little army of faggots, you could never hurt me, better go back to sucking that big banana you love so much, and leave the fighting words for real men

          • CASTIEL

….you a real men????? you are a coward….without respect and honour……if you dont have that you will never be a warrior…….i dont need a army to break your legs …just myself…..as a veteran of war my army didnt need the A bomb like you defend to defeat my enemy….you coward.

          • Matt M

So, in your mind, because the Russians were “planning” a trip to the moon, they share responsibility with the US, Western Europe and other Capitalist (or formerly Capitalist) countries for the light years of advancement we have observed in the past 200 years?
So, just out of curiosity, what Socialist country, in the past 100 years, has the world reaped the most economic benefit from?

          • Muhammad Abbass

That would be very hard to answer. Among the choices would be Australia, Germany, Denmark….should I continue? Idiot!

          • Matt M

LOL, really? These countries have been “socialist” for like 20 years? Besides a welfare, what are the contributions of these nations you listed since they have become welfare states.
            Name them specifically.

          • Muhammad Abbass

Your rather lazy effort to respond via fake rhetoric requires a medium sized dissertation to answer and I can’t be bothered. Get stuffed. 🙂

          • Matt M

It’s because you can’t answer it.
I’m asking for specific human-changing innovations that have come from Socialist countries. I’m talking about entire new fields that have raised our standard of living.
You know… simple things like electricity, the auto industry, aviation, agricultural techniques, medical breakthroughs that have doubled the life expectancy, information technology. ALL of these fields were developed within a Capitalist framework.
Australia, Denmark, and any Socialist country you can think if responsible for, hmmm, nothing.
The socialist concept as an economic system is worthless. The more people are sold this pathetic system, the sooner we’ll all be living in the Dark Ages.

          • Muhammad Abbass

Well it’s a hell of a lot more than the US has contributed unless you place a premium on war, genocide and social devastation.

          • Bishma Wood

I’m Australian. Having a welfare system do not a socialist state make.

          • Muhammad Abbass

I am also Australian and this is a socialist country. By American standards we are indeed socialists, and on a par with Denmark, a country I also have lived in. It isn’t my analysis but common on the net. Perhaps I got a better education being older than you? We did get a better education back when I was young anyway.
            We have:
            free health assistance MEDICARE

            free education PUBLIC SCHOOL

            an AGED PENSION

            a DISABILITY PENSION

            a MINIMUM WAGE (SAFETY NET)

a housing scheme for the underpriveliged (HOUSE COMMISSION)

a support for the unemployed (DOLE)

a family benefit and other benefit which are sustained by the tax payer

Socialsim is a concept which in practice will inevitably have a lsiding scale of extremes.

        • Muhammad Abbass

          Capitalism punishes “malinvestment” (sic) eh?

          F-35 anybody?

          • Matt M

A jet? lol, so they made advancements to a jet. Wow, how impressive.
Capitalism produces “flight” and jets to begin with. Capitalism produces new fields of medicine that double life expectancy within 100 years despite the fact that life expectancy remained little changed over thousands of years of human history. Socialist countries try to “tweak” such innovations and leach on to them.
Capitalism systems have literally created new planes of human well being in such a short period, and there are those among us who are completely oblivious one way or the other.
And “malinvestment (sic) eh”… Why not look up a word before you display that you are among the oblivious? It’s a word by 20th century economist Ludwig Von Mises. Maybe you should use Google before making your comments.

      • Chef Sp

Bailouts in a capitalist system. Hmmm….”That word ya keep using…I don’t think it means what you think it means.”

      • ubik

The result is always the same?
Like the Heinlein quote, I guess, that the Instapundit uses.

“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.””

      • MaxRockatansky33

To install pro-Western puppet regime and to get hands on Venezuelan oil and central bank.

Every country is on it’s way to economic death, because of energy scarcity.
      .
Imagine a barrel, each stake that makes the barrel hold the water, has a height. That height represent that resource levels of the economy, and the water in the barrel, the economy. If one stake goes missing, all the water flows out of the barrel.

“and unlike Venezuela we aren’t sitting on hundreds of billions of barrels of oil.”

Good article but we are actually, in oil shale reserves.

    • David

Oil Companies that drill for shale reserves are like locusts. they destroy the environment. the old days of drilling like in the 1940′ & 1950’s a well could last for months on end providing oil. nowadays with fracking shale reserves Oil Companies have to drill all the time just to get small amounts from each well. for every well we drill for fracking we use 5 million gallons of fresh drinking water.
Let them continue & fresh drinking water will become in short supply. alternative energy has always been on Big Gov’s Agenda but as long as the profits continued alternative energy always got thrown under the Bus.

      • Scott

That’s with old technology. Technology is improving to where the oil is extracted easier and more and more oil from each well is recoverable. The point was that we actually have more oil then Venezuela.

I am no fan of Obama but I am amazed how easily you blame him for all the ills in the economy. Bush or Clinton before him were no better. The problem lies with the greed that the capitalist economy breeds. Capitalism is no better than socialism.

And Free Market Capitalism Is What Built This Country and the Socialism that has been put upon this sleeping country of ours will continue till all the earned capital over the last 200 years has been eaten up like PAC MAN chop chop chop and the last CHOP will come down on our necks.

“Capitalism is no better than socialism.” In many respects I agree with you. Once someone sees how they can make money or plunder the system to their advantage, the system begins to fail. In the days of the railroads, you had the people who built the infrastructure closely followed by the robber barons who plundered the system for their own benefit. If governments did their job, they would prevent the plunder and rape of businesses but it doesn’t happen. Some of the elected officials see a gain to be made and follow suit. Sadly it is now a flood.

I am all for Socialism, we here in the UK have a free in most degrees, health service , which is excellent, apart from the stupidty and self serving of government interference. Let me state a few facts. a truly truly spiritual planet, and I DO NOT mean religion which has very little to do with being spiritual.. in a spirtually evolved planet, all its members from birth have a right, to food, to healthcare. To education IF they choose it. they have a right to free energy, they have a right to decent shelter.. in other words, the whole planetary society makes sure all its members from birth have a right to exist as spirtually aware humanoid beings.. now, what is stopping us from being ths way?? also., few, maybe no other planet has a monetary system as we do.. it is a major part of our being born on a slave –prison planet.. we simply do not need money!!.. there are other and far better ways to run a society, a planet than a financial system….

    • Mike Smithy

At the end of the day, socialism is for slaves who are willing to give up their freedom for promises that they’ll be given some minimal level of support no matter what. On the other hand, capitalism, not to be confused with crony capitalism, is for people who want the freedom to rise or fall based on their own effort. If you know which type of person you are, then you know whether you should be a capitalist or a socialist.

“The society that puts equality before freedom will end up with neither. The society that puts freedom before equality will end up with a great measure of both.” — Milton Friedman

Capitalism only works if it has an important goal to accomplish or a real enemy to kill.

        • ISA41:10

Capitalism is based upon voluntary contracts between employer and employee. If you can find an employer who will pay more for your labor, you can leave and take your skills and labor to wherever you feel you are more fairly compensated. Absolute zero slavery is involved.

And the biggest source of freedom is the fact that you don’t actually have to labor for anyone. In a free society, you are also free to employ yourself (and others) to pursue what ever venture you think best.

The thing about Socialism that is so insidious is it does not better the lives of those it portends to help. It is not a “Raising UP” of some people but rather the “Cutting Down” of everyone.

          • Mike Smithy

Well said. The end result of Socialism is the destruction of the human spirit that makes everyone equally poor in pursuit of social justice.

          • Steeve Girard

        • GSOB

          False

    • ISA41:10

Can a moral case be made for taking the rightful property of one person and giving it to another to whom it does not belong? I think not. That’s why socialism is evil. It uses evil means (coercion) to achieve what are seen as good ends (helping people). We might also note that an act that is inherently evil does not become moral simply because there’s a majority consensus.

An argument against legalized theft should not be construed as an argument against helping one’s fellow man in need. Charity is a noble instinct; theft, legal or illegal, is despicable. Or, put another way: Reaching into one’s own pocket to assist his fellow man is noble and worthy of praise. Reaching into another person’s pocket to assist one’s fellow man is despicable and worthy of condemnation.

For the Christians among us, socialism and the welfare state must be seen as sinful. When God gave Moses the commandment “Thou shalt not steal,” I’m sure He didn’t mean thou shalt not steal unless there’s a majority vote. And I’m sure that if you asked God if it’s OK just being a recipient of stolen property, He would deem that a sin as well.

In Jer. 7, the Israelites had been burning babies in the fire as an offering to Moloch, the fire god. God made the land desolate, a wasteland. What do you reckon the US has coming for offering up 56 million? When he was elected the first time, I told my Lib. brother that O had one aim; bring this country to its knees. This was a Word of Knowledge. In the fall of 2011, I watched O turn to talk to Netenyahu, and his eyes were big, black, and extremely evil. Later the same clip was shone and his eyes were normal. In 2012, a woman said she was watching O on TV, and his face was evil & demonic. It lasted about 30 seconds. This confirmed what I had seen. When he was “re-elected”, it left no doubt in my mind as to the reality of what I’d been shown. Discerning of Spirits is a much needed gift in the church. I watch what he’s doing to the law and the Constitution, at how he’s pushing to eliminate Jesus from the military and society, at the way he’s pushing homosexuality and common bathrooms, etc.; the list is endless. There is no doubt now that he’s in league with evil, and it’s quite obvious to everyone. There are also many others who have the same aims he does, and are working toward the same ends. I’m a 77-yr-old, full Gospel Christian, a pastor, a veteran, and I don’t care what folks think of me any more. I feel like I’m butting my head against the wall like Jeremiah must have felt. Fiddlin

    • Jacynthia Read

I too have been thinking of Jeremiah lately and drawing the same parallels from the past to the present.

      • watchmannonthewall

That is because Jeremiah was “a prophet to the nations”. Ephraim was told by Jacob he would become a multitude if nations in the midst of the earth. (Genesis 48:16-19) Jeremiah prophesied about 100 years after Ephraim was scattered out of the land but Jeremiah still propesied concerning Ephraim.
Those of us in Messiah are part of Ephraim or the northern 10 tribes. Paul said the descendents of Israel are not rekoned by birth or physical linage. (Romans 9:6-8) Jeremiah spoke to and about us!

I took some pictures I call the “Hand of God” that’s interesting. It isn’t a cloud formation; it came out of the black cloud, it’s nearly white and quite striking against the black background. After that, the Lord led me to Jeremiah, and chapters 5 & 7 stood out. Later I was led to read Proverbs, which I didn’t really want to read either, but chapter one, verses 20-33 explained the “Hand”, and I believe that’s the answer. Only two countries fit that prophecy: the US & Israel, but I believe with no doubt, it’s us. God Bless. Fiddlin

    • ISA41:10

Well said!!! Back when 911 happened my mother was in prayer for our country. God told her that for the next 7 to 8 years God was giving America a time to repent and return to Him. If not, a man would arise bringing America to her knees, morally and economically. My mother said she saw a “browning” of America and anarchy in the streets. We are almost there.

When I researched 0bama back in early 2008 I found nothing but evil on this man. He was the only state and US Senator to vote for killing babies born alive (partial birth abortion). Nothing could be more evil. I now see how people will believe what is false and accept the antichrist when he appears.

And yes you are right! There is very little discernment and wisdom in the Body of Christ today.

      • GSOB

        “…a “browning” of America …..”

        What is that all about?

        • Willard Ferch

Back in the 80s or so, Paul Harvey said that the average US housewife would be brown in so many years, and was not meant to be derogatory, it was just a fact. The white race is declining in numbers all over the planet, and the colored races are mostly proliferating. I’m white, but that’s fine with me; the Lord loves all humans. Fiddlin

          • GSOB

            It is derogatory.

            A child is black
            A child is white
The whole world looks upon the sight
            A beautiful sight!

There’s someone behind him, others behind him.” This was no doubt another Word of Knowledge from the Lord. We began researching him and found what you did. Ever notice that all of our politicians are lawyers? The original 13th amendment specifically denies such madness in our nation, hence the reason it was changed and unlawfully passed.

Trump is a super politician. You don’t make billions of dollars without being a politician.

No man is an island. You don’t have to have been a soldier to become President. There’s a reason why Presidents have advisers and councils and cabinets.

I am not enamored of Trump as I am enamored of NO man….I am enamored of The Lord Jesus Christ.

I support Trump because I listen to what he says….The Wall, all illegals out, no more muslims in, renegotiate all trade agreements gatt nafta and cafta but this time have a person with some brains representing us and not some political hack flunkie and Trump will not let the latest and worse trade agreement named TPP pass, rescind obamacare, renegotiate the Iran Deal by people with some brains, fix the medical insurance industry by letting ins. companies bid across state lines, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc and TRUMP IS NOT A POLITICIAN !

VOTE TRUMP he will put The Benghazi Murderer in Jail !.

          • The Penitent Man

You’ve listened to a lot of politicians during your life, and have had hope in them. None of them followed through on their promises, did they? God had His hand on Nebuchadnezzar’s shoulder too, as His instrument of wrath against Judea and we know how that turned out, don’t we? Seventy long years.

I listen to and I am very skeptical that he’ll do anything he’s promising. When I listen to him I see a huckster, someone telling the people what they want to hear and nothing more, though I hope to the Most High that I am wrong. I know though, that I am not wrong.

He is a politician. Politicians are his closest friends. Who do you think pushes through all of his real estate deals? Trump is surrounded by Jews, and that means we’ll continue to support the “synagogue of Satan” that Jesus spoke of. I can see no good coming our way by supporting such an evil and godless nation.

The only path to real economic recovery is to destroy the stranglehold of the privately owned “Federal Reserve” which is not federal and has no reserves. If Trump doesn’t do that then there is no real chance of a lasting economic recovery.

Let’s see if he builds this wall? But is that what we really need? Or should we be enforcing the law and deporting illegal aliens and punishing American business owners who are hiring these illegal aliens?

I suggest you educate yourself concerning the Immigration and Nationalities Act of 1965 to understand how we got to where we are today, and the people responsible for changing our immigration policies.

We now have over 100 million “legal” aliens in the United States who will not assimilate and never will. These are the people who vote for the Marxist Democrats and want to destroy our people.

Trump may not be a politician in the strictest sense of the world but he isn’t like you or I, Trump is one of the elite. He’s also only one man. Without the support of congress he’ll either be blocked or he will have to take another route. If he takes the latter route it will mean serious problems, though we’ll have serious problems either way, America is crumbling.

            1. True, however I will not have to go through it alone. Whether you do is up to you.
            2. The Bible is authored by the God who created us and given to us for instruction on how to live and avoid all that is occurring and going to occur. Those who ignored it are the cause of the coming destruction.
            3. God created man, man did not create God. Eternity is a long time to spend regretting one’s decisions. If I am wrong, I will have lost nothing. If you are wrong, you will have lost everything.

          • Jomine Jose

            1. It makes it all the more difficul, for almost all the civilisation will be with you. You will be seeing your dear and near die of hunger or get killed.
            2. Bible is written by humans. When you say it is written by god it shows you are taken in by the priests who wrote it. You trust them though you have no other reason other than heredity and tradition. If people follow that book World will be like an ISIS ruled state.
            3. God is concept. God has no existence beyond human mind.
If you are wrong you have lost the only life you got and you can’t be right because you contradict YOURSELF, not me.

          • Preacher62

            1. Death is inevitable in the flesh, the how is irrelevant. The soul lives forever in one of two places.
            2. The Bible could not be written by humans because it goes against the human nature of sinful men. Sacrifice of self for the sake of others ultimately for the glory of God is the message and total depravity will not allow man to choose that path on his own much less attempt to convince others to do so.
            3. God exists in everything that is, else it would not exist. Including you. Life lived for God can never be lost. Pray! Perhaps God will yet choose to open your eyes to the truth.

          • Jomine Jose

            1. It is relevant, if you think it is not it’s only because you have not seen gruesome deaths. And even more painful is the death of near ones. The soul is an irrelevant concept.
            2. The bible is just like any other religious text. In fact it has more violence and rubbish. It IS written by humans. Just because the priests who wrote that stuff managed to convince you, doesn’t make it so. Convincing is easy especially if it is hereditary. That is the reason why people are as convinced about islam, jew, buddist, hindu, …..
            3. Things exist independent of what you think, but god can exist only in the mind for god is a concept – a thought. If everyone stopped thinking about god then there is no god. And you contradict yourself.
Even according to your own belief, the life for a christian god is lost one if god is the muslim$ jewish one. Pray, that you can see the contradiction YOU(how you state exact opposite statements) make that makes your statements meaningless.

      • SunnyFlaSnotress

You rightwing whackjobs don’t like Hillary. White boy media may not like Hillary. But in the end, the country will go with the most rational choice.. Hillary.

        • grumpyhillbilly

Honey if you like perpetual war and parasite banking, then by all means call voting for Hitlery rational. Trump is more of a Russia roulette choice. But I’ll take those odds over her any day. Funny thing is the dems could win easily with Bernie, but the superdelegates say no. Yep….rational.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You like playing Russian roulette, but most Americans are smarter than hillbillies.

          • grumpyhillbilly

But we can feed ourselves! You’ve not acknowledged Bernie being robbed for the rational choice. Guess you are being paid by the Democrat establishment that has opted for Hikary only.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

VOTE TRUMP the mothers of the four Marines say put THE MURDERER in JAIL

          • The Penitent Man

Most Americans are downright ignorant. They think they know what is going on but they really don’t. All they hear and see they believe buy they never delve deeper then they need to. The idea that hillbillies are stupid people just goes to show the ignorance I’m talking about. All that love, acceptance and tolerance, but only for deviants and Marxists.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

VOTE TRUMP he’ll put ” THE HAG ” in JAIL

        • kfilly

You want to continue on the path of destruction. Nice choice. Enjoy your socialist dictatorship.

          • Lazarovic

Wait, you mean we can have a socialist dictatorship by voting in a democracy?
            Who’d a thunk it??

Yes, we are well on the way to that happening. I fear the next President will be our last.

          • someonewhogrewupinsnow

Voting works so well right? Keep drinking the juice Sunny…..you really believe in voting? What a joke. You really have no place to criticize people if you still vote in this country….that goes for all you ” intelligent” people that blog here. • C.L. Strasburg

Oh, that’s a real laugh riot! How do you think the Clinton’s went from zero to mega millions? No, it wasn’t the stuff they stole from the White House.

      • Preacher62

Trump is a continuation of God’s Judgment on America just Obama has been. They are here to give people exactly what they want and that is a nation without God. The Government only exists to remove and replace God as sovereign in the hearts and minds of the people.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

God has work for Trump….this is obvious.

          • Preacher62

Yep, to complete the destruction of the unbelieving. Think Assyrians

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            But Gary Johnson…………

          • Preacher62

Why do you keep bringing up his name? I don’t even know who that is. You have gone off the deep end this time.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

God has work for Trump as Jacynthia has said “TRUMP is not a Godly man but he is Gods man for the hour we live in”

      • kfilly

I believe Trump is a Satanist just like Hitlery, Obama, the British Royal family, and the Bush family. Trump used to go to Jerry Epstein’s place for the sick sex events like Bill Clinton does. Check out the hand signs these people flash. Research photos of them flashing Satanic hand signs. They flash them in unusual places. Funny how these people mock the God I believe in as they show their allegiance to Satan. Perhaps, that is why all of these socialist dictatorships kill religious people. I will vote for Gary Johnson and tell all of these Satanists to pound sand.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

Trump never affiliated or associated in anyway or at any time with that freak Epstein but Bill Clinton has many times been on his plane and to his private island…..interesting how freaks find each other.

      • Steeve Girard

(shakes my head) Here comes the cultists!

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

here comes the F’ed in the head “Wiener King “.

      • The Penitent Man

I agree. God sends a destroyer when His people fall away from following His righteousness. We have gay marriage, transgender Olympic heroes, bathrooms for beasties, black lives matter, Muslims invading Europe without a shot fired and the genocide of the white race, not to mention the erasure of God from every aspect of our public lives.

I don’t see the future as being something to look forward to, it seems very bleak.

        • Gay Veteran

I see you’re fixated on genitalia (typical of a fundie), but not one mention of our wars of aggression against Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc.

    • Mike Smithy

Although I have trepidations of a Trump Presidency, I believe he the only hope we have for setting the USSA back on a righteous path.

      • GSOB

        LOL
        “Righteous path”
        There is none right.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

F’ed in the head…. the list grows

          • GSOB

Such profane vulgarity ought not to be spoken, written or insinuated by the Saints.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

        Well said Mike……….

      • Vizar

Trump is NOT a man of God. So, no. He will fail. We need Jesus to show us the way and to love one another. We, the USA spit upon him still. See, this is where that arrogance has led us.

    • Steeve Girard

I am pretty sure they will let Trump be elected just to be the only one who will land the economic wreck. I do not know if the landing is gonna soft or hard. But due to his previous economic credentials, I would say hard landing, if not crash landing.
      .
So that those Red Shield b@$t@rd$ can get away clean, with more reason for the sheep to elect them.

      • aldownunder

Unfortunately I also think that is exactly what will happen

      • SunnyFlaSnotress

        wrong

      • watchmannonthewall

Fully agree, with the caveat it wasn’t their intent to “let” him get elected. Things got out of their control and now they have to figure out how to use it to their advantage. Your scenario appears to be the correct outcome as they will likely use his election to try to cover the destruction of the nation they have already overseen. His election would provide cover as people blame him for the coming collapse, rather than TPTB who have been steering the nation towards destruction for decades, and aid in the sheeple desiring to bring TPTB back!

The MSM is already presenting their propaganda to the masses: “Trump will destroy the wonderful, growing, economy we have nurtured and built!” Please disregard their ongoing destruction of many of the world’s economies today!

Their actions will say, “If you won’t play the way I want to, I’ll take my toys and go home ($ and go somewhere else). How do you like that USA?”

    • Jomine Jose

America is the new USSR, if Trump is elected he can be the ‘Gorbachev’.

    • Fleming_007

No he’s not. Our only hope is for fellow country men and women coming together to help solve this countries issues. The biggest one is demanding the government to resign and if they don’t we’ll have to use force to get them out. If we survive that, it should just be a priority list on dealing with the rest of the issues. Kinda like the road to being debt free. Gather all your bills, decide which ones need to be addressed first and then start paying them off one by one. The first step is realizing we have to be the change we want. Not rely on one person for the role to magically fix everything.

      • Ken

Agreed. We have to start with ourselves first. Realize what we absolutely need and what we can do without. Then figure out the best way to get it. We can set aside celebrity worship, and get real.

Faith in fiat currency above God is what we have now, but this faith is misplaced as fiat is transient and fleeting. It is best to wake up before the currency crisis, as when it is upon us it will be too late.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

There is no magical fix…..but first get TRUMP as Pres that is first step……no more POLITICIANS

      • Vizar

No, the answer is to return to our values and Jesus. Forget the billionaires, politicians, donkeys and elephants. Realize we our created God’s Children. Think about that for a moment will you……GOD’s children.

        Then start acting like it!

    • Preacher62

      Trump = Chavez

      • WeRThrough

        Hillary=Hitler

        • Preacher62

          Yes I agree.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

So Gary Johnson is more qualified than Trump…….plse stick with preaching.

          • Preacher62

Who the crap is Gary Johnson? Read the thread Bill. I was agreeing with Werthrough that Hillary is equal to Hitler. I have not stopped preaching. Repent from your worship of man and politics and nationalism and put your trust in Jesus Christ.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

I thought you mentioned him in a post he is /was head of the Libertarian Party.

          • Preacher62

Never heard of him, but it is proof that one can believe themselves to be right and still be wrong. Jesus is the answer, not politics.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

We have a responsibility to vote just like we have a responsibility to drive the speed limit

          • Preacher62

No! We have a responsibility to not allow ourselves to be corrupted by the world and to go and make disciples of Jesus Christ and to teach them to not allow themselves to be corrupted by the world.

          • GSOB

If it is sin to you not to vote, then by all means

            don’t!

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

No ! We have an obligation to pick the best candidates that we can….and let God handle things….you are making the enemy happy.

          • Preacher62

The enemy is Satan and he is happiest when he can get God’s people to focus on worldly things instead of things of heaven. Bringing people to belief in Trump is not the same as bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ. Set your sights on things of heaven not on things of earth. You have died to this life and your new life is hidden with God in Christ.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Kfilly mentioned Gary Johnson and werthrough upvoted and you agreed ….why dont you read

        • Preacher62

          Trump=Chavez Hillary=Hitler
US Government = Worldly Kingdom under the control of Satan. I choose none of the above.

          • kfilly

Libertarian Gary Johnson. If enough stupid Amerikans left the two party system, perhaps, things would change.

        • Lazarovic

          WeRThrough = uneducated.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

Who does Johnson =…….stick to preaching plse.

    • Ken

He may not be able to give us a better future, but he would be far better than Hillary. I heard an interesting idea the other day. If Hillary wins (steals) the democratic nomination, perhaps Trump could select Bernie (he has been independent right?) as his running mate. That would virtually guarantee a Trump/Sanders presidency and VP.

      • SunnyFlaSnotress

Maybe you would like someone who’s never flown a plane to be your pilot.
Trump has never, ever, worked in public service.
        He is an aadvertising lipflapper

        • Ken

Well, I would rather have a less experienced person than a known (albeit not convicted yet) criminal, one clearly in leigion with known banking criminals.
You prefer criminals to the inexperienced. I think Trump would be a fast learner.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Gold Star………..

        • WeRThrough

And Hillary is an outright liar and a criminal. She is NOT a good person by ANY stretch of the imagination. Anyone that would vote for her for anything other than jail has no clue about anything. Pathetic! “Maybe you would like someone who’s never flown a plane to be your pilot.” What do you think we got when obama was elected??

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You may not like a number of her actions, but she is a proven effective leader with experience.

          • Brian

Leader? She’s a leader all right, she lead you straight 2 HELL!

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Gold Star……….

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

She is a POLITICIAN……VOTE TRUMP he will put her in jail !.

            VOTE TRUMP REMEMBER BENGHAZI !

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

VOTE TRUMP he will put the BENGHAZI QUEEN in JAIL.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

When are you going to GET IT that TRUMP SUPPORTERS want NO POLITICAL EXPERIENCE do not want a POLITICIAN !

The flying experience that you are talking about IS FLYING A PLANE INTO A MOUNTAIN…..

We want NO POLITICAL EXPERIENCE ! !

          • Steeve Girard

LOL! And that is what you are gonna get with Trump, a very hard landing.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Already done by the design of the traitorous POLITICIANS who sold us out for The New World Order….got it folks !

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

How much prior political experience does Trump have?
      NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!
He talks the talk, but never walked the walk.
But hey.. it’s only THE PRESIDENCY!
Maybe next we’ll grab people off the street w/no medical training to do surgery!

Ok, neither did Ulysses Grant or Dwight Eisenhower have a prior politcal position, though both had a strong military background. Dwight being ” The Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in World War II”
and Grant “Commanding General of the United States Army”
How much military background does Trump have? NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!

“no major U.S. company has filed for Chapter 11 more than Trump’s casino empire in the last 30 years.”
He has filed four business bankruptcies. Maybe he thinks it’s just as easy to

      • C.L. Strasburg

How much prior political experience did George Washington have? Hillary is Obama 2.0 and she comes with a Slick Willy. No thanks.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

“On July 24, 1758, at the first Frederick County Court House on this site, Colonel George Washington, age 26, was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses. This was the first elective office of the young commander of Virginia’s forces here to guard her western frontier.”
“In May 1761 Col. Washington was elected to a second term as Burgess from Frederick County.”
He was also the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

          • C.L. Strasburg

Prior “political experience” not strong military background. You set that all important criterion.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            I gave you both

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

VOTE TRUMP he will put the BENGHAZI QUEEN in jail !

      • kfilly

I am sure you were fine with that when Obama got elected. One term Senator who voted present on most of his votes. Glad he contributed so much wisdom upon the nation. Like his visiting all 57 states, or health care will cost as much as it will cost. Pull George Soros’ hand from the puppet and see how smart he is.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

I voted for Hillary in the 1st Primary. You voted for Obama by omission.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

YOU dont get it Hillary is HATED HATED HATED starting with the mothers of the four Marines.

          • kfilly

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In this case, that would be voting for Democrats or Republicans. You have just proven to me that you are insane. For the record, I voted for Gary Johnson last election.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

VOTE TRUMP put the Benghazi Queen in Jail NO MORE POLITICIANS

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

VOTE TRUMP against the BENGHAZI MURDERER !

The mothers of the 4 marines killed at BENGHAZI say
      …………………………VOTE TRUMP………………………………

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

TRUMP is not a POLITICIAN ! we have had our fill of POLITICIANS !

VOTE TRUMP against HILLARY the BENGHAZI MURDERER !

        • Lazarovic

BILL THINKS YOU’LL LISTEN TO HIM IF HE TYPES IN ALL CAPS!

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Go back to RUSSIA……

    • Vizar

NO. Not really. He is a late Roman Emperor Impostor. Jesus is the only answer and He is nothing as ignorant, bigoted and nasty as Trump. But as always we spit upon His message. So, we shall reap what we are sowing.

    • Bob Cherry

Trump or Hillary… LOL Go watch Mad Max to see the future of your BS economic theory, and what it will get you .

  • Debora Edholm

Indeed I understand exactly what you have stated and believe it will be worse. Many can not see it yet and they will very soon. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.

There is WAAAAY more to this than what we are being told. The U.S. is using this Venezuela situation to destabilize CA and the Caribbean. Not trying to stir trouble, just please, be aware not all is not as it seems.

I do not give a “welley” to Joseph, prophet of the Christians.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

You have no knowledge of The Bible !. Joseph is not a prophet of the Christians.

        • Steeve Girard

Wrong, I read it the rational way, you read it the believer way. In my rational mind your book is about sex, domination, destruction of what is different and the domination of women.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Maybe on the RESERVATION your type of double talk works……or maybe after a bushel basket of peyote in the peace pipe…but you are just full of BS…..you talk about things you know nothing about.

In your rational mind read this ” you are F’ed in the head “

          • Jerry C

Wrong, you read it with a reprobate mind. Explains much.

I think that judgement is going to come to America no matter what happens as the point of tolerance has passed and this transgender agenda just shows how serious America is to pervert the foundation on which America has been built. Trump is a good option as he is not part of the corrupt establishment and I think he has good practical solutions for combatting the PC policies of the past which have destroyed America . however I believe that America is at the door of judgement as a perverse society always collapses in on itself as history shows.

    • Steeve Girard

Not only America, the whole of the world! We should have never listened to the monotheists two millennias ago.
      .
Their ideas of exploiting the Earth and all it’s life, has been a bad idea from the start.
      .
We should have only taken a share and let the rest go on it’s own, and manage our population.

Look, I don’t agree with the man, either, on some issues, but making racist remarks and swearing at people does not help. We have been called to a higher standard. Your words are making it harder for others to be a light, and might I add, pointing your three fingers right back at you in terms of Proverbs 26:4. What about the proverb where a soft answer turns away wrath?

        • Gay Veteran

          Proverbs 26:4

  • William Lutz

This is especially disappointing, because some of my friends and half of my family live in Venezuela. I am pretty aware of what is going on down there, and it is very depressing.

The last time I went there to visit was when my grandma died of liver cancer 10 years ago; it was a sad moment. Ever since then, it went so downhill that I didn’t feel safe going there anymore. It is unfortunate that I can no longer enjoy the country that used to be very prosperous. It was the wonderful nation my mom grew up in, and then the scumbags got the hold of it.

To be honest, Venezuela has no hope.

    • Steeve Girard

The world has no hope! We are heading to the second dark ages, and it will last until our world population falls to two billions.

      • Paul Patriot

Wrong, it will last until Jesus set s his foot on the Mt. Of Olives

        • Steeve Girard

When will you get it that Jesus, God, Yaweh, Allah are as real as Gungir and Mjolnir. They are from the old cult, before monotheism, before polytheism. They are from a cult that worship the male organ as supreme, and that is what they all are: “wieners”!

    • Steeve Girard

It’s not only the American way that is responsible of this mess, it’s the way we lived on Earth for the last 2000 years. Most of you never considered the Earth as a living being in which we should had a symbiotic relation with.
      .
You considered it a piniata full of goodies, to wreck open. Well guess what the piniata is broken and emptied now.
      .
You made billions believe in religions that never respected life at it’s fundamental levels.

Seriously? I love this blog and have been reading it for years but blaming socialism for all of these happenings is not only inaccurate but damaging to progress in general. Socialism is not perfect. Capitalism has far more imperfections. It’s the ideology that got us to this point isn’t it? All of the jobs leaving the west for the east? The rampant exploitation of workers’ right? The increasing poverty and inequality? Increasing debt? The reason western nations are so indebted are because of capitalist features such as interest. Both systems have positives and negatives. Why are we still wasting our time condemning the other side when there is clearly so much work to be done on uniting the best of both systems? Like most things in life this is not a black/white situation.

    • Péter Kiss

Most of the people coming to this blog are not enough intelligent to understand what you write including the guy running this blog. He is a one sided narrow minded guy and also a christian fundamentalist, people like him will never bring to much good for the society, his only advantage is that he collects this information and gives good hints about how to prepare, but his world view is so narrow as I just skip anything that contains his world view. But since months unfortunately he is becoming more and more an ideologist instead of an information collector and spreader which is said and is a big backdevelopment for any human being.

    • grumpyhillbilly

All isms suck. They all require a fiat system with enriched overlords to designate who gets and who doesn’t. It has been a long time since we have actually had free markets and private ownership.

Modern socialism with money is banker imposed slavery. Pretty easy to figure out when you know how your banking system works. We also were not supposed to have corporations in Amerika. Thomas Jeffereson rightfully feared they would challenge the government for power.

When are people going to realize that capitalism AND socialism BOTH work? It’s FASCISM that doesn’t, and it’s what’s destroying the U.S and what’s destroying Venezuela. So while we sit here pointing fingers at each other about who’s system is failing everybody else and who’s system is the best, they are getting away with these criminal activities. DISGUSTING.

    • ISA41:10

If you tell someone he will not get the full fruit of his labor or investment because it must be shared, the incentive is to not work as hard. Conversely, if you tell someone they can get something for nothing, what incentive is there to work at all? After a time, no one wants to work and “everyone has nothing” because little to nothing is being produced. Any liberal who denies this needs only to look at there very own poster child, Venezuela Venezuela´s response to food shortages? Grow your own food at home ! Suffice it to say, anytime a country has less than half its population supporting another non-working and larger half, IT’S OVER!

For evil to prosper good men do nothing. Going back to junior high 4 decades ago I warned my classmates about the onslaught of the left, persistent/never ending and spread over many generations. The US quickly adopted the counter culture of the 60’s and made it the culture. Three major goals…wipe out Christianity, the U.S. and Israel. I did the best I could to sound the alarm bells but it wasn’t enough. I myself succumbed to some of the modern culture evils and forgot God. I came back to the Lord and got saved but it is too late for me. Your only hope…Call on the name of the Lord and you shalt be saved, then repent of your sins. This will break the grip of the evil one and free you of this earth. God Bless, get saved and we will see each other in the next life.

I am a newcomer to America, but the one thing I learned years ago, is about those who call themselves “Conservatives”.

Social Conservatism is based on 5 principles:

    (1) Hate and Fear
    (2) Hate and Fear
    (3) Hate and Fear
    (4) Hate and Fear
    (5) Hate and Fear

Then there is a distant 6th. and 7th.

    (6) The implicit belief that Time Travel will address their needs
    (7) Lack of Compassion

Are you sure about that? College campuses are fairly liberal, and a lot of them shut down speech they consider offensive. Essentially, if you don’t agree with them, your opinion does not matter. Sounds kind of fascist to me. I am not a Trump supporter, but I see a lot of violence instigated by Trump protestors. Typically, you do not see the violence in large scale from the conservative side. If one did, the media would be all over it. I don’t agree with everything one side or the other side does. The poster I was responding to just made me laugh with her ignorant comment. Reading her post I can tell she is a statist. Statists are the problem.

If you are going to make a statement likes this, “The U.S. government is mismanaging our money too. During Barack Obama’s eight years in the White House, the U.S. national debt has risen by more than eight trillion dollars.” Then which bill exactly signed by president Obama is his fault for “mismanaging”. I think Obama is the biggest goat as much as the next person. But if you are going to make bold statements like “mismanagement” then you have to back it up with some substance. Otherwise what you are saying is pure BS. I think you can blame the House more than Obama. Doesn’t the House determine the budget? And since the Republicans are in the majority do they get the majority of the responsibility?

If you are going to blame Obama then what did he do exactly?

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

      Start with OBAMACARE !

      • df NJ

Healthcare premiums have risen 20% per year for the last 15 years. That means every 5 years it doubles in cost. That’s a 300% increase in the cost of a premium. Before and after Obamacare made absolutely no difference. So what is your point? Or are you completely math illiterate and fact-less? Because the way I see it, Obama may be the absolutely greatest ineffectual president in our history. Cuba will be about the only thing he will be remembered for in his legacy.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

“Summers’s deeper argument is that world growth is stuck in a rut because there’s a chronic shortage of demand for goods and services and a concomitant excess of desired savings. The U.S. and other industrialized nations tend to save more as their populations age, he says. Meanwhile, growing inequality puts a bigger share of the world’s income in the pockets of rich people; they can’t spend everything they make, so they save it. The investment that would ordinarily soak up those savings is falling short. That’s partly because the new economy is asset-lite: Companies such as Uber and Airbnb prosper by exploiting assets (cars and houses) that already exist. Software, which is pure information and doesn’t require the construction of factories, accounts for a bigger share of the economy. Slow growth in output and productivity reduces investment as executives lose faith in the payoff from capital spending.”

there’s a “chronic shortage of demand for good” because people don’t have the money to buy them

  • Hugo Schonhaar

When the US dollar fails the whole world will be affected. The nations of the world will go bakrupt when they realize the US debt they hold will never be paid back.
We are spending (stealing) our great-grandchildren’s future tax payments in the form of entitlements and government squandering.
Remember, this is the goal -the end game:
    1. Bankrupt the nations of the world through debt and hyperinflation.
    2. Offer national debt forgiveness in return for adopting a global, electronic currency.
    3. With electronic “cash” all transaction will be monitored and social control will continue to tighten.
    4. Issue everyone with a smart card to pay for goods.
    5. Offer the “convenience” of an optional bio chip that will contain all ID and banking information.
    6. Make the Chip mandatory at birth and eventually force everyone to be chipped in order to buy and sell.
    7. Eventually tie in allegience to a world leader in order for the chip to function (Mark of the Beast). Those who refuse to swear allegience to this man will have their bio chip disabled.
    8. While folks are dealing with the new ecomnomic realities, bring in global government and promote a one world religion.

    • Steeve Girard

They cannot have electronic cash if there is no functioning electrical power. That is what is meant as energy death! Nor can they make their microchips or any electronics of any sort in an energy death situation. That is what is coming in 2030.

If the decent people had understood that as distasteful as it was they should have put a bullet in Chavez’s head long ago, then millions of children could have been saved this tragedy. Matthew 24, famines and hatreds and more, the beginnings of sorrows, then matthew 24:15 onward, the abomination of desolation then Great tribulation and it shows in Revelation 6:8, 1/4th of menkind done in via famine along with war and more.
Rev 6:8 is not just war but several things.
After Rev 6 and the seal judgements comes Rev 9:15 and the trump judgements and it reads as mostly just war and 1/3rd of menkind is done in then.
That’s a concern for the lost, those who strive to save only the skin over their bones as if that’s the all in all, they don’t have the promises and just one of many like john 11:25-26 and 1st john 5:11-12..
So’s nows the time to have life, have Christ.

Watch the YouTube videos on the documentary of the collapse of Argentina (about twelve videos of an average of an hour each). In addition, watch the YouTube video of Economic Hitman. There criminals go into a country & do one or more of the following: bribe a politician, blackmail a politician or kill the politician (if he can’t be bribed or blackmailed); print fiat currency in trillions to bury the country in debt; and then force the country into “austerity” measures to change their laws over to international laws. America is just next on their list. The Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 was put into place in order to prevent another Great Depression. It was removed in order to create another one. Everything has been planned to create a centralized one-world government that will control every aspect of our lives. There’s a really old book that prophesies of this end-time government and there will come such evil & horror that there will never be another time like it.

  • NARENDRA MODI KING of WORLD

yes, similar will be playing out in other socialist countries as well. Asian countries that have been looted by the imf and world bank for 72 years through brettonwoods and petrodollar, the people will one day wake up their currencies go really far as far as purchasing power. As the western countries degenerate into a collapse, (read markets reaching fair value), People in Asian countries will wake up that their standards of living have gone up. It wont be that wealth will transfer from west to EAST. The truth is western financial institutions will be paralyzed in trying to subsidize living standards of western countries by EASTERN nations. PUTIN of Russia and PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA NARENDRA MODI along with Iran are working towards a multilateral world getting control of their economies and destinies. So, yes, the market reaching equilibrium (collapse) will happen in western socialist countries and market reaching equilibrium (rise) will happen in Eastern countries side by side. That is what the oil collapse was all about: Eastern nations colluding to paralyze western financial institutions.

Yes, just remember, “it’s coming here next”… In order to sell fear, and the products that go along with it, “it’s coming here next” has to be a part of the commercial. Just like the Cyprus bank bail ins, the Greek collapse, Ebola, they were all headed here next. Where did they go?

Raise Venezuela in your prayers for intercession in these terrible times. That in this 21st century that the so called civilized nations can wage economic warfare upon our fellows is disgusting. It would appear the babies and the incubator story may be more than propaganda. The New York Times is undoubtedly using it to cast a negative light in Maduro when in fact it is the shining stars of capitalism that stand convicted of acts and omissions. incorrect. the only way we are able to live the way that we do is because of the federal reserve fiat debt dollar. the dollar is a tool of theft, originally from us the citizens of the united states, and now from the entire world, the wealth of the nations passing through us on its way to the owners of the dollar. the dollar is owned, not by the united states, but by a consortium of private banks. these “banker elites”, these “international financiers”, are able to live the way they do by stealing from the rest of us.

who are these “banker elites”? who are these “international financiers”? who are these people?

    • AirborneSoldier

      Bigot.

  • jack nichols

Funny, the USA gets most of her oil from Venezuela, they have huge oil reserves, but the so called Socialist Maduro government is causing this crisis. Funny they blame the problem on the imperialist US govt. This will explode into civil war in the near future. They are eating their pets to stave off starvation. People starving are a huge social problem, what would you do as you watch your children starve? This happened in the ancient siege of Jerusalem by Titus, and the people were eating and selling their children for food.

    • AirborneSoldier

      Imperialist. LOL.

  • ubik

    Thanks Chavez!

    • AirborneSoldier

      Serious.

  • Muhammad Abbass

What we’d like to see is socialism without US endless machinations against it’s success. It isn;t as if Venezuela’s problems are happening in a vacuum FFS! Oh and for the record you mindless zombies throwing stones and screeching every time you see “Socialism”…there are many socialist countries around the world doing fine and putting you yanks to shame with how we manage to provide free education, health and unemployment as well as tensions etc.. Australia and Denmark are both traditionally socialist countries and indeed socialism remains the basic cultural norm in most of Northern Europe..

    • Mark

The economic fundamental model of socialism fails. Those Scandinavian countries have different demographics and the populations are much smaller. Also, those same countries are beginning to have economic problems too. Larger countries such as China have to go to a more free market system to create capital to survive. Socialism eventually bankrupts an economic society leaving behind a less educated, poverty stricken, dictatorship driven society. You need to understand the fundamental economic differences and outcomes of capitalism vs. socialism. A properly run capitalist economic model will always out perform a socialist system. In the US we have a crony system which has imposed a large dose of socialism. Obviously you do not know American history. For instance, the Great Society programs of 1965 under LBJ created socialist programs such as welfare, section 8, food stamps, and other government run programs. These programs through time have deteriorated our society by creating more poverty, ghettos, high drug use, and dependency on government while having less educated people.
I have always hear the same old story from people like you on the left. Same old same old. I recommend you move to North Korea and live there for a year and I bet you will then embrace capitalism. Also, live in China for a while and see if their living standards are anything close to ours. Capitalism is a wonderful thing if it is executed properly and created many great products, services, and jobs. A socialist system is limited and never creates wealth. It only gives out mediocre free stuff that never sustains a society.

    • AirborneSoldier

The socialist states of europe could only afford to be be such due to the us carrying their defense during the Cold War. That has been over for many years and most if not all of these nations are bankrupt. And have lousy health care. No, socialism is robbing one or more to give to another, it is always doomed to fail. Sooner or later you run out of other peoples money!

  • Matt M

You think that “Capitalism” created the A bomb? Uh huh. So, in your mind you think that was a major business venture of some sort?

Ok… The conversation has flown off the rails a little bit.

You are right, advancements are caused by people with ideas. That is what capitalism produces at a rate of about 100:1.
Nobody is saying that zero people in Socialist countries can have a “good idea”, but I think it should be fairly obvious.

    • CASTIEL

USA created the A bomb……people with ideas will have those ideas no matter what system rules the country they live,,,,,,,,,war it is and always will be a major business….so in your idea capitalism is good? So why we are in this situation???We need a new system….new ideas…a revolution….because mankind is folowing a dangerous road…..

      • Matt M

The “USA created the A bomb.” I’m trying to figure out what this has to do with Capitalism?
You do understand that it was the US Govt that created the A bomb, not private enterprise, right? Capitalism in is the notion of creating wealth via private enterprise. It has nothing to do with the debate of over the A-bomb.
If you’re going to bring such an irrelevant subject into the discussion, it seems this would me more of an argument against centralized government. The Russians, the Germans and the US were all trying to get the A-Bomb at the same time. It just so happens the one that was the most Capitalist had the where-with-all to win the contest. lol
I just haven’t figured out whatever point it is you’re trying to make with “the A bomb”
Your argument is a red-herring, the invention of the A-Bomb and a discussion about Capitalism are two completely different subjects.

        • CASTIEL

You must be very idiot…….you know how much money some private enterprises win…. with the pathetic wars your fuher Obama created?????You asked the benefits that capitalism countries gave to the world….the A bomb an example…you said that capitalism created that …..and i said no…… it was the USA….do you understand now??????..but i asked and i ask again if you think capitalism is so good why we are in this situation you moron????????leave the A Bomb alone…..and bring facts to support your stupidity…i believe that a new system is needed…

          • Matt M

Ok… most Americans don’t consider Obama our “fuher”. He has many supporters and many detractors.
Many of his detractors would claim he supports Socialism much the same as you seem to.
Apart from that, I can barely understand what point you are trying to make pertaining to Capitalism and the A bomb.

          • CASTIEL

You are not very smart as i can see……And you still didnt answer my previous question……

      • jack nichols

The USA created the A bomb to kill Japs and end WW2 before the Japs killed good Americans. Simple concept even for the retarded like you

        • CASTIEL

Killing thousands civilians????womens childs……inocent people…….because your army havent the courage to fight a proper war????……maybe one day someone use the A bomb in your country by your concepts…..you stupid cockroach……you have the IQ of a monkey…go eat some bananas…..pathetic oldman

  • Just Wondering

What if Venezuela is the beta test for the US?

  • Matt M

You’re talking ethics vs an economic system. These are two completely different subjects. No one is arguing for an unaccountable and non-transparent form of Capitalism.
They are in fact “absolute systems” in the sense that one is collective ownership and the other is individual. Just because there are no countries that do nor should strictly adhere to either does not mean that they are not absolute.
Generally speaking, the countries that have made it their goal to tack closer to a Capitalist system have far outperformed those who have made it their goal to tack closer to a Socialist system. This is an unequivocal fact.
Obviously there will be exceptions to every rule, and for a 10 or 15 year period, a Socialist country will appear to be doing just wonderful (IE how it has for a few million people in Northern Europe).
Sort of like the uncle who smoked his whole life and lived to be 92, there’s always exceptions to the rule.
Choosing to smoke is always a stupid idea in much the same way as choosing socialism is always a stupid idea irregardless of whatever exceptions you see from time to time.

    • gustave courbet

A mixed system that have transparent, democratic, state-socialism and regulated capitalism has the highest chance of serving the citizens of a government.

Total state-socialism is obviously a failure, and unregulated capitalism does not serve the many in a society. There are many social services and functions that are poorly served by the profit motive that is the engine of capitalism, from police and fire, to healthcare, and other basic necessities.

Likewise there are numerous areas where capitalism will provide the most innovative and effective solutions.

The tendency to polarize between two fictive absolutes is neither useful or pragmatic. Both systems have demonstrated their capacity for terrible destruction and both have demonstrated a capacity to sustain (relatively) equitable and prosperous societies.

      • Matt M

When you state “from police, to fire to healthcare”, you state this sort of flippantly as though they are all the same thing. Clearly the “police” have the specific mandate of executing the law that is established by the government. Clearly the police is an arm of the government.
Even the most naked forms of Capitalism have government police forces to enforce the rule of law.
This has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what economic system produces the most wealth and produces the greatest standard of living for it’s citizens.
Comparing “health care” to “police” is a stupid analogy. They are not comparable at all.
Under a Capitalist healthcare system, the life expectancy of average humans has done nothing but increase from decade to decade for the past 100 years.
Comparing “police” and “fire” to “healthcare” is perfectly absurd. It is the kind of argument that would only make sense to a Socialist. They are simply not comparable.

        • gustave courbet

Oh, gotcha. Is that why the US ranks 27th in infant mortality among first world countries (just behind Slovakia)? Is that why we have fewer doctors per person, or pay 2.5 times more than other developed nations for health care? Health care is a human right, and applying “market solutions,” which incentivizes cost cutting rather than human well-being, is a demonstrable failure. You’ve clearly made up your mind sans facts though, so I’ll not trouble you further with information that disrupts your world-view.

          • Matt M

Who cares if it ranks 27th or even 100th in infant morality? What does that have to do with anything?
You need to do a bit of a study in logic. It’s called “The Causation Fallacy”.
You just definitively implied that because the US is a Capitalist country (which it is not any longer in any sense of the word) that this is what caused it to be 27th in infant mortality.
You’re merely attributing the cause to whatever you want it to be.
Have you ever heard of other factors such as drug use during pregnancy, violence to pregnant women, care for the child during the first year etc etc etc. All of these are demonstrably FAR higher in American inner cities, which are not like other “first world countries”, but are culturally more similar to third world countries. I
I’m talking about innovation and a sea-change in the standard of living. Where do “information technology revolutions” occur? Where do automation revolutions occur? Where do new fields of medicine occur that literally double the life expectancy of the average human within 2 or 3 generations? Where do entire new fields of industry such as aviation arise?
            It’s all within Capitalist frameworks.
If you’re talking about temporary statistics such as Swedes or Canadians living a few years longer on average because they have lower rates drug use, violence, smoking etc etc, then you are hopeless my friend.
I’m talking about ECONOMIC INNOVATION and WEALTH CREATION. The things you’re talking have absolutely nothing to do with this whatsoever. I can tell you now, all the people from Detroit MI moved to Sweden or whatever country you wanted to point to, those countries would no longer lead the world in any of the areas.
Either way, this has nothing to do with economics.

          • gustave courbet

I see. Health trends and health care costs have nothing to do with health care. Neato. It’s only causation fallacy, if there’s no causation involved. There’s plenty of evidence demonstrating that the US healthcare system is failing people in many ways (though not all), but I’ll not bore you with annoying information.

I’d respond to the other problematic statements you made (several of which have nothing to do with my position) but you seem to be pretty certain of what you think you know and what you think I’m attempting to say.

          • Matt M

I did not say “health trends and health care costs have ‘nothing’ to do with health care”. You’re imagining things.
I said your citation of “infant mortality” and “health care costs” has nothing to do with comparing the stunning success of Capitalism over the past 200 years to the abject failure of Socialism over the past 100 years.
The “low costs” and “universal availability” of healthcare in Europe is very recent, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the development of the great medical infrastructure we have enjoyed the past several decades and now.
You do understand that the European Union as an entity is about to collapse, right? You do understand that around the year 2000 every Liberal economist in the world believed that this union would be the new great world economic power? Within 12 years of their creation, the ONLY thing that keeps them together are new debt “deals” that are thrown together under panic at the last second about every 6 months.
Healthcare is not a “human right” as you assert, it is a commodity. You only have a “right” to it so long as there is another person is who able and willing to provide it to you. This is what the Socialists does not understand, and this is why it is a failure.
When it all falls apart, then we’ll see what kind of “human right” that healthcare really is.

          • gustave courbet

You’re apparently unwilling to look at the failures of capitalism and the successes of socialism. The reverse is not true of myself, as I’m well aware of the benefits of capitalism and the dangers of socialism.

I suggest you relax your ideological intransigence and take a more neutral look at the history of the 19th and 20th centuries. You will find horrors perpetrated under the auspices of capitalism and socialism, as well as successes.

          • Matt M

The reason I’m ideologically intransigence is because the success of Capitalism as compared to Socialism should be obvious to everyone everywhere.
You still have refused to answer my question. What is THE greatest innovation that has contributed to a better standard of living for human beings that has originated from a Socialist country, economic partnership etc? This should be THE single best example.
No matter what continent or culture, I have yet to see a country committed to Capitalism where there are literally people starving to death.
Where there are failures in Capitalism, which are generally failures in human nature, then we can address them. The very first step we need to take as a society, and as a culture, is to just admit that Capitalism has FAR out performed Socialism in respect to creating a higher standard of living for anyone living within their systems.
We need to admit that Socialism has been a pathetic failure at increasing life-expectancy, standard of living and opportunity.
When we can admit these things, which should be very easy to do for anyone, unless they are intransigence as you state, then we can start solving some of our problems.

          • gustave courbet

I’m not arguing against Capitalism, quite the contrary. These two constructs are not mutually exclusive (to say that one is better than the other is to miss the point that both are incomplete failures without counterbalances of some sort). As I said, a MIXED system that maintains the advantages of both capitalism and socialism will generate the most prosperity for the most people. Capitalism seems to be the ‘natural’ economic system that people gravitate towards, and should be the standard for that reason. But unfettered capitalism creates horrors. This is born out by history. The same can be said of total state-socialism.

The colonial era is replete with examples of capitalism wrecking havoc across South American, Asia, and Africa, the repercussions of which are still being felt today (and there are still today innumerable examples of human depredation wrought at the expense of capitalism). Though mostly forgotten in the US, the labor movement made a huge contribution to the standard of living in the industrialized world, and made industrial capitalism much more humane (the hard fought benefits that many died for are still being enjoyed today, and they were the products of socialist social movements that applied pressure to government to regulate capital).

As you acceded earlier, most people accept that privatizing emergency services would not benefit society (though I’ll not be surprised when this occurs) as criminals will be able to outbid victims to buy the police, and fire fighters will be able to extort the owners of burning buildings. The implication is that there are SOME social functions to which the profit model should not be applied (though it could be) for the benefit of all. My modest point was that socialized medical care, which puts the Hippocratic oath before stock prices, is a straight-forward extension of this same logic, and contrary to your position has demonstrated efficacy in maintaining public health in MIXED systems like Western Europe.

Unregulated Capitalism, Like state-socialism, allows large unaccountable organizations to brutally exploit the masses of people who have no power. If one’s goal is a society in which people thrive, such a state of affairs should be intolerable. If on the other hand, one believes either in the “iron law of history” or the “invisible hand of the market,” or some other demonstrably false paradigm born out of ideological extremism, than compromise, pragmatism, and a multifaceted approach to problem solving would be an anathema.

          • Matt M

I agree with the criticisms you applied to Capitalist systems and corporations of the past (and present for that matter).
I concur that many of them seemingly will do almost anything for profit, even if it means hurting people. All I’m arguing is that Socialists have done the same thing. I can point to the Soviet and Chinese killing of millions of people.
All this is to say that human beings have done bad things. Bad things should be against the law.
The argument here isn’t about if any Capitalists are bad, selfish etc. I agree with that 100%, and I have no interest in Corporate despots any more than I have an interest in government despots. I even hate the phrases that I hear some Capitalists using about “greed being good” and that sort of non-sense.
The only unequivocal fact that I recognize is that Capitalism has succeeded in making enormous innovations that have made human well-being better, and Socialism has very little to show.
Your insistence that I’m somehow ideologically attached to Capitalism couldn’t be more incorrect. My only ideology is that of Christianity. If it could be demonstrated that Socialism dramatically raises our standard of living, prevents children from starving, creates new medical innovations etc etc, then I would support it in a second. Like I said before, in those countries who make it their goal to track closest to a Capitalist system , unequivocally have created the most innovations for human well-being.
I do largely believe in the invisible hand of the market. Not that it is really invisible, but it’s million upon million of transactions where people know what they need and others know how to supply those needs, and each can benefit. The invisible hand theory is that it “seems” invisible and it is very intricate and complex. Trying to plan what people “need” and forcing people to supply those needs seems to me to have been a complete failure.
I do also admit that there are a few particular situations where only the government can produce a given necessity, such as a police force, military etc etc as you alluded to. Clearly if a government passes laws, they must be able to enforce those laws, and clearly if it is their primary purpose to protect their citizens, then they must be able to do it.
However, healthcare simply does not fall into this area. I think socializing it is a huge mistake.
I do understand your point, and hope you understand mine.

          • gustave courbet

I definitely think we’re closer to understanding each other than when we started. I’ll leave it here but am glad we were able to find some common ground and language, which is so often hard to do in the ultra-polarized and blindly obstinate world of internet discourse.

  • White Man

Here in america we constantly hear from the macho types that think they will go bush and live off the land in the event of economic collapse. Also the prepper community here is getting larger every day. But we hear nothing from the Rambo nor prepper types in Venezuela. Wonder why…

  • thanksalot

Well, I’m ready. I have been dumpster diving for years. I have been in an economic downturn for more than 20 years. I never thought I was above doing things to survive…. ah I mean live. Now, I’ll need to protect my dumpster turf. Jeez, who woulda thunk?!

  • AmandaTrebiano

Obama and Bush should both be hung for treason–along with Reid, McConnell and most of Congress. Lying corrupt sacks of $h!t–every one of them.

  • Bob Cherry

Capitalism= semi-feudalism, the science of greed, primitive accumulation. Venezuela was forced into this situation by the US and its puppet state Saudi Arabia gutting the oil market. Yes, Venezuela may have badly mismanaged their economy, by not planning, for US retaliation against their government. Every government the US elite, cannot control is going through economic chaos. Syria, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Russia, Venezuela and the brick nations. The US rules the world with an iron fist. World bank, International Monetary Fund, Bank of International Settlements, Exchange Stabilization Fund are the real government. I called the financial axis the “Iron Bank”

This is why you better get your guns ready. Lots of ammunition will not let you starve. Just saying…

The problem is that capitalism should be encouraged, just that the profits from it that should be redistributed.
