Why Are So Many People Freaking Out About A Stock Market Crash In The Fall Of 2015?

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Manhattan Stock Market Crash In 2015 - Public DomainIs the stock market going to crash by the end of 2015?  Of course stock market crashes are already happening in 23 different nations around the planet, but most Americans don’t really care about those markets.  The truth is that what matters to people in this country is the health of their own stock portfolios and retirement accounts.  There are a lot of people out there that are very afraid of what could happen if the money that they have worked so hard to save gets wiped out in a sudden financial collapse.  And right now there is an unprecedented amount of buzz about the potential for a giant stock market crash by the end of this calendar year.  In fact, I don’t think that I have ever seen more experts come out with bold predictions that a stock market crash will happen within a very specific period of time.

The following is a sampling of some of the experts that have made very bold proclamations about the rest of this year over the past few weeks.  Many of these individuals are putting their credibility on the line by proclaiming that a stock market crash is just around the corner…

-Tom McClellan says that we are heading for an “ugly decline” and that there will be “nothing good for bulls for the rest of the year”

Tom McClellan loves doing what financial advisers tell you not to do. He tries to time the financial markets — to the exact day, if his charts align just right.

At the moment, they are telling him to be bullish on the stock market for all of his trading time frames, including those that trade every few days, weeks and months. But bulls should be ready to flee, as soon as this week.

That’s because McClellan said his timing models suggest “THE” top in stocks will be hit some time between Aug. 20 and Aug. 26. He expects “nothing good for the bulls for the rest of the year,” he said in a phone interview with MarketWatch.

McClellan doesn’t have a strong view on how far stocks could fall, just that it will probably be an “ugly decline” lasting into early 2016.

-Harry Dent recently stated that we are just “weeks away” from a “global financial collapse“.

-Gerald Celente says that “the global economy has collapsed” and he is “predicting that we are going to see a global stock market crash before the end of the year“.

-Larry Edelson insists that he is “100% confident” that a global financial crisis will be triggered “within the next few months”…

On October 7, 2015, the first economic supercycle since 1929 will trigger a global financial crisis of epic proportions. It will bring Europe, Japan and the United States to their knees, sending nearly one billion human beings on a roller-coaster ride through hell for the next five years. A ride like no generation has ever seen. I am 100% confident it will hit within the next few months.”

-Jeff Berwick, the editor of the Dollar Vigilante, says that there is “enough going on in September to have me incredibly curious and concerned about what’s going to happen“.

-Egon von Greyerz recently explained that he fears “that this coming September – October all hell will break loose in the world economy and markets“.

-Even the mainstream media is issuing ominous warnings now.  Just a few days ago, one of the most important newspapers in the entire world published a major story about the coming crisis under this headline: “Doomsday clock for global market crash strikes one minute to midnight as central banks lose control“.

-The Bank for International Settlements and the IMF have jumped on the prediction bandwagon as well.  The following comes from a recent piece by Brandon Smith

The BIS warns that the world is currently defenseless against the next market crisis. I would point out that the BIS has a record of predicting economic crashes, including back in 2007 just before the derivatives and credit crisis began. This ability to foresee fiscal disasters is far more likely due to the fact that the BIS is the dominant force in global central banking and is the cause of crisis, rather than merely a predictor of crisis. That is to say, it is easy to predict disasters you yourself are about to initiate.

It is no mistake that the warnings from the BIS and the IMF tend to come too little too late, or that they are beginning to compose cautionary press releases today that sound much like what alternative analysts were saying a few years ago. The goal of these globalist organizations is not to help people prepare, only to set themselves up as Johnny-come-lately prognosticators so that after a collapse they can claim they warned us all, which can then be used as a rationalization for why they are the best people to administrate the economies of the planet as a whole.

So why are so many prominent voices now warning that a global financial crisis is imminent?

The answer is actually very simple.

A global financial crisis is imminent.

Back on June 25th, I issued a red alert for the last six months of 2015 before any of these other guys issued their warnings.

When I first issued my alert, things were still seemingly very calm in the financial world, and a lot of people out there thought that I was nuts.

Well, here we are just a couple of months later and all hell is breaking loose.  23 global stock markets are crashing, the price of oil has been imploding, a new currency war has erupted, industrial commodities are plunging just like they did prior to the market crash of 2008, a full-blown financial crisis has gripped South America with fear, and junk bonds are sending some very ominous signals.

In the U.S., things are beginning to slowly unravel.  The Dow was down another 162 points on Wednesday, and overall we are now down almost 1000 points from the peak of the market.  At this point, it isn’t going to take much to push us into a bear market.

So enjoy what is left of August.

September is right around the corner, and if the experts that I mentioned above are correct, then it is likely to be one wild month.

  • Alwaystomorrow

The Economic Collapse Blog Has Issued A RED ALERT For The Last Six Months Of 2015.

    Published 6/25/2015.

    135 days until 12/31/2015.

Lets do a count down every day until the end of 2015 and see just what happens.

    By Michael S, on July 31st, 2015.

“And I kind of appreciate the countdown. It reminds people of my warning, and perhaps it will give some readers a renewed sense of urgency.”

    • Jason Wilhelm

Noah warned the antediluvians about a coming flood every day for 120 years. They mocked the messenger and counted the days in jest. It ended badly for them when it finally started to rain. Just because the day and hour may be unclear doesn’t make the message wrong! Lets be wise and discern the signs and warnings around us.

      • G21

One day Alwaystomorrow will be crying that no one warned him of what was coming.

        • In fact, if you read his past comments he is preparing… so he does listen the warning. What he said – to paraphrase him – is that he is rather suspicious of predicting a SPECIFIC time for a collapse…

On another point the question of “Collapse” as it is defined. We should call it more the “Economic Crash” than “Economic Collapse” – a Collapse always takes years in the making, as for a crash it can be instantaneous… and you can have many crashes during the time of a Collapse. In fact, a Collapse is a series of crashes (economy, society, environment, etc) speeding up exponentially toward a death of the Nation/Kingdom/Empire (Rome is always the perfect example of that, but not the only one – Maya Empire is another one).

          • Alwaystomorrow

I was prepared enough prior to 2008 to coast through 2008-2015 without the slightest change in lifestyle at all.

It wasn’t luck (maybe a little) it was planning (what you call prepping).

That is not bragging, it is a fact.

I am even more aware and prepared now than I was then.

I hope G21 as well as everyone else here does as well as I did when problems arise the next time.

I will not keep defending the countdown. You can like it or not. The choice is yours.

          • Isaac

            Glad to see you’re back.

          • Alwaystomorrow

I thought everyone is glad I am here.

          • loadnup

          • Malcolm Reynolds

What he said – to paraphrase him – is that he is rather suspicious of predicting a SPECIFIC time for a collapse…

Mmmm, no. The buffoon has incorrectly ascribed an outcome not in this author’s writing, to the author. IOW, he’s a liar. Guess what makes you for defending that imbecile.

          • Alwaystomorrow

            Good afternoon Mr. Reynolds.

          • Malcolm Reynolds

            Faith and Begorra! Oh wait.

          • blablabla… If you don’t like it, Stuff it

          • Malcolm Reynolds

Lol, have a good one! Buffoon.

          • Alwaystomorrow

I haven’t hrd the word buffoon in years.

            Buffoon and imbecile, wow! 🙂

          • Malcolm Reynolds

            I know huh! Totally fits.

          • Alwaystomorrow

Next time try to incorporate “Moron” also. It has a nice ring to it. 😉

          • Malcolm Reynolds

I’ll do my best. Something like this:
Only a moron like you would agree with this author’s actual position, and then lie about what he isn’t saying so you can mock him.
            How’s that?
I’m sure I can paste that under every one of your idiotic little countdown posts.

          • Alwaystomorrow

I will give you the opportunity soon.

          • victor

          • Malcolm Reynolds

            Semper Fi!

      • victor

Correct. People had the chance to be on the ark, they chose not to.
Then the Lord shut him in. Genesis 7:16

        • Plextt .

Santa is going to skip your house this year. Feeble 1: 61

          • victor

That’s ok, after the crash, I wouldn’t be able to leave him cookies out. I will need them for myself!!!
So now I won’t feel so bad about him not coming…thanks for the laugh… lol

      • GoldenGirl

        Very well stated!

      • Alwaystomorrow

Noah warnings were not based on current or forecast weather conditions, dark clouds, strong wind, hail, history or anything of that nature.

If he had done an observation of all current conditions he would not have built an ark and warned the people.

Even though all visible and observed conditions pointed to NO RAIN, it flooded.

So again, the observed conditions do not tell the future.

His warning came from God and God alone, not observed conditions or something he read.

        • Gay Veteran

          you find that ark yet?

          • victor

Do You believe Jesus loves You???
            Just wondering.
As a vet myself, Marine Corps,83-87 I respect You for the time You served.
            What branch?

          • Gay Veteran

respect? we were mere cogs in the imperial war machine

          • guest

He was in the morale division stationed in san francisco. As a result of his ‘service’, he now must wear depends as he has lost bowel control.
He did get a purple heart though.

        • victor

The righteous shall live by faith.
          Simple as that.
You either believe Jesus sacrificed His life for You, or You don’t.
I love Hebrews 11:1-39 whole chapter.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
          Heb. 11:1

      • Malcolm Reynolds

That’s the thing. That imbecile AGREES with this author’s actual writing.
Alwaystomorrow is mocking Mike because he said this author is telling us the entire system is going to shut down and we’re going back to the stone age.
Perhaps you can find for me where this author says that, because that liar AT wont get it for me.

      • Gay Veteran

        find that ark yet?

    • Prepper1

Count downs are fine in my book, better to be prepared than not I always say! I do believe our economy will have a crash in the next few months but I also believe that it will take 3-8 months to start sinking in where it will start affecting us commoners. When you start seeing mass lay offs , seeing forclosers ramping up again more riots starting up every big city , then you want to seriously begin to think it’s getting close to a collapse in the country. Will be getting close for bug out time if you have a location. Yes God does provide but also he said to prepare ! So you have to do a lot for yourself also ! Just saying folks. God bless you all be safe an pray it’s not a total collapse of a year

      • victor

I feel the same way. It will progressively get worse.

    • loadnup

Yes, and judging by what is happening in china and our own market of recent vintage, i’d say your forecast is right on the money…. not that I in any way want the collapse to happen it is just at this point there is nothing I can do to stop the overall big dump so i’m doing the best I can with what little I/we have to avoid as much pain as possible… I was going to say “later” but right now there is one heck of a lot of pain going on all around and within. Pray, prep and protect ’cause hell pounding down the door….

  • Guest

I have no money in stocks, so I’m not at all concerned about a stock market crash. I just want the suppression of gold and silver prices (on the COMEX) to end so that we can have true price discovery. I could then quit my job. I’m overworked, underpaid and certainly underappreciated. I’m utterly exhausted right now. I’m so exhausted that I can’t sleep. I know that sounds contradictory, but it’s true. I feel like Christian Bale in the movie The Machinist.

    • aldownunder

I too have very little invested in stocks but have invested in physical gold and silver. I look forward to the manipulation of PM’s to stop but until then it’s a perfect buying opportunity. I also have a good supply of food and other essentials for when it really hits

      • Jamaris

I stocked up on Hi-C orange and Pork Rinds.
I know that the shelf life is very long and besides it’s a great combination taste. I’m ready for the collapse.

        • Alwaystomorrow

Is Tang a good substitute for Hi-C?

  • Mike Smithy

Did anyone happen to hear the story line coming out of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis? They finally admitted that the $4.5 trillion dollar Keynesian QE boondoggle was a huge mistake.

    • df NJ

We need to take away the Feds authority over our money supply and bring back the Lincoln Greenback.

      • Harbinger

The Federal Reserve is not federal and it does not have any reserves.

        • Ponziconomy

Its a satanic babylonian masonic cult.

  • Katusov

Just the fact that so many are discussing a fall crash in the markets may mean it won’t happen. The elites manipulate the indexes via proxy purchases using money they can create out of thin air. It will crash when they want it to crash. If you have insider information and see the likes of JPM or Goldman Sachs building short positions, its time to head for the hills. The only way the elites could be caught off guard is if something totally unexpected happens, a “Black Swan” event. With all the stuff going on in the world today, it is likely, but unpredictable.

    • df NJ

Gasoline below $2.00 gallon will stop the crash.

      • Mike Smithy

WTI dropped to $40 a barrel today and yet the price at the pump went up at my local gas station. The fix is in, and it has nothing to do with supply and demand. What makes you think gas is going to go below $2.00 a gallon?

  • Mybal zich

Withdraw your 401k before its gone.

    • Liberty First

I put mine all in cash and gold. We will see. Figure at worst I can always get back in when the time is right. But my guess is we will be very happy to be out of the stock market for the time being.

      • Mybal zich

I never started one so I have nothing to lose at this point.

  • Tired

I just wish I had been so awake earlier in my life. We have done most all we can to prepare- I am still amazed at the number of young people that say “I don”t watch the news” and want to know. We have allowed the greed of others to sell our children”s and grandchildren”s future. I was shocked during Katrina/ Rita hurricanes when we overwhelmed with refugees. There are so many factors coming together at one time I am amazed. Pray, Prep, and get a lawn chair for the show. I see the faces of children in distress and chaos. Not a kind thought or vision. I will pray for this nation and its people. I send blessings to all who cross this site.

    • df NJ

We must have faith in God and Jesus will not forsake our country to economic collapse, death, and suffering.

      • G21

Jesus never forsook anything, but he does open the scroll of the Beginning of Sorrows (Rev 5, 6), which allows the end times to begin in which 1/4 of earth’s population dies.

        • Mike Smithy

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Of all the scripture that comes to mind, perhaps the saddest and most fearful of all is the very words of Jesus Himself found in Matthew 7 and verse 21 – 23. Here, Jesus tells us that at the second coming, there will be some people who will fully expect to ascend to heaven with Him in the clouds of glory, but He will have to tell them; “….depart from Me, I never knew you.”

Make no mistake about it; there will be people on the Day of Judgment that are going to be expecting to go to heaven, yet instead of inheriting the Kingdom, they are going to hear those saddening words of Christ;“Depart from Me, I never knew you.” There will be deacons, deaconesses, Sabbath school teachers, Elders, Pastors, TV evangelists, miracle workers along with countless others (ie. all church people!)that will be turned away–and all because they lacked one very necessary qualification; they didn’t truly know the Lord and so He will be forced to say to them, “…depart from Me, for I never knew you.”

The people Jesus will say He “never knew” will be those who never felt the need to truly “know Him” yet these are people who “think” they are going to heaven!

          • victor

His Blood Covers Us, if we accepted His sacrifice, and walk with Him in faith.
            You speak truth, good reminder.

      • Harbinger

God will never forsake those who humble themselves before Him. I don’t see that happening for the majority of people until that’s their last choice and even then some will still not choose.

        • victor

          I totally agree.

      • victor

What makes You think that way?
Even Israel got punished for disobedience, till they repented and cried out to the Lord?
        Is some how America exempt?
Did the Christians beheaded by ISIS, were they forsaken by the Lord?
Just what I get from your post, after reading it a few times.

        • GoldenGirl

I agree, Victor. It is not God forsaking us, it is we who are forsaking Him. America is not exempt. Will something happen this fall? Maybe, maybe not. Even those who do not share this faith point to a sovereign debt crisis sooner rather than later, with the turning point being around October 1. Everything is cyclical, even in God’s system. Judgment can come in any form, whether it be an economic collapse, natural disasters or attack on our soil. There really is no peace outside of God, and no fear with Him. And I might add, it is never unwise to be prepared for any sort of interruption in our way of life. It is just common sense.

          • victor

I really don’t know if there is judgment at this time, know there will be later, Great White Throne.
I know He will not bless disobedience, and there is consequence for sin.
Honestly I was thinking about this two days ago.
He can take His hand off our protection?
I liked your response, and the point, everything is cyclical.
Martin Armstrong points that out, and makes sense to me.

          • GoldenGirl

I think He can take His hand of protection away from us, at His time, and no one can predict when or if that will be, as you state. The Great White Throne will be the final judgment, and I am so grateful I will be safe from that. Martin Armstrong’s analysis and work make a lot of sense to me, too. He has taught me a lot. So glad to read that you read his work, too.

          • Ca. Girl – LOVE THE USA !

HI Victor, Time is nearing, I can feel it, and it draws me closer to God in ways I can’t explain. even in faith stock up on food.

      • loadnup

Ah, don’t know where you have been since the “it’s just fine to do abortions” and now with the Supremes okaying gay everything, not to even mention harvesting children both alive and dead and just for kicks thrown in the liars, fornicators and out right perverts in dc and I guarantee you if God does not judge this country with a rather large hammer, which will bring about “economic collapse, death, and suffering” then He owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology… no, df NJ, you’d better buckle up ’cause this rodeo isn’t about to start, it’s already underway….. pray, prep and protect.

  • Bill

When stores start announcing a shortage of running shoes you will know most have left (run) for the hills as the rout is on!!!

  • Bill

I don’t usually gather the apple drops in my back yard but plan to this year. They make great applesauce that’s easy to can and stores great.

wow, we are truly living in interesting times

  • df NJ

I work in Jersey City across from New York City. Everyday there’s tons of cars on the roads. Construction everywhere. Grocery stores packed with customers and food. Gasoline prices dropping. Don’t get me wrong, things generally suk. But it may be another 20 or 30 years skipping along the bottom before we have total economic collapse is all I am saying.

I have been trying to prep and I barely make enough to pay bills so I am not ready at all. My faith is placed in the Lord at this point in which my faith has always been. Its gonna be a tough ride guys. For those who feel they are not ready, you’re not alone. Seek the Lord. He will take care of you.

    • df NJ

Faith in an omnipotent God is easy how can you lose. Faith in your fellow man and the people around you is what takes serious faith. As a country we survived the 1930’s depression we will survive this one. I have absolute faith that people will continue to copulate no matter what happens.

      • victor

Times are different, now from then.
Did they loot back then? Riot?

        • … they still copulate though 🙂

          • stev

Yep, confirmed… copulation rates have gone through the roof!!!

          • victor

            Especially in Ferguson.

          • advocate

And sometimes with people of the opposite sex.

    • KirstyJason Menard

I too feel as though I am not ready. But are we truly ever ready? I suppose not. I am afraid. I mentioned this on another post. I fear for my family and my children. This is not a good time to be living in the USA.

      • Martha55

60″ flats screen TV purchases are not considered to be good preps if you are scared. You know what I mean?

        • KirstyJason Menard

It’s funny you mention that. We won a 60 inch tv ina contest through our Chevy dealership. We would absolutely never but something like that!

          • Evil_shadow

you could still sell it and buy bulk food(rice, pasta, vegetable oil, salt, flour etc.). I did it, and i’m happy that i did.for that money(in my country) i could bought for allmost entire year of dryed food(bean, corn, grain, cooking oil, salt and sugar). It wasnt enough for living, but it was for free:D.

      • victor

Have You started to buy at least some canned goods?
I just did today while they were on sale, chef Boyardee, 79 cents. I’m going to buy some chilli with beans, pinto beans, canned vegetables. Other canned stuff, spam, fruit cocktail, peaches. I ‘m planning 2 months.
        It’s only myself and son.
Faith is most important, because we will leave for eternity, with Jesus or without.
        It’s a free will choice.
        Hope we can talk more.

        • Ca. Girl – LOVE THE USA !

Walmart has peas, corn and green beans 47 per can so you can get 100 cans for $47 bucks, stock up folks, it’s best deal in town , and you need to be prepared,

          • victor

Thanks, will have to get some.
Haven’t seen You on here for some time.
            Will message You soon.

20# bags rice and beans at Costco.

        • Evil_shadow

you need more sustainable source of food.cans are good “get to”, but in case of long term SHTF you need your own source of food.Hydro and aquaponics arent hard as long as you stay on personal/family level.raising chickens or even better ducks inst that hard either. You could try rabbits, squirells or any small “vermins”.if you dont fin it disgusting, try mealworms.Yes, WORMS.looks FUGLY, but they are full of proteins.Other sollution would be vertical gardening(if you dont have a lot of free space for growing food) or algae cultivation. Not best food, but sustainable source of food and (more or less) easy to grow.

      • j2ashes

it is not just the U.S.A, the whole world is now like this! every place is ruled by a bunch of absolute maniacs and this is a fact everybody can see. you cannot trust anything or anyone anymore. they destroyed everything and made the whole world a crooked place. be patient and complacent for the authentic messiah is almost here already. god will obliterate all the evildoers and filthy ones and that will be their end. this is the time and in the end, everything will be all good. the world will be cleansed and organized like it should be.

soon there will be a big and deadly war that will destroy 2/3rds of the world. it will also be a spiritual war. until then, you will have to prepare for the very worst. do not live in big cities, better live in lowly populated zones, fortify yourself, get closer to god, repent, store food and fortification, work together with the good people, etc etc etc… and we will all get through it all happily.

        • j2ashes

one more thing, do not try to fight them and their armies, you cannot win like that. you cannot take an ak-47 and start shooting at them and their planes. they are too powerful already and also very drunk. they have all the deadliest weapons alive and are ready to just kill. stay away from them at all costs (that is when the time comes) only trust in god.

          • Mike Smithy

Balderdash. Guerilla tactics have always been successful. Afghanistan has never been defeated using these tactics. Never forget, he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day.

Viet Nam…. those Nathan victors were pros at it and we learned a lot. It comes down to not being worried about whether or not you live or die but whether you live full and if you have to die, die bringing someone or thing to justice, justice as defined by the Creator.

well i havent seen any of so called”gods” prevent Israelis from bombing palestinians.Or any other army against other nation or army.God wont save you except if you want to left earth sooner than it was meant to…

        • Nemnor

j2ashes, I agree with some of what you stated (above).

However, the bad socioeconomic conditions we are observing the world over, are all essentially SYMPTOMS of decadent and decaying world-wide Capitalist economic system.

From my observation, facing decadent Capitalism mainly from a “religious” standpoint (i.e. waiting on God to obliterate the evildoers and/or basically waiting on what is said to be the return of Christ), often leads to a “dead end”, decades after decades – as no real action is taken against the evildoers (and certainly no action is taken to dismantle Capitalism, since many are brainwashed into believing that “Capitalism isn’t the problem”, while they hold in their heads an illusion about “free market” Capitalism, and a bunch of misinformation and half-truths on what genuine “Socialism” might be. And though, for the past 500 years or so, Capitalism (“free market” or not) had always been at the very root of ALL the major socioeconomic issues facing the USA and the World).

          • mike

You are brainwashed idiot. It is government intervention and crony capitalism brought on by government intervention, and the Federal Reserve enacted in 1913 that has brought everything to the hell that it is. Do corporations and banks take advantage? Yes, they do, but it is GOVERNMENT that enables them.

You don’t even know what capitalism is idiot. Capitalism is the process of taking luxury items and making them available in abundant amounts for cheap. Think cell phones, computers, tv’s.

The thing you are thinking about that has caused everything to go downhill is crony capitalism, socialism, and government intervention in the marketplace.

      • JulietteofOhio

We’ve been getting ready for several years, but I don’t feel as if we’re prepared, either. Try to get some protein-heavy canned goods, a BIG can or more of peanut butter, and plant a small garden if you have room. Also vitamins, for the kids, primarily, and lots of Vitamin C. I don’t know how long a down-turn will last, but you try to make as long as possible. Blessings!

        • God bless from SW ohio, and good luck

        • loadnup

You hit the nail on the head with the vitamins. You can get them now so do. One word on them. Some of the cheaper vitamins have the nutritional value but the coating on them does not dissolve in the stomach and will pass right through without any benefit to the individual, child or adult. Just break them in half so the nutrients get absorbed into the system via the food of whatever type. The dollar store has vitamins that, yes, are quite generic but they are still vitamins. Just remember to break/cut them in half. (LOL just remembered using knife and mallet on one such years ago…_)

          • JulietteofOhio

Good point! I bought powdered “C” for the kids which doesn’t taste any worse than cough syrup. Trying to survive after TSHTF is tough, but it’s even tougher with scurvy. Thanks!

Might not be what we want, but He will supply our needs, and sustain us.
Might not always be rib eye steak, which I like, could be hamburger or bologna, baloney, lunch meat, just examples.

    • Matt M

Seek the Lord! That is the only truth we will ever have.

Here’s some tips to help you prep on the absolute minimal budget. Based on my research, I can tell you this much:

Rice and beans and olive oil and vitamins are pretty much ALL that are necessary to at least survive for food.
It’s cheap now, get as much as possible. (look for bulk purchases of rice)
Anything else you add is a bonus. Stock up and rotate peanut butter, ramen, crackers, salt, pepper and sugar if you can.
I can honestly say I’ve never only lived on this diet, but it could prevent starvation.

Get a cheap water filtering device at Walmart’s sports section. Always keep a new gallon of bleach on hand and print out a guide from the internet how to disinfect water using bleach for a particular quantity. Get some containers (even used jugs that are cleaned out with bleach water) to collect water.

-If possible, get a method to keep warm during the winters (at least a -0 sleeping bag for each family member if possible).

-Try to stock up on rotate items such as soap, toilet paper, feminine hygiene items and any medicine possible.

-If possible, get a shotgun for self defense, with some 00 buckshot.

You may already know all of this… But this is at least a possible way that you can prep on a very short budge.

      God bless.

Matt thank you very much for taking the time to write this out! This is really helpful I will hold on to this and use it as a great catch up! God bless you!

        • Matt M

I just edited it. If you buy extra olive oil, make sure to buy it in plastic containers and freeze the extra bottles (standing up in the freezer). I do this myself, and it stays good for a very long time this way and none will leak out when the container expands if it is standing up.

        • DW

Honey from Costco is a good option too. It never spoils.

          • local honey. the big box sore stuff is pasteurized, removing most of the good stuff.

          • Evil_shadow

i’d say its more sugar than honey. As you have said;buy Local from guys you know or others know that they are reliable.that way you can set up “trade” in case of TSHTF; you give them something they dont have, and you get honey as repayment.

      • victor

        First sentence nails it.
        Thanks for info

      • its coming

I’ve been preparing for years. I am comfortable for most of my direct family and I’m trying to tell the rest to prepare for themselves. I can’t possibly help everyone when it goes down.

        • Matt M

That is really all that anyone can ask..
All I ask is that you prep for yet another, if you can… If not, God bless you and yours.
This may be very bad for many people.

        • Evil_shadow

you cant and neither you are responsible for them.but unllike you, others will EXPECT that you(as “prepper”) will take care for their basic needs.Afterall, you have stuff and they dont….That could led down to some nasty situations and horrific decisions.

      • brett decker

do not use OO buckshot, it will carry through the walls an hurt other people, For interior defensive use, loads like Winchester’s AA Trap and Skeet™
are an excellent choice. Loaded with approximately an ounce of #7 ½, #8
or #9 shot, patterns are tight with less potential for serious damage
        from missed shots.

    • Charissa

I was praying for guidance on what to do with decisions on my 410k a few days ago and had a clear, strong thought…”I am your Provider”. I know it was God. You are exactly right; He will take care of us.

      • DW

My 401K is tied to the stock market. I can only access it if I quit my job…..I resigned to the fact that I will probably never see that money.

        • Charissa

Call your 410k investment co and tell them you want to move your money into the lowest risk fund on your plan, such as a money market fund. They should have at least one options that will keep you relatively safe. My gut feeling is to have several months supply of food and water.

          • victor

You’re right, I did the same thing, You can even do it on computer, if You set up your account.

        • terri

Take out a loan on your 401k. I believe you can take out 80%. You will have to pay it back w/ interest. But you only pay monthly and the interest goes to you. If the payments get too costly, just pay it back w/ some of the money you took out from the 401 K. If the financial system collapses, the 401k’s will collapse and you probably won’t have to pay it back. This way you not only get control of the money you put into it, but you can now access the money your employer put into it. Also, there are specifications for a loan. In my day, there were only 3 reasons they would let you take out a loan: hardship, buying a home, and I forget what the 3rd one was. So, ask your HR person what the conditions are for taking out a loan. Then figure what you can afford to pay back on a monthly basis. I really believe the 401k’s are going down, and you won’t have to pay back anything when the collapse happens. JMHO Good luck!!

          • Stang

Thank you for this, I’ve been kicking this idea around for some time now but nobody talks about this idea. i think it is the only good option of protecting your money.

        • victor

You should be able to change it to a different fund. You won’t make much money, but You won’t lose it either when things totally fall.
I can tell You more, I just changed mine, and like You, God is my provider.

    • G21

That would be before the credit crisis and QE, wouldn’t it?

  • Nick Tubber

C’mon now. Nothings really “crashing”, ok? Just a few years ago Dow was below 15000 and you call 17000 level a collapse? We are just even this year, not even a loss. It’s way too early to make anything out of anything. Give me a break.

    • df NJ

No collapse unless we are seeing one or two riots per month in major cities. In Jersey City and NYC commerce is very brisk where I work. I don’t see any collapse in site.

    • G21

Yes, you should ignore all the other countries whose stock markets are collapsing at this very minute, the upheaval in currency values, the collapse in commodity prices, the huge unemployment problem, the hundreds of trillions in debt/liabilities, wages shrinking, etc, etc, etc.
      Everything’s ok.

      • Nick Tubber

Well its been like that for many years. You blame me?

        • G21

No, but you did say “nothing’s crashing”, didn’t you? So just keep ignoring all the things that are crashing and you’ll be fine.

    • Mike Smithy

The artificial levitation of stawks is completely disconnected from the economic realities of Main Street. There is abundant evidence that the economic conditions of Main Street is in collapse.

      • Nick Tubber

Sure no one disputes your points. But the writer is saying everything around us is collapsing right in front of our eyes right now. Really.

        • sre

You’re absolutely correct. We can only live one day at a time. Why get all excited about some (indefinite) future? We have enough trouble right now.

    • Craig Fetter

Get your head out of the sand before its too light. The GLOBAL economy is literally like a house made of cards. It will go FLAT overnight. And if you must know, the reason why it will definitely happen is because it is an elaborate plan to bring in the new world order aka Sustainable development agenda.

    • j2ashes

the stock market is just a cover-up; it is all based on as-if (make believe). it has nothing to do with reality and reality if very very horrifying. they add and reduce numbers to the chart sort of like derivatives and get people started-up. it was obviously all planned this way and the people ruling america (like the rest of the world) are really not smart. soon the dollar will be worthless.

  • GetReal4U2

sadly most still doubt what’s coming…September approaches quickly…

    • KirstyJason Menard

There are going to be so many people who are unprepared for what is about to take place. I truly believe that we’re going to see a collapse that’s going to be worse than even the depression. And all of those unprepared people are going to panic when they realize we were right. There are going to be thousands of angry starving people fighting each other for supplies. If it’s anything like Greece then it will be an extremely bumpy ride

  • Harbinger

We are going to see and experience things in the next few months that have never happened in this country before. That is the absolute truth not the relative truth. In other words the truth will not change to fit the circumstances. “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance May deride it, but in the end there it is.” (Winston Churchill)

    • Nick Tubber

How can you be so sure about the future? Thats rather dangerous

      • Harbinger

Simple put, I have learned to listen and not ignore what I hear. I don’t know the future or how things will unfold I just know that you cannot ignore the writing on the wall under the premise that this is America and it couldn’t happen here.

        • willkes

What is going to happen, and be specific please ?

          • Harbinger

Luke 21:25-26: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity and anguish at the roaring and tossing of the sea and the waves; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.” I don’t pretend to be the answer man for anyone but I know that the character of God never changes. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of Him is understanding. Sometimes you must lose sight in order to see, only then can you understand what is happening all around us.

          • willkes

Not really what I was asking. What is going to happen, not why and who you think is going to rain misery on us… What is going to happen ? Say the stock market crashes, well, most people aren’t in the market and it’s hard to get them to care when they have nothing invested there. How are all these things that are maybe, might, probably going to happen going to affect the general public ?

          • Genada

The market is not going to crash, it’s going to go parabolic higher.

It’s QE4 next then hyper inflation.

          • Craig Fetter

The dollar will soon have literally no value. You will be unable to purchase anything with it.
Its coming soon. And it is PLANNED

          • K

As far as the market goes. It dumps too far companies go out. People working there lose their jobs. More jobs lost more support companies go out. People lose those jobs. Now resteraunts lose enough business, they go under. More jobs lost. Finally places that rely on tourism, start closing up. Even more jobs lost. That is how everyone is affected by the market.

          • victor

they might not be “in stocks,” but many 401 K plans. Enron, comes to mind.
How much was lost and wiped out.

          • willkes

Yeah i get all that. I just don’t think this is going to stay this way forever, or not nearly as long as the consensus seems to be around here. For one thing we will get a new president soon, that will help. And for a second, we are a very resilient people in this country, we actually do know how to come together and get things done, I know it seems all doomy and gloomy right now, but that will change in a big hurry when the time comes… It always does.

          • victor

We have never been in this much debt.
Jobs still seem to be a problem. Can they create them to put people to work, half way decent paying jobs, and not this part time stuff.

          • willkes

Yeah, but I do think that when we get a new president some of that will work itself out. I can hardly wait until this one is gone.

          • RedPillPlease

Personally, it is my belief that God is responsible for keeping our financial system afloat, and I can’t help but think His patience is wearing thin.

      • Drud

You can’t. Period. But think of it this way:

It’s 1999 and you have been hearing about Y2K for months if not years. Everything electronic may break down at the New Year.

It’s 2005. You live bellow the dykes in New Orleans and you are told Katrina is coming…weatherman have been wrong before, plenty of times.

        How do you prepare???

There is risk any way you look at it…plenty of people spent fortunes preparing for Y2K and later, broke had to sell off their “preps” just to keep going. Also, plenty of people ignored warnings of Katrina and either ended up dead or in hell for a while.

Personally, I believe the whole US economy is living in the flood plane below the dykes (metaphorically speaking of course) and a storm is approaching. Will the dykes hold up? In other words, will it be like 2001 or 2008…or will it be like the USSR circa 1989-92 only magnified because of cultural and structural differences?

I have no idea exactly how this will play out. But it is only wise to prepare as best you can for EITHER path and then enjoy today.

  • Chuck

There are religious and secular events coming in sept. Yom Kippur and rosh hashanna. Pope to address UN. France to propose Palestinian state. Christian prophecy people saying Rapture could occur more likely than ever. We don’t know for sure. This will usher in the dreaded Tribulation. Just get right with Lord beforehand. Do it anyway. Army invasion of west will end. Jade helm. Get ready for martial law. Maybe. Israel to bomb Iran. My opinion. U can only go on so long against these threats. I think someone is planning all this. Satan is his name

    • Nick Tubber

I m sorry. Can someone educate me on why Pope’s visit is something ominous?

      • David

It is not something it is UN. It All depends what Pope is going to say about their proposition how to save the world. IF i remeber corectly it is called Agenda21.

  • Mr. Wolf

There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, “Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!”

The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf
away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf.
The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

“Don’t cry ‘wolf’, shepherd boy,” said the villagers, “when there’s no wolf!” They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, “Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the
sheep!” To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the
hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, “Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don’t cry ‘wolf’ when there is NO wolf!”

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.

Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, “Wolf! Wolf!”

But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn’t come.

Why people keep insisting that nothing is going to happen?????This is optimism and irresponsability at the extreme….All major countries have debts that is impossible to repay….how in the hell we are going to fix that????? This is far different from the great depression in the 30s…But to many people if their TVs and ipads and the stupid facebooks work and there s gasoline to the car its all ok:) There must be a cure for blindness to these people……this is incredible

Most people are aware that Americans have a raw deal when it comes to
maternity leave. Perhaps they’ve heard about Sweden, with its
drool-inducing 16 months of paid parental leave, or Finland, where,
after about 9 months of paid leave, the mother or father can take—or
split—additional paid “child care leave” until the child’s third

But most Americans don’t realize quite how out of step we are. It’s
not just wealthy, social democratic Nordic countries that make us look
bad. With the exception of a few small countries like Papua New Guinea
and Suriname, every other nation in the world—rich or poor—now requires
    paid maternity leave.

The reason we do not have the above is conservatives plain and simple.

Actually, I think it’s the Nordic countries that look bad. Socialism has brought us to the brink of economic collapse. Wealth redistribution from the earners/producers to the lazy/unproductive is wrong, period.

As Lady Thatcher famously said, “The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

She was right. We ran out long ago.

Anybody that lives near water should have fishing gear and know how to catch fish. I see a lot more emphasis on hunting, which is fine but I think fishing is a more realistic option for most.

It is pretty easy to get a couple of fishing poles and a tackle box together-even if you live in a city you can still get carp, catfish which are very good eating if prepared properly.

  • The moral of the story is that people shout so much about an economic crash in the past which never happen that, now there is one in front of them, they simply don’t believe it and think it is one of those usual “the wolf is there, the wolf is there!” and they will not see a wolf at all…

In this case, those who cried “wolf, wolf” in the past are all of those who predicted the end of the world – economically, socially, etc – in the past years (like the Mayan Calendar folly for instance).

Now, even if true experts will come and announce the same kind of coming disasters, with all facts and number to support it, people will not believe them… There is another name for those kind of people : Cassandra (Cursed by the gods, she was bound to always say the truth, but never to be believed by anyone… and Troy fell)

  • dawid

I heard yesterday an repeating voice in my mind “time is close” “time is close” i keept questioning to what but didn’t hear an answer

  • itscoming

    China stocks just dumped again.

  • Priszilla

Sorry guys, nobody around here is freaking out about it. Stock market is a casino. Let people play poker all they want. In the meantime get on living. You only have one life, live it.
It’s not those at the top or in the casinos who keep the economy rolling. It’s those at the bottom who work every day and buy food and put their savings into home and garden.

  • alan

So what if everyone believed there is going to be collapse. Then TPTB took measures to ensure it doesn’t happen. Now everyone that yelled wolf slowly fade away just before the fingers start pointing.
If we’re in a paper based system then simply generate more paper. If its debt then create more. The clowns in charge for the most part don’t care if the national debt is 18 trillion or 180 trillion. They only want to be sure they get paid.
If someone says look we need to print or all of our 401k’s will be gone, I am sure everyone would say print. Or if the banks are going to go under, who’s going to have money to feed little Timmy, ok bail out the banks. Remember its the politicians that make the decisions for us and they want to get paid too.

I agree we are going under eventually, I just think there is still plenty of shenanigans left to be played. Unless…..some crazy event happens outside their control.

  • Annette Smith

Michael, I have wondered who else there is that writes like you, and I can’t think of anybody. Keep up the good work. I send links to your articles to all my friends. The best thing is, they read them!

    • alan

Check out Zerohedge, it has some good stories on there. I do like this site though being on a smaller scale. Need someone to put together a map of senerios on how this may all play out.

      • Mike Smithy

Yes. X22 Report has great perspectives as well.

  • J.C

I see, so the reason why this crash is significant is because once it happens there is no recovery? If the answer is no, whats the difference to the previous crashes? There are also many news articles about the Fed wanting to raise interest rates and the strong US economy, are they lying and why prolong the agony.

  • Truth Be Told

If you want to know exactly what is fixing to play out in America, simply read the book of Jeremiah. Prophecies are never old and repeat themselves time and time again throughout history. When reading Jeremiah, simply replace Israel, Jerusalem and Judah with the word America. You will be blown away. The words of the prophets are alive today in our time like never before. Prophecies always fulfill themselves many times. You can do the same for the book of Isaiah. That is what Jonathan Cahn did with the Harbinger. Replace Israel with America, and you will be shocked how much of what is said has already happened, including the harbingers of Isaiah 9. Brothers, we are headed for trouble and their is no way out.

    • RedPillPlease

In 2nd Timothy, we are told that “all” scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine. Given that 1/3 of the Bible is prophecy, only a foolish man would ignore what has been written.

An excellent book I’ve found pertaining to America is: “The Final Babylon: America and the Coming of AntiChrist” by Woodward, McGriff & Krieger (over 100 years experience in global related fields). They predict that our financial and military power will remain intact until the Man of Sin is revealed and takes his appointed authority.

    • victor

      I agree.
There will be a shaking of the tree.
We must always remember, everything is centered around Israel, now and in the later times.
It will be interesting to see what plays out.
I just want it to get started, so we can go on with what will be.

  • Christoph Weise

Swings on the stock market were the norm and not the exception – before 2008. And it was and is naive to assume that the old days are gone forever and that the stocks will only surge and never dump.

  • Verbal Bomb Chucker

My wife and I are small business owners (ie:not even close to rich). We have slowly saved food (rice and beans) and other foods and supplies since January 2009 – Age of Obama. I don’t feel super prepared but I know I’m better prepared than most people.

  • Heinrich van Rooi

The markets around the world is getting ugly right now at this very moment…Check msn money!!!!!!

  • sherlock32555

If you don’t get out then don’t cry when you lose it all. You were warned !

  • DW

Even if your house is paid off (and I doubt most of us have paid it off) and you have some cash for propery taxes, etc, if you have 1000’s rounds of ammo and food stored up….it’s going to suck! It will suck worse for those of us who still have a mortgage and those who have meds they need to take…..your house, ability to buy meds, gas, food, etc will dissapear when your job is lost.

If it was just me to worry about, I would be fine surviving in the wilderness….it would suck, but I probably survive.

  • Estaphulous

Store atleast 6 months worth of food, water, portable radios, batteries, and prescription medicines and keep a shot gun and ammo readily available. Buy atleast 20 K worth of gold coins and keep in your bank’s safety deposit box.

    • GoldenGirl

It is illegal to keep gold in your bank safety deposit box. All other information is good.

  • Barry Goldwater

The Central Bank debt bomb is exploding as we speak.
I think by the end of the 19 weeks left in the year that we certainly will see a stock market that has eroded several Trillion Dollars in paper value. Paper is the key word to remember. Money invested in stock is just paper and can disappear in a second. The market is filled with investors who drank the Kool Aid and really believed that the Federal Reserve working in concert with Wall Street had finally figured out a way to sustain the market to infinity, therefore no downside to worry about. What sheer utter foolishness that is ! Now, those investors who have not already figured out the ugly truth will face annihilation in the days ahead.
Printing paper at the Fed to funnel into Wall Street Banks to purchase more paper was never a workable solution to our failing economy and has created yet another bubble which is now reaching meltdown stage.
Take action while you still have a little time !

  • DB200

“So enjoy what is left of August.”

Yep, nice weather, 28 degrees Celsius so I am sitting outside now with a glass of wine. Couldn’t be better. Cheers to that!

  • Mondobeyondo

The question is not if, but when. A U.S. stock market collapse is inevitable. The fall of 2015 is looking very probable. A lot of huge stock market collapses have happened in September and October. The crash of 1929 was in late October. Soooo…

As the Beatles would say, “A splendid time is guaranteed for all”…

  • tarsha

When will social security, food stamps, and all those programs become extinct due to this collapse?

    • ThePleiades

They will and that’s the problemo. People are going to be really pissed off who have been on the govt nipple for 7 years and they are coming after us.

  • SunnyFlaSnotress

I taught myself to shoot and got a gun.. that was a biggie, but contrary to all suggested, I am looking to buy a house soon in the big city (oh, I hope my car gets fixed good quickly). I’m just not that worried, ..honest.. but I will plant, store, when I get there, and even sooner, get a concealed weapon permit.
I would do these things anyways.

    • Alwaystomorrow

I am sure you know but flood zone and storm surge zone maps are super important especially if near the coast.

      • SunnyFlaSnotress

        Looks good..just checked.. Thanks! 🙂

        • Alwaystomorrow

          Good and your welcome.

  • Itanimullikcuf

Dow Jones today collapsed 358 points or 2.1% and it’s below 17 000 mark. Shanghai Chinese stock 3.5% down. European stocks average 2% down.

  • G21

Right now, Mr. Alwaystomorrow is frantically searching for a reason to keep mocking Michael’s warnings.

    • Alwaystomorrow

No. Actually I am looking at maps of the Naples Florida area to see if there are some new beaches for my wife and I to go to in December / January.

Tigertail beach in Marco Island looks nice.

  • A Government of Traitors

I’ve been prepping since 2007. People have said all along that I am nuts. I believe that after September 13, 2015, they will be screaming to get on the ark. Sorry folks, the door has been closed and sealed. Get away from the cities, they are going to be beyond dangerous when roving bands of punks are breaking into houses looking for food after they have finished looting the grocery store.
The Democrats and Republicans, along with their puppet masters, have been jointly planning and implementing this for decades. They have known all along what a fraud Keynesian economics is and that the balloon can only hold so much air.

  • FortuneSeek3rz

I still haven’t figured out why the stock market is a fixture of an economic collapse blog. It’s not a litmus indicator of an economy regardless of what it is doing. And you can’t “sell high” if you don’t have an opportunity to “buy low”. There is nothing going on in this market that is terribly different from the last 200 years. It rises and falls, perpetually.

CNBC, BLOOMBERG and Fox Business are al saying nothing to worry about, it’s just a normal cyclical summer event

  • LiberalMenAreEffeminateSHIT

  • James Pollard

Though sceptical at such Doon day predictions surrounding the economy I read this article with intrigue and almost began to belive it had foundation until the writer referenced the daily telegraph as one of the most important papers in the world, at which point it lost all credibility.

  • Colm McCarr

In times like these decent people have to consider becoming criminals in order to survive. There are numerous historical precedents for this proposition.

  • TWF

People are not worried about a stock market crash… they are worried about the Federal Reserve Note crashing and creating hyperinflation.

For the preacher, the problem is sin.
    For the broker, the problem is the stock market dropping;
For the hammer, the problem is the nail.
For the common person, the problem is no work…

  • CharlesH

Today’s (Friday) DROP of 530pts on the DOW sure isn’t going to make anyone warm and fuzzy. People who’s retirements are invested in the stock markets need to be VERY concerned – VERY!

  • ThePleiades

I’m scared to death but that isn’t going to help or stop the downfall.
All I have is my faith bc I sure don’t have much money.
    God bless all of us.

  • Flippah

If it gets to that point you aint surviving sh1e/@t. Nuclear meltdowns everywhere and most likely nuclear war. 500 megaton warheads exploding over every other major metropolitian city. Toast.

  • jcextra

I do believe there will be over 3000 points lost in the DOW before the beginning of November. This will not be a very relaxing time for many as the first beginning of the year was. A number of people who depend on the stock market will be driven to insanity. There have been numerous sources who felt that a stock market sell off would happen. No one is going to be prepared for the devaluation of money all over the globe, but it is leading to a ONE WORLD CURRENCY.. When the one world currency gets put into place over the next 24-36 months all calm will return only for a limited time.

  • Decipherer

In Australia, our main exports of iron ore and coal have tanked. the prices are very depressed. Food exports may help sustain our economy at a reduced level.

Real Estate Prices in Sydney and Melbourne are not sustainable after our Stock Market dives in late October – after the first quarter of earnings downgrade.

I have predicted this calamity since February 2015. It was based on my experience with the Stock Market since 1977.
