“I Fear For What’s Coming” – 68 Percent Of Americans Believe The Country Is On The Wrong Track

Family - Photo by Eric WardAre you deeply concerned about the future of America?  Is something in your gut telling you that our system is fundamentally broken and that the mainstream media is not telling you the truth about what is happening?  If so, you are definitely not alone.  Right now, there are millions upon millions of Americans that are absolutely horrified as they watch this nation deteriorate.  In fact, according to an analysis of recent polling data conducted by Real Clear Politics, approximately 68 percent of all Americans believe that the country is on the wrong track and only 23.5 percent of all Americans believe that the country is on the right track.  And of course our problems did not appear just recently.  In fact, many of them are the result of decades of very foolish decisions and they are not going to be fixed easily.  Unfortunately, there is very little consensus among Americans about how to fix any of our problems.  There is more anger, frustration, hatred and division in the United States today than there has been in decades, and there is very little hope that the great storms that are looming on the horizon will be averted.  Those that are wise are preparing for what is coming.  Those that are not are going to be absolutely blindsided by what is rapidly approaching.

Once upon a time, America was the wealthiest nation on the entire globe by a huge margin and it had the largest and most thriving middle class the world had ever seen.  But now America is drowning in the biggest ocean of red ink in the history of the planet and the middle class is being systematically destroyed.

If you read my articles on a regular basis, you already know all of this.  But now there are certain factors that are going to cause the problems of the middle class to greatly accelerate.

For instance, just consider what Obamacare is going to do to millions of American families.

The Foundry recently posted a story that detailed the extreme hardship that Obamacare is going to impose on one middle class family in Sonora, California.  This particular family is very healthy and does not have a history of health problems.  Up until now, they have had a health insurance policy with Anthem Blue Cross Insurance that they have been very happy with.

Back in 2011, this family was paying $389 a month for health insurance.

In 2012, due to changes in California law that figure went up to $499 a month.

Now, this family has just received a letter informing them that their current plan is being canceled and that if they want a new plan it is going to cost them $1,252 a month.

Needless to say, that news did not go over very well with that family.

Just think about it.

Can you come up with an extra $753 a month for health insurance?

Most American families certainly cannot.

Well, Kate Joy and her husband sat down and started trying to figure out how they could squeeze the new health insurance policy into their budget.  It turned out that they would have to cut out a lot of things.  The following is a list of the proposed cuts that they have come up with so far...

  • Stop paying the extra payment on my mortgage: $100/month
  • Stop eating out: $150/month
  • Don’t go to the movies: $36/month
  • Switch to getting a haircut every other month: $15/month
  • Stop getting manicures: $40/month
  • Stop monthly charitable donations to Wounded Warrior and Habitat for Humanity: $70/month
  • Stop saving for an annual anniversary getaway: $60/month
  • No Christmas gifts to extended family: $40/month
  • Quit buying beef at the grocery store: $100/month
  • Teeth cleaning only once per year: $30/month
  • Cancel all magazine/newspaper subscriptions: at least $30/month
  • Cut DISH service to cheaper plan: $50/month
  • Cancel land line phone service: $70/month

If they make all of those cuts, it will save the family $791 a month.

Understandably, that family is having a very hard time feeling optimistic about the future right now.  In fact, at the end of the article Kate Joy is quoted as saying the following...

"I fear for what’s coming."

And of course her family is not the only one that is being absolutely hammered by Obamacare.

In a previous article, I discussed the results of one study which showed that health insurance premiums for men are going to go up by an average of 99 percent under Obamacare and health insurance premiums for women are going to go up by an average of 62 percent under Obamacare.

And a different study found that health insurance premiums for healthy 30-year-old men are going to go up by an average of 260 percent under Obamacare.

All of this is going to suck a tremendous amount of "discretionary income" out of the economy.

In addition, millions upon millions of Americans are going to make the choice to go without health insurance altogether.  And considering the level of care that we get in many of these hospitals that is understandable.  For example, the body of 57-year-old Lynne Spalding was recently discovered in a stairwell at San Francisco General Hospital 17 days after she had disappeared from her hospital room.

Those that provide our "health care" don't care about us as much as they did in the old days.  Instead, the health care industry just wants to get as much money out of us as rapidly as they can and then move on to the next victim.

And of course health care is not the only thing that middle class families have to be concerned about these days.  Our national employment crisis is getting even worse, incomes are shrinking, and Obama is pushing Congress to approve a secret treaty that will ship millions more of our jobs out of the country.

And there are certainly a lot of troubling economic signs as we head toward 2014.  Just consider the following examples...

-Pending home sales in the United States have fallen for five months in a row.

-Machinery giant Caterpillar is reporting negative retail sales growth in every region on the globe.  Historically, the sales growth of Caterpillar has been one of the most important indications of where the economy is headed next.

-Major banks are warning the Federal Reserve that they may have to start charging depositors a fee.  In other words, you may soon have to pay for the "privilege" of putting your money in the bank.

Of course this is just the beginning.  Things are going to get much, much worse in the years ahead as our economy continues to deteriorate.

And as things continue to fall apart, people are going to become a lot more desperate.  To get an idea of what is coming to America, just look at what is happening in Greece.  Some poor people in Greece have become so desperate that they are literally infecting themselves with HIV just so that they can get monthly government payments...

Suicides rose by 17% between 2007 and 2009 and to 25% in 2010, according to unofficial 2010 data (398). The Minister of Health reported a further 40% rise in the first half of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010. Suicide attempts have also increased, particularly among people reporting economic distress (610). Homicide and theft rates have doubled. HIV rates and heroin use have risen significantly, with about half of new HIV infections being self-inflicted to enable people to receive benefits of €700 per month and faster admission on to drug-substitution programmes. Prostitution has also risen, probably as a response to economic hardship. Health care access has declined as hospital budgets have been cut by about 40% (398) and it is estimated that 26 000 public health workers (9100 doctors) will lose their jobs (611). Further cuts are expected as a result of recent negotiations with the IMF and European Central Bank.

If you doubt this, you can find the original report with these findings right here.

A lot of people accuse me of being a "doom and gloomer" for writing articles like this.

A lot of people accuse me of trying to spread worry and fear.

But I do not see it that way at all.

I was recently asked what the number one issue is that has me so worried that it keeps me up at night.

Do you know what my answer was?

"Nothing."

Nothing that I write about keeps me up at night.

I am not worried about what is coming and I do not believe in giving in to fear.

Rather, I believe that there is hope in understanding what is happening, and I believe that there is hope in getting prepared.

Do you want to know who is going to be totally giving in to worry, fear and despair in the years ahead?

The people that are not getting prepared right now.

Do you want to know who is going to be jumping off the top of tall buildings in the years ahead?

The people that are laughing at articles like this one.

For most adults in America, they primarily define their lives by their jobs, their material possessions and by all of the toys that they have accumulated.  When those things get taken away, we are going to see a national hissy fit that is absolutely unprecedented.

The Republicans are not going to save us from the storm that is coming and neither are the Democrats.

It is coming.

That is why I am urging people to get prepared on an individual basis, a family basis and a community basis.

If you prepare yourself and your family now, you will have a much better chance of surviving the coming storm.  And you will be in much better position to help those that will need your assistance.

If you think back throughout history, most of those that we consider to be the greatest "heroes" emerged during times of great crisis.

Well, another time of great crisis is coming, and this will be a tremendous opportunity for a new generation of heroes to arise.

So do not cower in fear because of what is coming.  Rather, use this time to get prepared for the greatest challenges and the greatest opportunities that you have ever known.

When things are the darkest, that is when the light is needed the most.

Choose to be a light.  America will soon need you greatly.

I am from Britain and can tell you that there will be serious bloodshed very soon in this country.

From 1/1/14 because of the EUSSR the Roma will be able to live here.

The Pakistani muslims are really pissed off by this.

Read any site from the UK and you can see it will blow very soon.

    • Rodster

I have a feeling it will be a worldwide event, hence all the Govt spying. They are now rioting in Thailand over economic conditions.

    • Roger Smith

Agreed, Get ready for “Winter of discontent 2.0″

    • davidmpark

Islams vs Roma is real? I thought that was a story arch in “From Russia with Love.”

  • K

While I do indeed feel for that family, at least they found a way to afford obamacare. Most families I know, seem to be coming up about a hundred short, even after cutting everything they could. The plan to utterly break this Country is on schedule, and the result to most will be horrifying. No fear here either, but I must admit some days the sadness gets to me.

    • Rodster

I refuse to be a part of Obamacare and i’m not paying the fine.

      • James

You will have your wages garnished and you won’t get any tax refunds if you are entitled to it. They will fidn ways to get it out of you anyways.

        • Rodster

You are so wrong. How do I know? My landlady is an IRS agent. The only recourse they have for enforcement is if you are getting a refund. Then it’s their call as to whether they want to deduct it from the amount owed to you. ;)

          • Kim

Then I will claim the maximin dependents allowed on my w4. Technically, you can stop federal withholding by becoming an independent contractor.

        • washington

I do not work for money but I do barter. I could get free health care from the exchange but I wont. I am an American and I am a free man! They cannot make me do anything…I am free! Stand up people…refuse!

      • LifeandLiberty

Don’t listen to James. He has no clue. There are no enforcement mechanisms in Obamacare other than confiscating your tax refund. They can not garnish your wages.

        • Buddy199

          True.

        • JONNY

          NOT YET BUT SOON!

          • americalsgt

            Or withhold medication.

        • Drud

No Jonny, the government cannot do anything, be anything or even exist without our cooperation. Look at what happened in Syria, clearly many powerful people wanted to go to war, but when we the people ignored party lines and said “NO” with one voice, they immediately backed down. This is the truth: Tyranny cannot exist without the consent of the masses. We have the power, we simply need more people to become informed and to disobey unjust laws (IMO this is most of them).

      • Warrior54

That is correct, Stand up to the lies and never ever back down. I noticed habitat for humanity? Wounded warrior program. One is the Jimmy Carter liberal program, the other steals the money that is suppose to help the vets, yeah i would cut them!!!

        • Kim

I also read wounded warrior program was a scam.

          • Warrior54

Yes Kim, This is my understanding, Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!

          • Kim

Back at ya, sweetie! Enjoy the day.

      • Mondobeyondo

You may have no choice but to be a part of Obamacare, and you may be forced to pay the fine. If you don’t, well, they know where you live, let’s put it that way.
The first bricks are being laid for a new totalitarian America. All hail Dear Leader Obama! Provider of health care for the masses, and free cellphones, and free food! The land of the free!!!

Germany has a good healthcare system (when I lived there). You could have a couple who both had middle class teaching jobs, who lived like a millionaire would in the UK. My ex-girlfriend’s parents certainly had such a lifestyle.

I think the capitalism versus socialism is a false dichotomy, as how can the prevalence of any one economic theory be proved in a manipulated global economy? The real problem is evil banksters messing up foreign (and now domestic) nations.

I hate the idea that doctors take the Hippocratic Oath, then spend their entire lives breaking that oath. We prescribe treatments that are not needed. Lots of doctors are thick/wicked, and like to blame the insurance companies for the current malaise, rather than admit that they could actually reform the system. No, its not just the system that’s evil, it’s you.

Unfortunately, the human race didn’t learn our lessons from the past, such as the Roman empire. And this is why we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past, again and again. Until our necessary and inevitable downfall.

      • Chesyre

Germany has been subsidized for decades by america. Wait till they have to pay for their own boot on the arabian faces too keep fossil fuels flowing.

      • K

Seth, while I agree some doctors are part of the problem. I have always found insurance companies, run a close second to bankers on the greed index.

      • therooster

The problem is debt, not necessarily those who create it. When the real-time genie was released from the bottle in 1971, the debt genie also escaped at the same time. The real-time genie, ironically, has the only key to get the debt genie back into the bottle to seal it up. Gold has full scalable liquidity now that it floats in real-time ….. all debt free.

  • markthetruth

The issue is that the 22% are going to keep the Technology world going for a long time until the world looks like the Jetsons and it will Happen !!!
We just can’t picture it but who ever thought we would go to the moon.

    the end…

    • laura m.

markthetruth: go to the moon? what a crock. We can’t even figure out electric cars that are efficient or fix our crumbling infrastructure, national debt, etc. The trip to the moon lies has been exposed in the past. All this was filmed in the desert. There is no wind on the moon either. Do the research. The gov lies and deceives constantly as in 911, Benghazi, gulf of Tonkin, JFK murder, etc.

      • Malcolm Reynolds

        LMAO! Thanks for that.

  • Joe Kleinkamp

Everything must be fine. Diane Sawyer does the world news and if there was anything wrong she wouldn’t be spending half the show on human interest stories. How about that girl scout that sold all those cookies? Now that’s news! And that amputee who does lots of stuff everyone else can do? And that poor family that got help from their community? And, oh yeah, how about that cute animal born at the zoo? Do you think that smart lady Diane Sawyer on the ABC network would waste your time on those stories if there was anything going around the world to be concerned about? And that whacky Miley Cyrus! Now that’s something we all need to see! Hohoho where’s my remote?

    • xander cross

This is why they push the NFL, NBA, Golf, Hockey, and the WWE so much because they need a good distraction when wal-mart close their doors for good.

      • jaded

The fact that professional wrestling is still around and people (adults, not kids!) actually enjoy it should be enough proof that we are in a decline, a downward glide….

        • xander cross

Indeed because the vast majority of Americans love being distracted and don’t care about China’s recent actions, that proves that we as a country is in deep trouble.

      • zerzura

Absolutely, that’s why they get paid so much money. They provide a national service by creating a distraction for the american people.

        • xander cross

Indeed. That is why I always believe that if you have not been prepping, then you already lost. The fact that for years Lady Gaga got paid millions of dollars and that WWE makes record profits every year, that speak volumes about America.

          • jaxon64

Let’s not forget the Barbarism of “Ultimate Fighting”…how far have we regressed ( not far from the coliseum antics) when it has become mainstream entertainment for 2 men to get into a cage and beat eachother until one is unconsciousness or actively bleeding so much he risks insanguination—this is America now…Miley Cyrus on her knees with butt in the air like a dog in heat, Beyonce with legs spread wide grinding her privates at the camera or barbaric fights to near death and traumatic brain injury…..please pass the popcorn….crud..
God forgive me, but there are times when I feel as though the masses deserve the fate that encroaches upon them…sometimes in my darker or exhausted moods.

  • Richard

The silly rhetorical questions are back. Bravo!

  • jsmith

Oh, stop worrying about those things is what I hear from my cousins, and one particular aunt and uncle. Both of them have good pensions, my aunt one pension from the Teamsters union, their house is also paid off and are in decent health. So why worry they tell me. I feel like chicken little as I’m marginalized. So what happens to pensions Michael, when the Dollar is devalued?

    • laura m.

jssmith: We are semi reclusive and quit informing others long ago. (stick w/those like minded). We don’t join anything, or vote, and stay out of group settings as they’re useless time wasters. Start a bartering group with close friends, keep prepping, and forget/ignore the ignorant masses who are dumb as a box of rocks. Cut ties w/loser friends and relatives; don’t communicate, cg your phone and email. Focus on immediate family.

      • Tim

Very interesting. I stopped talking about the coming collapse to coworkers and other acquaintances because they either didn’t get it or they thought it was ridiculous. It hasn’t helped that The Powers That Be have managed to keep this going much longer that I ever imagined. But I know that I’m right about what’s coming. I’ll admit that recently I have been discouraged because of the endless criminality in the financial markets and the propaganda from the media. But that’s why I come to this site every day. The articles articles help me to refocus.

        • BonusGift

You have been mostly right about timing! You must not think you were wrong, the collapse is happening, has been happening, and continues to happen. You can see this in even biased statistics (e.g., the % employed, not the propaganda ‘unemployment rate’ – “U-3″). We can quibble over the recognizable aspects, but you have been right overall. For example, the so called ‘Great Depression’ wasn’t called that until after WW II was over. Do yourself a favor and read the economic headlines in a one or more newspapers during the early to late 1930s and see that there is no mention of the “Great Depression”; and that was before tribe so fully controlled the media. They do mention economic problems but no real recognition of a “depression”. As Orlov said long ago: “economic collapse is a process not an event.” Sure, there are events that can mark time but this is not exactly like a war were one major battle and poof you win or lose. Long story short, the ‘collapse’ that many have been waiting for is already here, it is just too slow motion for most of the brainwashed to see until well after the fact. We can use something as visually dramatic as the “fall of the Berlin Wall”, but the collapse there was occurring long before the guards essentially wandered away.

    • jaxon64

What your aunt and uncle have is known as “cognitive dissonance.” They may deep down understand and see that our course is not sustainable–yet they do not want to believe it or even think about it.
They are currently very comfortable and happy and (rightfully so) just want to relax and enjoy the fruits of their lifetimes of labor.
To them, you may even be a bit of a threat and the words of warning you pass to them out of caring and concern are probably misconstrued as a threat and they might even get hostile if you push it…best to have said your piece and leave it be with them.
I know the type, they just don’t want to face it.
Cognitive Dissonance–when one is faced with empirical evidence of the fact of something–to continue to deny its truth. Not because they don’t understand the truth of the issue, but because they Don’t Want to believe the truth and Refuse to accept it.

  • JailBanksters

Wake me when you get to 99%, because nothings going to happen until you get to that number. It will be an absolute miracle if anything changes before that.

Cut the land line for magic jack.

Cut the cable TV or dish – whatever you have – go with antenna and pick up what is essential…. news, weather, local channels for free!

      • Kim

I get a lot of channels on my digital antenna. I also ditched my cell phone contract for a prepaid “go phone” ( I have an iPhone) and I get unlimited talk and text for $40. I ride my bike. I use free wifi. My only major expense is my student loan payments.

        • GSOB

You have an iPhone for unlimited talk and text for 40 a month prepaid?

          If so… I want that.

Will you steer me in the right direction?

          • Kim

Of course, sweetie. It’s through AT & T, prepaid. Also known as ATT Go Phone. It works with all iPhone versions, including the latest 5, 5S and 5C. I have a 4s and have been enjoying this service for quite a while. No contract (obligations) and I love that.

          • GSOB

            Thanks Kim.

    • callmecordelia1

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Most of those items are already “cut” from my budget. I’ve had one manicure in my whole life, and it’s because a friend gave me a gift certificate for Christmas. I don’t have TV service or a land line, we go on “anniversary getaways) once every 10 years or so, and I get my hair cut 2 or 3 times a year. The sad thing is that most people don’t have all that fluff to cut out of their budgets, and won’t be able to come up with the extra money and will be left without health insurance.

    • Zoltar

The point is, those things they are cutting are the livelyhoods of other people. A ripple effect.

      • XSANDIEGOCA

Years ago, the government put a “wealth tax” on people buying boats. By God, the government was going to put it to those rich folk with a nautical bent. The government overlooked the fact that many, many average folk made their living building and maintaining votes. Not only were fewer boats sold but many “little people” were crushed! So shall it be again.

        • guest

It was called the luxury tax and applied to furs and jewelery also. I wouldn’t dispute that fewer American yachts were sold, but the number of yachts sold remained steady. The reason is that the luxury tax applied to the country of origin – America. The wealthy simply bought their yachts elsewhere, mainly from Taiwan. Same with furs / jewelery. (I’m a survivor of that particular war). Although I didn’t understand the point then, I never believed that the outcome was accidental. Years later I became aware of Agenda 21. Bush sr. signed us up for that in Rio – Un summit 1992. It also explains nafta. The de industrialization of the West, specifically America, is very real. Some believe it’s for ‘equity’ among the nations, developing and otherwise. (Basically we will all be slave class to our masters, borders will mean nothing). Which also explains the resistance to defend our borders, or stop ‘illegals’ from entering.( They’re not ‘illegal – North American Union ).
I believe the above is one purpose, the other being so that we – Americans – cannot rebuild the war machine and defend against the usurpation. How much manufacturing knowledge has lost since Bush Sr. started the push ? Even if we wanted to, would we be able to without the knowledge ?

          • XSANDIEGOCA

Bingo. When all the IT applications originate in Banaglore and are serviced by Indians and no native
Americans bother to major in IT, Engineering and other technical specialties, we are rather vulnerable. Hence, the rabid push for H1B visas. The America we knew is disappearing before our eyes.

There is hope! That is why I read your blog, Michael. If it was all doom and gloom, I wouldn’t come here. We can learn to be happy with less. We can prepare ourselves mentally for a time when the luxuries we enjoy go away. We can learn skills and become more self-reliant. This year I’m focusing on gardening, and I have absolutely loved it. Sometimes becoming more self-reliant brings a greater peace and happiness to our lives, even if no crash ever happens. I appreciate what you do to warn people about how precarious our situation really is. And for those who are impatient because things aren’t coming down as fast as you thought they might– just be grateful and enjoy life.

    • piccadillybabe

You are right about learning new skills but home gardens are going to become a thing of the past. You just cannot find good seed anymore that will yield decent produce. The last good garden I had was in 2010 I believe. What is up with that?

      • callmecordelia1

Well, I’m definitely no expert, but try Baker Creek Heirloom seeds. I’ve had almost 100% germination rates on all of them, and they’ve grown really well. They’re all open-pollinated, so you can save seeds. I have a book on seed saving, and I’m hoping to learn to create my own little seed bank. My soil is terrible, so they must be good seeds! :)

        • Tim

We get our seeds from Baker Creek.

I use Baker Creek heirloom seeds as well and have had good luck with them. The lettuce, spinach, peas and tomatos did great this year

      • garand555

There are tons of places to get heirloom seed. Also, look up landrace farming. You try several varieties of whatever it is that you are growing, and if it doesn’t survive long enough to go to seed, it doesn’t go back into your garden. You also allow “promiscuous” pollination, and after enough years, you eventually your own localized variety that does well with your soil and your climate. If you have any indian reservations near by, drive through them, and see if there are any fields growing crops in the summer. If there are, they may be growing some very old varieties of foods that have been with their tribes for a long time.

      • americalsgt

Come on. Let’s not get carried away by the doom and gloom. I had a great garden this year and thinking about next years.

      • tidewaterva

Picadilly, if your garden is gradually producing less, you should try a soil test. Crops use nutrients, which must be replaced. Organic fertilizers like animal manure provide long lasting soil fertility. Seeds are probably not your problem.

And yet another proof that the intellectual abilities of conservatives are stunted.

Conservatives are incapable of understanding the liberal side of
the argument. They are either to immature in their cognitive abilities
or they are sociopaths. In the later case, that part of the brain is not
developed and no amount of information will change their mind because
of their inability to understand that they or their tribe are not the
    only people that matter.

    • Zoltar

And what’s the liberal side of the argument Gary?

Money grows on trees, and debt doesn’t matter?

      • 2Gary2

as I said conservatives do not get it. Reread your silly uneducated post and you can see how low information you sound.

        • Zoltar

          LOLOLOLOL!

          WOW! Just WOW!

Don’t worry, that insult is coming from a guy who copies and pastes all his posts, except for his lame insults.

          • C.L. Strasburg

            Exactly

          • wombobobo

what a comeback argument from the lib, hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

        • C.L. Strasburg

yawn … just another Cut & Paste retort.

        • garand555

Well, considering that your post basically boils down to “conservatives are dumb and/or crazy,” your post says very little, other than expressing your opinion that conservatives are dumb and/or crazy. And I’m not exactly sure what you mean by “conservative,” but if you’re talking about the republicans in DC, well, very few of them are actually conservative.

          • 2Gary2

let me put this another way then–conservatives have made ignorance a virtue. A good example was rick santorm saying that the republican party does not need intellectuals. I do not think mr. santorm has to worry about that. Smart people are not by and large conservatives.

          • garand555

Like I said, Republicans in DC aren’t conservative. They talk like they are, but they aren’t. We’ve continued to see government grow in power and spending regardless of which party is in power, unless you want to argue that DHS was not added under a republican controlled congress and republican president. I could say that democrats tend to make vacuous and general statements with no relation to reality and not one actual fact to back it up, but I would then be leaving republicans out of that, and they are equally deserving. As soon as you realize that this red-team blue-team BS is just that, BS, you’ll be better off.

          • 2Gary2

you are correct that they both suck. I guess its just that there are sane dems like elizabeth warren and there are no sane republicans.

    • Bill

Gotta hit you on this one. If the libs are so great why have things become so much worse during the rein of the dems? Please don’t think I’m defending conservatives. My recognition of either party is very low as evidenced by my lack of capitalizing.

      • Malcolm Reynolds

        BTW, conservative isn’t a party.

      • 2Gary2

we need true libs like elizabeth warren and bernie sanders, not the corporate dems like obummer.

    • Joe Palladino

      Go suck an egg wanker.

      • 2Gary2

ok hoss-you really got me there.

    • SpunkyBunks

No, the conservatives were right with this one. This bill was written by insurance lobbyists to benefit the insurance industry. America is going to collapse due to legislation that fills the pockets of insurance executives at the expense of the middle class. Americans and their doctors are left in the cold with this sad law.

      • 2Gary2

agreed-thats what happens when obummer took a right wing heritage foundation idea and ran with it. should have done single payer all along.

      • Gay Veteran

odd how the bill is so similar to that advocated by the conservative Heritage Foundation
“conservative”, “liberal”, Republican, Democrat, all controlled by the banksters

LMAO, obamacare is an absolute disaster and you are defending it. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

If Walmart applied to the wages of Walmart workers the $7.6 billion the
company spent last year buying back shares of Walmart stock off the
open market — and did the same with the $2.6 billion the company paid
out last year in dividends to the billionaire heirs of company founder
Sam Walton — the retail giant could raise the pay of every full-time Walmart worker to at least $25,000 a year, calculates a new Demos study.

cut all the fluff. We just cancelled our contract with Dish… cost us $230, but still less than the remainder of the service would have. We decided to stop paying the networks to lie to us. Wife and I read to each other, we spend more time together, and we’re making great progress on our preps.
Things are not getting better, as we notice by all the stores in our area closing and so many people on the side of the road selling their belongings. We were almost carjacked last weekend (or robbed or killed, not sure which, but it almost did not turn out well). We are very comfortable with less. I drive a Ford F-150 that I bought new in 03 that now has over 420,000 miles. We own our home and our vehicles. No debt except property taxes. It’s not that hard, just have to decide to do what it takes, and not give in to the advertisers and corporate thugs.
    Thanks for all you Michael.

  • Lance Armani

Michael, whenever I try to post your articles to make my point on mainstream forums and news sites, I get a little different feedback than you would expect. I never get you are a “doom and gloomer,” I rather get you are trying to profit off of gullible people who buy into doom and gloom. I personally do not feel this way about you at all, but I wanted to give you some insight on the feedback that I get. Regardless of what the sheep feel, you do a great job on writing and referencing your articles. You are totally correct on your analysis in this article, we WILL have the last laugh at the end when the sheep fall.

    • energizedmortal

I know what you mean but I don’t think anyone will be laughing at all, an economic collapse means world war that everyone will be victim to not just the “sheep”.

  • Bill

Michael, you will be happy because I turned on my light today. Gary will be happy because I shared my wealth today. Short version of the story is: while buying gas today the gent across from me was tapped out on his plastic (unknown to him) and had no cash. I covered his $15 short.

We must start helping each other and tell the greedy bankers and govies we are ready to rattle their cages and battle.

The problem is, rather than let the free marketplace find its own level the elites will deliberately destroy the system and impose a Fascist one on everyone, and do their best to pit us all against each other. Beware of anyone who claims they can “solve” the mess – oh, and it will only require you to give me your allegiance and treat me as God…don’t bow down to Baal.

          • Dare Tuitt

I think Americans are only showing their frustration that too many jobs have been outsourced, and it’s a natural reaction when things aren’t going well economically. You correctly show, however, that if Americans can’t buy, then the world suffers.

My sweetie lost a tooth filling couple days ago. Being forward thinking, I bought a few dental emergency kits; complete with temporary fillings. After filling in the cavity, I made a lot of phone calls to find out what all of her insurances (she has Medicare and supplemental Medicaid) would cover under dentistry.

    Turns out, not hardly anything.

Medicare has only emergency coverage for life threatening dental infections at very few places. Medicaid does cover dental now, but not for supplemental Medicaid as they assumed Medicare or Obamacare would cover it. Obamacare only seems to exist in hipster publications and in the administration’s heads as it’s just a sham. We already spent most of her SSDI back pay on dentistry, medical bills, and a replacement vehicle; the dentist we went through will replace the filling for $650.00 cash.

So, with three federal government systems of very expensive healthcare, they don’t really cover much and just drive up the costs in the marketplace.

And we now get to the actual solution: I ordered a commercial-brand permanent dental filling kit (ADA Approved) off Amazon for $17.89/free shipping and will do it myself. Learned phlebotomy in a weekend; got a medic license in 3 months at college; and learned suturing from a publication meant for the 3rd world. I can do a filling.

If the feds were serious about fixing healthcare, then they should try backing off for a change – all their actions just makes more work for me. :P

By the way – best article yet! The ending was very needed; thanks Mike!

They are lazy, watch football and drink beer, while doing NOTHING to change the wrong course.

For some reason, most of the idiots in this country believe that we live in a democracy with unrestricted capitalism! Ha! And that the military fights for OUR freedom. Ha! The idiots freak out when you tell them that the media is owned by the elites that brainwashes them to believe in all of this crap.

They don’t understand that the elites buy off our politicians to form the policy (free trade, deregulation, tax breaks for closing down US factories, etc.) that benefits their offshore banking accounts. Voting doesn’t matter, the elites just replace the unpopular politician with another one that suits their needs. It’s a neverending vicious cycle.

      • Dejavous

If you study prophecy – all that is going on right now is there in scripture. Prophecy will be fulfilled and God has allowed Obama and others to come to power to fulfull that prophecy. Nothing can change what is happening because God is still in control. We do not have to like what is happening BUT we must understand that just as Jesus had to go to the cross to fulfill prophecy – this must also happen to fulfill prophecy or the Bible would then be a lie. God’s will be done.

Is this some of that Romans 13 taken out of context stuff? Good and Godly government is what that passage is referring too. Obama Care is going to destroy the Middle Class which is precisely what our high living Marxist President intended. Don’t be put off by that Aw Shucks, Nobody told Me demeanor. He knows exactly what he is doing. Now, I have no objection to paying for health care; however, when it costs as much as a house payment then I shall dispense with it and depend on God and Luck. Middle Class people can not pay these premiums! Adding insult to misery, they also have a huge deductible to deal with. Here is the bottom line. You are going to see millions of Middle Class families just deciding to pull the plug, go “naked” and pay the fine. The fear mongers will tell us that we face financial ruin if we do not have insurance!! Well, we face financial ruin if we do have insurance. I think of my great, great, great grandfather who homesteaded the frontier. Guess what, he did not have insurance and died a wealthy man. Time to return to the basics.

    • Drud

Obama Care is a travesty, there is no doubt about it and very few can claim they saw through it from the very beginning (I admit I did not). BUT, it may turn out to be the best thing that could happen: begin hit in the wallet is the only thing that can wake up the masses. If people realize that even their sacred political party can lie and come up with a dreadful plan, maybe the 2-party scam starts to unravel, and then, maybe, just maybe, people will begin to realize that the government doesn’t have all the answers, then maybe realize that the government is mostly unnecessary.

I fear for my children and grandchildren. The vast possibilities and opportunities that this country has afforded past generations will simply not exist. Generational theft and stealing of dreams of the young, is immoral. Both parties see the general populous as subjects/serfs to be used, drained, and now with the ACA Obamination – ultimately disposed of. When the time comes and it will sooner than we think, I pray that people stand together, and are prepared to do what is necessary to revive the Constitutional Republic.

Can someone please direct me to a link explaining obamacare and why it would cause rates to go up? I am Canadian and do not understand the US Health Care system…but I thought the entire point of Obamacare was to provide insurance for people that could not otherwise afford it?

    • Joe Shmo

HAhahahaha! You Canadians are so funny. Look, here it is in a nutshell. Your insurance plan MUST be ACA compliant. If not, it is cancelled and you must seek a new plan on the exchanges. To be compliant, the plan MUST offer certain benefits, whether you want them or not. So, since you must pay for additional coverage under a compliant plan, the cost will rise. The “poor” are offered a subsidy and that is the part that you may be thinking of. But keep in mind, those people don’t have health insurance currently MUST now pay out of pocket expenses. Like a office visit co-pay, AND many thousands of dollars in deductibles. Ouch! Affordable Care Act? NOT!

      • Anonymous

Yes, and to be compliant, they are making men, who obviously can not become pregnant, pay for maternity care.

    • Anonymous

I am a citizen of the USA and I do not understand the health care system or Obamacare. There are those among us that like to make everything very confusing. They know we are so busy working and trying to survive that we don’t have time to understand all the garbage they throw at us. The garbage comes from every direction too.

    • John

The actual “point”, Leigh, was to break the backbone of the middle class and redistribute the wealth of our country.” All men are created equal”, but that does not mean that all men should have the same type of coverage. If I wish to buy a small fish bowl for a goldfish, I should not have to pay for all of the accessories for a 10 gal fish tank, over and above the cost of the fish bowl that I am buying. I simply don’t need or want the additional stuff (gravel, pump, filter, filter cartridge, aerator, tubing, etc). Obamacare forces everyone to pay for coverage, ie: stuff, that they may not need, want, or afford. This thing will break the U.S. Prepare for an influx when the “stuff” hits the fan, my Canadian neighbor.
      Be well

      • DiscouragedOne

It is a redistribution of health and wealth…Dick Morris…and he is right.

  • DJohn1

I think the Democrats have a well earned reputation for raising taxes. They certainly have outdone themselves with ObamaCare.
The problem is how do we get rid of them? I suggest that since they vote as one along party lines then so should we. But then we have to contend with Republicans. Republicans are all about big money and representing the rich. So we have to choose our devils in congress very carefully. That has not been done in recent history. When you wake up a sleeping giant you need to be very careful how you wake them.

I haven’t seen anything quite like this in my lifetime. Historically, the 20s and prohibition have a few things in common with this legislation. People rebel when legislatures dig too deep into their pockets.
We talk about ignorant sheep. Sheep are commonly led to be fleeced. Well the fleecing has begun. They are often led to the slaughter house. That too might be coming.
In the meantime, we need to get rid of this legislation our democratic representatives voted for. The question becomes how do we reverse what has been done?
I suggest that there are mechanisms where a clear strong majority of the people disagree with their congress that can be used.
So what happens if the entire nation lays down and quits working period?
By their own numbers, this national law bankrupts everyone. So what happens if everyone simply quits banking period?
Herds stampede! No predator out there can survive a stampede aimed in their directions.
We are told that the Democrats have a clear majority in one house of Congress. If we all get together we can recall those representatives.
We are talking right now about bankrupting the majority of the people in the middle and lower classes of this country. That could start a stampede.

    • Nickelthrower

Greetings, I believe that it was Napoleon that said he feared One Hundred Sheep led by a Lion more than he feared One Hundred Lions led by a Sheep. Without question, the majority of people are sheep – it is just how things work out. But, all we need are a few lions like Sam Adams or Thomas Jefferson and this entire rotting house of cards will come tumbling down. It will never ever swell up from below.

Michael, you are actually understating what is going to happen. George Soros has said matter factly that the American middle class will be destroyed by destroying the US dollar and by creating a one world currency and a one world government. He said that is going to happen by 2018.

Because what follows that is 7 years of hell on earth and as a watchman for the last 20 years I never thought it would get this bad before His coming. 20 years ago the birth pangs were a little kick now and then, now the pangs are faster and more extreme which tells me the baby is about to be born.

    Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

    • FounderChurch

We have abandoned Him so He has abandoned us. God no longer hears the prayers of Americans.

        • FounderChurch

He won’t save you that’s for sure. If there was only one chance in a million that there was a God, it would justify believing. It would be a bargain. Plus, even if there was no God the Bible is a very helpful book all by itself.

Our elite strike me as incredibly short sighted in their approach to virtually everything. Right now they may be getting rich in all the various pyramid schemes. However they still need the little people (aka middle class) to buy their services and stuff,

As for the recovery, we’re sitting on enough natural resources to rebuild. The huge problem as I see it is the results of the education system. So many people have been molded by educators to be both arrogant and ignorant, and the worst cases seemed to be college educated. Rebooting people will be the greatest challenge.

    • FounderChurch

We have no children, therefore we will rebuild NOTHING

Rock on Pope-you are correct capitalism is the problem not the solution. Tax the rich and spread the wealth. Maybe I should be a catholic :)

Pope Francis called for renewal of the Roman Catholic
Church and attacked unfettered capitalism as “a new tyranny”,
urging global leaders to fight poverty and growing inequality in
the first major work he has authored alone as pontiff.

    • wombobobo

To the simplest of minds, perhaps. To those with the ability to think, mass murder and oppression isn’t quite as entertaining.

Anti-Gun Group Mayor Arrested for DUI, Attacking Clock

A member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and punching a police department clock last Saturday, the latest member of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun group to run into trouble with the law.

Monticello, N.Y., Mayor Gordon Jenkins (D.) was charged with DUI, refusing a breathalyzer, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief last Saturday, after authorities noticed he appeared drunk when he showed up to survey the scene of a local car wreck.

“Do you know what my answer was?

    “Nothing.””

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best is a pretty simple motto, and it helps to know that should the worst case scenarios occur that there’s a buffer between the scenario and your family and you.

“A lot of people accuse me of being a “doom and gloomer” for writing articles like this.”

Cop out. I’d wager this person wouldn’t know that without Saudi Arabia backing the US Dollar through OPEC as the principle mechanism behind the US Dollar’s world’s reserve currency status.

“A lot of people accuse me of trying to spread worry and fear.”

This person’s viewpoint is normalcy. The Mainstream is an interconnected owned of 6 corporation that each owns between 10-20% of the other corporations through stocks and etc. This means that you’re only getting the news as viewed by 6 interconnected organizations. It’d be like expecting to read or hear opposing viewpoints let alone the whole truth and simply the facts.

Additionally, this is in conflict to the last 50 years of price increases in necessities particularly within food like grains and etc, which are up 100-250%.

  • FounderChurch

Where are our children in this brave new world? Answer is: We Have No Children! So there will be no brave new world. Everyone reading this AND all your descendants will be dead by the end of this century, which is only 87 years away. That is not opinion, it is arithmetic. If present birthrate trends of Americans stay the same there is no hope. This and this alone keeps me up at night. All the preppers I know are an old over the hill bunch of childless or near childless old coots having one or two or none children. NO CHILDREN NO COUNTRY!

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Eight House Democrats were arrested along with 200 immigration activists during a rally for immigration reform on Tuesday. The March in Washington, D.C. rally follows nationwide demonstrations on Saturday that brought out thousands of immigrant activists to pressure House leaders to overhaul the immigration system by the end of the congressional calendar year.

Among the House members who spoke at the rally and participated in the civil disobedience arrests were the civil rights giant, Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), immigration activist Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL), and Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY). The other House members who were arrested when they blocked a street near the Capitol are Reps. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Joe Crowley (D-NY), Keith Ellison (D-MN), Al Green (D-TX), and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). According to a police officer, they will likely be released Tuesday night after they each pay a $50 fine.

On stage, Lewis said, “I will fight with you, I will get arrested with you.”

Rangel similarly said, “We’re prepared to get arrested… the Statue of Liberty invited you to this country.”

    • DJohn1

As far as I know, Congress is immune from being arrested. You have to impeach them for their crimes. So D.C. might find itself fined instead for doing things the constitution says are illegal.
Same goes for diplomatic personnel. No diplomatic person can be arrested. They are immune from our laws despite what they might be doing.
Rand Paul was held up at an airport. They had no right to do so. Apparently it is part of the BIll of Rights.
The entire session of Congress could have been held as illegal because the Airport Security decided to keep him from getting on a plane. Needless to say Rand did not have the guts to pursue it. I wish he had charged them before Congress and that would have stopped these people cold.
It is illegal to arrest a Congress person for anything.

  • royals85

No one is prepared for what is coming simply because they don’t know what to expect, or who the enemy is. We simply don’t trust each other and with good reason most of the time.
Our society has made heros of those who should be villified and ridiculed those they should have listened to. Society has been conditioned to be “positive”. Realism has become “negative” and if you shine the light of reality most will run from you as fast as they can. Preparation has become “stupid” so just get ready for carnage and hope that you don’t break. Their are people who need you. Stay focused on your goals and don’t argue with idiots, they can’t be helped.
    Good day.

Politicians have always been somewhat pathological, but the trend has accelerated.
As government has gotten more powerful and all consuming, those who create their fortunes from government increase in number and power. K Street and the politicians have formed a symbiotic relationship to gouge the ordinary citizens. Wall street is also a part of this.

If there were some way to ride this wave without becoming a member of the symbiotic classes, I would. But, I cannot see anything except being a target of the symbiosis rather than a beneficiary.

AFRICA FOR THE AFRICANS, ASIA FOR THE ASIANS, WHITE COUNTRIES FOR EVERYBODY??

The anti-whites elites at the UN believe in magic. Their mantra is that the world will be fine when there is “free movement of capital, goods,
services, AND LABOR” in international trade.

The problem is, of course, that this magic line is ALWAYS a racial thing.

It doesn’t matter what economic or political theory a brown country says it believes in, a brown country will be a tyranny and it will live in poverty the minute there are not enough white countries and white people to pull it out.

The Big Lie is that SKIN COLOR does not matter.

Anti-whites expect an entire race to disappear from the face of the earth without even mentioning, not even whispering about it.

Nobody’s flooding Africa with Non-Africans and giving them free health care, affirmative action and special privileges.

Only White Countries are doing it, only White children are affected, and only White politicians are allowing it.

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.

68% but only 1% can tell you that it all rides on the fact that debt is used as currency , the same 1% who will understand it when I say that “gold is money now that it has demand driven & scalable real-time liquidity now that it floats …… all debt-free.

I strikes me that as ObamaCare prices the middle class out of the health insurance market, we may finally get back to a “cash for service” medical system. That might just reduce the growth and total cost of the health care system.

Too bad Obama won’t let us purchase catastrophic care policies. Who ever thought the government would outlaw those.

Americans look at their political parties as if they ARE sports teams, they follow them blindly, their only concern is ‘are we winning’ and to hell with the consequences. If you can’t look at all political parties and see faults and weaknesses then you aren’t looking hard enough. You only have to look at the Presidential elections to see the fan base of each candidate; it looks like a football game. I ‘m sure that most haven’t got a clue. I am glad that Australian federal election campaigns only last 6 week.
