Earth Changes In 2016? How To Get Prepared For The Coming Earthquakes And Volcanic Eruptions

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Four Horsemen - Public DomainAll over the world seismic activity is increasing.  In recent weeks we have seen a dramatic earthquake in Ecuador, more than 600 earthquakes have experts extremely alarmed about what is happening to Japan’s southern Island, and 37 volcanoes around the planet are erupting right now.  Most of the large earthquakes and volcanic eruptions that we have witnessed lately have come along the Ring of Fire, which is an area of seismic instability which roughly encircles the Pacific Ocean.  Fortunately the west coast of the United States has been spared so far, but scientists tell us that tension has been building up along the San Andreas fault and the Cascadia Subduction Zone for decades, and they assure us that it is only a matter of time before we see a major event.  What that day arrives, will you be prepared?

There were a couple of notable seismic events which took place on Monday.  First of all, the largest volcano in Russia’s Far East known as Klyuchevskaya Sopka violently erupted.  Steaming hot ash was shot more than three miles up into the air, but fortunately it is not a heavily populated area.  This represents yet another major volcanic eruption along the Ring of Fire, and this has some scientists extremely concerned about what may be coming next.

Here in the United States, an unusual swarm of 21 earthquakes along the Arizona-Nevada border is also raising eyebrows

More small earthquakes shook northwest Arizona Sunday adding to the list of temblors that have struck the area since March 29.

The Arizona Geological Survey said two quakes occurred, including a magnitude 2.6 quake at 12:07 a.m.

There has been a swarm of 21 quakes in an area along the Arizona-Nevada line south-southwest of Littlefield, AZ, which is also close to southwestern Utah and the frequency and span puzzles geologists.

The good news is that we have not had a truly historic earthquake in the U.S. for decades, and there have been no major volcanic eruptions since Mount St. Helens exploded back in 1980.

But scientists assure us that we are living on borrowed time, and there are three extremely dangerous volcanoes in North America that I am keeping a close watch on right now…

#1 Mt. Popocatepetl

Popocatepetl is an Aztec word that can be translated as “smoking mountain”, and more than 25 million people live within range of this extraordinarily dangerous mountain.  Experts tell us that during the time of the Aztecs, entire cities were completely buried in super-heated mud from this volcano.  In fact, the super-heated mud was so deep that it buried entire pyramids.  In the event of a full-blown eruption, Mexico City’s 18 million residents probably wouldn’t be buried in super-heated mud, but it would still be absolutely devastating for Mexico’s largest city.

#2 Mt. Rainier

Mt. Rainier has been dubbed a “time bomb“, “the most dangerous mountain in the United States” and “one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world” because it sits so close to Seattle, Tacoma and other major cities along the coast of Washington state.  In the event of a full-blown eruption, countless numbers of people would literally be buried alive in a tsunami of super-heated mud.  These tsunamis of super-heated mud are known as “lahars”, and scientists believe that Mt. Rainier is capable of producing lahars that could move at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.  I am so convinced that an eruption of Mt. Rainier is in our future that I even put one in my novel.

#3 The Yellowstone Supervolcano

Many of us that are a bit older still remember the eruption of Mount St. Helens back in 1980.  Well, scientists tell us that a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would have up to 2,000 times the power of that eruption.  Salt Lake City would be toast, anything caught outside in Denver would probably be dead in pretty short order, and a layer of volcanic ash at least 10 feet deep would be dumped on everything even up to 1,000 miles away.  Food production in America would be virtually wiped out, and a “volcanic winter” would cool global temperatures by up to 20 degrees for an extended period of time.

In other words, life as we know it would come to an end.

That is why the extremely unusual activity going on at Yellowstone right now is such a concern.  If it decides to blow, world history will make a dramatic turn in a single moment.

So what should we do?

As always, we should never give in to fear.  There are definitely going to be major earthquakes and historic volcanic eruptions in North America, and we are going to have to deal with them.  Doing some common sense things in advance will give you and your family the best chance of calmly and smoothly making it through such a crisis.

Below, I have shared some tips that come directly from the CDC.  This first set of tips suggests things that you and your family can do to get prepared for a major earthquake…

—–

Gather Emergency Supplies

Stock up now on emergency supplies that can be used after an earthquake. These supplies should include a first aid kit, survival kits for the home, automobile, and workplace, and emergency water and food. Store enough supplies to last at least 3 days.

Evacuation Plans

If an earthquake occurs, you may need to evacuate a damaged area afterward. By planning and practicing for evacuation, you will be better prepared to respond appropriately and efficiently to signs of danger or to directions by civil authorities.

  • Take a few minutes with your family to discuss a home evacuation plan. Sketch a floor plan of your home; walk through each room and discuss evacuation details.
  • Plan a second way to exit from each room or area, if possible. If you need special equipment, such as a rope ladder, mark where it is located.
  • Mark where your emergency food, water, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers are located.
  • Mark where the utility switches or valves are located so that they can be turned off, if possible.
  • Indicate the location of your family’s emergency outdoor meeting place.

Establish Priorities

Take time before an earthquake strikes to write an emergency priority list, including:

  • important items to be hand-carried by you
  • other items, in order of importance to you and your family
  • items to be removed by car or truck if one is available
  • things to do if time permits, such as locking doors and windows, turning off the utilities, etc.

Write Down Important Information

Make a list of important information and put it in a secure location. Include on your list:

  • important telephone numbers, such as police, fire, paramedics, and medical centers
  • the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of your insurance agents, including policy types and numbers
  • the telephone numbers of the electric, gas, and water companies
  • the names and telephone numbers of neighbors
  • the name and telephone number of your landlord or property manager
  • important medical information, such as allergies, regular medications, etc.
  • the vehicle identification number, year, model, and license number of your automobile, boat, RV, etc.
  • your bank’s or credit union’s telephone number, account types, and numbers
  • radio and television broadcast stations to tune to for emergency broadcast information

Gather and Store Important Documents in a Fire-Proof Safe

  • Birth certificates
  • Ownership certificates (automobiles, boats, etc.)
  • Social Security cards
  • Insurance policies
  • Wills
  • Household inventory, including:
    • list of contents
    • photographs of contents of every room
    • photographs of items of high value, such as jewelry, paintings, collectors’ item

Preparing for a volcanic eruption requires a strategy that is a little bit different.  Here are more tips from the CDC

—–

If you are told to evacuate

Follow authorities’ instructions if they tell you to leave the area. Though it may seem safe to stay at home and wait out an eruption, doing so could be very dangerous. Volcanoes spew hot, dangerous gases, ash, lava, and rock that are powerfully destructive.

Preparing to evacuate

  • Tune in the radio or television for volcano updates.
  • Listen for disaster sirens and warning signals.
  • Review your emergency plan and gather your emergency supplies. Be sure to pack at least a 1-week supply of prescription medications.
  • Prepare an emergency kit for your vehicle with food, flares, booster cables, maps, tools, a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, sleeping bags, a flashlight, batteries, etc.
  • Fill your vehicle’s gas tank.
  • If no vehicle is available, make arrangements with friends or family for transportation, or follow authorities’ instructions on where to obtain transportation.
  • Place vehicles under cover, if at all possible.
  • Put livestock in an enclosed area. Plan ahead to take pets with you, but be aware that many emergency shelters cannot accept animals.
  • Fill your clean water containers.
  • Fill sinks and bathtubs with water as an extra supply for washing.
  • Adjust the thermostat on refrigerators and freezers to the coolest possible temperature. If the power goes out, food will stay cooler longer.

As you evacuate

  • Take only essential items with you, including at least a 1-week supply of prescription medications.
  • If you have time, turn off the gas, electricity, and water.
  • Disconnect appliances to reduce the likelihood of electrical shock when power is restored.
  • Make sure your automobile’s emergency kit is ready.
  • Follow designated evacuation routes—others may be blocked—and expect heavy traffic and delays.

If you are told to take shelter where you are

  • Keep listening to your radio or television until you are told all is safe or you are told to evacuate. Local authorities may evacuate specific areas at greatest risk in your community.
  • Close and lock all windows and outside doors.
  • Turn off all heating and air conditioning systems and fans.
  • Close the fireplace damper.
  • Organize your emergency supplies and make sure household members know where the supplies are.
  • Make sure the radio is working.
  • Go to an interior room without windows that is above ground level.
  • Bring your pets with you, and be sure to bring additional food and water supplies for them.
  • It is ideal to have a hard-wired (non-portable) telephone in the room you select. Call your emergency contact—a friend or family member who does not live near the volcano—and have the phone available if you need to report a life-threatening condition. Remember that telephone equipment may be overwhelmed or damaged during an emergency.

—–

In the end, you have got to do what you feel is best for you and your family.

Personally, I would be extremely hesitant to live in very high risk areas along the west coast or near the Yellowstone supervolcano.  This is especially true considering how dramatically global seismic activity is increasing.

But others point to the fact that these “danger areas” have not seen any major events in decades, so they wonder what all of the fuss is about.

So what do you think?  Please feel free to join the discussion by posting a comment below…

Back in 1991, I was living in Subic Bay, Philippines when Mt. Pinatubo erupted. Many people including myself were not prepared and did not heed the warnings of the geologists. As a result, many people were displaced and far too many died.

I thought we did earthquakes etc just 9 days ago “Dozens Of Large Earthquakes Strike As Speculation Mounts That Japan’s Southern Island May Split” 4/17/16

      • Mike Smithy

        Sunny, it’s Earthquake Appreciation Month.

      • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

I am not sure if you quite get what is happening around the world right now.

        Big things are happening.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

I don’t foresee anything cataclysmic for the USA in the near future, though I might be more wary if I were on the west coast.

        • ALWAYSTOMORROW

I think we all see the same things but we all interpret them differently with different time frames on the consequences.

          • CASTIEL

we can interpret them differently…..but the consequences are always the same the difference is being prepared to whats coming……

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

For the most part I agree. Being prepared is important.

I am going to stick to what I have always believed is the best defense against what most people may encounter which is financial distress. STAY OUT OF DEBT.

When 2008 rolled around, 6 months worth of food, water, silver, vitamins and a generator would not have helped the people who could not pay their mortgages as much as not having any debt would have.

          • Mr. Cipher

I’m going to return the book and pay off my mortgage.

          • CASTIEL

well staying out of debt its a way to fight against this system…..having debt make us slaves and dependent…i agree with you in that point

          • justdooit

Why worry bout quakes…In 2008 the world came to an end…He’s almost finished the YOB…! There’ll be no recovery…and he’ll most likely live through it all. IF he moves to Dubai…I hope the last earthquake on the planet gets him…

I just read a report from a man that studied the Yellowstone lava dome for over 60 years. He say that it is likely that Yellowstone will erupt in the future, however that a super eruption is not likely and may never happen again because the hot spot has slipped under the north American plate.
Also – according to studies of past Yellowstone eruptions, only 3 out of something like 17 have been super eruptions.
These previous eruptions started in northern California and as the plates moved, the hot spot drifted across southern Idaho to where it is thought to be today.
In my estimations – if there was another eruption – it would likely be centered in the direction of Billings Montana and would be large, last a long time but not be a super eruption.
FEAR NOT, God is in control. There is nothing that you can do either way and living in fear only hurts you and those around you.

        Amen!

        there is no god

        • GSOB

Believe in Him or not, you depend on Him more than you realize. Believe me.

        • michael malachi

it is sad that all you want is to cause trouble. God loves you even if you don’t admit that he exists. The path that you are on will lead to the eternal fire. You still have a chance to come to truth. Search your heart.

      • michael malachi

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare. By all means prepare for that which you can prepare for.

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

Thank you Mike. Unfortunately, this article is getting much less attention compared to many of my others, so I don’t know if people understand the importance of this.

      Michael

A good man’s steps are ordered by God. Stay on the path Michael for the Lord is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and He is still with the watchmen. Seeds take time to germinate and to produce. You may not see the harvest today but it is a worthy cause that you have undertaken. May you plant and another water and may God give the increase. God bless.

This is all the homosexuals fault. The blood thirsty God of the bible is punishing America. Somehow America is referenced in the bible that rich families wrote hundreds of years ago. Repent people. Repent!

    • Scott Comin

homosexuality is biological. their is research available. love is the ultimate commandment!! it might be global warming or just ……

      • Steeve Girard

I have to concur with the biological origin of homosexuality.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

One does not need to be a rocket scientist to understand that in evolution homosexuality is an oxymoron.

I do not believe in evolution….I believe in Creation and I believe that God made one man to marry one woman.

God says in The Bible homosexuality is an abomination, no man shall lay with a man as with a woman.

          • Gay Veteran

you sound like a North Korean “rocket scientist”
plenty of examples of homosexuality in nature

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Homosexuality in evolution makes no sense…..we will homosexually evolve ourselves into non-existence, extinction, oblivion….brilliance in reverse.

          • Gay Veteran

ROFLOL, oh Billie boy, how F-ing stoopid can you be?!?!?!?!?!?

there are over 7 BILLION humans on the plantet.
with well over 90% of the population being heterosexual HOW can humans go extinct????????????
and aren’t you one of those who harp about the population explosion among muslims?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

homo ratio not 10% but 5 % populations of entire countries are dropping and once the birthrate hits below 1.6 that country is finished like Italy and Japan. USA is 1.88.

          • Gay Veteran

now you are CHANGING the subject.

            AGAIN:

there are over 7 BILLION humans on the plantet.
with well over 90% of the population being heterosexual HOW can humans go extinct????????????
and aren’t you one of those who harp about the population explosion among muslims?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Only 5% homosexual….if evolution was real the propensity of the homosexual gene would have faded out……

          • Gay Veteran

but, but, but YOU don’t believe in evolution.
so what are you babbling about?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

but, but, but I dont believe in evolution you do……

          • Gay Veteran

uh Bill, you are the one who started talking about evolution.

now explain how because of Teh Gays “…we will homosexually evolve ourselves into non-existence, extinction, oblivion….”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

if it was a gene it would eliminate itself homo is not a gene but a sin….

          • Gay Veteran

oh, so Billie boy got himself a Ph. D. in genetics
OR Billie boy is just making sh it up.

      • JF

“Research” has come out with a lot of things to satisfy the perverted minds of some. “Research” has also been wrong on numerous topics. Look at eggs for instance. How long did ‘research’ give eggs a bad wrap, and then ‘research’ changed their minds.

        • Gay Veteran

don’t you have a street corner to pray loudly at?

      • GSOB

        …”homosexuality is biological”….
        ??
        Do you mean natural?

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

Conversely, nothing is happening in the USA, so god must love homosexuals.

      • Mark

Your such a pathetic he/she or should I say she/he.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

          we must deport you

          • Mark

Na, we need to throw holy water on you and use a stake. That will do it.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

There’s shots for people like you.. at the vet.

          • Mark

There are cages for idiots like you at the ZOO… You freak

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Your matter lines the zoo cages and must be cleaned as it smells and attracts flies.

          • Mark

That’s the best you got ya loser. Reading your comments reminds me of an immature high school or college brat that that has no idea how the real world operates or has respect for our creator. It’s a shame that little terd balls like you even exist. Just look at that high school poster you show. My 19 year old nephew in college has stuff like that except there is one thing that is different about him. he is much more mature and and can think more logical that YOU. Your comments are just that illogical and immature. You need to grow up.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            You’re like a mosquito

          • Steeve Girard

Be careful, she does have from time to time great insight, and I approve here when she does.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Your insight is rather more like shortsight !.

          • Mark

Are you kidding me????? You cannot be serious. This person is mentally sick.

          • Gay Veteran

even a stopped clock is right twice a day

Yes, your right about that one. Funny….That means it’s 17% accurate.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

      • loadnup

this pathetic loser makes his self-centered, obnoxious comments just to get a rise out of anyone he/she can so he/she can respond and feel in control but an idiot like this he/she is best just ignored and accepted as he/she is; an 8-year old spoiled child….. lol in your face….

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

          I’m female.. you are clueless

      • sistersoldier

God does love homosexuals (the person) however He hates the practice of homosexuality (the sin) because the wages of sin is death.

        ANY and ALL UNREPENTANT SIN.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

          there is no god

          • GSOB

Nothing is powerful to cleanse and comfort the soul, but what is taken from Christ’s satisfaction and intercession

        • Steeve Girard

The ancient “wiener” cult before monotheism, practiced a lot of homosexuals acts and ceremonies. So did the Greeks and Romans which were polytheists.

          • sistersoldier

What is your point? It is still wrong no matter the time, the era or place. They practiced cannibalism also – but not to the grace of God but for the worship of Satan the father of lies and murder.

          • Gay Veteran

don’t you have a street corner to pray loudly at?

        • Gay Veteran

you worship a “god” who ordered the murder of children and babies.
so spare us your pathetic lectures on “morality”

      • Steeve Girard

Greeks did so much, they put them on the first row of their battalions. They were thought as superior warriors. Romans did like them too, all though they were more in leader positions, they were thought as superior warriors.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

Homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of The Lord…..The Greeks and Romans both had their Empires collapse…I guess the superior warriors were no help.

          • Gay Veteran

hey Einstein, how many CENTURIES did the Roman Empire last?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Both Greek and Roman Empires collapsed… both in their latter days were homosexual infested just like the USA which is also in its END DAYS

          • Gay Veteran

oh Bill, now you’re just making sh it up and what what an ignorant person you are.

As Christianity rose in the Roman Empire do you think they weren’t persecuting gays? snort, some things never change, eh

“The truth is that Rome fell for complex reasons, but thrived when homosexuality was common and its most sexually perverse emperors ruled. Theories for the fall of Rome’s Empire vary from lead poising in the water pipes to the dubious loyalty of an all-mercenary non-Roman army. Wikipedia has a nice long article outlying the various factors behind how Rome’s magnificent empire slowly collapsed over hundreds of years.
Homosexuality is not on the list.

The truth is Rome fell over 300 years after its peak when Christian emperors forced their new religion on the Roman citizens. Emperor Constantine implemented anti-religious laws banning the Roman people’s traditional beliefs, along with Christian anti-sexuality laws….”

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Just like “global cooling” cover of TIME mag 1976 lol which had to be changed to “global warming” which had to be changed to the fail safe lol “Climate Change” the STORY of homosexual behavior in ancient Greece is just as made up…….remember as recent as 1973 homosexuality was still registered as a mental disease.

Should you spend the time to read the ancients you will learn that Athens had the strictest laws pertaining to homosexuality of any democracy that has ever existed. In non democratic Sparta, as well as democratic Crete there were similar prohibitions with similar punishments as those meted out in Athens.

At no time and at no place was this behavior of homosexuality considered normal behavior and those who were engaged in it to go unpunished. In order to remove any doubt whatsoever read any of the following Aeschylus, Aristophanes, Diodorus Seculus, Euripides, Homer, Lysias, Plato, Plutarch, and Xenophone all who have left a written record as to what the prevailing norms were for this behavior called homosexuality.

The ancient Hellenic texts give all the answers needed in this regard.

          • Gay Veteran

“…remember as recent as 1973 homosexuality was still registered as a mental disease….”

remember as recent as 1973 that interracial marriage was illegal.

            good old days, eh?

“…Should you spend the time to read the ancients you will learn that Athens had the strictest laws pertaining to homosexuality….”

            and what was legal? SLAVERY

“…In non democratic Sparta, as well as democratic Crete there were similar prohibitions wi th similar punishments as those meted out in Athens….”

            and what was legal? SLAVERY

and guess you never heard of the Sacred Band of Thebes which was a troop of picked soldiers, consisting of 150 pairs of male lovers which formed the elite force of the Theban army in the 4th century BC.

and once AGAIN, you fundies soooooooo obsessed with Teh Gays

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

Better pray that Sodom and Gomorrah was Gods idea of urban renewal……….

        • Gay Veteran

were they near where the ark landed?
          or the tower of babel?

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The bare skeleton of whats left of sodom and gomorrah is the roofline and can be barely seen…..

People have been there and brought back sulfur rocks as it is all over the place.

The Tower of Babel is really called a ziggurat and was built by Nimrod and was the original New World Order the first attempt to organize the civilizations
with Nimrod as the head. This was against the word of God to spread out and populate the earth….well the original NWO did not last too long and neither will the attempt for NWO which is staring us right in the face.

Much to know but unfortunately you dont know much…..you are lost in your sin of homosexuality which is no worse than adultery but both are a lifestyle away from God….not much time get right with GOD.

          • Gay Veteran

you fundies obsess over Teh Gays because you LOVE to condemn the “sin” that YOU don’t engage in (well, you people are constantly being caught with your pants down).

All based on a book describing how your “god” ordered the murder of children and babies. A book that couldn’t be clear enough about condemning slavery.

So NO, I will not be taking any lectures on morality from pharisees like YOU

          • James Staten

You are not a sinner because you sin. You sin because you were born a sinner, the offspring of Adam. Everyone is born into this world “spiritually stillborn” to God. So spiritually you live your life dead to God, and eventually if not Born Again, your physical body dies too. There is an old saying Born once die twice (this life and the 2nd death eternal separation from God at the Great White Throne Judgment), Born twice die once, or the Lord may come for His Church and you may not even experience this First Death!!!. The way to be Born Again..Believe the Gospel, the Good News…1st Corinthians 15:1-4

like most ignorant men, the MEN who wrote the bible could not understand natural phenomena and would say it was caused by “god”.

            as for Sodom and Gomorrah:

“…Another…opinion is that the cities of Bad dh-Dhra and Numeira, which are the only known inhabited towns in the region of the Dead Sea for the period of time between 3000 BCE and 1000 BCE, could be the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah respectively. Both of these towns were simultaneously destroyed at the end of the Early Bronze III period by an enormous fire so big as to create debris three feet thick. The question here is what could have caused such destruction? The excavations in the area point to falling burning debris. This is where geologist Frederick Clapp suggests that a release of the subterranean substance called bitumen (a derivative of petroleum) during an earthquake may account for the debris. According to his theory, it ignited in the air and led to a shower of flaming debris that destroyed both of the cities….”

Fukushima is a warning of the dangers that an earthquake can produce. An improperly designed nuclear power plant has turned a huge area into an inhospitable wasteland. Even with sea walls or other preparations the tsunami whipped out large populated areas. People living in this area had seconds in which to make a decision which determined if they lived or died.

    • Richard O. Mann

Fukushima handled the earthquake just as it was designed to do. It was all that water from the tsunami that did the number on them. Something the engineers had not gave a lot of thought to when they designed and build the plants. It’s hard to plan for things when you have not experienced them.

Some say that a really big quake is to happen in North-California within weeks along the Saint Andrews fault line. So if you are closeby be prepared.

Hey, don’t worry. God is everywhere, except when you need him.

    • sistersoldier

Wrong! Without faith it is impossible to please God. Those who come to Him must believe that He exists. And He is always there for He promised to never forsake us nor leave us. Our sins separate us from God but never from His love for His creation. He died for it and for those who would inherit salvation. Without a strong prayer life to inquire of God how would you know where God is or what He is doing? God inhabits the praises of His people so whenever we praise Him with a sincere heart He is always there – whether you acknowledge Him or not. You were awakened this morning by His hand and if He is yet merciful you may arise again tomorrow but never by your own strength unless you dare say that you created yourself.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

      there is no god

      • df NJ

I will prove to you God exists. God is just a word. No one denies the existence of the word God. What the word God means is defined by every sentence that uses the word God.

What is really interesting is, as far as I can tell, God is a word that represents all that is, all that can be, along with every possible explanation, and everything that is mysterious. God is the only word in the language that represents the alpha through omega and non-existence at the same time.

You could argue the language doesn’t need to have the word God and still be communicative. But it’s sure fun and useful to have around.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

ok, the word god exists, but god his/its self doesn’t (this was a pedantic quest)

          • df NJ

I will agree with you that God does not exist the same way you and I experience an “apple”. But other than that, it sure does exist. As aside argument, it’s funny how nature always turns out to be so much stranger than anything we could have ever imagined. From time to time I have this sinking feeling what if the Old Testament God turned out to be real. The bad version of God. Not the good version of God they have in the New Testament. Man, that would really shocking!

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            no, no, it doesn’t

          • df NJ

What are you saying “no” to? God is real. I see the letters right on the screen.

          • df NJ

If you are not completely shocked by quantum entanglement you are not paying attention. How about the fact the Universe is not only expanding but accelerating. It hurts the brain!

          • Steeve Girard

New research shows that acceleration might be an illusion of gravity, that the universe may not in fact expand faster than the speed of light.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            might be an illusion lol

            may not in fact lol

            What a joke…….

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

i can type lejaweirow.. but that doesn’t make it exist

          • df NJ

RE: “lejaweirow” if this word represented the same thing the word “God” represents it would be the word “God”.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

you seem like a nice guy, but you haven’t proven god’s existence to me

          • df NJ

Some words, like “God”, “Love”, “Freedom”, etc, only exist in our speaking and written language.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Love is a feeling.. I believe in it
Freedom is a concept… I believe in it
but to get me to believe in a supreme guy in the sky.. ain’t happenin

          • df NJ

In terms of language, the way people use “supreme guy in the sky” is real is the sense of how it is used in language. Again, I agree, we do not experience God the same way you and I experience an apple. Now some people believe they will experience God some day the same way they experience an apple. But right now, how the word is used, God is a real.

Think of God as a premise to a proof. A premise is something you accept as being true without proof. I think each of us choose how we define what the word God means. It’s a choice and not a decision. Decisions are based on reasons. A reason to believe in God would be to hear him bellowing out commands from the clouds. The thing is, even if God choose to bellow out commands from the sky no one would believe it was God. By Occam’s razor, a simpler explanation would be extraterrestrial graduate students experimenting on the human race.

My main point is the word God exists, has special meaning which makes it a unique word, and what it means on a personal level is chosen by each person.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

I think of god as a made up entity

          • df NJ

Yes. But, it’s a really fun and useful word to have around.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

so is fluffyfliffy, but i won’t go to church for it

          • df NJ

fluffyfliffy does not represent all that is, all that can be, all that will never be known. There is only one word that has this representation. And that word is not fluffyfliffy.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

            I like fluffyfliffy better

          • df NJ

The choose fluffyfliffy as your God.

          • Steeve Girard

God thousands of years ago was a “wiener”. The Abrahamic religions are descendants of the old “wiener” cult practised by primitive people. Traces of that cult are all over the scriptures, of all three religions.

I do not think anyone anywhere will be able to prove that there is a God because “faith” is required to believe in God.

Wikipedia defines faith as “confidence or trust in a person or thing; or the observance of an obligation from loyalty; or fidelity to a person, promise, engagement; or a belief NOT BASED ON PROOF”

Good and necessary advise. It seems just about everywhere you go today there are signs popping up that state “shelter in place” which indicates that emergencies whether they are natural or man-made disasters have become part of our fallen world. It is not only wise to prepare spiritually but most certainly physically as we all have loved ones that maintain a certain inertia about life that things will never change or that it will never happen in America. Disaster does not have favorites only victims.

As our dependence grows on Him, we see that He will provide everything at the right time.

All is well with the Lord GSOB – I did not say anything different in that we must prepare spiritually as well as physically. God will always get the glory due His Holy name and all is within His will for those who die in Christ as well as those who harden their hearts against Him. It is all in His perfect plan.

      • sistersoldier

Sunny, If there is no God where where did conscience get such an absolute authority? Why do we have moral compasses?

Did we get it from something less than ourselves such as nature? Man has dominion over the earth. Did we get authority from ourselves the individual?

Did mankind get authority granted upon us by other human beings equal to ourselves in society? OR – Did we get it from something above ourselves God our Creator?!

How can we be obligated by something less than our own intellectual concepts? Surely we would be like brute beasts – though some are or act as such but we would exist simply by animal instinct and without intelligent order.

We cannot obligate ourselves to live a life of
higher standards for what is the measuring line if not kingdom standards? Do you dare say that you are divine apart from divinity? Do you have the right to demand complete obedience from anyone including yourself? If you are the one who incarcerated yourself by the laws of
obligation can you pardon yourself? Can you alone destroy the makings of an absolute God?

Morals, divinity, consciousness, life and the
will to live can only come from one source that is void of darkness and corruption and Who is worthy to release you and all men from the obligation of sin other than ONE who is without sin. So what is your premise” Can you prove there is no God?

Society cannot obligate you without a higher standard to lead by in an of itself. it has no
rights to impose on others what it determines as a “greater good” but simply to coexist as equals with no moral obligation as its values are corrupt without a holy perimeter. Contrary to popular belief quantity does not necessitate quality. Thank God there is only ONE TRUE GOD that cannot be duplicated or imitated such as all other false gods that man’s
        lust wants to serve.

The one and only source of flawless moral obligation must be something superior and greater to ourselves – the divine – the flawless – the Righteous Judge. He alone binds our will, our morals, our lives in His hand by His will – not ours. He has ordained Himself as the Holy One for there is no one greater than He is or rather the great I AM who may do with His creation as He pleases and does not need our authentication to prove that He exists! He has never needed our validation only our obedience to His will and our reverence of His Holy name.

God is the only adequate source and recipient and foundation for fundamental moral obligation and it is why we feel the need to obey our conscience. Our conscience is as the voice of God within us and it is the seat of the soul. His commandments are our blueprints to blessings and prosperity if we follow the footprints in the cosmic sands as they lead us back to where we originally descended from the mind of God.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

Most people are basically good. Others learn by fear of reprisal.

          • sistersoldier

No they are not. We are born into sin we come into the world with sin built into our DNA it must be covered by the blood of Christ and we must be nurtured by the Word of God. You cannot be good without God for there is no good thing in you apart from God. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Man considers himself basically good but man is Judged on Gods standards not mans. We make our choice….

Hey SFS, read the book “23 minutes in hell” just so you can see a glimpse of your future. Bill Weise is the author I believe.

You see I get a chuckle out of your posts but the reality is denying God is like denying gravity. In the end it won’t be such a laughing matter for you or anyone that believes that. However, I feel like you say it just to see the people get all fired up, and it works with most. But for anyone that truly believes it, that there is no God, I can’t help but look at those poor uneducated souls like a parent looks at a child who makes a mistake, I just shake my head with the “know it all” mentality. Ya see if you really think the way you profess than I can only conclude you are uneducated in this topic. Basic education in the science and math alone, behind God has even led the most pronounced and decorated atheists to have their “ah-ha…here is a God” moment late in their life. You or anyone interested can figure out who they are on your own, I can’t give it all away! 🙂

“24 minutes in hell” amigo, good short read. It’s even short enough that a 5th grader could read it…even though in the American education system that’s debatable!

Good luck to you and every other real/fake atheist spit there!

There is life after death. There are many testimonies to this event where people have been afforded the opportunity to return as “eye” witnesses that the Lord is coming soon and His reward is with Him.

Your soul will survive your body of death as it was created as a temporary house for a temporary place but if you are so strong in your convictions that there is no God – What is the point of living? It would seem to me for someone who rejects the giver of life that everything else would be meaningless and without any real value. However, you fight to stay alive so you must know that you are not ready for the unknown.
You have denied Him access to your life and to your thoughts and to your heart so I am sure He will deal with you accordingly when the day comes and you hear your name called by Your Creator. There will be no excuses — there will be no escape — there will be no words to describe the pain of knowing even as you are known that God is REAL as the heavenly floor gives way before the BEMA seat of judgment and opens to eternal torment.

Seek Him while He may yet be found and perhaps will have mercy on your unrepentant soul.

          • ALWAYSTOMORROW

sistersoldier you said “There are many testimonies to this event where people have been afforded the opportunity to return as “eye” witnesses”

The bible states that it appointed “once” to die……
            Hebrews 9:27King James Version (KJV)
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

How do you explain their opportunity to “return”. Seeing God seems to require death. Returning seems impossible unless the person lives for ever and never dies again which would be considered dying a 2nd time.

I am having a hard time explaining, but I think you get what I mean.

            2 Kings 13:21
Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.

The Judgement is at the End and all will be Judged… this in the Bible is called The Great White Throne Judgement all will be there except those “born again” and washed clean of sins by the Blood of Yeshua(Jesus).

I would say those that have been given a glimpse of Heaven and called back to earth is a miracle by God and I would have no ability to understand but just believe that God can make the Dead arise and live again just like the story of Lazarus in The Bible.

The post by sister soldier was well done and one of the best posts that I have read on this blog. Read that post again as your eternal life may depend on it.

I was referring to near death experiences in relationship to absolute death. You cannot deny that there have been people who were resuscitated after heart and brain activity has ceased. Myself being one during the second birth of one of my children so I must respectfully disagree.

Here are 10 doomsday predictions that didn’t pan out, so far:

The Prophet Hen of Leeds, 1806

History has countless examples of people who have proclaimed that the return of Jesus Christ is imminent, but perhaps there has never been a stranger messenger than a hen in the English town of Leeds in 1806. It seems that a hen began laying eggs on which the phrase “Christ is coming” was written. As news of this miracle spread, many people became convinced that doomsday was at hand — until a curious local actually watched the hen laying one of the prophetic eggs and discovered someone had hatched a hoax.

[End of the World? Top Doomsday Fears]

      The Millerites, April 23, 1843

A New England farmer named William Miller, after several years of very careful study of his Bible, concluded that God’s chosen time to destroy the world could be divined from a strict literal interpretation of scripture. As he explained to anyone who would listen, the world would end some time between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844. He preached and published enough to eventually lead thousands of followers (known as Millerites) who decided that the actual date was April 23, 1843. Many sold or gave away their possessions, assuming they would not be needed; though when April 23 arrived (but Jesus didn’t) the group eventually disbanded—some of them forming what is now the Seventh Day Adventists.

      Mormon Armageddon, 1891 or earlier

Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon church, called a meeting of his church leaders in February 1835 to tell them that he had spoken to God recently, and during their conversation he learned that Jesus would return within the next 56 years, after which the End Times would begin promptly.

      Halley’s Comet, 1910

In 1881, an astronomer discovered through spectral analysis that comet tails include a deadly gas called cyanogen (related, as the name imples, to cyanide). This was of only passing interest until someone realized that Earth would pass through the tail of Halley’s comet in 1910. Would everyone on the planet be bathed in deadly toxic gas? That was the speculation reprinted on the front pages of “The New York Times” and other newspapers, resulting in a widespread panic across the United States and abroad. Finally even-headed scientists explained that there was nothing to fear.

      Pat Robertson, 1982

In May 1980, televangelist and Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson startled and alarmed many when — contrary to Matthew 24:36 (“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven…”) he informed his “700 Club” TV show audience around the world that he knew when the world would end. “I guarantee you by the end of 1982 there is going to be a judgment on the world,” Robertson said.

      Heaven’s Gate, 1997

When comet Hale-Bopp appeared in 1997, rumors surfaced that an alien spacecraft was following the comet — covered up, of course, by NASA and the astronomical community. Though the claim was refuted by astronomers (and could be refuted by anyone with a good telescope), the rumors were publicized on Art Bell’s paranormal radio talk show “Coast to Coast AM.” These claims inspired a San Diego UFO cult named Heaven’s Gate to conclude that the world would end soon. The world did indeed end for 39 of the cult members, who committed suicide on March 26, 1997.

      Nostradamus, August 1999

The heavily obfuscated and metaphorical writings of Michel de Nostrdame have intrigued people for over 400 years. His writings, the accuracy of which relies heavily upon very flexible interpretations, have been translated and re-translated in dozens of different versions. One of the most famous quatrains read, “The year 1999, seventh month / From the sky will come great king of terror.” Many Nostradamus devotees grew concerned that this was the famed prognosticator’s vision of Armageddon.

      Y2K, Jan. 1, 2000

As the last century drew to a close, many people grew concerned that computers might bring about doomsday. The problem, first noted in the early 1970s, was that many computers would not be able to tell the difference between 2000 and 1900 dates. No one was really sure what that would do, but many suggested catastrophic problems ranging from vast blackouts to nuclear holocaust. Gun sales jumped and survivalists prepared to live in bunkers, but the new millennium began with only a few glitches.

      May 5, 2000

In case the Y2K bug didn’t do us in, global catastrophe was assured by Richard Noone, author of the 1997 book “5/5/2000 Ice: the Ultimate Disaster.” According to Noone, the Antarctic ice mass would be three miles thick by May 5, 2000 — a date in which the planets would be aligned in the heavens, somehow resulting in a global icy death (or at least a lot of book sales). Perhaps global warming kept the ice age at bay.

      God’s Church Ministry, Fall 2008

According to God’s Church minister Ronald Weinland, the end times are upon us– again. His 2006 book “2008: God’s Final Witness” states that hundreds of millions of people will die, and by the end of 2006, “there will be a maximum time of two years remaining before the world will be plunged into the worst time of all human history. By the fall of 2008, the United States will have collapsed as a world power, and no longer exist as an independent nation.” As the book notes, “Ronald Weinland places his reputation on the line as the end-time prophet of God.”

      • Chris Kelly

The Bible says that the way to know if a man is a true prophet of God is whether what he says comes to pass. There are many false prophets in this world and we have to be careful who we listen to.

        • REALIST

“Prophets” are those who hear voices in their heads. God told me, that if I loved him (GOD) I would kill my new born baby boy to show my LOVE. My wife called the cops. (She is an atheist). I told her GOD spoke to me, but I still spent the weekend in jail. Luckily, the Judge had read and accepted the Bible and let me go. God still speaks to me, as he did to Abraham and the Prophets. After my wife, AGAIN, “Baker-Acted” me for again trying to sacrifice my Son to the Lord to show my love,I finally did what the Old Testament says and slayed the sinner of the Lord. The Lord works in mysterious ways but he and I are both willing to sacrifice our SON’s.

Michael. How long will you let Sunny troll every blog post?
I’m all for freedom of speech, but it’s becoming almost impossible for your readers to have an intelligent conversation/debate on the topic of the day.
I could understand if this was some teenage mtv blog, but it’s not. The topics you cover are serious, and important. They aren’t meant for trolls who make it a full time job trying to get a rise out of people.

The four horsemen show us God’s means of controlling and bringing judgment upon the disobedient nation of Israel.

“The true interpretation of these first four seals is that which recognizes them as a symbolic representation of the ‘wars, famines, pestilences and earthquakes’ which Jesus declared would be ‘the beginning of sorrows’ in the desolation of Jerusalem” – Milton Terry

Normalcy bias: the curse of the prophets. Too soon dead; too late smart. Human nature; It won’t happen to me, nor will it happen in my life-time. I’ve warned my friends, those who attend my churches, and anyone else that’s handy for several years, but as far as I know, my wife & I are the only ones preparing for an economic collapse and coming mini ice age, with its volcanoes, earthquakes, and terrible weather. I’ve told them too, of the Lord removing His covering and blessings from the US, and all this appears as though it’s mostly ignored. We continue to pray and warn anyway, and pray for a great stirring and out-pouring of the Holy Spirit upon the people. God bless you all…Fiddlin
