The Earth’s Crust Will Be Shaken By More Than 100,000 Earthquakes That Humans Can Feel In 2016

Earth From Space 2017 - Public DomainDid you know that our planet will be hit by more than 100,000 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater this year alone?  Earlier today, I came across a report that contained this amazing fact, but it was so incredible that I felt that I had to go and verify it myself.  So I went to the official USGS website, and I found out that this is actually true.  Overall, there are about half a million earthquakes around the globe each year, but it is only when a quake is of about magnitude 3.0 or greater that humans actually feel them.  As the very large earthquakes in Italy and Myanmar within the last 24 hours have demonstrated, the shaking of our planet is getting worse, and this is something that I have written about over and over again.  So why is this happening?  Why does the crust of our planet seemingly become more and more unstable with each passing year?

We need to start addressing those questions, because there aren’t too many things that can do more damage to a community than a major earthquake.  Very early Wednesday morning, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck central Italy.  It is being reported that it sounded “like a bomb” went off, and it looks like this is going to end up being the worst natural disaster to hit Italy in many years.

This earthquake rattled buildings in Rome, it could be felt in Naples to the south, and it is even being claimed that it could be felt all the way up in Bologna in the north.

The epicenter of the quake was a charming little Italian town known as Amatrice.  According to Mayor Sergio Pirozzi, “the town is no more” at this point.  You can see some amazing photographs of the destruction for yourself right here.  Homes, churches and businesses collapsed in heaps of rubble, and at this moment rescuers are engaged in a frantic race against time to pull survivors from the wreckage…

Rescue teams using bulldozers, and aided by townspeople with their bare hands, were still poring through the piles of rock, metal and wood late Wednesday looking for possible survivors. Police near the town of Ascoli said they could hear cries for help from under the rubble but lacked the heavy equipment to move the rocks, according the RAI radio.

“We need chain saws, shears to cut iron bars, and jacks to remove beams: everything, we need everything,” civil protection worker Andrea Gentili told the Associated Press.

So far, the death toll stands at 159 people, but that number is going to go way up as more bodies are discovered.  The following was reported by Reuters

One hotel that collapsed in the small town of Amatrice probably had about 70 guests, and only seven bodies had so far been recovered, said the mayor of the town that was one of the worst hit by the quake.

But as destructive as the Italian quake was, it wasn’t even the largest earthquake on the globe on Wednesday.  A huge magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Myanmar, but because that earthquake was much deeper it didn’t do the same level of damage as the quake in Italy did…

A powerful earthquake shook Myanmar on Wednesday, killing at least three people and damaging nearly a hundred ancient Buddhist pagodas in the former capital of Bagan, a major tourist site, officials said.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 6.8 quake was centered about 25 kilometers (15 miles) west of Chauk, a town south of Bagan. It was located fairly far below the Earth’s surface at a depth of about 84 kilometers (52 miles), it said.

Sadly, most Americans couldn’t care less about what goes on in places like Italy or Myanmar.  I know that may sound terrible, but it is true.

However, Americans should care, because this global rise in earthquake activity is affecting us as well.  In fact, the USGS now says that human activity may at least be partially to blame for the “dramatic increase in seismicity” that we have been witnessing in the United States in recent years…

On Monday, for the first time, the U.S. Geological Survey has released an analysis of the magnitude of “human-induced” earthquakes. That such a thing as human-induced earthquakes can exist is scary enough, but the “dramatic increase in seismicity” in places such as Oklahoma has forced the USGS to consider the threat more broadly.

“By including human-induced events, our assessment of earthquake hazards has significantly increased in parts of the U.S.,” said Mark Petersen, chief of the USGS National Seismic Hazard Mapping Project, in a statement. “This research also shows that much more of the nation faces a significant chance of having damaging earthquakes over the next year, whether natural or human-induced.”

And I wanted to note that there was a magnitude 3.9 earthquake in Colorado on Tuesday.  We have started to see sizable earthquakes in many portions of the country where they are not expected, and this is going to continue to get worse as the shaking of our planet intensifies.

There is one more thing that I wanted to share with you all today.  I don’t know if this is related to anything, but a blood red moon was photographed directly behind the new World Trade Center tower last night.  To some people this is just a meaningless coincidence, but there are others that consider it to be a very ominous sign.

This summer, things have been relatively calm and peaceful in America.  Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have dominated the headlines, but other than the election there really hasn’t been a major crisis that has grabbed the attention of the nation.

But of course all of that could change in a moment.  Despite all of our advanced technology, the truth is that we are still virtually defenseless against a major natural disaster.

Scientists tell us that it is inevitable that a great New Madrid earthquake will shake the center of the country.  They also tell us that it is inevitable that there will be a major earthquake in southern California, that volcanoes on the west coast will erupt again, and that the Yellowstone supervolcano could wipe out much of the country in a single day.

As global seismic activity continues to rise, it is just a matter of time before a string of historic disasters hits this nation.

Unfortunately, I am convinced that this could happen a lot sooner than most people would dare to imagine.

From what I read, Tokyo with its millions and millions of people is where the “big one” will be the event of the century. It could be the black swan event that changes history for a lot of the planet.

Would this have anything to do with John Paul Jackson’s prophesy of an earthquake there and eruption of Mt. Fugi burying the city and causing over 7 million deaths in his “Perfect Storm” U-Tube video?
Just another one of those things to keep in mind as we move forward! Maybe, maybe not. I am reminded that David Wilkerson did say earthquakes would become the number one news item in the future (40 years ago). Certainly Jesus prophesied they would be widely noticed before His return! Scripture says the earth will be moved out of its place!

I may be dead and gone but it won’t be because I lived longer than my life expectancy. Scripture interprets itself and if one simply accepts that fact and applies it, one can pretty well know when the LORD will return.

Even Paul, writing to those at Thessalonika, said,
“Now as to the times and the seasons, brethren, YOU HAVE NO NEED of anything to be written to you. For you yourself know full well that the Day of the LORD will come just like a thief in the night. While they [men] are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

BUT YOU [me] brethren, are NOT IN DARKNESS , that that day should overtake you like a thief.” (1 Thess. 5:1-4)

I am not in darkness so I can and do know about when the Day of the LORD occurs and will be more certain as we get even closer! I know what to look for because I have been taught!

Some have no idea what is going on, and others, just a few, do. Those who don’t, won’t listen to the few who do because of their pride.

Many Christians even point to this very same passage and claim Jesus “comes like a thief in the night” and so we can’t know approximately when it happens, even though the VERY SAME passage says those who know Him will NOT be unaware of the time of His return.
It is just another proof of how well satan can deceive God’s people using His own Word, just like he did to Eve! Why? They have no respect for God’s Word despite claiming they do. Again, how sad! I’ve seen it and pointed it out a hundred times and it makes no difference to them!

  • Tatiana Covington

This has been going on since the Earth formed. It is only that these days, we are better at detecting most quakes, and at spreading the news about them.

    • JC Teecher

It has been going on since earth formed, however; never in our recorded history has earthquakes increased “exponentially” as they have in the last century.

I see the movements in and around Rome, as a sign of the earth preparing for the big one in a few years that opens up the gigantic fault that runs underneath the Vatican, and devours all that deception at the nearing of the return of the Lord and Saviour.

The defiled, Dome of the Rock, will also be devoured by the earth as the area of Jerusalem, will be cleansed, for the building of the Millennial Temple.

So God was really unhappy with us 2003, 2004, and 2005. Probably because the US
was bombing so many innocent Iraqi women and children out of existence. God then
was mad at us again in 2008 because of the financial crisis. Specifically, the $19 billion dollars given to Merrill Lynch in December 2008 by Paulson where $9 billion was given directly to top managers as bonuses. That really made God angry.

        • Jerry C

So, your god is science. The same “science” that changed the EQ measuring system by a full 1.0 point down a few years ago? ROFLMAO. Your god keeps changing because stupid humans have no idea about the real reality.

I’m surprised that there aren’t more due to fracking, though. Fracking is known to create “man-made” earthquakes.

No, but records of destruction have been.

          Quoted from wikipedia:

This list of 20th-century earthquakes is a global list of notable earthquakes that occurred in the 20th century. After 1900 most earthquakes have some degree of instrumental records and this means that the locations and magnitudes are more reliable than for earlier events.

Nothing new. Earth quakes occur all the time.

  • JC Teecher

Usually, there isn’t all that much warning, except for the known faults that exist in any given area. People either have to gamble with the prospects of one going off, or pick up and move. Very few will ever pick up and move.

Another type of earthquake is about to shake down, and that is the economic/financial one. Possibly, but hopefully not, this coming Fall.
    Troubled Waters ahead?

A well known economist that has made accurate predictions with regards to the US economy has predicted again. This time it is going to be much bigger than just a correction or bear market on Wall Street.
The bond market, and the inflated stock market are a couple of the indicators. The bond markets are in horrible shape, especially the leveraged ones. Most of the major stocks are overvalued by as much as 80%.
Oil is soon to be disrupted, and actually already has been, by the glut. US oil rigs have dropped off from their all time highs by 800k barrels a day. The sleeper in all this coming removal of the glut and cheap gas prices, is Venezuela. It has the largest proven reserves in the world, but has the most debt and worn out infrastructure.
Production has dropped and transporters have pulled out because of non-payment. Their overall contribution to the world supply will soon drop by 25% or more, because they can’t secure more credit.
Debt, by Oil Companies, has now reached over 2 Billion dollars, they report.
The economist that has made the correct predictions in the past, says we will soon see the stock market drop/crash by a whopping 50%.
The housing market will decline by 40%.
The unemployment rate in USA will jump by 30%.

Will a trigger be the Yuan coming onto the world IMF “reserve currency” market? Beginning October 1st, The Chinese will acquire 10.92% of shared reserve currency with four other countries. Some say it will not make a difference, but who knows?

Regardless of the unsettling situation of the POTUS election, I believe we are about to cross into troubled waters ahead. My advice is, gird yourselves up, put on the gospel armor, and expect rough sailing for a stretch.
If a family has enough stored food/water, seeds, alternative/backup heat sources, paid up/saved up cash for 2016 property taxes/mortgage/rent, and security, to get by until springtime; they are ahead of the other 99% of the population.

Selah! = Pause + meditate + think + Let it become a working knowledge.

  • Preacher62

Earthquakes and fires and floods…… oh my! These have nothing to do with your status in the eyes of God. This life is nothing more than a layover on our way to eternity. Stop treating it as if we are to be here longer than the blink of an eye. Do not fear that which kills the body, rather fear him which not only kills the body but then destroys the soul in Hell. God loves you so much that he sacrificed himself to save you from himself. Repent and believe the Gospel and you may yet be saved. God Bless.

    • df NJ

My faith in God is stronger than yours. I believe our loving God will use his infinite powers of forgiveness to allow everyone through the gates of heaven to experience eternal heavenly bliss regardless of our earthly sins or how we practiced our religion. God loves us unconditionally in spite of how much people like you are obsessed with judging other people.

      • Preacher62

Your faith is not in God, it is in your imagination from whence your version of God was conjured. What you believe is irrelevant. Only the truth is relevant and the truth can only be found in God’s word and in the hearts of those who belong to him through Jesus Christ. God is love, but God is also righteousness and justice. Repent and believe the Gospel and you may yet be saved.

        • df NJ

Your faith is not in God. Your faith is in particular words of the Bible. You idolize the words “Jesus Christ”. You are an idol worshiper. You practice religion like an NFL football fan. You are fan of Jesus Christ. My faith is in God and God alone. There is only one all-powerful, all-loving, all-forgiving God. And that God is God.

Very interesting question James! Moses asked God the same question. When Moses was to go to the Pharaoh, Moses asked God “What if the Israelites ask me “What is the name of this God? Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” This is what you are to say to the Israelites: “I AM has sent me to you.” That is so marvelous that God told Moses that. Oh the reference is Exodus 3:13-14.

So what you are saying is you don’t believe the words of Jesus given in Matthew 7:13-14. If there is one truth in that book, it is that the invisible God, put on a tent of human flesh, and dwelt among us. If one believes your theology, then there was no reason for His death on the Cross. Sounds quite specific to me.

      • Paul Patriot

You are deceived. Your “God” is not the living God of the Bible. The biblical God is love and mercy, but also a holy righteous judge.

Not all will be saved and go to heaven, but “wide is the road that leads to destruction”

“Unless a man be born again, he will not enter the kingdom”

“There is no name under heaven in which a man may be saved, but by Jesus”

“I am the way the Truth and the life, no one comes to the father except by me”

“He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son does not have life”

Be not decieved Jesus came into the world to die for sinners to appease a holy, righteous God who cannot allow sin to go unpunished, Jesus salvation is not automatically universal, one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and repent of their sins in order to be born again.

Don’t take my word for it check the Bible fir yourself if you dare and seek truth…..God will judge the world and seperate those who go to he’ll from those who go to heaven…

So God was really unhappy with us 2003, 2004, and 2005. Probably because the US was bombing so many innocent Iraqi women and children out of existence. God then was mad at us again in 2008 because of the financial crisis. Specifically, the $19 billion dollars given to Merrill Lynch in December 2008 by Paulson where $9 billion was given directly to top managers as bonuses. That really made God angry.

I don’t have a problem with God’s wrath. I’ve just never seen it. Our God’s love is too abundant. What I do question is you saying some natural disaster is God’s wrath. You do not speak for God.

        • Preacher62

God’s wrath begins with people being given over to foolish ideas of what God is really like. When they begin to worship the created rather than the creator. God’s wrath is nothing more than abandonment. The first sign that one has been abandoned is when that one no longer has a fear of God.

          • MaxRockatansky33

Your God is not kind. Almost like Allah.

          • Preacher62

Allah is a figment of your imagination. God gave himself for you. Can’t get much kinder than that.

          • MaxRockatansky33

So they think exactly the same about Hebrev God. And that’s why there are wars and violence in Middle East and spreading.

          • Preacher62

No, there are wars and violence because of men seeking those things that are of the world rather than seeking those things that are of God and Christ’s kingdom. Just because man uses God’s name to justify fulfilling their own lusts, it will not absolve them of their guilt.

          For me…..
It’s an impulse that goes back thousands of years and still thrives among people who are generally skeptical of science and who seek Divine explanations for natural calamities.

Between the years 1900 and 1920 more than 20,000 people were killed in Italy by earthquakes.
More earthquakes every year? I’m not so sure about that.
What is sure is that reporting has grown exponetially with teh internet and communciation revolotioion.

Earthquakes in diverse places. Pretty simple, another sign the Second Coming is approaching.

    • df NJ

You would not know the second coming where here if he was sitting next to you. Unless the sky opens up and God’s voice comes billowing down you would never believe it. And even then, most people would argue the voice was from mischievous extraterrestrials effing with us before they would accept it as the voice of God.

I would like to take you up to 50,000 feet to get the big picture. GODS view.
Albert told us that time is a myth and just a convienence. What exactly does that mean? I view time as a huge ilm that was on a huge reel. This reel has been unwound and is flat and goes on for miles. Every thing that has happened or will happen is on the frames of this long long film.
We are at a point along this film and =certain frames for us today are in play. tomorrow we will move onto a new frame. Point being that everything has happened and is happening at the same “time” It just depends on where you are along the spectrum. If this also sounds like pre-destination you would be correct. Even our smart scientist are beginning to get the picture re: predestination.
Sit back LOVE GOD and your fellow man – you cannot change anything and enjoy the short ride!!

  • To say that Americans don’t care of what is happening in Italy is BS.
I very much care since I have many relatives in Italy.

That new World Trade Center tower is the main harbinger from Jonathan Cahn’s book called “The Harbinger”. It is where Obama wrote the same 8 paraphrased words on the top beam of this building, that were basically the same 8 Hebrew words in Isaiah 9 that brought Judgment upon ancient Israel. This is a very ominous sign from The Father and The Son that bad things are coming to America, shortly.

Basically we all live on an eggshell fragmented many times over.
Underneath this eggshell is volcanic material that is very hot!
Just to make things interesting 6/7ths of the planet appears to be covered in oceans and waters like the Great Lakes of North America.
The entire thing is further complicated by methane gas. This also is accumulating at rapid rates.
What I have just described is potentially a bomb of world wide proportions.
Now despite all of that it has not gone off yet.
Science seems to be of the opinion that this planet, the moon, and others are approximately 4.5 billion years old. This is based on radioactivity and Carbon 14 tests. Which could or could not be completely reliable. Check again tomorrow and they may have a different opinion.
The facts do not really add up.
We have a jig saw puzzle of continents that appear to loosely fit together. The theory(educated guess) is that we all belonged at one time to a super continent. Said continent having broken up into pieces and then moved eventually to where all the pieces are now.
Earth also has a planet sized moon. In relationship to the Earth it is one of the largest moons in the solar system. This is relevant only because our moon provides energy and tides. All of which pull on the continents.
So, yes, we will have tides and we will have multiple earthquakes all over the place as part of the normal running of things.
On occasion we will have new volcanoes as well and some of which will explode with the power of atomic bombs.
To make things more interesting it is likely that fringe groups all over the world just might blow those atomic bombs up and destroy a good portion of life on this planet in the process.
The key here is mutation. Most of which is self-destructive to the point that no one wins.
Again a key bomb in the right place and the entire egg shell we call continents might come apart.
Not that random behavior of the Universe may not have produced many worlds similar to the Earth. The number of stars and planets in this Universe is huge. Very huge. Our galaxy alone has millions of stars and we have not stopped exploring so the number goes up as we speak.
I take comfort in the claim in the Bible that the Earth was created by our God with all of its features.
The science knowledge at the time the Bible was compiled from the many religious documents of the time was abominal. Many people actually believed we are the center of the Universe and the Earth is flat and if you travel far enough in one direction you might fall off of it.
Above our heads was a paradise in which people went if they were good. Beneath our feet was a punishment place called Hell full of demons to make afterlife torture.
With science leading the way, there is a hellish very hot core on the planet, so I see where that might have come from.
Above our heads beyond our atmosphere is a semi-vacuum with temperatures way below zero F. and equally high temperatures with exposure to the moon.
I find it interesting that the religious tale has changed because no one actually knows if Heaven and Hell exist. My own opinion is that both exist and become apparent after we die. But that also means that something survives death such as a ghost that detaches itself after our body dies or even before death.
There is considerable evidence towards such a conclusion but it is all circumstantial at this point in time.
So our real choices are whether or not we believe.
This also is relevant only because the natural disasters of this world give us a probable chance that the planet itself will cause our deaths.
We have been on this planet for at least 225,000 years if science is to be believed. In that time, many disasters have occurred. Many of which have driven mankind right back to primitive living.
The Bible itself has many mysteries we have yet to solve.
I believe there is a God over it all. It is a living entity over which the entire universe operates. I believe in Jesus Christ as my saviour.
The details are trivial. With a possible death within the next 26-30 years what do we actually have to lose by accepting Jesus?
Thus Earthquakes and Volcanoes are all part of the process.
It would be nice to know the details of how things work.

    • GSOB

…..”The details are trivial. With a possible death within the next 26-30 years what do we actually have to lose by accepting Jesus?”……

“Science seems to be of the opinion that this planet, the moon, and others are approximately 4.5 billion years old. This is based on radioactivity and Carbon 14 tests.”

I’ve never understood this type of criticism. First of all, an omnipotent God can create the entire Universe in any amount of time including all the fake fossil and carbon dating evidence. And second, is your faith in God so weak that the teaching of evolution is actually an issue? It’s seems as if your argument with science’s “opinion’s” is an attempt to convince yourself. Most scientist would say the earth and moon being billions of years old is a science fact. Scientists really do not care what religious fanatics think by most accounts.

      • Preacher62

You do not understand the criticism because you do not understand original sin and redemption. What part of “Jesus died for you” are you so opposed to?

Years ago, the EQ measuring system was changed a full 1.0 point DOWN. In addition, even today they do not report all of the EQs that are happening. Now, why would the world do this? That is the question one seeking the Truth should be asking. For those of you who just scoffingly discount them by saying the Earth has always done this, well then, we know you’re not seeking the Truth.

Maybe the ’90s, but I could be wrong. I don’t recall the reasoning (magnitudes getting stronger, better equipment, technology). Regardless, one cannot say a 3.0 EQ today is the same as one rated 3.0 many years ago.

  • SpecialK

The number of quakes has dramatically been increasing every year and jumped off big time after the year 2000 or so. It’s pretty insane if you look at comparisons. Back in the 70s there were maybe 5-10k a year or something, now there are 100k. Part of the birth pains.

Again, more earthquakes, volcanic activity, excessive moisture as rain & snow, are precursors of severe global cooling–little ice age–and now they have found the North Sea is cooling fairly fast. They had trouble with wheat crops in Norway. There is much more going on in Northern Europe & the British Isles. Multiple millions will starve if we don’t wipe ourselves out with our clubs & spears. Trolls are little evil-doers who live under old bridges. Trolling fishermen morphed into trolling the internet have too much time on their hands, which could be better used preparing themselves for what’s coming, including the return of our Savior.
