12 Signs That Something Big Is Happening To The Earth’s Crust Under North And South America

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Earthquake Damage - Cracks In The Earth - Photo by Martin LuffWhy are fault lines and volcanoes all over North and South America suddenly waking up?  Are we moving into a time when major earthquakes and volcanic eruptions will become much more common?  For the past several decades, we have been extremely fortunate to have experienced a period of extremely low seismic activity along the west coast of the United States.  You see, the west coast lies right along the infamous Ring of Fire.  Approximately 75 percent of all the volcanoes in the world are on the Ring of Fire, and approximately 90 percent of all global earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire.  Scientists tell us that it is inevitable that “the Big One” will hit California someday, but people have gotten very apathetic about this because things have been so quiet out there for so many years.  Well, now it appears that things are changing in a big way – and not just along the California coast.  The following are 12 signs that something big is happening to the earth’s crust under North and South America…

#1 The 5.1 earthquake that shook Los Angeles on Friday was the worst earthquake that the city had seen in many years.

#2 Following that earthquake, there were more than 100 aftershocks.

#3 A 4.1 earthquake shook Los Angeles on Saturday.  Scientists are hoping that this earthquake swarm in southern California will end soon.

#4 Earlier this month, a 4.4 earthquake rattled Los Angeles so badly that it caused news anchors to dive under their desks.

#5 A 6.9 earthquake just off the coast of northern California in early March was the largest earthquake to hit the west coast of the United States since 2010.

#6 Up in Oregon, Mt. Hood recently experienced more than 100 earthquakes over the course of just a few days.

#7 During the past month, there have also been some other very unusual geologic events that have been happening up in Oregon

  • Two large landslides – one in the Columbia River Gorge dumped about 2,000 cubic yards of rock and debris on highway I84 just 3 miles west of the Hood River, and another blocked US30 near Portland.
  • Loud booms and ground shaking reported by people from Lincoln to Tillamook Counties; some reported hearing a rumble, as well (No earthquakes recorded by the USGS in the area at the time.)
  • A 20 ft. deep sinkhole swallowed a woman and her dog in her Portland backyard.

#8 A 4.8 earthquake rattled Yellowstone National Park on Sunday, and there have been at least 25 earthquakes at Yellowstone since Thursday.

#9 Scientists recently discovered that the Yellowstone supervolcano is now releasing far more helium gas than they had anticipated.

#10 Over the past month, there have been more than 130 earthquakes in the state of Oklahoma.  This is highly unusual.

#11 There have been several dozen earthquakes in Peru over the past month, including a 6.3 earthquake that made headlines all over the globe.

#12 Earlier this month, the northern coast of Chile was hit by more than 300 earthquakes in a seven day stretch.  41 of those earthquakes were stronger than magnitude 4.5.

Fortunately, the quake that hit Los Angeles on Friday did not cause too much lasting injury.  But it sure did shake people up.  The following is how the Los Angeles Times described the damage…

The quake, centered near La Habra, caused furniture to tumble, pictures to fall off walls and glass to break. Merchandise fell off store shelves, and there were reports of plate glass windows shattered.

In Brea, several people suffered minor injuries during a rock slide that overturned their car. Fullerton reported seven water main breaks. Carbon Canyon Road was closed.

Residents across Orange and Los Angeles counties and the Inland Empire reported swinging chandeliers, fireplaces dislodging from walls and lots of rattled nerves. The shake caused a rock slide in Carbon Canyon, causing a car to overturn, according to the Brea Police Department.

Why this particular earthquake is of such concern is because it occurred along the Puente Hills fault line.  According to one seismologist, this is the fault line that would be most likely to “eat L.A.”

Experts said that the earthquakes occurred on the Puente Hills thrust fault, which stretches from the San Gabriel Valley to downtown Los Angeles.

Last night’s quake was shallow, which ‘means the shaking is very concentrated in a small area,’ said Caltech seismologist Egill Hauksson.

Hauksson revealed that the earthquake was unusual because the 5.1 quake was preceded by the weaker foreshock.

Scientists such as Hauksson are very concerned about the Puente Hills fault because it runs directly under downtown Los Angeles.

This is the fault that could eat L.A.,’ seismologist Sue Hough told The LA Times in 2003.

The fact that this fault appears to be waking up is really bad news.

According to seismologists, a major earthquake along this fault line could cause hundreds of billions of dollars of damage

Video simulations of a rupture on the Puente Hills fault system show how energy from a quake could erupt and be funneled toward L.A.’s densest neighborhoods, with the strongest waves rippling to the west and south across the Los Angeles Basin.

According to estimates by the USGS and Southern California Earthquake Center, a massive quake on the Puente Hills fault could kill from 3,000 to 18,000 people and cause up to $250 billion in damage. Under this worst-case scenario, people in as many as three-quarters of a million households would be left homeless.

For years, we have watched as the rest of the Ring of Fire has been absolutely ravaged by major seismic events.

We all remember the earthquakes that caused the Indonesian tsunami of 2004 and the Japanese tsunami of 2011.

And the world mourned when major earthquakes devastated New Zealand, Chile, Peru, Japan and the Philippines.

Scientists assured us that it was only a matter of time before the west coast started to become seismically active again, and now it is happening.

If you live on the west coast, I hope that you will consider these things very carefully.

Just because the earth under your feet has been relatively quiet for a very long time does not mean that it will always be that way.

Something big appears to be happening to the earth’s crust, and you won’t want to be in the “danger zone” when things finally break loose.

  • Tatiana Covington

It’s all Obama’s fault (pun intentional)!

  • Maneb

    Obviously caused by global warming!!!!!

  • Tim

Last month there was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake here in South Carolina. It happened around 10:30 p.m. It woke me up, but I didn’t know what happened until the following morning when I heard about it on the radio. The earthquake was centered in Edgefield–about 80 miles from where I live–but it was felt in Georgia and North Carolina.

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

An earthquake like that in South Carolina is very unusual.

      • Donald Reid

Don’t forget that Charleston, SC has been virtually wiped off the map by an Earthquake. In 1886 a quake killed more than 100 people in Charleston and destroyed a large percentage of the city’s buildings.

        • Orange Jean

Was it the New Madrid fault? Now that one is in fact scary!

I was in DC a few years ago when a quake hit around that area, not far from the nuclear power plant that provides electricity to me. It was scarier than any of the 5 much larger ones I had been in in Southern California… because I happened to be at a military conference, was standing RIGHT below a huge chandelier at the time… and I assumed it was a bomb going off.

  • K

The ring of fire, and the resulting high cost of homeowners insurance. Are two of the main reasons, I will not join my sisters in Wa. state. They also live only about a one hour drive from that massive mudslide. No thanks, you can keep the west coast.

  • MeMadMax

I live in lost angeles(up north in van nuys thou)…

I hope the place gets flattened…

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

Do you hope to move away before it gets flattened?

    • Orange Jean

That’s pretty funny… I always called the place Lost Angeles myself!

    • Mondobeyondo

I like to call it “Lost Angels” myself.

    • Kim

it s easy to for people to say things like that when they aren’t in the danger zone.

  • James Hixson

It says in the Bible that earthquakes will increase in intensity and frequency in the last days, before Christ comes back. This one of the many signs mentioned.

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

      Very good point. 🙂

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age (Matthew Chapter 24)

      3 Now
as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately,
saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

      • GSOB

The natural disasters described by Matthew, Mark, and Luke in the Olivet Discourse pointed specifically to the coming of Jesus in judgment upon Jerusalem before that first-century generation passed away in A.D. 70.

        • Daystrom2012

Preterism nonsense. Another sign of the last of the last days.

          • GSOB

I know, ….if one believes that we are the terminal generation, ……realize that it can be very hurtful to an appetite for destruction to finally admit – it’s already fulfilled.

            Sensationalism sells in this world.

        • fieryhook

Just so you know my brother preterism is a false doctrine. I spent the last 5 years undoing the false teaching that was taught to my father concerning this heresy. I can disprove it in one sentence. Revelation says that the new heaven and earth have no sea. We still have a sea.

          • Neutrelazer

Neutrelazer Sory to wake you a little on this about the sea is doom from fukushina it all depend where you focus . Bon apetit

          • fieryhook

A doomed sea is still a sea. No sea in the new heaven and new earth. The Apostle Paul called those who teach heresies a cancer in the body.

          • GSOB

            No sea = no death.

          • Eddy

fieryhook, Think for just one second about what you are saying. Should the sea disappear, what effect would that have upon our weather ? Are you aware that the sea is the reason we havw eather in the first place ? Where do you get your rain fall and or snowfalls from ? No sea = no rain, no snow. Explain how we survive in such a World ?

          • fieryhook

Thanks eddy for the question. We have to remember that the climate in world is today is very different from pre-flood conditions. According to scripture, there was no rain ever before the flood, there were also no extreme seasons. The Earth was watered by morning dew and humidity in the air that condensed. There is absolutely no need for snow. I lived for 3 years in the tropics and did not die, actually such extreme temperatures do more harm than good. Who needs a hurricane, or a hail storm? There was a water vapor canopy over the Earth that caused a green house effect. Finally the Bible tells us that these conditions will exist in a new heaven and a new Earth, not this present one. Thanks again for your inquiry:)

          • forgivenman

Also, Jesus said that immediately following the tribulation of those days He would be seen coming in the clouds. He obviously did not immediately come after 70 AD showing that the tribulation he was speaking of was not 70 AD

          • GSOB

The destruction that fell upon Jerusalem in A.D. 70 was the Lord’s judgement against Israel.

This expression is not new. Many, many times God used the thought of being in clouds when He indicated He would come in judgment against a people.

          • Gay Veteran

no, the destruction of Jerusalem was the simple and predictable result of rebelling against the Roman Empire.

          • GSOB

That part is being fulfilled… that is, no more death, death = sea. Thanks to the restoration of all things to Christ through His Church.

            Revelation 21:1-2

            King James Version (KJV)

21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

          • Gay Veteran

amazing how many “false” doctrines you people come up with. so much for the unchanging word of god

          • GSOB

            B. B. Warfield,

You can also find strains of postmillennialism in the writings of the great English Baptist preacher of the 19th century, Charles Haddon Spurgeon.” –
            (The Reduction of Christianity)

      • Mudpie

Could apply to any year since A.D.

    • kevin

OK. Keep dreaming and waiting for that to happen. So since the bible was written how many earthquakes have happened? Think about that. The last days, the last days, every christian is just waiting and chomping at the bit for it. Thinking every natural disaster and event is it. But then it isn’t.

      • Mondobeyondo

There have always been earthquakes and tornadoes and blizzards, and stuff such as.

But never in the frequency and intensity that we see today.

Tsunamis that kill 200,000 people in east Asia?
Tornadoes that kill hundreds in the Great Plains and southeastern U.S.? This is unprecedented.

        • Gay Veteran

“…never in the frequency and intensity that we see today….”

          proof please

          • Jack of all trades

Information is more available today because of the internet and media outlets. How would people a 1000 miles away know that there was a tsunami coming?

          • HARLEYHOOCH

Homosexuals are proof. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah ???

          • Gay Veteran

sounds like someone has been drinking too much hooch (the kind with the lead in it)

        • GSOB

After A.D. 70, earthquakes no longer have the same prophetic significance.

          • Michael

Were did you read this in the Bible just curious, mine the KJV does not say this, unless you have one of these new bibles.

          • GSOB

As much as we might want to believe that we are the “rapture generation” or the “terminal generation” there is no statistical or biblical evidence to support such a contention.

          • Son of Liberty

There is significant biblical evidence we are the ‘terminal generation.’ The biggest biblical evidence that we are is what has NOT happened – Jesus has not returned in the clouds (Re 1:7), in the same manner in which the disciples saw him ascend into heaven (Acts 1:11), and this was not witnessed to by the entire world – “…every eye shall see Him” (Re 1:7). Also, since the best scholars conclude Revelation was written in/about 96 a.d. (not about 68 a.d.per preterism), the words of John the Revelator are STILL pro-phetic – they are yet to be fulfilled. There is to be a physical return of Jesus Christ. These words are not symbolic, spiritual, or metaphorical. It will happen, physically, bodily, in reality.

          • GSOB

            Revelation 1:7
Announces the theme of the book, which is not the second coming of Christ, but rather the coming of Christ in judgement upon Israel, in order to establish the Church as the new Kingdom.

          • Gay Veteran

put 9 Christians in a room with a bible verse and you get 10 different interpretations

          • GSOB

Why put them in a room?

          • Michael

I was talking about, you said that earth quakes have no significance any more since ad70 they have no more prophetic significance anymore, just wondering were it was that you read this in the Bible, I said nothing about the catching away of the church, the word rapture was never used in the Bible,

            Mathew 24:7 KJV
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

          • Gay Veteran

            earthquakes are natural occurrences

          • Michael

This verse also sounds very prophetic to me, maybe not to you, but to me it is.

            Revelation 16:18 KjV
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

          • GSOB

It was prophetic when it was written. It was fulfilled with the temple destruction, the ransacking of Jerusalem.

Christ came to bring the definitive earthquake, the great cosmic earthquake of the New Covenant.

This was also the message of the writer of Hebrews, comparing the covenant made a Sinai with the coming of the New Covenant – which would be established at the destruction of the Temple and the complete passing of the Old Covenant)

            Rev 16:18 is fulfilled.

          • Michael

            Mathew 24:1-14 KJV
1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Read verse 7 talks about the earth quake, also this is the apostles asking about when the end of the age is going to be.

            Revelation 16:15-19 KJV
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
17And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
18And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

This has not taken place yet because this is the end, the last vial read your Bible please.

Also it is said that Revelation was not written until 92ad after the destruction of the temple.

          • GSOB

It was written years before A.D. 70 and most of the Revelation has been fulfilled.

          • Michael

All I can say is you are lost, you are dropping the seven seals, the seven trumpets, the seven vials, chapter 16-18 that I already have shown you, chapter 20-22. I do not know what new age Bible you are reading, but I would get rid of it and pick up a King James version Bible. This is a Revelation that Jesus gave to John the reveler, I can not say that John the apostle and John the reveler are the same or not, but look at the name of the book Revelation.

          • Gay Veteran

indeed, but don’t confuse the zealots with facts

        • smoothoperator

We actually don’t know that, because accurate records were not really kept until this past century with the advances of science. This may just be a normal cycle that Earth goes through every few hundred or thousand years. We also just hear about this stuff a lot more too thanks to global media and the Internet.

      • dadelaw

Kevin, I’m with you all the way, my lad. But don’t waste your time on these people. They’re utterly demented and beyond hope. It’s very scary to inhabit the same planet with people like these. And these ones are pale in intensity compared with the other types in the Middle East and beyond. Think yourself lucky, my friend…

        • Sarcastic Spastic

Yes,of course it is an established fact that there is no almighty creator. The universe and all that is in it s all an accident. Simply one of those things that happens from time to time. Life constantly arises from non living matter that is itself highly ordered by pure chance. And the extreme fine tuning of the laws of physics are purely coincidental. The immense amount of encoded information in the genome required no encoder. How can anyone be so silly as to believe that there might be intelligence involved? We,the intellectuals, know better than to believe such nonsense. We are elevated above the ignorant uneducated common people.

          • Kelsey

My problem with it all is that while I believe that there was a creator for this universe I do not believe that this creator intervenes in it’s own creation.

The bible was created by men to pacify a portion of society that was uneducated and impoverished. What better way to make them passive but to promise them riches and mansions in heaven and eternal life?

No other book written appeals to the ego more than the bible and the satanic version of the bible. Both promise eternal riches and eternal life.

Yes the moral implications in the bible hold true but people know (at least most do) instinctively which behaviors and actions are right and wrong. We are all given something called a conscious and feel bad when we do something we know was not right (with exceptions for the socio-paths and morally depraved that also inhabit this planet).

You have a choice in life to do that which is good or that which is evil.

Of course there are many different self serving roads we choose and justify. The whole turning a blind eye to things that are immoral or can harm people.

Many choose this road because we have families to feed and bills to pay. Some just don’t care about the well being of other people as long as they are lining their own pockets.

These justifications only allow bad and evil things to continue and why you will never have peace and safety on this earth.

Not that I blame people for wanting security and blurring the line between good and evil. Right and wrong. It is just human nature.

The same way a defense attorney will try to defend and obviously guilty client (the Hailey Owens murder trial in MO is one that I can use as an example).

So to sum up yes I believe that something created this universe but no I do not believe that the bad things that happen are because of God. All bad things are the result of people and nature and just the way it is. Life is energy and so is nature. Sometimes that energy produces a good outcome other times something tragic.

          • Guest

The bad things that happen are because of SIN.

          • Kelsey

Call it SIN if you must but it is still a decision people make to do and act a specific way.

          • Guest

Yes, sin is a choice. I cannot argue with that.

          • GSOB

            Sin is a slave master

Kelsey you will be sadly disappointed when you see the lie you have believed to be the truth but hopefully not to late to realize it

          • Gay Veteran

            religion exists for 2 reasons:
            (1) man fears death,
            (2) as a means of social control (obey the king or you’ll go to h ell)

          • Michael

Homosexuality is a sin, also called an abomination it is sick, why do we not gather them all up and put them on an island like the British did with Australia, eventually because they can not reproduce they would be come extinct, I would have to say know, because satan is still there messing with the people minds that have not taken on the name of Jesus Christ, and there would be more people who fall under satan works and they would desire this sick abomination as well. Jesus is the only way, you will have pleasure for a season then comes judgement, and then the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

          • Gay Veteran

in other words: Homosexuality is a sin [which I don’t commit, so I enjoy condemning it and feeling smug and righteous like the Pharisees of old].

btw, do you condemn other violations of Leviticus with such fervor???

“…why do we not gather them all up and put them on an island….”

awwww, so a gulag is what you propose

“…eventually because they can not reproduce they would be come extinct….”

riiiight, like you hets wouldn’t continue to produce us

          • Michael

You say your not a homosexual, but you use the term in your name, read Romans chapter 1 verse 24-32, if you condone the sin your just as guilty as the sin, even if we wiped out all the homosexuals on the earth as of right now, we still would not get rid of satan, only Jesus can do that, so he would still be out there seeking whom he may devour, and there would still be homosexuals, because they fall under satins lies, whether our not you commit that abomination you still condone the sin, which make you a partaker of the sickness yourself, just wait and see then you will know the truth.

          • Gay Veteran

“You say your not a homosexual….”

when? and btw, bigots don’t get to determine how we label ourselves

the only sickness I see here is your bigotry and the desire to exterminate us

            Houghton Mifflin

One who is strongly partial to one’s own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

Well I would have to agree with you calling me a bigot, I believe Jesus words and I hold them true to my heart until death, you on the other hand like to mislead and mis-direct, you said you do not commit the abomination of homosexuality, but in your last comment sounds exactly like you are a homosexual, all I can say is read The Word of God, the Bible and you will know for sure were you stand with Jesus, I gave you a good starting place Romans chapter 1 verse 24-32, it will give you a good understanding of what is going to happen to people that commit this abomination, I feel sorry for you that you fell for satans handy work, when you are weak he will scoop you up, and destroy your salvation, homosexuals according to the Bible only have one place they go if they choose not to repent and that is the lowest hell. It is a bad thing to try to convince yourself that homosexuality is ok because it is sick, thank you for calling me a bigot, because that is what I am, a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

          • Gay Veteran

thanks for proving that there’s no arguing with a bigot

“…I believe Jesus words and I hold them true to my heart until death….”

            where did Jesus condemn gays?

“…why do we not gather them all up and put them on an island….”

only a psychopath could write something like that.

and man would you blow a gasket if I wrote “why do we not gather them Christians all up and put them on an island”

          • Michael

Ounce again you only quoted part of what I said to fit your status quo, what I said is, if you got rid of all the homosexuals, killed all the murders, killed all the rapist, killed all the pedophiles, killed everything out there that is bad and sick, the devil is still there seeking whom he may devour, so even though you got rid of all these other sicknesses and murders and all others, satan will still tempt people unto his falseness.

as far as Jesus condemning homosexuals, Jesus, God and The Lord are all the same, case in point,

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

verses 7 and 9 prove my point that Jesus is God.

what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah they burned with fire and brimstone because of what sin, they were sodomites, even Lots daughters were married and they were virgins, what did the men of the town want to do with the two angels, they wanted them for only one reason, so yes Jesus did condemn homosexuals, also Leviticus 18:22 its an abomination, same with Romans chapter 1 verses 24-32, Jesus wrote the Bible John chapter 1 verses 1-14 so even though is is not in red letters all the time its still his word, Jesus and God are the same, so yes Jesus did say homosexuals are an abomination, I hope this proves positive that in Jesus eyes the sin you commit is eternal unless you repent, more than a sin, but an abomination. As far as your psychopath what country kills 57 million of it population before they are even born that is a psychopath.

          • Gay Veteran

            Polly want a cracker?
            parroting those verses

          • Michael

Funny now your stuck told you Jesus condemned your nasty sin, keep badgering but according to The Word of God, that sin is hell bound.

God is the same now and forever, Sodom and Gomorra burned so will this nation for allowing this sickness into its borders.

Funny how you have nothing intelligent to say, now that I proved you wrong with The Word.

          • Gay Veteran

the worst bigot is the religious bigot. you use your “faith” to justify your evil

          • Gay Veteran

interesting how often the biggest anti-gay bigots are actually gay themselves

          • Gay Veteran

“…what country kills 57 million of it population before they are even born….”

and how many unwanted babies have YOU adopted?

            none? then STFU

          • Michael

None, not my responsibility, but they are committing murder by killing these babies, I see you justify everything.

          • Gay Veteran

typical anti-abortion zealot. you want to abolish abortion, impose a huge burden on the woman, and yet suffer no burden yourself. you use your patriarchal religion to turn women into slaves

          • Gay Veteran

“…if you got rid of all the homosexuals, killed all the murders, killed all the rapist, killed all the pedophiles….”

I just love how you slip in that moral equivalency, just like Ben Carson. Typical illogic of the religious bigot.

“…Jesus never changes always the same.”

and yet you Christians squabble over every verse of the bible

          • It’s the truth

There would no need to ‘exterminate’. Simply relocate all homosexuals to their own island and they would naturally die out within one generation due to the inability to reproduce. I’m not being bigoted. It’s a simple truth.

          • Gay Veteran

hey moron, where do you think homosexuals come from? heterosexuals!

          • It’s the truth

I am not an ‘ayatollah wannabe’ or a ‘moron’. I will not resort to calling you names as a substitute for valid argument. You have answered your own point without even realising that you have done so,by rightly saying that homosexuals come from heterosexuals. Exactly. They could never ever come from the union of two gays. It’s impossible. Defects abound though, and there are a variety of reasons why homosexual people have turned out that way. Perversion is certainly one factor. If you insist that heterosexuals are needed to produce homosexuals, then you are condemning yourself, admitting that if all were your kind then you couldn’t exist. Think about it: which is biologically correct? Penis, testes, semen. Combined with lubricating vagina, ovaries, egg and womb. Leading to reproduction. OR penis, testes, semen. Combined with dry anus, excrement, intestine, bowel. Leading to many serious health problems with discontinuation of the species. It’s not rocket science. It’s just the simple truth.

          • Gay Veteran

“I am not an ‘ayatollah wannabe’ or a ‘moron’….”

LOL, read again the BS you posted.

          • Gay Veteran

“…Defects abound though, and there are a variety of reasons why homosexual people have turned out that way….”

wow, sounding more like a fascist (German style) all the time. final solution anyone?

“…It’s not rocket science. It’s just the simple truth.”

            sorry Einstein, nature disagrees

          • Gay Veteran

yeah, it would just be a gulag.
tell you what, let’s put all you fundamentalist ayatollah wannabes on an island (gender segregated, of course)

          • Bruster6

Read “Lucifer’s Hammer” and see how well the homosexuals’ fared after that disaster…nobody wanted anything to do with them…nobody was concerned about how the curtains looked….just a story but, nonetheless….ya never know.

          • Gay Veteran

nothing like a disaster to bring out the evil in people.

“,,,nobody was concerned about how the curtains looked….”
            typical stereotyping

          • GSOB

Satan is bound for the time being.

Gay Veteran has time to repent.

If he does, you’d wish you’d acted towards him differently.

          • Michael

I do not know what imagination you have, but satan is not bound not until a thousand years of Christ reign is satan bound, could making things up and read the Bible, and as far as anything that I said to that man proves my point exactly that satan exist all sin is from the temptation of flesh or satan,

            Job 2

            King James Version (KJV)

2 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.

2 And the Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

satan surely is here tempting man he already swayed a third of the angels to his side, satan know he only has a short season,

            Revelation 20:1-3

            King James Version (KJV)

20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

do not preach what you think preach what The Word of God says.

I regret nothing that I said.

          • GSOB

            Okay then,

So if Satan is not bound now in any sense at all, then Christ does not reign in you just the same.

          • Michael

Man you sure know how to try to manipulate the scriptures. When you take on the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus through the Holy Ghost gives you power over satan, not you yourself, but Jesus that dwells inside of you.

            Revelation 12:12

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! forthe devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

See if you read the verses clearly satan is not bound yet, you live in the world satan is the prince of the air.

            Ephesians 2:1-3

            King James Version (KJV)

            2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

not until you take on the name of Jesus and are baptized in his name do you have power over satan death sickness and all other things that can come against you,

            Romans 8:6-8

            King James Version (KJV)

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

you must be born again of the water and the spirit or you can not go to heaven.

            John 3:3-6

            King James Version (KJV)

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

            John 14:26-28

            King James Version (KJV)

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

            separation between flesh and spirit.

          • GSOB

So the short short of what I think you are saying is that
Satan reigns invisibly on earth now – since he is not bound.
accordingly – Christ needs to bind Satan still, then come visibly back to set up His kingdom in order for Him to reign in this world?

Do I understand your eschatology correctly?

          • Michael

That’s not what I say that’s what the Bible says The Word of God, I will give you more scripture when I get home from church or later today.

          • GSOB

            You quoted Revelation 12:12

I think one of the most important points made in chapter 12 by John is that the dragon (Satan) persecutes the Church precisely because Christ defeated him.

Consider what John wrote in verse 13.

“And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.”

          • Michael

I am glad to see your seeing what the Bible says, the devil is not bound, he is either going between earth and Heaven, or is cast out of Heaven and is on the earth, either way he is not bound not until the millennial reign of Jesus Christ then he will be bound for a thousand years, but let loose for a short time until he is cast into the lake of fire, so to say he is bound is false.

            Revelation 12:12-13 (KJV)
12[Therefore rejoice, ] ye[ heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.] 13[And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man ] child[.]

          • GSOB

Before the incarnation of the Son of God, the nations walked in darkness.

The light of the world has come.

The truth sets us free and we can see.

Satan is bound in a limited sense. It is the truth of the Gospel and that Jesus Christ reigns now and forever – that he wants the world to be ignorant of.

          • Michael

I see you are finally getting what I have been trying to tell you this entire time, the only freedom is through Jesus Christ, that’s it, even after you are baptized with the water and the spirit, you can still be tempted, by satan or the flesh, you are wrong because you come across that satan has no power any more, at least that is what I have taken from what you have written, there is no ounce saved always saved, the power is through Jesus Christ, but every day is a fight. The people of the world are already under control of satan, the ones that are saved are under Jesus control, so a rightous man would be a trophy for the devil, every day is a fight, it is only easier ounce you take on the name of Jesus.

          • GSOB

            Thanks for your time.

            These parts of your reply…

“at least that is what I have taken from what you have written, there is no ounce saved always saved,”

“I see you are finally getting what I have been trying to tell you this entire time”

If there are no questions, again, thank you for your time.

          • Bruster6

But…According to the Bible, All men are given “free will”…..the question Gay Veteran is, do you “TRY” not to sin? In regards to the Bible, if you don’t…your point is moot in regards to religion.

          • Gay Veteran

sorry junior, but not even all Christians consider homosexuality to be a sin

          • It’s the truth

Not all ‘Christians’ are Christians. Merely having the label doesn’t prove the content.

          • Gay Veteran

          • Michael

The Bible says its a sin, Jesus burned down Sodom and Gomorra ounce already for the sin of homosexuality you do not think he is not going to do it again, there is no such thing as a Christian who thinks homosexuality is not a sin, they are not a Christian they are deceived.

          • Gay Veteran

“…there is no such thing as a Christian who thinks homosexuality is not a sin….”

says Pharisee Michael, because only “true” Christians will agree with Michael

          • Michael

We all have free will, I am just trying to tell you what The Word of Gods says, I am not your judge only Jesus is, we are supposed to judge by The Word, and The Word says that homosexuality is a sin whether you want to believe it or not, I am not a pharisee, and the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin, with out repentance the outcome is hell.

Let me even ask you one question do you even call yourself a Christian or do you just go around putting this label on for your name so you can cause arguments in an area were Christians are watching for end time signs, because if you call your self a Christian your shepard at the church you go to must not read the Bible, because he is leading many astray.

          • Gay Veteran

once again, the only “true” Christians are those that agree with you.
you people can’t agree on anything
and NO, I have never called myself a member of your cult

          • Michael

No not the one that agree with me, but the ones that do what Jesus tells them to do, a true Christian would tell you your sin is an abomination, a deceived Christian would not, a true Christian would do what the Bible says, you do not call yourself a Christian so you come on these sites to stir up problems, your a homosexual you believe not in Jesus, but you go onto sites were people are looking at the prophecies that are coming to pass, sounds like you are just an instigator, reap what you sow. Jesus is king and will always be king.

          • Gay Veteran

we all have a brain, so try using it sometime instead of parroting bible verses

          • Michael

The Bible is my life Jesus is my life, he told us through his Word that we would be hated for his name sake and the gospel, I guess things are true, you are upset because I quote the Bible, well amen to that, Jesus is king will always be whether you accept it or not, the time will come that you yourself will also bow down to Jesus as well.

          • Gay Veteran

“…he told us through his Word that we would be hated for his name sake….”
            self-pity isn’t pretty.
and btw, I don’t hate you, you’re not worth the effort

          • Michael

You have a strange thought pattern I do not want putty nor do I give pity, I rejoice because everything Jesus told the believer is coming to pass, I feel sorry for you that you do not get to experience what I do through Jesus Christ, the peace that Jesus gives is way better then any peace the world can give.

          • Gay Veteran

“…because everything Jesus told the believer is coming to pass…”

          • Michael

Just because you cannot see it does not mean it not happening all around you, you are on a site that discusses prophecy, makes me wonder why you are even looking at things on here, just to cause trouble.

          • Gay Veteran

prophecy? why don’t you throw down some chicken bones while you’re at it

          • Michael

That what you are talking about is witch craft that is a good way to get thrown in a lake of fire, just the same as the abomination of homosexuality, why do you keep trolling these blogs about prophecy, you must like to cause contention, reap what you sow.

          • Gay Veteran

            religion exists for 2 reasons:
            (1) man fears death,
            (2) as a means of social control (obey the king or you’ll go to h ell).
Nature gave you a brain, use it.

          • Michael

Jesus is the king of kings and lord of lords, Jesus gave me a brain, according to your own testimony, it seems like you believe in evolution, so something living came from something non-living, that is crazy then there would be a lot of living non-living entities, also all the Biblical evidence that has been found in earth, just have to exclude that, all the bones of giants have to exclude that, Noah’s ark have to exclude that, rock of Meribah have to exclude that, the Red Sea crossing have to exclude that, objects such as bells and necklaces found inside coal have to exclude that, that is just small things that prove Jesus was here is her and will always reign, but your camp chooses the worldly mind, pleasure for a season then comes judgement, you have to exclude a lot of things to deny Jesus, but since the mainstream media does not talk about that subject that must mean it does not exist, he who controls the information controls the masses, repent or you will be hell bound, not my words but what the Bible says.

          • Gay Veteran

            giants? ark?
yeah, and Jesus rode a dinosaur.
            evolution? happening today

          • Michael

Heres a few prophecies coming to pass right now,

            Luke 17:27-29

            King James Version (KJV)

27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

            28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

True Christians are ‘born again’ by the Spirit.

            Nominal believers are not.

Real Christians work through repentance and desire to be like Christ, cling to Christ and

a new creature, part of the new creation of God, anticipating the increase of His Kingdom, love the truth and eagerly await His return.

Faith, hope, and love remains as the elect are being transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, the unique Son of God. True believers are all sons of God.

            1 John 3:1
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.…

Our need is first of all –
Mercy and forgiveness and life! Knowledge of the Holy One is to know this eternal life, the life that is really life… the fullness of which is still yet to come.

And – ALL REAL CHRISTIANS believe in the biblical account of the global deluge.

Science does not claim that matter becomes organised by pure chance.
They claim that it becomes organised by the injection of energy that drives systems away from stability. And they have math to back it up.
A word of advice; before you repeat something that you’re told; check it.

          • Sarcastic Spastic

Aah yes. Of course,’the injection of energy’. From where??
            1. Science. Who are ‘they’ that claim it becomes organised? Scientists? A great many highly qualified scientists believe in a divine cause. Although that is not even that important.
            2. ‘The injection of energy’. Again, from where? Or what?
            3. ‘Math to back it up’. Check out the math of universal fine tuning. Or of the odds against the chance formation of a single protein.

          • neal

Over 100 million in the past century alone. Fundamentalist Atheists like Mao, Pol Pot and Stalin have killed far more people than theists. There are many atheists who dream of eugenics and exterminating most of the human race. Some dream of a planet without any people and encourage research on developing an Omega disease to wipe man out.
More than a few hide behind a comedic image of joking about the great spaghetti monster but are truly evil and want to be the last human alive.

          • jake

Atheism had nothing to do with Stalin, Mao, Hitler, etc These were people who had a mental illness and the things they did were done by people who followed and believed the rhetoric and lies they spoke.

NOTE: Without the compliance of the masses none of these things could have ever come to pass.

The generation who allowed and followed Stalin, Hitler and every other sick and psychotic disgrace of a human being are equally as responsible.

This is the gray area and blurred lines I believe another poster mentioned. People going along to get along. No matter how evil the deed. Heck some who went along with it probably were just freeing their inner demon…

          • neal

            You raise some interesting points.
Evil Deed. How can anything be evil with atheism? The concept of good/evil is either a divine construct (if there is a God) or the result of mans hubris (if there is no God).
Inner Demon. How can atheists even believe in inner demons, does that mean you believe that the Devil exists but not God?
If you want to claim that atheism had nothing to do with the murderous deeds of atheists then that also applies to fanatics burning heretics at the stake.
Atheism is ultimately just another dead end form of nihilism. At best you just get a speck of hedonistic pleasure in the infinity of time. No thanks, I’d rather take Pascals Wager.

          • davidbyrden

            >> “How can anything be evil with atheism?”
            Good question. Here’s how I see it;
In Atheism, “good” and “evil” are decided by people; us.
In Religion, “good” and “evil” are decided by people; the people who wrote the holy book.

There are many PSYCHOPATHS who dream of eugenics and exterminating most of the human race.

          • neal

No doubt many of them are psychopaths.
But psychopaths will often temper their actions if they believe that they will be caught and/or punished. Those psychopaths who fear divine retribution are less likely to become mass killers.
There was nothing holding back the atheist psychopaths like Pol Pot so you end up with the killing fields.
Also not all those who have dreams of exterminating mankind are clinical psychopaths, some are so enraptured with concepts like Gaia that they believe the planet should be purged.

          • stan

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

      • Drud

I usually try to avoid these types of threads (they are always so emotional and so full of ad-hominem posing as reason) but I just can’t help myself. First, let us start off by being able to admit that we are all agnostic in the entomological sense, what is, or can be, known as unequivocally true. Next, let’s move on to the religious devotees, the basic premise is this: a extremely vast and ancient cosmos was created by God with both purpose and fore-knowledge, making everything that occurs within that cosmos pre-destined and ultimately perfect. Fine, there is no way to disprove this (and honestly, I tend to lean this way more than any other), BUT, is it not the height of arrogance, even blasphemous, to presume that you not only understand what this being is doing with his cosmos, but why? Now, to the atheists like Dadelaw. So, you understand the cosmos? You have studied the Laws of Thermodynamics (0th, 1st, 2nd, yes there is a 0th) and fully understand all the repercussions of each, you also understand the precepts of both Special and General Relativity. as well as Quantum Mechanics, and most importantly of all, you know each of the four (or three) Fundamental Forces and upon what scales each of them act, and, of course, why there can be either three or four of them…and having understood all of this, and applying this knowledge to you the information your senses have gathered throughout your time in this existence and come to the absolute conclusion that the cosmos is a natural phenomenon that formed itself without cause 13.8 Billion years ago (although this number must give you some trouble with your understanding of General Relativity) and from that accidental starting point everything known came into being by random act alone. Great. you have done your research and determined the meaning of life (or more to the point the lack of meaning). Now, I am assuming that you have done all of this at least, which allows you to make such sweeping statements and allow you dismiss every religious person that has ever walked the Earth with impunity, and NOT you simply don’t like what some loudmouth religious “leaders” have said, and believe without question everything your favorite college professor said. Well, I suppose I am finally coming to a point: we don’t know, we can’t know. I have a great respect for science and art. I have a place in my life for deep Faith as well as a natural predisposition towards skepticism. I like the balance, in fact, I think it is critical. Ultimately, there are three points I would like everyone to reflect upon: 1) Whatever the truth of the Universe and existence, it is true for ALL of us, 2) Love, compassion and understanding for all, ever (and perhaps especially) for those who disagree with you is clearly the best path through this life and 3) Regardless of the cause, I truly believe we are in for dark times and the fight of a lifetime; we need some solidarity for those of us who believe in liberty, we need to form a cohesive union–without all the petty bickering and name-calling–to stand against those who would take it from us.

Seismic activity rises and lowers over time, and it always has. This just means we’re entering a new cycle of activity.

And truth be told, we’ve not been actively monitoring these events very long as a society (less than 100 years), so we really have no idea at this point if this is “normal” or not.

No. It says, “And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places.” It does not say anything about increase, intensity, or frequency.

It simply says that there will be earthquakes in various places.

At the time this was written the technology to record seismic activity did not exist. Our technology today allows us to record earthquakes all over the world. That does not mean that earthquakes have increased, are more intense, or are more frequent. Monitoring has simply allowed us to record a great deal of the seismic activity that previously may have never been felt or recorded.

The Bible describes the end times signs as being birth pains and, for a woman (mother earth if you even want to describe it that way), contractions get more intense as the arrival of the baby draws near. So, as the arrival of Christ draws nearer and nearer, the Earth will be in deeper travail with every passing day. Read the Bible before you comment please.

          • GSOB

            Technically speaking,
the thousand year kingdom, Rev. 20, started with the incarnation of the Son of God.

The principle of His redemption applied
            brings about the new
            creation as it begins
            flowing into history.

            Revelation captures
the change from the earthly tried & failed covenant to the victorious new one.

            New Creation =
New Covenant Christianity = New Jerusalem….
            coming down out of heaven.

            Why is John so closely
            linking the New Creation
            vision with what’s going on
in his day, 2000 years ago?

Look at Revelation 22:6 and verse 10. John’s use of ‘shortly be done’
in 10, ‘the time is at hand’.

            John is telling the reader
2000 years ago that the New Creation was coming and (his immediate readers) we’re witnessing it coming.

            Jesus is the dividing line
of history. Out with Old Covenant an in with the New.

            Since the first century,
            Christ is the temple for
God’s people, Him being the first, unique corner stone. His ‘body’ is the temple = the corporate bride of Christ, which is the Church.

You are the temple of the living God because the Spirit dwells in you, you are being sanctified therefore holy.

Revelation Chapter 21:22 Here, John does not see the physical temple that once stood since about 950 B.C. .
            No temple = why?

            The Lord God
            almighty and the lamb are
            it’s temple.

Much of the Revelation has been fulfilled.
            The Great Tribulation included.

Geologically we are overdue for something like this to happen.
I would be looking at volcanoes about now.
What is likely to happen is the grand Earthquake of historical time, probably somewhere around San Francisco. This will be followed by a huge steam valve in Yellowstone. Depending on how much water is involved, that could be the activation of one or more really big volcanoes.
There is nothing new about all of this. I suggest it is only a matter of time before it all comes about.
The real question is why is it happening now?
    What has disturbed the balance?
The only thing I know about that might disturb the balance is in Japan with the nuclear reactor.
But the North Pole has been moving more so than usual. That might upset the balance of things.
Some think we are overdue for a polarity change in the poles. Others look at Antarctica as a balance factor. If a really big glacier suddenly fell into the ocean, that might push the platelets into some really big earthquakes. But if that happen we won’t worry too much about earthquakes. The resulting ocean wave might travel across the entire planet.
Until someone comes up with a valid reason why these things are happening, we all just sit back and wait for it.
If I were on the West Coastline of the Americas I think I would be moving real soon to something just a little bit more secure.

    • bud

Let’s not forget about that HUGE nuclear furnace in the sky, the sun. I think it has a little more influence upon planet Earth than almost anything we could mention which originates here on Earth.

The earthquakes are a little rattling…

The bigger concern is multipliers. What happens when sizable earthquake hits followed by a tropical storm? The resulting civil angst and depression, loss of life, and possible pathogen outbreaks from loss of utilities… this is the issue.

    Preparation, persistence, and constant vigilance!

I have lived in SoCal most of my life and these quakes don’t bother me at all. If the west coast falls into the ocean it will most likely take about a third of the United States with it. I watch everything that goes on in the U.S. from the floods to the blizzards, the tornadoes, I don’t care where you live you can get destroyed by something!!

    • Orange Jean

You’re smart not to let it bother you…

The biggest faults in Southern CA won’t ever cause the west coast to fall into the ocean… that’s just some Hollywood nonsense that sells a lot of movies. The San Andreas, Newport-Inglewood, Elsinore and other major faults there are all slides that region all move in a north-south direction (I forget which way, but either you’re going to be closer to Canada or Mexico!) – not off into the ocean!

    • big e

I don’t know about that. Chicago seems pretty safe from any natural disasters…

  • EnditAll

These earthquakes are not all natural. They are being caused by fracking and by HAARP. Fracking quakes are shallow, and that is exactly what we are seeing in Oklahoma and So-Cal. The timing is also not coincidental. China’s economy is approaching free-fall, along with Russia and half of the world – a disaster is needed as a distraction, since this Malaysian plane thing is fizzling out now. One well-placed HAARP strike in an area already undermined by tracking will wreak absolute HAVOC, causing massive SINKHOLES miles in diameter. Now, get ready for the big one: FEMA is having another DRILL, for, you guessed it, a major EARTHQUAKE, on April 1 and 2 or something like that. Look it up. All of this at a time when people have been reporting hearing strange frequencies, similar to the lead up to Fukushima’s quake. I live in So-Cal and I have been preparing for many months. The SHTF moment is nearly upon us.

    • Syrin

Exactly. Read Dave Hodges about what he thinks they plan to do with HAARP tech and the SE US.

  • Gary Gibson

WAIT!! HOLD THE PRESSES! Add the 4.8 earthquake in Yellowstone at 6:34 MDT.

  • Orange Jean

I think this topic is more than a bit outside your area of expertise. You said: “For the past several decades, we have been extremely fortunate to have experienced a period of extremely low seismic activity along the west coast of the United States.” No,that is *not* extremely fortunate!

What happens in a seismically active area … if you have long periods with limited seismic activity, is there can be a major buildup of pressure which can result in much larger earthquake events. In a place like LA or Orange County, where there are many active faults… you are much less likely to have major earthquakes if there are smaller but frequent ones to let the pressure off the system. It’s kind of like the person who seems so calm, never gets upset, and then one day…blows their stack!

A misconception is to assume the most damaging earthquakes are always those with the highest number on the Riechter scale; what that refers to is just the amount of energy released by the event. If that occurs in a less populated area there may be very little damage. It’s the intensity scale that refers to the amount of damage that occurs, either in terms of deaths, injuries, or property damage. The extent of damage described from the recent earthquake in Brea just wasn’t all that bad (though it can be scary if you’ve never been in one).

The most hazardous earthquakes are either those that occur in a more populated area, especially those of longer duration (because that tends to weaken buildings and other structures more than a shorter hard jolt) – and being in places where the structures were not built to withstand the maximum credible earthquake…. or in places where you might have something like hazardous materials released, landslides triggered by ground shaking, liquefaction, etc.

In California (and true of many of the older communities around LA), they are required to identify and require retrofitting of buildings that are more vulnerable to damage (such as reinforced masonry buildings) if the community is in an area with known active faults… but the almighty dollar sometimes keeps that from happening.

And unfortunately the area where that slide occurred in WA was already known as a hazardous area, yet people continued to live there. We make our choices in life… but sometimes we got stuck with the consequences.

Just for the record, I know all this stuff because it happens to be what I focused on for my master’s thesis – natural hazards and research on deaths and injuries in high fatality
earthquakes. I also spent a number of years assessing earthquake hazards to communities mostly in Southern CA; I wrote the background info for updates of the Seismic Safety Element of the General Plans for a few of those places back around 30 years ago (Fullerton, for example). On the other hand… I do keep my eye on what’s going on in Yellowstone, because of the magma and volcano hazards there. Just sayin’!

I don’t hunt so I’m not sure about the rat in a can, but if that’s all I had to eat I’d take all their guts out first and skin em before boiling them. Like I’ve read you have to do with squirrels. Or turn into a vegan!!

I HAVE lived in a tent with a baby though.

Purify water, boil it at least 15 minutes (it would probably be good to distill it too, since you could pick up giardia in some places and get some nasty runs.)

Crap in a hole you put downhill from where you get your water to avoid contaminating your water source.

Enough said? Just because someone knows something they’ve studied … doesn’t necessarily mean they have no practical knowledge or common sense, ya know?

PS I did a bit of poking around various websites today, that I generally monitor (the USGS links); correct that that quake in La Habra/near Brea was a thrust fault (as opposed to one moving north-south), but it still doesn’t mean CA will fall off into the ocean. Might raise some mountains a wee bit though.

          • Orange Jean

Isn’t if one plate starts moving – the rest will correspond? You had some major activity in the Pacific regions last year, and all done frack free. So why wouldn’t the west coast start feeling some shaking? Hopefully it will limited to lots of little stuff that releases the pressure. If it comes a big one, I would venture the Atlantic plates will then have to respond.

  • 2Gary2

Yes low info conservatives-we need to tax the rich and spread the wealth to save capitalism.

Left to its own devices, wealth inevitably tends to concentrate in
capitalist economies. There is no “natural” mechanism inherent in the
structure of such economies for inhibiting, much less reversing, that
tendency. Only crises like war and depression, or political
interventions like taxation (which, to the upper classes, would be a
crisis), can do the trick. And Thomas Piketty has two centuries of data

What about the earthquake in Haiti? Did we not mourn that disaster?  We watched repeatedly the grim devastation on prime time news.  Dead bodies lined up…uncovered.  The dead partially covered by homes.  Decimated homes, businesses.  Besides the Sumatra quake/Tsunami…Haiti  also had some unforgettable (?) graphic in your face eathquake coverage.

We have relatives in Long Beach & I am afraid for them.  We want them to relocate but where.  We also live on a fault line on the southern east coast & had a mild 4.4 rumble a month ago.

The actions of the Federal Reserve, the federal government, the global banking cartel and the criminals on Wall Street pose a far greater threat to our continued survival than a fault in the earth’s crust.

    • Drud

Agreed with one small change: these things pose a “far more likely threat…” The Earth can perpetrate devastation on social and economic order on a scale the Fed could never dream of, but the chances of it happening in our lifetimes are very, very slim . . . the chances of a social/economic collapse as a result of the Fed/Wall Street/Shadow Govt (all the same entity really) in the next 2 decades: 100%.

  • Garry Upton

All are called to repent now and turn to God. No one here can claim ignorance – that they have not been offered the chance to accept Jesus as their savior. A fallen world claims, “there is no God; God is dead; God is asleep.” As we approach the End of Days, these calamities will increase in duration and intensity, not to punish, but to prove – He is real, alive, and active in our world. He is preparing to harvest the fields and put Satan, death, and even sin in a place where they can never get out. He will destroy this corrupted place and build us a new one. But first, he will give every living person, every possible chance to turn from their wicked ways and accept his free gift. These things were prophesied about thousands of years ago, and you will see them fulfilled before your eyes. You will be forced to make a real, active choice about whom you will serve.

  • Kim

Michael, thank u for deleting some of the inappropriate comments.

When I lived in L.A. folks used to say the city could withstand a big quake due to strict construction codes and regulations. But if a moderate 5.1 can displace dozens of people and cause a mess like that, think what a 9.0 would do.

As for the prophecy, it has been my understanding that it isn’t so much the intensity of the earthquakes, but the frequency of them. The way I understand it is there would be earthquakes in one place after another. That said, I suppose not just any sort of earthquake would be noteworthy unless it were large enough to adversely effect populated areas. Nevertheless, earthquakes however large or small, were foretold by the founder of Christianity, our lord Jesus, combined with the other signs, to form a comprehensive sign of the last days of this system. We know what is coming.

    • Gay Veteran

earthquakes have happened for 100s of millions of years

      • Kim

True. Earthquakes are single part of a larger composite sign. Signs are meant to be clearly seen, recognized and acted upon, much like a danger ahead sign or a detour sign. Earthquakes occurring in every part of the earth, in every populated land mass, would be something the entire inhabited world would notice in a single generation. This makes the sign valid.

        • Gay Veteran

earthquakes have happened 2000 years before Christ and 2000 years after Christ, and 20000 years and 200000 years….

  • Patriot

Coincidence or proof?? Right in front of your eyes…

I would agree with that comment, Mondo. There’s also a huge fault just to the north and offshore of Boston also (off Cape Ann). Similar situation, lots of brick houses in that area and none built to withstand ground shaking.

ALL the fire departments and police departments in the Boston area are brick as well… although there is lots of housing that are wood frame buildings (triple deckers, etc), which tend to fare better during earthquakes because they’d be more likely to sway than fall apart ,,, unless they catch on fire of course.

I think it is revelation in real life. God wiped out life with a flood in the time of Noah. The next wipe out of human life is fire. Yellowstone goes and literally the entire us will be wiped out. A nuclear winter will ensue and most of the world will be plunged into darkness. No sun and no plant life, no crops, etc…etc…Life as we know it is done. Is this the end of time? Is God so fed up with the world that he is about to put an end to it all? Could be. 2nd Timothy 3: 1. But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2. People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,
abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3. without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4. treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5. having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Is this not all true today?

Read Ezekiel 38 – Is war coming? Is Israel going to get attacked? Will the US intervene? War will be so bad it will take the remaining people of Israel 7 months to bury the dead.

Tell that to Haiti, those effected by the tsunami, etc. I guess that 11,000 years only applies to people in the US. Everyone else in the world and their natural disasters are not even acknowledged. The truth is if you study history natural disasters have always happened. Cities have been flattened and destroyed by nature and it is just the way it is. Although I suspect that the weather modification programs in the US, China, etc are making weather a bit more active then in the past and seemingly more frequent. Not to mention a larger population can create problems as people live in areas more prone to natural disasters than ever before. For example; CA and the wild fires and mud slides).

Could fracking be causing some of the earthquakes? From a brief google search there appears to be evidence of such a phenomenon.

“According to the U.S Geological Survey, more than 300 earthquakes above a magnitude 3.0 occurred from 2010-2012, compared with a much lower national average rate of 21 earthquakes per year observed from 1967-2000.”

How about Fracking? What effects is it having on the fault lines?

Bad weather, earthquakes, solar flares, polar vortecs, ice ages come and go, it has always happened and it always will. An earthquake in Califfornia won’t affect me and economic collapse will.

didnt the Sun just switch its magnetoc poles. This probably sent out a magnetic impulse of plaetary proprtions across the solar system.

  • All this was predicted long ago….
    Mark 13:8

Earthquakes may or may not be prophetic. But the book of Revelation says for Christ to return after the seven year tribulation the temple has to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. The temple can now be rebuilt because the tribe of Juda, the Jews ,who are the watchers of the temple returned to Judea in 1948. They have been protected ny GOD. Witness the miracle fo the six day war. They were not only protected, but they acquired more land including Jerusalem. I believe the bible says there will be a war in the Middle East (Ishiah) and Demascus the oldest city in the world will be destroyed. This is the time line I am looking for as the indicator of the beginning of the tribulation.

    • GSOB

“the book of Revelation says for Christ to return after the seven year tribulation the temple has to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. ”

It does not say that. That is an interpretation imposed upon the text.

The Great Tribulation has already been fulfilled.

      • jackn3

I was refering to Rev 11:1-3
I was then givin a stick that looked like a measuring rod and was told” Go and measure the temple of God and the Altar and count those who are worshiping in the temple. But do not measire the outer courts because they have been given to the heathen who will trample on the holy city for forty-two months. I will send my two witnesses dressed in sackcloth and they will proclaim God’s messagefor those 1260 days
Also 2Thess 2:4 he will oppose eve so called god or object of worship and will put himself above them all. He will even go in and sit down in and sit down in God’s temple and claim to be God.

        • GSOB

Remember jackn3, I am one of many who advocates that The Book of Revelation was written before the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.

Basically, John is commanded to cast out the unbelievers.

Between the Sixth and Seventh Seals, the 144,000 saints of the true Israel were protected from the then coming judgement (7:1-8)

That action is paralleled here in 11:1-2 by John’s measuring of the inner court between the Sixth and Seventh Trumpets, now protecting the True Temple (the Church) from the outpouring of God’s wrath.

Measuring is a symbolic action used in Scripture to divide between the holy and the profane, to indicate divine protection from destruction.

Here, the outer court (the court of the Gentiles) accordingly represents apostate Israel, which is to be cut off from the number of the faithful Covenant people, God’s dwelling place.

The imagery is taken from Ezekiel 40-43, where the angelic priest measures the ideal Temple, the New Covenant people of God, the Chruch.

According to the writer to the Hebrews, the sanctuary in the heavens is a pattern for the temple on earth. The temple was standing when John was told measure it.

Unbelieving Israel has been excluded from the protective measuring.

God guarantees His protection to the Church, but Jerusalem has been delivered up to destruction.

The message of of these verses 1 an 2 is that the Church will be save through the then coming tribulation, during which Jerusalem is to be destroyed by an invasion of Gentiles.

The end of that period will mean the full establishment of the Kingdom… which we are in now.

    Whoa Nelly!!

  • JAFO

and an 8.2 just hit off the coast of Chile

  • kokitsum

Why do I always see Bible “End of days” predictions when this happens? I think there is a passage for mankind’s “End of days” from massive flatulence somewhere? You don’t need a Bible to stick your head out the window and smell the “Chemtrails”… oh yea there’s a passage for that too… I know.

  • FortuneSeek3rz

And there goes another one! A massive magnitude 8.2 just off the coast of Chile!!

  • Mudpie

Michael, they have been warned time and time again of the danger. Like the people living on the coast, this is a conscious, reckless decision that they made to live in harm’s way for the sun and fun.

Guess we will all end up paying for that as well.

  • Steve

I once went to Yellowstone and while I was there I noticed a sign that said don’t feed the bears. As i continue reading the sign it told me that if you feed the bears they will become dependent on tourist to come by and feed them and they will forget how to go out and hunt for food, therefore they will eventually starve to death, because the bears will teach their cubs to sit by the road and wait for food instead of hunting. If the United States government can figure this out about a bear and her cubs makes me wonder why they cant figure this out about their welfare system.. HMM Food For Thought!!!!!

    • Eddy

So Steve, you advocate homeless people hunting for their food ? Cool, now explain to us just where they are supposed to hunt and WHAT they are supposed to hunt, never mind what with.

  • EARTH IS AN UNSTABLE TICKING TIME BOMB, that can GO OFF in dozens of ways that would kill all, or nearly all, life of every type at any minute. Earth is an extremely dangerous place for any life to long survive and be secure. There is absolutely nothing new in this fact, or its likelihood of occurring. Any one of these catastrophes could happen tomorrow, or not for a thousand years but, bet the farm, one or more of them is sure to happen at some time in the future. Meantime, we humans, living on this ticking time bomb, in borrowed time, should do WHAT?

WHAT WE SHOULD DO is the following:

    1. Move toward building, not these silly puny space station toys, but whole cities, maybe the first one a cubic mile in size. Self-sufficient cities hat would be self propelled by nuclear power, and able to accommodate permanently 10 or 20 thousand families, complete with everything they need to live permanently in outer space beyond the gravitational pull of any of these giant hot rocks called stars. When, and IF we find life in the Universe it will not be benign, OR living on ticking time bombs like earth. It will be permanently lodged in relatively safe Space Cities.

    2. To kick start this life and death project, yesterday, we need to permanently devote yearly, at least 50% of the world’s entire GDP to this purpose.

    3. Preparations for this should include worldwide education on this specific subject so everyone on earth understands exactly and precisely why this is a necessity, not an option, and should be a number one priority for every single man woman and child on the planet.

    4. Prepare every scrape of human knowledge to be uploaded digitally into this first actual livable permanent earthlings space ship home. Thus the entire historical treasure of knowledge we possess can be made safe and secure where no exploding earth or other catastrophe can touch it. This first ship will be just the first of many to give us redundancy. And New Home should include the whole basic stock of human, animal and plant DNA along with whatever is required in terms of seeds and actual animals in order to create a modern technical version of Noah’s Ark.

    5. If this NEW HOME project requires some form of Global dictatorship, it would be worth it, that is, if it can’t be gotten done democratically by the separate nation states. The key components to do this are money and the will. The same two things Christopher Columbus needed to discover the New World Home of his day.

    6. Even if this catastrophe never happens, it would provide crucial insurance that we cannot be without. Not only that, but in the process of doing this, science would be advanced beyond anything we can even imagine at this time as an extra bonus. And we desperately need that advancement for many reason, most important of which is our ability to defend ourselves against alien predators, who for hundreds of reasons might want to simply exterminate US.

    7. This list of 6 start up plans is only a scratch on the surface of the planning, never mind action, that needs to occur, BUT it is a start that we know of no one else even proposing.
