In 1 Out Of Every 5 American Families, Nobody Has A Job

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

Family Silhouette - Public Domain 2If nobody is working in one out of every five U.S. families, then how in the world can the unemployment rate be close to 5 percent as the Obama administration keeps insisting? The truth, of course, is that the U.S. economy is in far worse condition than we are being told. Last week, I discussed the fact that the Federal Reserve has found that 47 percent of all Americans would not be able to come up with $400 for an unexpected visit to the emergency room without borrowing it or selling something. But Barack Obama and his minions never bring up that number. Nor do they ever bring up the fact that 20 percent of all families in America are completely unemployed. The following comes directly from the Bureau of Labor Statistics

In 2015, the share of families with an employed member was 80.3 percent, up by 0.2 percentage point from 2014. The likelihood of having an employed family member rose in 2015 for Black families (from 76.4 percent to 77.7 percent) and for Hispanic families (from 85.9 percent to 86.4 percent). The likelihood for White and Asian families showed little or no change (80.1 percent and 88.6 percent, respectively).

For purposes of this study, families “are classified either as married-couple families or as families maintained by women or men without spouses present” and they include households without children as well as children under the age of 18.

Digging into the numbers, we find that there were a total of 81,410,000 families in America during the 2015 calendar year.

Of that total, 16,060,000 families did not have a single member employed.

So that means that in 19.7 percent of all families in the United States, nobody has a job.

And of course there are lots more families that are “partially employed”. In other words, maybe the wife has a job but the husband does not.

So based on these numbers, it would appear to me that the true rate of unemployment in this country is vastly higher than 5 percent, and John Williams of shadowstats.com agrees with me. According to his calculations, the broadest measure of unemployment in the U.S. would actually be sitting at 22.9 percent if honest numbers were being used.

But let’s not just focus on where we are.

Let’s take a look at where we are going.

According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, job cut announcements by big companies in the United States were up 32 percent during the first quarter of 2016 compared to the first quarter of 2015, and it appears that the job losses are going to continue to mount as we roll into the second quarter. For instance, late last week Intel announced that it is going to be laying off 12,000 workers

As it navigates its path into the future, Intel, the 47-year-old corporation best known for making microprocessor chips that power personal computers, has announced significant changes to its business.

On Tuesday, Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich said in a letter to employees that the company over the next year will cut its 107,300-person global workforce by 12,000 people, or 11 percent.

Those are good middle class jobs, and they are exactly the kind of jobs that we cannot afford to be losing.

Meanwhile, the “retail apocalypse” appears to be accelerating once again.

Bloomberg is reporting that teen clothing chain Aeropostale is preparing to file for bankruptcy.  Aeropostale currently operates more than 800 stores across the nation, and it is unclear if any of them will be able to stay open as this process plays out. But of course it isn’t just Aeropostale that has gone bankrupt lately. Here are a few more examples of major retailers that have recently filed for bankruptcy

April 16, 2016: Vestis Retail Group, the operator of sporting goods retailers Eastern Mountain Sports (camping, hiking, skiing, adventure sports), Bob’s Stores (family clothing and shoes), and Sport Chalet (general sporting goods), filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It will close all 56 stores and stop online sales.

In the filing, it blamed the going-out-of-business sales at “certain Sports Authority locations,” plus the weather, which had been too warm, and trouble with switching to a new software platform. It’s owned by private equity firm Versa Capital Management LLC.

April 7, 2016: Pacific Sunwear of California, clothing retailer with nearly 600 stores and derailed ambitions of skate-and-surf cool, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. PE firm Golden Gate Capital, a lender to the company, agreed to convert over 65% of its loan into equity of the reorganized company and add another $20 million in financing. Wells Fargo agreed to provide $100 million of debtor-in-possession financing.

March 2, 2016: Sports Authority filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It said it would close 140 of its 450 stores, including all stores in Texas.

Just because the stock market has been doing well in recent weeks does not mean that the crisis has passed.

In fact, many experts believe that the crisis of 2016 is just getting started.  Albert Edwards of Societe Generale is one of them

But what I do know is when in the last few weeks I have heard that Janet Yellen sees no bubble in the US, when Ben Bernanke hones and restates his helicopter money speech, and when Mario Draghi says that the ECB’s policy of printing money and negative interest rates was working, I feel utterly depressed (I could also quote similar nonsense from Japan, the UK and China). I have not one scintilla of doubt that these central bankers will destroy the enfeebled world economy with their clumsy interventions and that political chaos will be the ugly result. The only people who will benefit are not investors, but anarchists who will embrace with delight the resulting chaos these policies will bring!

All over the world, the underlying economic fundamentals continue to deteriorate. Here in the U.S., retail sales have been extremely disappointing, total business sales have been steadily falling, corporate revenues and corporate profits continue to plunge, and corporate debt defaults have soared to their highest level since the last financial crisis.

All of these numbers are screaming that a major economic downturn is here, and with each passing week things look even more ominous for the second half of 2016.

And for those of you who DO have jobs – how many of them are good paying jobs which can support a family? Not just Walmart, McDonald’s, Starbucks or delivering pizza. Once you eliminate those, it starts to get scary. It’s easy to see why the middle class is in such bad shape.

    • David

I just wish Obama & his Minions could see past their politically correct blinders how bad the middle class & poor of America is doing. I guess Rose Colored Glasses are very popular right now in DC.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

David… the destruction of the middles class is by design to accomplish New World Order.

        Vote Trump

        • Mike Smithy

Yep, it’s all part of the plan. Death by a thousand cuts. Sears just announced last week that they are closing 10 additional stores as well as sever K-Mart stores.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Yup the traitors dem and repub establishment sold us out for The New World Order….gatt, nafta and cafta all traitorous trade agreements that sent our jobs and factories overseas……all living presidents, congressman, and senators should be charged with treason.

Give Trump credit he sure says what WE THE PEOPLE want….send the illegals out and build the wall. Stop these muslims from entry into the USA. Cut the debt and deficit, jobs, jobs, jobs etc etc etc and the repub establishment is crapping in their pants.

I was waiting for that “Giant sucking noise”. Have been listening to it for years. I remember being warned about it by someone everyone thought was a great big joke. Who’s laughing now?
I personally fail to see the humor in it, it is way too tragic.

    • MeMadMax

After 5-6 some odd years I finally got a decent tech job that pays a couple of bucks more than typical fast food. For the first time in a long time I can say we are coming out of the black. But however, it’s a shaky recovery. If I lose this job at anytime in the next few years it will be devastating so I’m taking the opportunity to win back my certs so that I can get a higher paying tech job.

      Here’s to keeping fingers crossed…

anyone claiming that americas economy is in decline Is peddling fiction

How can anyone think that there are rosie times ahead? Even stock market investors must realize the market Is overstuffed as a Thanksgiving Day turkey. I doubt that 50% of two parent families are free of financial problems. What does anyone have to be hopeful for after the coming election, if there is one?

This country has been blessed with abundance since its inception by Yahwah(God). Even in the worst of times the 30’s we were ok compared to other countries. The USA has truly been Blessed by Yahwah.

We need currency controls to keep illegal aliens from sending the money they obtained here out of the USA instead of creating jobs here.

  • William Lutz

I truly relate my perspective to this article. I live a few miles from the Orlando airport and in the area I come across people who seem to be unemployed or have an unstable job. In my neighborhood there is an old run down Kmart store that closed a few years ago, there is an underperforming Big Lots, there are homeless bums living on the nearest streets, and the closest Dollar Tree is booming with customers. Hence, I am planning to move out of this town soon.

    • alexb1

I live in FL too (for most of the year) and I find it hysterical that in areas where there are few employment opportunities, developers keep building “upscale” developments as if the area were booming. I was up in the Orlando area a few weeks ago and the one thing I noticed was an overabundance of half-finished McManse developments in Winter Garden to the West and in Kissimmee to the South. Orlando itself is the same pit it has always been still predominately propped up by theme parks. Most people in the area make “a wage” a/o/t a huge lucrative salary so who do the developers think are going to be able afford the McManses (and even if the prices are dropped significantly, these people still won’t be able to comfortably afford Orlando’s high property taxes, FL’s ridiculous homeowner’s insurance premiums, CCDs and HOA fees, on top of their basic mortgage payments)?

      • I’ve believed for quite a while that these developments, built with mucho taxpayer-funded tax breaks, are for the new rich who will begin appearing in these areas just as soon as it’s driven to its lowest level of economic activity with lots of cheap labor around to work in and for the newly arriving residents. It sounds like a fantasy, but this is how economies deal with recessions.

You just don’t hear from the “other half” that much.. especially on this board.. but they are out there.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

Bravo! I took my money and ran away from Orlando years ago.
But unlike you, not because of the homeless and downtrodden who have been given a terrible shaft there, but because of the manipulative and inflative practices of the companies, govt agencies, and the inhabitants there.
I went to SouthWest Florida afterwards, migrated up that coast a few years, and now I am happily in Tampa where I am trying to buy a house in inner city just like Michael recommended.

      • ALWAYSTOMORROW

Tpa area is beautiful to fly into.

      • William Lutz

Good luck to you. I am looking forward to live in Wauchula or Sarasota. South West Florida is one of the best places to settle in.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

Never been to Wauchula, but Sarasota is a rather funky place.. you have high-end tourist motels, ghetto, a very surprisingly large Mennonite community, and upscale beach community all-in-one.. you sure won’t find that everywhere! I doubted my judgements on the guy w/the long beard and hat till I saw the lady in the long skirt and so-forth riding a bicycle and passed the New Dutch or something community sign. Florida is not the place that I expected to see anything Amish looking.

They technically could be considered on leave without pay? That way they are not counted as out of work but rather just on an extended vacation.

  • Lloyd C. Blankfein

John Williams has made bank and a rep on the “real unemployment” figure for like 8 years now.

I wish I could do the same off my wife’s figure.

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

Of shadowstats and his unemployment numbers are real….

      • Lloyd C. Blankfein

We know. Because all doom and gloomers have been referring to him for years like he’s the Pope of Rome.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

I dont trust the Pope of Rome either……

          • Lloyd C. Blankfein

Very wise. Stick with Williams. He has no vested interest in being the single source of scary data.

    • alexb1

Hey LLoyd, Just read on Reuter’s that you guys (Goldman Sachs) are offering savings accounts to the masses for as little as $1 on deposit in the account. How bad were those numbers really before you cooked them up and presented them to Wall Street last week? Also, to open an account, does one need to sign an oath to worship Baphomet or what?

[I know you are not Lloyd B, but I couldn’t resist. Campy responses are welcome though! 😉 ]

      • Lloyd C. Blankfein

Those accounts are only for China and India. There are so many of them that we can still make a profit at the current rates of interest. We are looking at boosting investments in the Colombian pharmaceuticals industry with the returns.

  • Robert

I do not see a fix for this. How do you force corporations to keep plants here and should that be done? How do you force companies that are obsolete to stay in business? Americans are addicted to cheap stuff. They are not going to buy Xmas lights made here and costing 3 or 4 times what they do made in China. Technology is out distancing labor needs. As awful as it sounds and agreeing with blogger Fred Reed, the vast majority of Americans have no value to the economy as far as production. Their only value is consuming which is the big nail in our economic coffin. We say we believe in capitalism but the gist here is mercantilism and protecting our own producers. That is all well and good except a Corolla will cost three times what it does now. The govt is going to have to give even more money to people to spend. They are not going to be employable ever again. Check out small town America. It is dead. The disease is progressing into urban areas so that huge parts of cities are dead or dying. There will be no migrating to other parts of the country for a better life eg. Grapes of Wrath style. The middle class was a post WWII phenomena and now that run is over. There will be no making America great again whatever that looked like. I grew up poor. The middle class lived high but turns out it was on credit. Turn out the lights. Somebody is going to pay the bill.

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

Man oh man doom and gloom…..there are many many people in this country ready to work…..we need a tariff and the factories will come back….manufacturing is a source of a countries wealth. Our traitorous leaders promoted unfavorable to the US trade agreements gatt nafta and cafta and these wiped our factories out.

      VOTE TRUMP

      • Robert

There is no way that the US will walk away from the treaties it has negotiated and signed. Treaties trump the Constitution. The boat sailed. Donald Trump makes a lot of noise and even if elected he will get nothing done with the congress and the legions of lobbyists and lawyers. Yes, doom and gloom because a large part of our population is doomed. They have no future. Tragic but true. Even if jobs opened up, many young people do not know how to work or be responsible. If Snyders numbers are correct, too many are ill or drugged up to be any good to a company. Yes. It is gloomy.

        • 8540win

If elected, Trump closes borders, it will be a start….just where do you think those drugged up young people get the drugs that are destroying them. Heroin is coming from Mexico. The other side of the coin is many of our fellow South American “citizens” are in cahoots with the illegal drug traffickers, another source of under the table money.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

How much prior political experience does Trump have?
            NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!

He talks the talk, but never walked the walk.
But hey.. it’s only THE PRESIDENCY!
Maybe next we’ll grab people off the street w/no medical training to do surgery!
Ok, neither did Ulysses Grant or Dwight Eisenhower have a prior politcal position, though both had a strong military background. Dwight being ” The Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in World War II”
and Grant “Commanding General of the United States Army”

How much military background does Trump have? NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!
“no major U.S. company has filed for Chapter 11 more than Trump’s casino empire in the last 30 years.”
He has filed four business bankruptcies. Maybe he thinks it’s just as easy to file bankruptcy w/the entire government and walk away.

          • Mike Smithy

Sunny, in all honesty, did Obama “Walk the Walk” before he was elected? Did Obama have any experience to suggest he was ready for the job?

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Obama was a Senator for goodness sakes. Trump has never worked a public service job in his life!

          • Mike Smithy

Obama never voted on an issue while he was in the Senate.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

Obama proved himself as a public servant
“In his first session (109th Congress), he was involved in immigration reform. Legislation bearing his name was passed for armament reduction and federal transparency as well as relief aid. In the first year of the 110th Congress, he worked on lobbying and campaign finance reform, election reform, climate control and troop reduction.” and it goes on from there..
Trump has done nothing other than flap his lips.

          • Jerry C

I thought you didn’t believe in God? Yet, you believe in the Anti-Christ. Nice.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Obama is/was nothing but a puppet and all these issues that he “the puppet” worked on allowed him to have a look good record

          • Robert

With respect, if Americans were not addicted, there would be no drug flow from outside our borders. The drug kings fill a market need. If not them, then someone else. The border might be made tighter but never closed. Border agents can be bribed to look the other way. Happens. Americans are their own worst enemy using drugs. No one forced them.

          • 8540win

With respect, I would suggest you might consider researching the Opium Wars and what China dealt with and how they rid themselves of what was destroying their people. The Chinese were no different in their vulnerability in assisting the drug kings “filling a market need”, and those suppliers were the British and later the Japanese. No one forced the Chinese to use drugs either. You are indeed correct that “border agents can be bribed”, 52% of US border agents are Hispanic, which proves my point regarding so called “Citizens” being in cahoots with the cartels.

        • Bill G Wilminton NC

Nafta, Gatt and Cafta are trade agreements NOT TREATIES and TRUMP will renegotiate these agreements in a heartbeat… less than a heartbeat !.

Free Trade is not FAIR TRADE an import tariff will level the playing field.

Trump will wipe out Hillary…..this will be a mandate from WE THE PEOPLE….The OLD HAG murdered 5 men in BENGHAZI Ambassador Stephens and 4 Marines

There are millions of people who want to work……those will go to work !

“A trade agreement (also known as trade pact) is a wide ranging tax, tariff and trade treaty that often includes investment guarantees. The most common trade agreements are of the preferential and free trade types are concluded in order to reduce (or eliminate) tariffs, quotas and other trade restrictions on items traded between the signatories.” From Wikipedia.

You can find a similar definition in a Business Dictionary. They are treaties.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

The agreements/treaties gatt nafta and cafta will be renegotiated or dropped Trump is right on the money as usual.

            Thanks for your thoughts…….

        • Gay Veteran

we walked away from the ABM treaty

          • Robert

Good point. Jimmy Carter also unilaterally abrogated the defense treaty with Taiwan. I am guessing with big money at stake and lobbyists for overseas nations that Trump will not make any headway with trade agreements. Trump is used to firing people. He will be shocked at just how few people in govt can be fired. I do not believe he can be elected but if he is, he will never execute a single item in his campaign.

            Cheers.

Jefferson warned of “big government”, big banks, and government debt, but those with much less intelligence chose to ignore him. He feared big banks more than standing armies. Throw in departure from God and the advent of Liberalism, and the result is what we see. The hubris–excessive arrogance and pride–is the trademark of Liberalism. It brought the devil down and it is bringing us down. We are watching the greatest transfer of wealth the world has ever known, and the middle-class is on the road to extinction. Reckless government policies, reckless spending, reckless spending by the populace, etc, brings on one whale of a wreck. Fiddlin

It is noteworthy that both Jefferson and Franklin knew of the Glubb limit and cautioned that only the blood of tyrants could refresh the tree of liberty. After 200 years, a lot of barnacles start to appear on the boat. You either blast them off or you sink to Davy Jone’s locker. That’s life, it can be really rough but they knew that when they founded the nation.

    • SunnyFlaSnotress

Jefferson was a slave holder.. for what it’s worth.. He took up with one of his slaves as his soulmate.
Perhaps his times and its governing were a little different? (this is understatement for the big crew that likely does not catch nuance)
This story,.. which has been going around,.. and its statistic are MEANINGLESS unless an comparable statistic on the number of retired families are included.. as there has been a surge in retirees.

      • tim sweeney

Just like there has been a surge in the number of people on disability know, which rumor has it, the Social Security Disability Trust Fund will run out on money this year, in 2016. That didn’t stop Obama from sending his legal team to the “new” Supreme Court last week, to argue for giving disability benefits to millions of imigrants now. We all know the govt fudges the employment numbers, but few realize to what extent. Since Obama was elected, ALL the employment gains have ALL gone to foreign workers. American workers, American citizens, have continued to lose jobs and income net/net at an accelerating pace. For instance, those 300, 000 jobs Obama bragged about creating in December? Not even ONE job went to even ONE American worker, they all went to “designated foreign workers”. Whom Obama is bringing in like gangbusters. Populations are surging in every state now, as are FBI terror investigations who, according to the Director, William Conlie, his agency is simply “overwhelmed” by the sheer numbers of new muslim refugees, Obama’s immediate response was to bring in 100, 000 more, saying that “no one can stop me from bringing in as many unvetted muslims as I want, to any state I want, at any time I want. No One. He announced the building of 13 new military-base style housing and training mega-centers for the huge numbers of immigrants he seems hell-bent on bringing here. If it’s true that he’s only bringing in another 100, 000, then would not need 13 bases, he would need just one or two.

        • SunnyFlaSnotress

Yes, the rise in disability claims, that have been erroneously granted, yet also sometimes age/demographically related, (though this number is far likely less influential than the rise in the retiree aged), along with the influx of immigrants,.. also inflates the empty statistic on the number of families without jobs

    • ISA41:10

      Liberalism = Evil

      • SunnyFlaSnotress

        RightWing = Hitler
Kimmy .. psst.. keeping that guys (whats-his-name-again) philosophy going.

        • Mike Smithy

Come on now Sunny, everybody knows Hitler was a National Socialist which is a left wing ideology. Ideologically speaking, Hitler had alot in common with Bernie Sanders whom is a self proclaimed Democratic Socialist.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

lol.. Hitler was a lot more RightWing than similar to Bernie.. Socialists can be RightWing too.

          • Mike Smithy

Wrong. You make the mistake of believing that Fascism and Socialism is to the right of the political spectrum. In all honesty, Fascism and Socialism is to the left of the political spectrum. Liberty (rights of the individual) and personal responsibility are on the right. Fascism, and Marxism are the two primary forms of Socialism, but for decades the political left has told the lie that Fascism is on the Political right.

Fascists pursue government control of the economy, the people, and everything else. Since Fascism is statist, and those on the political right embrace personal freedom and responsibility, Fascism has no logical relationship to the Conservative ideology of the political right.

          • SunnyFlaSnotress

          • Mike Smithy

Sunny, are you referring to RINO’s? If so, you have a valid point. However, I must insist that RINO’s are not real conservatives. That is why they are called RINO’s. They are political opportunists whom are fake conservatives.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            wrong…………..

          • Steeve Girard

Unfortunately true. The direct example: Corporate Fascism.

          • Mike Smithy

Nope. Both communism & fascism are forms of socialism– they are both totalitarian & leftist oriented. Neither recognize the rights of the individual. Communism is where the State has total ownership of the means of production. Fascism is where the means of production is still in private ownership, but the State has total control over the production of goods– wages, quotas, who works where, how those goods are distributed & to whom. This also may be implemented by degrees. In the USSA, the government chooses the winners and losers, whereby profits are privatized and losses are laid at the feet of the tax payers. Therefore, there is no substantive difference as to you want to call it Corporate Fascism or Crony Capitalism. They are both forms of Socialism, Collectivism, Statism or whatever you want to call it.

you forgot that Hitler came to power in a CONSERVATIVE coalition.

          • Mike Smithy

Must I really keep repeating myself? OK, fine, try to pay attention. Various factions among modern academia often cite that Hitler came to power with a coalition of “Conservatives”. However, this label is an oversimplification and technically inaccurate. The so called “Conservatives” were headed by a coalition of Industrialists/robber barons and by today’s standard, they would be categorized as fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Although they were staunch advocates of personal property rights, they did not embrace the notion of labor unions and the divine rights of the individual. These industrialists actually believed that they could control Hitler’s National Socialist ambitions and felt compelled to take part in an unholy alliance in an effort to thwart the political ambitions of the Communist political factions threatening control of the German Republic. In other words, conventional wisdom at the time dictated that the devil you know is worse than the devil you don’t know.

          • Gay Veteran

            again, from history dot com:

“…Hitler was not appeased. He wanted the chancellorship for himself. Papen’s policies failed on another front: His authoritarian rule alienated his supporters, and he too was forced to resign. He then made common cause with Hitler, persuading President Hindenburg to appoint Hitler chancellor and himself vice-chancellor. He promised the president that he would restrain Hitler’s worst tendencies and that a majority of the Cabinet would go to non-Nazis. As Hindenburg’s current chancellor could no longer gain a majority in the Reichstag, and Hitler could bring together a larger swath of the masses and a unified RIGHT/CONSERVATIVE/NATIONIST coalition, the president gave in. In January 1933, Hitler was named chancellor of Germany….”

And with the lack of work and well paying jobs, comes the lack of taxes to pay the ever demanding government. Where will the money come from? I fear the first hit will be from the 401K coffers that the middle class has amassed. The baby boomers have and are coming of age to withdraw now. A significant tax increase on their retirement nest would deplete it quickly. The rich will fight to the end, but their amassed wealth will be the only feasible well left to draw water from.

However, if the majority are in poverty and people continue to become the working poor there will be LIMITED demand and less choice. It is happening now in our country. I see the changes all the time and reality is the country will be of a lower class as the middle class disappears. The world will never reach what the US was 20 years ago before SHTF. Things will not get better and the best of times in this country have past us 10 years ago. You can not continue to create demand with debt. Eventually it evolves into a sheepal world.

Then the Angel of God, who was leading the people of Israel, moved the cloud around behind them and it stood between the people of Israel and the Egyptians.

And that night, as it changed to a pillar of fire, it gave darkness to the Egyptians but light to the people of Israel! (Wow)

So the Egyptians couldn’t find the Israelis! (Wonderful protection)

Meanwhile, Moses stretched his rod over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the sea, with walls of water on each side; and a strong east wind blew all that night, drying the sea bottom.

So the people of Israel walked through the sea on dry ground!
    (Amazing)

Then the Egyptians followed them between the walls of water along the bottom of the sea, all of Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and horsemen.
    (Gutsy pride)

But in the early morning Jehovah looked down from the cloud of fire upon the array of the Egyptians and began to harass them. (LOL)
Their chariot wheels began coming off so that their chariots scraped along the dry ground.

    “Let’s get out of here,”
    the Egyptians yelled.
“Jehovah is fighting for them and against us.”
    (Fascinating)

Why only one God? There could be an infinite number of Gods. How would you ever know the difference between supernatural intervention from one God or another. It would appear to be all from the same God.

      • GSOB

By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
        choosing
        rather to endure
ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.…

    • jsmith

Well, that’s cool if you believe in the bible. Personally, I think Moses hardly had to work getting his tribe out, as he was kicked out of Egypt with his brethren. The ancient Egyptian’s were notorious for recording events on their temple walls, and I would think Ramses would have made a great celebration of this event!

Cloud by day, fire by night. Pretty awesome.

Even republican front runner Donald Trump has warned that really bad times are coming. He’s just hoping the bubble bursts before he gets into office or it’ll be blamed on him. Stupid I know, since it’s starting the ‘burst’ already. But you how dumb people can be.

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

He will be blamed…..but the people will know the truth because as we get closer to TRUMP winning he will be telling what is coming and the cracks will be everywhere….and we will be very busy getting ready to defend our homes and family….load up.

But the other spectrum is that The Elites of The New World Order will ferment riots in the cities which will allow them to declare martial law and cancel the elections.

Is this country entering a Herbert Hoover moment?

  • you really think that a new president – whoever it will be – is going to stand up or is able to change the system? Change must come from deep within. But this center already has been occupied by the US financial system together with the almighty Israel lobby. No more space left for the crowd.

    • Bill G Wilminton NC

Stand-up for we the people YES….and change the direction of the system from straight down YES….

I recall reading the claim at Chris Martenson’s website that there has been a series of emergency meetings of the Fed of late, so perhaps the Fed actually knows that something big and bad is in fact about to go down.

A family in Cleveland found a way to beat the collapse:They sent their 12 year old outside with a pellet gun to aim at the police when they approached him.Upshot:The city-all the taxpayers-just paid the family six million for the necessary action of the officers.

    • DB200

This is not funny. Probably you are not a parent else you would have refrained from such a cynical remark.

  • “V”

Lets be honest here (or the opposite of Sunnyflasnotress) the majority of jobs created have been low wage service sector jobs, barely enough to support ones self let alone a family. The timeline for the economic collapse may speed up as people get desperate to support themselves. Not Sunnyflasnotress perform actions along alleyways of Ybor city desperate, but desperate just the same.

I work on the internet from home and barely go out except to visit my boyfriend of 12 years.
      Change not to note.

      • REALIST

12 year boyfriend? Boring. But, he gets “it” for free.

Is that the “Gay Veteran” who post here? What a lovely couple you two must make.

Good grief! Has the man never heard of retirement? I’m not unemployed. I neither want nor need a job. I am retired and happily living off of my investments.

  • DB200

Michael, I have been laid off this month. If I manage to get a same job (if, not when) my salary will drop 1000-1500 a month. People who actually believe the recovery story, are complete idiots,

One of the reasons the American people are in this predictimint is take a minute and look at all the blogs on here, we are fighting one another instead of the one who are causing this, and they aren’t going to say anything, because as long as us people fight one another, the powers that be have nothing to worry.

When jobs/careers started to be out sourced, no one said or did anything about it. Sure people talk about it now, but golly it’s a little to late, you think!! When gas prices went to $ 4.00 to $ 5.00 a gallon, once again a lotta belly aching but no action. You can’t win like that!!!

Folks, we gotta stop fighting one another and unite to beat the ones in power who have almost ruined this great nation!!

      Amen!
      Mark 3:25 says:

“All of these numbers are screaming that a major economic downturn is here, and with each passing week things look even more ominous for the second half of 2016”
    or maybe first half of 2017 . . . or . . . .
Question . . . is there a posting any place in this blog that explains why all the 101 previous estimates of impending doom were wrong?
