Worst Jobs Report In Nearly 6 Years – 102 Million Working Age Americans Do Not Have Jobs

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Google+Share on LinkedInShare on StumbleUponEmail this to someone

You Are Fired - Public DomainThis is exactly what we have been expecting to happen.  On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the U.S. economy only added 38,000 jobs in May.  This was way below the 158,000 jobs that analysts were projecting, and it is also way below what is needed just to keep up with population growth.  In addition, the number of jobs created in April was revised down by 37,000 and the number of jobs created in March was revised down by 22,000.  This was the worst jobs report in almost six years, and the consensus on Wall Street is that it was an unmitigated disaster.

The funny thing is that the Obama administration says that the unemployment rate actually went down last month.  Almost every month since Obama has been in the White House, large numbers of Americans that have been unemployed for a very long time are shifted from the “unemployment” category to the “not in the labor force” category.  This has resulted in a steadily falling “unemployment rate” even though the percentage of the population that is actually working has not changed very much at all since the depths of the last recession.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics claims that the number of Americans “not in the labor force” increased by 664,000 from April to May.  If you believe that, I have a giant bridge on the west coast that I would like to sell you.  The labor force participation rate is now down to 62.6, and it is hovering just above a 38 year low.

When you add the number of working age Americans that are “officially unemployed” (7.4 million) to the number of working age Americans that are considered to be “not in the labor force” (an all-time record high of 94.7 million), you get a grand total of 102.1 million working age Americans that do not have a job right now.

This is not a game.

So far in 2016, three members of my own extended family have lost their jobs.

According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, layoffs at major firms are running 24 percent higher up to this point in 2016 than they were during the same time period in 2015.

It was only a matter of time before those layoffs started showing up in the official employment numbers, and I fully expect that this trend will accelerate in the months ahead.

And here are some other brand new numbers for you to consider…

-Since Barack Obama entered the White House, 14,179,000 Americans have “left the labor force” according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

-The quality of our jobs continues to deteriorate.  In May, 59,000 full-time jobs were lost, but 118,000 part-time jobs were gained.

-Since September 2014, 207,000 mining jobs have been lost.

-We just learned that U.S. factory orders have declined once again.  This marks the 18th month in a row that this has taken place, and we have never seen such an extended decline outside of a major recession.

-JPMorgan’s “recession indicators” have just soared to the highest level that we have seen since the last recession.

Needless to say, the financial community is pretty horrified by all of this news.  They were expecting a much better jobs report, and many of them are not hiding their disappointment.  Here is one example from the Wall Street Journal

This was an unqualified dud of a jobs report,” said Curt Long, chief economist at the National Association of Federal Credit Unions, noting “the unemployment rate fell, but for the wrong reason as labor force participation declined for the second consecutive month.”

And here is another example that comes from David Donabedian, the chief investment officer at Atlantic Trust Wealth Management…

We can’t find a positive nugget in today’s job report. If we were looking for signs of strength in this report, there is nothing to hang onto here.”

But of course the mainstream media is doing their best to put a positive spin on these numbers.  For instance, CNN just published a laughable article entitled “America’s economy is stronger than weak jobs report“.

And the White House insists that this new employment report really isn’t that big of a deal

The White House doesn’t get “too disappointed” over the number of unemployed and underemployed Americans.

“I’ve been reacting to jobs numbers here at the White House for more than seven years, and what is true today has been true in the past, which is, we don’t get too excited when jobs numbers are better than expected and we don’t get too disappointed when jobs numbers one-month are lower than expected,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told CNBC.

But of course the truth is that it is a really big deal.  We just received major confirmation that the U.S. economy has slipped into recession mode.

For months, I have been writing about how virtually every other indicator has been screaming that a new economic crisis had already begun.

But the employment numbers had remained fairly decent up until now.  Employment is typically considered to be a “lagging indicator”, which means that it isn’t one of the first places we would expect to see signs of a recession show up.  However, it is inevitable that the official unemployment numbers will reflect an economic downturn eventually, and that is what we are starting to see now.

What this means is that you probably have even less time to get prepared for what is ahead than you may have originally thought.

The U.S. economy has already entered the early chapters of the next great economic crisis, and most of the population is going to be caught totally off guard and will suffer tremendously.

If our leaders had made better decisions since the last crisis, things could have turned out differently.  But instead, they continued to conduct business as usual, and now we will reap what they have sown.

Obama is the diaster and the regulations he established that are hindering small business. Graduates have huge loans, poor degrees and no jobs. Others are being forced out of the labor market because companies are moving jobs out of the country. Still others like the coal miners are jobless because of Obama’s attack on the industry. Jobs are also being replaced by out of country workers (Disney) to name one and technology.
We don’t manufacture anything in this country any more. The elite told everyone needs to go to college and thumbed their nose at those who did the trades.
Obama just named summer jobs program for refugees! Are you kidding me !! Who about our young people who need to work and get some , any kind of work experience.
The unemployment and jobs numbers are all smoke and mirrors.
Things can be changed to make things better but not with this administration. We are headed for bad bad times.

    • algol2000

The administration is deliberately destroying the labor market in order to increase the number of government dependents,

      • David Enge

One reality often neglected is that all this mess is a legacy of a decades-long infatuation by a self-centered populace who votes for those who promise free ‘stuff’, and run to NOT vote for anyone speaking fiscal sense. Much more could be said, but as terrible a socialist president as Obama has been, do not lay it all at his feet. We have had a succession of duds as president. Even Reagan would have been seen by Kennedy & Eisenhower as fiscally irresponsible. There are many roots to this: the existence of the Federal Reserve, the social and moral downturn…..but blaming is now too late. Trust God, or learn to do so, and learn whom in your life you can trust. The tsunami tide has flowed out, the beach is bare and wide: we must now metaphorically RUN FOR HIGHER GROUND.

        • sistersoldier

          Thank you David.

      • JC Teecher

and….eliminate the middle class. Why the need for a tax base/working class population when the banksters just print more $$ and keep writing the checks.

Last year i did an analysis and estimate of the true unemployment/underemployment figures.
By doing some homework, I determined the actual close estimate of all available workers in ussag. It did include a percentage of 65 and older.

After crunching the numbers i came op with a more realistic rate of unemployment/underemployment.

A staggering 42% of the employable citizens are out of decent work.

The number of illegals did figure in at a small percentage, but were not actually included in the tally, because of unemployment insurance purposes. If they are undocumented and paid cash, they can’t figure into the gov unemployment rate, which is based primarily on the number of citizens applying for unemployment benefits.

They/gov, use a lot of smoke and mirrors to help build up their case that “everyting is OK mon”.

        • bigdo

          i’d say 42% is about right… that’s what it looks like where i’m at that’s for sure…

      • Mark Sivad

No so the Fed doesn’t raise rates and the party on Wall Street continues through the election.

You can all whine in retrospect. I voted for Hillary from the start in Primary years ago. Most of you voted for Obama by omission. The white boy Republican base is no longer the majority.. a simple mathematical fact. When Hillary didn’t win then, the Democratic base definitely wasn’t going to vote stodgy old McCain, so Obama had an easy win. Romney the slick Mormon really didn’t have mass appeal either. But this isn’t the type of board to listen to factual reasoning.
I guess there’s the chance that Trump has more appeal than the standard dull old fart and 2bit slickster republicans we’ve had before.. even to foolish women who might have intelligently voted otherwise.
Anyways, now the board has the chance to vote stupid all over again and whine for the next four years. I want you to know that I have great faith in most of you to do so.

      • Mark

OH Great one, please share with all the rest of us mere mortals exactly “where” you get your facts from. Who exactly is feeding you the “facts”?

At any rate, this election does not matter. I wouldn’t get too worked up over it. No human solution is possible for the problems we face. There will be a tremendous currency crisis soon, and I genuinely hope you’re prepared, Sunny.

            not counting chickens… wish i was 🙂

    • Mad Monkey

It is the beginning of the end, just prior to the elections Oct2016 – when everything will fail.
Most jobs have gone to the machines. within 2-3 years given normal continuance of the economy 60% of current remaining jobs will be by autobots.

      • gfmucci

More autobots is the result of government forcing higher minimum wage, further distorting our less than free market of jobs/labor. $15 an hour fast food labor cost begs for the $12 an hour bots.

        • Ken

The higher minimum wage may accelerate the pace of automation slightly, but the contuing trend to eliminate human labor is inevitable. Corporations are moving jobs abroad and automating the the rest as the technology becomes available. Humans are unreliable, get sick and injured, cause HR problems, make mistakes, etc. All labor skill levels are in the process of being eliminated, and the pace is accelerating. To be relevant, better get a career in developing or assembling robots.

        • Diabolus Candidus

Yeah, capitalists would never have gone for bots if not for min wage campaigns. Yours is a voice of reason in these here troublesome End Times.

      • L. A. McDonough

I see autobots (same as robots or are robots just used for assembly lines?) I am ref. to check out lines in grocery stores, some are using autobots. Another concern: I know old farts around 70 or older still working (greedy geezers) when young people need these jobs!
They should retire and make room for those starting out. I’m not ref. to self employed either. I view them as total losers and jerks.

        • NJS007

They need the jobs since the economy tanked. Their financial advisers planned using 5-6% interest rates instead of the current .5% or lower rates. If the geezers have no money, the tax payers or younger family members will end up supporting them.

I am currently taking care of two immortal elder family members. If they had died in their 80s, funds would have been okay. They are still active in their 90s.

          • laura m.

My mother lived up to almost 98, spent last year in long term care (stroke). Inlaws were almost 90 (strokes) not in long term care, one died sudden other one in hosp. Can be a financial burden if no insurance which they all had. People who are still working into their 70’s are poor planners didn’t save.

          • Steeve Girard

The problem is not poor planning, the problem is that you try to save a dollar, they immediately to every effort to make it disappear, and they in the end finish by making it happen. People are money vampires.

          • jonodough

you are an idiot and an azzhole.

          • Steeve Girard

I am in a similar situation… except they will die young, due to industrial pollution. I should not be taking care of Elder people because the system decided to forget about them. I should be working full-time and make the system happy, but I can’t.

        • jrr

Speaking as a Boomer myself I find it amazing that so many blame us for this countries problems and have no sympathy for our present situation. Many of us have had to forgo saving for our futures due to the fact that we have been financing the Greatest Generations retirement while at the same time trying to raising the next generation of some of the most selfish, spoiled, and greedy self absorbed individuals the world has ever seen…..see there, 2 can play at the blame game.:o)

        • jeff

Idiot!!! They aren’t working to deprive others. They are working out of pure necessity and are angry that they never will get that lied about retirement after working for 50 years break

      • iguana one

Yeah. In October, the election could be “postponed” and Obama will take the reigns.
He may put the unemployed to work in the Labor camps along with their re-education classes.
In addition, those people will be fed and housed.
Slaves. Poor. Down trodden. Lost. Shame.

      • eagle keeper

And eventually the machines will fail also. They aren’t paid a wage or a salary. True they are highly efficient in that they never get sick or take a break. They don’t have personal problems to deal with. However the one thing the machines can’t do is purchase the product they are producing. That ability ended when the employer replaced his or her human workers with machines. So are we any better because of these machines?? I think not.

    • Steeve Girard

The problem is that the energy to fuel growth is choking, we are having less and less conventional oil. It is at the base of everything industrial. We are heading to the end of the oil age.
      .
That means pollution increase, as we search for other energies desperately, such as shale gas turning tap water into lighter fluid and tar sands turning rivers into poison.
      .
That means population crash, as the population loses basic necessities such as water, food, clothes and shelter. Also the search for basic necessities will cause massive unwanted migrations which will turn violent over time: just look at Europe.
      .
That means our services will collapse under the strain of the need of the many and the too few of the give.
      .
That means the collapse of technology back to at 18th century style society. Which policing it will become impossible due to the lack of instant acting tools of information: television, telephone, internet, which will make crime more easy to commit, especially rape, which will lead women back to servitude in Abrahamic societies. Which will lead back to an increase of births, but with no proper medical technology, child death will be rampant.
      .
Heck, it will be the Wild West everywhere.

      • WSmith

The country is awash in oil as technology has given new life to old oil wells…..Fracking occurs thousands of feet below fresh water sources and no household taps are spewing lighter fluid. The quality of rivers and streams in this country have steadily improved since Richard Nixon created the EPA (before it went rogue under Obama). The migration problem in Europe was brought about by the Obama/Clinton fiasco of a politically motivated withdrawal that left a void for ISIS to fill.
The coming collapse is politically motivated too.

        • Steeve Girard

that is not now… that was “was”.

Looking at my Chinese-made crystal ball, I see dire times ahead. Very dire times.

There are already close to 50 million people on food stamps (probably more now). About the only “good” jobs these days are government jobs – city, state, county, federal. The rest mostly consist of Walmart, Starbucks, McDonalds, call centers, and maybe 1 or 2 jobs at a plumbing company. If you’re lucky.

See a trend here? They (TPTB) want a population entirely dependent on the government. Socialism gone amuk? Maybe so. After all, this is one of the legacies of the Obama administration.

    • rmc9

Obeyme couldn’t be happier…plan is on schedule.

      • sistersoldier

Some would argue that the continued and inevitable destruction of our currency and economy has been on-going for at least a hundred years, long before President Obama became a household name.

Economists have asserted that it is due to the establishment of the Federal Reserve and its roll in the dollar’s devaluation. We may not have the exact date(s) concerning our currency’s demise and quite possibly the ollapse Michael is sounding the alarm about with regards to our economy but it is inevitable. The reduction of consumer purchasing power was planned before any us were issued a social security number. If you are earning less money then quite systematically your purchasing power is reduced as the cost of goods increase and so forth and so on as the economy is dependent upon the consumer’s ability to buy and save as well.

Rev. 6:5-7 says it will take everything the average person can earn in a day to purchase enough wheat flour to make a large loaf of bread. (A loaf of bread is roughly enough food for one person for one day.) That means all other expenses, including the cost of feeding anyone else they may be responsible for will go unpaid. Whether it is due to hyper-inflation, extreme food shortages, hoarding, severe global catastrophe, cosmic or otherwise or crop failure(s) is yet to be known. Whatever the reason – we can now see that it is possible and frightening.

        • mtntrek3

Yes, some may want to put most of the economic decline on more recent Presidencies, and to some extent it’s true. Actually…. this all started decades ago, and is becoming more prevalent w/ each succeeding administration. The snowball effect so to speak. We’ve started downhill in the seventies financially speaking and have remained downslope since then… w/ a few upticks in between. All this coincided w/the beginning of outsourcing of jobs and being taken off the gold standard. I’m sure the Rothschilds, Bilderbergs and Rockefellers etc. were celebrating at this point.

Friend of mine graduated a couple years ago and can’t get full time. He’s applied to jobs that don’t require a degree and can’t get a call back.

He works part time as a custodian at the H.S. we both graduated from and I’ve been telling him to stay there and go full time till he can find something else as they make pretty decent money with benefits. The supervising custodian who doesn’t have a degree, let alone doesn’t even know if he has a H.S. diploma is making $62K.

        • NJS007

Your friend should check into “topping” his degree. I know several young people who had the same problem and went back to school, They attended tech school to learn a trade / marketable skill. After one term most were able to find paid internships (income for on the job training and their tuition and other educational expenses paid). Later, the old 4-year degree helped them to get on management tracks. The degree helps to get them pass the HR requirements for management positions.

I would like to highlight an interesting point brought out from the first episode of this past season of the X-Files. Yes it has the extraterrestrial aspect to it, but what was said has key importance for right now:

O’MALLEY: And then the world itself – by any means necessary, however violent… or cruel… or efficient. By severe drought brought on by weather wars conducted secretly using aerial contaminants and high-altitude electromagnetic waves. In a state of perpetual war to create problem-reaction-solution scenarios to distract, enrage and enslave American citizens at home with tools like the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act, which abridged the Constitution in the name of national security. The militarization of police forces in cities across the U.S. The building of prison camps by the Federal Emergency Management Agency with no stated purpose. The corporate takeover of food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals and health care, even the military, in clandestine agendas, to fatten, dull, sicken and control a populace already consumed by consumerism.

The banks will announce a shutdown which will necessitate that their servers will go offline all weekend.

    MULDER: Digital money will disappear.

    • mark

May have already started at the Duetch Bank according to Trunews today.

I think we give a president too much credit for killing the golden goose. The US congress bears the blame or most of it. They still spend and they refuse to slow it or stop it. People complain about that den of thieves but incumbents keep getting elected. New members are soon sucked into the sewer and are told they will get nothing for their districts/states if they do not play the game. Evidently, the majority of the electorate are supporting the ongoing disaster. The question that bothers me is the downfall going to be “slow” or are we going to wake one morning to hear your money is no good or has been confiscated. I am expecting confiscation of accounts above a certain threshold. And recall, the US Supreme Court amens everything. Trump will find out soon enough that his ideas on mass deportations will be “trumped” by a Federal Judge who will shut such an operation down. The whole construct is a disaster.

    • Mr. Cipher

      “mass deportations will be “trumped”
Perhaps, but At least he’ll try unlike the other spineless sell outs. The biggest one occupies the Oval Office.

  • Bill

Two big fish are about to fry; Hillary for email manipulation and Obama for statistical manipulation. Top it off with treason for both.

Some people still seem to wonder what’s wrong with America.

          He has the Bush arrogance.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

In Benghazi if you were among the four marines left on a rooftop to die it is not a “IN RATIO MISHAP.”……only a delirious liberal could make that statement.

There we go again as mere humans thinking we know things and events better than Jehovah God. He tells us that there will always be wars and rumors of wars until the end of the age. Man will continually cry peace peace, but there is no peace. Get used to conflict and wars under satan’s rule. From here on out it only gets worse not better. Until Jesus return that is.

Any recent graduates finding it easy or hard to get a job? Yesterday I watched outside my home, my neighbor having his stuff loaded onto a container. He is going to Denmark; has a new IT job waiting for him. Sad that this country used to be the IT hub, now it is not.

    • Lao Tzu

Look up any data on how many Danes come to America for jobs.

      • Iso

        Is that a rhetorical question?

    • Malcolm Reynolds

Sad that this country used to be the IT hub, now it is not.
You based on that on what exactly? One neighbor leaving?
Then why do so many IT jobs get filled by H1B?
Why can I get on ANY job listing site and find dozens and dozens of available IT jobs?

      • Iso

I meant that computer technology used to be made in U.S. and things in U.S. were valued. I don’t base what I said on one neighbor.

True many jobs are being filled by H1B migrants. H1B needs to be curtailed.

Truth is people are going overseas for good paying IT and engineering jobs.

        • Iso

Also, just because the IT jobs are listed as available doesn’t mean they are. It’s kind of the same thing with job fairs – they are a just there to give job seekers the illusion that there are so many good paying jobs.

          • eagle keeper

Just like anything in any economy, if you as a society don’t have the higher paying jobs to support say new car dealerships for example. For every yearly price hike to the cost of that vehicle and there aren’t people working that make the kind of money to support those price hikes, how much have you narrowed the target demographic of customers who can afford your product??

        • eagle keeper

Not to mention that American students don’t possess the educational discipline so employers are having to outsource a lot of engineering jobs to folks outside conus.

  • Brian

Our leaders our a reflection of our society.Obama came out of nowhere and Americans bought his lies, hook, line and sinker. His stupid slogan of “Yes We Can” was probaly code 2 the New World Order that Yes We Can finish off America.Well it appears the final nail is being set into place and I’m afraid Hillary is holding the hammer. Our only dim light of hope seems 2 be Donald Trump.Scary times we live in.

He talks the talk, but never walked the walk.
But hey.. it’s only THE PRESIDENCY!
Maybe next we’ll grab people off the street w/no medical training to do surgery!

Neither did Ulysses Grant or Dwight Eisenhower have a prior politcal position, though both had a strong military background. Dwight being ” The Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in World War II”
and Grant “Commanding General of the United States Army”
How much military background does Trump have? NADA!!! ZIP!!!! ZILCH!!! ZERO!!!

“no major U.S. company has filed for Chapter 11 more than Trump’s casino empire in the last 30 years.”
He has filed four business bankruptcies. Maybe he thinks it’s just as easy to file bankruptcy w/the entire government and walk away.

          • LAWD

I sorta think that a prez that doesn’t want (moar) war but knows how to deal with bankruptcy is precisely what the USA is badly in need of.

          • ITSNOTWhatchaThink

Trump is a successful businessman by fleecing others. He isn’t known for great tact and can’t be trusted not to put his foot in his mouth for America bigtime.

            Hillary didn’t murder anyone.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Hillary and Obama watched on satellite surveillance camera that whole incident !.

Those marines were on that roof 8 hours we had special forces in Sicily 4 hours away.

The OLD HAG is a murderer and should be charged with neglect of duty and brought to trial. She might as well have shot that mortar herself on those 4 Marines.

Hillary murdered those 4 Marines !.

          • eagle keeper

Truer words were never spoken. I have never heard anyone to date refer to war as being Heavenly. It always is referred to as satan’s area of responsibility, you know man’s inhumanity to man in whatever form it takes. Usually results in death by whatever means. Ever since Cain killed his brother Abel it has escalated from there into the evil world we live in today.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            And Traitors Are Executed !.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Hillary murdered Amb. Stevens and the four Marines thru negligence, she did not read the email reports that were coming in from the military professionals on the ground in Benghazi……

But she read emails and corresponded with a non-military friend a Mr. Blumenthal who sent hillary over 150 emails talking about Benghazi although he had never been to Libya and had no official capacity other than a friend.

Hillary is a incompetent BUFFOON and belongs in Jail for MURDER !

THEY (Hillary and Obama) knew that Benghazi was under attack and they knew by whom !. Did you ever hear of satellite camera surveillance… THEY watched those marines get blasted to oblivion !.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Hillary left those 4 marines on that rooftop WAITING for reinforcements to save them……only the ULTIMATE SCUM POLITICIANS would leave soldiers behind to DIE when special forces were 4 hours away in Sicily.

POLITICIANS and SCUM are interchangeable words.

Bush is/was a Politician but not at the subterranean level of decrepitness of Hillary.

          • JC Teecher

If I remember correctly we already contribute to the tune of over 9 million annually, just from taxpayers alone. The amount of aid by Christian groups is probably ten times that amount. What good does it do?
Not much if you agree with a report by the WSJ…..

” Calls for more aid to Africa are growing louder, with advocates pushing for doubling the roughly $50 billion of international assistance that already goes to Africa each year.

Yet evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that aid to Africa has made the poor poorer, and the growth slower. The insidious aid culture has left African countries more debt-laden, more inflation-prone, more vulnerable to the vagaries of the currency markets and more unattractive to higher-quality investment. It’s increased the risk of civil conflict and unrest (the fact that over 60% of sub-Saharan Africa’s population is under the age of 24 with few economic prospects is a cause for worry). Aid is an unmitigated political, economic and humanitarian disaster.”

My idea is this: Give a man a fish, and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, give him the tools, and feed him for a lifetime.

          • eagle keeper

That’s why churches and missionaries are there around the world helping the needy. But like any ministry you are called by the Holy Spirit into that field of service. I am called to Kairos the prison ministry, you??

But the buck stops at her desk. Since at the time she was the secretary of state. What about the administration’s assertion that it wasn’t a terrorist attack at all, it was over an offensive video. Yes there were repeated requests for additional security measures that were repeatedly ignored by the state department, (Hillary) and no one else can take responsibility or blame for HER shortcomings. As a result people died. There were stand down orders given to boots on the ground also. So why would any thinking person continue to believe lying Hitlery??

That is so true. Blood sweat and tears built this country. Politicians for the most part sat on their hands or tried to interfere with anything industrious and inventive people did the building. Politicians aren’t qualified to wipe a real American’s backside. Whoever got the thought or notion that politicians are the answer to anything are damned badly fooled.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

This is not opinion this is FACT….

BUSINESSMEN with vision and ideas built this country. THEY (businessmen) built factories, machine shops, hardware stores etc etc that employed millions and millions of people. These factories supplied the arms to defend our country in WW2.

POLITICAL work should be ONE TERM and then BACK to your BUSINESS be it a machine shop or a hardware store and the attitude should be one of SERVING the country. The men/woman serving in this capacity would be the brightest minds and work ethics. Those serving the country in this capacity would be the exact opposite of the scum traitors that call themselves POLITICIANS….

          • JC Teecher

            You are so right, Bill.

Things were on the right track until greed and jealously got the best of the the politicians and the movers and shakers of corporate America in the late 1800’s.

When the foreign controlled banksters, “crept in unawares”, like the tares of old, the stage was setting up for a hundred years of destruction and theft of American citizens.

There is plenty of blame to go around, but which generation is to blame the most?
It is irrelevant now. We had our chance and just like Israel of old, when the 12/13 tribes were still intact, God gave the warnings and the people did not heed.

Too many worldly/lustful people now to make the change back to a moral society/world. The foxes are controlling the hen house, so it is up to Christians to prepare on an individual basis.

We are running out of time to make necessary changes…actually already ran out of time. The Pygmy societies in New Guinea have a better chance at holding a peaceful and blessed society than America.

I am just thankful I got to see what i perceive as some of the best and worst times in history. Some of us were born into this time period for a reason.
It will be fascinating to see it all play out. Thank God my Kids are grown, and have a good foundation for the grand kids.

          • Steeve Girard

If that is the result of democracy… then it should be abandoned. Politicians should not be voted in office, but promoted by their competence record…. I think it is time to move to meritocracy… and let the incompetents behind.

          • eagle keeper

This country was founded on the basis of a representative republic. It was never meant to be a democracy. Democracies are destructive in every way. Relying on what the majority wants is never a good thing.

      • Bill G Wilminton NC

        HILLARY FOR JAIL 2016 !.

    • Bill

I agree with what you said except your first sentence. We get what we “pay” for because our society is a reflection of our leaders who are guilty beyond treason.

  • greanfinisher .

The vast majority of ‘jobs’ out there are of the usual part-time low- pay no-benefits variety which the temp services are typically peddling. In fact, to describe those ‘positions’ as positively deplorable would be an incredible understatement. If afforded the opportunity, I think that the best option by far would simply be to ‘game the system’. For the young single mothers, this could correlate into continuing to bear children so as to remain tethered to public assistance. For others, feigning a medical condition is a popular way into hopping onto the SSD bandwagon. Of course, similar mechanisms hold true for the welfare and the food stamp programs.

    • mtntrek3

We need more full time livable wage jobs. Our better paying jobs being sent elsewhere for the love of money by the big corporate types. All of this bringing us down to …………. the rich and the poor. Middle class an endangered species. An economy can’t survive w/o a middle class.

      • greanfinisher .

With the wealth grossly disproportionated into such a tiny faction of society, I’m afraid that the full time livable wage jobs in this country are simply a relic of a past age. What the oligarchy is actually moving to is an entire populace composed of obedient and dumbed down indentured slaves who are perpetually impoverished and indebted. That of course essentially fits the defintion of any American surrogate state as well (Haiti, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Thailand, Poland, etc.etc.)

Ist and 2nd amendments gone…..TPP trade agreement will pass….no renegotiation of past trade agreements nafta cafta gatt…..

The country will collapse into a heap BY DESIGN….with no way out !

VOTE TRUMP put a businessman into the drivers seat ! and put Hillary in Jail !

          • greanfinisher .

For all intents and purposes, our constitutional rights are pretty well gone anyway. Regardless of whom wins the November ‘election’, I think that it will just be more of the same at best, and a totalitarian state at worst. The Hillary hag will likely toss a few more crumbs out there for her main constituency (minorities, illegals, unemployed, welfare and food stamp recipients , overpass tenants, drifters, bums, etc.), but of course at the working man’s expense. You can expect that both of them will raises taxes for the middle class. Beyond that, there really isn’t much difference between these two characters.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Here is ONE big difference between Hillary and Trump…..

TRUMP is PRO-LIFE ! babies do not have to hide in the womb.

HILLARY the BABY KILLER feels it is OK to tear little babies limb to limb saving the head for last then crush it and pul itl out !.

          • greanfinisher .

My view of the whole abortion circus is that this is solely a moral issue, and not a political one. Even from its inception, this nation has hardly been a moral one so I’m not sure that substituting babies for native Americans is going to make the killing less palatable.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Trump is anti abortion….abortion is murder of the most defenseless “the unborn baby”.

When our taxes go to pay for abortion and so far there has been 56 million abortions….there will be a Judgement by God coming on our country……

          • greanfinisher .

If he wins, let’s all hope that Donald Trump lives up to his hype, and does in fact correct some of the wrongs. However, allow me to make one simple point. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are members of the oligarchy, and I have yet to see any of these aristocrats in that entire bunch contribute anything that was actually designed for the public good. Yes, every one of these people undeniably has a (charitable) ‘foundation’ in place, but these ‘schemes’ (Clinton Foundation) are solely designed for money laundering and tax avoidance. How do you suppose that these two have become wealthy in the first place? It could only have been by stepping upon their fellow man, and there are no exceptions. Take my word for it. We’re all doomed no matter which of the two wins the November ‘election’.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Remember that 60 million voters did not vote in the last election……

Trump is bringing these voters out to VOTE !.

          • greanfinisher .

I would predict that there will be far more than 60 million voters who will just sit this ‘election’ out, and I will likely be one of them.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

            Mr Greenfinisher,
Here in NC the results of “registration to vote” in the repub primary was shocking.

In this county the repub party registered over 3500 “new” voters and the repub party county chairman said that they have never seen anything like this…they can hardly keep up with these new registrations….and 9 out of 10 of these new registered repubs say the same thing ” I am here to register repub so I can vote for Donald Trump in the primary that is the only reason that I am here ”

The repub chairman went on to say that this is going on in all the counties in NC. There are 100 counties in NC…do you get it…..

There is a percentage of those 60 million “unvoting” voters that have ” HAD IT ” and Trump is pulling them off the couch. These ” TO BE VOTERS” are Peed Off, Angry, Fed Up, and Ready to Roll. THEY have had it with POLITICIANS and are voting for TRUMP.

          • greanfinisher .

As for Donald Trump, his only rabbit in the hat is simply to exploit people’s hard luck and desperation, but what has he actually promised them? Oh, he rants about erecting tariffs, and supposedly restoring some manufacturing back into this country. Of course, what he neglects to mention is that this would be primarily a congressional prerogative, and not something initiated by the executive branch. Do you actually believe that this would sail through any House committee? Even for the sake of argument that some manufacturing was actually restored, they would again be of the usual part time, low pay and no benefits types.

          • Bill G Wilminton NC

Trump is going to build the wall, send the illegals back, stop the muslim invasion, renegotiate our NAFTA, GATT and CAFTA trade agreements, block the passage of the worst trade agreement of all called TPP, make manufacturing in the USA viable, and he would present conservatives to replace Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court,

If we dont get a conservative to replace Justice Scalia on the Supreme Court we will lose our 1st, 2nd and 10th amendment rights….

            VOTE TRUMP for FREEDOM

          • greanfinisher .

Quite obviously, what we can both agree on is that the racketeerin’ ol’ hag isn’t going to help the middle class one iota. In fact, things will get far worse with that money launderin’ witch at the helm. I can just envision martial law, blanket gun confiscations, wars, an exploding national debt, an influx of illegals, and a spike in unemployment followed by a horde of bankruptcies with that murderin’ Secretary of ‘War’.

A house divided cannot long stand. We have in our country ben a divided as not united as a people, but divided into people groups that refuse to assimilate into what was once American culture. That species is or has been on the endangered list for quite some time now. We are fading fast.

There is no doubt, anymore, that Dems & Repubs are sharing the same snake den, and have been for at least 30 years. The many comments here pretty well cover everything. Normalcy bias and ignorance have been the downfall of this country and as Christian influence has waned, every bad aspect of government, morals & ethics have increased. Our Constitution is reaching the the point of helplessness, for it was designed to work only for a virtuous and moral populace. It seems we’re in the grip of a very evil and unstoppable force and the game will be played out. If you don’t know the Lord, all I can say is, “Good Luck!!” Fiddlin

Mike…another good article…can you talk about derivitives soon and explain how the US is kind of immune to some major economic problems like other countries because we are in the world currency basket and sell our bonds that are only backed by money we print out of thin air and as long as we are a reserve currency and oil is priced in dollars debt doesn’t matter to us and our only problem is internal economic infrastructure like jobs for our population

    • socalbeachdude

The US Treasury certainly does not print any money out of thin air at all, but only gets its money through 1) TAX REVENUES AND FEES, and 2) ISSUANCE OF US TREASURIES TO BORROW MONEY.

  • Randy131

It is quite apparent that the Obama administration has lied to the American people through the ‘Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS), false statistics that they report every month and every quarter. How can one know that this is true? Because every time they lower the official ‘US Unemployment Rate’, they also drop huge numbers of unemployed American citizens of working age (16 years to 54 years of age) from the ‘US Workforce’ in order to get the lower percentages of unemployment that they seek, falsely showing the economy doing better than it really is, and they’ve been doing this only since Obama became President. Another way that one can tell that we’re being lied to is how the BLS continually readjusts the previous months statistics, that were reported to be good at that time, to a lower statistic than first reported, and making that month’s report, or that quarter’s report bad, but since they’re also reporting the newest month or quarter as a good report, until the readjust it the next month or quarter, people don’t realize how many bad economic reports have been made through all of the readjustments coming a month or quarter later, and in some cases as was reported in this article, two months later. One should go back and count not only how many months Obama has had unemployed people dropped from the ‘US Workforce’ because of long term unemployment, but also how many times the economic statistics were revised downward the next month, erasing the good report from the previous month, and turning it into what it really was, a bad economic report. If Obama and his administration would lower themselves to this type of false reporting, one should also remember that the jobs that Obama claims to have created are not ‘Head Count Jobs’, actually counting the number of people that are known for sure to have gotten a new job, but instead are actually only ‘Estimated Jobs’, and in which direction do you think Obama and his administration would error in, too few jobs to make the economy look bad, or way to many jobs to make the economy look falsely good? One should also be knowingly informed that the BLS, on their internet website, reports that their are only a total of 256 million American citizens of working age that reside in the USA today, and they’re reporting, with the number of unemployed American citizens that they have dropped from the ‘US Workforce’, that there are approximately 103 million American citizens of working age that are unemployed, from a pool of 256 million American citizens in total, making the real ‘US Unemployment Rate’ to be just over 40%, quite a difference from the 4.9% Obama and his administration’s BLO reports today, and that’s only if they are reporting the truth, which many economists highly doubt. It seems strange to me how many people believe what a proven liar tells them, for Obama’s proven boldfaced lies cannot be counted by the number of digits we have on both hands and both feet combined.

  • dabron

So how do “we” fix it? I see a lot of bitching and moaning about how bad it is and gotta prepare, but very few ideas as to how to fix it. Lets get with it! my suggestions for today… what are yours?
    1) stop feeling sorry for ourselves and realize that it is time to cut our losses and change our attitudes. Encourage our young and unemployed that a “farm” job or a minimum wage job is still a good job. It will always pay better then mom and dad or welfare and gets them out of the house. More jobs are created by the need to build housing and buy for the new housing. This will lower the reliance on government handouts and illegal immigrants to harvest our fields and clean our hotels and taxes will be paid accordingly for the infrastructure. If you can not find a job, even a minimum wage job, in your area, migrate. It is what our parents/grandparents/great…grandparents did for thousands of years when it got tough. heck, maybe it is time to migrate to Saudi, India and China to get the jobs and bring our culture, language and values to them.

    2) stop voting for anyone who is concerned about global warming. This will allow for the continued support of coal and gas and increase the number of “middle” and good jobs. Afterall, there is not anyone in the rest of the world who is worried about it enough to prevent the increase of CO2 levels. Do you really think that China, Russia, India and developing world wants to go back to cold meals and housing? not a chance. Mankind will do what it has always done. Adapt.
    3) stop buying anything not grown, manufactured or connected to a company that is located and paying taxes in our country such as BMW, Audi, Samsung, HTC etc. Buy from Tesla, iPhone, Microsoft. Don’t buy an apple or meat from Chile or New Zealand.
    What are your ideas?

    • Mr. Cipher

What a spineless, idiotic rant. Farm jobs? Housing? Bitching and moaning? A White, English speaking entry level worker wouldn’t have a chance at one of those jobs in America today. Migrate to another Country? Give in? You are a POS!

    • Mr. Cipher

Your sentiment is well taken however the jobs you have mentioned have long been taken over by the Hispanics. A White, English speaking entry level worker need not apply for those in his own Country. We have been sold out by the Politicians. The suggestion to migrate is weak and spineless. I’d say build a wall. Deport illegals and protect our sovereignty just like Mexico and Canada does.

      • HeyAHuman

That’s a pretty baseless, angry argument. He made some good points. What are you to do if you can’t find a job in your area Sit in the same spot, jobless and waiting on that wall and those deportation mandates?

I guess I am held to a higher standard of accountability, for some reason.

  • eagle keeper

When it comes to the economy and liberals, I have never quite understood their hatred of a prosperous society. What exactly is their definition of a “utopian” society anyway? Dad always said “son in order to have a proper mix of things you must have three basic classes of folks. The first (because they have the money and provide the jobs) are the rich. They hire me and others like me to work in their factories and make a product. The next is us. We are a sort of lower middle class family. Then there are the poor, which will always be with us. Our tax contributions taken from our pay help the poor along with churches and other civic organisations”. Well if anyone of these classes of folks is any more important than any other, it would be the one we are in. If the middle class of “workers” fails, the whole economy will collapse in short order. He did not foresee the influx of migrants and illegals flooding our populace. Nor did he see the destruction labor unions did to the trades and forced companies off shore. I am glad I am retired and missed the current day’s ball of confusion.

    • JC Teecher

Their hatred for a prosperous society includes anyone that is not a liberal elite, or ignorant, poor, liberal supporter.

The liberal elite see a Nwo where they are in control of all peoples, and those peoples are poor workers/followers/peasants. They see their utopian society as owning millions of (sex) slaves of every race. They see none of their utopian society as having any populations of Christians/-ews. wipe them out mentality.

Their utopian society has lucifer at the helm, and one in which all manner of lawlessness abounds…especially rape and murder.

      God has other plans.
So, I don’t see anything confusing about what is, and what is to come.

anyone else see it that way?

      • eagle keeper

Just got home from church. Good message by the way, always is. Thank you for your response. Just what I needed to hear. As pastor has told us often, it isn’t about us. It’s about Jesus Christ.

What does that comment have in any way, shape, or form to do with economics and the US economy and employment?

      • df NJ

Just what exactly are Republicans doing to promote a prosperous society? And why didn’t it work between 2001 and 2007 when Republicans controlled all three branches of government? If Republicans did not do such a bad job with the economy which was losing 800,000 jobs per month before the 2008 election, the Muslim black guy would have never got elected in the first place! America has traditionally been a conservative country. There’s no way a black guy could have won if the country was not so messed up.

        • socalbeachdude

The economy was only losing jobs in late 2008 and then only for a very short time while PANIC PREVAILED in the financial markets. That was not a trend at all as you suggest, but just a short term KNEE JERK REACTION that proved to be totally unfounded and was immediately reversed by early March 2009.

    • df NJ

Conservatives are just as bad as liberals. Or, Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. If you think otherwise you are delusional. For example, why didn’t the Republicans outlaw abortion when they controlled all three branches of government between 2001 and 2007?

      • socalbeachdude

Abortion is not and should not be a political matter, but strictly a medical decision between a woman and her medical doctor.

Don’t you see, they are now releasing the real job numbers so the Federal Reserve does NOT raise rates and a certain candidate gets elected in November, without the economy crashing beforehand. However, most don’t know that the Fed compiles their own job stat numbers. This is the way I see it, funny this comes out in June when the Fed was thinking of raising either in June or July.

    • socalbeachdude

As to unemployment the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) has SIX METRICS FOR UNEMPLOYMENT WHICH THEY ALWAYS REPORT and those are U1, U2, U3, U4, U5, and U6. U6 most comprehensively measures unemployment and hows it presently at 13.2% and the U6 number was the most widely reported metric up through the Reagan years. These days the White House and the press almost always only report the U3 metric which is about half that at around 7%. You can see the OFFICIAL US GOVERNMENT BLS NUMBERS based on each of those unemployment metrics on a monthly basis at the BLS web site.

demand serious, sweeping changes, it will just keep snowballing.” Demand serious sweeping changes from whom?

As to employment, that is not the responsibility of government and obviously no jobs are ever going to be “given” to anyone. The only reason a job even exists is so it can be of PRODUCTIVE VALUE TO THE EMPLOYER. Employers are NOT CHARITIES.

Theses bad decisions are intentional, they are intentionally destroying the US economy one brick at a time. The US economy is DOA(Dead on Arrival). SOme of the people that lead this country are at the same time against this country. Some of the folks in Washington D.C., Wall Street, Corporate America don’t care if this once great country falls so long as their pockets are lined with gold.
Some of these folks are no different than the deceased Osama bin laden just in a different way. On Sept 11, 2001, terrorist “crashed” planes into the 2 WTC and the Pentagon, killing thousands. During the economic crisis starting around 2007 some of the folks in power in America ” crashed” the economy by out sourcing jobs/careers, causing massive unemployment, which lead to foreclosures, bankruptcies, people not buying goods due to lack of money from lack of job, a all around bad situation.
Wall Street barons inflated the stock market, then withdrew their investment right before the collapse leaving the average hardworking American holding the empty bag.
At times Americas greatest threats don’t always come from overseas, but ft from sources much, much closer!!.

America has a huge population of people who are so stupid that they are TOTALLY UNEMPLOYABLE which is why so many of them are unemployed, and those that are aren’t worth a tiny fraction of what they are being paid.

Just go to any Wal-Mart and look at the zoo that represents more than one-third of all Americans with tattoos, piercings, bottoms bigger than elephants, and ask yourself whether you would even vaguely consider employment any of them to do anything.

It makes little to no sense to do any manufacturing of anything in the US when that can be done far less expensively and better in other countries with vastly lower labor costs and vastly more proficient labor.
