27 Signs That The Nuclear Crisis In Japan Is Much Worse Than Either The Mainstream Media Or The Japanese Government Have Been Telling Us

How much of a threat is the nuclear crisis in Japan?  That question is on the minds of millions of people around the globe tonight.  Unfortunately, the Japanese government and the mainstream media have both been doing their best to downplay this crisis.  Even though there have been massive explosions at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear facility, authorities in Japan have still been very stingy with information and they keep insisting that the situation is under control.  But the situation is not under control.  In fact, it just seems to get worse with each passing day.  Radiation levels are now incredibly high at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex and the radiation cloud is starting to spread.  Radiation levels in Tokyo are already 10 times above normal levels, and there are reports in the international media that some people have begun to flee the city.  It is imperative that the Japanese government tell the truth about what is going on because this could potentially affect the health of millions of people.  There are over 12 million people in the city of Tokyo alone.  If this nuclear crisis continues to get worse it could potentially end up killing more Japanese than the tsunami just did.

Yes, things really are that serious.

We are not just talking about a repeat of Chernobyl.

We are possibly talking about “many Chernobyls”.

It is somewhat understandable that the Japanese government and the mainstream media do not want to panic the public, but the reality is that people need the truth about what is going on.

Unfortunately, it is not likely that the Japanese government or the mainstream media are going to “change their stripes” overnight, so in order to try to get an idea of what is really going on we need to look at the clues.

Sometimes it is much more important to watch what people are doing rather than what they are saying.

For example, a significant number of foreign governments are now evacuating personnel from Tokyo.

Why would they be evacuating if there was no threat?

Posted below are 27 signs that the nuclear crisis in Japan is much worse than either the mainstream media or the Japanese government have been telling us.  When you take all of these clues and you put them together it really does paint a frightening picture….

#1 Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan is urging all people living within 30 kilometers of the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear facility to stay indoors.

#2 Andre-Claude Lacoste, the head of France’s Nuclear Safety Authority, says that the containment vessel surrounding the No. 2 reactor at Japan’s Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear complex is “no longer sealed“.

#3 Radiation levels in Tokyo are already 10 times above normal levels.

#4 Reuters is reporting that some residents of Tokyo are already starting to flee the city.

#5 Radiation levels in one city north of Tokyo, Utsunomiya, were recently reported to be 33 times above normal levels.

#6 Radiation levels in the city of Saitama have been reported to be 40 times above normal levels.

#7 According to Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan, the “possibility of further radioactive leakage is heightening.

#8 The Japanese government is admitting that radiation levels near the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex are very harmful to human health.

#9 According to the World Nuclear Association, exposure to over 100 millisieverts of radiation a year can lead to cancer.  At this point the level of radiation being measured right outside the number 4 reactor at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex is 400 millisieverts per hour.

#10 A U.S. Navy crew that was assisting in relief efforts was exposed to a month’s worth of nuclear radiation in just a single hour.

#11 According to the U.S. Navy, low levels of radiation have been detected at their bases in Yokosuka and Atsugi.

#12 The USS Ronald Reagan recently detected significant levels of radiation 100 miles off the Japanese coast.

#13 The operator of the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex has pulled out 750 of the 800 workers that were working at the facility.

#14 The French embassy in Tokyo is advising French citizens to leave the city.

#15 The German embassy in Tokyo is advising all German citizens to leave the country entirely.

#16 German technology company SAP is evacuating their offices in Tokyo.

#17 Austria has announced that it is moving its embassy from Tokyo to Osaka due to fears about the radiation.

#18 Finland is urging all of their citizens to leave Tokyo.

#19 The Czech military is sending planes to Japan specifically to evacuate the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

#20 Air China is canceling many flights to Tokyo.

#21 The Chinese Embassy has announced that it will be evacuating all Chinese citizens from the Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki and Iwate prefectures.

#22 Russia is making preparations to evacuate civilians and military units from the Kuril Islands.

#23 Physicist Frank von Hippel recently told the New York Times the following about this disaster: “It’s way past Three Mile Island already”.

#24 The president of France’s nuclear safety authority says that this crisis is now almost as bad as Chernobyl was….

“It’s clear we are at Level 6, that’s to say we’re at a level in between what happened at Three Mile Island and Chernobyl.”

#25 There have been reports of extremely high radiation at another nuclear facility in Japan.  It has been reported that at the Onagawa nuclear plant radiation that is 700 times the normal level was detected at one point.

#26 One anonymous senior nuclear industry executive told The Times Of India that Japanese power industry managers are “basically in a full-scale panic” and that “they don’t know what to do”.

#27 It is also being reported that there were over 600,000 spent fuel rods stored at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex.  Most of these rods were apparently stored near the top of the 6 reactor buildings.  There have already been major explosions at three of those buildings.  It is now feared that there is now nothing to prevent many of these spent fuel rods from releasing radiation into the atmosphere.  That is really, really bad news.

So is there a threat that nuclear radiation from Japan could reach the United States?

Well, actually everyone agrees that radiation could reach the United States.  The controversy is whether or not it will be enough to be harmful to human health.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is admitting that it is “quite possible” that nuclear fallout from this disaster could reach the United States.  In fact, Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman David McIntyre says that there could already be radiation from Japan over America….

Right now it’s quite possible that there could be some radiation floating over the United States.

But most government officials in the U.S. are insisting that there is “no threat” to the health of American citizens from this crisis at this point.

So how would nuclear radiation from Japan get transported to the United States?

Well, if radiation released by a damaged nuclear reactor got up into the jet stream, the first major land mass that it would encounter would be North America.  In fact, the jet stream commonly takes air from over Japan directly over the west coast of the United States.  The following video demonstrates this fact beautifully….

So is there any reason for those of us living in the United States to be concerned?

According to the Japanese government, the U.S. government and the mainstream media there is not.

But do you believe them?

The truth is that they seem much more concerned with keeping the public calm rather than telling the public the truth.

Radiation levels are increasing all over northern and central Japan.  People are starting to leave Tokyo and other major cities in the region.  Foreign governments are evacuating personnel.  Fires continue to erupt at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex.  The authorities in Japan seem to have no idea how to solve this crisis.

If even one of those damaged nuclear reactors fully melts down it is going to be a complete and total nightmare.  If you live in an area that could potentially be affected by nuclear radiation from Japan you might want to start figuring out how you and your family are going to handle this crisis.

  • JLouise

This is a wait-and-see situation. But the nuclear radiation isn’t going to be “under control” so to speak for a long, long time.

  • michelle

Potassium Iodide, wheatgrass, and leafy greens for detox, leave it levels get too high.

This really sucks for Japan, but evidently it’s going to suck for a lot more people than just the Japanese.

    South America anyone?

  • mondobeyondo

You won’t get the truth from the mainstream media or the government. The best place to find the truth is on YouTube and the foreign press. You’re unlikely to get it from U.S. news media, or maybe even Japanese media. The people posting videos on YouTube are on the front lines, video recording things as they see them.

Big American media is basically in a battle for the highest Nielsen ratings. They all say they are the number 1 news network. Believe it or not, that’s actually possible! If ABC, CBS and NBC each have 33.33% of the population tuning in each night, then they would all be number 1 in news…I suppose.

Their basic format seems to be – got to mention Chernobyl and Three Mile Island a couple times, show some 25-30 year old news footage, film of an H-bomb going off, and remind the population that the radiation released from the Japanese nuclear plant is less than what you’d get from an X ray. (Here is where the “special medical report” segment comes in! Hee hee!) X rays are useful in medical science. Chemotherapy helps cure cancer! Even the sun beams radiation every day (insert video of cute young women tanning on the beach – just don’t mention mellanoma, whatever else you do!) Radiation is good!

    So nobody worries….

Its scary how we’ve created such powerful materials that we don’t need a war, terrorism or other bad decisions to kill us … an earthquake, in the wrong place at the wrong time, could potentially wipe millions of people out. What a sobering thought.

  • http://www.planorperish.com/ Gutter Economist

Forget about the government or news media. Here is software that you can use to monitor radiation levels using the internet.

    http://www.geigercounters.com/NetworkVersion.htm

Radiation protection does not have to be Potassium Iodide. It can also be in the form of Nascent Iodine.

Lufthansa has also suspended flights to Japan. And recent reports from Tokyo report twenty times normal levels radiation, noting “normal” and “legal” are two different things.

  • Jordi

Thanks for this great article, it makes a lot of sense what you are saying. In Chernobyl only one reactor exploded, here we have already seen trouble with 4 reactors and two additional ones could potentially malfunction in the next days. In fact, I don’t believe that anybody really knows how much radioactivity has already been released, but I think you are right about the fact that all the evacuations can only mean that those who do have first-hand information believe that the outcome will be much worse. Can you imagine which consequences would have a release of a considerable amount of radioactivity into the sea?

  • Spencer

Now if only we can figure out how taxing the rich would solve this, Gary2 might be happy.

    WAIT!

    no…I don’t think that would help….

BP oil spill, tsunami in Thailand, Challenger explodes, chernobyl, earthquake in Haiti….this too shall pass.

This seems sad, this seems sudden. But come on, we have millions of kids dying of malnutrition all the time. All of the above disasters pale in comparison to current human natural disasters caused by poverty, aids, poor access to water, …

Wake me up when a real disaster occurs – when the death toll is in the billions or threatens the survival of our species. As is…to the species….this is less eventful then people like to pretend that it is.

Soon they’ll be telling us that radiation is actually good for us, it’ll make your %$#@* grow bigger… Radiation is everywhere even in Central Park, NY. so don’t worry about Radiation, we all have to die of something. What? Radiation in the water? It just adds to the flavor and fizz…. If you have cancer, it’ll be a free medical treatment… Radiation shops will soon open in corner store near you… Come and get it, we are offering a 50% discount for a family of four…. When you are given radiation, make radiation drinks, and sell, sell, sell….

When the Tokyo 9.0 Quake arrives–Japanese will see and feel the results of the Genocides they perpetrated on Asia.

The emperor went on National T.V. last night to discuss the disaster.

The emperor never went on T.V. to express contrition for the Japanese murder of 20 MILLION FELLOW ASIANS!!!

  • http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com Wood Burner

The media (internet included) uses radiation as a tool of fear whenever it is expedient for them to do so. Given world events in the last month perhaps the handlers have decided that it’s time to rattle the cages of their pets and make them even more compliant prior to the great unraveling.

How many nuclear explosions did the military detonate during open air tests mid-1900’s, both here in our country and in the Pacific? As well as other countries? Apparently those did not irradiate our parents enough for them not to have the ability to procreate.

Do not give in to knee-jerk fear based reactions. Airport scanners, x-rays and cat scans, as well as many other sources, all bombard us with radiation on a daily basis. Nature is a remarkably efficient filter and the alarmists are usually wrong, no matter what the subject (witness global warming as one example). Wonder what the downside to overdosing on potassium iodide is?

Get ready, prepare to be in survival mode for a long while and, above all, have faith. We already know how it ends……

  • Karl

I just read that some nuclear professor said that it’s a 74,000 – 1 chance that this could happen to the nuk plants in CA. WOW!! I wonder what the odds were before at the Japan plant before the quake.

It is so stupid that these scientist think they are mother nature. If she want’s it to happen it’s going too. You can’t control an earthquake. This is just the begining.

Many years ago Kobe was suppose to be the earthquake prood city in Japan. What happended to it?

We have wind, water, sun and crops to fuel our country. Every city should have incinerators to burn garbage for power.

Last night the MSM – or at least CNN’s Anderson Cooper – repeatedly reported that they are at at point of distrust in what they are being told by the authorities. He actually used the terms “lies and deception” when referring to the authorities.

The optimist in me wants to believe that this will signal a new era of reporting – the truth. Perhaps I hope for too much.

Just read Fukushima 50: Not afraid to die.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/03/15/eveningnews/main20043554.shtml

We are praying for them, their families, and their country.

We are also praying every nuclear plant in the world gets shut down until we can make them safe to operate and find a way to use or store the waste material safely. To continue as they have been is insanity.

  • George Schultz

    Well you are an alarmist.

It is dangerous and will be costly to clean up to be sure. But you don’t state that even to this day only 50 people died from the Chernobyl meltdown and no one died from 3 mile island.

As far as rebuilding along the coast in Japan goes. They shouldn’t do it. They need to create an unpopulated 10 mile swath along the eastern coast of their island because this will happen again. When is always the question.

Nuclear installations should likewise be located more on the west coast leaving central and eastern Japan powered by more conventional means.

Not saying all is going to be well but I have faith in the Japanese. With international help (guess where that will come from) and if they learn from this incident (like we did not after Katrina in rebuilding New Orleans) , after a decade or so things will sort themselves out.

Post apocalyptic earth: war torn, resource depleted, debris strewn, burned-out, shit hole.

Looks like we’ll be seeing how the elite survive when it truly becomes law of the jungle again. When they can’t hide behind gated communities or in bunkers or any place on earth and have to face a desperate world they thought they wanted and could control. ************************? Just kidding! The elite are just a bunch of ******** with money, savage and ruthless when they can remain in secret. They are blinded by out of control ambitions and to power drunk to see in end they are bringing about their own ruin too.

I wonder if humanity will ever have truly enlightened leadership and power brokers who do the right things for all of humanity and not just for the profits or interests of a handful megalomaniacs before its to late?

The lesson, in a matter of moments a strong, important nation like Japan can be brought to the brink of ruin. The “elite” every where should shudder for a moment at this thought.

What concerns me is that we have two reactors of the same type in California designed to only withstand a 7.5 magnitude quake. Come on people, the chances of the quake to come to be higher than that are pretty good. Are we to repeat history. Shut them down now! And make a law that no reactor can be built in an earthquake or tsunami ocean zone.

I have seen some just immature stupid comments posted by the left on this comment section the idiot ImpreachRonPaul saying a one world currency would stop earthquakes, the idiot Gary2 wanting his welfare handout by taxing the rich. But your comment just now is right up there with the dumbest comment of the year.

Gee George, you didn’t just take the Blue Pill, you took the whole bottle

    The Truth About Chernobyl

” A massive publication from the New York Academy of Sciences giving the views and the findings of scientists and clinicians in the affected territories. It is a deeply subversive alternative to the lies of the World Health Organisation and the International Atomic Energy Agency, who claim that the fallout has had no observable health impact.
Soundbite: between 1986 and 2005 a million deaths, across Europe are attributable to genetic damage from [the Chernobyl] fallout. ”

And now, the situation in Japan is all but totally lost. It appears that there will not only be one meltdown, but many. Foreign workers are evacuating Tokyo, and many Japanese are leaving as well…

Thanks again for reporting the real truth!!! The main stream media has been deceiving the American public for years!!! Here is an example: When local TV stations were approached with the problem of Chem Trails in the sky being sprayed at 30,000 ft, they commented these are vapor trails from jets exhaust!!! My friend and I called their hand on this and said they are lying to the public about this for years!!! Come to find out if they told the truth, they would be shut down by the FCC immediately for reporting the TRUTH about Chem Trails. This and a multitude of different news reporting has been so highly editorialized, they have left the simple truth out of it!!! In this situation in Japan, it is very serious and the radioactive isotopes can cause cancer very quickly if you have not sufficiently prepared!!! Get some potassium iodine in a small bottle and take it to fill up a person’s thyroid gland!!! This is where the radiation goes first into the thyroid gland!!! Any health food store in most cities carry it!!! California is going to get hit by a massive earthquake in the neighborhood of 9.1 to 9.2 on the Richter Scale. Their nuclear facilities will never be able to handle this type of quake. In the ring of fire in the pacific, if they have a major quake, a tsunami wave of about 100 to 200ft in height would devastate the pacific coast. Get prepared today, you will be glad you did!!!

When planes land and reload in Tokyo, do the plane’s interior get contaminated? Passengers bringing items aboard, placing them inside, people’s clothes as they walk in and sit. Do they contaminate the airplanes!

When Chernobyl exploded, i was living about 1000 miles away
near the German dutch border. As best as i can describe there was a rust like taste to the air that lingered for days as the wind was blowing from east to west. detailed information was available in the European media as to the radiation count. It varied greatly from country to country depending on air currents, etc…Some countries further away, Scotland for example actually got a heavier dose than areas much closer to the explosion.

  • snorky

“It is also being reported that there were over 600,000 spent fuel rods stored at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex”

This is not just a report – it’s a FACT as I downloaded the Tokyo Electric 2010 report confirming this last night – straight from the horse’s mouth as it were.
So they DO have 600,000+ spent fuel rods which they’ve been accumulating for 40 years, storing them onsite in GE Mk1 reactors that were effectively condemned due to safety concerns decades ago…
Smells like BP Deepwater Horizon all over again – save money in construction but pay the price down the track in a BIG BIG way.
The various expert analyses I’ve now seen lead me to believe that the media and governments are lying as per usual and that the situation is genuinely far worse than they claim.
In any case the next few days will tell the truth…

  • Lennie Pike

The Authorities at the top – the Politicians and high ranking Bureaucrats will always be prone to lie when tshtf under their watch. They are well aware of the fact that their level of knowledge, expertise, and dedication is almost non-existent, and they become terrified that the citizenry will become painfully aware of that if they make any drastic decisions or begin to make many public announcements.

It is also in their nature to know that if they do make hard decisions that the result could be angry voters and lawsuits. Courage of conviction and doing the right thing is considered madness to most of them – it does not advance their careers.

So at least they are smart enough to keep their mouths shut to protect their own asses.

The protection of the financial interests of their bosses also come into play. If people have to get sick and die, so be it.

I realize that what I just said is way to harsh in most cases, and not at all in some, but their is some truth in it especially concerning the incompetence and protection of special interest’s financial well being.

The huge majority of Politicians and Bureaucrats seek their positions because they are not good at doing anything, and don’t want to accept the jobs they do qualify for.

The best thing we can do is to be prepared, have our own contingency plans, and don’t depend on Government.

  • steve

Just listened to a guy on TV say that its getting time that they should bring in the air force to dump concrete on the entire area to entomb the whole facility before it gets worst.

  • uigui

potassium iodide is what you take to protect yourself from radioactive iodine. nutrabio.com still has it, I think. God help us all. Tokyo is the 2nd largest city in the world I think (1st? Think only Mexico City has more people). If this goes to USA, it will affect he food supply also. Potassium Iodide shortages is just one major problem, most don’t even know about it.

  • uigui

there are also specific doses and risks to taking potassium idodide. You need to do your research. Children and or pets take less. You do not want to take it unless needed (as far as I know, you need to do your own research and tell others).

  • Janie Jones

#28 – Canadian emergency team packs up and leaves 36 hrs after they arrived because they are not prepared for radiation.

  • Thinking Ahead

There is a 19 mile radius dead zone around Chernobyl. That is about 1000 square miles. The US has recommended that people with 50 miles of Fukushima. That’s around 7000 square miles. That makes Fukushima 7 time worse than Chernobyl and this is just the beginning. I suspect that all of Japan will soon be unihabitable. The 127 million Japanese will have to leave. Guess where they will go? Doubt that they will be welcome in Asia due to the atrocities they committed there over and over again. The are going to go to Australia and the United States. Currently the US population is 310 million. The mexicans have been killing the job market in the US for decades. Wanna bet that the Japanese will work for even less? Not that it matters. If all 600,000 fuel rods burn, the world will be so contaminated that all freshly grown food will be radioactive. The Japanese government had better figure out how to get those fuel rods into the ocean and quick! Can’t just blast them out there, it would scatter the pellets everywhere. They need to get a big crane there ASAP and start lifting out the spent fuel rod tanks and put them in the ocean.

    Just me 10 dollars worth……

Some of these comments almost make me believe that global radiation sterilization might be a good idea.

Hopefully this will not be as bad as we fear, we will learn from our mistakes and help each other survive.

Unless you are exposed to high levels of radiation, you might want to avoid the potasium iodine tablets and get by on seaweed and fortified salt for your iodine sources.

Oh and the granite and marble, in your homes and office buildings will probably give you more radiation exposure than you are likely to get from Japan, if you are living in the US.

Worse than all this. The Reactor #3 was fueled with MOX Fuel. 7% Plutonium and 93% Uranium.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOX_fuel

Plutonium is so much more deadly and worse.

Basically for ONE mg of plutonium from MOX is as deadly to the environment as 2,000,000 mg of enriched uranium… So it’s 2 million time more dangerous…. kinda.

  • WeHaveASoul

Most estimates are just a bit exaggerated. There is a clear difference between Chernobyl and Fukushima Dai-ichi. Fukushima’s reactors was shutted down automatically, thats a cooling system that failed. Well yeah it basically destroyed at this point. The job is to keep taking off the heat from naturally cooling reactor core. If it’s heated enough it may crack and expose the radioactive rods completely naked. Then it would be a problem as it would really complicate the later cooling procedures and greatly endanger the personnel. Hope the situation would not gets to this point.

But I have to agree, the most radiation punch was taken by ocean, not land. After all, the emergency team flooding the reactors with ocean salt water. This could be very bad news for fishery industry, especially Japanese.

The worldwide food crisis would escalate. The prices would keep rising. This is a real scenario to me. Another “Chernobyl” is not.

Hope for the best, and plan for the worst. That is the only response at this time that makes any sense. BTW- Kelp is another, more natural way to help the thryoid and other body systems combat radiation. Talk to a naturopath or herbalist to find the correct, individual dose.

  • PaulF

impeachRonPaul let me know today that this disaster was plotted by the nefarious Ron Paul and his cronies in the Climate Change Deniers Council. All they had to do was ignore the blatant facts of man-made global warming for a few more months until it caused this massive shift in the earth’s tectonic plates.

Ron Paul plans to harvest the spleens of the victims to make some kind of love potion that Christian will use to enslave enlightened atheists and neo-pagans.

George Schultz, a million people died from the radiation poisoning over the years after Chernobyl, and that’s just an estimate!

  • http://www.pathtoasia.com rhea

Are we checking the radiation in the nearby off shore aquatic life. just the fish alone if contaminated migrate, follow current, and can sicken other aquatic life.. a large quantity of larger fish are harvested in nearby waters that could be at risk.

What is not being reported in the media much if at all is that the junk fuel MOX is 2 MILLION times more lethal than uranium and this is in 3 plants in Japan. At least one is Reactor #3 at Fukushima. There are contradictory reports on this. Some say the storage pool water is dried up some say it is not. If it is we are close to be very screwed, not just in Japan. This is world wide contamination IF it is happening and will be around for the next 24,000 years at half life. It is time to jail all the mad scientists and gene splicers and return to a world moderated by some sanity.

  • Alain Merier

According to official estimations, about 10 million people will die this year because of tobacco smoking. This means that it would necessitate to have mode then 100 Chernobyl desasters every year to have the nuclear industry as deadly as the tobacco industry: are we worried about the right issue? It is correct to be concerned by the Fukushima disaster but before getting out of nuclear power, we should get out of tobacco…
The resident living close to the Fukushima plant were recommended to close the windows of their house and to make them as tight as possible to outside air, this recommencation was correct, but not for the smokers who should have been recommended to keep their window full open, as the outside air, even with some radioactive particules, was always less dangereous that the air inside their home with the tobacco smoke…

While it’s nice that there are radiation testing stations all across the country, they are off-limits to citizens. You can’t get real-time data. Try to get the live data here: http://www.epa.gov/ And they SAY a small amount has reached CA. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/15/japanese-ordered-indoors-nuclear-radiation_n_835789.html#566_tiny-amount-of-radiation-reaches-us

Although the message from Obama and MSM is that we should “just listen to them and do not need to be prepared” is totally absurd, and they say we don’t need iodide pills, this is a total mistruth! It is a situation whereby we all need to have these pills available in the event we need them. They are NOT to be taken like vitamins and only if needed, and then in the proper dosage, but, they NEED to be readily available to each of us. As far as iodine, 94% of the population is deficient in iodine and NEEDS to start replenishing their bodies with saturation of this supplement. Paul, you need to be locked up and the key thrown away. This is a serious article published by G.Edward Giffin and you choose to mock the only man we know of today who can turn this country around? Grow up!
Ron Paul does NOT advocate global warming in the first place!

Omega-3 oil is known to have protective benefits against radiation damage to cells. Fish oil, flax oil, and walnuts are the best sources.

Who wrote this article? Some of it is accurate, we think, maybe…or maybe not. Like everyone I pray that this crisis will not spin further out of control. Regardless, this article is full of partial information and therefore half-truths. It reads largely as sensationalism. Then again, this site typically has a doomsday slant on everything.

NATO’s method of humanitarian warfare has contaminated Serbia, Iraq and Afghanistan with thousands of tons of vaporized, depleted uranium made from spent fuel rods. The stuff has permeated the air, land and water. But not to worry, the Pentagon has assured the world that DU presents no health hazard.

That being so, the Japanese can solve their spent fuel rod crisis by weaponizing the uranium and attacking someone. This would be good for everyone involved.

The worst problem with this crisis is the secrecy shrouding it. Since two days, there has been no real update other than power has reached as scheduled and reactors 5 and 6 are now safe again. There are still reports of contamination, but from the site… its like a media blockade. Nothing.

This makes me think that things are worse, because right now, the smallest thing is really getting pushed positive. For example, the reactors 5 and 6 were shutdown from before the quake, but today, all of a sudden, their shutdown is being presented as an achievement in terms of update!!!

To me, it basically sounds like they are manufacturing good news to make up for the missing real updates. this is scary, because if it were good, the govt would stand on roofs to shout it out themselves.

  • NWORattled

PaulF…..bla bla bla about Ron Paul…i think wake up and feel the breeze and impeach yourself instead, it would be much better for the evolution of man, one less brainless man to worry about breeding others who could potentially be worse than him. Tectronic plates have sweet fa to do with global warming. greeen house gas is a myth for the dumbs like u to buy and happily hand out their hard earned cash for (the biggest scam of humman life). Never heard that the heat of the sun changes well the sun is now cooling down and expect 20years of cold weather hence so much snow rather than too much sun over Scotland this year DopeyP. As for the tectronic plates imagine a rubics cube rather than square it is circular, welcome to earth….Now Dopey P make yourself a coffee but dont drink smell maybe one day you will wake up….

The nuclear disasters have some main very important environmental benefits:
    1) the contaminated area around the damaged plant is evacuated and given back to nature and animal life. As the animals are slightly contaminated, they are not killed by hunters and therefore can live in peace and proliferate(see reports on Chernobyl which shows that the area around the plant is now full of wild animals).
    2) If by chance radioactive particules fall into the ocean, the fishes will be slightly radioactive and fishing will stop, which will give a chance to many species to survive. In fact we should hope that a large part of the ocean is contaminated so even whale and red tuna fish could be saved!

  • Strang

    Um, fear monger much?

    @Vidyut
I have to disagree with you: the worst problem is NOT secrecy, it is the fact that thousands of people have lost their lives.
Your desire for information or news about the disaster is hardly anything to be concerned about. If you really cared you would be donating time or money to help that affected by the disaster.

  • Samantha

WHY AREN’T THEY BURYING THAT THING????!! That was how Chernobyl was handled. It’s been 2 weeks now and that reactor is still NOT BURIED!

  • FollowerFreedom

You know what else kills cancer? CANNABIS!!! Look it up it is true. Yes, “smoking” cannabis can cause cancer, anytime you inhale smoke you put yourself at risk for cancer. However, eating cannabis doesn’t cause ANY harm to the person whatsoever, they just get high. Anyway it has been proven by researchers in several countries that the cannabinoids in cannabis actually work with your bodies cells to attack the cancer. Our bodies’ cells don’t attack the cannabinoids, they kindof attach to each other and make a super cancer killing cell. There is a story circulating on facebook right now of a man who has severe cancer in the back of his neck and tongue. The tumors are growing out of his neck and one measured 19.5cm after 2 weeks of treatment with oral and topical medicine made with cannabis his tumors have reduced size by almost half!!! HALF!!! Does chemo work that fast? the answer, heck no! Most times the chemo only makes a person more sick.

I wondered about several things. I told my husband that this was going to be much worse then anyone was letting on. Being raised in the Nuclear Generation, where duck and cover was taught in schools. I keep hearing that there is no IMMEDIATE threat. But what about the radiation that is being pumped back into the sea (*both from leaks and the irrigation of the rods), it is going to have very serious long term effects. The radiation in the air and the trade winds are going to drop enough particles on the earth to cause some form of damage/change. Does anyone have a clear idea of the full threat? If this continues, how soon will it become evident in humans and animals?
    Thank you.

Radioactive water found leaking into sea from pat at Japan nuclear plant. This can be devastating to say the least to all humankind! The effects of radiation sickness and poisoning include cancer, genetic and reproductive damage, hormonal damage, and thyroid blockage (that’s why they want you to take potassium iodine, another dangerous toxin) but I wouldn’t. There are much safer substances like Zeolites.

A couple good articles on radiation sickness protection that shows what you need do to test radiation levels, treat water, and what to take internally to not get sick:

Balance is important with sites like this – cause it’s easy to get scared if you dont know all the facts… and true we dont know all the facts.

BUT – we do know some things.

Google Maralinga British Testing; and check out the wikipedia sites.

In Australia back in the 50’s and 60’s; Scientists did some nuclear tests with weapons about 20 x the size of Fukishima and radiation spread over much of the entire Australian continent. Most of the people closest to Maralinga were suceptible to cancer and radiation poisoning.

It doesnt negate the risks; but it does show that we need to keep everything in balance. They’ve been doing nuclear tests in the oceans for years; and most of us survived without any real drama at all.

Dont panic – just keep informed and be careful. ~ Peace ~
