The U.S. Economy Officially Joins The Global Economic Slowdown – 1st Quarter GDP Comes In At 0.5%

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Slow Down - Public DomainEven the government is admitting that the U.S. economy is slowing down.  On Thursday, we learned that U.S. GDP grew at just a 0.5 percent annual rate during the first quarter of 2016.  This was lower than analysts were anticipating, and it marks the third time in a row that the GDP number has declined compared to the previous quarter.  In other words, GDP growth has been declining for close to a year now, and this lines up perfectly with what I have been saying about how the second half of last year was a turning point that plunged us into the early chapters of a brand new economic crisis.  And as you will see below, the official GDP number is highly manipulated, and the way that it is calculated has been changed numerous times over the years.  So the bad number that is being reported by the government is actually the best case scenario.

Of course many of the “experts” being quoted by the mainstream media are saying that this is just a temporary blip and that good times for the U.S. economy are right around the corner.  For instance, check out this quote from Reuters

“The economy essentially stalled in the first quarter, but that doesn’t mean it is faltering,” said Joel Naroff, chief economist at Naroff Economic Advisors in Holland, Pennsylvania. “Some of the restraints to growth are dissipating. Growth is likely to accelerate going forward.”

We have been told this same story for years, but the “acceleration” has never materialized.  In fact, Barack Obama is poised to become the only president in U.S. history to never have a single year when the economy grew by more than 3 percent during his presidency.

That is a statistic that is hard to believe, but it is true.

In addition, Louis Woodhill has pointed out that the average rate of U.S. economic growth during the Obama years will be the fourth worst in recorded history…

Assuming 2.67% RGDP growth for 2016, Obama will leave office having produced an average of 1.55% growth. This would place his presidency fourth from the bottom of the list of 39*, above only those of Herbert Hoover (-5.65%), Andrew Johnson (-0.70%) and Theodore Roosevelt (1.41%)

So does anyone out there still believe that there has been an “Obama recovery”?

We also need to add another layer to our analysis.  By now, everyone should realize that the official GDP number is highly manipulated, and the way that GDP is calculated has been changed many, many times over the years.

For example, here is Peter Schiff commenting on changes that were made in 2013

The latest example of this was revealed earlier this week when the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) announced new methods of calculating Gross Domestic Product (GDP) that will immediately make the economy “bigger’ than it used to be. The changes focus heavily on how money spent on research and development (R&D) and the production of “intangible” assets like movies, music, and television programs will be accounted for. Declaring such expenditures to be “investments” will immediately increase U.S. GDP by about three percent. Such an upgrade would immediately increase the theoretic size of the U.S economy and may well lead to the perception of faster growth. In reality these smoke and mirror alterations are no different from changes made to the inflation and unemployment yardsticks that for years have convinced Americans that the economy is better than it actually is.

And the following originally comes from a Bloomberg article which discussed changes that were made in 2015

The way some parts of U.S. gross domestic product are calculated are about to change in the wake of the debate over persistently depressed first-quarter growth.

In a blog post published Friday, the Bureau of Economic Analysis listed a series of alterations it will make in seasonally adjusting data used to calculate economic growth. The changes will be implemented with the release of the initial second-quarter GDP estimate on July 30, the BEA said.

One of the changes that was made last year was intended to artificially boost GDP growth numbers for the first quarter of each year.

So without that artificial boost, what would the real number for the first quarter of 2016 look like?

John Williams of shadowstats.com tracks what the official government numbers would be if honest numbers were actually being used, and according to him U.S. GDP growth has been continuously negative since 2005.

But we certainly can’t have the press report those sorts of things.  If that were the case, then everyone would be talking about the “economic depression” that never seems to end.

Unfortunately, the truth is that we are in the midst of a long-term economic decline, and we can see evidence of this all around us.  For example, on Thursday we also learned that the rate of homeownership in the United States has fallen once again, and it is now hovering just 0.1 percent above the lowest level ever recorded in American history…

After gains in the second half of 2015, the homeownership rate fell to just 63.6 percent, seasonally adjusted, in the first quarter of this year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Homeownership hit a high of 69.4 percent in 2004, during one of the biggest housing booms in history. That was also when mortgage lending was arguably at its loosest level in history. The homeownership rate is now just one-tenth of 1 basis point higher than its all-time low in the second quarter of 2015.

For many more numbers that show that the U.S. economy has continued to decline, please see the following articles that I authored earlier this month…

Now that U.S. GDP growth has been steadily dropping for three quarters in a row, hopefully people will wake up and begin to realize what is happening.

We are entering very hard times, so now is not the time to go out and buy fancy new toys or to go into lots of debt.

Rather, this is a time to tighten our belts, batten down the hatches and prepare for rough seas ahead.

Sadly, most people continue to have blind faith that our politicians and the central bankers will be able to perform some kind of miracle to save us from what is coming.

“Unfortunately, the truth is that we are in the midst of a long-term economic decline”

Now that Mike is more believeable than an economic collapse.

    • GSOB

You can’t have a collapse without some kind of decline.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

we are declining look at the GDP numbers

    • Jazz

Growth is growth. The economy is still growing. People are still employed, buying stuff, and supporting the economy. It may not be the roaring 90s but times are still great here in America- the land of opportunity.

Remember the economy is what you make it. Don’t have a job, create one. Not happy with your current job find a new one. Not making enough money, start a business. Your personal economy is what matters most!

      • ALWAYSTOMORROW

I am doing just fine and for the most part I agree with you.

The only thing I am starting to change my opinion on is that there are some good, educated very employable people who during better times would find it easier to get a job.

I still think it is mostly the individuals drive to find employment, but not in all cases.

        • alan

If you live in the Confederate States its not so rosy down here. If you want to see collapse come on down.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Or if you think the collapse is mainly in the confererate states, come on up.

      • Rorschach

You actually believe that crap you are posting? Just look at the decline of small business under the Obama administration. It’s been at the worst levels for decades now.

      • K2

You are wasting your time with these people. These people are more interested in wallowing in doom and gloom rather than look for a new job or start a business. They wont buy stocks either no matter how they rise. Fools dont deserve to make money. I’d suggest you stop these comments of yours.

  • df NJ

We need tax policies that encourage CEOs to invest in plants and equipment in the US as opposed have policies that are favorable to CEO compensation.

  • df NJ

First quarter growth has been 4 out of the last 7 years. It probably means nothing for the whole year.

  • Bill

If the collapse occurs over several years perhaps the sheeple won’t notice if the establishment sprinkles a little hopium along the way.

The real threat to the establishment is Donald Trump telling the truth along the way to a house cleaning.

    • Steeve Girard

The will notice it when the light will not come on anymore, and they freeze in winter, in their homes.

“Jump on in, the water’s fine!” – said the world economy to the U.S…

I wouldn’t go quite so far as to say Obama has been a failure as far as the economy is concerned – after all, the Great Recession could have been much, much worse than it was. But I believe we all expected things to be a little bit better…

    • Rorschach

“Jump on in, the water’s fine!” – said the troll to the gullible Sheep and consumers.

Obama did nothing to prevent or lessen the impacts of the 2008 financial crisis which is still prevalent to this day. He’s just as much of a failure as his predecessor and his economic record reflects that. So tell me what exactly was his contribution to lessening the impact other than continuing with the same status quo?

  • Robert

If you have declared bankruptcy due to an outrageous medical expense,
lost your job, had your house foreclosed, been diagnosed with a terminal
illness or your family has broken apart, then you have experienced
collapse. I have friends whose lives have collapsed. Suicide rates
are way up. People are taking drugs or drinking themselves to death.
Collapse is here for many. I have never been sure what Michael is
talking about when he has used the word collapse. I always figured he
might be talking about an attack on our electric grid or some large
disaster but I do not know. Decline/collapse. Potato/tomato.

    • Leighton Williams

He’s talking about the final collapse of the global financial system, which nearly happened about Mmm, let’s see..about eight years ago and ever since then the only thing keeping this faux system together is the massive printing of money out of thin air, that’s why he’s been blasting out articles practically every day from that time till now, warning how the coming collapse will profoundly plunge not only the USA into a major depression but also shake the rest of the financial structure to its knees.

      • ONE WHO KNOWS

Yup. The GAME is over. Life is about to become very real. I mean very real.

        • Leighton Williams

Right, and if I may also add: The painful reality is that the destruction of America as a sovereign republic is at the top of the list for TPTB. It is a key part to their plan of the NWO and complete enslavement of Planet Earth. Now, global economic chaos is erupting all across the planet. Major banks are offering negative interest rates…that is NOT a good thing at all.

These people have repeatedly “kicked the can down the road for the last several years” since they know the global financial system is teetering on collapse.

          • GSOB

            Judgment

          • RTL89

How much longer do you think they can sustain this? We always hear these financial analysts come forward saying that the Fed is “out of tricks”, but then more tricks are applied. Is it possible that they can sustain this forever?

          • alan

They may be out of tricks but they are not out of ink and paper. Now go party like its 1929.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Not forever, BUT if it lasts your lifetime it might as well be forever.

          • Dicey

Those saying they are out of bullets are very wrong indeed. They are applying normal economic thinking to completely abnormal economic times.

          • John E

Amen. This slow rolling economic collapse is nothing more than the consequences of devaluing of fiat currency (which has no intrinsic value itself) and government restriction on free enterprise (enterprise not business).

The government has the bullets (authority) but is unwilling to use them in a way that does anything but create waste and hardship.

I think many preppers, readers of the economic collapse, and others are cheering for the collapse because it seems like the only way forward or only way to extract admissions from the ruling class that the system is broken.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I think many preppers, readers, and others are just bored and looking for drama if they cheer on a collapse.. what’s more, they’re likely to be disappointed.

          • MeMadMax

It can be sustained as long as oil is bought/sold using the dollar. If the world ever stops using the dollar in oil trade we are cooked.

Unfortunately, there is one country that can pull the lever so to speak on this and that is saudi arabia.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

“IMF Says Saudi Arabia Could Be Bankrupt By 2020”
Why do you think that Saudi Arabia would want to risk relations w/the USA? How would it benefit?

          • Steeve Girard

They know they have been betting on the wrong “camel”, and they want to cut their losses.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

And who is the better “camel”? They know who butters their bread.

          • Steeve Girard

They will align with the Chinese, they have the bigger market now. (gasoline for the new cars)

          • K2

            but not the strongest military.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

And what happens if the USA dumps Chinese and the Saudis in trading? A world of pain for both China whose own currency would be shot in the foot due to debt/trade ratios and the Saudi who uses us not only for trade but for military purposes. We are China’s BIGGEST trade partner.

          • Steeve Girard

The Dollar loses world reserve status, The Yuan gains world reserve status for a while, and China will have the boost to finance a world wide military, while the US military budget will rust in less than 5 years. Of course, the debt of China will hockey stick like the US debt did. Because no one can resist a good binge.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

The Yuan would plummet rapidly as trade w/China plummets.

          • Steeve Girard

Not likely, all the rare materials needed for the new technologies are in Asia and South America, they are the new superpowers (Lithium and Rare Earths)

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Their GDP is 10.36 Trillion. Ours is 17.42 Trillion. They have over 1.3 billion mouths to feed. We have less than 319 million mouths to feed.

          • Steeve Girard

Money means nothing (it is paper), who owns the most critical resources determines the fate of the world.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You better have a lot more means of supporting your people if you have a much higher population. China in itself doesn’t have more means than the USA proportionally.

          • Steeve Girard

I guess lots of us forgotten how we almost lost WWI. We almost lost, because the English and the French did not have the dedication to a goal, as the German did. It took the new and spirited (at the time) Americans to change the tide. Now, we are weary.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You as a Canadian may be weary, but the USA, despite Michael’s analysis, has plenty of aptitude.

          • Rorschach

Everytime I point out his errors the posting mysteriously disappears.

          • Rorschach

And that’s the entire reason you think? How about your trolling and bickering and arguing you do on a constant basis with other posters?

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Yes, either Michael or the board deletes posts in an attempt to cover Michael’s ongoing inaccuracies.. It’s just that plain and simple.

          • Rorschach

Right and that has nothing to do with you bickering and arguing and insulting other posters and commentators. Just like you called Castiel a “European Reject” in the other article.

You really are a piece of work and you fail at trolling. You might as well jump into the nearest crocodile or alligator infested waters closest to you.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

It’s not bickering to call Michael .. how may I type it.. incorrect.. and to state the facts.

          • Rorschach

You completely ignored what I said about you goading, bickering, arguing with other posters. Did you or did you not call Castiel a “European Reject”? Answer the question troll.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Yes, because Castiel has an ongoing attitude. You still never answered my question about when you’ve written something non-snark over 5 lines.
You are the biggest troll and contributor of lack of substance on the board.
This is what Castiel said before I made that comment.. “Lol….discussing with her its like trhowing gasoline to a fire…Just call Putin and send a nuke to her location :)”

          • Rorschach

Says the troll. You still didn’t answer the question and expect others to answer or respond to you troll. Good luck with that attitude and keep on failing.

Thats a Wiki definition. As usual your saying something that you do not understand. Explain that definition in layman terms. S**t you couldn’t explain macro/micro theory so why would you be able to explain this. Wage off time.

            The Two Foundations

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
“And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.
            “Everyone who hears
            these words of
Mine and does not act on them,
will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell
            and great was its fall.”

When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one having authority and not as their scribes.

No this will continue till the TRAITORS decide the time is right to pull the financial plug ” To bring in the ” NEW WORLD ORDER ” and the end of America as we know it….goodbye Constitution….goodbye America.

          • Lennie Pike

It could easily explode within three months because they are beginning to lose their ability to suppress the price of gold and silver. BUY!!!, BUY!!!, BUY!!!

Suppressing the price and then losing control of it naturally may be a plan of theirs though. The reason the price was suppressed was to postpone the collapse of the Dollar for as long as possible during which time China (and Russia) could buy gold at fire sale prices. China has a 500,000,000 man army that “They” may have plans on using against the rest of the world. Maybe as a necessary consequence of China accumulating gold – Russia was allowed to also. Maybe Russia is in on the NWO also and it is all one big show for us suckers. We will soon find out – maybe within three months – if you ask me.

You’ll still be better off though having a little gold and silver than not having any at all – better off at least for a little while until they can round you up if you are a dissident. Plan things correctly – and that rounding up process can be made quite difficult and time consuming if not deadly for the a$$holes.

          • Lennie Pike

5,000,000 that is – at least.

            ………….VOTE TRUMP 2016……………

Trump will put “THE BENGHAZI HAG ” in jail !.

4 Marines and Ambassador Stephens died at BENGHAZI because of “HILLARY the HAG “

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

How much prior political experience does Trump have?
            NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!
He talks the talk, but never walked the walk.
But hey.. it’s only THE PRESIDENCY!
Maybe next we’ll grab people off the street w/no medical training to do surgery!
Ok, neither did Ulysses Grant or Dwight Eisenhower have a prior politcal position, though both had a strong military background. Dwight being ” The Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in World War II”
and Grant “Commanding General of the United States Army”

How much military background does Trump have? NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!
“no major U.S. company has filed for Chapter 11 more than Trump’s casino empire in the last 30 years.”
He has filed four business bankruptcies. Maybe he thinks it’s just as easy to file bankruptcy w/the entire government and walk away.

          • Gary Purcell

Hey snot-box. Obummer never had any military experience either, and look and the damage he has done to this country!!!!!

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            Goofball, Obama was a Senator

          • Lazarovic

How old are you Bill?? 12, maybe thirteen?
You left out “nanny, nanny, boo-boo” and “poopy-pants”. Grow up, you’re embarrassing yourself.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            Barking Bill bites 😛

          • jaxon64

Because he is paid to be here–this is his life. All day, every day, hour after hour he posts and begs for someone to notice him, or to validate his existence or opinions by replying.
Quite sad and pathetic that a human life could be reduced to that actually–he deserves our pity more than our scorn.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            She She you fool..
Jaxon,The Yuletide Whiner, you’re a regular here (for some reason i’m not sure of.. mostly to whine that you’re not a millionaire i guess) and you’ve been here long enough to know I’m female. Snotress is the feminine form

          • CASTIEL

there is no vampires….did you know that fact? when you burn in hell…..tell that to Satan

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Go back to your “English as a Second Language” class.

          • CASTIEL

and french as third and spanish as fourth…..and you ignorant????? barking is your first language i bet

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You garble your trash on the board as if you’re intelligent, but we know you’re just an ill-tempered troll.

          • CASTIEL

Thats the best you can do? if stupidity payed taxes you already had starved to death……get help

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

It sums things well.. Now go cry to Michael or your mommy because I don’t say things you like on the blog.

          • CASTIEL

maybe one day Michael decides to ban you….honestely you just came here to destroy the board…..Then you will cry

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            boo hoo.. I’m so worried.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

You dont really say anything at all….

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            And you’re not really here

          • Lennie Pike

“That sums up things well” you moron.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            jackass

          • Lennie Pike

In CASTIEL’S comment his English was perfect.

The only possible reason you could have had to think that his English was incorrect was if instead of him saying “there IS no vampires” – you thought that he should have said – “there ARE no vampires”. His English is fine – he was rightfully mocking you by mimicking your saying “there IS no God”. But also he got you good in one other way which I’m sure you also did not notice – you did not capitalize “God”, which I’m sure is also the reason he did not capitalize the first word in his comment as is grammatically correct – it was the first time ever that I can remember that Castiel did not capitalize the first word in a sentence – which is grammatically correct in his language also.

I’ve got a newsflash for ya – Castiel is a lot smarter than you.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I skimmed your comment in less than a second but you took all that time to defend that troll., You are worthless

          • Lennie Pike

Read it again, but this time more slowly and with comprehension because you misunderstood – it was not a defense of CASTIEL – he needs no help defending himself – it was an attack on you.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I see no reason to read your crap in detail

          • Lennie Pike

And I did not take a lot of time with that comment as you claimed – actually it was one of my most brief comments ever. It’s just that compared to your “two line snarky posts” as you call them, it only seemed like a long comment to you – because you have no attention to detail, you have a very short attention span, and you have no ability to comprehend correctly what others say to you, or the cognitive ability to write anything longer than an eleven word average length comment of which 95% have absolutely nothing to do with the applicable TECB article which you are expected to be commenting on.

Another short one for ya – hope you got through it o.k..

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I skim just fine & read things of worth in detail w/fine reading comprehension

          • Lennie Pike

I couldn’t tell how many words that comment of yours was but it was a pretty short one as usual.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I do write at length.. more than 5 lines of non-snark unlike Rorshach.. but don’t expect it for the likes of you & your type

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

there’s nothing certain but death and taxes… profound /s

          • Lennie Pike

            Taxes are not certain.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            We all pay taxes.
Go back to Michael’s article about that.

          • Ricardo

Why does everyone always put that the wrong way around….death and taxes. No one personally can pay tax if they are dead so shouldn’t it be taxes and death.

          • Lennie Pike

“Breaktime is over, back to standing on your heads” – satan said to everyone in hell standing knee deep in sewage.

          • Orac4Prez

I’ll bite! There is a God. But the cup you have “chosen unwisely” is a cup of willful ignorance. With your “avatar”, you have chose an image of someone who lives in the shadows, sucking the life blood out of living to live an unnatural life. None the less, that should make you an ideal capitalist – stealing the life blood out of the hard working people without a care in the world! The true God is not mocked, but He is patient…. You may think you worship yourself, but the reality is you cannot see your true master in the dark place you live.

          • Green tip

          • Paul Ivanoff

Actually there is no evidence that supports the idea that things are about to change. The world has been running on credit since the 70’s. Nothing suggests that’s about to change

        • K2

          yep…..the sky will fall tomorrow.

          • Rorschach

K2 got anything useful to add or do you still have tunnel vision? You are a joke and nothing more. Might as well go join your troll buddies.

          • K2

I am not kidding. The sky will really fall tomorrow.

      • Jazz

It’s like the boy who cried wolf though. The economy goes through ups and downs. We had a down period in 2008 and 9, but things have recovered nicely since then. Unemployment is low. Inflation is tame. Stocks have been great. The party goes on!

        • JF

Don’t believe the government lying numbers. Unemployment is NOT low and it’s getting worse. I once knew someone who retired from the the government’s Bureau of Statistics and was warned to never believe the numbers the government issues. When things are bad, you will never hear the true numbers.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Thats right…….

        • Rob, Portland

Sorry, but Jazz has a point. He/she has provided facts. You provide “don’t trust the government”. Facts typically win.

          • Dicey

What facts? He did not provide any facts whatsoever. He simple gave his opinion without providing any factual and verifiable data to back up those facts you speak of.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

The stock numbers are pretty observable, the unemployment numbers are iffy.

          • Rorschach

So stock numbers are representative of the “real economy”. No wonder you need to check yourself into the nearest insane asylum Sunny.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I didn’t quite say that, though it IS PARTIALLY TRUE in relation to status quo.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

You are talking to a fool….but good try.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Bill believes in the Tooth Fairy.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            lol fool

          • Paul Patriot

Facts, are seeing what is going on around this country…..which does not match the “facts” that jazz refers to.
Please extract your head from the sand and take a look around this nation……the reality differs greatly than government “facts”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            YUP…………

          • Paul Patriot

I did not see any verifiable facts given only opinion……

          • Rorschach

Rob the only facts that Jazz presented was his opinion that isn’t backed by anything. Now stop supporting the troll.

          • Mark

He provided no facts. Here are some real facts…Labor participation at 96 million (the worst figure in years). Increases in welfare from 35 million to 50 million. 50% unemployment with college grads. Intel laying off 12,000. Caterpillar laying off 30,000 months end of last year. State Street laying off 7500. Average household income down $5000 since Ovummer took office. Just the facts.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

We all know the stock market is at record highs whether you think government pumping is helping it or not.

          • TrollingforTrolls

All is not well ,Snotty. I know you are not a stupid woman. Everything is falsely inflated and the numbers lie. I met with my insurance agent today and we were discussing the Intel layoffs. 12,000!!. THAT is a huge number, most of them being here in my state of Oregon. Furthermore, because of the large corporations here (Nike, Intel) it has driven the cost of housing astronomically high. Management companies, in all their greed, are raising rents (because these corporations are willing to pay) before the rent caps are set by the state. However, for the normal, low wage earning citizen, this is utter catastrophe. Roll the dice and decide what is more important, shelter or nourishment.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I didn’t say all is well in the economy at large, but the stock market IS doing well.

          • Mark

Actually you are wrong again. The stock market reached highs last year in May. It has not reached that number since then and most likely will not reach until after the crash. Maybe 10 years from now. Also, it does not represent the real economy. If you did not have the government cheating and propping it up the markets would be around 6000.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Another homerun….gold star….but my friend we are talking to fools !

          • Mark

Yes…you are right but I feel I need to express my thoughts. Maybe I am wasting my time.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            yes you are 🙂

          • Mark

Ya, wasting my time with a sister from the hood that spews nonsense.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            Near record highs.

          • Mark

Did you read anything I just mentioned. THE STOCK MARKET HAS NO REFLECTION ON THE TRUE STATE OF THE ECONOMY. The market is over valued and driven by the government, Fed, low interest rates, and foreign central banks. Thanks to wasting tax payer’s money and wasted revenues we accomplished nothing.
It’s like talking to a teenager that has a hole in their heads. Oops, what am I saying you are a teenager.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

right.. a good stock market means business is terrible.. /s

          • Mark

You are such a dope.. You still do not get it. A stock price is just that which does not correlate to the company actually doing well. Maybe you need to understand basics on how stock prices go up and down based on certain financial engineering methods.
This is not a good stock market. It’s an over priced manipulated market due to government intervention. If a company’s stock price was not subsidized by government intervention the prices of most companies would be down significantly. As I said lets wait and see….Florida’s economy is not so hot except for the weather and Disney World. I know because my relatives just shut down a retail store near Sanford, FL. Business not good.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

That explains a lot.. you’re a florida cracker likely hooked on hillbilly heroin unemployed and passing time in a mobile home.
Your relative’s business in a doohick town failed so the economy is terrible.

          • Mark

Oh, you called me a cracker. Well, now we are getting somewhere. Your right I’m a white boy. You must be a sister living in the ghetto of Florida. There sure is a lot of ghetto in Florida so that explains your uneducated answers that are worse than a kindergarteners. I live up north in PA where you tend to see more educated people. So I’m not used to communicating with uneducated sisters like yourself. Most of the sisters up here are very smart women.

Now don’t get me wrong… I have many friends that are sisters who are extremely smart who I worked with. They were class acts and I still keep in touch. Now, I have two degrees with an MBA. Worked for Fortune 500 companies and have great insight on real world Corp America. I’m far from perfect but I do have some credentials. I also had the opportunity to play college football and am a 2nd degree black belt. I used to get into to many confrontations and needed to control my own spiritual inner as a young punk. It’s amazing what self control does to someone and can only hope someday you learn this virtue. I still have a temper but better controlled and yes will get mad on this blog. I also believe in the creator that you mock so much and can only hope you change your views. A life without God is like having a life without life.

Now Sunny you seem to either be an immature little high school hoodster that has not graduated from your diapers or an uneducated sis that needs to step out of the little space your in and get a taste of the real world.

By the way my wife is the best person in the world and I am the luckiest man to have her. Maybe you need to take some lessons from her so you can do good for your man someday.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

wow.. I really struck a nerve.. you sure went to town!
I’m a college grad white woman from NY who doesn’t like snow and awful roads (such as in Pa)
I’m glad you enjoy your sisters.
Sounds like the Domestic Violence charge stuck. I guess you made enough money that some woman would still accept you.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Only at highs because of The Fed pumping to give fools like you and Jazz the illusion of wealth….oooh look at my 401K lol look at it the day after the plug is pulled you fool.

Whereas we have gone nowhere but backwards when you take the DEBT back out of the equation…..dangerously backwards while China is buying up our assets….

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            well said….bullseye !.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

All based on DEBT we have not gone anywhere but backwards….we are in deeper DEBT than 2008….

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Debt has its place. For instance, people take out mortgages. The question is what are we doing with our debt. It does seem that the government should do more to limit debt as it has started to exceed the GDP.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Ha ah lol the gov should do more to limit DEPT……are you on stage at a COMEDY SHOW…….

You just cant GET IT the gov is the problem !…..the establishment POLITICIANS dem and repub have sold out their own country. They are traitors !

All for New World Order…..and to accomplish this the USA must go down. That is their plan…..

        • Rorschach

The troll makes a fool of himself. “Unemployment is low. Inflation is tame. Stocks have been great”. Keep singing that song all the way to camp fema.

        • Mark

The difference is we are becoming more globalized while accumulating more debt with nothing to back it up. Also, remember the banks have 100s of trillions of derivatives invested in risky assets with nothing to back them up. We have a credit & debt crisis and an employment problem that is getting worse. Many other problems which will make this much worse when the domestic and global economies crash. These figures were not around during regular economic cycles and the Fed/Treasury debt manipulating markets make this a false recovery.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Derivatives is the BLACK HOLE the doom star and it is headed our way……

          • Mark

            Yup..Absolutely

        • CASTIEL

When you run out of weed and fall to reality maybe the party dont go on anymore.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

All based on DEBT…..the USA banking system is insolvent…..

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

America is a land of many assets.. some tangible, some not. Banks may fail, but assets will remain.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Sorry you cannot grasp the depth of the plan to bring America to her knees…..this is a plan over 100 years in the making. The Fed Reserve Act of 1913 was the starting gun……

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Yeah, yeah.. repent the end of the world is near.. go wear the sign and ring the bell

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The end of the world is not near but the End of The USA is……and the goal of New World Order over 100 years in the making will be accomplished.

It is not We The People anymore but ” We The Stupid ” if we are to believe the establishment elite traitors lies, charts, and just plain BS…..

Thanks to TRUMP who speaks the truth the ELITES are crapping in their pants….and when TRUMP gets elected HILLARY THE HAG is going to jail whether its emails or BENGHAZI take your pick.

          • Mondobeyondo

I don’t think Trump is going to make it to the White House. And if he does, TPTB will make sure his residency there will be very short. Either by impeachment, or… by other means.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            Hillary will win

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

If this was still a country under the Constitution Hillary the Hag would be under indictment for either/both Benghazi or the national security breach with the emails…..

VOTE TRUMP put Hillary the BENGHAZI MURDERER of our Ambassador and 4 Marines where she belongs FED PENITENTIARY

      • MeMadMax

The printing money part is actually only a chunk of the equation.

The fact that the dollar is the worlds’ currency is the de-facto reason we are not the Weimar Republic.

All it takes is for saudi arabia to declare that they will sell oil in some other currency(along with OPEC) and it will literally cause a chain reaction that will destroy the world… Literally, no joke, no theory behind this.

The whole world is literally at the mercy of how one country sells its oil…

        • Steeve Girard

In other words, decouple the US dollar from the energy sector.

          • MeMadMax

            Technically, yes.
There are stopgap measures like messing around with the interest rates and such, but it would be the equivalent of the titanic hitting an iceburg. No one but the people in the know would be able to grasp the importance of saudi arabia abandoning the dollar… the news would be like a passing segment on the 5 o’clock news until the rest of the countries that use the dollar for oil follow suit.. the dollars’ value drops like a rock(because the dollar comes home, causing inflation)… causing the economy to crash, and only then it makes the news because it affects everyone as businesses fold and people lose their jobs. After that is when the whole thing starts to feed on itself. Our already vulnerable water and power infrastructure will begin to collapse(particularly power after years of being hammered by the current regime) and then the end.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

What you seem unaware of is the fact that the Dollar, the Nation, and Economies don’t exist in a vacuum. They are interdependent. If our dollar drops, other currencies drop and it becomes an equivalence and trading game. People lose their jobs and become broke all the time. That’s not new.
The world wouldn’t stop,.. It would Reproportion.
But you still haven’t stated why Saudi Arabia, a trading and military alliance of ours, would want to pull such a stunt.
You are just parroting the other Financial Lamers and Fear Mongerers out there without understanding what you are saying.

          • MeMadMax

Russia has the most millionares in the world. I don’t think they are dependent on us right???
China is running around securing trade deals with countries all over the world while buying our businesses and property en-mass… Don’t think they are dependent on us right? Most asian countries also do more trade with china than with us. The EU does most of its trade with russia.
The ones that are most dependent on us is canada and mexico…

Saudi arabia is not dependent on us because most of their oil goes to the EU.
So it’s really no big deal if they switch to the euro for example. In fact it would be a couple of mouse clicks and away they go…

We get most of our oil from Canada, 50% to be exact. So if the middle east drops out of our trade, brazil would be happy along with north dakota as they would take up the slack…

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Great post………..

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Do you know what the living standards are really like for the average Russian and Chinese person?
The Saudis depend on us militarily as well as for trade. Do you know what low oil has been doing to the Saudi economy?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Just pathetic… please go back to the bar !.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            I haven’t been to a bar in a year and a half.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The bar probably had to close up…

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Thats the first intelligent post you have made…..Bravissimo !

You still need the bridge get hoofing….

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

You people don’t want to listen to reason about resources, gdp, trade, debt, on a total national, per capita, and world level. You’ve myopically made up your mind that America is just going to collapse, and it just isn’t that way.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Its doomday mathematics and not by accident but by DESIGN….for NWO.

Trump will try to avert this but I dont think this can be stopped…..

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

If Saudi Arabia pushed for that, I will venture to guess that OPEC as we know it would disband.. likely with Kuwait, Venezuala, and Ecuador first. There would be a tumultuous realignment of alliances. I don’t think anyone would want that tumult… and that’s why..
          IT AIN’T HAPPENING.

          • MeMadMax

            Not quite.
They would All turn to an alternate currency if one was ready for use, and at the saudi’s direction. And the scenario has been played since the 70’s… Thats why we have the strategic oil reserve and bomb countries that threaten to leave the dollar. Libia is one of many examples…

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

As Kuwait trusts in us militarily, and the others trust in us for trade reasons primarily, OPEC wouldn’t want to disband. There ARE vast other resources for oil, and OPEC knows that. Even with a declined dollar, we could call upon the other resources which would throw off the remaining OPEC nation economies.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Lack of understanding of the collapsing dollar…………

          • Steeve Girard

Tell that to D**k Fuld, the too big to fail can fail.

          • K2

If saudi dumps the dollar, regime change will happen over there within a day. Hence saudi wont dump.

          • Steeve Girard

No, I think the regime will survive, the new King of the Saudis does not have the western world in his heart, and that favors him in the eyes of the fundamentalist Wahabites.

          • K2

Even though he doesnt have the west in his heart, the west cares more about the dollar being pegged to saudi oil. As long it stays like this the saudi regime is safe. If depeg happens the regime will be gone.

          • Steeve Girard

No, they can count on China.

          • K2

No they cannot. US has a large regime change budget, manpower, experience and better tech. More than what china has to protect it.

          • Steeve Girard

All of that is meaningless in face of numbers and population. all wars have been won by the most biggest and dedicated populations.
            .
The US population is having a huge problem with the dedication part, and that hurts them pretty bad.

          • K2

Lol so you are saying US and china will go to war over saudi regime?

          • Steeve Girard

            It is a possible scenario.

          • K2

            Its an impossible scenario.

          • Steeve Girard

All we can do is wait and see.

          • K2

Not going to happen as both are large nuclear powers. Also US can do regime change in china too, if china decides to go to war with US.

          • Steeve Girard

There is nothing to say… all we can do is wait and see.

          • K2

            Wait and see what?

          • Rorschach

            How much you troll K2.

To be simplistic, If you have a bunch of people with no calculator and one with a calculator, who gets the complex equations solved quicker.. Does the crowd effect make a difference?

          • Steeve Girard

It does as long it is not crippled. With the complexity of technology today, crippling it is very easy. Just ask a hacker.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

WRONG did you ever hear of a country called Israel……
            Shalom

          • Steeve Girard

I said dedicated… the jews were dedicated during the Yum Kippour.

          • MeMadMax

Don’t be so sure, there are a number of reasons why that won’t happen.
Saudi has mecca. The “white house” of the muslim world. None of the various branches of the muslim religion want anything to happen to that place, not even the Iranians, sworn enemy of saudi.
Saudi is 90% Sunni muslim. These are the fanatics of wahabbism. The saudi kingdom has repeatedly demostrated that it can quell the minority branches of the muslim world like the shias living in saudi.
Saudi has openly said they are shopping for a couple of nukes. Looks like India is more than happy to sell as well, that we know of that is…
The EU is heavily dependent on saudi/middle east oil(Not US, we are dependent on Canada for 50%). What saudi says, saudi gets. If saudi wants the dollar replaced as oil currency, the EU will say “OK” and away it goes, and it’s in their best interests as well cause it gives them a chance to move in with the Euro…

          • K2

So what if saudi has mecca, regime change has got nothing to do with it, it wont affect mecca in any way. And what makes you think india will give nukes to saudi, because the indian PM and saudi king took a picture together? Saudi funds terror against india, india knows it and will never give nukes to saudi. And even if EU says okay whic i doubt it will, saudi doesnt have the balls to replace dollar with euro because of the above mentioned regime change possibility.

          • Steeve Girard

Maybe it will happen, as cheap oil gets more scarce. Most of the OPEC countries lied about their proven reserves.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

That’s a Canadian fantasy you have there.

          • Steeve Girard

We will have to sit on the bench and wait to see how it unfolds.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

That’s a lot of bench sitting.. see ya.

          • Steeve Girard

No. The question still remains, she and we lack the crucial pieces to know how it will truly happens. I have to agree on that.

          • Rorschach

No you don’t lack the crucial pieces to know how it will happen. Just look at Iran as a precedent and how they have moved away from selling oil in USD and are moving towards the Yen. The crucial pieces are there you just have to look for it.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Iran did that for political reasons. They are not buddy-buddy w/the USA unlike the Saudis who have some alliance.

A new world monetary system is being set up right now which will completely kill the US dollar which is the worlds reserve currency.

23 countries ( which represents 60% of the worlds GDP) are now setting up swap lines which bypass the dollar and SWIFT which is the dollar based worldwide financial transaction system.

These countries include Russia, China, India, and even Germany, France, and Great Britain.

Once the new system is in place all those dollars in foreign accounts will come home and annihilate our monetary system.

Lastly China has announced that it will not be purchasing anymore of our debt

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

BarkingBill, you should use quotes when displaying other people’s writings word for word.. Nobody likes a Plagiarist.
Our 2011-2015 GDP has been very high compared to other large nations. 54k plus per capita vs China’s 7.6k,12.7k Russia, 50k Canada,1.5k India, though Australia 62k and a number of smaller countries have exceeded us.
If our currency resets, other nation’s assets reset as well. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere,.. The world won’t stop.. it will just Reproportion. There’s no reason to believe that we won’t remain a powerful trade and economic force.

      • dlewenz

just think how bad it would have been without the 10 trillion of printed money spent on government programs that made its way into the private sector since 2009-2016.

        • Mark

No. Government/Keynesian theories and spending never works. In the long run this deficit spending will make things worse. Giving people free stuff and bailing businesses will never improve economic conditions on the long run.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

That’s like saying loans never have any advantages or benefits.. but they can.

          • Mark

Not when it destroys your debt to asset ratios. There is nothing wrong with lending as long as the currency is backed and you do not print what you cannot back. We and other nations have printed more than we actually have in assets. This never works out in the long run and will fail. Read your history…. during the Great Depression John Keynese and Keynesian methods were used which kept us in a deep recession until after WWII…Not good.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            YUP well said……..

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

          • Mark

Absolutely, you understand the logic. I’m glad to see at least someone on this blog with common sense.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

The money did not go to Main Street it went to the banks and around the world.

But the DEBT went to the American taxpayer….

      • Ginger

My understanding is that they had to slow down the printing of money since 2014 because they had about reached their peak, and that’s why things are getting worse. For the people who try to defend this “faux” system, they need to explain why if things have been going so well, why Obama had to raise the debt ceiling twice, and why we are now approaching $20 trillion in debt with no end in sight until 2017 when the debt ceiling is reached again. America is technically broke. So explain to me how we are in recovery.

    • alan

Some people think of a collapse as everything is OK today then tomorrow the sun doesn’t come up. This collapse is a grinding slow motion event.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

At the same time, if you work in the medical field outside of the lowest eschelons, you are probably pondering your newer and nicer McMansion.

    • sistersoldier

Your perspective is very close to home in that so many are experiencing “personal” collapse(s) due to the systemic reaches of our failed monetary policies. I think that the scenarios you have listed puts a face (a neighbor, sister, friend) of real people and their pain in the forefront of our problems. Those stories so often ignored are the greater issues and it is what our officials should own up to – not in trying to fix what is already broken – but rather implementing proven fiscal responsible policies that are beneficial to all. Thanks for the reality check.

  • piccadillybabe

Some of the stores cannot make payroll due to the fact that inventory is based on sales and if sales are down, they are not making enough to hire people to stock shelves. How could this be happening at the Dollar Tree? It’s my go to place for just about everything. It won’t be long and people will be working for free and we will be paying the banks to keep our money like in Denmark.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

Are you saying that there are Dollar Trees struggling around you?
Well you know, even larger stores, like McDonalds, have to trim back certain stores because they just aren’t performing. It can simply be a matter of area demographics and demand changing. While some, like Michael, will paint that as signs of a national calamity or company collapse, it is just good business to trim back.. like trimming back a plant for better growth.

      • Rorschach

Like you would know anything about running a business Sunny or even about practical economics.

We had free Healthcare, welfare, ssi….. now looks like we’ll have a few years of free work.

And don’t forget the free stimulus check and Cash for Clunkers – although that was more the Bush administration than Obama’s…

  • CASTIEL

One thing that a lot people dont see is if even big companies have profit at a certain time….those by advances of technology they employ less people over the years….and that includes the sector of agriculture industry…almost everything….we are 7 bilions in this planet and still increasing….Theres no jobs for everybody……like Spain 25 % of unemployment…these people are suported by the government that increases the debt each year…then they ask for loans for the UE increasing the austerity until the country implodes…..if a country falls those big companies will fall too….For a good economy there must be jobs to those who want work..if they dont work they dont buy and companies dont sell…But governments are controlled by these big companies who only think in profit …they are so blind by the money that they dont see that they are destroying themselves and everything ….This decline will bring war…..chaos…. its just a question of time….and to those who says that everything is great and nothing to worry about…you have the same guilt as the elites and governments…noy by greed but by stupidity.

    • Fiona

I bsolutely agree as these could be just mine words.

And Spain is flooded with “undocumented” people from North Africa. Obviously if they can afford these millions of “New Spanish Voters”, then they really don’t have an economic problem

  • Jazz

Things can’t be too bad. JNK is back above $35. According to Michael that was what decided if the economy was in good shape or bad. Looks like things are on the mend with JNK back above $35. Woo hoo let the good times continue to roll!

    • ONE WHO KNOWS

You are either naive, extremely young, or delusional.

      • Mr. Cipher

        Or he’s a Troll.

        • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Why would Jazz be considered naive, extremely young, delusional or a troll when he is just reminding you of what Michael said on December 14th of 2015 which was…………

“Since the end of 2009, a high yield bond ETF that I watch very closely
known as JNK has been trading in a range between 36 and 42. I have been
waiting all this time for it to dip below 35, because I knew that would
be a sign that the next major financial crisis was imminent.”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

2 years later different signs….there are always reasons…..but there are many other signs that we are in a slow motion financial avalanche.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

You are probably right “slow motion” and “different signs”

That being said, it might be a good idea to refrain from issuing A RED (you know what) for the last 6 months of 2015.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

what is your prob with red

          • Jazz

Red is the new green. Just don’t run red lights…..

          • Rorschach

Jazz you should run as many red lights as you can and try and win that Darwin award.

          • Jazz

Yet if you leave a condition red for years you will eventually be right as business and economic cycles ebb and flow. Brilliant! Then you can go back and say you called the stock market crash of 2022. Lol. Stocks have years before they crash!

          • Mike Smithy

Many of the businesses are using non-GAAP voodoo tricks to mask their viability. As a result, you cannot trust the company prospectus. In the new normal, it is nearly impossible for an investor to make sound investment decisions when they are cooking the books at every level. The only winning move is to not play the game.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Wasn’t what you are saying true when Mike made that statement?

          • Jazz

JNK invests in the high yield credit market. According to Mike when it’s above $35 it’s safe and when below we are in danger. He didn’t put a disclaimer that wait this company uses GAAP earnings and this one uses non-GAAP so my barometer doesn’t work anymore. He monitors that market every day as a way to gauge if danger is imminent. Right now, danger is low because JNK is above $35.

          • Jazz

Yes and JNK has steadily been rising over the past few months so if we use even Michael’s own words, one must admit things are improving! I guess if you don’t like the score of the game, you change the rules along the way?

          • Rorschach

Obviously you are too dimwitted and too stupid to realize who Jazz is and his trolling history.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Maybe, but I am not to dimwitted and too stupid to realize that you (Rorschach) are dimwitted and too stupid.

          • Rorschach

“People have blind faith in politicians and central banks.” I agree with you, that seems to be true. But think on it a moment. Could you come up with a more frightening example. Of how out of touch, these people have to be.

  • Fiona

What do you think will trigger the end of the current economic system?
Will it be a bank crash? Will it be a major Wallstreet bubble that bursts? What about World War 3? Or will it be other countries, no longer accepting the dollar? Or is there even another trigger? Which Scenario is your favourite, Michael?

Race Riots this summer when all 3 “American” Tribes realize it’s over.

Then, the Municipal Bond Market will collapse for all large US Cities.

Then fear about going out at night will collapse restaurants and theaters.

And, finally, the Race Riots at the Republican Convention will require “States of Emergency” with the government going for a “gun ban” to keep peace. This is why guns & ammo sales are going through the roof.

Well, since 1969, when I started reading my dad’s subscription to the John Birch Society, and Spotlight Magazine, and then having read “None Dare Call It Treason” (by Gary North), I have been aware of what is coming. Then, I bought and read All of Anthony Sutton’s books and got my own First Edition, Hard Copy, Signed of “The Dispossessed Majority”. Then after listening and being fascinated by George Wallace, and experiencing his attempted murder……..I knew, then, what is coming…….do you? Having done YEARS of reading from the research of Henry Ford, to the history of the Rothschild Family and the secret meeting on Jekyll Island, Georgia……..I am nobody’s fool…..are you?

THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON

      BY RUDYARD KIPLING

IT WAS NOT PART OF THEIR BLOOD,
IT CAME TO THEM VERY LATE
WITH LONG ARREARS TO MAKE GOOD,
WHEN THE SAXONS BEGAN TO HATE

      THEY WERE NOT EASILY MOVED
      THEY WERE ICY-WILLING TO WAIT
TILL EVERY COUNT SHOULD BE PROVED
ERE THE SAXONS BEGAN TO HATE

THEIR VOICES WERE EVEN AND LOW
THEIR EYES WERE LEVEL AND STRAIGHT
THERE WAS NEITHER SIGN NOR SHOW
WHEN THE SAXONS BEGAN TO HATE

IT WAS NOT PREACHED TO THE CROWD
IT WAS NOT TAUGHT BY THE STATE
      NO MAN SPOKE IT ALOUD
WHEN THE SAXONS BEGAN TO HATE

      IT WAS NOT SUDDENLY BRED
      IT WILL NOT SWIFTLY ABATE
      THROUGH THE CHILLED YEARS AHEAD
WHEN TIME SHALL COUNT FROM THE DATE
THAT THE SAXONS BEGAN TO HATE.

Sometimes I think my family and I have gone through some tough financial times in the recent past to help prepare us for what’s to come. Three out of the past twelve years we lived on about $8K a year. Between layoffs and not being able to find work we cut, split and sold firewood, hauled off and sold scrap metal, mowed lawns and I did odd welding jobs at home, etc.. It was tough, but we made it through. We’ve also received a little financial help from others at times………. and we’ve in turn helped others financially when we were doing better and they were in need. Times are tough and are going to get worse soon the way things are looking. We’re looking to God as our ultimate hope and thankful for His mercies… and also thankful for the kindness of others in family and friends.

      • Guest

Seriously?? You’ve got to be kidding…

So you’re telling me a mythological god makes the lives of “every single believer” prosperous and happy? Now that sounds, as they say, too good to be true.

        Cute story though

      • mtntrek3

Hmmm….. never heard of ODIN. ………. Well…. God never promises His people all that we want in this world. Our needs will be met; and along the way things can sometimes get very rough financially and otherwise. As I said in an earlier post…… it is H-ll to be poor or nearly so in earthly terms. Nothing pleasant about it. However w/hope in God we as Christians look forward to our eternal heavenly home when we leave this world. Jesus himself didn’t have a place to lay his head while here among other things, and the disciples went through much suffering of different kinds while performing their ministries for Christ also. Some people God chooses to bless w/ much money and things of this world, some not. It’s His decision. Even though things may get rough in this world following Christ and His Father……. I will stick w/ the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, The Great I Am. Chris.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

WOW…..you are an Outstanding Brother in Christ…..a soul enriching post !.

          • mtntrek3

Hey Bill. I’m just a sinner that’s been saved by the grace of God. God’s the outstanding One. I’m fortunate He’s had mercy on me and still does daily. Take care brother. 🙂

          • mtntrek3

Hey brother…… you know what verse(s) in particular give me hope? In Romans 7:7-25 where Paul admits to his own failings and sin, even though he was truly a great man of God. ” The things I should do I don’t do……. and the things I shouldn’t do……. those are the things I find myself doing. What a wretched man I am. Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” That’s somewhat paraphrased (not an exact quote), but even Paul, one of the truly great men of God admitted to his struggle with sinfulness. That gives me hope that even as I struggle w/ sinful acts that occur in my life, I (we) still have hope through Christ’s sacrifice for us. God’s mercy is great. 🙂 Take care again, God Bless. Chris.

Some say that was his before his regeneration. Some say after.
Some say both before and after regeneration.

I am convinced that the ladder is the better and not only that we work out what He works in according to His good pleasure, causes all things to work together for our good because we trust Him and seek Him.

Remember, you chose Him because He chose you first, and He will present us to Himself holy and blameless.
Have time with the Lord everyday. Christian need to be anchored to the leading of the Spirit. Confession everyday.

            One day we are here,
            the next we are

          • mtntrek3

Yes, I need more maturity in Christ. I tend to look at what is going on in this world too much and let it bother me more than I should. Paul himself at times despaired of life in this world w/all he had to endure. Of course he really went through some horrible times and suffering…. more than most of us will know. Yet he maintained his faith in God and carried on. God also gave him some visions of the next life to help encourage him when he was really down. Christ always emphasized the eternal and for obvious reasons. It can be hard for us only knowing things of this world not to become obsessed w/it and it’s problems. But of course that goes back to how much time we spend w/ Christ and how close of a walk we have w/ HIm. Yes, there are good times in life in this world along w/the bad……. and yes, our focus should be on our eternity w/God one day and what we can do for Him now. I need a closer walk w/ Him ……. and if there’s anything to brag about in my life, it’s God that is to be praised, not me. This sinner that’s been shown God’s forgiveness is very thankful indeed. God Bless & take care.

I went to a Gun Show here in Florida last Saturday.

I asked the vendors how business was? They are selling guns, especially revolvers, as fast as they can. One has to fill out those stupid forms for a “background” check, and the backlog, time, etc is HORRIFIC. The Feds can’t keep up.

I have a concealed weapons permit and can take home my GUNS and ammo that very same day, and I do. My wife thinks I am crazy with my arsenal, but when I tell her all these rounds of ammo will be worth MORE than money in 6 months…..she shuts up. Thanks to me, she has stock-piled toilet paper, tampons, band-aides, etc. It pays to THINK like a man.

Of course, an “undocumented ISIS immigrant” who just came across the Southern Border has no “background” check, and carries his own AK-47/ 7.62 x 39 rounds. He doesn’t fill out some BS form……

These “tin foil nut cases” think this will trigger martial law and permit a “temporary” dictatorship, to insure peace, which will follow with unbiased, neutral UN peace keepers coming to America, to insure peace and order…………Meanwhile, gun stores have to be closed, to keep peace, but liquor stores will remain open since we American are “free”………while banks are “temporarily closed” for peace….and the people are so damned scared they give up and let the government take care of EVERYTHING. Welcome to America’s First Reich, as planned 200 years ago.

Do you think there is a chance we might some how make it 7 months? Conversely is there a chance we only make it 5 months?

Thanks in advance for your insight and wisdom.

I guess these people who blurb all over the Internet what they have stored, etc. have not realized they will be the first target if something terrible happens in their towns, such as a nasty storm, etc. and people aren’t able to get what they need from stores. His “wisdom” may end up putting his family in jeopardy.

I love the wall street bankers/investors/whatever you want to call them. The article; “US earnings still lousy, but shows signs of life.” Crap covered with icing. MMMM!! I believe it. (sarcasm)
People don’t care as long as there is football, basketball, baseball and alcohol.
You write your congressman, a form letter comes back. They do not listen. Don’t even care what you have to say. And the politicians wonder why people want guns.
Now, Russia is pricing their oil in Rubles. Slowly getting away from the US Dollar. I talk to people at work about this….. deer in the headlights look! They do not understand or don’t care as long as their team gets a number one draft pick. I just don’t get it. A great country like the USA and it doesn’t make a dent in peoples lives what freedoms they are losing.

    • ONE WHO KNOWS

Great thoughts. These will be the same folks who will suffer and then wonder how all of this could’ve happened in the first place. What’s that saying? Can’t see the forest for the trees.

…if the American is doing so poorly, why is Government Motors selling so many cars?….unemployed people, can’t afford to purchase automobiles, and NO bank will loan money to the unemployed!…I just don’t get it!
    …..please explain….!

    • ONE WHO KNOWS

It’s a game. I was able to get a car and my credit was shot to hell. This is all a big GAME. The Powers To Be already know what’s in store for American’s. They’re just not sharing that information with the average person. So, take full responsibility for your life. Be led by the Higher Power. Not some man-made system.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

With your credit shot they get whats called an upfront reposession FEE …..and you are right its all a game to take down The USA

…what higher power?…Bill Maher (tv host and Cornell grad) has a blog that claims that Jesus Christ NEVER existed!

God, Himself. Is Your Higher Power. Place no other god before the Master.

Your correct answer should be ” I have no faith I do not believe in God ” for you have no way to disprove that God exists. I believe in God on Faith.

I also am a Biblical researcher.

Even the demons believe in God

          • Ex Tempus

….rejection of “Jesus Christ” (actually a phony name), is NOT the rejection of God! …Jesus NEVER existed, and “GOD” is some intelligent design of which we know NOTHING about!

Ex tempus..,..7 year loans, everyone can handle that can’t they?! (Sarcastic yet sadly truthful!)
Ya see its based on your ability to carry a monthly payment and when you stretch it out 2 more years and make it a 7 year loan and also combine that with record low interest rates then who can’t afford a new car!?!?

Even the broke McDonald’s and subway workers across the street from me just showed up with a new 2017 Honda Civic! I just shake my head…

it is neither doom and gloom or a positive sunny face. fact: Americans are having a harder time of paying their mortgage/rent, car payment, food, insurance, etc…. Most are good hardworking folks whose job/careers were outsourced overseas.
On September 11, 2001 terrorists “crashed planes into the 2wtc building causing extreme suffering to thousands of good folks who were busy working for a better life for themselves and their families. thousands died that day at the hands of terrorists.

During the most recent recession millions of good Americans suffered at the hands of economic terrorist who “crashed” the economy by outsourcing jobs, manipulating the stock market, causing millions to loose their retirement savings, homes, etc…

At times the biggest threats to the American people don’t always come from overseas, but from sources much closer to home!!

These ARE great times to buy new things! I would agree that its not the time for buying fancy new toys – but then again I don’t think it is ever that time. If you need something to be productive or new clothes or anything else, by buying now YOU will help the economy. Buying junk “toys” just distorts the whole economy. Prioritise buying on need rather than want. If there are bank defaults and money is frozen, then at least you will have assets that you can use to generate some income. You will earn some taxes for the government everyone makes use of the utilities, road, etc. If your hard earned money sits in a bank account, it wont do you any good if the government decides on a bail-in for the banks.

You forgot mention. If you owe any money to visa. They can and will seize all of your bank accounts, cars anything listed in your name.
This is why anyone can get a credit card.
Lastly, a great reason to own physical silver, then gold.

    • REALIST

credit card debt is “unsecured”. They can not attach any of your assets.
