11 Signs That The U.S. Economy Is Rapidly Deteriorating Even As The Stock Market Soars

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Dollar Bending - Public DomainWe have seen this story before, and it never ends well.  From mid-March until early May 2008, a vigorous stock market rally convinced many investors that the market turmoil of late 2007 and early 2008 was over and that happy days were ahead for the U.S. economy.  But of course we all know what happened.  It turned out that the market downturns of late 2007 and early 2008 were just “foreshocks” of a much greater crash in late 2008.  The market surge in the spring of 2008 was just a mirage, and it masked rapidly declining economic fundamentals.  Well, the exact same thing is happening right now.  The Dow rose another 222 points on Tuesday, but meanwhile virtually every number that we are getting is just screaming that the overall U.S. economy is steadily falling apart.  So don’t be fooled by a rising stock market.  Just like in the spring of 2008, all of the signs are pointing to an avalanche of bad economic news in the months ahead.  The following are 11 signs that the U.S. economy is rapidly deteriorating…

#1 Total business sales have been declining for nearly two years, and they are now about 15 percent lower than they were in late 2014.

#2 The inventory to sales ratio is now back to near where it was during the depths of the last recession.  This means that there is lots and lots of unsold stuff just sitting around out there, and that is a sign of a very unhealthy economy.

#3 Corporate earnings have declined for four consecutive quarters.  This never happens outside of a recession.

#4 Profits for companies listed on the S&P 500 were down 7.1 percent during the first quarter of 2016 when compared to the same time period a year ago.

#5 In April, commercial bankruptcies were up 32 percent on a year over year basis, and Chapter 11 filings were up 67 percent on a year over year basis.  This is exactly the kind of spike that we witnessed during the initial stages of the last major financial crisis as well.

#6 U.S. rail traffic was 11 percent lower last month than it was during the same month in 2015.  Right now there are 292 Union Pacific engines sitting idle in the middle of the Arizona desert because there is literally nothing for them to do.

#7 The U.S. economy has lost an astounding 191,000 mining jobs since September 2014.  For areas of the country that are heavily dependent on mining, this has been absolutely devastating.

#8 According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, U.S. firms announced 35 percent more job cuts during April than they did in March.  This indicates that our employment problems are accelerating.

#9 So far this year, job cut announcements are running 24 percent above the exact same period in 2015.

#10 U.S. GDP grew at just a 0.5 percent annual rate during the first quarter of 2016.  This was the third time in a row that the GDP number has declined compared to the previous quarter, and let us not forget that the formula for calculating GDP was changed last year specifically to make the first quarter of each year look better.  Without that “adjustment”, it is quite possible that we would have had a negative number for the first quarter.

#11 Barack Obama is poised to become the first president in U.S. history to never have a single year during his time in office when the economy grew by more than 3 percent.

But you never hear Obama talk about that statistic, do you?

And the mainstream media loves to point the blame at just about anyone else.  In fact, the Washington Post just came out with an article that is claiming that the big problem with the economy is the fact that U.S. consumers are saving too much money…

The surge in saving is the real drag on the economy. It has many causes. “People got a cruel lesson about [the dangers] of debt,” says economist Matthew Shapiro of the University of Michigan. Households also save more to replace the losses suffered on homes and stocks. But much saving is precautionary: Having once assumed that a financial crisis of the 2008-2009 variety could never happen, people now save to protect themselves against the unknown. Research by economist Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics finds higher saving at all income levels.

So even though half the country is flat broke, I guess we are all supposed to do our patriotic duty by going out and running up huge balances on our credit cards.

What a joke.

Of course the U.S. economy is actually doing significantly better at the moment than almost everywhere else on the planet.  Many areas of South America have already plunged into an economic depression, major banks all over Europe are in the process of completely melting down, Japanese GDP has gone negative again despite all of their emergency measures, and Chinese stocks are down more than 40 percent since the peak of the market.

This is a global economic slowdown, and just like in 2008 it is only a matter of time before the financial markets catch up with reality.  I really like how Andrew Lapthorne put it recently

On the more bearish slant is Andrew Lapthorne, head of quantitative strategy at Societe Generale. To him this profit downturn is a sign that stocks are far too overvalued and the economy is weaker than you think.

“MSCI World EPS is now declining at the fastest pace since 2009, losing 4% in the last couple of months alone (this despite stronger oil prices),” wrote Lapthorne in a note. For the S&P 500 specifically, the year on year drop in profit drop was the most since third quarter of 2009.

“Global earnings are now 14% off the peak set in August 2014 and back to where they stood five years ago. Equity prices on the other hand are 25% higher. Gravity beckons!”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Look, this is not a game.

So far in 2016, three members of my own extended family have lost their jobs.  Businesses are going under at a pace that we haven’t seen since 2008, and this means that more mass layoffs are on the way.

We can certainly be happy that U.S. stocks are doing okay for the moment.  May it stay that way for as long as possible.  But anyone that believes that this state of affairs can last indefinitely is just being delusional.

Gravity beckons, and the crash that is to come is going to be a great sight to behold.

God is in control of all things. Without a doubt his judgment has just begun on this country. Even many so called “Christians” have totally turned their backs on God. You cant turn on the radio or tv without being exposed to filth, and most people are so numb to that filth that they don’t even comprehend it is all around them. Within the “church” the doctrines have gotten so far away from truth to tickle the ears of the people. Why? To build larger congregations and much larger amounts of cash. With over 35,000 different denominations worldwide, each having their own set of doctrines, Who does truth abide in? There can be only one truth and the rest are teaching falseness. It is time for everyone to draw near to Jesus Christ by reading the Bible and much prayer. This MUST be a personal relationship that each one of you does daily, alone with Christ. Don’t get me wrong that there can be good to come from many churches – but they cant save you. Only your individual faith in Jesus can.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

I find it interesting that in 2 posts from you that are only 3 minutes apart one quotes a bible verse “Proverbs 26:4” and in the next post you mention to someone they are “F ed in the head”

Edit: Now I just saw one just below you say “Praise The Lord….Shalome”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

man You really got some good PEYOTE be careful not to set the teepee on fire.

      • ONE WHO KNOWS

It seems like you’re getting hung up on the word God. God and Satan are European words. Those two names never appear in the original Bible. During ancient Times people didn’t have books. They had scrolls. Man has personalized God. No man truly understands or knows God. You must experience God. I think of God as spirit. A spirit whom I experience in real life. For example, a few months ago, I was about to make a left-hand turn into an intersection, but something caused me to hesitate and sit for a split second. In that moments time there was a serious accident. I had every intention of going through that intersection once the light changed and the coast was clear. But something stopped me. It was God.I know that it was God.

    • beezh

Excellent concise comment on faith and churches. There most definitely is a God. He is real. Some folks, such as SunnyFlaSnotress (lovely handle), are unable or unwilling to see or hear anything of God. Some of these people can and do change, if God calls them and they are open enough to answer the call.

What has god got to do with economics? Have all you bible bashes gone full retard from reading the same book endlessly? It has been proven that without stimulation parts of the brain can die off . Not opening your mind to the endless possibilities of our existence has made you all stupid. if I show you a magic trick in front of your very own eyes you would still say it’s just a trick but if I read you 2000 year old book with tricks in it you say that it is the word of God and base your whole life on it. STUPID!

      • Mr. Cipher

“What has god got to do with economics?”

Money is the second most mentioned thing in the Bible. It’s mentioned over 800 times.

        • Lukas Ladd

Wow! That is an interesting fact . So by your rational every time I eat an apple I should expect to have a lengthy lecture about about god the bible and the undoing of human civilization as we know it ? I clearly don’t believe in God any the more than harry potter, so by my rational god and the Bible’s relevance to ANYTHING is 0.

          • Merf56

Huh? That is one of those profoundly stupid things you brainwashed religious groupies keep repeating endlessly that means absolutely zip….

          • GSOB

There is a love that the Lord hates.
            Did you know that?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

God gives us free will to choose ….then we live eternally in that place forever.

With God or not……but if you choose Hell even the demons will be amazed at your choice…..

          • michael malachi

Obviously you are really not as smart as you think that you are. Do some research. The apple myth is a lie made up by the Greeks some 2000+ years ago.
If you don’t believe in oxygen in the air because you cant see it that doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. If you did believe and you explored the Bible and truths in it in a committed way – there is no doubt that you would be amazed.

          • GSOB

You walk in darkness & vanity, enslaved to the hormone and diseased with sin.

The Word will show you that and point you to redemption and peace with God through the blood of Christ.

That is why the Bible has been published more than any other book in history.

Christ is the way, the truth and the life.

I’m a Christian and I approve this message.

          • Lukas Ladd

Do you have any idea what that sounds like to someone that hasn’t received the same brain washing treatment? I’ll give you a hint. ..haha haha haha haha

      • michael malachi

Thank you for your insightful comment. Obviously my message was not directed to you. It was directed to those who believe. (paraphrased) “they have eyes and shall not see and ears but will not hear.” Matthew 13:15, John 12:40, Acts 28:27, Romans 11:8
I do have sorrow for you and the emptiness that you have in your heart. The path that you are on is going to be very disappointing.

        • Merf56

Repeating stuff from a fictional book is silly. Just stop. It makes you look slow-witted.

          • michael malachi

Amazing that you take the time to try to ridicule me. You must not have much of a life. Obviously…
As for a fictional book – Though science has tried time after time, no one can disprove a thing that is written.

          • Merf56

You are too funny!! Go on post some more utter nonsense! Belly laughs are good for the body…..

          • GSOB

God tolerates evil and sin. One day He’ll stop tolerating it. Where will you go then?

          • Merf56

Well since there is no sky guy Your question is moot buddy….

      • ONE WHO KNOWS

What has God got to do with economics? Where do you suppose man got his knowledge from in the first place? God is real. Sadly, man has turned life into a game. God doesn’t play games. Now man will pay the price for toying with God’s Law.

        • Merf56

So what is your proof that your sky guy is ‘real’? Absolute rubbish and fantasy. For the weak minded and vindictive.

          • ONE WHO KNOWS

You think God lives in the sky? God is a word that describes an unknowable spirit. An unexplainable spirit. Most people have been lied to about this great spirit because the powers to be do not want you to know the truth. See, the truth sets you free.

          • michael malachi

wow, unknowable spirit? I sure do know him.

          • ONE WHO KNOWS

Actually you do know God. Now open your heart and let the spirit flow through you. I promise you’ll never be the same ever again.

          • michael malachi

I have had so many miracles happen in my life that God is undeniable to me. I had three discs in my back miraculously healed, I was saved by an angel in a boat accident where death was imminent and now my health insurance policy is through God. When I need healing, I just ask God and I am healed – from just aches and pains to a broken kneecap this past February – I ask God for his promise of healing and it is healed. Doctors have no explanation.
Just because you have not found truth in your life doesn’t mean that truth doesn’t exist.

          • Gay Veteran

know any amputees who had their limbs regrown?
            hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

          • michael malachi

I have not seen that with my own eyes as of yet. But I believe that it has happened and will happen again. In the future – You WIll see with your own eyes, but you still will chose not to believe. Do not doubt that these miracles do happen. Speak to doctors – there are many who know that miracles happen – they see them quite often.

          • Gay Veteran

“I have not seen that with my own eyes as of yet. But I believe that it has happened….”

oh really, got ANY proof of that?

          • michael malachi

just because you can not see something doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. You can not see the wind but you can feel it. You can not see the air but you breath it.
            you need to read Romans.

          • Gay Veteran

but you CAN see a regrown limb.
            where are they?

          • michael malachi

You wouldn’t recognize it if you saw it. I Believe.

          • Gay Veteran

no need for belief IF you can see it.

why does “god’ NEVER answer the prayers of amputees?

          • michael malachi

Are you an amputee? If so my heart goes out to you. The reason that you have not had your miracle is because you do not believe. It takes a strong faith to have a huge miracle happen. Faith that very very few people have today. Everyone wants to see but no one wants to believe. The issue is that FIRST you must believe.

          • Gay Veteran

well I hate to burst your bubble (not really), but NO amputee has ever had their limbs regrown!

            their prayers weren’t answered

            their family’s prayers weren’t answered

their pray circle prayers weren’t answered

            etc.

          • michael malachi

Not entirely true. I have heard of several stories in other countries where people have regrown limbs and the Bible also speaks of a couple of instances. I have been in conversation with people who have seen limbs regrown miraculously. I do believe and there is nothing that you could say that would “burst my bubble”

          • Gay Veteran

shorter version: I have NO direct EVIDENCE

          • michael malachi

direct evidence is FAITH you either have it or you don’t.

          • Gay Veteran

you obviously don’t understand the concept of evidence

          • michael malachi

Faith – the substance of things hoped for and the EVIDENCE of things not seen

          • Gay Veteran

            faith = belief
which is not evidence except for your faith

          • michael malachi

“I will give them eyes but they shall not see and ears but they shall not hear.” romans 11:8
I AM SORRY. I only pray that your eyes and ears to be opened to comprehend that which I write.

          • GSOB

The fact that you doubt His existence – says it all, and also – what He has said in His word about the unregenerate.

Lol. Do all you fantasists work off the same comedy script? Clearly…

Faith is what the righteous live by.

Stock market crash right around the bend.

    • ALWAYSTOMORROW

I am having a hard time turning “right around the bend” into a more understandable system of measurement. Let’s use time for instance.

How long in time until this “stock market crash” you speak of takes place?

      • RTL89

By the time we get to the election, just lie the last two crashes. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it

        • ALWAYSTOMORROW

          Okay. Understood. Thanks.

Last question. How do you define crash?

          • RTL89

When real price discovery kicks in and all the asset classes normalize to their fair market value

          • Steeve Girard

That will happen after the 2030 (approximate) crash.

          • RTL89

So you think we’re going to make it another 14 years? I find it hard to believe that we’ll make it the rest of this year, let alone another 14

          • Creepy Pedro

            6 months

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

You recently mentioned you thought in the 3 year time frame. Has anything recently happened to make you shorten up your guess?

          • Creepy Pedro

I said 2-3 years but 6 months is when it begins to really unfold and most will feel it. Right now, people are broke but still can get by and be OK.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Thanks for the reply. I will not drag this out past this last question. What exactly is the key thing you are referring to when you say most people will feel it.

          • Creepy Pedro

The fact that people are starting to wakeup ( dtrump) and the bankers know that the more pissed off people they see, the less control they have. Their window of opportunity gets shorter. 2-3 years till it all falls apart however.

      • Steeve Girard

I got the answer, we are in the recuperation phase of this cycle, which means 6 years of less worst economic downfalls, unless someone rigs the game to make it fall sooner, but brace yourselves in around 2022 there will be a huge fall, the foreshock of the end of the age of oil. And it will hurt. Then another recuperation. And again in around 2030… the full blast of the end of the age of oil. This time there will be no recuperation, because the forces going downhill will be stronger than the forces going uphill. Why? Lack of easy cheap energy, which is currently in the form of conventional oil.

        • Scott Comin

The timeline for 2030 is statistically right on for resources. 2022? I hope I can keep making money till then, but boy things are pretty bad. I suppose it will be a slow process so we can all get used to it. Then the elites will finally pull out and it will go caput

          • Steeve Girard

They can kick the can as long there is energy to do so.

    • gfmucci

I keep wanting to shop at Sears. Tried it 3 years ago. Everything seemed overpriced. Didn’t buy a thing. I find Home Depot cheaper than Amazon on many items. Why can’t Sears do that?

      • Robert

Sears is dead. Just waiting on the funeral. I shop first on Amazon. Have bought items that cannot be easily found elsewhere. Free shipping. Easy returns. No hassle.

        • mtntrek3

K-Mart along w/Sears. Of course they went in together some years ago. Actually most retailers are hurting. Wally World is hurting also, but not as bad as some others. Many signs of a weak economy out here.

How about some intelligent comments about the article (which is very good by the way) if not a bit repetitive

    • Lukas Ladd

You said it! How do they come to god when where talking about trade data, gdp, inventory and stocks? Was Jesus the head of the federal Reserve? Chicken and the egg, does religion make you stupid or are you stupid and therefore attracted to religion?

      • Manuel

I’m a bit tired of the chicken and the egg question. If you are able to make, somehow, a chicken DNA, and that’s what an EGG is, what comes about IS always a chicken … BUT that egg doesn’t necessarily need to come from a chicken. So the EGG is first.

The Service & info industries are part of what Eric Janzen & Micheal Hudson call the FIRE industry.
This stands for Finance,. Insurance,…Real Estate.
The people who make fortunes in these businesses are called Rentiers.
They add very little to the economy,…carry very little in the way of inventory or expenses. They are just parasites who add MOSTLY unneeded overhead to already struggling enterprises!
Sucking up credit & profits from the real economy that produces real wealth & employs real people.

What they are doing, especially in the financial markets,is impoverish the public by financial tricks.

For instance,…Wall Street hits highs & fortunes are made, because of a constant infusion of very cheap credit from the Fed to select speculators!

The Fed expands credit which causes inflation in many ways which effects everyone else outside of the Markets!
One Example: If the FIRE industries hog available credit,…companies in the real economy need to pay more for whatever scarce credit is available. The increase in expenses due to the increased cost of credit makes a manufacturer either charge more for his product or cut labor costs to make up for increased financial expenses

We,the public, are paying through higher inflation, for the easy money that the Wall Street hustlers feed through the markets,…our money & credit is being converted into their huge profits!

      • Scott Comin

Thank you for the insightful analysis. Makes sense.

The small family farms went out of business due to over whelming regulations and cost of product what you are paying in the store is nothing close to what farmer gets and food safety regulations are very expensive to maintain

    • Steeve Girard

None of the posts in this thread actually attack the real problem. Our disconnection from reality. We need Farmers, we need plantations, we need processing plants for those farms and plantations, so they can make the basic building blocks for the rest of the economy. How many of you are willing to break your backs on ground work?

      • Ken

We also need to end the atrocious ban on hemp (and cannabis). We can grow hemp for food, fuel, fiber and medicine, along with superior shelter and thousands of other things that can be made with it. And all nontoxic. Hemp heals the soil it grows in, and yields multiple crops per year in some areas. Yet we mindlessly cut timber for paper when hemp yields far more per acre without the habitat destruction. We have been brainwashed to think that the most beneficial crop on the planet is somehow evil. Yet one plant can produce medicine that treats hundreds of human ailments. Patented pharmaceuticals are targeted to treat one condition at a time, and all have potentially harmful side effects. But a dumbed down public has no clue thanks government propaganda and to our school system. What an arrogant, ignorant lot we are.

        • piccadillybabe

Yep, can’t see the forest through the trees. Can’t fix stupid.

          • Steeve Girard

The reason why hemp should be THC less, is that if it’s used for structural items, why should it be included in the growth of the plant? My comment was not stupid!

        • Steeve Girard

I agree hemp is a useful plant, minus the THC of course.

          • Ken

You would take the medicinal THC out of the plant? That is a totally ignorant point of view. THC, and all the cannabinoids are remarkable healing agents. Dr Robert Melamede says that cannabis mitigates ALL age related illnesses. So denying THC is a totally ignorant position, aimed at removing one of the most beneficial medicines from pharmacopoeia.

Those who are ignorant of, and or are in opposition to beneficial THC and all 100 plus cannabinoids would do humanity a grave disservice. You need to get over your bias based on ignorance and do some research. Stay clear of the propaganda, designed to mislead and confuse.

I take it you are totally ignorant of the fact that your body’s endocannabinoid system creates its own cannabinoids. Anandamide was the first endocannabinoid to be discovered. Anandamide is a recently discovered neurotransmitter that plays a role in pain, depression, appetite, memory, and fertility. Its name comes from ananda, the Sanskrit word for “bliss.”

So, your body produces cannabinoids. Would you ban any or all chemicals your body makes to contribute to your health?

          • Steeve Girard

So you want to stone the people who try to make the plant into structural items? It is nonsense to include the THC in large cultures if you try to make plastic like products out of the plant.

          • Ken

That is the most ignorant statement I have yet heard on the topic of cannabis. Cannabis medicine was among the most prescribed medicines prior to the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937. The reason for the law was two fold. William Randolph Hearst had invested in millions of acres in timber land to vertically integrate his newspaper business from paper production to newspaper distribution. He bet on timber and a chemical process developed by his crony capitalist friend Lamont DuPont. When the decordicator came on line to process hemp (formerly it was hand processed), hemp became the best, cheapest, and most renewable source material for paper. And hemp produces good quality paper as well. Hearst would have been ruined, so he used the massive power of his yellow journalism and newspapers to discredit marijuana (an unknown term at the time, a Mexican slang for cannabis). Congress was duped into passing the law during the Christmas recess when most were home with their families.

The second reason was to eliminate cannabis from the pharmacopoeia. Rockefeller wanted his oil based synthetic, patented pharmaceuticals to be free from competition. How better to accomplish this than to make the number one competitive threat illegal?
Hemp does not contain enough THC (only .3%) to get anyone high. So, your ignorance about the difference between hemp and cannabis is obvious. Hemp is industrial, cannabis which contains THC among a hundred other cannabinoids is used for medicine, and for recreational purposes like relaxing after a hard day’s work.

You give the pharmaceutical companies a free pass, believing that they are benevolent. Basically their purpose for existence is to provide patented products to extract our treasure. The brainwashing has been extremely effective, as most patients don’t give it a second thought if their doctor prescribes a medication for conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and scores of other maladies. These drugs are designed to be taken for life. Great for revenue streams, but the patients become dependent on them, suffer side effects and in some cases are prescribed other medications to counteract the side effects of the primary medication. $$$

Curing disease is not the goal of the pharmaceutical companies. The goal is masking symptoms and gaining a patient as a customer for life. That is the business model. Very effective when used against the lazy and or to trick the uninformed.

You are too concerned about those that want to use THC for their own personal reasons. Your fears are unjustified. Please educate yourself to learn the difference between cannabis and hemp. And to understand the difference between synthetic, toxic, side effect laden pharmaceuticals and natural, beneficial cannabis. Learning some history would do you well. And not the kind they teach in the dumbed down public school system.

      • So CAL Snowman

Earth to Steeve – we already have all of those things. The Problem is that the farmers and plantations are all run by corporations like Monsanto. Corporate farms have destroyed the small family farms that were once the back bone of America.

      • K2

Just because the bible os full pf suddenlies, doesnt mean the economy will collapse suddenly.

  • XSANDIEGOCA

I read Icahn is shorting the economy big time!

  • Willard Ferch

FDR tried stimulating the economy which extended the depression for many years. In 1939 Henry Morganthau, Treasury Sec., said they had thrown tons of money at the problem and it hadn’t worked. He was discouraged and wished someone else would take his job. When O came up with the first stimulus package, I wrote Sen. Baucus and told him it wouldn’t work, which of course he paid no attention to. I wrote that it would fail; Liberals wrote it and passed it, O signed it, and that settles it. One definition of insanity is trying a failed process over and over, expecting positive results. That’s when I decided there were nefarious reasons behind O and Liberal agenda. Now the price we will pay is devestating in many ways. Fiddlin

Now trump will calm the angry white Anglo Saxon protestants and conservatives. It is just entertainment to keep us believing until all is prepared for serfdom of the masses. Hillary will not be a good choice to keep the wasps quiet, she is totally bought off and I don’t think the wasps could take her b.s. without —-

      • So CAL Snowman

How exactly has Obongo “calmed” the blacks and latinos and liberals?? Did you not see the Ferguson and Baltimore riots? Have you not seen the BLM terrorist movement?? have you not seen the latinos attacking Americans at Trump speeches?? Have you not seen the liberals going apoplectic at the thought of men being denied the right to use the women’s restrooms in North Carolina?? I do agree that the President is a glorified limo driver though.

There is no “stock market.” There is a “stock scorecard” which indicates who has acquired ownership of stock, listed companies, no market, just an accounting of plundering. It is incorrect and improperly supportive of the elite to acquiesce to their “stock market” name game. I suggest that we stop using the misleading and elite-supporting term “stock market” term and instead use another term such as “ownership scorecard” or “ownership possession” or something else.

If this generation is within the general time-frame of the era JUST BEFORE CHRIST’S SECOND COMING,then we who believe in the Bible as God’s inerrant Word are assured we can see the signals of the season leading up to the end. – [ Mark 13: 37]
“What I say to one, I say unto all, watch..When all of these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your head, for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke. 21:28).

There is no God, otherwise, Jesus would have come back by now. Or, we are no longer loved by God and he is now indifferent to us. Either way, he’s not helping us prevent all the unnecessary suffering.

      • DB200

God is never indifferent to people’s suffering. He has a different time table and agenda compared to us. Read the Bible, for instance the book of Job. When you realize that there is life after death, then life in this world suddenly gets a different meaning.

Face reality. Open your eyes and see the handwriting on the wall. Research Google and see the millions of people with advance degrees who cannot find work. There are people who have been unemployed for over 5 years. There are others working 2 and 3 jobs and cannot stay afloat financially. Something is wrong with that picture!!! Many small towns in America are turning into ghost towns. The factories have closed up and the towns are dying. I just read The Army Times. Congress plans to wipe out certain benefits for veterans. It goes on and on…

I live in southeastern and central PA region and am witnessing many empty office and retail buildings that were once occupied. Also, there is a ton of commercial real estate land up for sale and it is increasing with no sold signs on them. These have been for sale for the last 2-3 years with reduced prices. If things were so good then these buildings should be full and occupied while commercial land is sold at the seller’s price. I know many that have lost their jobs and I lost my job 4 months ago with 3M who laid off 1500. I have not been able to find a job even close to what I was making. Worse, I have not had many bites since most jobs are lower paying with less benefits. They are afraid to hire me believing I will leave for something better which I highly doubt. I have 2 degrees and an MBA….I will likely be going back to school for a PHD while applying to Universities an federal/state jobs which are the only stable opportunities presently. Even those jobs are getting 100s of applications nd will be difficult. However, I do have an interview with a major university in PA for a director’s positon. The job will be a $75,000 pay cut but it is stable and has great benefits. Plus the job is more rewarding if I would get it. I have a feeling many are interviewing. This is the state of our real economy and will only get worse. The one who take less paying more stable jobs such as I mentioned will barley survive but will survive compare to the masses in this country.

      • ONE WHO KNOWS

It’s obvious we’ve been lied to. Most of us were taught to graduate high school and college because that would lead to securing a job. Job security is an illusion. Had I known the truth I would’ve made different choices for my life. In addition to college I would’ve created a small business for residual income.

        • Robert

Good point. A good decision for some would be to forget college and go into plumbing or heat/ air. When the sewer is clogged you ain’t calling ghostbusters or an English Ph.D. College has been a huge scam for many. It also seems that the core group of mostly white males who have collaborated to corrupt they system have come out of those liberal bastions Harvard and Yale. Oh the irony.

          • REALIST

College, today, is BS. With the dumbing down of the classes ( to accommodate Affirmative Action retards), those who hire and fire at companies know a college education is worthless.

        • REALIST

I have encouraged BOTH of my children to NOT go to college. I set up my son in a really nice, hot, fun Sports Bar and he is making a killing (cash, no Obamacare, no paper work, no government regulation…..just sell alcohol and the government will leave you alone).

I gave him excellent advice. He comps every cute single white chick that comes in. No charge. THAT brings in the men. We keep up with the LARGEST tv’s and such and he packs the place.

Now, my daughter is a school teacher, BUT, she brings in her single teacher friends and gets free food and drinks (thanks to my son). These single white chicks attract the men.

Everybody wins. The white women get free drinks from the men and my kids make money off this natural and normal sex game. Don’t ever go into Health Care (like I did) and be a total f’n fool.

I will be working some where but I am glad your not my boss since you seem to be a real Pr**k. You and I have had many disagreements in the past. You are probably a retired baby boomer or from the silent generation. Guys like you that have been out of the work force have no clue. I get into discussions like this with my parents. Funny, those generations had everything handed to them but they were the first to complain if they did not get their raise or pension. Now those same generations are telling us we need to make sacrifices and go without. Hypocrisy runs wild in this country. Just like the fish story: eat the dead fish because its OK IT WON’T make you sick…SURE….Did you have your dead fish meal tonite????? I bet you wouldn’t eat it. More like a steak and big baked potato. Ya, the younger generations are supposed to eat the dead fish and not complain.

The economic collapse is not the problem; it’s the goal. Bankrupting the nations of the world so they’ll adopt a global currency is the end game. The incentive will be to forgive the debts and “start fresh” with a new cashless economy. Coming to a neighbourhood near you, sometime soon.

Michael, may you continue to prosper in the eminent collapse.

  • These eleven signs should spur you on in your efforts to prepare for collapse. If you are in the stock market, get out. If you have money in the bank, get it out – or, at least as much as you can. If you don’t have precious metals, get some.

More important is God – get close to Him, now. Next is a safe location. Third, a good community. Fourth, access to food and water.

Make sure that you have prepared lots of all the above for as many as you know.

It is helpful to supply economic analysis without the filtering by corporate media hacks known as Business Section “journalists” who freely editorialize that “growth” (on a finite planet) is good.
Yet, the message of such alternative analyses is rarely in support of simple living closer to nature, nor offering awareness of the oil reality that is the basis of the industrial world economy. Rather it is as if the collapse of endless growth and the pain of middle class retrenchment are a leadership error or just more conniving by the .1%. Lamenting or griping about financial downturns does not prepare anyone for dealing with collapse, nor for establishing community resiliency through ecologically sane practices and systems.
But there are some interesting indicators in this article that are suppressed by the mainstream media that keep hapless, passive consumers in the dark.

  • Shares are really overpriced.
Look how big is Apple, how many hegde funds and institutional investor are long on Apple, and Apple has huge impact on Nasdaq index, what happen if people stop buy expensive Iphones and Samsung or HUAWEI come up with new phones and their trend going viral…. crash!

  • Ginger

This article is excellent. Yes, how ridiculous that they expect the shrinking American middle class to go out and spend more money that they don’t have to prop up this failing economy. Tell Obama to go talk to his friends who want this “global economy” to go to India or China to get the money, or go get it from all of the illegal Hispanics that he wants to support. Stupid. Yes, all of these businesses like to run to the middle class for support, yet none like to support the middle class. Obama has risen the debt ceiling twice to get us to almost $20 trillion in national debt, yet we’ve had a net loss in small businesses since 2008. And, typically it has been small businesses that have helped us get out of recessions. I really don’t believe we every left recession from 2008, but the Obama Administration was printing up a lot of money until 2014 when they reached their maximum. This is why more businesses are feeling the pinch now, and this cycle is unsustainable. Whomever becomes president will have to deal with the mounting debt which will hit the debt ceiling in early 2017. The unemployment figures Obama puts out are fake, the technology industry has over inflated the stock market, and many of those stocks are not worth as much as they claim, and as more and more good paying jobs have been shipped overseas or have been dismantled due to Obama’s fake climate control claims, we have been rapidly losing ground. Things will never improve until we get new leadership. America can no longer take care of the world. We need to take care of ourselves. If Hillary gets elected, we might as well say that the USA will become a 3rd world country. We have to make some drastic changes to save ourselves. Trump 2016!

We need to stop arguing with each other, put our differences aside, and unite, which probably won’t happen !! This is why so few control so many!! Democrat vs Republucan, Conservative vs Liberal WHite vs Black vs Hispanic and so forth. It is getting us nowhere.

We need to unite against the real enemy that is ruining this once great country. The elite, the 1 percent that controls 65 percent percent of the wealth, the lobbyists, the super delegates that go against who the voter choose and puts in their own candidate. These are the folks destroying this Once great nation.
